Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
The Smashing PumpkinsDespite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage.
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage.
Love the Foo Fighters. Good Album!
Didn't know all of the songs. Not a fan of all of them but nice compilation.
Never really listened to the Velvet Underground. Like the album and how calm it is. A bit psychedelic at the end, alltogether a good start to explore more albums of them.
I like the style. Only knew a few songs so far.
Great album. Love her voice and the way she sings.
Usually not my genre but this is a good album. I remember the hit singles which I might have heard a bit too often back then and was surprised that for me there wasn't a song on it where I felt the need to skip.
If you love their hits you'll love this album.
To me personally this album came as a nice surprise. I knew „Son of a preacherman“, but that’s about it. While listening I recognized one song of the album, so basically all songs were pretty new to me. She has a great voice and there’s some nice variety between songs regarding style and mood. Good album!
Somehow I’ve never heard of Bert Jansch before. Quite interesting album, before even reading more about him I thought „sounds a bit like Donovan“ whom he influenced, according to Wikipedia. I understand why it is on the list and am happy to have discovered this artist!
I knew one hit of her, but this is surprisingly good. Basically every song from the beginning to the end. She does have a great voice; it’s worth listening to more than once.
Good album by Beck!
James Brown. Sex Machine. Did not know many songs besides that one, and even though that one is a hit, it never occured to me to listen to an entire album of him. After listening to it and reading a bit about it, it seems this live album is a good place to start. You can hear and feel that he was a great musician and - nice touch since it’s a live album - that the audience was exctatic about it which adds to the atmosphere.
It's probably just not my type of music and unfair but I find this pretty boring.
„Oh no, not ABBA, I can’t listen to that, heard them so many times on the radio“ where my thoughts. I never listened to an album by them and was positively surprised after hearing it. I’m not gonna listen to it again probably, but from the first song on it just is good, easy-to-listen-to pop music. And I was surprised that I knew half the songs without having listened to that album before, just a sign of how famous and often played they are.
This was surprisingly great. I only knew one song and didn't even know the band really, but I liked it very much from the beginning to the end.
Interesting. Did not know them before - after listening to this album I think I know why. It just isn’t my kind of music. The beginning was quite interesting (oh, live; oh, do I hear an organ?) but it then turned out to be just too experimental and „noisy“ for me. I found it in party extremely exhausting to listen to. This might be unfair, it might have been groundbreaking at the time, but I don’t really like it. I read a bit about the band and am always happy to listen to things I usually would not listen to, so I do not regret it, but this album was the hardest to fully listen to so far for me.
Two songs I knew before, didn't know the artist though. It is a good album alltogether and I enjoyed listening to it. Some of the songs might as well be part of a Tarantino Soundtrack :)
Yay, Turbonegro! Really good album from. First track, the age of pamparius, is sucking you into the next 54 mins. Probably their best album. I was surprised to find it on the list but it quite makes sense.
Didn't know them. This was not bad but it didn't stick out at all, at least for me.
I am sure it is a great album, but it's just not my cup of tea.
Surprisingly good. I am not a fan, know some songs (how could I not) and have to say that I did not regret listening to a full album.
Okay. I really like "that's entertainment".
Nice, but nothing special.
Surprisingly good.
OK, easy to listen to, but I don't really understand why it is on this list.
I just am not the biggest fan of his voice. In some songs it works for me, in others not so much. One day after listening to this there's nothing special about this album that I can remember.
Didn't know them. Great album. I really like this old school rap that isn't just about cars, drugs, hoes and Gucci.
Not my favorite album by RHCP but still... Some awesome songs on it.
Surprisingly good!
Good Album. Reminds me of The Distillers. Somehow never listened to Hole before but I like the style and Courtney Loves Voice here.
Love all their albums.
For an album on this list a bit too boring for me, sorry!
Not bad but not really my taste
Wow. This was a tough one to listen through. 2 hours of a genre that I do not really like. But: I tried! I sat through it. Don't judge it by its shitty cover I said to myself. But it didn't catch me at all. I found it rather boring and uninspired. Plus, extra annoying, the unnecessary long tracks. It actually did feel like torture after a while. At least parts of it could be played in an elevator, which is not a compliment. Might be important for the genre but it just isn't good in my opinion, sorry.
BUDDY HOLLY!
Never heard this before and it for sure has some great songs on it.
Didn't expect this on here. Nice!
Sometimes I am surprised by the fact how old some songs already are. Not exactly my style here but it is a good album.
Liked it back then, still like it.
While a few songs are bangers I remembered that even back then I only listened to those. Whole album, nah.
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage.
Well... Dunno. Beats, style, all good. But skits and lyrics, not my thing. So since I am not an OG I only give 3/5.
Hmmmmmm some great songs, some did not click. Might have to listen again. Great artist in general.
Don't really understand why this is on the list. It is not bad, but... Mainly boring.
Never heard of this. Interesting find. Liked it.
Didn't know him, liked this a lot.
What was that
Cool. Fun half an hour.
Nice music but why is it on the list?
I'm looking out my back door and I say: Hell yeah.
Might have been groundbreaking but is a bit boring.
Awesome. Something different, I like it.
12 Minute long first song here I come... Good vibes but not entirely great until the end I'd say. But difficult to rate. A song like walk on by is just crazy. Especially when knowing it is from 1969.
This is a really good album. Completely unknown to me but I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end.
I understand that this is a great record for it's genre and maybe music in general... But it partially gets a bit annoying while listening to it.
Some great songs. Unfortunately I cannot seperate the music from the musician here... And I do not like him as a person.
Listened to some of these songs a lot back then. Great album.
Solid Air is a Solid Record
Not as great as I thought it was. Still good though. Somehow only ever listened to the albums that followed.
Hmmm.
I give it 3/5 but it feels like some of the lyrics are outdated and... sad, in retrospective.
Great from the first to the last song.
Liked it back then, now... It's okay!
Great, sadly last, album.
Love this album
Never listened to a whole album of them and was pleasantly surprised.
Discovered something new. Nice!
I was positively surprised.
Cool. Only knew 2 songs before but this is quite good.
No. Bitch here, Bitch there. Killed my vibe ;)
Very hard to rate. It's just not really my music.
The only word that really comes to mind while I listened to this: boring. Not bad, but boring.
I have no idea what they are singing about but I loved this already years ago... Great album
Listened to it twice. Some good songs but alltogether it's just a 3 for me.
Of course I knew the first song. Test of the album felt quite different, I liked it!
Quite nice and surprisingly short.
Pleasant surprise, will listen to more of him.
Interesteting Album. Not my favorite but for sure not as bad as some reviews say. It was something different and I enjoyed listening to it... Even with the circus theme 😁
