Life Thru A Lens
Robbie Williamsmediocre british monkey man
mediocre british monkey man
This is not my first time listening to this album. This will not be my last time, either. Nirvana is one of my favorite bands, therefore, this review will be in their favor. Let me just start off by saying that this album is amazing. Although all the songs are live recordings, that doesn't damage their value. If anything, it makes them better. You can hear the raw emotion in Kurt's voice. Every imperfection is dazzling. In this album, there is a variety of songs. Some are from Bleach, In Utero, and Nevermind, while others aren't even Nirvana original songs. These covers are what make the album, especially The Man Who Sold The World and Where Did You Sleep Last Night. They are very powerful to listen to. This album is truly an essential listen. 5/5
Isn't as good as their other one.
i love this album i wish british people were real
I grew up listening to Bowie because of my parents, except mostly his later material. It took me forever to discover there was a world outside of 80s Bowie. I felt betrayed when I realized his 70s material was even better 😭. To be serious though, this album is perfect. Every song is wonderful and beautiful and this world wouldn't be the same without our beloved Ziggy Stardust. RIP Starman, we miss you. Favorite Tracks: Hang on to Yourself, Suffragette City, Starman Oh, also fun fact, I named my plant Ziggy after this album.
Down to the Waterline- in the words of Eva, this is a bop. The mix of the guitars and percussion makes the song have a funky little beat. This is a good open to the album. Water of Love- the slow essence of the song and the layered singing adds an unfamiliar tone to the song. There's not much more to say about the song. It's mediocre. Setting Me Up- the layering of the guitars adds a funky vibe to the song. It is somewhere inbetween a bop and being mediocre. The singing does nothing for me, the instruments are what carries the song. Six Blade Knife- this is a slower song that doesn't rely too heavily on the instruments. Unfortunately, that leaves us to rely on the vocals, which adds whispers and groans to the song. This is a mediocre song. Southbound Again- the funky guitar adds a nice vibe to the song. This would probably go in Eva's book as a bop, though, a lower sided bop. Sultans of Swing- an iconic song, it reminds me of riding down the highway. Although objectively, this is the best song off the album, it is not my favorite. This is not me saying the song isn't good, though. It is. In the Gallery- this is once again a mediocre song. Not even the instruments can carry this one. However, it's not bad. It's just not good. It carries on for too long. Wild West End- the acoustic guitar and the slow vibe adds a calming effect to the song. It's a cute sounding song. This track has the best lyrics of the entire album. It isn't a bop and it isn't mediocre. It has its own category from the rest of the songs off the album because it's not like the other songs. Lions- this calm song is once again neither a bop nor mediocre. It's just plain good. The song is brought justice by the vocals. It isn't like the other songs off the album. It is most similar to Wild West End. Overall- the use of the funky sounding guitar is what carries this album. It adds a vibe that reminds me of the sound of the 70s. Although the vocals are different, they feel revolutionary and unique. This album was overall pretty good. It's not exactly my taste, but I can agree that this is objectively good. 3/5.
Shout- I've never really been a fan of this song, however, it is nostalgic. It's not a bad song, it's just not that great. I'll just go with this is a good song. It reminds me of being an angsty teen and wanting to scream into my pillow. The Working Hour- the saxophone is scaring me. I have come to the conclusion that I do not like the saxophone. This is a dramatic bittersweet song. It seems pretty mediocre, but it's not bad. Everbody Wants To Rule The World- this is such an iconic and nostalgic song. I can't even say anything bad about it. This is a good, upbeat song. I feel empowered listening to this. Mothers Talk- this is a catchy, heavy, and nostalgic song. It sounds upbeat, yet when you listen to the lyrics, it doesn't seem so happy anymore. This is a good song. I Believe- this is a slow and haunting song. This is also a mediocre song. It starts off slow and it ends slow. The saxophone is not helping, either. This is my least favorite track off the album. Broken- by itself, it is still a good song. It is catchy. It feels weird listening to it, though, because it is the final part of Head Over Heels. Head Over Heels- this is a nostalgic song. The bass does it justice. Although I never really liked it as a kid, it is better than I remember it being. This is not the best track off of the album, however, it is still good. Listen- it starts off with a sweet melody. I feel like I'm in a movie listening to this, specifically Heathers. It doesn't have many words and instead relies on sound effects. I have mixed emotions for this song. Overall- this album is definetly worth the listen. It is easy to forget how good some of these songs are after you haven't heard them in a of couple years. It feels so nostalgic and it captures the sound of the 80s. 4/5
Cecilia Ann- this song actually makes me feel like I'm in an action movie. Rock Music- this song has the perfect title. I like the way Frank screams the lyrics. Velouria- I can't even decribe my feelings for this song. It makes me ascend. I love it so much. I think it can be agreed that this is the best song on the album. Allison- I also love this song. It is such a vibe. "I saw the face of Allison" is delivered perfectly. Is She Weird- this is such an amazing song. The bass is really what pulls this together. This feels like an ideal Pixies song. "Is she over me?" *chef's kiss* Ana- this song reminds me of wasting away in the sunlight. This is the first song I ever heard off of this album and I'll always love it. All Over the World- this song reminds me of the apocalypse and experiencing death. This is a great song. It feels so Pixies. Dig for Fire- I've never been a huge fan of this song. It doesn't feel like the Pixies. It feels to happy and upbeat. It's safe to say this is my least favorite track off the album. Down To The Well- this song is angsty. Once again, it was never one of my favorites. The Happening- this song also reminds me of the end of the world. I like to pair it with All Over the World. Blown Away- this song is so easy to forget sometimes. It didn't even do anything wrong. It sounds good, so why don't I treat it like it is? Hang Wire- this is a good angsty song. I feel like a villain listening to this. "That man is a liar" perfect. Stormy Weather- this is a pretty okay song. It's not one of my favorites off of the album. It is kind of a bop, though. Havalina- I also feel like wasting away to this song. I like to pair it with Ana. I like this song. It sparks some emotion that I literally can't describe. It's like the song is trying to say goodbye to the listeners. Overall- this is not my first time listening to the album. It's not even my fifth time. I love this album and I love the Pixies. Although this isn't their best or their most iconic album, it is still worth the listen. My favorite tracks are Velouria, Ana, Is She Weird, Allison, and Havalina. Although the second half does feel a little filler, the first half makes me want to ascend. 5/5
Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)- pretty good; nice beat and progression; worth a relisten Neighborhood #2 (Laika)- pretty good; not as good as #1, but pretty close Une Annee Sans Lumiere- sweet sounding; alright Neighborhood #3 (Power Out)- ish; little angsty Neighborhood #4 (Kettles)- ish; little to no progression Crown of Love- ish; basic Wake Up- ish; all these songs are starting to sound the same Haiti- ish; I can't take this much longer Rebellion (Lies)- pretty good; nice bass and beat In the Backseat- okay; little to no progression Overall- I had high hopes for this album. I was thoroughly disappointed. There were only a couple songs I liked, those being Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels), Neighborhood #2 (Laika), and Rebellion (Lies). The rest of the songs were a blur. After a while, they all started to sound the same and I became bored listening to this album. 2/5
Obviously, hip hop is not my thing. I learned this after listening to this album. I mean, all the songs sounded basic. Basic beat. Nothing else. I'm not doubting Eminem's talent, but Jesus Christ, is he vulgar. There was a whole song dedicated to murdering his at the time wife. I get that he's a chill guy in real life, but if I didn't know that, I'd hate his guts. I did not enjoy this album one bit. Actually, that's a lie. I like The Real Slim Shady, but that's it. 1/5
I'm in love with the first track. It feels like an indie movie. The rest of the songs are pretty to really good. I can't explain it, but all of these belong in a movie soundtrack. This album really surprised me. I've never heard of the Modern Lovers before. I don't know how. They're really good and they sound like they would've been revolutionary for their time. 4/5
I'm not going to say I hated it, I just didn't like it. It was so slow. There's no catch. It was slow and nothing else. There wasn't one song I liked. 1/5
This album wasn't bad. However, all the songs kind of sounded the same. And in every one, the singer sounded so angry at the world. Who hurt this man? 3/5
Pretty solid. Last track broke me. 4/5
I like Radiohead. This album gets bonus points for that. By itself, this album was pretty okay. It didn't feel very Radiohead. I guess they took a break and decided to go electronic for an album. I did like a couple songs, one being The National Anthem. 4/5
It was better than I expected. 3/5
Pretty okay. Loved it, hated it. Not much to say. 2/5
I wasn't very familiar with the Stone Roses before today. The instant I heard the first song start to play, I knew that I would love this album. It was catchy, danceable, and deep. I had high expectations for an indie rock album and my expectations were smashed. I loved this album. I'll have to listen to it again someday. 5/5
It wasn't bad. I didn't even hate it that much. It was just her high pitched singing and squealing and screeching. I couldn't take it after awhile. However, it did have funky little beats and I'm impressed by Kate's vocal range. 2/5
America rahhh 🦅🦅🇺🇸🇺🇸
whiny ass bitch
extremely mediocre 🥱
Sad excuse for music
This was surprisingly kind of fire 🔥
Basically the Beatles but better
Album review haiku: Neither good nor bad, Sitar became quite boring Won't hear it again
It's very easy to be intimidated by the long and zany titles, however, you'll have to push that aside in order to listen to this album. This was very fun to listen to because of the many references to my home state, Illinois. I came to this with high expectations and they were met. I found the most important thing about this album to be the lyrics, especially in the song Casimir Pulaski Day. They were very touching and well written. Overall, this was a good album.
Exactly what I expected it to sound like
As someone who does not enjoy hip hop, this was surprisingly good.
It was alright. I'm still a little upset it isn't available on Spotify. The Last Living Rose was my favorite. Damn Europeans.
Classic
How does this even make top 1001 albums ever? I could barely make it through this and it was trash.
pretty good ion know what else to say 😭👍
How can you not love a man named Van?
meh
This might've gotten 5 stars if they had decided on a different lead singer. Sheesh.
This album managed to "redeem" itself halfway through somehow. Am I the only one who heard a little Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars in this? Maybe even a little Pixies?
I might get disowned if I don't give this album a perfect rating.
Ahead of their time 👍
"Ya like jazz?" "No"
I thoroughly enjoyed this album. The second track is my favorite because I have known it for years. It is hauntingly beautiful as is the rest of the album. I never really considered that I like folk until today. I hope to relisten to this album someday.
Songs to listen to after your besties funeral? 😭😭 idk man that's just the vibe I'm gettin
YASSSSSS SLAY MORRISSEY 😍😍😍😍 (for the record I know he's racist, this album is good though)
I love The White Stripes. They are one of my favorite bands. I have previously listened to two of their other albums. Today was my first time listening to Get Behind Me Satan. Now, although it isn't their best, that doesn't mean that it isn't good. This album was really solid and entertaining. My favorite will always be Blue Orchid. Nothing can beat it.
groovy man
brotha eughhhh
Works as good background music. Other than that, there isn't much use.
I love The Cure so much, but lately I haven't been as interested in them. This album was the perfect medicine (or should I say cure 😉).
I'm white but damn
Very funky. Probably never going to listen to it again.
this album is fire- dumpster fire I mean
What is there to say about this album? I honestly don't know. It was good, not great, but also not mediocre. A solid 3. That's what's to say about this album.
I do not understand why this is considered folk. I think that Joni Mitchell is one of those artists who cannot be tied down to a genre because in all honestly, she is her own genre.
I got a Brian Eno album a few weeks back and I absolutely hated it. Seeing this album was horrifying. I thought I would hate. Now I didn't like it either, but it wasn't as god awful as the last one.
You guys are seriously underselling this album. It's not 'average', it's solid.
Spotify tried giving me the lyrics to Personal Jesus instead of the lyrics to Felicidade.
My guilty pleasure is gay pop
I feel like I need to give this album a good rating. It's not really my jam, but it was still good.
Although this probably doesn't deserve to be among the best 1001 or so best albums, I still liked it. It's very forgettable, but I remember liking it, and that's all that matters.
I don't speak French, but what I did understand from this album was the amount of times he said the name Melody. Serge's obsession with a 15 year old girl is not something I'm going to praise. That being said, I'm not going to praise this sub par album either. I wonder why Melody had to die in a plane crash and not this perv.
This is quite literally the most basic music I've ever heard. Do these people know that they have to put some thought into writing a song? This is a bad, bad album.
Classic. These are the kinds of albums I want.
God, these songs were long.
Doolittle is undoubtedly the greatest indie rock album of all time by one of the most influential bands, the Pixies. It is important to ask where modern music would be without them. In a world without the Pixies, there would be no Nirvana, Radiohead, Weezer, Pearl Jam, or countless other bands. To understand what makes a great album, you have to look to the cover first. The imagery of the monkey with a halo can be traced back to the seventh track, Monkey Gone to Heaven, representing the song’s title. Also in the song, the lyrics “if man is five, then the devil is six, and if the devil is six, then God is seven” can be heard. This is illustrated by the three large numbers that decorate the cover of Doolittle. A fourth smaller number can be found in the lower right corner. This can be traced back to the eleventh track, No 13 Baby. It is clear that by looking at the cover’s representative imagery, you are going to be dealing with a phenomenal album. The mixture of Frank Black's manic singing and Kim Deal's (who I like to consider the greatest female bassist of all time) ingenious bass lines are what really make up the album. The lyrics aren't shy to taboo topics like mutilation, Biblical stories, and death. Doolittle offers a nice array of moods, like the danceability of Debaser and the angst of Gouge Away. It's hard to listen to this album and not be addicted to it. Although they didn't last long, the Pixies have left their mark on music history and they will never be forgotten. All the tracks are exquisite, however, I have my favorites and least favorites. Favorites: Gouge Away, Debaser, Hey Least Favorites: Silver, Tame, Crackity Jones
Despite her beautiful voice, it feels as if I've already heard these songs, that how basic they are. They sound the same as all the other 80s soul songs. Favorite: Same Ole Love
This is such an iconic album that you just have to love it.
aw man they were definitely on drugs
oh yeah this is the shit
I can see why this is considered one of the greatest albums ever. It was really good. My favorite from this will always be When the Levee Breaks.
This was better than I expected it to be. It's a little scary seeing that you got an album you don't know from a band you've never heard of, and on top of it all, they're in drag. But like I said, it was rockin'. Favorite track: Trash
What the fuck. I almost cried after realizing that all the songs would sound the god damn same. There is absolutely no way to tell one track from the other. Also, who the hell told John Zorn that he should make music, let alone record an entire album? I hope that person's pillow has two warm sides. There is no actual rhythm to these songs. Every single one of them is a bunch of trumpets and drums and clarinets and saxophones put together and the deaf producer said, "There we go, that's music". I don't think I will ever understand why this album is in the top 1001 albums that I must listen to before I die. I would rather die than listen to this again.
I will never forgive Apple Music for calling this the best album ever.
Who actually wants to make a 20 minute song? Or listen to it?
The Talking Heads were a weird band but man, were they good.
Hell yes. I didn't actually expect to like this album as much as I did. I thought it was going to be another highly rated album that was just okay and probably didn't deserve as much attention as it got. This deserved all the attention. Rock on, Floyd. 🌈
These lyrics are hilariously bad. I hate her singing in Cracking and Neighborhood Girls. It's so.......................... what was I saying again?
Isn't as good as their other one.
I swear to God, if I get one more electronica album...
i love this album i wish british people were real
we're all wasted *insert sick fiddle solo*
“The Monkees weren't about music, Marge. They were about rebellion, about political and social upheaval!”
💀
Somebody get this man some scrambled eggs 🙏🙏
why would they put a My Bloody Valentine album twenty years after their prime on this list
No amount of drugs will ever get me to listen to this again
I knew I was in for it when I saw that album cover
The first couple of songs were really good and then it went downhill
The best thing that came out of this album was Heart Street Directions
I don't know much about the movie Super Fly, but I do know that Freddie's dead on the corner.
"Dad, nerds are nothing to fear. In fact, they've done some pretty memorable things. Some nerds of note include popcorn magnate Orville Redenbacher, rock star David Byrne and Supreme Court Justice David Souter." -Lisa Simpson
They sound like Fleetwood Mac before Fleetwood Mac was Fleetwood Mac
I was on the verge of hallucinations while listening to this
I was in the middle of a breakdown when goofy ahh song Coconut came on 😭😭🙏🙏
This made me want to go on my back porch to drink a beer and shoot some cans
It's official, Bono has lost all ability to write good lyrics
ye 😬👍
all british punk rock sounds the same. this entire album felt like one long song
Beach House is a band that is often remembered for their album Depression Cherry, however, there is always more to a band than it may seem. Teen Dream, their third album, is heavily overlooked. So relaxing, so dreamy, so hauntingly beautiful, yet so emotional. The songs flow into each other like honey. Each track is sweet with nostalgia and leaves a bitter after taste of longing for what you've lost. The first track, Zebra, reminds me of what it's like when life is moving all around you, yet you want to stay in the moment. There's nothing you can do but watch. Teen Dream deserves a spot in the top 1001 albums list and I'm glad it is here. An album this great is worth all the listens. Favorite song: Zebra
Good opening and then it kinda went down from there, but it's the Stones so it's good, right? Right?
Bob Dylan gives me the creeps and his music sucks
PJ Harvey is one of the most underrated rockers of all time
Not that it was bad but what are they doing on here 💀
Billy Corgan is a vampire and nothing will convince me otherwise
uhhhhhhhhhhh well that was a trip. I don't know if it was a good one, but it was definitely a trip.
this worked as good background music and was pretty unique but nah, this is not for me
A bit bland, however, it was short and therfore didn't have enough time to be able to get on my nerves.
lowkey kinda bland but I still think she's a good singer 🫶
I hate jazz but this was pretty good (for its genre)
One of the most mediocre albums yet
🎶 Oh Alison, I know this album is killing you 🎶
Two hours is too bloody long to be listening to George Harrison for 😭🙏
groovifying
Last year in English class, the kids had to do a presentation on their tragic hero. I never got the opportunity to do this, so I will treat this review as if it were my presentation. While other kids chose Kurt Cobain and Amy Winehouse, my tragic hero is Elliott Smith. Doomed since birth, his anguished childhood carried on through his adulthood until his untimely death. Although he is gone, this humble man will never be forgotten for his contributions to the indie-rock music community. Many people find comfort in his melancholy tunes and deep lyrics. One of those people is me. I found Elliott Smith a couple of years back. Although I can't say his music has saved my life or anything along those lines, I can say that his music has impacted me. His songs and albums have been with me through the best of times and the worst of times. It was easy to tell from the start that Elliott was a very talented individual. He was a musical genius and Figure 8 only proves this point further. If you are not familiar with his previous albums, then it is important to note that Figure 8 was a significant point in his career. It is his most Beatles-esque and rock album to date. It has a mix of many instruments, including piano, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and so on. From the solid start with Son Of Sam and through the rest of the album, you go on an adventure through a range of emotions until you end with the bittersweet Bye. Considering that the last track of the last album Elliott got to see the release of was called Bye, it can't help but make you wonder if that was Elliott's way of saying goodbye to all of his wonderful fans. I hope he's resting in peace now in his reverse New York, a heaven he could only dream of, where everything smells good and everyone is nice. The world will never be the same without his poor soul and he will never be forgotten as long as his devoted fans are around. And to my tragic hero, see you later if I see you at all. Favorite songs: Somebody That I Used To Know, Happiness/The Gondola Man, Son Of Sam, and L.A.
Although I never particularly enjoyed their music, I really respect The Go-Go's. They were a group of women in a male dominated industry. And they beat their asses.
This shit is ass but Thom Yorke is my lil twink boy so I can't give him too bad of a rating
the specials aren't so special
It's a miracle that Ozzy Osbourne is still alive
This album was honestly so fun, especially the parts where he started laughing mid-song.
I respect Nick Cave and all but I did not like this 💀
I've gotten Brian Eno three times and I dread the day when I inevitably get him again
Man, I tolerate The Eagles
Classic 60s album. I never knew of this band until I watched Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood. Interesting stuff.
Oasis is for the girlies who don't know how to talk to guys. Oasis is for the girlies who destroy themselves over and over again. Oasis is for the girlies who scream into their pillows at night. Oasis is for the girlies who don't know when to stop. Oasis is for the girlies who sing Don't Look Back In Anger to comfort themselves during a tennis match. Oasis is for the girlies who think about their crush when listening to Wonderwall. (What's The Story) Morning Glory? is for all us girlies out there. Stay safe yall ✌️
What in the Joni Mitchell was this
This is the worst pop opera I've ever heard
Yall I might have amnesia cuz I don't remember much about this album. That means it gets a solid 3.
this album was boring as hell but at least it counts towards my spanish log
Radiohead is the most bipolar band I've encountered. Some of their stuff is brilliant and some of it is shit. And then there's this. This was pretty ok.
Although I can see how people might not like this album, I really enjoyed it. It is not without flaw, however, it was entertaining and unique. It reminded me of Radiohead.
All punk rock albums from the 70s sound the same. Every. Single. One of them.
This album grabbed me right away. Very entertaining. The end wasn't as strong as the beginning.
I get that this supposed to be a good album and all but I just can't get into the funkiness of this.
This album was very serene and calming. It's a great way to start off your morning. I almost started crying at the wheel.
😐👍
Boy oh boy Scoob! Was this funky. Zoinks!
New Order is a band to rise up from tragedy and I respect that. Their music has left a mark in history. Although this album wasn't perfect, it had many good songs, like my personal favorite, The Perfect Kiss.
Kinda a fun album but it's just not my taste. It reminded me of Van Halen.
i have some of these songs on my playlist and i don't even know why anymore
I'm not a big fan of country, therefore, I'm not a fan of this. Not that it was bad, I'm just a hater.
If you liked this, you might also like: Brian Eno, Talking Heads, Jack Stauber, and Harry Nilsson.
I really don't get the hype. How did this cause so many people to live in vans and do drugs?
I can't say I'm a fan of his son, so why would I be a fan of him?
Fuck the system. You guys are a bunch of pussys who don't like anything "different". The amount of hate this album receives is unnecessary. Be real. It's not that bad. It's angsty. The lyrics are fun. It talks about witches. What more do you want? Is it the best thing I've listened to? No, but it's not hot garbage. If it didn't get such bad ratings, I would probably give it a 3, but just for the hell of it, I'm giving it a 4. Maybe that'll improve it's rating a tad.
this was completely average and I don't remember a damn thing
oh hell yes, the thin white duke was one of his hottest eras
The 🐦🦅🐓🐧🦜
I was gonna give this one star but then H2O Gate Blues came on and I got a kick out of it
This was a very solid debut album for a very solid band. Banshees is a good way to describe the style of them. Also, I love Siouxsie Sioux. She is my goth queen.
This album made me rethink the way I perceive the Beatles. Before, I thought they were just some pop rock band from a long time ago that everyone overhyped. It's now that I realize the Beatles were quite something. I am most definitely late to come to this realization, but I don't care.
I really got sick of hearing her voice for over an hour
it was aight 👍 i wouldn't care if i never heard it again
This either had some really good folksy songs or crappy whatchamacallits.
Some kid tried asking me for my Instagram but I couldn't hear him because I was too busy listening to The Stooges
I could barely make it through this album and I can't stand his voice but at least I liked Shelter from the Storm
What was that noise?
Moby 👍
Pulp is the horniest band I've come across on this generator
Aw hell yeah 🤘
Muddy Waters more like Crappy Waters
If Rufus Wainwright and Stufjan Stevens had a love child in the U.S. state of Tennessee but forgot to give him singing lessons
It's not that I don't like Bob Dylan, I just hate that that stupid voice
You might as well just have sent me to the crazy house
Beginning of the album: Hi my name is Slim Shady 😀😀🌈🌈✌️✌️ End of album: I hate my wife I wanna kill her 🤬🤬💥💥💔💔
I managed to go 15 years of my life without hearing Like A Rolling Stone
Why'd he sound like Beetlejuice
I don't know what a duran is, but it sure does make good music
haha morrissey has no friends
I used to consider In Your Eyes the most beautiful love song ever
Extremely mediocre and forgettable. I never liked R.E.M.
I tried liking this, I really did
Man, this guy really likes the rain
this was not groovifying
most sane Frank Zappa album
why'd he sound like bill wurtz
I will never not love this album, even though my first experience with it started with my hate for Where is My Mind. Since then, I have come to love it. Although the lyrics don't really make sense, it adds to the vibe. This was such an important album in music history and it should be remembered that way.
I've known of Sonic Youth for quite a while, but this was my first time listening to them. Boy, was it an experience. A good one at the very least. It was very experimental. Very crazy. I liked it.
If you like jazz, this album is a 5. Unfortunately, I don't like jazz.
This was a long ass album considering that all the songs sounded the bloody same
It feels illegal to be giving this album a 4, but the truth is that it sounds like every other post punk album. I so badly wanted to like it. I'm sorry.
The real question is: more power to the pussy or more pussy to the power?
This was too jazzy and too long for my liking. When I think of Chicago, I think of them from the 80s. It was interesting listening to their older material.
Quite mediocre. There are one too many The Byrds albums on this list.
This album sounded like if Elliott Smith, Alex G, Neutral Milk Hotel, Fleet Foxes, Beck, and Oasis wanted to make a soundtrack for a Wes Anderson movie together.
PJ Harvey is honestly one of the most underrated artists ever and I'm so glad this list brought me to her music.
I can definitely see how Bob Dylan was influenced by this
I really wanted to like this album. Some of the songs were beautiful, but most of them fell short.
meh
There's no need to push 7 songs together to make it 20 minutes long
man, fuck lana oh wait, she has alligator guy to do that now
Favorite song: Fuck Me Pumps
why do the most depressed people make the best music
Quite mediocre, innit? I don't see why this deserves to be on the list. I could've died and not cared if I'd never heard this.
some of the songs at the end were pretty nice but overall this album fell short
I honestly don't see how you can hate this music. It's just so catchy.
Sounded a lot like a Metallica
Sound like Bruce Springsteen and so do his other albums, so why do we need to have him on here a million times?
concept albums are always so interesting
This was actually pretty cool sounding
This album was very mature for it's time. I never expected this to be from the early 80s. The mix of angstyness and acoustic punk made for a very unique sounding album that was reminiscent of The Modern Lovers. Favorite tracks: Kiss Off and Gone Daddy Gone
happiest british person
classic punk rock
Brucey tried mixing genres with this one but fell flat on his face. Post 9/11 patriotic album does not go hard.
It would make for good background music in a movie
Absolutely mid
This album marked an end of an era. There are no more popular garage rock bands and there hasn't been in a long time. White Blood Cells is a perfect mix of the indie, rock, and folk scene. The most amazing thing about this album, though, is the simplicity. It feels like anyone could've made this album, but The White Stripes got to it first and absolutely rocked it. Favorite Tracks: Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground, Hotel Yorba, Fell In Love With a Girl, The Union Forever, We're Going to Be Friends, and I Think I Smell a Rat
not typical queen but still queen 👍
this made me uncomfortable
the only ones that were being deaf, dumb, and blind on this album were the who
this made me uncomfortable however it was good
I was having a nice time listening to this until Phil Spector started speaking
Oh my golly was that long. I barely got through it. It did, however, have some lovely little songs on it.
The noises that assaulted my ears unsettled me
Favorite track: The Partisan
Honestly, I'm glad they put modern pop albums in this generator. We don't need another Bruce Springsteen album, I'm sorry.
shama lama ding deng dong
Laura Nyro walked so the feminist movement could run
"Hey, I never asked you. Do you like guacamole?"
I didn't have to listen to this album to know that this was getting a 5
mediocre british monkey man
I now know what it feels like to have been high in the 60s
Interesting blend of genres
boutta go to the beach and smoke one
if the beastie boys made punk rock instead
It's just jazz 😐
I love The B-52's ability to for some reason make a song sound dark and eery. Just add a crap ton of bass and suddenly I'm feeling like a cool villain in an animated kids movie.
This was very calming. I almost fell asleep to it.
It's Stevie Wonder, so like.....
Very easy listening but they butchered Femme Fatale 😔
out of the many punk albums I've had to listen to thus far, this is the first one I've heard that is sung by a woman
music for a ballpark
This sounded like if Boy George was a regular white boy
"Damn Pixies wannabes" *checks year* "Damn Gun Club wannabes"
If it's Led Zeppelin, it's good.
the beastie boys if they weren't white
This was a lovely little album
This what I imagine indie sounds like to the average person. They don't like it and honestly, I don't blame them.

screw morrissey
oh to be a teen in the 80s
I can just tell this guy got punched all the time in high school
calming and haunting
meh
a beautiful album that fights against the injustices of the world
the epitome of horniness
I like Van Morrison, I really do. However, I feel like this album was a little bland for his work and overall, forgettable.
Once again, I have gotten an album that does not deserve to be on this list. Cafe Bleu by The Style Council was as bland as toast with no butter and about as interesting as my grandfather's trip to Walmart last week.
I feel like this album is only on here for Layla, which is what carries it. Oh the feels I felt when listening to that song.
This album brought old vibes to the table. I can't believe it was from the 90s.
After the fall of Radiohead came Coldplay. They picked up the slack and eventually fell into the same demise as their predecessor. In their height, they were an amazing band. Beautiful melodies. Poetic lyrics. The album A Rush Of Blood To The Head reflects all of this. It's a shame that this was Coldplay's last truly great album.
i love the monkeez with 3-D and pasta
it was just jazz
THIS IS SHITE
easily one of the best electronica albums I've heard
fun and enjoyable live performance
Bowie at his lowest is still fucking great
A chill and calming album built for wasting away in your bed all day.
beautiful and calming music destined to be featured in a movie
brilliant
there's one thing I'm a bitch for, and it's sad british men
the 50s go hard man
Oh come on guys, I actually liked this one. It for some reason reminded me of Nirvana's earlier work. Raw, messy, hard. I'm sorry it didn't fit your music standards.
what a weird drug trip through fairy land...
i would rob banks to this album
close enough, welcome back stevie wonder
I've never had dementia so bad omg I'm creaming
I saw ZZ Top in Texas once at a steak restaurant. They called me fat.
welcome son of The Who and Pink Floyd
my faith is restored in america, get me the gun
I can hear the drugs
aight 👍
Oasis ass kissers
this album is only on the list for the first song, the rest was mediocre
still thinking about how Tim wrote a whole ass song about wanting to be apart of his family and yet he still ignored Jeff 😭
it was just French 👍🇫🇷🥖
this was a drug fueled, sex romp, groovy, psychedelic rock, wacky, space alien, and frankly weird adventure through music
Amazing, classic, and, dare I say, thrilling album. Thank you, thank you, you can stop the applause now.
bleh
I was never much of a fan of R.E.M
A beautiful and calming album that mixes together genres of electronica and pop.
ew ew ew ew ew ew country ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew
After my 2nd day in a row listening to a country album: I'm going to shoot myself
hell yeah I love songs about beating the shit out of my wife
really fun album that sounded like the cousin of Queen
This album reminds me of a guy I used to know. What a peculiar experience he was...
I want to claw my ears out
I hate the fuckin' Eagles, man
The only reason this rating is so high is because of Bohemian Rhapsody
I've said it once and I'll say it again: being high is a state of mind. Never once have I taken a sip of alcohol nor shoved a needle into my arm. I don't need to after listening to this album. Jimi Hendrix's "Axis: Bold As Love" makes you experience all the joys of the 60s: drugs, sex, and sweet, sweet alcohol. I spent the entirety of my musical journey dancing in the shower and seeing floaty shit in my room. This album has it all. Thank you, Jimi.
whether you love or hate this album, you have to admit, punk is fucking lit
I kept trying to convince myself that this wasn't that bad until I started to get towards the end. I lost it.
A world without Nevermind is a world I care not to live in.
Really cool album. I could imagine myself sitting at a cafe with this playing in the background.
An album with a really interesting and unique sound that unfortunately fell short
I loved listening to this because it counts for my spanish class' weekly log
I love feeling like a British drug addict
Not even California Dreamin' could save this one
This is a really hard album to judge. It's literally just sitar.
It was nothing special
This was like one big song. In a good way of course.
kinda mediocre but I appreciated the bits of folk innit
What a beautiful voice
an all african american group is pretty rockin but this album wasn't
it was just noise
who hurt bobert 💔
I honestly don't see how this can be seen as anything better than mediocre
I was really blown away by this album. For some reason I've had some weird prejudice against the Beach Boys but that's probably just because of my strange 5th grade teacher.
This was my first time listening to this album and I loved it. All of the songs were amazing with some particular standout tracks like "Lust For Life" and "Sixteen". Overall, really phenomenal.
I don't know what so different about this punk album but it was feeling particularly bland today.
My dumbass yelled out "JEFF BUCKLEY!!!!" when Lilac Wine came on. All jokes aside, Nina has a nice voice.
I didn't understand what was happening half the time but fuck yeah
i want my mtv
yo ho ho are ye ready to set sail to the seven seas, fine lass?
Marvin Gaye is a man of many questions
not really electronica but i don't know what else you'd call it
what boring shower time entertainment
what an interesting album
this is what rye bread sounds like
music to be stoned in your room to
i don't know what krautrock is but hell yeah
they can never make me hate you, bobert
this was like basic dad rock wtf
1001 albums to kill yourself to
I thought this was supposed to be some almighty album wth
Classic 80s. Other than the hits, this was pretty basic.
all the songs sounded the same but hell yeah
dawg this is country? 😭
This is the sister album to Ziggy Stardust
honest to god what even happened in this album
Fuck it, this album was actually really cool. It had the same tone and vibe as In Utero and was honestly ahead of its time.
aight 😐👍
this album deserves all the hype and is the doors' best
the french can be forgiven of the their war crimes after putting out a banger album such as this
funky
this one's for Yosemite Sam
what was this 🥀 I mean seriously how does something like this drab end up on this list
insignificant. weak. useless. these are the words that describe this album and my son.
this album slaps i don't know what you guys are talking about
I just learned that this album is almost all samples and now I don't like it as much
the original weirdcore
you know the album is good when there is moaning in the middle of it
this album is so nostalgic to me for no reason
this album felt like unseasoned scrambled eggs
lmao no
I'll never hate jazz. I'll never love it, either.
This album made me think heavily of Oasis and The Stone Roses
