Solide album. Wat te verwachten viel van de clash. Rauwe gitaren, goeie hooks en korte to-the-point liedjes.
Classic as classics get up until Polly, then just excellent. 9 out of 10 but saving 5 stars for their Unplugged (if it is included)
Beatiful album, tight band and some great vocals.
Separating the art from the artist: 3 stars
So good, not nearly his best, still 4 stars
Great sound, nicely latered with a few really standout tracks
One of the greatest voices, great collection of songs
some great, some not so great
Just imagine releasing your debut record and it's this one - crazy
A few goodsongs that all have somethjng off putting and a couple of mehs add up to two stars
One of the most diverse albums there are - messy, polished, but all beautifully crafted songs and my favoutite one fron the Beatles
Not fan of the genre and this album did not change that
Not for dedicated listening
Just fine as background or club music, but hlad there was some sort of platlist that seemed representative of the original recording instead of the almost 4 hour 'album' on Spotify
Very mixed feelings about this one. Never explored her music before and was excited to do so. Started off great, but then boredom took over, and 3/4 in I thought it was great again, then meh again. I thjnk I actually like it better than 3 stars but it was the wrong day to listen to.
Never heard of this, but still disappointed: - 20+ albums in and this is the first one of this century, and - i loved the idea of these styles fusion biut - way too repetitive and - so many tango type instruments that can provide such deep emotions but ybfirtunately sound quite hollow here
What a dated sounding album - should not be on the list. Side 1 is just overall dreadful but the title track/side 2 saves it from 1 star
What a great album this is. Hadn't listened in a while but so beautiful. Best to be listened in full and get absorbed by the soundscape. Are all songs 5 stars? Mostly yes, but all are at least 4+. Add to that that the title track and the monumental Svefn-g-englar are easily 6 on a scale of 5 and my vote is clear.
Like it, not love it
Incrdible voice and orchestration.
Great start, but not consistently great
Hits are the best
What a nice surprise! Never even heard of the band, but really enjoyable and bit chaotic (diverse) music.
So outdated that it sounds silly at times
This was really beautiful and masterfully played
Nice to hear
Pleasant at times, but repetitive and not really goung anywhere
Pff
Yes, clubbing in the nineties!
Never really explored his music. I expected this to be good, but wow - what a voice and orchestration. Fantastic songs!
3+ stars oyt if 5
One of the greatest albums ever made
Virtuoso, yes. Tight, yes. But it is telling that 'songwise' the best track by a lot is a cover (not talking about this ice cream song)
Disappointment
Ok
Nice!
This was a great surprise! Did not know what to expect, but really special. Also, Spotify generated playlist after the album was great.
Ok
Just uncomplicated and fun
Surprise, surprise - a heavy metal album I actually love
Couple of great tunes and mostly decent 7- out of 10 makes 3 stars
Great vibes but uneven
no songs really stood out
Almost 5 stars, great production!
Big band perfection!
Lijed Juju better but still good
yeah!!
Meh
Beautiful voice some nice arrangements, but songs just ok
Lovely surprise!
One of my favorite albums of all time
Love Karma Chameleon, but otherwise rather disappointing
Few good tracks and a lot of nonsense
great, 4+
Quite good surprise
Best of the Berlin trilogy
Hits are good, overall quite boring and bland
excellent album, with just a few weaker songs towards the end starting with "Boss Of Me" (but not including one of the very best "You Feel So Lonely You Could Die"). Absolute standout remains "Where Are We Now"
Opening track - nice groove, i thought I'd like this, 4 stars! But then the rest - each of them on their own low 2 stars with perhaps 2 or 3 threes. But... the album as a whole became just so repetitve, bland and boring that it started to annoy me. As a whole: 1 star.
Such a strong album with just a few filler tracks towards the end (not including the jimi covers). But there are several tracks that go beyond 5 stars and make this one of my favourite albums of artists that I would personally rank tier 2 (say somewhere in range top 20-50 of artists). Think the title track, If You Have To Ask, I Could Have Lied, Give It Away and of course Under The Bridge.
Separating art and artist for many reasons but still one star deduction
9/10 big surprise
A couple of nice grooves can't save overall juvenile album
4.499999/5 stars
Wow, really nice! I will round the 9/10 up today
Love vigilantes I knew already, one of my favourite tracks fron the 80s 10/10!). The rest was not consistent enough for 5 stars overall, but a few more glimpses of brilliance (Sunrise!)
the hits are perfect, the others really good
From the Bends to Hail to the Thief is one of the best 5 album streaks ever. I'd rate the Bends probably at the bottom of them, but still a solid 5 stars (9/10)
just don't like the squeaky singing, test is ace
Side b: 3 stars, side a: 1 star
just fine
Conflicted on 3 or 4 stars. Stacked up against Bruce's own discography it is clearly at the lower end. Also not very consistent, bur a couple of gems (you're missing, city in ruins, skin to skin and worlds apart) push it towards a 3.5 which I will round up
First time I really wanted the looong, dragging album to be over asap. I just hated the grunting and ultra fast lick drums. But then more towards the end there were actually some songs that did nit have those and actually soonded really good.
Wow, wow, wow!
7/10
9/10
thankfully there is sultans of swing. This 6/5 star classic pushes the album to an easy 4/5 instead of having to think deeply about the rating for this otherwise solid 7/10 album.
Just no
almost 4 stars
Nice surprise!
Nothing memorable, but nice
Low 3
Inconsistent and juvenile but quite a fee tracks with great flow
6.9/10
Sone great tracks, but also getting weirder towards the end. 7/10 rounded up
Tad disappointed, the song s I knew alteady are great but overall a bit boring
Some outstanding tracks, overall not as consistent as Are You Experienced
What an energy!
