Boring. And way too long. I suffered.
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage.
Yay, Turbonegro! Really good album from. First track, the age of pamparius, is sucking you into the next 54 mins. Probably their best album. I was surprised to find it on the list but it quite makes sense.
I have no idea what they are singing about but I loved this already years ago... Great album

Love the Foo Fighters. Good Album!
Didn't know all of the songs. Not a fan of all of them but nice compilation.
Never really listened to the Velvet Underground. Like the album and how calm it is. A bit psychedelic at the end, alltogether a good start to explore more albums of them.
I like the style. Only knew a few songs so far.
Great album. Love her voice and the way she sings.
Usually not my genre but this is a good album. I remember the hit singles which I might have heard a bit too often back then and was surprised that for me there wasn't a song on it where I felt the need to skip.
If you love their hits you'll love this album.
To me personally this album came as a nice surprise. I knew „Son of a preacherman“, but that’s about it. While listening I recognized one song of the album, so basically all songs were pretty new to me. She has a great voice and there’s some nice variety between songs regarding style and mood. Good album!
Somehow I’ve never heard of Bert Jansch before. Quite interesting album, before even reading more about him I thought „sounds a bit like Donovan“ whom he influenced, according to Wikipedia. I understand why it is on the list and am happy to have discovered this artist!
I knew one hit of her, but this is surprisingly good. Basically every song from the beginning to the end. She does have a great voice; it’s worth listening to more than once.
Good album by Beck!
James Brown. Sex Machine. Did not know many songs besides that one, and even though that one is a hit, it never occured to me to listen to an entire album of him. After listening to it and reading a bit about it, it seems this live album is a good place to start. You can hear and feel that he was a great musician and - nice touch since it’s a live album - that the audience was exctatic about it which adds to the atmosphere.
It's probably just not my type of music and unfair but I find this pretty boring.
„Oh no, not ABBA, I can’t listen to that, heard them so many times on the radio“ where my thoughts. I never listened to an album by them and was positively surprised after hearing it. I’m not gonna listen to it again probably, but from the first song on it just is good, easy-to-listen-to pop music. And I was surprised that I knew half the songs without having listened to that album before, just a sign of how famous and often played they are.
This was surprisingly great. I only knew one song and didn't even know the band really, but I liked it very much from the beginning to the end.
Interesting. Did not know them before - after listening to this album I think I know why. It just isn’t my kind of music. The beginning was quite interesting (oh, live; oh, do I hear an organ?) but it then turned out to be just too experimental and „noisy“ for me. I found it in party extremely exhausting to listen to. This might be unfair, it might have been groundbreaking at the time, but I don’t really like it. I read a bit about the band and am always happy to listen to things I usually would not listen to, so I do not regret it, but this album was the hardest to fully listen to so far for me.
Two songs I knew before, didn't know the artist though. It is a good album alltogether and I enjoyed listening to it. Some of the songs might as well be part of a Tarantino Soundtrack :)
Yay, Turbonegro! Really good album from. First track, the age of pamparius, is sucking you into the next 54 mins. Probably their best album. I was surprised to find it on the list but it quite makes sense.
Didn't know them. This was not bad but it didn't stick out at all, at least for me.
I am sure it is a great album, but it's just not my cup of tea.
Surprisingly good. I am not a fan, know some songs (how could I not) and have to say that I did not regret listening to a full album.
Okay. I really like "that's entertainment".
Nice, but nothing special.
Surprisingly good.
OK, easy to listen to, but I don't really understand why it is on this list.
I just am not the biggest fan of his voice. In some songs it works for me, in others not so much. One day after listening to this there's nothing special about this album that I can remember.
Didn't know them. Great album. I really like this old school rap that isn't just about cars, drugs, hoes and Gucci.
Not my favorite album by RHCP but still... Some awesome songs on it.
Surprisingly good!
Good Album. Reminds me of The Distillers. Somehow never listened to Hole before but I like the style and Courtney Loves Voice here.
Love all their albums.
For an album on this list a bit too boring for me, sorry!
Not bad but not really my taste
Wow. This was a tough one to listen through. 2 hours of a genre that I do not really like. But: I tried! I sat through it. Don't judge it by its shitty cover I said to myself. But it didn't catch me at all. I found it rather boring and uninspired. Plus, extra annoying, the unnecessary long tracks. It actually did feel like torture after a while. At least parts of it could be played in an elevator, which is not a compliment. Might be important for the genre but it just isn't good in my opinion, sorry.
BUDDY HOLLY!
Never heard this before and it for sure has some great songs on it.
Didn't expect this on here. Nice!
Sometimes I am surprised by the fact how old some songs already are. Not exactly my style here but it is a good album.
Liked it back then, still like it.
While a few songs are bangers I remembered that even back then I only listened to those. Whole album, nah.
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage.
Well... Dunno. Beats, style, all good. But skits and lyrics, not my thing. So since I am not an OG I only give 3/5.
Hmmmmmm some great songs, some did not click. Might have to listen again. Great artist in general.
Don't really understand why this is on the list. It is not bad, but... Mainly boring.
Never heard of this. Interesting find. Liked it.
Didn't know him, liked this a lot.
What was that
Cool. Fun half an hour.
Nice music but why is it on the list?
I'm looking out my back door and I say: Hell yeah.
Might have been groundbreaking but is a bit boring.
Awesome. Something different, I like it.
12 Minute long first song here I come... Good vibes but not entirely great until the end I'd say. But difficult to rate. A song like walk on by is just crazy. Especially when knowing it is from 1969.
This is a really good album. Completely unknown to me but I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end.
I understand that this is a great record for it's genre and maybe music in general... But it partially gets a bit annoying while listening to it.
Some great songs. Unfortunately I cannot seperate the music from the musician here... And I do not like him as a person.
Listened to some of these songs a lot back then. Great album.
Solid Air is a Solid Record
Not as great as I thought it was. Still good though. Somehow only ever listened to the albums that followed.
Hmmm.
I give it 3/5 but it feels like some of the lyrics are outdated and... sad, in retrospective.
Great from the first to the last song.
Liked it back then, now... It's okay!
Great, sadly last, album.
Love this album
Never listened to a whole album of them and was pleasantly surprised.
Discovered something new. Nice!
I was positively surprised.
Cool. Only knew 2 songs before but this is quite good.
No. Bitch here, Bitch there. Killed my vibe ;)
Very hard to rate. It's just not really my music.
The only word that really comes to mind while I listened to this: boring. Not bad, but boring.
I have no idea what they are singing about but I loved this already years ago... Great album
Listened to it twice. Some good songs but alltogether it's just a 3 for me.
Of course I knew the first song. Test of the album felt quite different, I liked it!
Quite nice and surprisingly short.
Pleasant surprise, will listen to more of him.
Interesteting Album. Not my favorite but for sure not as bad as some reviews say. It was something different and I enjoyed listening to it... Even with the circus theme 😁
Good album! Only knew one song. Not interesting /good enough for me to be on this list but enjoyed listening to it.
Usually like this kind of music but found this quite boring, sorry.
Hmm not bad but would not listen again.
Album cover and title are really the worst. The album itself I kind of liked. Didn't know The Fall before so it was an interesting discovery.
Boring.
Great album.
Some good tracks, some parts for me hard to listen to.
I was not ready for this. Parts of it are just too exhausting to listen to.
Too bad it's not on Spotify. I would listen to this more often, really interesting music.
Nothing special but still good
METAL!
Fantastic.
Wanted to give it 2/5 at first but got into it after a while. I needed the right setting for this though (walk just after it rained after after a long workday).
It's quite all right but I do not understand why it is on this list.
Changes between good and... Noise
It good be good but it is too repetitive and noisy
Except for 2-3 songs... Boring
Didn't know them and am happy about this find. Great album.
It might be groundbreaking for the time but I found it quite annoying, sorry.
I don't know why people have a problem with the fact that it is a concept album. I was positively surprised and thought it sounded quite timeless. Don't know if it should be on this list though.
Didn't find it that bad but I cannot justify 3/5 compared to other ratings I gave. Not sure if it should be on the list.
Is this an album or an EP?
Quite interesting. Nothing I'd actively put on so nice that I got to listen to it. .
I usually do not listen to Madonna but thought that this might be a good album since Like a Prayer no doubt is a great song. I was however not too excited about it, so I’ll give it 3/5.
Around the World this album could Easily Get On Top of many people’s lists. Even in a Parallel Universe or the Otherside it is considered to be awesome not only when Road Trippin’! Right on Time another 5/5 on the 1001 list.
Hm. It is alright. Didn't know Rufus Wainwright and thought throughout the entire album that it sounded exactly like anything by Ron Sexsmith.
Awesome stuff. Didn't know them before, great album so I instantly listened to it twice.
It switches between not bad and a bit exhausting to listen to.
Better than expected.
Two great songs but I did not really like the rest of the album.
This just is a great album, from the first to the last track.
Easiest 5/5 so far.
Might have given it 3/5 but ended up with 4/5. Average rating is not fair IMHO. I liked it and am happy that this found it's way on the list. There is more out there than just musicians from the UK, some other European countries and the USA ;)
This showed up one day before me going to the Power Up Tour 2024 concert in Hannover. Nice coincidence!
Hm
If you don't like this album, well... then Maybe you're just like my mother She's never satisfied
This was some crazy stuff. I kind of liked it but it's just a bit too long.
„Right Here, Right Now“, „The Rockafeller Skank“ and „Praise You“ are great songs. I did not enjoy the rest of the album that much. Too repetitive and sometimes even annoying, and what the hell is the idea behind the lyrics of „Fucking in Heaven“? Sounds like a child just learned a new word it’s not supposed to say.
Quite interesting sometimes. Never heard of them and yet I knew their song Joan of Arc from the radio.
Got two Happy Monday albums in a row and hope the second was the last one. It's not bad, but I don't know what they are doing on this list.
Sorry but most parts are just quite annoying.
Wild. Didn't know this band and I think this is quite entertaining and even amusing. Might have to do with the fact that I understand the lyrics - in German, sung with accent by a Slovenian. I'll give it 3/5.
To me the best album by Muse. Didn't like the ones after that that much anymore but this one... Well, this one hasgood song after the other.
Money for nothing, 5/5 for free
Better than expected!
I did not know Robert Wyatt, I saw the album cover and thought: this might be something great. Oh boy was I wrong.
Oh no. Is it, pun intended, Justified that this one is on the list? I don't think so. This is pure torture and was one of the hardest to go through with so far. Oof. 2/5 only because of Cry me a River and Rock your Body which are great pop songs imho.
I am not am fan and don't understand the hype but have to admit that this is a good album.
I am sure it is great...but very exhausting to listen to
Underwhelming
Listened to this as a teenager. I remember that even back then I did not like some of the songs and did not like the skits. Still do not like the skits and the lyrics are... Well, typcial for the genre but questionable. I'll give it 3/5 because of the classic The Real Slim Shady, Stan and The Way I am.
Annoying noise
I don't think this is a good album, sorry. 2 stars because of tainted love.
Boring
Did not really enjoy this except for the classic "Nuthin but a G Thang". I don't think it aged well.
Music to fall asleep to. Also perfect for elevators.
I listened to Eminem when I was a teenager... I still like his voice and flow, and some songs are still fun. But then again there are so many questionable lyrics, I cannot ignore that when rating this album. Especially '97 Bonnie & Clyde - who likes to listen to this sick shit? What was the point of it? You hate your ex wife, we get it. Times were different back then, sure. But even then there was no need to be homophobic, mysogen or to glorify violence. 3/5 is therefore the max I can give.
It is kind of nice but also kind of boring.
This is one of these albums that is quite hard to rate. I'll be honest, to me this sounds like background-music, nothing someone active listens to. I am not the biggest fan of electronic music but don't dislike it, at the same time I couldn't tell if this is good, groundbreaking for the genre or whatever. I didn't dislike it but would not listen to it again.
I liked it better than expected. Too long though ;)
Boring. And way too long. I suffered.
Meh
Only great songs.
Usually not my kind of music and also this is way too long. I have to admit that it is quite good though.
Surprisingly boring.
I liked this way more than expected.
It is... Interesting.
Why is this on the list.
I like some of the songs but for me it's not really an album for this list.
I do occasionally listen to rap and gave this a fair chance, knowing its reputation. Over in-ear headphones, it felt overwhelming and almost stressful to me – Kendrick’s vocal delivery just didn’t connect. But after re-listening to key tracks on speakers, the production really opened up and I could appreciate the musical depth more. Still, the skits and spoken word parts pulled me out repeatedly. In the end, it’s not really my kind of album, but I can respect the ambition. 3 out of 5.
I really like this record. Too bad Morrissey just seems to be an angry, hateful old man nowadays.
Surprisingly pleasant, except for the Outro. I thank MySpace!
Incredibly good.
RIP, Ozzy.
Much better than expected.
I wanted to rate this 3/5, liked it when it first came out and still like the style. I think it is quite unique - in a good way. I'm adding one star on top for all the haters that rated it with 1/5 🙂
Some drugs must have been involved in this... It is quite interesting but a bit exhausting after a while.
It's just too boring. Except for Karma Chamäleon, obviously.
I don' understand the hate.
Meh
I really didn't know how to rate this.
It's not my music at all but it was okay as background music.
I was pleasently surprised. Might have to do with the fact that it is perfect background music while working.
Interesting.
How much of Brian Eno is on this list? Ugh. Well, this was kind of nice but also kind of... Boring.
A bit too much of mansplaining ;) quite interesting though.
Also great album Cover
Loved it back then and still really enjoy it. Perfect album.
It felt like a perfect album in its genre. I enjoyed this a lot.
Great production. Wanted to go with 3 first but 4 it is.
THIN LIZZY!!!!11
Nah
This did not catch me at all.
I enjoyed this way more than expected after reading some reviews.
Strong first half, weaker second half. Not my kind of music but I understand why it is on the list.
the more I listen to this, the better it gets. First impression was 3/5, second listen was 4/5, but I'll go with a 5/5 now.
Meh.
Sorry but
Quite difficult to rate. It is a very interesting concept but maybe a bit too much after all.
I never knew that there is one U2 album containing so many of their hits. Great songs, I have to give this 5/5.
Well... I cannot seperate the artist from his actions. Read about that after I had listened to most of the album already. Otherwise I would have thought about listening to it at all. He won't receive much from my stream but do I want to stream music of such a plesasnt person? Not really. The music itself: Hard to rate for me, might have ended up with 3/5 but do not want to give it a second listen.
Sorry, but this is pretty boring.
Great Album.
Some weird shit
Really enjoyed this.
Easiest 5/5 so far. One of the best albums of all time.
And for the man who would be king I will say only one thing
This is awesome and makes me wonder which other great albums could be on this list instead of all the other boring English ones...
Nah, not convinced.
How come I never heard of this Band until today? Great Album.
Interesting how many people dislike this. I thought it was quite good!
Would have given it 4 stars because I did not know this and was very surprised by it in a good way. I find the average rating to be too low so I'll add an extra star. For sure will listen to this again.
Didn't know them, really good album.
This is a fucking great record.
This one is exhausting to listen to.
Hard to rate. I wanted to give this less stars but found it somewhat entertaining.
Some songs could be straight out of an 80s sitcom.
quarter an hour of power
Why did I not know about this earlier?Awesome.
Second Kate Bush in a row. I liked The Dreaming a bit better.
Difficult to rate. It obviously is very experimental, sometimes just noise. I am German so at least I understand what they're... yelling. Did it influence other bands? Anyway. Nothing I would listen to again.
Never heard of this Band. Usually not my type of music but enjoyed this quite a bit.
