Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage.

Turbonegro
5/5
Yay, Turbonegro! Really good album from. First track, the age of pamparius, is sucking you into the next 54 mins. Probably their best album. I was surprised to find it on the list but it quite makes sense.

Sigur Rós

I have no idea what they are singing about but I loved this already years ago... Great album

Foo Fighters
4/5
Love the Foo Fighters. Good Album!
Various Artists
3/5
Didn't know all of the songs. Not a fan of all of them but nice compilation.
The Velvet Underground
3/5
Never really listened to the Velvet Underground. Like the album and how calm it is. A bit psychedelic at the end, alltogether a good start to explore more albums of them.
Talking Heads
3/5
I like the style. Only knew a few songs so far.
5/5
Great album. Love her voice and the way she sings.
Justice
4/5
Usually not my genre but this is a good album. I remember the hit singles which I might have heard a bit too often back then and was surprised that for me there wasn't a song on it where I felt the need to skip.
ZZ Top
4/5
If you love their hits you'll love this album.
Dusty Springfield
4/5
To me personally this album came as a nice surprise. I knew „Son of a preacherman“, but that’s about it. While listening I recognized one song of the album, so basically all songs were pretty new to me. She has a great voice and there’s some nice variety between songs regarding style and mood. Good album!
Bert Jansch
4/5
Somehow I’ve never heard of Bert Jansch before. Quite interesting album, before even reading more about him I thought „sounds a bit like Donovan“ whom he influenced, according to Wikipedia. I understand why it is on the list and am happy to have discovered this artist!
Lorde
4/5
I knew one hit of her, but this is surprisingly good. Basically every song from the beginning to the end. She does have a great voice; it’s worth listening to more than once.
Beck
4/5
Good album by Beck!
James Brown
4/5
James Brown. Sex Machine. Did not know many songs besides that one, and even though that one is a hit, it never occured to me to listen to an entire album of him. After listening to it and reading a bit about it, it seems this live album is a good place to start. You can hear and feel that he was a great musician and - nice touch since it’s a live album - that the audience was exctatic about it which adds to the atmosphere.
Erykah Badu
2/5
It's probably just not my type of music and unfair but I find this pretty boring.
ABBA
4/5
„Oh no, not ABBA, I can’t listen to that, heard them so many times on the radio“ where my thoughts. I never listened to an album by them and was positively surprised after hearing it. I’m not gonna listen to it again probably, but from the first song on it just is good, easy-to-listen-to pop music. And I was surprised that I knew half the songs without having listened to that album before, just a sign of how famous and often played they are.
Talking Heads
4/5
Rush
4/5
T. Rex
5/5
This was surprisingly great. I only knew one song and didn't even know the band really, but I liked it very much from the beginning to the end.
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
2/5
Interesting. Did not know them before - after listening to this album I think I know why. It just isn’t my kind of music. The beginning was quite interesting (oh, live; oh, do I hear an organ?) but it then turned out to be just too experimental and „noisy“ for me. I found it in party extremely exhausting to listen to. This might be unfair, it might have been groundbreaking at the time, but I don’t really like it. I read a bit about the band and am always happy to listen to things I usually would not listen to, so I do not regret it, but this album was the hardest to fully listen to so far for me.
Sister Sledge
4/5
Two songs I knew before, didn't know the artist though. It is a good album alltogether and I enjoyed listening to it. Some of the songs might as well be part of a Tarantino Soundtrack :)
Turbonegro
5/5
Yay, Turbonegro! Really good album from. First track, the age of pamparius, is sucking you into the next 54 mins. Probably their best album. I was surprised to find it on the list but it quite makes sense.
2/5
Didn't know them. This was not bad but it didn't stick out at all, at least for me.
Miles Davis
3/5
I am sure it is a great album, but it's just not my cup of tea.
Guns N' Roses
3/5
Surprisingly good. I am not a fan, know some songs (how could I not) and have to say that I did not regret listening to a full album.
The Jam
3/5
Okay. I really like "that's entertainment".
Moby Grape
3/5
Nice, but nothing special.
The Rolling Stones
3/5
Cee Lo Green
3/5
Surprisingly good.
Everything But The Girl
2/5
OK, easy to listen to, but I don't really understand why it is on this list.
Rod Stewart
2/5
I just am not the biggest fan of his voice. In some songs it works for me, in others not so much. One day after listening to this there's nothing special about this album that I can remember.
Lauryn Hill

Wow. This was a tough one to listen through. 2 hours of a genre that I do not really like. But: I tried! I sat through it. Don't judge it by its shitty cover I said to myself. But it didn't catch me at all. I found it rather boring and uninspired. Plus, extra annoying, the unnecessary long tracks. It actually did feel like torture after a while. At least parts of it could be played in an elevator, which is not a compliment. Might be important for the genre but it just isn't good in my opinion, sorry.

12 Minute long first song here I come... Good vibes but not entirely great until the end I'd say. But difficult to rate. A song like walk on by is just crazy. Especially when knowing it is from 1969.
Grant Lee Buffalo
4/5
This is a really good album. Completely unknown to me but I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end.
Miles Davis
3/5
I understand that this is a great record for it's genre and maybe music in general... But it partially gets a bit annoying while listening to it.

„Right Here, Right Now“, „The Rockafeller Skank“ and „Praise You“ are great songs. I did not enjoy the rest of the album that much. I listened to Eminem when I was a teenager... I still like his voice and flow, and some songs are still fun. But then again there are so many questionable lyrics, I cannot ignore that when rating this album. Especially '97 Bonnie & Clyde - who likes to listen to this sick shit? What was the point of it? You hate your ex wife, we get it. Times were different back then, sure. But even then there was no need to be homophobic, mysogen or to glorify violence. 3/5 is therefore the max I can give.

This is one of these albums that is quite hard to rate. I'll be honest, to me this sounds like background-music, nothing someone active listens to. I am not the biggest fan of electronic music but don't dislike it, at the same time I couldn't tell if this is good, groundbreaking for the genre or whatever. I didn't dislike it but would not listen to it again.

I do occasionally listen to rap and gave this a fair chance, knowing its reputation. Over in-ear headphones, it felt overwhelming and almost stressful to me – Kendrick’s vocal delivery just didn’t connect.
But after re-listening to key tracks on speakers, the production really opened up and I could appreciate the musical depth more. Still, the skits and spoken word parts pulled me out repeatedly.
In the end, it’s not really my kind of album, but I can respect the ambition. 3 out of 5.

Well... I cannot seperate the artist from his actions. Read about that after I had listened to most of the album already. Otherwise I would have thought about listening to it at all. He won't receive much from my stream but do I want to stream music of such a plesasnt person? Not really. The music itself: Hard to rate for me, might have ended up with 3/5 but do not want to give it a second listen.
