Moj 2. Najljubsi radiohead album. We have history
Amazing
Wow, I don't much listen to rock or alternative but this takes you to a new headspace. Very ethereal, easy listening. Loved it a lot.
Obviously 5 stars…
One of the best ever- Radiohead at its finest.
trivial
This sums up the best of Radiohead for me. Dips back to their live band-y kind of roots while incorporating many of the forward-thinking elements introduced with Kid-A. This is my personal fav of their records.
This has been one of the best experiences listening to an album. Every song feels comforting in a weird way, where I felt like I was being held in a warm hug, but also sad at the same time. I had never given Radiohead a chance, but after listening to this album I can say that they are worth listening.
My favorite from all the albums we’ve gotten so far
Perfection
This album feels like it's integrated into my DNA at this point.
Wat een week. Weer 5 sterren.
Top album. Synth en gitaar tone zijn otherworldly hier
Nude, Weird Fishes, Jigsaw, Reckoner en All I Need zijn allemaal top 10-waardige Radiohead nummers.
This album was my first real experience with Radiohead and I’m very grateful for it. This album is such a gloomy album and I love it.
Great music to drown too
Heard it many times over the years. A classic. Excited to hear it again. ---- Yep. Even better than I remember.
Phenomenal album of course. I bought it the day it came out as a pay-what-you-want fee. I paid $9 and it was worth way more.
A banger! My fav Radiohead record, such an intense and specific vibe of psychedelic melancholy that runs through the whole thing with such a brilliant sense of momentum. I love the tectures on this record and the guitar lines especially. Thom Yorke is a walloper but because of records like this he can still stay
Jigsaw falling into the place best. Worst track is Faust arp
Utter peak. Radioheads second best album imo. Literally nothing bad to say about it. 5 stars A very strong 9 out of 10
Although I personally think this album isn't the band's best work, it is still undeniably a masterpiece. Perhaps it's because of the way I listen to, and understand music, but I find that this album is one where each song can work incredibly well as itself - it's amazing, but I find that the work doesn't create new meaning when grouped as an album(unlike a majority of Radiohead's work). Nevertheless, this album is filled with some beautiful tracks - some of my all time favourites. The album is quite simply banger after banger. So, so good from all of the tracks. 15 Step, Bodysnatchers(such a good guitar riff) and Nude(which is simply just beautiful) are amazing tracks, and they only just start the album off. It doesn't stop, with Weird Fishes/Arpeggi and All I Need next, both of which i've listened to obsessively at different points in my life. I think Faust Arp is still good, but I don't care much for the studio version. However Reckoner, House of Cards and Jigsaw Falling Into Place are all amazing tracks, and again ones I've listened to repeatedly. Videotape is a beatiful way to finish off the album, and a lovely shift in intensity after Jigsaw Falling Into Place (so I suppose it really does work well as an album in places). To conclude, another amazing album. Which isn't a surprise considering how much I like this band.
Amazing. New sounds every album as always
My favorite Radiohead for a reason. It's got a great mix of catchy/almost fun (for Radiohead) and depressing. Nude is crazy Shakespearean gorgeous and Weird Fishes is also like insanely beautiful All I Need is heartfelt and tender and Jigsaw Falling Into Place is one of my favorite songs it's fast paced but also sad and emotionally unique i think. Videotape is good too. House of Cards is classic but not my favorite really. It's all impressive though. Perfect you might even say? 15 step is funny it has that "yay!" and the et cetera et cetera idk i think radiohead synthesizes modern sound well into their music it's wonderful it's fresh it's great
Listened to before. Favs are weird fishes, all I need, and jigsaws. 9/10
The Super Mario N64 version clears.
Feels like a great gig - hectic start - settle in - interesting - varied
wanted to kms
I’ve only very recently started listening to post ok computer and it’s all amazing. Making up for lost time. Whoopies on that hot take haha
Second or third most favorite Radiohead album? A damn good one in any case.
Love it so much I’m sad now
Just an amazing album. Experimental while not just for the sake of it. Really trascends the genre. 5/5
Loved the kids dancing perfect album
Was prepared to feel underwhelmend by this but listened all the way through and loved it. Dissonance on tracks like All I Need was amazing. Maybe understand why people love Radiohead - cannot imagine how intense this would be if nostalgia was an element for me.
Incredible. Flawless beauty. No skips
Really good of course, but I've always thought this was a bit hit and miss, but of course more hits than misses, and some of the hits are some of their best moments I think. Recording wise I think this is probably their best-produced album (I love the vocal reverb/drum production). I the electronic effects work much better than on Kid A, like the weird resampled drums in 15 step (which is one of the coolest sounds ever maybe), basically all the stuff Johnny Greenwood did probably. Not too keen on bodysnatchers or videotape, and never really have been, I think I see why people don't like Thom Yorke's vocals on those, but he's obviously a great singer, and songs like all I need and Jigsaw falling into place are maybe his pinacle. Favourite songs: all but bodysnatchers and videotape.. Overall arounr 9/10
I could listen to this album over and over, and it will always make me feel all the feels. I will never be able to unlive the memories this album reawakens every time I listen to it.
Absolute masterclass
Such a delightful listen. Has a nice sad sound
Yea
I feel like ascending into the unknown.
The morning this came out, I entered £40 into the ‘pay what you want’ box to get the boxset. Many of these songs had been on live bootlegs over the previous year so expectations were high. I downloaded the mp3s, loaded them onto my iPod and got on the bus to uni. I remember that journey so clearly. It’s weird how great music does that… turns mundane days into lasting memories.
Heard before challenge. For years, this was one of my favorite Radiohead albums. I've fallen slightly out of love with it recently but this is still one of their best works. "Videotape" might just be their best song.
Uh may zing
Min lille hjerne eksploderede.
Probably easy 5 stars today, only because, gladly, I already had time to properly listen to this one a year ago, it wouldn't have been enough time if I haven't. Also, I am a bit regretting giving Public Enemy 4 stars yesterday which shouldn't even be part of this review! Anyway, beautiful album
Classic

Banger after banger, weird fishes one of the best songs of all time
le miel ne moisit jamais
10000/10, really one of the best albuns ever!!!
Perfect. It's a shame I can't rate it 6 stars
Lully
One of the best albums of all time. Sonically and emotionally dense, and without a misstep from the first moment to the last. Really builds on everything the band had done leading up to this. Reckoner remains my favourite on the album, but so many other top picks throughout.
is this the best one or 2nd best?
One of the best if not the best album to come out in 2007
This album is the source of many core memories
#1, no notes, maybe a little too short
Erster Eindruck: radiohead tatsächlich Lieblingssong: „jigsaw fallen into place“!! (Lieblingszeile:) Overall Rating: 9/10 Andere Anmerkungen: „Faust Arp“ und „bodysnatchers“ waren mir noch nicht bekannt, aber haben mir auch sehrr gefallen, Gitarre toll toll
Amazing Album, 10/10
albumsazo
first album of the experience which I discovered thanks to Pascal. A banger to start it of with and great to wrap up a work day
An incredible album from the moment it was bizzarely released for a price of your own choosing online. Betters OK Computer & Kid A for me due to having no duff songs and the programming drums, riffs & mood of so many of the tracks is jawdropping. Wierdly the first two songs could be the weakest, but I like it as an album that seemingly gets better as it goes on, it's the opposite of how modern albums now work, where they have to grab you quickly with short attention span streaming.
LOVEEEE
I love radio head. This is actually and awesome album. Lots of good songs. They are a bit more emotional but I like that.
Capital L Love this album. There's not a single "skip" song on it for me.
One of my favorite albums of all time. Incredible tension and release in the music. In my opinion the perfect clean guitar tone throughout.
i just love this. so many wonderful songs
Perfect
soul ripping. gut-wrenching
AMAZING LOVELY BEUATIFUL SPECTACULAR

10/10
Probably my favorite Radiohead
One of Radiohead's best albums, although I cannot remember what I paid at the time.
The level of creativity and innovation on this album is just unbelievable. But the songs never lose their humanity, in part due to the vulnerable vovsls and lyrics. There's a reason nobody else sounds like Radiohead - they're generational talents right up there with the Stones and the Beatles.
Easiest 5/5 so far. One of the best albums of all time.
I listened to their album "OK Computer" a while back and I didn't enjoy it that much to be honest, however this was a completely different experience. Fantastic album, that I had never listened to before, right up my alley. So many hauntingly beautiful songs on here. My favorites for now being "Nude" and "Videotape". I had heard of the album before but how I have not listened to this before is beyond me. Great album.
Fun, colorful, mostly upbeat vibey music.
Radiohead just always does it for me. Truly great album - what more can I say
Bangs so good
Favvvv
Basically the most accessible and well beloved Radiohead album ever.
Radiohead's last truly great album, and depending on my mood, might edge out OK Computer or Kid A as my favourite. Nude->Weird Fishes->All I Need alone might be one of the best stretches they've ever done. There's arguably nothing innovative here, but there's not a bad song on here (and that goes for the bonus tracks on Disc 2 as well.) It's meticulously mixed and produced, sounding warm and dynamic and organic, the flourishes perfectly balanced. The songs themselves are diverse but strangely cohesive, with some of Thom's most beautiful vocals and less alienating, more-relatable lyrics. There's something oddly comforting about this one. A very easy 5/5.
Such a good album I always enjoy Radiohead
I mean.....what is there to say? Maybe Radiohead found some sort of artifact that made them pinpoint every song off this album, maybe they asked some higher power to help them. Either way, flawless album dude, straight to the point every song. 10/10
Sometimes, there’s an album you’ve heard so many times that listening to it feels like background music now. That’s basically how this went. I don’t think this is a straight 10 as a lot of people do, more like a 9.5. But I’m gonna round it up anyway and give it that anyway because A. It has Jigsaw Falling Into Place which is already my 2nd favorite song ever recorded and B. It’s In Rainbows (10/10, 5/5 on this scale)
Ya lo escuché y tiene algunas de mis canciones favoritas like ever. all i need, nude, jigsaw falling into place. perfect album i wish i had it on cd
Masterpiece!!
One of the best albums that I’ve listened to, everything from the composition of the music to the sounds is just perfect.
Radiohead: In Rainbows Every so often, an album comes along that feels less like a collection of songs and more like a physical environment. In Rainbows is a stunning, atmospheric masterpiece that represents the absolute pinnacle of "thought-provoking" production. Following in the emotional footsteps of tracks like "Let Down," this record adds a soulful, vulnerable layer to Radiohead’s sound that is almost impossible to put into words. It is warm, organic, and technically flawless. The musicianship here is staggering, particularly during the back half of the record. The five-song run from "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi" through to the haunting finale of "Videotape" is perhaps one of the greatest sequences in modern music history. However, the crown jewel is undoubtedly "Reckoner." It is a song that feels suspended in mid-air—a perfect blend of intricate percussion and Thom Yorke’s most ethereal vocal performance. This isn't just an album; it’s an out-of-body experience. It bridges the gap between complex art-rock and raw human feeling so seamlessly that it leaves the listener, quite literally, "on Mars." A definitive, perfect 5/5 and the undisputed highlight of the challenge so far.
The album that made me properly become a Radiohead fan.
Best song: Jigsaw falling into place Favourite song: Weird Fishes
I know it already I have it in cd 😂
Probs best radiohead album Stand out - Jigsaw, Nude, Videotape
One of my favorite albums of all time!
I’ve loved this album since it came out when I was in college. My only regret is not seeing Radiohead on this tour. Still fantastic all these years later.
Pero chsm el thom
i guess you either vibe with their sound or you don't! fortunately, i really do. i love radiohead but this is the first time i actually sat down and listened to this whole album from start to finish. i'm so glad that i did, i felt surrounded by the sounds, completely transported.
oh brother
Perfect album
prob my fav RH album
Very good album
one of the best whole pieces of work i’ve ever had the pleasure to listen to. truly a pride land for the wild things in my mind to wander around
Stunning
When this project started, I knew In Rainbows, with other Radiohead albums, would score a 5/5 for me. What I was unsure of was how I'd order them. I've been high on this album of late, but maybe it's something about this project that made me realize it doesn't feel as "the whole being greater than the sum of its parts" as I was expecting. There is a plethora of great tracks but you could probably listen to this album on shuffle and have a similar experience. As such, it's still a 5/5, but will likely be supplanted by OK Computer and Kid A when I get to those.
i mean .. top 5?
There was a period in the 00s when we didn’t really speak, for whatever reason. We had different lives for a bit there. I don’t remember the circumstances under which we came back together, but I do remember that when we finally met up and you drove me somewhere, we talked about two relatively recent releases, neither anticipated, the two big Ins - Inland Empire and In Rainbows. Whatever had happened during our brief disconnection, some things hadn’t changed. We both paid over the odds for the Radiohead double vinyl. We both sat through three hours of digital Lynch and liked the bit at the end. I don’t know if this explains why I think In Rainbows is the warmest, most human Radiohead album. Probably not. I’d formed that opinion earlier, but that meeting consolidated it. The record became a conduit for resumed friendship. Its final song, in particular, seems to gather up ideas of regret, missed time and a quiet, undemonstrative happiness. There is also something instructive in the pay-what-you-want release model - less aggressive than Billy Corgan’s Machina 2 gesture, but more revealing. It asks you to decide what the thing is worth to you. I don’t hesitate in saying that In Rainbows is my favourite Radiohead album. It is more emotionally generous than OK Computer and as exploratory as Kid A, without being so isolating. Those two records are, in their different ways, slightly hysterical: OK Computer despairs at the world, Kid A flees desperately into its own new one. In Rainbows is the work of men in their forties, stretching themselves but aware of their limits. By finally recording Nude, they acknowledge that they are tidying up loose ends, perhaps even running out of ideas. That isn’t a criticism. It’s something to admire. It suggests maturity: five old friends doing well by one another. Where earlier records could feel smugly social, this one is quietly personal. I feel that more keenly now, as a man in his forties, for whom friendships matter a great deal. Perhaps that’s what allows me to articulate what I always understood about the album. I’m reminded of a line from a Kate Winslet interview I read moments ago, where she described coping with media intrusion during a marriage breakdown with "a good meal, a shared conversation, a nice cup of coffee, a bit of Radiohead and a good poo.” Middle-aged stuff. 5 I don’t feel the personal connection with In Rainbows that I do with all the Radiohead albums that came before. I remember being thrilled by the casual announcement that an album would appear shortly and by the pay-what-you-like model, although I was always going to buy the fancy boxset so it was all the same to me. I also remember being absolutely baffled by the attention that In Rainbows received and by the overwhelmingly positive reception for the album. Somewhere between Radio 1’s Edith Bowman enthusiastically playing tracks from the album (there was no lead single) in the middle of the afternoon and ‘15 Step’ turning up in the closing credits of the first Twilight movie a year later I got a sense that something very odd had happened to Radiohead. At the time I felt that ‘people’, in the pejorative sense of the word, had now, virtually arbitrarily, decided to start listening to Radiohead. This entirely flouted what I understood to be the well established designated cultural space for Radiohead’s music - yes very clever, well done, but ‘too depressing’ for general consumption. A couple of weeks before Edith wouldn’t have dreamed of playing No Surprises or Fake Plastic Trees - now ‘Nude’ was going out on the airwaves when the sun was still in the sky? Critics, even the fucking NME, were universally enraptured. Well, went my cynical take, that pay-what-you-like gimmick certainly helped the medicine go down. I went to see Radiohead at Malahide Castle in summer 2008. There were a lot of people younger than me there enjoying the show. I felt entirely put out. Looking back now I appreciate that the crucial element in my relative alienation from In Rainbows is in fact how good it is. I was only in my mid-twenties at the time but already felt that I was now settling into a nice comfy retirement from engagement with popular music culture. I bought fewer and fewer new records despite having more and more money. I wasn’t in a band anymore. Arctic Monkeys seemed like children to me; I wasn’t going to listen to their album for fear I would like it. Radiohead were my favourite band and I expected them now, having generously peaked during my teenage years, to join me on the sidelines; diminishing year by year while I grew into smugly informing young people who had never heard of them about the Greatest Band of the 1990s. What a betrayal to release an album like In Rainbows; a peak arguably as high as any before. To introduce a new generation of teenagers to 5/4. Thom how could you? That was our Time Signature. Well at least I still have that limited edition boxset. 150-200 quid on eBay today. Take that young people. 4.5/5
I know I'm a normy straight guy but it's real good. I just listened to it many many times on repeat and I really liked it. There are lot of music layers, very subtle. The thing is Tom York's voice, it's not the think that I like the most it's a solid 4.5 but since this week was total bs and I don't think their gonna be a lot of 5 stars in this very normy list generator,
peak
Music like this is just so good. It makes me feel like I'm floating.
very good album 9/10
Album recommendation of agony and despair.
Actually a 10/10
In recent years especially I’ve been really enjoying the numerous moods of Radiohead - not a band I used to get but I think I’ve found them more interesting with age. It’s a tough call but this one could be one of my favourites - perhaps their most cohesive album sound wise? I love the flow of it, it’s accessible but with lots of subtle things to unpick on each listen.
Obiiichaaam . Dobre cge mi go generatna pyrvo :b. • All i need" e mnogo qka. Moje bi lubimata. •weird fishes syyshto 9/10

such a good album
Maybe Radiohead's best. Fave Tracks: 15 Step, Body Snatchers, Nude, Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, Jigsaw Falling Into Place 4.6/5
It’s just too good man
Chill rock right there, so touching
This has always been my favorite Radiohead album. It's a perfect example of why I'm a music over lyrics person. I just let the vibes lay over me. Top song: Jigsaw Falling Into Place
Nude Jigsaw falling into place Weird fishes/arpeggi All I need
This is the third Radiohead album on my journey, and it gets a fair bit of notoriety. In Rainbows was one of the first albums from a major label act to be both a surprise release and available at a pay-what-you-want price for the fans. Both practices would see further use over the years, more so the former. Still, there is one more notable thing about this record - it is pretty damn good. In Rainbows is a very intimate record, full of intricate melodies with warm, sublime production courtesy of Nigel Godrich. Some of Radiohead's best hooks and sonic moments come from this record alone. The complex handclap rhythm of "15 Step", the fuzzed-out guitar riff from "Bodysnatchers", the spare bass and acoustic guitar finger-picking that form the somber waltz of "Nude", the intermingled guitar and orchestral strings on "Weird Fishes / Arpeggi" and "Faust Arp", the lowly synthesizer capturing the feel of white noise on the haunting "All I Need", the grooving rhythm section of "Reckoner", the mellow guitar hook on "House of Cards", the shimmering piano ballad of "Videotape", this album is loaded with all sorts of distinct and well-executed compositions. All along the way, Thom Yorke delivered a rather earnest, frail vocal delivery as he reflected on his own mortality and what it meant to be human. There isn't anger so much as fear and discontent with living a mundane life, knowing that death will come one day and that choices must be made to break from the monotony. This desperation to fulfill one's livelihood becomes especially prudent on the closing track "Videotape", where a VHS tape of memories is left behind as the narrator passes on, with the hope that a part of him will be remembered fondly. It's a very universal desire to want to be remembered well by those lives we have touched upon, and I think Thom and company did an excellent job of capturing that sentiment. It does not come as a surprise to say that I love In Rainbows. It's a very passionate record that colorfully explores the human condition.
Amazing. No notes. Favorite album so far, will be listening to this one again.
Cited as a classic for a reason. Quite beautiful.
I can now confidently say that this is my favourite Radiohead album. It just so good man
Absolutely amazing
The album feels like the album cover
Wasn't sure what to expect here. Love their early era but found the post 'OK Computer' material hard to engage with. This was a pleasant surprise though, combining the more experimental edge of the later stuff with the humanity of their early work. I really should spend more time with the rest of their catalogue.
favorite radiohead album bangers
Every time I listen to a Radiohead album, I decide it’s my favorite album of theirs. So many memories are tied to In Rainbows, though. It came out at a pivotal time in my life, musically, and frankly, it dominated music for a long time after, until King of Limbs dropped. While still dark, this is nothing as sinister as say, Amnesiac. The songs are smooth and chill, for the most part. Even years on, this feels like the pinnacle of production and cool. Case in point, I live across the street from Forest Hills Stadium, known for their Dylan concerts, etc. In the summer, when they’re doing their sound checks, they play In Rainbows at full blast all the way through from start to finish. The songs haunt my neighborhood and float above the streets. Whoever uses this for sound checks doesn’t change the album. Year after year, it’s always In Rainbows, and I’m never mad about it. I see it as one of the perks of living where I do. Like minds, I guess.
pero que chsm el thom
This is the Radiohead album that I return to regularly. There's something about it that pulls me into it and it casts its spell on me. From the first track, "15 Step," with its rhythmic, almost tribal feel to the last, "Videotape," with its hypnotic mantra feel, there's not a bad song on it. A personal favorite is "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi" and I don't even know why. It's just a song that pulls me in and works on me. They're all like that. Nigel Godrich's production is a big part of it. But, mostly, it's the collection of songs and the dream-like quality of them. Just a fantastic album.
It has the eerie, dark beauty of the Kid A/Hail to the Thief era and the thrashy punkiness that a lot of Ok Computer has, but In Rainbows is also a new thing entirely. Feel like every time I hear this one I home in on something new to me; this time its just how much Yorke's voice is a proper instrument, not just delivering some great hooks but fading in and out of so many tracks and enhancing the incredibly atmospheric instrumentals. Every song is great here. Today I especially was feeling Reckoner, All I Need, Bodysnatchers, guess I was embracing the November darkness. A colorful masterpiece that lives up to its name
Always a good one
Listened to before. Amazing album
I have about five different favorite bands at any given time but Radiohead has always been on the list. There’s no point in me adding to the zillions of things that have been said about their greatness but I’ll add a bit about this album. I think you could make the case that this is the best Radiohead album, though I never actually hear anyone make it. I suspect that if I had to rank every single song and assign point values, then add them together by album, In Rainbows might win. Sure, it’s not a giant statement about the future of humanity like OK Computer, but every track feels essential. And I think it opened the door to a future where Radiohead could channel our angst while also being kinda chill about it. They can be who they are but also do stuff like a Bond theme (kind of) and The Smile. That makes me happy for them and for all of us. PS since this is Thanksgiving, I should say I keep a gratitude journal and I’m sure I have written that I am grateful for Radiohead, for Thom Yorke, for In Rainbows, many times…
Already knew and loved a few of these songs. "All I Need" and "House of Cards" had been in rotation for a long time. Also loved "15 Step" "Bodysnatchers" "Jigsaw Falling Into Place" and "Videotape"
Amongst the best of the albums Radiohead has to offer
Top two maybe top one Radiohead album. it pisses excellence.
-Day 27- Best tracks: Reckoner, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, Nude, Videotape 10/10. Radiohead's fourth (of five) career 10/10 albums. It's not my favorite album ever, or of their discography, but it is pretty damn close.
One of the greatest albums of all time.
LOVE IT
I LOVE THIS ALBUM
One of my favourite bands, great Album! Fav: Weird fishes / Arpeggi
Already got
my favorite band
Words can't adequately convey the feelings I have when listening to Radiohead. Ethereal beauty.
Sublime, innovative music that rewards repeat listens. Bought it on release but need to listen more now. Great album.
Top tier Radiohead - Pushing past anything too mournful / worldweary into a more jammy, propulsive vibe that never gets stagnant and never loses the core of what makes the band great. A while back, I rated HTTT 5 stars and re-listening to this one, it is clear that In Rainbows eclipses that. For me, it never gets too anything - meaning too whiney, too electronica etc. If you like the Radiohead thing, this is another banger in a long line of bangers.
Is "House of Cards" secretly the warmest Radiohead song? Much to consider.
10/10
Favoritas: 15 Step, Weird Fishes, All I Need, Jigsaw Falling Into Place
All I Need, House Of Cards).
Cinco estrellas. Favs: todas, pero especialmente Nude y Weird Fishes / Arpeggi
Loved this album when it came out. Still love it today.
Doesn’t get enough credit maybe because of how they released it. Also overshadowed by the groundbreaking 3 albums that came before. It is a culmination of the growth and innovation for those sounds of rock, electronics and art
one of the goat's, boring opinion but imo true
Ya!!!
For me, this is the pinnacle of music. There are insufficient superlatives. The dictionary is missing the words that could adequately describe my feelings when I listen to this album. It is powerful, emotional and profound but also, its just straightup badass. The drums are so tight, the snare crisp and the cymbals acting as to create a sort of white noise that perfectly envelops the rest of the music. Some of the bass lines are unreal - not constant throughout the track but waiting, for the prime moment to come in, awesome riffs for maximum effect (see 15 Step). Guitar wise, the reverby arpeggios, the unique chord structures, the slow and moody moments followed by those heavier more distorted atonal sounds. Some of the tunes are beautiful to the point of disturbing me (see Nude). Then there are the vocals. People say that Thom Yorkes voice isn't the best, but it is. Even when it should sound bad, it sounds good. He can shout, scream, wail, moan or serenade and it hits the way it needs to. Each moment of each track is finely tuned, perfectly produced, mixed to perfection. There is nothing negative to be said about this, one of my favourite albums, other than perhaps it can sometimes feel a bit too real and cut a bit too deep. Favourite tracks - Nude, Weird Fishes or Reckoner. 10/10
At the time of writing, I think this has to be my vote for the best Radiohead album. It has so much variety, not only from song to song, but also within the songs themselves. All of the musicians in this band contribute a unique style, and keep just the right amount of that experimental attitude. The only drawback, if you can call it that, is that there are no radio friendly, or easily accessible songs on this. Not an issue for alot of people, but there's not an easy entry point. Also bonus is that this is the second album where I can hear an obvious Boards of Canada influence. Excellent.
15 steps in a household staircase.
Obviously goated. 5!
Radiohead bring so much to the table, this is no exception
I always think I'm over In Rainbows until I actually listen to it. So good.
Radiohead's best non-Kid A, their best guitar album, the best, the bestest, the best. Every riff drills into the depths of my god damn brain.
Solid album cover to cover amazing opening track, builds well and is an absolute pleasure to listen to. It's got a vast array of instruments and feels like it is arranged with an orchestral eye for detail.
Amazing of course
While I have an aversion to Radiohead akin to and equivalent to my distaste for all things related to and produced by Dorks this is nonetheless a perfect record that moves me.
I'd always thought Kid A marked the end of Radiohead's golden era, and it was all gradually downhill after that. But clearly that was bollocks, because this is great. Sorry, Radiohead, have five stars as an apology.
Amazing, as are all Radiohead albums.
Breath of fresh air in terms of creativity and execution after hearing a number of copy-cats on this list, but it’s also been a favorite album of mine for years at this point.
Bands wish they made this album
Ok. For the record, I am an OG Radiohead fan. It started when a friend loaned me his copy of The Bends, and I fell madly in love with them - then I went back and devoured Pablo Honey just in time for OK Computer to come out and blow everyone's minds. I remember listening to it on the radio and recording the whole thing onto tape just ahead of the album release. I remember tuning in to MTV2 playing all of Kid A uninterrupted as a teaser for that album, sitting in my best friend's room, mesmerized. So when I say that I love this band and know this band, I mean - they are inside my heart of hearts. And this is their album that I keep coming back to time and again. All of their previous work is incredible, and I still love it, but when I want to fire up a record that I love and is fun to listen to I always reach for In Rainbows. It is mature while still being exciting; it's evocative and poetic without being pretentious; it takes itself seriously and yet is clearly having a fantastic time. The only song I don't love is "Faust Arp." But "15 Step" - how can you not love the crazy off-time beat, coupled with lovely jazz guitar and a children's chorus? The exhilarating riff of "Bodysnatchers?" The existential journey that is "Weird Fishes?" The complete angst of "All I Need?" How can you not love this record? For me, this is a 10/10, my most-listened-to record by my most-listened-to band. FIVE STARS
Excellent variety that showcases their seemingly unlimited talent. My personal favorite of their catalog.
Just an amazing album. My first and my favorite Radiohead album. I figured it had to be on here. Creative and beautiful, while still having really cool guitar moments. Art rock at its finest.
Fantastisk
They are masters! You know it’s good when you haven’t heard it in years, but it’s all so familiar when you play it again.
one of the best radiohead albums. the album has a pretty big switch in sound, with, i believe, acoustic guitars (or electric guitars with acoustic tone) as the main instrument. the strumming complements yorke's voice perfectly. 15 steps sets the tone for the entire album. light, floating vocals and guitar. then bodysnatchers, from the messier side and nude with the serene, reflective tone; weird fishes, then all i need sort of follow the same pattern. the piano chords that suddenly start playing towards the end of all i need feels like waves -- something collapsing with such strong force that it hits you like a truck. faust arp starts with anxious quick, hanging, vocals, then starts accelerating and emphasizing. reckoner is nice. house of cards slightly boring but i suppose is a good change of pace. then jigsaws -- the epitome of the album and the bridge, the climax of it. the sudden change of pace and melody... just wow, wow. videotape then signifies the end. fantastic arrangement. all songs are all perfect. 11/10 album.
A Moon Shaped Pool a déjà 9 ans. On verra.
Ethereal, beautiful music. Made me think Nick Drake got a rock band together. 4.6 outta 5
Okay while The Bends was solid, not a lot of it hooked me immediately. Not like this one! Starts of hard with 15 Step into Bodysnatchers, and while it slows down it continues to have very good shit. The ending with Videotape is really good too.
Really really good - one of Radiohead's best, in fact. Lush textures and sounds fill this album from front to back, which when combined with the ever-excellent songwriting, makes for an immersive listening experience unlike any other.
This is an album I can confidently reach for whenever I find myself with a good listening setup. There's just a ton of musical detail going on at all times and the atmosphere is a treat to get completely lost in. I will say that even the best pair of cans won't help to understand what the hell Thom Yorke is saying, but to a certain degree that works in favour of the album's aesthetic. Standouts: 15 Step • Bodysnatchers • Nude • Weird Fishes / Arpeggi • Reckoner • Jigsaw Falling Into Place
Fuck yes. This is my favorite radiohead album and maybe one of my top 5 albums of all time. It’s so unbelievably raw and packed with emotion. Just in awe every time I listen to it
This is the album that got me into Radiohead.
an all timer.
What if an all time great band released a greatest hits album but every track on it was brand new? How does this work or make sense? I have no idea but Radiohead pulled it off. Every track on here could be a hit single from one of their previous albums. Maybe they would take that as criticism but I think it's impressive. Masters of songcraft and the studio pretty much just showing off at this point.
Glad to see this one making the list. Very inventive and some beauty too!
I bought this when it came out, I LOVE them and I LOVE this album - disc 1 for me is a masterpiece straight up 5+ disc 2 too sad for me but disc 1!! lovelovelovelove 15 step, weird fishes, Jigsaw... all of it not a note out of place god bless radiohead :)
“Reckoner” is absolutely essential. And several other songs—“Weird Fishes/Arpeggi” and “House of Cards” among them—probably are, too (or at least aren’t far behind). Swoon. Surely one of the best albums of the dang 21st century!
Sensational
Better than I thought it was going to be having putting off listening to it for years. Definitely will go back to it to again
Perfection. I have slapped my nuts to this so many years now
This album is about as close to perfect as you can get. Well sequenced, every song stands on its own. 5/5
i heard this before and thats one of my favourite. like, this album means so much to me and i really like the sound, i think this is probably my fav album from whole radiohead discography sooo 10/10 exactly
Easy 5 stars but still maybe my 4th favorite of theirs. It's just splitting hairs trying to rank their albums. It comes down to liking the feel/texture of their other albums more, but nothing wrong with this. I do prefer their up-tempo songs more so maybe that contributes to why this one ranks lower for me as there are a decent bit of slower songs. Joyous album cover Rating: 4.7
This is about as close to perfection as an album can get. The varied and phenomenal instrumental work, especially the guitar and pianos combine with gorgeous vocals to take you on an amazing emotional journey. Few albums cover the emotional breath of In Rainbows. I’ve listened to this album many times and as “Videotape” is ending I still find myself thinking, “Bummer, it is over.” One of my hobbies is testing and tweaking audio gear and I use the album frequently for this purpose. The production is amazing and the dynamic range will put any audio system through its paces. You hear what is working, but just as important the flaws. I know people from 5 generations who have independently discovered Radiohead, in fact it was one of the first records my Gen Alpha daughter requested as a gift for her small but growing vinyl collection. Such broad appeal is remarkable because their music does not fall within what would normally be considered a universally loved gene or sound. I have few doubts that In Rainbows will continue to inspire new and varied music for generations to come.
Fantastic cover. Fantastic album One of the best overall album vibes of all time. Weird fishes and jigsaw falling into place are honestly in my top 20 songs ever. Specific rating - 4.7 Fav song- weird fishes Least fav- videotape
Genuinely saw a double rainbow on my walk whilst listening to this album, definitely added to the experience. One of my favourite radiohead records, i love the mixture of quite gentle moments with the grand instrumental parts and the time signature changes favs: 15 step, nude, weird fishes/arpeggi, all i need, jigsaw falling into place least: house of cards (but i still like this one!) 4.5/5 plus the extra half for the rainbow
One of my favourite albums ever and an easy 5. Following the experimental Kid A and Amnesiac, and the return to a more rocking sound with Hail To The Thief, perhaps the most notable change for In Rainbows was the decision to allow legal downloads of the album for whatever price fans deemed fair. Pretty unheard of at the time but doesn't distract from the fact that the music is so good In Rainbows is full of spine tinglingly epic vocal moments. Among them: "you'll go to hell for what your dirty mind is thinking" in Nude, "because we separate like ripples on a lake" in Reckoner, and the kicking in of the more chaotic singing in the second half of Jigsaw Falling Into Place. Thom is at his absolute best here - and also a nod for the drumming which is amazing, Bodysnatchers being a good example I'm going to watch In Rainbows From The Basement now
Full disclosure: I'm a huge Radiohead fan and have owned this album since it came out. I think that you can make an argument that this is actually the best Radiohead album. They're at the top of their game, and the whole record is tight, concise and in my opinion, perfect!
this was like a treat. listening to an album you already really like and are well acquainted with is top tier in this project. easy listening & know i’m gonna enjoy it. obvious 5/5
This is the common denominator of Radiohead albums. It's not their best, but it is the favorite. A must-listen for any rock/alternative/indie music fan. And aside from the music, this is the album that innovated the "distribute on the internet and pay what you want" model. It was a cultural milestone in many ways.
Wiki: "Yorke said that the lyrics were based on "that anonymous fear thing, sitting in traffic, thinking, 'I'm sure I'm supposed to be doing something else'" Man. The feeling of monotony, like life is passing you by - but you're not exactly sure what to do to catch up. How do you begin to put that into an album without it sounding like a white picket fence? The distorted guitar building up cutting through a very basic beat on 15 Step was sign enough that Radiohead could capture the feeling. Droning on without really droning. This feeling is heightened with the lyrics in Bodysnatchers "Pale imitation/with the edges sawn off" and "Has the light gone out for you?/Because the lights' gone out for me." Just brutal.
Poignant with some great tunes
Good
But how funny would it have been if I gave it a 1
Excellent. Excited to hear more
Very cool. First time hearing it. Can understand why Radiohead is so popular.
Extraordinary
This is one of the few albums where I have ~every~ song liked. Def in my top 5 fave albums, and will probably continue to stay there for a long time
Epic
One of my fav albums of all time
“Reckoner” takes me back to the only time I saw Radiohead play live; their opening song on the “In Rainbows” tour. That night I also remember Eddie saying something about Radiohead being at the height of their powers with the release of “In Rainbows” and that reflection bubbles up in my head every time I hear this album. For most of the songs on this album I have a distinct memory of a time and place. Truly love this album.
Like sonic ambrosia for restless suburban kids. Punch me square in the mouth and put on any Radiohead starting with “The Bends” through to “In Rainbows.”
Sometimes I regret hearing In Rainbows first because nothing else by Radiohead comes close for me. ✅✅✅ 15 Step ✅✅✅✅✅ Nude ✅✅✅✅✅ Reckoner
this, to me, is the best album ever recorded. even how they released it changed the music industry as we knew it. this is like 2001: a space odyssey, like ulysses, like the wire - dense, brilliant, altering the form forever. energizing to realize at the time it was released, a miracle to revisit over and over through the years.
My favorite Radiohead album. Easy to get, but deep if you dive in.
One of the best albums of the 21st Century. The best Radiohead album of the 21st Century. One of the most exhilaratingly-paced albums I’ve ever heard. Insane vocal performance. The tightest and most inventive percussion on an alt-rock album. A jam with all cylinders firing. Seminal record. Free Palestine.
A perfect album. The perfect length, all killer no filler. I love how Body Snatchers is one of the most energetic songs they have ever written. Nude is also the prettiest song EVER written, we played this song when we cut the cake at our wedding. We also had our first dance to All I Need, so this album means a lot to us. Weird Fishes is also a really pretty song, and I love Ed's harmony in the later choruses. All I Need has such a crazy bass synth sound, and I love how that song comes to a climax. Also shout-out to Jigsaw Falling into place, Videotape and House of Cards. High 5!!!!
One of my faves.
One of my favorite radiohead albums
I've probably listened to this album 100 times already, I wasn't surprised to find it here, but it wasn't very helpful because I am already in love with it. It's kind of not fair.
This is my favourite Radiohead album.
What else is there to say? Radiohead have mastered their craft, and even escaped the "depressive lyrics" rut that so many alt-rock-haters criticise them for. What's left is a warm, lively, relatable slew of artwork that doesn't let up a single time. Every song is near-perfect and I have a very hard time picking any single element I would improve. *Maybe* the outros of Videotape and House Of Cards are a little long. *Maybe* Faust Arp could do with more track length to develop its musical ideas. But I'm grasping at straws. Thom Yorke's voice is arguably the finest, rawest, and most emotive it's been (barring individual earlier tracks like Black Star and Exit Music). Jonny Greenwood finds this spectacularly mellow guitar tone, heard as early as the opener 15 Step, and runs with it. In fact, that guitar sound not only defines the whole album, but essentially creates its own unique genre that I haven't seen replicated, not even by Radiohead themselves. The basswork ranges from silky to jamming, and just like their previous records, is played in exactly the right places. Seriously. Pay attention to the bass in each song and you get an entirely new album experience. And the musical motifs are developed so darn tastefully. It's just brilliant. Utterly brilliant. 15 Step is sort of the band's first (most famous?) foray into drum loops. They do it to a much greater extent on The King Of Limbs, but they did it best here, no question. The way the texture is gradually built upon, adding in Thom's vocals, then acoustic drums to mirror the electric loop, then guitar and slow bass, then faster bass licks over the top. And of course the soundscapey synths worm their way into the mix partway through. It's fast-paced, energetic, warm... and talks about suicide. Cool! Bodysnatchers is the most "classic-rock" the album gets, featuring a slightly off-kilter rock-inspired vocal from Thom and a garage band/surf rock type guitar groove. It's divided into two distinct sections, the first with a sort of crazed, paranoid mood and the second expressing wonder and quieter confusion. And check out those lyrics. (Dang.) The riff is phenomenal here, performed with an energy that wouldn't really be matched until near the album's conclusion. Nude is one of the two best songs on here. It starts off understated, with an absolutely killer octave-based bassline, reversed vocals, and free, angelic strings. Then the textures drop off. Everything is slow, thoughtful, deliberate. "You paint yourself white / And fill up with noise / But there'll be something missing". The soft, almost lazy strumming of guitar. Then the texture builds, slowly but assuredly. Thom hits a crescendo, showcasing his best vocals on the record. The chord progression is phenomenal. Then an "ooh" vocal finishes out the song, accompanied by those gorgeous strings from the intro. It's beautiful, it's complete. It's perfect. Weird Fishes / Arpeggi is one of the most popular ones on here, and for good reason. It has some pretty badass rhythmic interplay between guitar and drums throughout essentially the entire track. Again, we see a rising energy, almost frenzied towards the middle of the track as more and more musical elements are added – before nearly everything is stripped away and you are allowed to have your allocated out-of-body experience. (You'll get another one later with Reckoner, don't worry.) The end section is much darker and more foreboding, featuring a more dynamic bassline that works its way through some killer riffs. And a rare Thom Yorke low vocal. All I Need is yet another song with a gradual build-up, and this one has a ridiculous payoff with its colourful full-scale-chord playing on piano. It sounds kind of magical (don't you think?), particularly when combined with the glockenspiel, generously layered synths, and Thom's emotionally conflicted vocal, "It's all wrong, it's all right". I'm glad it's getting some more Internet recognition these days. Faust Arp is the album's flawless interlude. It consists only of acoustic guitar, Thom's singing, and a small string section. Kind of reminds you of a rabbit frolicking through a summery forest. The lyrics make no sense. The time signatures and chords change extremely rapidly here, though it's not obvious on a first listen. Reckoner has an almost shockingly "big"-sounding percussion part after the mellow ending to Faust Arp. The feathery guitar tone contrasts sharply and yet perfectly with it. And Thom delivers this entirely in his falsetto range. The middle section has a drop in texture (just like in Weird Fishes) and is kind of the album's centerpiece. "Because we separate / Like ripples on a blank shore". What the heck? This is incredible. Before you know it, it's all over, and you wish it could last for hours longer. If I had to pick the weakest track, it would be House Of Cards. But please don't make me. This song has perhaps the cleanest sound, the sharpest production, of all the tracks here. Everything is understated here. Thom's vocal is (perhaps questionably) put through an echo effect to deliver one of Radiohead's most romantic – or maybe anti-romantic – tracks ever. Throw your keys in the bowl / Kiss your husband goodnight / Forget about your house of cards / And I'll do mine". As in, "I love you so much that I would really prefer it if you just cheated on your significant other already." (Hmm.) But it sounds incredibly good, so I can't complain. Jigsaw Falling Into Place is the other contender for best track. Although the melody isn't particularly adventurous, it's mainly holding out until the second half, where it jumps an octave and goes completely ham. (Unless you're vegetarian like Thom.) The chords are slightly unorthodox but that just makes it all the more fun to play on either guitar or piano. The build-up is, once again, one of the highlights. There are submelodies racing everywhere throughout this thing, weaving their way around the main vocal at various points. And the lyrics... "She looks back, and you look back / /Not just once, and not just twice / Wish away the nightmare / You got the light, you can feel it on your back / Your jigsaw falling into place". Damn. Videotape has a happier, or perhaps more hopeful, message than it appears on first glance. The narrator isn't just declaring his own death, he's also celebrating what made him happy in life. Coupled with the "instrumentalised" version of a video recorder running out of tape, this is one of Radiohead's most creative endeavours to date. It's no wonder it took them so long to record. An easy 5 stars. 5/5 Key tracks: all
Top tier Radiohead for me. As far as full albums go.
The easiest 5 stars I'll probably give out during this project. This is one of my favourite albums of all time. My favourite by Radiohead for sure. I love every second of it. Those drum sounds, the super melodic bass playing, the Robert Kirby-esque strings on Faust Arp, Thom's beautiful, clear falsetto all the way through everything! Truly a perfect album for me. My only gripe is that the LP is too big for the picture inner sleeve, so it was hard to remove but I replaced it with an antistatic MOFI-like one, anyway.
Damn.
On some days, this could be my favorite Radiohead album.
5* any day :)
Love it!
Genial
Unreal how good this album is. I struggled picking one song to represent it for my playlist, because any one of these could be the best song on the album. It shouldn't be possible for Radiohead to have so many good albums
Unique sounds. I would have expected to dislike the music as a popular English rock band but there is soul. A unique voice that isn’t trying to be something but is authentic about who they are.
It's the best Radiohead album. That's all.
This is without hyperbole the greatest album ever. The vocals to lyricism to composition to execution is a master class. The album cover has been my phone background for the past decade and a half and it might be for the next as well
One of my favorite albums and disk two also has great songs
Rating: 4.9 So close to a perfect album- but I will abstain because I don’t like Faust Arp or Weird Fishes that much. However, when an album is this trim and has this lineup: 15 Step 10/10 Bodysnatchers 9/10 Nude 10/10 Weird Fishes/Arpeggi 7/10 All I Need 8/10 Faust Arp 6/10 Reckoner 10/10 House of Cards 9/10 Jigsaw Falling into Place 10/10 Videotape 9/10 that means Faust Arp gets a pass. What a monumental album, definitively one of my top 5 favorite ever and I’m so glad despite his spotty post-2000 coverage the editor couldn’t ignore this masterpiece.
one of the best albums of all time right up there with OK Computer
Videotape is a magnificent song. I remember when I first heard it finding it really hard to get into and appreciate. But the lyrics, the meaning, the really specific syncopation with the half-beat is deeply fascinating. There are some YT videos breaking it down, it's a hugely underestimated song.
Unfortunately the worst people you know can make some incredible music
No relistening required. Legend.
I am trying to cherish this moment because I don't think I will get another run of such good albums for the rest of my journey on this list. This album is yet again absolutely perfect. I think it is by far and away the best Radiohead effort do to its relaxed and upbeat nature. I love pretty much every single thing about this record from production to guitar tones to songwritting to the album cover. It is absolutely dynamite and Radiohead shows yet again just how important they are in the history of music and just their shear genius when it comes to making songs and records. This thing is phenomenal and absolutely one of my favorite albums of all time - certainlly released passed the year 2000. 10/10
Great Album. Would listen again
My second favorite Radiohead album. Its nearly perfect. No skips, plenty of bangers including "15 Steps", "Weird Fishes", "Jigsaw Falling Into Place", "House Of Cards" and many more. Thom and the boys really cooked with this one. Favorite track: Jigsaw Falling Into Place 4.5/5
Still a banger I am afraid despite Radiohead being more and more shitty politically. One of the first albums I rated here that I bought myself when it came out. Truly great album one of my favorites of the 2000s. Do not have much to say about it really because it is so primal to me that I do not have good words to talk about it.
Don't listen to this album if you have any tinge of sadness. I can assure you, it well send you into a deeply melancholic state. That fact is one of the reasons I love this album -- feeling is so beautifully created by Radiohead and felt by the listener. The most profound embodiments of nostalgia, sadness, and acceptance are interlaced throughout the album. Musically, this is pristine to my ears. Production is extremely well done and the fun components throughout each song were making my heart sing. I loved the addition of a Xylophone (?), keys, electronic doodads, and big builds <3
*Thom Yorke voice* Weeerd fffiiissheh 1001 Albums Generator 113 (09/08/2025) Hey look, it's the best Radiohead album. What a treat! In Rainbows is the album where it all comes together for Radiohead in my opinion. Their other two albums that are in the conversation for their best are OK Computer, which saw the band perfect the alternative rock lane that they had built in their first two albums, and Kid A, which stripped their sound down to almost not even rock, leaning into an electronic side heavily. I really like both of those albums, but it's In Rainbows where the two sides of this band are both at their peak. Listen to the first song, 15 step, which almost sounds like it could be off Kid A with its glitchy, IDM drums, but falls into a beautiful guitar and bass-led song that is reminiscent of OK Computer. Or listen to the underrated All I Need, which is built on a base that could be mistaken for trip hop, but leaves no doubt in the listener's mind by the end of its build that it is a rock song. Listen to the closing Videotape that has this haunting piano line that is accompanied by a simple bass line and really strange, glitchy drums throughout. I just love this album so much. Bodysnatchers has this iconic distorted bassline that opens up the song and this is one of Yorke's best vocal performances. Weird Fishes / Arpeggi has (it's in the name) great guitar arpeggios throughout and is probably my favorite song on the whole album. Me and my wife always laugh at how Thom says "weerd feshus" when everything but the guitar cuts out near the end. It's great. Even the interlude Faust Arp is great. It says a lot about the quality of In Rainbows that my least favorite song (Nude) is a lot of people's favorite song, and is often in those "best song of all time"-type of conversations. It is good, but one of the songs has to be my least favorite. In Rainbows is the peak of Radiohead and one of my favorite indie-adjacent albums ever. Easy 5/5. Favs: Bodysnatchers Weird Fishes / Arpeggi Videotape Least Fav: Nude
So many different ways I can convey my adoration for this album. But let's leave it at this--album so good I have it hanging on my wall.
A 15 Step 4 Bodysnatchers 5 Nude 5 Weird Fishes/Arpeggi 5 All I Need 4 Faust Arp 5 Reckoner 5 House Of Cards 3 Jigsaw Falling Into Place 5 Videotape 5 I refused to listen to this for years due to the type of person I associated it with: insufferable "quirky" twenty-year-old white women. However, I always said I would give it a listen when the time came (when I got it in the generator). And wow, I shouldn't have waited so long, but I am glad I did. One of the greatest albums ever. It's their most mature album yet, a perfect culmination of new and old Radiohead.
One of Radiohead's best. I love Jigsaws
Solid album through and through. The guitars, the beats, the lyrics. All of it just blends together so well.
Not as good as Kid A, but thats being picky. Great album. Haters are going to hate.
Diez. El mejor perro disco de la historia.
Another stellar and creative album from Radiohead
Personal favorite
I listened to this a lil over a yr ago and this album still goes hard. I was super skeptical listening to this because of the weird experimentation going on and it's popularity surrounding this. It took a while for this album grow on me but I'm finally convinced. The seamless transitions between the tracks, the way that it feels like there's a lot going on but it's still compact and cohesive, and the wonderful vocals that complement the production. There is no reason why one couldn't see this as a great work of art in the world of music. 'Twas a pleasure. Top 5: Bodysnatchers, Nude, Weird Fishes / Arpeggi, All I Need, and Jigsaw Falling Into Place no bad songs 4.50-4.75/5
Gorgeous
Kein schlechter Song, dafür einige fast perfekte Songs. Allein für Jigsaw Falling Into Place verdient es schon fünf Sterne. Was gibt es sonst zu sagen? Genial.
Okay fine.... I think I finally get Radiohead.... This album was awesome. It held my attention the entire time, and existed in its own, unique musical world. So many of the lyrics were just crushing, and when they paired with the soft, yet striking sonic landscape, something seriously magical was born. It's funny because I listened to this album a few months ago and wasn't impressed, but I guess the stars finally aligned during my most recent listens. I was so impressed by every second of this, and now understand why people say this is one of the greatest albums ever made.
this is best album ever
Best album to exist
Transcendental! The best album in the band's discography and has been the one I come back to the most. Yorke's vocals and songwriting have never been so mesmerizing and transcending. The production in the throughout the album resembles that of the cover: ethereal, spacious, and yet very grand. This is a 10/10 album. Favorite tracks: 15 Step, Bodysnatchers, Nude, Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi, Reckoner, House of Cards, Jigsaw Falling into Place
How did Radiohead manage to make so many 10/10 albums?
I loves it
amazing album
In Rainbows by Radiohead [1001 albums]: 10/10, Honestly, this is the peak of music. I've listened to this album countless times and I've considered it my absolute favourite for years now, so getting it 4th on the 1001 albums generator was pretty funny. The creation of an album is a complicated, lengthy, and multi-faceted process. What happened with In Rainbows would only be possible with Radiohead. The limitation artists are subject to end up creating the outlines for their creativity, with OK Computer and Kid A having distinct identities created from core concepts that limit their range. With several classic albums in their discography already, creating something to top these albums should have been impossible. But, with Nigel Godrich pushing the band to create faster and not get bogged down in details at the beginning, they were able to create something seemingly smaller in scope that represents the core identity of what Radiohead is. With no creative limitations other than pressure to create something incredible, Radiohead could've easily folded and created something mediocre, but as they created each song and got more personal with their music than ever before, an immense depth to the album emerged. Each moment of this album, despite only being 42 minutes long, has one-of-a-kind depth and meaning. With every chord change and new phrase, they build upon the basis of each song in a way that transforms the context into something greater than the sum of its parts. Reckoner is currently the song I'd call my favourite on this album, but it frequently shifts between Nude and Jigsaw Falling Into Place, but the way Reckoner adds so few elements together to create such a distinct crescendo to the climax with the album title-drop is unlike anything else I've heard. The emergent complexity from the members of the greatest band to ever do it each creating simple but technical phrases and layering them together is what makes this album Radiohead's thesis statement and magnum opus.
15 Step - 9/10 Bodysnatchers -10/10 Nude - 9.5/10 Weird Fishes / Arpeggi - 9/10 All I Need - 10/10 Faust Arp - 8/10 Reckoner - 9/10 House Of Cards - 10/10 Jigsaw Falling Into Place - 9.5/10 Videotape - 9/10 93/100
The 2nd best Radiohead album and one of the greatest art-rock things ever, evs.
Nude->all I need might be the greatest 3 track run of all time
top to bottom great
Masterpiece
5/5
One of the best albums I've ever heard.
This came out my senior year in high school and I think since then I might have listened to it 500 times. One of my all time favorite records. 5/5
Not my favourite Radiohead album, but still a 5* album
Fucking great.
Super Dope
Gosh what a great album this is. The first half is an absolute masterclass from Jonny Greenwood in contemporary guitar playing. Second half keyboards, synths, piano, strings are more prominent in the arrangements. If any Radiohead album could be described as 'at peace' then this one is it.
I've wanted to buy this record for years, but I've never listened to it start-to-finish. Sometimes the trailer is enough, and you know you're gonna be into it. You know? So in the grand scale of things, no surprises. I think I'd already heard the stand-out tracks, and not to call everything else filler, but they work like a brush stroke queuing your eye to the next key representation. This is the euphoria of quality musicianship and the freedom of only having to overcome creative hurdles, then sticking that landing. It was an extremely easy listen for me, but I like the abstract idea of emotion as sound. 4.7/5
this album has already changed my life. might have not listened to it a lot recently but ill always keep it in a special place in my heart. funnily enough for some reason i sent a message to lisa today, my friend who i showed radiohead to (and she loved it). and radiohead just released live recordings of hail to the thief from the 2000s today, what a coincidence haha. weird fishes/ arpeggi, nude, jigsaw falling into place.. so many life changing tracks that everyone should listen to at some point in their life. even though you might not like it it's worth a shot.
Amazing work. Not perfect (would rate 4.5), but it tends to being so. Only major complaint was it felt as if some parts were a little too loud at times.
I would've paid $1 trillion for this.
This is a very good album
