extremely dull
So glad to revisit this. Amazing 😻
I listened to the entire album spread over several days and really enjoyed it! A cool project and I like the variety of tunes and voices.

Would be 4 stars if not for the rant about his mother on the phone.
Only for the nostalgia.
Boring
Disliked
A few really nice songs
❤️
I enjoyed the songs that played with the contrast between sweet little tune and aggressive/manic sound.
Some of the music could possibly be a bit enjoyable, but I really dislike Beck’s voice. Is his jaw wired shut while he sings?
I can appreciate how this was influential, but I do not enjoy it at all.
Ummmmmm no.
I really loved this and can’t believe this was 1977. Hearing the sounds that influenced so many of my favorite 80s bands was a real treat.
This is magnificent! I love every single song.
I did not connect with this music at all. Blah.
Lovely album! California Stars is one of my all-time favorite songs.
I’m sure it’s probably good, just not my cup of tea.
This was difficult to get through.
Just awful
Prefer his earlier work -this isn’t very interesting to me.
I enjoyed this one more than the previous Massive Attack album.
Enjoyable, but nothing I’ll revisit.
the Go-Gos evil twin.
extremely dull
Thank god they didn’t make me listen to Hotel California.
This was way too long.
Pleasant
This was pleasant, but nothing more.
🚫NO😫
Lovely voice, beautiful music for a mellow mood. 💕
The orchestra adds so much. Love this!
I love the song Jane Says, but the rest is kind of noisy for me.
Guilty pleasure … really enjoy
Brings back some memories - a lot of these songs were sung by my mom when I was growing up.
It’s enjoyable
I know this is genius, but I am not into it.
Now this was truly bizarre. I had some interest in it since I live in Illinois and the music was quite curious as well as the themes of several songs. I might actually return to this to listen more closely to some of the lyrics. Weirdly fun!
Yeah I know it’s special guitar playing, but just doesn’t do much for me.
I really enjoyed this!
Very relaxing
Very interesting music. Would like to spend more time listening to the lyrics since Scott told me it was made when he knew he was dying.
Marilyn Manson seems like a joke to me.
I love the song “Let’s stay together. The rest are fine. 7/10
One of my absolute favorite albums. The memories this brings back are priceless, but some of these songs that were not overplayed on the radio in the 80s are now also some of my favorites. I especially love “The Chauffeur.” 10/10
5/10
I really enjoyed this album! I think one of the things that I like is the unpredictability of each of the songs. Definitely not your standard repeat of chorus. Definitely Not my usual type of music; glad I listened!
This was like listening to the origin story of all the new wave bands I love.
Havalina is one of my all time favorite songs.
Didn’t realize I also like early Tom Petty, especially Breakdown, Mystery Man, American Girl.
I can appreciate this, although I would not seek it out. Glad I listened.
A few enjoyable songs
True Love ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ I’m so glad this was assigned for the weekend since I probably listened to the album 7 or 8 times. Coincidence that we got it the day after she died? Favorite songs have changed a bit since I was young - Cemetry Gates and There is a Light.
I enjoyed the songs with the go-gos vibe.
Gorgeous, moving music
I really enjoyed this album. And I didn’t even realize I liked Radiohead!
This music has always been too chaotic for me.
Much more enjoyable, than I expected!
Classic!
Jesus!
Appreciated but not really enjoyed
Some very iconic songs - I mostly love the intros and then there’s a lot of whining.
Cannot separate the nostalgia from the music. This is ❤️
Icky
🖤 Perfect Album
A very special album
The first three songs on the album are classics and amazing! It was fun to listen more closely to what the rest of the album offers
So glad to revisit this. Amazing 😻
I had no idea how much I enjoy Alice Coooer! What a nice surprise.
I’m not a Christmas music person at all.
I don’t understand why I’ve never heard of this band before when I knew half of the songs on this album.
A really great album! She Talks to Angels ❤️
Did not enjoy at all
I didn’t love this album. I guess I prefer their later work.
I thought I liked James Brown, but thoroughly disliked this one.
This was really boring
Gorgeous voice
It had been so long since I’d listened to the album in its entirety and maybe had taken for granted now amazing it is as a whole.
Jailbait. Ummm no. Gross even in 1980.
I adore this album!
Wow I’m pleasantly surprised. I don’t remember liking this so much when it was out in the 90s.
Too me this album is perfection. ⭐️☄️🤍
I appreciate, but struggle to enjoy this album. Love the Cure a few years later.
Dull
I enjoyed this more than I expected. Maybe because there are quite a few mellow songs.
I wish I knew how to appreciate this.
I’m glad I was exposed to this genre, but definitely not for me.
Dull
It’s been a long time since I’ve listened to Moby, and I have a new appreciation for his unique style. Really loved this album as a whole.
I know Living Color is objectively “good,” but I do not enjoy their sound.
Not my favorite Pet Shop Boys, but still nice.
This really grew on me
So over the top 80s!
Love, love these covers.
I listened to the entire album spread over several days and really enjoyed it! A cool project and I like the variety of tunes and voices.
I don’t love it like I did when I was in college, but still enjoyable.
I have never enjoyed Meat Loaf. Well, I like the food.
She has a lovely voice, but these songs are really boring.
I remember how unique this sound was when it first came on out. Now it doesn’t interest me much, and that album cover is really irritating.
So blah
Sleepy but enjoyable
Thoroughly enjoyed this
I enjoyed this more than I expected.
Beautiful music
That just felt silly
I guess this could work as background music.
Very enjoyable
I love The National, but this is not the album I would’ve selected.
I thought maybe I’d enjoy this, but I guess crooning = whining to my ear.
Enjoyable
Strongly disliked
Enjoyed listening to her sing the African songs, but did not like the English as much.
Really love this
I’m pretty neutral about this.
I used to really enjoy REM, but now I find them pretty dull. Some good songs, but nothing I would purposely seek out.
Bizarre but kind of interesting
Not enjoyable
I really am not a fan of this early Genesis
Fine but nothing special
Really enjoyed this album
I really liked this! Something different and fun.
This is perfect 🤩
Pretty voice
Th is was unexpected and enjoyable
I feel as though I should like this more than I do.
I goofed. Sam Cooke was supposed to get 4 stars and today’s blah should be 2. Can’t figure out any way to edit! 😑
I goofed. Sam Cooke was supposed to be 4 stars and this one a 2 blah. Doesn’t seem to be any way to edit.
Very dull
Good background music I guess
Not at all
That was fun!
Like fine wine or cheese this has aged very well! So fun to listen to again.
I kept wondering if this group sang any songs I know … and was finally rewarded with Time of the Season.
I’m conflicted - a few songs I really like and a few I really despise.
That was truly dull and maybe I don’t get it.
Really enjoyable music
Terribly dull
I am blown away. I love this concept and the execution.
I really enjoyed the variety of styles in this one album. Fun!
I’m floored. I had no idea Coolio ripped off Stevie’s song “Pastime Paradise” and then had the nerve to get peeved when Weird Al released “Amish Paradise.” Also I didn’t realize that I really enjoy Stevie Wonder.
Some of the music is pretty, but I’m not a fan of his voice.
This is wonderful
Just perfect. Probably clouded slightly by my strong memories attached to this one, but it definitely does it for me.
Such a beautiful, haunting voice.
Not for me
Overall quite enjoyable!
I did not like any of these songs.
So odd but fun
Did not enjoy
Not worth the effort to listen on YouTube. Blah.
A treasure
What a treat!
😴
The song Red Dirt Girl is tear inducing
Beautiful and timeless
I just wish she’d coordinate her voice with the music!
I could listen to James Taylor all day forever.
Obviously great music. I wish I knew how to enjoy.
“A Visit to the Gynecologist” ummm WTF no thanks.
Dull
I kept waiting for a song I liked. Didn’t really happen.
I was in the perfect mood for this today. Spectacular!
Interesting and I can imagine ahead of their time.
Good job with the drums I suppose. Not for me.
No thank you.
I enjoyed this at first but then it just got repetitive.
Huh?
Two interesting songs but most not very memorable.
Great music!
Wow! Such a clear influence on Duran Duran. Cool album.
Pleasant, but not very interesting.
This took some interesting twists and turns. Enjoyable.
Sally went around the roses one too many times.
Perfect
Really enjoyed!
Solid, but didn’t love as much as I had expected. Maybe it’s the instrumentation that’s a bit too much for me on the live versions.
It took me way too long to realize how much I love Dire Straits.
Kind of blah
It’s so crazy that this is from the 70s!
Gorgeous music
I liked Dinosaur Jr. more when I was young.
not enjoyable
I appreciate The Clash, but I don’t personally enjoy their music much.
Bonus for Soft Cell’s “Say Hello, Wave Goodbye” at the end! Love that song … both versions.
I enjoy some of this, however I prefer Bob Mould solo or in Sugar
Feels a bit dull at times. Glad to hear songs like “Fallen Eagle” to liven things up.
I feel awkward admitting that I am not a super fan of this. Obviously lots of nice songs though.
Magnificent!
I really connected with this album.
I enjoyed the education
Really enjoyed this - fun, unique.
Appreciated, but personally not my thing.
Awful
I doubt I’ll ever listen to this album in full again, but the experience was enjoyable.
Strongly dislike her voice. And most of the songs were terrible.
Pleasant
