Oh my… One of the best albums of my late teenage years. I found myself crying to it often, especially to the hauntingly beautiful “I Know It’s Over.” Morrissey’s poignant lyrics, Johnny Marr’s catchy melodies, and Andy Rourke’s intriguing bass lines make this album a masterpiece of the alternative genre. Every song hits the mark perfectly.
P.S. The cover features the iconic Alain Delon. What could be better?

A melancholically romantic and beautiful album. The soulfulness and originality of the instrumentals perfectly convey the lyrics. The standout tracks for me are those in the middle: "So Real," "Hallelujah," and "Lover, You Should Have Come Over." Buckley's untimely loss is a profound one for the music world. He was an exceptionally talented musician

Honestly, this is my first negative review. But this album was difficult for me to listen to - it irritated me so much. The overall sound felt messy, and the lead singer's voice drove me mad sometimes. The repeated screams seemed misplaced. Only one song, Maps, caught my attention, and that is mainly because of recent viral videos. That is why I am giving this album a 2 instead of a 1, lol

I have given Genesis a fair shot, listening to several of their albums, but they just don’t resonate with me the way Rush does, for example:(
Black Sabbath
5/5
One of the most influential metal album of all time - an absolute game-changer. It is astonishing what these musicians created in the late '60s and early '70s, redefining the genre in a truly revolutionary way. Personally, Paranoid was one of the first track that introduced me to metal - the opening riff is just something unforgettable

Metallica
5/5
Nothing Else Matters was the first Metallica song I ever heard. I remember that in high school, they sometimes played it during the graduation ceremony. 😅 Anyway, so many hits. My personal favorite is Enter Sandman because I heard it live in Munich in 2024 while standing in the Golden Circle. It was an unforgettable experience to sing this song in front of James! (I was only about three meters away from him.) A totally incredible way to close the show!
Peter Gabriel
5/5
This album was my first introduction to Peter's solo work. It is a very well-written and well-produced album. The instrumentals, lyrics, and overall atmosphere it creates make me want to listen to it on a cloudy, rainy day. It showcases great musicianship and is a perfect example of a truly talented, dedicated, and inspirational individual - leaving Genesis in its peak, yet becoming a successful solo artist

I love DM. I'm a bit surprised that the album starts with Never Let Me Down Again (one of my fav songs from them). I feel it would be better placed toward the end to give this magnificent track the emphasis it deserves. Of course, Strangelove, Behind the Wheel, and Nothing - other songs I regularly have in my playlist - are absolute highlights. And the album wraps up nicely with some pleasant instrumentals from Agent Orange

Oh, this one is special to me. Firstly, all parts of Another Brick in the Wall are just great - Pt. 2 was my first introduction to Pink Floyd (I imagine that’s the case for many fans as well). Secondly, Mother, Goodbye Blue Sky, Young Lust, and Run Like Hell are also among my top picks. And finally, Hey You and Comfortably Numb hold a particularly special place in my heart. The latter has simply magnificent and inimitable solos, filled with so much emotion. Gilmour, as always, is a true wizard

I absolutely love Pet Shop Boys! It’s so exciting to get this album in October - perfect timing. Being Boring is such a beautiful and moving song about youth and the passage of time. October Symphony feels like a reflection on the uncertain future, while So Hard is a love song with a great beat. Overall, Neil’s mellow vocals paired with Chris’s brilliant synth work create an atmosphere that’s ideal for autumn

Fun fact: Relax is one of my grandpa’s favorite songs. He even has it as his phone ringtone 😅 He doesn’t really know what the song is about, which makes it kind of hilarious. That aside, I really enjoyed listening to the album. It covers some great themes, with intriguing synth work and Frankie’s unmistakable style

I still remember that rainy autumn night on the train. Nearly 5 hours of motion through darkness, and somewhere along the way, I stumbled upon that album. I was 18, steeped in a heavy, melancholic mood, the kind that makes you ask, “Why not dive deeper?” So I pressed play.
And oh, what an experience it was.
It consumed me - devastation, raw sadness, and a kind of beautiful darkness that felt almost sacred. That album did not just accompany the journey; it was the journey. An absolute must-listen when the leaves fall and the nights stretch long

Jamiroquai

Funny coincidence 😄 I attended the Jamiroquai concert just a week ago in Vienna, and now I’ve got their debut album! What a fantastic debut of the band, great acid jazz and super funky grooves. I’m always moving to Jamiroquai, and it genuinely makes me happy! I love the band's music: the bass lines are so crisp, Jay Kay’s voice is exceptional (as are his moves), and the overall instrumentation is beautifully arranged. Such a boost to my mood!
