Reviews (page 2 of 15)

I have a hard time looking past the influences that Radiohead draws from on their latter day records. Sure, I see the Can and Neu! influence, some Brian Eno, a little Sonic Youth and maybe some Velvet Underground sprinkled in, but I don’t really see Radiohead taking that influence and making it into something more interesting than what their influences have already done. As an example, I really liked “Bodysnatchers”, but that’s because it kind of felt like Can by way of Sonic Youth, at least musically, and if forced to choose, I’d pick anything by those bands over that song. This is a very pretty and well produced record, without a doubt. It’s just that despite their influences, Radiohead is, to me, kind of a boring band.

Enjoyed this, but can't explicitly say why. None of the songs particularly stuck out, but as a whole a pleasant listen.

not in my top 3 radiohead albums. Took me a while to come around to the very punchy avant-garde sounds throughout many of the tracks. All I need is in my top 7 radiohead songs though so gets a bump for that.

I remember what a big deal this one was. I think they sold it online and anyone could pay whatever amount they wanted to pay for it. Everyone lost their shit over it too, but I never really thought it was that great. I still don't. OK Computer is the quintessential Radiohead album as far as I'm concerned. This is fine, and Reckoner and Jigsaw Falling into Place are great. And I know they have a huge following and they're geniuses at melding instruments with tech music, but it's still a "meh" for me.

all sounds the same

Oh no, I remember hating this album. I bought this album in an attempt to get into Radiohead and it definitely didn't work. This is less a bad album and more a boring album. I really can't handle the break beat they use through every song. It really just feels like one long boring song.

better than muse.

Got bored, didn't finish. There are sections of wonderful musicality that I really enjoyed, but the album as a whole lacks contrast from track to track. It's very same-y. Also, Thom Yorke's vocals have pretty much always bored me. In my book, Radiohead is one of those bands that is an amazing group of musicians all but ruined by their vocalist. Please, give me more of the band and less of... that guy. Too bad in this case Yorke is central to their process.

Boring, couldn't understand lyrics Excellent production

Weird. And I am not sure it’s in a fun way lol

I think I miss the hype a little bit

Onks radiohead emojen coldplay? Ei sinänsä mitään vikaa mut kyllästyin jo neljännen biisin kohdalla ja kynsin hampain kuuntelin loppuun. Ehkä tää on albumi johonkin toiseen elämänvaiheeseen.

Not as good as the bends and honestly nothing stuck with me

Wasn't the best.

Wow, this album is boring! 2 stars or D- because I always need sleep.

Meandering and self-indulgent. I hated this slightly less than other Radiohead albums post OK Computer, but I would still never willingly listen to this for fun.

I don't understand the Radiohead love to be honest.

I still think Radiohead is perhaps the most overrated band of all time. Not terrible but like how is this anything special? I don't see it

I think I've heard enough Radiohead to determine this isn't a band I enjoy. There may have been a song or 2 I thought was decent, but the more I keep hearing these guys, the more I'm even despising the song Creep. Thought this album slow, boring with zero drive to be entertaining to whatever audience they are seeking. That basically sums up every album I've listened to from this list and it seems we've had too many. No more Radiohead, please. It wasn't offensive to the ears, so I'll go with a 2. But damn, even a 2 was a stretch. 2

quieter and whinier than I thought radiohead would be. less rock. more emo

Good background music if I'm ok being bummed out.

Man, I wish I could suck myself off the way Radiohead do after making the MOST boring music that gets constant universal critical acclaim.

Ok. Not funny. I liked the Bends but two albums later? Cmon. This is radiohead at peak fart sniffing pretentiousness.

Still don’t like Radiohead. Two stars because they are able to play their instruments. But that’s it

Too winge and not all the songs are great.

You know what, if I can give Marvin Gaye 2 stars I can give Radiohead 2

I just can't get into Radiohead. It all sounds the same, so I can see if you like one of their songs you would like all. I'm just not one of those people.

Is Radiohead emo? Do they need a hug?

I felt asleep. I rather be sick than listening to this album.

Oh dear. It’s kind of dull and miserable

I was making it through alright the passionless beats and expensive emanations with no destination, not even that bothered by the absence of the single good song their albums tend to have, when on the final stretch out of nowhere Yorke said “I don’t want to be your friend I want to be your lover”. I almost filled my pants! Fuck out of my boudoir, creep!

Not really my thing.

No thanks. Coffee indie vibe. Background noise at best.

Wow. This album was beautiful. There was so much on this album that I loved. Listening to it in earbuds during the late evening, it truly made for a beautiful soundtrack and everything sounded so much crisper and distinct than I was prepared for. The first half felt like Radiohead at perhaps their most accessible during this phase of their career, which is a compliment. The closest to normal song structure we've heard from them in a while yet staying unique and experimental, there were shades of classic rock and even Thom Yorke nearly crooning. The second half played around more with time signatures and got a little weirder, but in a truly wonderful way, all culminating to a truly beautiful ending with "Videotape". I'm sure giving this a 5 isn't a controversial rating with this userbase, but goddamn it earned it. Fantastic listen.

Incredible from beginning to end. Radiohead never disappoints

Favorite track(s): 15 Step, Bodysnatchers, Nude, Weird Fishes / Arpeggi, House of Cards, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, Videotape It is with a heavy heart and a guilty conscience that I give a Radiohead album 5 stars. May God have mercy on my soul. (And Free Palestine or whatever). Heard before Previous rating: 9/10

Not my favourite Radiohead- album. But still a great album with not a single fail but also not a single song to really stand out. Very homogenous. (Although I am a fan I question the amount of Radiohead- albums on this list.) 4,5

Just for Weird Fishes and 15 Steps alone this deserves a 5.

Was ready to couch my praise of this and slot it in second or third place in respect to the OK Computer/Kid A ruling class, but fuck it. This is my favorite Radiohead album.

In my top 10 albums of all time. Beautiful record

Great album!

Absolute perfection one of the best album ever produced 10/10

SO fucking good. floors me every time. a ZERO skip album. videotape remains one of the most moving pieces of music (to me) i’ve ever heard

I'm trying so hard to say anything else but this album is just so damn good. Sadly overplayed in my headphone for the last 10 years, so it just doesn't affect me as much as it did in 2016, but the quantity of memories i have with this record is not matched by anything else. 10/10, 11/10 even when you don't have some pretencious prick saying this album is overrated

Radiohead’s status as an all time great band had long been cemented by this time. But, In Rainbows launched them into the highest echelons of the most elite acts in history. The late career gem is hard enough, and they gave us a late career entry that goes toe to toe with anything in their catalog. Firing on all cylinders, and showcasing everything that they do well, In Rainbows is exceptional.

Incrível

Overall a very solid Radiohead album. I don't think there were any songs I disliked on this one.

One of the best albums ever recorded

Love the tone of this whole album and it’s definitely one of Radiohead’s best. I actually believe “Weird fishes” might be the song that introduced me to the band, as i briefly remember hearing it when i was little. Fav song: “Jigsaw falling into place”. Probably a couple boring tracks but overall it’s definitely a favourite of mine.

This really is a grower of an album. The more I listen to it, the more I like it. I remember the first time listening to it like 10 years ago, I really didn't care for it (Loved OK Computer and Kid A at the time though). Now though, this album is just fucking great. Love the drive of Jigsaw Falling Into Place. 15 Step is great also. Only track that's not quite working for me is Bodysnatchers, but that's less to do with it not necessarily being a great song (It is) and more to do that it sounds like When The Saints Go Marching In, and I can't get my brain to not make that connection. Knew going into this project Radiohead would be a rare band that would get two five star ratings from me (For OK Computer and Kid A), but didn't think it'd be getting a third with this one. Amazing album.

The greatest post 2000 album

YESSSS I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO FREAKING MUCH! not a single bad song on it. SO BOMB…Radiohead never dissapoints

Fuck these goddamn Zionist bitches. Anyway, this is my favorite Radiohead record still.

one of my favorite albums of all time, even though i already heard it many times before, i will listen again. just finished listening to this masterpiece again, no doubt 5 stars.

Such a perfect album. I didn’t expect Radiohead to put out my favorite of their catalog this late in their career, but it’s a total masterpiece.

I am liking this album so much more than I anticipated. It’s not my favorite Radiohead, and I thought I’d not like the more quirky high electronic route that the band went in after the late 90s/early 2000s, but I really love some of the slower songs like “Nude” and “All I Need”. I’m sold on this album being a good one. I

I generally don’t really gel with Radiohead’s music and find their artsy experimentation to miss more than it hits for me. But In Rainbows is one of two of their records where the stars align and it all hits for me. 15 Step, Nude, Weird Fishes, Reckoner, these all carry a level of emotional weight and musical engagement that I just don’t feel in their more acclaimed works like Kid A

what a great album from start to finish. Just enough edgy guitars with distortion to keep us early radiohead fans happy. But mixes in well with slower and more melodic vibes and the increasing presence of electronica in their work. My 3rd fave album after OK Computer and The Bends.

You just can’t fault it, an excellent album overall honestly

When I saw the band, Radiohead, I was not expecting a lot. But, I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely listen to this album the second time.

OVERALL: This album was the first I considered a "10." Who knows what that really means, but what I do know is this album is a gorgeous, fun, and textured album. The band builds crescendos with ease, with Thom's vocals soaring over the cacophony below. Every time I listen i manage to pick out new details from each song. 10/10 T3: All I Need, Weird Fishes, 15 Step

;;

fucking classic!

Another album from my post-Radiohead era. This is quite good. I wouldn't give it a 5 on first listen, but I'm guessing that upon further listens, it will develop into one. Here's to the future.

I fell off the Radiohead wagon for a bit after Hail to the Thief, so I missed this record when it was released. When I reconnected on Moon Shaped Pool, I went backwards and discovered this record. It's become one of my favorites of theirs. Reckoner and House of Cards are tops for me, but I'm happy/sad anywhere on this album. Jonny Greenwood is basically playing jazz and that pushes them somewhere new.

vinyl day! perfect album

As a fan of Radiohead and someone who has listened to this album dozens of times, my bias is going to be front and center in this review. Since I own this album on vinyl, I played it for a fresh listen. Even though I knew what score I would be giving it before starting, I think it is important to give it a fresh listen, as, with albums like this one, you can listen to it 100 times, but on that 101st listen you gain a new perspective, or pick up something new from it. Commercially, this is the album was the straw which broke the camel's back on pirating music, while also being the canary in the coal mine as a pioneer of low cost/"free" music streaming. Radiohead knew people would pirate their music, so they figured why not take a slice of the cake by getting ahead of the game and releasing their album on their website for "free", AKA providing a "pay whatever you want" option. While the album would eventually receive a formal physical release, it would open the floodgates for the creation of legal music streaming in which artists received royalties for however many times their music was played. Musically, this album is fantastic - Radiohead are known for being ardent perfectionists, and this album follows in that pattern. In Rainbows is riddled with mind bending audio effectsand odds and ends instruments which dovetail perfectly with what they are known for - near impossible drum beats, guitar and bass riffs absolutely dripping in grunge, all tied up in a bow with Thom Yorke's impressive vocal range. What amazes me most with this album, however, is the meaning behind the lyrics, and why/how this album shows that music can be art. Part of this deeper meaning ties into the groups perfectionism and the album's title, "In Rainbows". Throughout their career up to this point, Radiohead had always (with the exception of Hail to the Thief) tried to capture music in its most perfect form, at the expense of their mental and physical health, and ultimately were unable to be absolutely perfect. Their work up to this point was comparable to trying to capture a rainbow - no matter how hard you try, or what you do, it's impossible, as perfection, like a rainbow, is simply an idea rather than a tangible achievement. In addition to the band addressing their trying to capture perfection, their burnout started creeping into their personal lives, and the members began hitting a point where they felt they were aging and simultaneously hitting their peak output. This can be heard in tracks throughout this album such as 15 step, bodysnatchers, nude, as they realize they are driving towards middle age with what they ascertain is "not much to show for" (crazy to the rest of us normal people, but perfectionism is a bitch). An even deeper meaning is layered within this album in its comparison of middle age to the fable of Faust, in which a man makes a deal with the devil in order to gain all knowledge, all abilities, all ways of feeling pleasure. This is explained throughout the album as well, in tracks such as faust arp, reckoner, and videotape. How Radiohead ties this all together in this album while keeping with the "Rainbow" motif amazes me, in that each track explains/shows how it feels to go down either one path where you try to do the right thing but are then disappointed, or make a deal with the devil and feel ultimate pleasure however you come off as an asshole or, even worse, a predator. It's seen in 15 step/bodysnatchers, in which someone is trying to reason with their longtime partner for their spark going out in 15 step, and blaming their partner for ruining their relationship in the other In nude/all I need, someone agonizes over being vulnerable with a partner in Nude, while essentially stalking someone who is being vulnerable in all I need In weird fishes/faust arp, someone acts curious towards going deeper, looking inward in weird fishes, while simply staying surface level/mulling making an easy deal with the devil in faust arp In house of cards/jigsaw falling into place, someone talks casually about having a "no strings attached" relationship in house of cards, while attempting to get someone drunk/drugged so that they can take them home in jigsaw falling into place In reckoner/videotape, someone agonizes about whether or not they are good enough to gain entrance into heaven in reckoner, while coming to grips that hell is the only result due to a life of debauchery in videotape These ten tracks all fit in perfectly with the rainbow motif - moving back and forth like both ends of a rainbow, covering every bit of the spectrum similar to how a rainbow covers the electromagnetic spectrum. Truly beautiful, and tragic, for such an amazing album 5/5

In Rainbows is top 3 Radiohead albums for me. Here is my ranking: Kid A is #1 and this is tied for 2 with The Bends. I know it is a bad ranking but it is what I feel in my soul and heart and pussy/dick. “But where is OK Computer?” you ask. You’re shaking. Sobbing. “I never got into that one,” I say, enlightened, ascending to heaven, trying to get Andrew from Barcode Karaoke to add “Just.” Is the Bends even on here? It’s a British list I bet they’re all on here. Those fucking freaks. Anyway Weird Fishes rips, Bodysnatchers rips, Reckoner rips, it all rips. Incredible.

it's in rainbows. 5.

U, že 3. Radiohead album! Oki doki. "House of Cards" in "Reckoner" dokaj redno poslušam, k jih mam na neki playlisti, ostale pa po naslovu ne prepoznam, mogoč po zvoku, let's see. Všeč mi je začetek ("15 Step"). Ne morm se sicr odločit kok mi je všeč sam zvok elektronskega percussion. Ampak mi je tekom komada (sam komad) prirasel k srcu. (Fak, absolutno pojma nimam, a sm kdaj že poslušala ta album. Če sm, se ne spomnim.) "Bodysnatchers" mi je kr amazing. Aaa, "Nude" tud poznam. Koj k se je začel, sm prepoznala. Sj res, tak melanholičen mi je. Da uporabim spet ta horrible izraz: banger after banger.

Every other Radiohead album took time for me to get into. The Bends, OK Computer, and Kid A, which are all perfect albums to me, took me weeks to months of relistening for them to finally click. For In Rainbows, it was instantaneous. Part of the reason is that it's probably Radiohead's most accessible album. It's not as weird or out there compared to OK Computer or Kid A and it's not too heavy for more casual listeners compared to The Bends. On the other hand, it's also just an insanely good and beautifully constructed album. It has excellent pacing, and the entire thing makes the most of its runtime. You've got your heavy rockers, like Bodysnatchers and Jigsaw Falling Into Place, and your slower ethereal songs, like Nude and All I Need. And then you've got everything else that sits in between in its own divine spaces. It's amazing that they had 3 historic albums, in addition to their other terrific work, to already label them as one of the greatest bands of all time, and over a decade later, they decided to reinvent themselves yet again to cement their name for centuries to come. This album is an absolute marvel, and everytime I listen to it, it's like I'm falling in love with it all over again.

First Radiohead album and largely the first true trip into alternative rock taken. I was blown away by how much I enjoyed this, likely due to my unfamiliarity with the genre. As I listen more and gain a greater understanding of this style, I imagine my rating of this album will slip, on the other hand, with it being the the first venture into it, it may remain a monolith I compare everything to and stay a strong 5. I love those drums on 15 Step and the way the instrumentals reach a climax on All I Need.

I have clear memories of this album's release back in 2007 as it was the first time you could pay what you felt like for a band's work. It has since become seen as potentially their best work (I don't necessarily agree with this) as it mixed the experimental nature of Kid A-mnesiac with some more expressive melodies. The album is an original listening experience and certainly has some interesting recording techniques. The second disc was hard to get hold of originally and to have it instantly available to stream now feels a bit strange, and a bit easy. Whether they ever topped this album subsequently is questionable.

There is something really captivating about the drum(pattern)s. Combined with the dramatic voice of Thom Yorke it creates something unique. When I first saw a friend from University buy this album I thought of him to be the ultimate hipster, some recent Radiohead album is probably not better than the early stuff. I was wrong and it is a very amazing album

do i hate loving or do i love hating radiohead?

This is the album that made me fall in love with Radiohead’s music, and it remains far and away my favorite album by them. It’s a studied balance of pop sensibility and avant-garde experimentation; clean tones and harmony folding into waves of distortion.

I had never heard this before. ...I understand the hype

This is an album I had not listened to since high school, and since I don’t usually sit down and listen to full albums very often, revisiting it felt pretty special. And wow, it holds up. In Rainbows is such a fast, beautiful, and completely absorbing listen. Almost every song has this ethereal quality to it, but it also feels packed, powerful, and huge in a way that never becomes exhausting. It’s the kind of album that feels like it’s floating, but also somehow has both feet firmly planted on the ground. So yeah, first album down, and this was an excellent start.

i feel like one of my headphones working only half the time enhanced the experience

banger

Excellent from top to bottom. Weird Fishes is incredible.

Ooof banger

This is my favorite Radiohead album. There isn’t a single song here I wouldn’t at least consider great. The funky rhythm of 15 Step, the fuzzy guitars of Bodysnatchers, the haunting melody of Nude. I could go on and on about how much I love this one. The album cover is also really cool.

preciso falar algo?

Listens: 5 Standout Tracks: Bodysnatchers, All I Need, Jigsaw Falling Into Place An absolutely stunning, air-tight 42 minutes of music with excellent song diversity, beautiful vocals and instrumentation. A top 3 Radiohead album for me, along with OK Computer and Hail To The Thief.

This album litterally feels like going through a rainbow. The song are so colourfull and beautifull. Probably Radiohead's best produced album IMO. Only miss is "House of cards" I think this song is plain boring honestly. But like "Nude","Weird fishes","Reckoner", etc.. all 10/10 songs. Especially "Weird fishes", one of my fav song of all time. Good rule of thumb when talking abouth music: never listen to anyone who think that radiohead is hot trash. Rainbow/5

This is one of my favorite albums of all time. In Rainbows knows you better than you know yourself. It sounds old and it sounds new. It longs for company and solitude. It’ll cuddle you and punch you at the same time. It’s journey. Every song in this album is perfect. It describes everything I feel into the simplest rawest terms with such care and beautiful precision. I love this album.

Not quite my go-to Radiohead album (that's either OK Computer or Kid A for me), but still a phenomenal listening experience!

In terms of 2000s albums dare I say this is essentially the Dark Side of the Moon. Each song is so fleshed out, fresh, and clean that you really can not make a criticism. You can flow through the album without recognizing that 40 mins has gone by. What I found really interesting is that much of the guitar riffs throughout we're kind of played gently to give it a soft texture. Just a neat thing I noticed

Radioheads peak

I just love it. The feelings are immaculate. Yet the songs are so similar but i love it in the albums. It is like yearning in a desparate way.

hell ya

RATING: 10/10 HIGHLIGHT: Jigsaw Falling Into Place LOWLIGHT: Faust Arp

The epitome of a grower of an album. I remember the whole pay what you want jobby when this was released. I naturally paid nothing but was still somehow disappointed. Oddly after Ok Computer this felt too experimental for my liking. Radiohead doing dance music? The world just didn't make sense anymore. Fast forward however many years it's been and this is more often than not my favourite Radiohead album. Which is a high bar indeed as they are all incredible.

I feel like In Rainbows gets overshadowed in the critical consensus by several other Radiohead albums, but it’s definitely my favorite. One of my top 10 albums.

At first I thought it wasn't going to be as good as my first listen, but as soon as weird fishes/arpeggi started playing I knew that we were so back

10/10 álbum, en una parte tirando al final se pone más chill pero no me molestó, me gustó demasiado y aparte tiene un montón de temas 10/10

SO good - glad I finally listened to it in full. Videotape and Reckoner great of course, and discovered the gorgeous Nude and All I Need. Love the unusual chords throughout all songs.

Jigsaw falling pushes this one past a four

One of my favourite, and one of the albums of all time. No bad songs.

Excelente. De lo mejor de Radiohead

Monday, 25 May, 2026 Memorial Day Amazing album. Radiohead re define themselves yet again. The release of this album is also revolutionary. I’ve listened to this album probably 20 times before and I still heard new things.

良いです

How did these dudes manage to make one of their best albums at this stage of their career? God they just fucking rule. I love this album. Weird fishes, 15 step, jigsaw falling into place are still always heavy in my rotation. I can’t believe it’s almost 20 years old, I love them and I love this album.

Top banana!

finally <3 every time I listen to this (which has been many, many times) I have a new favorite song. This time it was videotape. Love these crazy kids

Radiohead's most consistent and varied album. Absolutely incredible. Each track could feasibly be a favourite song off it and with good reason too.

need to experience this on shrooms

Fue un álbum placentero de que me toque el día de mi cumpleaños. Ya estaba familiarizada con las canciones más conocidas, pero disfruté aún más de escucharlas con el disco en su totalidad. ↑: 15 Step, Bodysnatchers, Nude, Weird Fishes / Arpeggi, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, Videotape ↓: –

Beautiful album. This album is too good for this list

Controversial opinion, but this might be the best Radiohead record. It's pure beauty, and I love it very much.

Yea, I still like Radiohead. I get it, I get it. But I still think this stuff is good. I didn't really like Hail To The Thief when it came out so when I heard this one, it was a nice surprise. I remember I just moved across the country to the city I live in now so I have some pretty vivid memories of sitting in my apartment listening to it.

I love the entire album. Radiohead is just a feeling..

Thanks thom

Nooo guys I don’t listen to radiohead aha ha what noo One of my fav albums of all time

Is this the best Radiohead album? It could well be. Certainly in the top 8. Special shout out to Weird Fishes, which is a song that blows me away every time I hear it.

everyone say thank you radiohead

A hesitant 5. Dang, this album is a lot better than I remember it being. I bought this album back when it was released (looks like I bought just a physical copy and didn’t partake in the “pay what you want” thing). My general memory of the album is thinking it was good but not great. Not sure what cause me to change my opinion.

Is this the best Radiohead? Maybe, but probably my favorite at least

I mean… it’s fantastic.

In Rainbows von Radiohead. Mehr muss ich nicht sagen

MY FAV!!

In eighth grade, I sang in a boy's choir—I'd just been promoted to the "Lower Octave," the choir for boys whose voices had changed, though my voice was still finding its footing in this new register. There was a high school senior in the group. I doubt he thought much about me, but I looked up to him—he was kind, and smart, and an excellent singer... and a massive Radiohead fan. I remember going home after a rehearsal and googling "Radiohead". At the time, all the talk was about their recently released album, "In Rainbows." So strangely, In Rainbows was the first Radiohead album I was aware of, but not the first one I listened to. In fact, I had no way of easily acquiring the album at that time. I couldn't drive myself to the music store, and even if I could, I was rather cautious in my music taste at the time, mostly relying on whatever CDs my parents had lying around. And the only music streaming I had was Pandora, which didn't allow you to select specific songs, but would play random stuff for you in a certain genre. My hands were tied, and Radiohead became my favorite band I'd never listened to. When I was a few years older, I bought a used copy of OK Computer, and listened to it religiously in my car stereo. From there, I got into The Bends, and Kid A, and Amnesiac, and then, for some reason, stopped. I remember reading an article on Cracked.com about OK Computer and In Rainbows being sneaky companion pieces that you could assemble into a giant double album (dubbed 0110)—a kind of modern "Dark Side of the Rainbows" theory. I found it so cool, and in fact, shared the theory as if it were fact for years. Yet still, I never listened to In Rainbows. Why? I really don't know. And that has, essentially, remained true for all these intervening years. That is, until today. It's a beautiful album, more accessible than a lot of their previous releases, more restrained too. What has kept me from it? Is it a fear I wouldn't love it? In my mind, it is the dividing line between old Radiohead and new Radiohead, but that's based on nothing, except for my own personal chronology. I've listened to it three times since it popped up on the list. It didn't blow me away the way OK Computer and Kid A did when I first heard them, but who cares? It's excellent, and rewards repeat listens. I tried setting up the 0110 album in Apple Music, and you know what? I think the theory is kind of bullshit. But what did stand out to me is that the In Rainbows tracks really held their own against the OK Computer tracks—no dip in quality at all. If for no other reason, THAT is what's getting this album 5 stars today. Funny how music puts us on these trips down memory lane. Even, sometimes, music we haven't heard.

I didn't give this album much of a chance when it came out even though I was and am a big fan of OK Computer, Kid A and Amnesiac. Just an amazing album, they really know to set a mood. Impeccable songwriting, musicianship, production. The only song I left off my 1001 playlist was the last song Videotape.

I remember being disappointed when this came out but since it's a Radiohead album it's grown on me considerably since then.

The goat

One of my favorite albums. So much emotion in thom York's voice. Great for a winter morning

MASTERPIECE

Fantastic album, listen to it all the time Rating 9.5/10 Favorite Song: Jigsaw Falling into Place

Holy shi I was just "listening" to Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin and its 9:00 pm on the day I should've been listening to this. Please Jesus protect me, the Radiohead purists are gonna come for me. I just finished it and wow. This connects with me way more than kid a did. I truly felt like the life in me staring to come back when I was listening to this.

Ive never heard this one and holy shit its eye opening to the fact that I love radiohead. Yes bro, yes.

One of my favourite albums of all time. The aggressive intro of 15 Step that punches into your soul, the bit too catchy Bodysnatchers, the heavenly Nude, a song about weird fishes that's still good as fuck, All I Need is songs like All I Need, following three songs that are very pleasant for the ear, an amazing buildup with Jigsaw Falling into Place and a scenic outro that will probably be played on my funeral, Videotape. I'd also suggest listening to the second disk DIRECTLY after this, the outro of Videotape blends in perfectly into MK1 This is one for the good days, 5/5 The album art is simply beautiful, the booklet that comes with the CD is just simply too beautiful. I think the cover would've been even more perfect if they removed the text so we can appreciate the cover more. After Kid A my favourite Radiohead album (cover)

Easily in my top 3 favorite albums of all time. I have listened to this album hundreds of times and great enjoy it every single time. "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi" always hits me hard in a way that I can't explain. Something about it just connects with me on a deep level.

Love this.

Radiohead tem tanta textura e cor, acho que esse álbum tem a melhor paleta de cores do catálogo deles. Pelo menos é o meu favorito. Impulável. Essa capa também é absurda de apropriada pro som que a contém.

alright this is my favorite of their albums because I’m a filthy little millennial who doesn’t give a flying (nor a sedentary) fuck about what the critics say so you can go ahead and blame thom yorke for giving this opening song to twilight as what is hands-down the most iconic closing credits scene of all time (close your eyes and imagine me pushing ‘don’t you (forget about me)’ down a flight of very very tall stairs. then I spit on it for good measure)

Очень парящий альбом. Почему то сразу захотелось узнать про атмосферное электричество и эфир. Супер просто.

Amazing

Listened to on my Apple AirPods Max. A masterpiece, plain and simple. This is an album I’m already well familiar with, and I am a Radiohead fan on the whole, and still there is something so beautiful and masterful about this album. Over Radiohead’s career, they found their footing in the new wave of British rock bands rising in the 90s, set themselves as icons of that wave with huge hit ‘Creep’ and the foreboding new world phobia of album ‘OK Computer’, before transitioning themselves into different lanes, whether that be the pure electronica of ‘Kid A’ or the experimentality of albums after. The point is, Radiohead had a long and storied career before arriving confidently and assuredly at ‘In Rainbows’, my personal favorite album from them. This work sees the band work all of their favored sensibilities into something incredibly focused and direct, with substantive nuance. Most of these songs play it very straightforward in terms of it’s pure skeletal structure, but the range of vibes from song to song—like the fast paced distortion of ‘Bodysnatchers’ into the reeled in and slim ‘Nude’—the expert fusion of electronic elements within the tracks, like the clattering programmed drums of ‘15 Step’, and the honed lyricism that floats within familiar Radiohead territory but with a deep maturity to it—all these elements come together to create one of the most professional and enchanting listening experiences I have discovered. It feels like Radiohead distilled down into their purest essence. There’s exploration into weirdness, layered tracking that folds in many sounds, movements within songs that change up the attitude, it’s everything I’d expect from Radiohead but delivered with such an unmatched clarity and vision that I can’t help but be blown away upon each listen. The songwriting itself is a particular high note throughout the album, with many songs following a path of self-reflection and reflection upon love and relationships, delivered in this wispy, gloomy way that hesitates to be direct, while being strong enough not to come off as vague. The song ‘All I Need’ is almost like a spiritual successor to ‘Creep’, though trading the unabashed young feelings of a lack of self-confidence for this unrequited and unhealthy attachment that plays the same in feeling, but comes off more somber and affecting, at least to me, due to the aging of Thom Yorke, who was about a decade and a half removed from that initial, emotionally barring hit. ‘In Rainbows’ is just a monumental achievement. Following the exploratory dives into what it meant to be Radiohead as a project after their triumphant ‘OK Computer’, the band found themselves grown up, and able to cohesively work elements from all of that music into this 100% lean, no fat, laser focused album.

Extremely complex, yet still expertly grounded. "Nude" is a stunning ambient pop gem, "Weird Fishes" is this Midwest emo meets Krautrock explosion of bright pastel color, the uber-downtempo "All I Need." The entire thing is really striking and ultimately their most beautiful album. I see the light on this album. It is a landmark art rock record for the 2000s as a decade. It distills what makes this band special into a very tight listening experience devoid of any real filler or less seen through aspects.

This was my introduction to Radiohead and melodically it's hard to think of a better one. All the songs here are extremely beautiful and really demonstrate the possibilities of "rock" beyond most of the rock n roll albums on the generator.

Listened to my vinyl copy while playing Pokemon Champions. I remember sitting down on my laptop in my University lounge in 2007 to buy the surprise new Radiohead album. The website asked me a question I've never been asked when buying music - name your price. I believe I paid $15 at the time but you could have said $0 and it would have worked. It's a perfect album. More immediately accessible than Kid A, rocks harder than OK Computer. No filler, no skips. If I could only listen to one song for the rest of my life, it would be Reckoner with zero hesitation. I'd give it 10 stars if I could.

Starts off extremely strong with 15 Step, and then never quite lets up. Bodysnatchers, All I Need, and Reckoner also stand out on this album for me, but to be totally honest? I think every track was a banger. I know a few of Radiohead's songs, but this makes me feel like I've been missing out on a ton of good stuff that I need to play catch-up on.

Lowkey prismatic.

Best Radiohead album top to bottom, and that is REALLY saying something. Favorite track: All I Need

Radiohead is hit and miss for me. This one is a hit.

An absolute masterpiece.

A proud 5

Yaaaaa they maybe are terrible people now but this album is still great

My fav Radioheadplaat. Zo goed da ik de spotify "Disc 2" erbij heb genomen.

this is the kind of music I think of when I think of radiohead (positive)

The Radiohead album for when you need get shit done

Radiohead es Denis bandas favoritas es un 1000 este álbum es una belleza

I already knew that I love this. Radiohead always hits and “All I need” got me through some tough times. The way they get a bunch of small sounds out together and make it sound so unique and amazing is something I really like. I feel blessed and this is kind of how I believe it feels to be high. Love this album, it is one of Radiohead's underrated albums and I would definitely give it 5/5.

Maybe my new favorite Radiohead album? It’s up there with ‘The Bends’ for me. Not as cold as their other opuses, but still atmospheric. Dark and fuzzy. I was with them for the whole runtime. Maybe the only Radiohead record I’ve heard that I wouldn’t describe as “bleak.”

A fucking gut punch

I love this album

This is a masterpiece that absolutely deserves its critical acclaim. The performance on the vocals, man…I’m still lost for words on how I’m feeling right now, and not forgetting about the instrumentation, which is S tier as well. This might be THE best art-rock album of all time, hands down, it’s amazing.

Perfection

I love this album from start to finish. Always interesting. Treads the line perfectly of being weird and accessible.

Erittäin hyvä albumi ilman fillereitä, 5/5

The low points are still extremely good

This was already one of my all time favorite albums. Easy five stars.

Beautiful album from front to back, probably alternates between my 3rd or 4th favorite Radiohead album. Not exactly a "back to basics" album but very much a full band effort. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi is my personal favorite with the the way it builds and stacks the interlocking guitar lines, but so many other musical highlights. I just love this album.

The last and My favourite of the 6 'Head albums on this list, though possibly topped by Moon Shaped Pool overall. Deserving of its classic status. Has some of the experimentation of Kid A/Amnesiac although better integrated here and warmer, less glacial. Drumming in particular superb, Krautrocky in places, as name-dropped on Faust Arp. House of Cards probably my highlight.

I’m not the kind of person to say everything Radiohead has ever done is a masterpiece, but this is as close to perfect as albums really get. It dips a bit in the middle from All I Need to Reckoner, but the rest is just brilliant. Best Radiohead album for sure

Kind of impossible to be objective about this one; it was a formative album at a formative moment in my life. In the midst of deep involvement of artistry, one of my favorite bands released an unquestioned masterpiece. It was the culmination of everything Radiohead had explored to that point, honing and crafting their sound directly to the purest form, exquisitely crafted and emotionally sweeping. It's just a perfect piece of art, no question, and maybe I'd fault it if I didn't have so much wrapped into it...but probably not.

In my personal galaxy this album shines the most. I think every song is prefect, and weirdfishes is my favorite song of all time.

This is my favorite album. Absolute masterpiece!

Almost flawless

music is love

Just the guitar tone alone is enough to get me there. The last great Radiohead album.

One of my favourite albums of all time. It has a warmer sound, good production, great experimentation and awesome composition through every track.

Хороший альбом

It’s insane that the 2007 revolution of this album’s release is now the secondary story to how freakin good it is.

WOOOOOOOO!!!!! Every note of this record is stitched into my soul. This is the best live band in the world. They dominated modern music for a solid 20 years. This album is a feast. Perfect. Beautiful. Heartbreaking. Stunning. Innovative. Still!

In heaven, a moody, guitar backed triumph for one of the best.

I liked Radiohead growing up but somehow missed this album when it came out.

I like this album. It's more approachable than any Radiohead album since The Bends. I'm really liking this album so far. All I need is great. This is a great album. It feels more laid back than anything else they've done. Something about videotape gets to me. Sad piano?

Bliss. Parfait. Reckoner particulièrement et Jogsaw falling into place

Beautiful. Like floating through a river made of strange alien stars.

For me, In Rainbows feels like quiet chaos desire, guilt, and beauty wrapped in something soft and controlled. It’s intimate without trying too hard, almost like emotions you don’t fully say out loud. There’s a subtle sensuality and a kind of elegant sadness that pulls you in instead of breaking you apart. It doesn’t explode, it lingers. Sometimes it feels distant, almost untouchable, but that’s part of its charm. It’s not an album you understand, it’s one you feel especially when you’re alone with your thoughts.

This is already one of my favorite albums.

5/5, avant avoir écouté 5/5, après avoir écouté

Every track is a sonic masterpiece. One of my favorite albums of all time. I’ve listened to the album 100’s of times, and believe that one needs to listen to it several times before you can start to fully appreciate it.

Cine puro

love it

Well I've been waiting for this one, and it rightly takes its place in the exclusive 5* category of my list. What a phenomenal album. The opening 4 tracks have got to be some of the best on any album, with Weird Fishes / Arpeggi being my most common answer to the question 'What's your favourite song?'. All I Need is probably the weakest track on the album for me but when a song of that quality is the weakest then that speaks for itself. Maybe my favourite Radiohead album? Favourites: 15 Step Bodysnatchers Nude Weird Fishes / Arpeggi Reckoner Jigsaw Falling Into Place

Album No. 0203 on my list. Nice, my third Radiohead album already. Considering they're my favorite band of all time and "In Rainbows" is their best album after their iconic three-album run from 1995 ("The Bends") to 2000 ("Kid A"), the final rating was fixed from the beginning. Nevertheless, I listened to the thing again to properly appreciate it. "In Rainbows" is probably Radiohead's most easily accessible album after 1997's "OK Computer". Despite the heavy use of electronic music, the whole thing is pretty easy to listen to. It appears to me that this is Radiohead's happiest album, even though the lyrics are sometimes pretty dark and/or cryptic. Yet, it's just not as angry as their earliest albums, less aggressive and rough as its predecessor ("Hail To The Thief"), and less eerie than "Kid A", and "Amnesiac". The songs on "In Rainbows" are groovy, they're playful, they're catchy, they're spheric, they're percussive, and all of them are great. There is really not a single bad song on this album, so I'm having a hard time deciding which songs to put on my playlist. I'll go with "15 Step", "Bodysnatchers", "All I Need", "House of Cards", and "Jigsaw Falling Into Place". This is however just a matter of representing the whole album and personal favorites. From sheer quality, I could really have put all ten songs on this album here. To summarize: "In Rainbows" is a great album, even by Radiohead's high standards. Together with "The Bends", and "OK Computer", it's a great way to get into the band, a "Radiohead for beginners" kinda thing. It's definitely one of the greatest albums of the 21st century. 5/5 stars, of course!

There is nothing to say about this album bcuz its so so great!

Weird Fishes, Faust Arp, House of Cards, it's an excellent album. From an excellent band.

Fave songs- nude, all I need

A one of its kind album even still all these years later

I love and hate how emotional Radiohead gets me but every song is so full of emotion and musical genius I just can't help but to love everything they do.

Notes for a sad sole.

No notes

Nearly their best album. For me it’s pipped to the post by Ok Computer, but this is an easy 5 star album and an astonishing piece of work. It’s also an amazing quality recording if you’re into that kind of thing. Has an immense soundstage and dynamics. Proper HiFi demo record. Love it. 5

Incredible. Need to continually revisit. RYM: Y (#3) Saved a song: Y

This album has no bad songs on it. The best songs on it are Nude, Weird Fishes, All I Need, Jigsaw Falling Into Place, and Videotape. I love this album, for sure a top 20 album of all time. Overall, I would give it a 4.9/5!

Geweldig album. Begint al goed :)

This is a one of a kind album. The sounds coming out of my speakers are ethereal and otherworldly, and the way it all builds to a cacophonous climax is so emotionally impactful. Johnny Greenwood and Ed O’Brien have a way of manipulating sound that makes Radiohead the band that it is. The songs are brilliantly written. The rhythm section is rock solid and Thom’s vocals are absolutely beautiful. Easiest 5 stars.

Awesome album. Keep on finding new things to love on this album.

Me encantó, muy instrumental.

Every time I hear this album I think it's without a doubt my favourite Radiohead album. Then I inevitably listen to the Bends and OK Computer and remember they are also my favourite... Are Radiohead one of my favourite bands? This album ticks so many boxes for me, great musicianship, production, song writing, experimentation, a bit of rock, pop and dance. It's lovely.

(1001/100)

Immortalized in the timeless classic Twilight.

9/10. I think I finally understand the hype around Radiohead. I always just kinda overlooked them as being music for the most pretentious music elitists possible. However, this album is phenomenal. I think it was when the guitar came in on 15 Step where I completely ascended and didn't come down until the album ended. Honestly, the only thing keeping this from being a 10/10 is Thom Yorke's voice. It always sounds like he's doing his best crying baby impression, and it's still my biggest problem with Radiohead. Pros: Incredible interplay with the music, and all of the songs are so incredibly atmospheric that it feels like you're in space for the whole album. Cons: Thom Yorke's voice. Especially on Videotape. Favorite Tracks: 15 Step, Nude, All I Need, Faust Arp, Reckoner, House of Cards Least Favorite Track: Bodysnatchers Would listen again? Yes.

No album quite like this one, a regular listen for me

I hated Radiohead sm when I was younger, and that’s why children shouldn’t be able to vote They are dumb and stupid 5 stars

One of the best of all time, and certainly Radiohead’s best in my eyes. Not a single skip, every song is a 5/5. The musicianship and songwriting on this album never fails to blow me away, where the album takes you to so many different places despite always feeling coherent & hugely impactful.

I mean it’s in rainbows

One of my favourite albums of all time

Best of the best

If you were to approach me on a random day of my life and ask, "What album would you like to listen to right now?" my answer is most likely to be In Rainbows. It's a behemoth of an album, pretty close to perfect in my opinion. Without listening to it closely, it's easy to think of it as an electronic, or at least heavily synthesizer-dependent record, but at its core this is a rock album with some strings and keys thrown in: the effects (barring some guitar/bass pedals and drum filters) are fewer and farther between than the impeccable production -- and the truly incredible use of Thom's voice as an instrument -- tricks you into thinking. In between a few heavier songs, this is as atmospheric as music gets without getting into ambient territory. It's moody as hell, and the ebb and flow of the moods were clearly sequenced with a lot of intention. Do yourself a favor: on a nice day, get a little stoned, go for a walk someplace pretty, and crank this album with the bass boosted. You'll feel like you're floating, then crashing down, and ultimately transported. If you're a softy like me, you might even get a little misty around "Nude," "All I Need," "Reckoner," and/or "Videotape". It's an incredible experience -- not something you can say about many albums.

I've been learning some songs from this album on guitar. It's a masterpiece.

In Rainbows is such an easy 5/5. A fever dream—an album that moves like smoke through a dim room, brushing against you before slipping back into the dark. Every song feels half-remembered and half-foretold, a pulse wrapped in velvet and static. Reckoner is my ringtone. It’s the rare record that haunts more than it plays, the quiet phantom at the center of my collection, and one of the greatest works ever carved out of sound. In Rainbows is a 5/5 opus that slips between dimensions—an album less heard than inhaled. It shimmers in that liminal space where desire becomes geometry, where every chord feels like a secret only the initiated can decode. It’s a record that doesn’t beg for understanding; it assumes you’re perceptive enough to follow. In the vast sprawl of my collection, this record stands in rarified air, an artifact of rare intelligence, a masterpiece for those who listen with more than just their ears. And if you don't get it, this will be on YOUR videotape.

Ough. Ouugggghhh. Lads, you've done it again. Banger after banger. Really fuckin good album.

Best Radiohead album from a millennial perspective

I can’t praise this album enough. Certainly one of my favourites of all time. In 10 tracks, Radiohead shows what they are capable of. They are all bangers and it could have easily been a greatest hits collection, and it really feels like all the previous albums led up to this. There’s rocky guitar-based tracks, but the electronic aspects are not ignored here. The drums are tight on every song, but honestly all 5 are at the top of their game.

For my money, it's tough to beat Radiohead's output from OK Computer through this album. 4.5/5

Easy 5 for me and perhaps my favourite Radiohead album. In some ways feels like their Magnum Opus, incredibly complex and a combination of the various sound styles they experimented with on different albums up until this point in their career.

In Rainbows was my first exposure to Radiohead. Prior to this release, I'd probably heard a few songs here and there, but was never really receptive to their music. After In Rainbows was released, I became absolutely obsessed for a time and quickly sought out the rest of their discography. Now, almost 20 years later, I honestly don't return to In Rainbows frequently. Whenever I feel like listening to Radiohead, I always go straight to Kid A or OK Computer, and if I feel like listening to their newer work, I tend to reach for the King of Limbs, which I think is severely underrated. That said, even after ignoring In Rainbows for years, I still feel intimately familiar with all the songs on this album and there are some great songs on this album! Jigsaw Falling Into Place and Weird Fishes / Arpeggi are the two tracks that really stand out to me. It feels great to be returning to this album today.

This is one of Radiohead's best, hard to believe it's ben almost twenty years since its release. Weird Fishes is one of my all time favorites. The only middling track here is Faust Arp, but even then it's not a horrid listen. Easy five stars.

Great Radiohead album!

What a masterpiece! Definitely my favorite Radiohead album

Brilliant album, start to back, it's a tightly packed, cohesive and wonderfully produced record. All tracks sound meaningful and Radiohead really sound super mature here. Stand out tracks: Jigsaw falling into place, Reckoner, 15 Step, Nude, Just all of the songs. In Rainbows contains easily the most accessible music made by the band in the last decade. Not just in sound but subject matter too. Lead single "Jigsaw Falling Into Place" is the perfect example of this. 5/5

One of my favorites. Favorite tracks: '15 Step' and 'Reckoner'.

This is my favorite, if not the best Radiohead album. EVERY TRACK IS INCREDIBLE. Also, in case you're wondering, OK Computer is the best Radiohead album.

Always a great pleasure to listen to. I forgot how flowing/natural the progression is between songs. Certainly gives the impressions cyclical chaos.

Weird fishes/Arpeggi and Jigsaw falling into place might be the most magical/mind tickling songs I have ever heard or found. I have listened to them a million times already and still they keep tickling my brain in the right way.

FUCKIN LSITEND ARLEADY, PRETTY NICE ALBUM. ALL I NEED IS BUSTLING AMAZING. TEXTURES AND VOCAL ARE PEAK SOME SLOW SONGS, SOME WITH GOOD PACE.

I love this album, its so good. Every song is good and some of them are like top songs ever. Theres so much feeling in them, its interesting to hear all the little sounds and instruments harmonising together to create something beautiful (as is usual with radiohead songs). The first album I heard of the band actually, and it really hooked me in.

So good

From all the Radiohead albums I have listened, this is my favourite, and the one I've spent the most time listening to, since I already loved it when I discovered about two years ago. After their experimentation period between "Kid A" and "Hail to the Thief", the group decided to go back to a more pure art rock sound, delivering probably their most emotional and gorgeous sounding project. I should insist in the use of "probably" because I haven't listened to "A Moon Shaped Pool" yet, which is also regarded as an incredibly sentimental work by them. This record starts with "15 Steps", a rather uplifting track with a certain degree of complexity thanks to the uncommon rhythms, a trait that is repeated throughout the whole album. Then comes "Bodysnatchers" which has a very garage rock sounding guitars and riffs and keeps the energy from the previous track, and it is quite fun. Following is "Nude", and it is at this point that the album gets seriously intimate and melancholic. This song is incredible. It is a slow, smooth, entrancing and super delicate piece that sounds absolutely wonderful. However, it isn't as incredibly as "Weird Fishes / Arpeggi" is. The way that the song just keep getting more and more powerful with the progressive addition of layers of incredibly wonderful guitar melodies is just mesmerizing. Once it riches its climax, it slows down and starts over again, but now with a more serious tone and using other instruments and effects. If the previous track wasn't impressive enough, "All I Need" may have the most emotional part of the whole album. It starts very slow and mellow, but in the end, it suddenly explodes when the piano starts playing and the drum begins to use the crash cymbals, creating this spectacular and sentimental feeling which is only elevated thanks to Thom's passionate singing and the accompanying pretty bells. To calm a bit the waters, the song "Faust Arp" brightens the mood with its cute and more positive melodies. I think it could be considered a bit of a interlude, due to being the shortest track and the placement in the album between "All I Need" and "Reckoner", another spectacular moment with probably the most passionate and highest vocals. From here starts the final section: "House of Cards" is a very peaceful song that is followed by probably the most energetic piece, "Jigsaw Falling Into Place", with its very intricate and playful guitars and rhythms. Finally, the record ends with "Videotape", a very slow piano ballad that finishes the album in a very melancholic way. While I tried to explain why each song shines, a couple of things that are common to all of them are the impeccable production and how well textured they are. In short, an incredibly powerful and moving masterpiece with maybe some of the most gorgeous moments I've ever heard.

Moderne klassieker

Absolute cinema. Easily one of the greatest albums I have ever heard

божественно

Nude is the perfect dissociation song

I don’t know why I like this album so much. I just fucking do. I was trying really hard to get into Radiohead, and while Kid A was cool and OK Computer sounded fun, I just couldn’t get it. This was the first Radiohead album I heard and thought, “holy shit I get it”. Idk what songs like “All I Need”, and Jigsaws did to me but this unlocked my appreciation for the band.

Yes! Superb record. Syncopated awesomeness. Radiohead is an original. No other band really sounds like them. The music and lyrics are brilliant. I can get lost in this album… the memorizing rhythms on some of the tracks absolutely absorb the listener. Some beautiful moments in the back half too.

I love Radiohead

No. 127 Really loved this one. Love how well they can create an atmosphere with the vocals, lyrics and instrumentation.

This album has one of my favorite songs ever on it, video tape, but this whole thing again as always with Radiohead is a masterpiece. I talk about Jeff Rosenstock a lot here but shout out to him for them copying his pay what you want model for this record. I feel like I don’t need to gush about Radiohead again but I do love how quiet, pretty, falsetto, just dialed back a lot of this album is compared to the others. It really is a beautiful experience all the way through and is another shining example of yea they might be one of the best bands ever. Other faves other than Videotape include 15 steps, weird fishes, and jigsaw.

excelent!

Amazing album

God, I love this album. It’s a band that’s so happy and creative in each other’s company, but pushing themselves to new heights. This is the point I went from really liking Radiohead to them being in my all time top 5

It’s Radiohead - what’s not to like. Classic.

So good. Every bit.

My FAV ALBUM

Still iconic

Taman jer sam juče htela da se ubijem Salu na stranu, nisam neki ultra radiohead fan ali vraćam se ovom albumu s vremena na vreme tako da 4,5/5

Reading the Wiki page I was reminded that this album was released as a name your price download. 2007 must have been peak music pirating time with the likes of Napster around so this was Radiohead’s way of combatting that. I did download the album but cannot remember what I paid. As the download in those days would have been no better than crappy MP3 I have since bought the album legally on CD and sits proudly in my collection. Does not quite reach the heights of OK Computer but comes close. Not a bad song on the album at all. I’d even go as far to say that it is to my ears it’s Radiohead’s most accessible album with loads of melody at the forefront of each song. If you know Kid A and Amnesiac you’ll know what I mean. 5/5 26/2/26

Cut my wrists type shit I love it (kill me)

My new top album so far. 5 stars. Was this album better than yesterday’s album, Here’s Little Richard by Little Richard? Yes

I like it, and what it was

one of the finest

Incredible album

Almost perfect album

Thoughts before listening: While "Ok Computer" and "Kid A" seem to be the critics' consensus for best album, I see more and more fans choosing "In Rainbows". I certainly feel it ranks amongst their best and contains some of their most beloved songs. I have also always liked the story around the release of this album where fans could pay what they want to download from the band's website. Pretty innovative idea in the era of Napster and illegal downloads. Review: To me, this album bridges the gap between the electronic elements of Kid A and their earlier guitar based alt-rock sound. While there's no grungey "Creep" like song, a track like "Bodysnatchers" certainly has the energy and volume of the band's earlier work. "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi" is a totally different vibe, but it's another favorite on here with the churning guitar lines and ethereal background vocals slowly building to a crescendo. Great album deserving of 5-stars.

I remember when this album was self-released and everyone was talking about the "pay what you want" thing and how radical that was. I think only a band as big as Radiohead could have made that system work--then and now--but it was a real album of great songs and not just a gimmick.

Uno de mis favoritos, weirds fishes y nude y all i need están grabadas en mi corazón

This immaculate album is yet another showcase of Radiohead’s depth and versatility. Every member of the band is in their own world, and the combined sound paints a vulnerable palette of emotions and rhythms. Starting with the opener "15 Step" and ending with the haunting "Videotape", it is a cohesive work of art that truly leads the listener to interesting places. Coming back to this era of the band is always a pleasure for me. Each time, I discover something new, and I feel there are still more pieces of this puzzle that will eventually fall into place. One thing I took away from this listen was how the song "Reckoner" lays the groundwork for what would later become "The Smile". I love most of the songs on the record, but my three favorites have to be "Nude", "House of Cards", and "Jigsaw Falling into Place".

This was an amazing album to listen to. Love me some loser music. Although lyrically the album isn't as strong as some of radioheads other works the music more than made up for it.

one of my favorite albums. biggest musical inspiration i love radiohead. 😀

Fantastic album!

My favourite radiohead album. Such a timeless work of art that inspires me at every listen, I can't ever get tired of it, even if I listened to it every day till I die, I would find beauty in every song each time.

Yup this is a Fiver from me. I think probably my 2nd favorite Radiohead album overall. Shout-out to the time I was having about House of Cards a full 4 years after it came out as if it were some new single from King of Limbs because I'd never bothered listening to Radiohead yet

A flawless, breathtaking masterpiece. Many tracks literally moved me to tears, including ''All I Need' and the final three songs. Something in this album's atmosphere, lyrics and instrumentation touches at my soul and invites me to be more human.

😻😻

i can see why people think yorke and co. have their heads up their asses. mine just happens to be right in there with them.

They have really become incorporated into my life. 4.5 rounded up

This was an album that I was familiar with and had multiple songs in my playlist.

Great album - loved front to back

Can't ask for much more from an album. I've tried a few times over the years to get into Radiohead, and this was the first time that an album of theirs really stuck for me. I love the vocals and the experimental instrumentation. 9/10

Perfect. It came out when I was a freshman in college, therefore I’m trauma-bonded to it.

another one of my fav album of all time. i rlly like radiohead so like all of their albums is ofc one of my fav

9/10 I always imagine Radiohead as a band that sits around together and writes some fairly standard songs, before working out how to deconstruct, rearrange and pull them out of shape in as many different way as possible so that, while the core of that original song still exists within, they end up with something so unique to them that it stands apart from what that original kernel of song once was. As their career progressed, the extent to which they pulled at the threads of their songs became more extreme and, with influences from other musicians of every era, the production and structural dynamic of how they worked twisted even further from that ‘rock band’ core. You can hear how influenced they are by electronic music here, not just instrumentally, but structurally, often developing themes and building intensity outside of a more traditional verse/chorus/verse structure. It’s pretty apparent on tracks like 15 Step and Weird Fishes/Arpeggi, but they rarely settle themselves into a truly traditional basic structure, outside of a couple of tracks. While the signs for this had been developing since Kid A, this was really where that work cemented itself in its most coherent form within their sound. The result is a shifting, pulsing embrace of an album that takes ideas and weaves them together into delightful soundscapes that ebb and flow around Thom Yorke’s vocal performance. The production is at times crisp and at others gritty and grimy, with some really nice saturation used on a lot of the instrumentation that allows the vocal to sit with more clarity above it. But that blend of sounds allows everything to feel so natural and organic in a way that a crystal clear production wouldn’t. The songwriting is great and there’s obvious thought put into how to maintain freshness throughout a song, with different pieces of instrumentation pulling into and out of focus, a trick that also allows the more structurally static tracks to have more impact, juxtaposed against the more adventurous ones. There’s really good variety to the track list too, with driven, high tempo songs like Bodysnatchers and Jigsaw Falling Into Place and much more withdrawn efforts like Nude and All I Need. There was the odd moment here and there where I felt that they could have either moved things on a little more quickly, or let things ring out a little longer to allow things to have their maximum impact, but for the most part, this is an album of real quality where an envelope pushing band gather up all of the things they’ve learned over the previous 6 albums and create something that is both fresh and exciting, but also calls back to what came before. 15 Step - The crunchy, skittish 5/4 beat kicks us off in style. It’s hard to pin down the centre with Thom Yorke’s vocal drifting around without the rest of the instrumentation. It’s a great effect, and then it’s really pretty when the guitar comes in. The tone is nicely saturated and warm too. It all just builds so well, and then there are some really nice variations and production tricks that give it so much depth and range, always keeping your ear invested in what’s going on. Bodysnatchers - This has a great tempo and upbeat groove to it. Strip it back, and there’s a fairly straightforward (but very good) rock song under here, but the production and sound design elevate it to something beyond that. The lead guitar line that sits in a cloud of reverb is so lush, but there’s also so much grit and saturation to a lot of this too. It blends elements of grime and clarity really well. Nude - Now for a change of pace. The layering of forward and reversed elements here build a really beautiful and interesting soundscape that drifts away into the starkness of the vocal, drums and bass before we slowly build up again. Thom Yorke’s vocal could be a really bad fit for some bands, but with Radiohead it’s beautiful. There are some really gorgeous string arrangements here too. I love the build up that peaks at around 3 minutes and then we just have this drifting loveliness of tonality that guides to the end. Weird Fishes/Arpeggi - The interwoven arpeggiations that form the bed of this track are really nice, and it’s another that builds in weight and intensity as it goes. During the “weird fishes” section, the instrumentation reminds me a lot of Björk’s work with Matmos on Vespertine. It’s lovely. And there’s so much depth to the sound design in what follows, with different elements drifting in and out of prominence. It’s not ambient music in the slightest, but it has the same effect of rewarding a listener who just bathes in the sound and gets lost in the experience of listening. All I Need - There’s something so sombre about the combination of bass line and vocal here. The drums drive things along, but the tonality of the bass and the use of reverb on the vocal is so evocative, conjuring up the feelings of someone walking through the darkness, alone and depressed. Again, the soundscaping and instrumentation slowly builds, this time swamping the vocal, which is a great effect. It’s a really beautiful and haunting song. Side note: I’ve thought it in a few places thus far, but I do feel like they’re a little too quick with some editing of sections, like reverb tails and note releases. It happens inside songs too, but it’s most obvious at the end of songs like this. Let it ring! Faust Arp - They often have fun playing with either time signatures or at least the emphasis of where the down beat sits within their songs, and this is a fine example, never letting you completely relax into the beat until the second half. The different musical lines just weave around each other beautifully and there’s quite a lot going on, despite it sounding fairly simple to the casual observer. It’s a short one, but it’s really nice. Reckoner - The width of the beat here is great and it sounds so crisp and pretty. The shuffle to the groove is so nice too. Another with a slow build and eventually the beat recedes to allow space for the tonal work. The harmonisation from the vocals is great and the production and sequencing of the orchestration does such a fantastic job of pulling the focus into different areas so that no one thing dominates, but it guides you around the different motifs beautifully. House Of Cards - We’re into something much more traditionally structured now, but it’s still really lush. There’s a pulsing depth that sits under this that gives it a throbbing weight and tension to it. The other instrumental parts drift in and out and call a little to Sigur Rós with their tone. The range of different tones and sounds that they bring in give this forward momentum despite the underlying simplicity of the core song. It’s another that puts me in mind of ambient music from a listening point of view, rather than the inherent sound of the song. It’s just an all-encompassing and shimmering blend of sound. Jigsaw Falling Into Place - The tempo picks right up here and this is a really driven and danceable track. There’s a bit of a call back to the sound and composition of late 90s britpop underneath the song here, but as it’s Radiohead, they’ve pulled at those threads and transformed it into an evolving, shifting spectacle that drags you along in its wake. There’s some really nice pieces of guitar work in there that could easily get lost in the background, but Radiohead are a band that always reward repeat listens, so it’s nice to have different parts to focus on as you spin back through the songs again and again. This one’s a bit less dynamically varied, but it’s just another great song. Videotape - Another stark production (although the bass is perhaps a tad high in the mix) that builds and builds. The off-kilter pulse to the percussion is great, with a J Dilla type lilt to it. The sound bed of layered vocals is an excellent piece of production. In the same way that it builds, it also falls away gradually into nothing. It doesn’t quite have the same depth of soundscape building as some of the other stuff, but with the offset in rhythm between the beat and tonal elements, it has this tense, unsettling feel to it that doesn’t let the more pretty elements dominate.

100% perfection. Radiohead's most brilliant record to date.
