Reviews (page 11 of 14)

Good listening, was traveling so I couldn’t read lyrics and didn’t rate each song. I enjoyed more than I thought I would

Great album. Solid, a couple of classics. Just short of being amazing.

More kickass rock and roll

Just good rock music all the way through.

Ramble on is best song. WLL is overrated. Not my favorite Zep album but solid for sure.

Classic is a work thrown around a lot when talking about Led Zeppelin. This album in a classic, from the classic rock genre by a classic band. not much else to say other than this album deserves most all of the praise it garners. some really good tunes here, and another one I'm glad I was made to listen to it.

Now you’re TALKING! Tremendous album! Proper bluesy rock! Just what you want when someone says “wanna listen to some Zeppelin?”

Good good rock, really my style. Not a song that dissapoints or becomes boring

Not entirely to my tastes, but an excellent album nonetheless.

I got into rock music just led zeppelin were being hyped as the greatest. But were they really? You bet. Lots of classic tracks here.

The classic hard rock sounds in this album are awesome! I enjoyed listening to this piece of music, but I wish there were more tracks on the album.

hell yes. this whole ass album is crackin'!

i was driving down 6th ave at night listening to this so issa vibe. would normally be a 3 but tonight it’s a 4 baby

Great album!! One of my favourite Zeppelin discs

Absolutely CLASSIC riffs. Whole Lotta Love is so iconic. Also some more bluesy sounding stuff which I liked. 4/5

the best zeppelin album.

Not much to add that 90% of the music listening population doesn’t already know. This is a solid album from an extremely solid/tight super band who were before their time. All the tracks are at least as good as any others from Zeppelins releases...and that’s saying something. 4 Stars!

That Led Zeppelin sound 👍

I’d give a 5 to JUST the Moby Dick drum solo. I’m not going to squeeze this lemon until the juice runs down my leg, the album is great. All songs are good. String rifs, great technique, etc. something tells me Robert Plant was cheated on during the recording of this album. It’s a 5.

4 i guessss but really i'd give it a 3.

I understand that drugs were used heavily during this time frame. Long solos and lots of screaming. 7 out of 10

This is not my all time favorite Zeppelin album, but the sound here gets under my skin and into my bones. I found myself dancing and singing along even though I don't really know all the words. Caught for the first time the references to Mordor and Gollum in Ramble On.

I guess I get it

Have always enjoyed the odd lep Zep album without ever getting into them fully and never really understood the legend. Liked all of this without ever really loving any of it. 3 or 4/5 not decided yet.

Lekker rocken

Casi heavy metal

The art of subtly being unsubtle... fantastic album

It has some of their best songs but it's not perfect. The last two tracks are not ones I could ever want to listen to. The weird garbled vocals on the last track and the long drawn up drum jam are just not interesting. It's sad because with some different tracks in place there this could've been a perfect album.

Classic

Like Queen but worse. Gets better towards the end.

Zeppelin is always a win. Not as good as III or IV but still good.

Cfr. "Dame un martillo" (1991) de Alejandra Guzmán. 9/10

hehe - 4

Nostalgic. Great classic rock!

Great. A little overrated in Led Zeppelin's catalogue. 4th/5th best LZ album. Riffy. 8-9/10 1. Heartbreaker 2. Living Loving Maid 3. Ramble On

Good album, the whole album is a nice chill vibe with some fun spots of jamming out.

A classic that still rocks. Always enjoyable to revisit.

Great album by one of my favorite bands. I do prefer some of their later work that had a bit more nuance and mixed the hard with the soft, but this is still great especially putting it context of the time. Really one of the first great heavy metal albums. 4 stars.

very good

Freaking awesome Like 2 songs are too slow though

Pleasantly surprised by this, I thought there were some really good jams. Favorites are probably "Whole Lotta Love" "Lemon Song" and "Moby Dick". And "Ramble On." Hard to decide on favorites here, mark of a good album.

Led Zeppelin takes me back to being a Freshman in HS. I had the phase of wearing the black t-shirts with the logos/album art on them. When Led Zeppelin is good, they are very good. When they are not good, it is almost bad to me. Many good songs on this album, but some duds as well.

Strongly suggest the Deluxe Edition as it has a lot of rough cuts, backing tracks, and other behind the scenes. That rough mix of Heartbreaker... hnnng

Classic album. If you're driving in your car and Living Loving Maid comes on and you DON'T crank it to the edge of blowing your speakers, I'm not sure you're human. Great songs throughout!!

I’ve only heard this album once, more than 30 years ago. Considering I could clearly remember parts of a couple songs having never heard them since, I’d say it left quite the impression. What a fun, testosterone-filled trip.

Another album I barely need to actually listen to, since I've been playing it pretty routinely since my teens. And frankly still thinking rocks pretty hard.

I used to not really appreciate Led Zeppelin. Perhaps it was them being overplayed on classic rock radio that turned me off. But after some friends of mine had me focus more on the rhythm section of Bonham and Jones I developed a taste for their sound. I do think it is Bonham and Jones who are the real power behind their heaviness. Their first two albums from 69 are definitely my favorites. Amazing to hear this album was recorded essentially on the fly at various studios while on the road. Listened to the deluxe edition. Ramble On might be my favorite track for the bass line, second favorite is What Is... (Also for the bassline). I feel like the demoey sounding intro to Bring it on Home kinda makes the album lose its momentum right at the end.

Good overall, but busy. Prefer more tracks you can sing along with.

A good Led zep album, but not a great one.

Arhmen det dejligt

Honestly this is my least favourite of the early great Zeppelin records. Still an amazing record, though.

Really the only thing holding this album back from the likes of Physical Graffiti and LZIV is a comparative lack of ambition, but the classics on here are still primo classics.

A mes yeux, meilleur que Led Zeppelin III.

Way better than I expected

Holder seg godt.

Heard many of these songs before. Great energy in them. What's interesting is that they're also quite complicated in their instrumentation too. It's not "normal" payoff rock. It tells you it's going one way and then goes another. Pretty rad. Every song is good. Great background music too.

So, so good man.

Such a class, Tracks 1, 4, and 7 and my jams.

i like the album but it doesn't feel spectacular, and I've heard most of it before.

Think it's fair to say classic rock radio has burned a good majority of this record into my brain. It's still tasty, and the production on this remaster I'm listening to is fantastic, especially the bass. Favorite tracks: "Bring It on Home", "Ramble On"

1969. Key Songs: Whole Lotta Love, Ramble On, What is Said and Should Never Be

3/24 More bluesy than I liked, but overall a damn great album. Standout Tracks: Whole Lotta Love, The Lemon Song, Thank You, Ramble On

Stone wall classic! Hits the spot every time.... almost like a greatest hits.

Classic, not their best but worth the hype. Standouts are Whole Lotta Love, Lemon Song and Heartbreaker. Also Jeff Buckley sang Whole Lotta Love as he walked to his end, sad little fun fact.

Im not a huge Zeppelin guy to be fair but this just might be my favorite one so far. And what's especially crazy about that is i was certain in the first few songs it would be my least favorite. Whole Lotta love is a song i know but it has this weird directionless section in the middle. And that rubbed me the wrong way. The lemon song is also one in the memory banks vut its just gross. Not into it at all lyrically speaking. But once we hit heartbreaker its all uphill. Living loving maid is a good one. And ramble on is a classic. Its just good for half of the runtime. Pretty inconsistent but still a good one all yhe same. I can ignore the things I dont like pretty easy.

bands like these always throw me off because nowadays if this music came out it would be considered like, alt-rock or borderline pop-rock. but this is?? apparently "hard rock"? sir this is pop music

This Zed Leppelin was alright

I listened to it twice and don't really remember much one way or the other. So it was a fine album, but not one that really caught my attention.

5/5 musicianship combined with overindulgent song arrangements have always made Led Zeppelin a little less enjoyable than the sum of their parts for me and this album is in keeping with that. 3.5/5

Whole lotta love is a great song, but less bothered by the rest of the album.

(4/7) could be worse

Whole Lotta Love is one of the greatest album openers of all time, but the rest doesn't live up to that track. I feel like all the things people criticize Zeppelin of can be found on this album (like 1:1 ripoffs of black musicians, LOtR fandom and impromptu sex squeaks). This was probs the Zeppelin album I was least looking forward to.

I hope this is the last of the Led Zep albums on the list, I don't hate them but no band should have more than 2 albums on this list, especially when they all sound the fucking same.

Alright, starting off with Led Zeppelin. This is a solid album, couple of classics on it. 3/5

not goin in my playlists

Solid album, Thank You was the highlight. I've never listened to Led Zeppelin in the past beyond Stairway to Heaven so this was a pleasant moment of discovery. Many fantastic riffs but also a few dissonant chromatic moments which to me felt jarring and didn't sit right with my taste.

Its a classic! but I dont listen to it often

This was fine. Nothing really standing out for me or feeling that impactful

- More pedos/SAers. - I like this one a lot more than III. - It starts out great with the first two hits (I really only like their hits). The other ones don't interest me as much - I just get tired of their sound pretty quickly. I also like Ramble On. - Really great bass throughout and some nice guitar riffs, but again, I get tired of them fast. - No thanks to a drum solo song. - I just can't listen to pedos sing about "love" or say "baby" (for obvious reasons).

Good! my favorite was ramble on or living loving maid

Good but not their best

Driving, raw rock. Heavy guitar solos.

They were the template for hard rock, an essential album, but not one that I need to go back to

+1 star more than this deserves because of Whole Lotta Love. But baby, baby, baby, baby, oh noooo is right

It is very appropriate that the first track of the first album allocated to me in this project is the song that Top of the Pops used as its theme tune for the top 10 countdown. Overall the album has the feel of a polished live performance or jam session. Makes full use of the possibilities of Stereo, with many tracks sweeping wildly widely to and fro. "Thank You" was the standout song on this for me - lovely and melodic!

Doesn't feel as iconic as their first album and was hoping for a breakout. May require further listening. I lament not being able to give half scores.

Kind of meh. There isn't much going, and "The Lemon Song" is... yeah. Very odd lyrics to most of the songs in the album.

Wednesday June 3rd, 2026. This album has some really good guitar parts - I love the bass. The lyrics didn't really resonate with me, but they are unique and interesting. 7/10

I enjoyed. Moby Dick was a really annoying song, the random banging on a drum at the end just pmo, otherwise had quite a good feel to the whole album. 3.5/5

For me, this one is far less immediately effective than IV, and honestly not as strong as the debut or Physical Graffiti. To each their own. It’s still a good album, with plenty of great moments.

Never been of a huge fan of led zeppelin for some reason. On paper I should love them and I tried to like them. An old rock and roll band with some of the most respected and talented musicien ever. I absolutely get where the praise is comming from and trust me, I would love to like them. I always tought Plant voice was annoying and sounded stupid. That paired with the cheesy lyrics doesnt help. Average led zeppelin song: OoooOOOOooOoohhh baby baby baby I love yoooou *worst guitar solo ever* That said they have amazing songs. "Heartbreaker" is a fucking banger. But overall theyrs too much crap man...Not just on this album, on all of their discography. And im sorry but Jimmy page is such an overrated guitarist. Hes just spamming random blues licks all the time. I dont find him interesting at all. He also did made great stuff, like the "Stairway to heaven" solo wich is obviously really good. Wanna whole lotta mid/5

Look, Zeppelin are great, is this their greatest album, no, are there some great songs on this, without a doubt. Should you listen to it, most definite

Just not a big Zeppelin fan

Just not my fave

Heartbreaker

At last I enjoyed a Led album, listening to the 1001 albums has brought me into the “Blues rock” side of Zeppelin- read about John Bonnin yesterday, very sad at 32, then the band disbanding in respect🙌

Someone, release the nipples of the vocalist

Just some pretty classic rock ramble on, heartbreaker and whole lotta love all slap, although I’m not a fan of the middle bit of whole lotta love, or the drum solo on moby dick 3.5

The received wisdom about Led Zeppelin is true: they shamelessly ripped off black musicians, they're all creeps, and about 75% of their songs are just Robert Plant repeating "baby baby baby baby..." over indulgent drum fills and guitar solos. I did kinda like this album though...

seggs out of 10

I'm not a fan of Led Zeppelin. It feels like a very long 40 minutes. 2.5

Aye grand

Couple of great ones but not as good as IV 3.5

Not their best one but a decent listen

Song one started great ... then just became them futzing around for a few minutes .. then returned to good.

I like Zeppelin in small doses. When they hit, they hit well, but there's a lot of misses that just annoy me. Whole Lotta Love is still a banger. And I've pretty sure I've heard the riff from Heartbreaker in a movie before. I guess this album is just average to me. so a 3

My loyal readership knows two things: The fact that I hate white guy blues, and the fact they they in fact, do not exist. Now what that legion of imaginary readers may not know, is that blues INFLUENCE, is actually pretty great. We're not trying to be Muddy Waters or Lightnin' Hopkins, but you can hear that they might have had a small part to paly in the formation of this music. The bizarre order in which I have now listened to these albums (III, IV, II) and without the reference point of the first Led Zeppelin record, has made it difficult to see the progression. This release feels more psychedelic, and when it picks up steam, it really rocks. If you try to imagine what it would be like to have heard this in 1969, it will blow your fuckin' mind. Heartbreaker in 1969??? Fuck. That's two swears. I get one more. uhhh PISS! I got nothing else. I rue the passage of time, as it dilutes even the most potent of expression. Led Zeppelin II hits these ears as dated, but behind the faded façade, you can see pieces of the once revolutionary tapestry that was put to tape here. 3.5 HIGHLIGHTS: You guys wanna go to the amusement park? Yeah they've got this American civil war photo thing, I was thinking it could be our album cover.

Led Zeppelin IV is amazing, but this didn't land for me. First track aside, proper banger, the rest was on the mellow side (Moby Dick was good though). Nice riffs, some jams, the drums are certainly noteworthy. I was a bit disappointed.

Very good

Classic!

You can hear how tight this band already is. 𝘓𝘦𝘥 𝘡𝘦𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯 𝘐𝘐 sounds confident and direct, built around big riffs and strong performances, but the heavy blues influence starts to feel a bit limiting after a while. It hits hard at first, then settles into a pattern that doesn’t change much. There are clear highlights — 𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗮 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 stands out immediately, and there are stretches where everything just clicks. But in between, it leans a lot on the same ideas, which starts to feel repetitive after a while. Nothing here is badly done — the playing is great throughout — but I don’t find myself that engaged over a full listen. It’s solid, just not something I’d come back to often.

Great songs but not a complete listening.

I liked I better.

Look, I went through a huge Led Zeppelin fan girl phase in high school, and I do still love them, but listening to this a fully grown adult I’m kind of over a lot of it. Zeppelin III and IV will always be my favorites and this one just isn’t holding up to me. I will probably always prefer Zeppelin’s quieter and nerdier LOTR themed songs. I still love Ramble On and Thank You. But my patience for their cockier, ripped off from Southern blues songs has worn thin. Lemon Song sounds particularly ridiculous to me these days. Three stars for the nostalgia, but probably more accurately a 2.5

Some good songs, but overall they were pretty repetitive

pretty good, some of the lyrics made me uncomfortable

me gustó bastante, tiene 2 canciones que reconoci

I can’t imagine what ‘Whole Lotta Love’ would be like performed live. There is just a whole lotta shouting, loud instruments, and pauses???

Solid album, but lowkey every song kinda sounds the same.

Buen album

I appreciate them of course but have never been a fan

I dunno, this is just more led zepplin. I think their middle era stuff is better but there's some cool bluesy rock here too and everyone in the band is just so fucking sick at that

Unfortunately, as good as the good songs on this record are, I think the level of absolute stinkers on it bring it down from a 4 to a 3.

very rocky

Pretty good but a bit indulgent in parts

Not a fan of the vocals on this album but musically it was reasonably interesting and had some decent riffs. Lyrics were pretty naff... Very little of it was new to me, and the bits that were weren't all that good, like Moby Dick which was... dull.

Generally good. Moby Dick stood out to me as a bad song because who likes long drum solos...? I mean probably some people I'm just a solo hater. Led Zeppelin were clearly ahead of their time but coming in as a new listener nothing here is that impressive Mid 3

It’s Led Zeppelin. It has 2 outstanding songs. You all know them and can probably sing them. There are 5 mid-tier tracks. They are likable enough. They definitely sound like Led Zeppelin. Everything about these tracks screams average. They are songs designed to fill out the record. Then there are 2 songs that are just shitty. In fact, so shitty, they offset all of the good will produced by the 2 classic tracks. So, I’m transparent, the 2 shitty songs on this record are easily identifiable: The Lemon Song and Moby Dick with its interminable fucking drum fucking solo. So, it’s not a great record. It’s good and 2 tracks too long. 3/5

Some great songs on here, just not sure it develops much from Led Zep I. Still, it's hard to argue with a band that wrote the TOTP theme tune but never released a single! 3 - deserves to be on this list

Felt less significant and more freewheeling than the other Zeppelin album on here

Unlike what most music fans probably think, I find *Led Zeppelin II* to be the band’s most boring and weakest album. Too much blues, too much posing, too many swaggering guitar solos and “every inch of my love”. Yes, I know, that’s what many people love about rock ’n’ roll, but it’s also exactly what bores me out of my mind. Fortunately, the band has made far better albums. Highlights: Ramble on, Thank you.

It was ok.

I tried for years, but the truth is that I don't really enjoy Led Zeppelin. All the ingredients are there (the absolutely godlike rhythm section in particular), but they just never clicked for me, right from their debut and all the way to Physical Graffiti, so I've definitely given them a fair shake. I really dislike Robert Plant, so it could be down to that. There are a couple of tracks here I really dislike and it's mostly down to him. I do have to point out that this album is probably my personal favourite out of all of them, but I have to revisit the rest because it's been a while. Favourite track - The Lemon Song

It sounds like the music they put in American movies when the lead role is waking up and doing his morning routine. It sounds decent but it’s not something I’d genuinely listen to, unless, you know, if i’m trying to imagine that i’m a lead role in an American movie!

Led Zeppelin are an icon. That being said, I feel v meh about this album.

This album is decent. I like it but overhyped

I really wanted to love this album. Partly because I enjoy rock and Led Zeppelin are considered by many to be one of the most influential and well regarded rock bands. But also partly because people that I know and respect really like Led Zeppelin. But unfortunately it was not really for me. Robert Plant's vocals are truly incredible and perfect. But I find his straining high pitched voice challenging to listen to for a full 40 minutes. The solos are really over indulgent and tracks like "Moby Dick", just feel really off putting to me. I understand how much talent is required to do it. But it still feels like a slog to get through it. My take away from the album is very much in this vain. Its really impressive and showcases a wealth of talent. But I'm not sure I want to spend my evenings listening to it. (3.000)

This is definitely heavier in sound than IV, so +1 star for that. Their overwhelming acclaim continues to elude me however, to my taste they never reach the highs of, say, Black Sabbath. Standout: The Lemon Song

love the guitar! i feel like it meets the hype bc i never thought i would love this kind of music but it’s lowk okay if i’m in the mood.

Not my favourite Led Zeppelin album, but still good.

I only really listened to a couple Led Zeppelin songs. So, this was a very good introduction for me. Loved ever second of this album! I adored 'Thank You', 'Heartbreaker' and 'Ramble On'.

listened to it getting ready to go out for st. paddy's day drinks. long guitar solos were nostalgic.

Album was alright. I like the vocals and guitar for Led Zeppelin but this album didn’t really catch me the way some of there others do.

Had some good hard hitters but didn't grab me as much as I was hoping

2 led Zeppelin in a row wowzers

Nice album, i like most of tracks. Sometimes they are too long for my taste but anyway. Another thing - Jimmy Page is fking riff machine, his riffs are so catchy. 7/10

I think it's good music but I don't really like Plant's voice on high notes. Their chiller songs are much nicer.

I wasnt listening quite that actively, but i liked the instruments, sometimes the voice was a bit shrill

Pas mal pas mal

Leuke opener, die kende ik natuurlijk. Verder een prima album. Niet heel bijzonder eigenlijk. Soms best vervelende geluiden

I find Zeppelin 1 and 2 to be very overrated. Zeppelin 3 and onwards is when the band became great

Classic ofc, but suprisingly did not like many of the guitar solos

Not my favorite Zeppelin album. 1 and 4 are way better. Still solid, some ideas go on for a little too long though.

It grows on you.

Mix of a lot of genius and a lot of pretty goofy ideas.

Love Zeppelin; not my favorite from them lyrically though.

It's Led Zeppelin! It's just great. Some classics and some other stuff when in

Even though I know that Led Zeppelin is legendary, somewhere in the back of my mind, I also saw them as corny, probably because I don't listen to this style of music very much. But giving this album listen, I found that, wallet did seem that way on the surface, there is a lot of talent and rhythmic interest on display. I like the drummer a lot and the bass player isn't bad as well. The guitar lines are memorable and the guitar is used in creative ways. They have a distinct style, but they're skilled enough to keep it from being repetitive. I didn't mind the long-form compositions because there was decent variety. Ramble on is an amazing song, the verses and chorus contrast each other very well. It makes me want to keep singing my song. 7/10

Who knows what I would have given this, if I hadn't heard half of these songs 1,000 times each, but, anyway, I'm gonna give it 3 stars, perhaps deducting a little for taking up too much of my music listening time. ;) Also, for Robert Plant's voice, which I used to hate, and still don't love. And also for stealing from blues guys (similar to Elvis). One of my all-time favorite blues songs is "Killing Floor," by Howlin Wolf, featuring the great Hubert Sumlin playing some killer guitar. "The Lemon Song" is lifted directly from this (but nowhere near as good). Two other songs are at least partially credited to the great blues musician and songwriter, Willie Dixon. Also, the lesser-known songs on this album are pretty mediocre.

I'm sure it should deserve a higher score for its cultural significance. But I'm just rating it on a listen and I think its good.

Not too bad, a little disappointing as this album has one of rock's real classics (Whole lotta love) but little else to make me listen again

Zone out a fair bit. It's just meh for me

Not as good as IV, but still decent

Classic Led.

Just okay. Maybe was not in the mood to be open but was not an emotionally resonant experience. The lighter more acoustic moments felt realer to me than the grandiose big songs. Faves: Tangerine, That’s the Way, Since I’ve Been Loving You, Gallows Pole

Probably my least favourite Zeppelin album. Might be JPJ's best bass album though.

I’ve heard of Led Zeppelin Favorites: Whole Lotta Love, What Is and Should Never Be, Ramble On Thoughts: I think I like hard rock more than “classic” rock. This album definitely resonated more with me than Bob Dylan. Not my cup of tea every day of the week, but I’d like the energy on Saturday mornings.

Led Zep have just always been there, I can’t honestly distinguish between most of the first handful of albums, they’re just good solid rock albums

Probably should rate this a 4 but I don't LZ is really my jam

I know that this is a classic album but half the songs on this album are like: Ooh da da bada boo yeah yeah, baby! Over some bluesy guitar and syncopated drums. It’s not all bad, but god it is ever into itself. I like Thank You and Ramble On by themselves but just sitting and listening to a whole album of this is not for me.

Not that memorable of a led Zepp

Strong start strong finish this was a delight to listen to.

*1969. *Whole Lotta Love, Lemon Song, and Ramble On. *Wanted to give this 4-5 stars before diving into it, but just didn't do it for me. Will revisit. RATING - 6.5/10

Straight classic rock. Not as good as some of there other works but jimmy page working his magic as usual

On kovia. You gotta get foolin' get back to school in! Conan laulaa tätä aina välillä

It's Led Zeppelin so what can you say. Not a big fan of Plants' voice but the music is good and you can't deny their influence...

Led Zeppelin is the worst of good classic rock. I can't say they're bad, but I would not purchase this album if I was 19 years old in 1969.

I don’t hate Zeppelin but they’ve just never really done it for me

Usually when I listen to some seminal band I find that I enjoy the deeper cuts more than the shit I’ve heard over and over. Not the case with Led Zeppelin, I don’t need the deep cuts AND I’m tired of the hits.

love, mais pas mon pref

Lost it's lustre over time. The plagiarism and dubious behaviour don't help.

It took me a couple of tries to listen through this album because I wasn't in the mood for it, and my first attempt ended with a splitting headache (not promising, I know, but I'm determined to give the album a fair shake). If I'm being honest, the vocals were always what prevented me from getting into this band, as the instrumentation is usually quite interesting with awesome guitar riffs, but something about Plant's shrieky vocals are unpleasant to me. It's hard to put a finger on what exactly I don't like about it; I do sometimes enjoy heavy music with screamed vocals, so it's not just the volume. The song "What is and What Never Should Be" is emblematic of this problem for me. The band gets into such a good, satisfying groove that I want to enjoy but Plant shrieking "baby baby baby" on top of the mix just worming into my ears in a very irritating manner (and that's not the only song in which he does that with the same lyric). I think it doesn't help that the lyrics on some of these songs are often very surface-level and showing no attempt to make the mode of delivery seem appropriate ("Whole Lotta Love" & "The Lemon Song"). There are some notable exceptions, and I much prefer the more descriptive, mysterious lyrics on songs like "Ramble On", with its Middle-Earth references. I think what I've typed here is more harsh than I meant it, but this is a band for which I missed the boat and I just don't love it the way others do (by way of explanation, I'm a millennial).

I had no idea 2 Cellos based their adaptation of the 9th symphony on the first track of this album. Lol Moby dick is a percussionist's love child.

Grooving, great instrumentals and beats. “Ramble on” stood out.

Some definitively iconic jams, and some really awesome guitar playing. Overall, Led Zeppelin can drag on just a bit too much for my taste. Best Track: Thank You

Enjoyed revisiting this. Haven't heard it since I was a kid (although obviously some tracks get carted out here and there and Whole Lotta Love has been (over)played to infinity - still a banger). Some aspects feel pretty sublime. Some tremendous baselines. The heaviness with the lushness. I find the hark back/appropriative blues vibes a bit eugh and the gender outlook very bleugh. As a kid I enjoyed the Lord of the Rings references, and why not I guess, but it feels a bit jembley now. Actually Led Zep are defo in the mix for very early proto jemble vibes! I also didn't realise this was (just) released in the 60s, which actually makes a lot of sense, it sounds out of 69.. and also definitely puts them at the forefront of some rock'n'roll developments as far as it goes.

A bit underwhelmed overall, but that's a me issue as it's clear this album is a "classic". Some good songs and the music is overall fantastic, but I just can't get on with the voice. Best song on the album is Whole Lotta Love, which is a shame as its the opener.

Another entry by the most overrated band in the history of music. Led Zeppelin I is terrible; II is better, but still not great. There are three good songs on this album; Whole Lotta Love, Heartbreaker and Living Loving Maid. Of the first two, the band still couldn’t resist the temptation to fill a minute or two with unnecessary, random riff filler. The guitar hooks are fantastic though. Living Loving Maid is Led Zeppelin’s best song, in my opinion. Catchy and fun. I still can’t understand why this band is so revered. You have to get through twenty minutes of mediocre to get three minutes of quality. It’s not even average, it’s a mixed bag.

Solid. Not particularly memorable, however. Most songs seem to bleed together.

Thought it was decent enough - don’t quite get the elevated status of the group

#239/1001. Let's do this review in a format of yellow-press tabloid headlines: ROBERT PLANT FALLS OUT OF BED AFTER GROUPIE SQUEEZES HIS LEMON TOO HARD BAND BORROWS BLUES, FORGETS TO RETURN IT, EVERYONE PRETENDS NOT TO NOTICE FOUR MUSICIANS, 30 STUDIOS, ONE ALBUM — ZEPPELIN RECORD II TO FILL THE WORLD WITH LOVIN' BAND ADMITS THEY “CAN’T QUIT YOU BABY,” PROCEEDS TO TOUR ANYWAY JIMMY PAGE SUMMONS RIFFS SO HEAVY THEY WARP TIME, SPACE, AND BLUES HISTORY LEATHER-CLAD MEN POSE LIKE BIKERS, ACTUALLY WWI FLYING ACES — NO ONE CHECKS BONHAM HITS DRUMS LIKE HE’S ARGUING WITH GOD — GOD LOSES STEREO PANNING PSYCHEDELIC MOANS - INSIDE-JOB FOR BACKDOOR MEN? An fun and amazing album, quite some hyped songs in my opinion Fav songs - Whole Lotta Love, Thank You 3/5

Probably in the minority that doesn’t really care about Led Zeppelin, they’re influential and their music is technically pretty good, but I just never really clicked with much of what they’ve done. This is kinda no exception, there’s a few good songs here but nothing I can really say I’ll actively seek out again.

Whole lotta love was nice, it reminded me of a friend who played this once, i didn't know the name of the song then. Others are pretty decent since this genre is really new to me.

Zeppelin comma Led. A major oversight of mine. I do like the sound of the album, lyrics are garbage though. Better than a lot of the blues rock I've heard on this list. Haven't been missing much. 3 Heard before? Some Owned: Yes: 41/168(24%) Will I get No.

Incredible ending.

Led Zeppelin II: a solid group of blues rock/metal tracks. It's an important record because of the influence it had on later work. I don't really like Led Zeppelin the way I did once, so I found some of it (like the vocals) a little annoying. And at this point I really don't need to hear "Whole Lotta Love" again. But I did enjoy much of it, like "Ramble On." 3/5: objectively good but not really my thing these days

Couple of good ones, overall great!

yeah it was alr

Another classic, i like the closing song a lot. A good summer album

Not really my thing nothing against it, a bit jazzy at times

41m 9 songs A lot of guitars

Haven’t heard this since high school. Thought it was mind blowing back then. Still holds up for the most part just not what I’m into anymore.

I love Robert Plant's voice. Most songs are catchy and nostalgic. "Moby Dick" is a little odd. Album would be much more enjoyable if the band had fewer disturbing sexual allegations, coupled with the sleezy lyrics featured in many of the songs.

STOP GIVING ME LED ZEPPLIN ALBUMS IVE ONLY JUST GOTTEN OVER 30 ALBUMS IN AND THIS IS MY THIRD AND I DONT LIKE THEM I don’t know if the rng hates me or is trying to get all the Zepplins out of the way so I don’t have to worry about them later. I just looked it up and there’s 5 of them. I understand they’re a classic band but they all sound the same to me. Maybe I’m ignorant on rock history but is there really enough going on here to warrant 5 of their albums? I know a decent amount of people really like them, but there are bands on this list I love that should have had less albums included. Wait this is kinda good why didn’t they just include this one. I’m not going back to this one I think but it was better.

Better, or at least more familiar, than Physical Graffiti. I felt like there was a folky foundation that I found some solace in. Like PG, the guitar is amazing throughout & the drums on Moby Dick go crazy. A solid album & I could definitely see how this is someone's cuppa.

Was zum ....

nice listen nothing remotely bad on this project however I’ve come to realize that bands like Led Zeppelin I don’t gravitate towards to.

Good, and I’m glad I listened to it, but not a repeat for me. I understand why people like this though!

On track for greatness but not there yet

For me, this was nearly as good as LZIV. A couple great songs on here but the rest were not for me. Top Songs: Ramble On

Fun songs, not really my typa music so I probably wouldn't listen again.

It’s a rock album unfortunately I still don’t love that genre. The lyrics and vocals just don’t call to me but other than the limitations of their area of music I love the instrumentals in this album I would give it a 4 if it was just that. Phenomenal job there.

Men principen hellre fälla än fria får gälla.

Good album, lots of energy. Not my favorite but good if I need a kick

More bluesy than I was expecting. Very Led Zeppelin though. Couple of classics, and some bluesy numbers. How many orgasms did Robert Plant have in the making of this album?

The worst and best moments of classic rock all in one album

please, robert, i dont need more inches of your love

3.4/5 decent, has some standout songs but as a whole not crazy enjoyable

Not bad but not memorable for me upon first listen

Too horny.

Good album.

pretty cool

Blues rock, only so much I can take.. Thank You has some vestige of Stairway to Heaven Moby Dick is a relatively fun instrumental - oh it descends into a drum solo... Bring It On Home is remarkably similar to KGLW's Daily Blues Best track (other than Whole Lotta Love) - Thank You, Bring It On Home 3 stars

Not crazy about this tbh. It's like 70% of something

I fear that this one missed the pitchfork top 100 of the 70s for a reason. Just not nearly as interesting as 4, physical graffiti, or houses of the holy. But whole lotta love is FANTASTIC not sure I’ve ever listened past the like basic riff and chorus. Like a 3.5 for me.

Not a Led Zeppelin fan really, but this has a lot of good tracks that I continually hear on the local 'Classic Rock' station over and over and over for the past 30 years. Maybe that's why I'm not a huge fan.

not bad but definitely not really my thing, always enjoy the guitar

Some good. Some not so good.

I really did not care for Led Zeppelin I, so number 2 surprised me. The music is a lot of fun. Robert plant is still very unpleasant to listen to.

Hey guess what this exercise is telling me? I'm the only person in the world who probably liked Led Zeppelin more when they were younger. I used to be spellbound. Page was my favourite guitarist. Now even ignoring all the dodgy stuff I've learned about the band since I don't even like Page's playing that much now. Don't get me wrong, this album has loads of great stuff but I've never loved it. It doesn't hold together and - this is going to sound stupid from someone who loves prog - a fair amount is just self indulgent. Pretty damning review yet... Still 3 stars.

Rocking and rolling. Classic blues rock album with all the unmistakable elements of the Led.

3+ Stars (9/15)

Did not finish but it was pretty cool. Heavier metal than I find generally palatable but good high energy. Lots of sex talk which I find a little off putting but I guess that's one of the pillars of rock and roll.

Classic rock

Zeppelin, Zeppelin is here!

Iconic album. Some hits and some I didn’t know. Good mix of stadium rock guitar riffs with some cool psychedelic aspects in some songs, and some blues riffs in there too. Felt like a very cohesive album. I like.

Enjoyable, just was fun. Nothing much more to say. Some songs were more abstract than I expected.

Baby baby baby baby... Etc. yep, sounds like Zeppelin.

Led Zeppelin were one of those bands I loved as a teen. I had lyrics to some of their songs pinned on my desk cork board. I watched the Becoming Led Zeppelin documentary earlier in the year and recommend it to any fans out there. This album certainly has a few classic tracks on, but is not their best album in my mind. Tracks such as Whole Lotta Love are fantastic, but the overall album probably lands as a 3.

Fourth fav zeppelin album for me. I like 1 a lot better, but this having the same vibe still ranks it high. This is Zeppelin at 75% capacity. 7.5/10

I like that this album is less bluesy than their debut album. You can tell some of the progression. I like "What is and What Should Never Be"

Hypnotic, riffs.

Might come back to it one day

3.5/5. Cava

This record is so full of undeniably classic hard rocking riffs that I can almost forgive Robert Plant’s vocal sexual assault.

Out of I and IV that i've listened to so far, this is def the weakest one IMO. didn't grab me the same ways the others have so far. def cool parts and all. I do wonder though, what's the importance in listening to all 4 of them, it's not like they are too different from each other imo.

I would love to give this less than a three, but I cannot deny it

Definitely more hard rock reinterpretations of older blues music, but it’s done with such skill and confidence, none of this plays like plagiarism. However, like a lot of records of this era, some of this is just the live set which maybe was a satisfying listen back in the day hearing Page rip, etc, but today it’s just album filler. And then there’s the English folk stuff, which I just have never had an interest in. Also lol that pick noise in the pick-ups on Moby Dick...irritating! I'd give it a 2.5 but that's not available here.

Fun, catchy with great beats and strings

I think its a solid album but just not the best led Zeppelin album

Pretty good.

Rock hierarchy. You get pulled in 🤘

I like this one more than Physical Graffiti. It still had its slow, meandering parts, but I generally felt it was better.

Didn’t love it, but can’t say I hated it either

Spotify seems incapable of playing an entire album. I must heard Whole Lotta...multiple times, the rest of the album is a mystery. What I did hear reminded me of the Stones album from earlier. I can understand why drugs played a key part in this era's culture.

Classic

If someone put this on, didn’t tell you who it was, and asked you to rate it, would this be a 4.12 (current rating)? No way. This is an important record in the development of rock music, but it’s not good at all by today’s standards. Not bad either, but definitely not over 4 stars. Favorite song: living loving maid

Fumbling towards becoming who they would be, mixing up blues, folk, and rock. Some works well, and some rambles a bit

It’s another 3 from me
