I like this album a lot. It’s a little dark….but the concept of a Joy Division is from the get go. I have a book about them on my dresser I need to get to!!

I really wanted to like it but think they have matured over time and this isn't their best work. This feels a very chaotic, unstructured and experimental compared to their more recent stuff.

Never heard this one and I really liked it. Reminded me of a more hip hop version of arrested development.

Steeley Dan is underrated. Its like the background music of our lives. This is a really great album!

OMG. Is this Music?

Classic. Smoke on the Water. Good. But Great? I dunno.

This isn't my bag, but it is great. I think it's one of those albums that is more important than good. Important to the development of punk music and its legacy. Also, not mentioned enough is that John Cale (the Velvet underground) produced this album. I met Iggy Pop once and he was really nice.

This album is kinda exactly like the previous one. I don't find it good, but I know its great. So many bands refer to it as being influential. It was nice background music for my work day. Just not my cup of tea.

It's hard to imagine a better Reagae Album than this. Iconic.

The older I get, the more I love Lou Reed. Among musicians that are artists...I think he is a king. He didn't give a fuck what anyone else was doing, he just did what he wanted. The Velvet underground never got him any commercial success and his first album was kinda blah, so hooking up with Bowie (who produced this album) while he was in Europe he came up with this masterpiece. Walk on the Wild Side, Sattelitte of Love, NY Conversation. All amazing. Love this.

Ray Charles is always amazing. Doesn't matter what he does. I didn't give it five stars because of the lack of hits. But I could certainly listen to him all day.

it's so funny that I thought Metallica was too heavy...like only freaks and druggies listened and it was garbage. Then the older I get, the more it's just music, good good music. So many classics on this one. It's an extremely good album that holds up so well!

The Kinks are another band I someday need to do a deep dive into. So many people are obsessed with them and although I like several of their songs I never saw the great allure.

I knew the first song really well which helped. After that I'd say it was good, but not amazing.

I really enjoyed this and I know it really good jazz. I wish I knew more about jazz and/or listened to more of it. It's like a black hole in my music knowledge. Although as a trumpet player I played it plenty and of course loved that.

I hate, hate hate Elton John. I love Tiny Dancer mainly because of the scene in "Almost Famous" (movie) ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qW9wqUI4Lg ) And Levon is a pretty good song. I think I can stomach early EJ easier. And I get his allure and greatness so I'm reluctantly giving it 4 stars....like a guy saying "I hate salmon, but that's good salmon." I hate EJ, but this is good EJ.

I love all things Elvis. I've often wondered if he was handsome whether he would have been more famous. I real the 33 1/3 for Armed Forces and was surprised to learn he had a racist/xenophobic streak in his past. Great music though. Someday I have to do a deep dive on the whole library.

I've gone through the entire Genesis library (90% garbage) Phil Collins library (90% low hanging fruit) Mike and the Mechanics (surprisingly good) and Peter Gabriel. The latter of which is really, the best. I had no idea what a genius he was. "So" is a near perfect album. Biko, I don't Remember, and Games Without Frontiers are bangers.
