Reviews (page 7 of 9)

DANCE and Genesis and some of the other songs are very good, but I felt like it lost stream later on.

From the bombastic opening of "Genesis" to the sheer, heart-pounding tension of "Stress", the production is a masterclass in using samples and analog synths to create a sound that is both raw and meticulously composed. While there are a few moments where the momentum shift, specifically the more vocal-heavy tracks like "The Party", the overall journey is an absolute banger that has aged remarkably well...

Brings me back to my Skrillex days

A couple bangers, reminded me of Daft Punk

It was okay. One song was a mild hit some years ago. Wouldn’t listen as a steady diet.

I swear I’ve heard the song Genesis before but I cannot recall from where. Overall it was a decent album. Electronic music is definitely a genre that I haven’t explored much that I would be willing to do so.

Good laundry music

If static was an instrument

its aight ig

This is one of those albums I probably would have loved as a 21 year old bottom up the clubs. As a 50 year driving to work, it doesn’t hit the same. Not bad, just not my style anymore.

Umm, not really my thing but I can understand why someone who likes techno music would enjoy this

I wouldn’t say this album made me love electronica, but I could tell the difference between songs which is a first.

Daft Punk did it better but D.A.N.C.E. is still fun.

Actually enjoyed it as a workout album. Fun beats and DANCE is an undeniable jam for whatever reason.

If anyone likes the song Stress and hip hop, give fire alarm by Uzi a go 2.5/5

Not even close to an expert, but feel Daft Punk do this better?

Ett par tre stycken riktigt bra låtar. Annars ganska ojämnt. En finfin trea dock.

A couple of bangers hidden amongst some others that maybe pushed a little too far towards sounding electronic and not enough towards sounding like music. You will recognize D.A.N.C.E from one movie soundtrack or another and it is definitely the standout track of the album. As a rock/alt/metal listener, this was still enjoyable overall, though a few tracks had me hitting skip to avoid flashbacks of the dial-up internet days.

Starts out pretty strong, but fades after D.A.N.C.E just when I start expecting my ass to get blown out. At their best sounds like a cross between Daft Punk and Fuck Buttons. While this may be a (the?) seminal French Dance Rock album of the mid aughts, it was a 3 for me.

It comes out of the gate really strong with this hard rock meets dance punch in the face. But it starts to blend together after a while. Overall good vibes, happy to have it on, and we’ll be hearing that one great song forever, but not an album I’d frequently reach for.

OK for exercise. Best songs: Genesis D.A.N.C.E.

That album produces stress. Not harmonic enough for me.

Yeah it’s alright

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but this album was pretty good. It’s like someone said, “we need more music like Daft Punk” and another group from Paris, France called Justice stood up and answered the call.

It's not s bad album, but it's super annoying in some parts

Nesten 4.

- An interesting electronic vibe that I didn't hate - Would go back to this tbh

Parhaimmillaan edelleen tosi vaikuttava, mutta jälkipuolisko ja etenkin lauletut biisit tuntuu ikääntyneen vähän huonosti. Toimii paremmin yksittäisinä biiseinä, sillä kokonaisuutena on jotenkin raskas. Sanotaan 3+/5.

A really fun and well produced album. Upbeat, funky as all hell, and touches on those electronica notes that I loved so much around the turn of the millenium. Solid, fun album.

Pretty good house album. I didn't fall in love with all of the tracks like I do with Daft Punk records, but there are still some classic house hits on this one. Some of the electronic sounds (especially on tracks like Genesis) haven't aged incredibly well and have that deadmau5 vibe, which seems to be exclusive to electronic albums released between 2005 and 2010. Fave tracks: D.A.N.C.E., Phantom, Stress

There are some absolute bangers on this one, can't deny that. There are also a couple tracks that sounds pretty dated now, so a bit of a mix bag here. Overall though I enjoyed the listen, brings up some nostalgic feelings for sure. Fav tracks: Genesis, D.A.N.C.E, Phantom Pt. II

Some decent Some mediocre

fínasta dansipopp. 3,5 en hlusta aldrei á þetta aftur.

Recognised more than expected and not as ominous as implied. Some decent bops.

It was ok. Didn't really give much

Catchy

That was pretty cool. Nice bass, nice energy. I was pleasantly surprised!

A bit meh.

EDM is still not my jam, but I thought this was more enjoyable than Daft Punk's "Homework" album.

Pretty solid. Sounds like they want to be Daft Punk but not quite as good. Still pretty good over all. 3/5

2008 JP was blasting this

Alright, a bit too screechy

Very enjoyable for a guy that doesn’t frequent this style. Worth revisiting if you want to do the D.A.N.C.E

Daft punk vibe

3.5/5 - Some cool stuff here. Overall, a 2000's club mix, but probably one of the best ones I've heard.

Nostalgic as hell. Interesting to listen to these tracks as the originals for countless remixes that have become more popular since 2007. Also Party = Tick Tock?

it was fun and enjoyable but if you can have daft punk you dont really need justice at this point. Love few songs but cause its not really my genre and didnt had many outstanding moments ill give it a 2.5

Not a fan of the genre, but as far as dance, house music, electronica or whatever this is classified as, it's a good listen and I don't have too much to complain about. I appreciate the musicianship and it's production and have to admit I was nodding my head and tapping my toes through a lot of it. Funky and fun.

normal

Decent

not as many christian songs as i expected

Was some great edm but the song stress alone made me bugggg out . I liked the rest tho

Good for an Electronic album, but nothing I‘d like to here more in the future, to be honest

Decent Was thinking 4 on first listen but the more I listened it became a 3. Good but just good

Had some good songs and beats but I prefer EDM with lyrics

Let's get drunk and freaky fly Mainstream electronic release with everything you expect. Pounding beats - check, rumbling bass - check, too many samples to count, tweaked beyond recognition - check It's like a harder faster stronger version of Daft Punk

Repetitive, like most edm, but catchy and riffy rather than dull and boring. Little to give it away as French, perhaps because their influences are so firmly rooted in the US and UK music scenes. Not my thing, really, but better than the average dance album.

не знаю..

Fine. There are plenty of better albums in this genre.

Transitions are awesome. Techy, glitchy sound. Middle dragged, but overall, I enjoyed this album enough.

D.A.N.C.E. rocks The Party: Why did a 14 year old girl sing this lol. It sounds like what I imagine a Jojo Siwa song sounds like. Only track I haven't liked so far. Honestly, except for D.A.N.C.E., I didn't really like any of the tracks with vocals. Overall, I think this was a good album. I was distracted again, but I think I got a pretty good feel for it. I would definitely listen again.

Loved the first three tracks, but unfortunately after those it meandered into several generic electro dance tracks that favored style over substance. Thankfully the final few songs were pretty good.

Not bad. Interesting compositions that held my attention. Not typically what I enjoy but I didn’t hate it either.

I didn't love the album as much as I thought I would. Alot of the drum patterns are kicks on 1&3 and snares on 2&4 for large spans of time. There's some cool experimentation but a lot of the kind of dirty synth patches feel a bit samey by the end of the album. I've heard most of this album before so maybe it just lost it's luster / novel appeal because I'm familiar with a lot of the material.

Genesis starts very metal and ominous, and jumped into an insane crunchy beat. Let there be light almost felt like a public service alarm but again became some beautiful crunch. D.A.N.C.E was a very upbeat change and was enjoyable. Newjack was cool but sounded not unique. Phantom had a cool bounce Phantom pt. 2 was a little grittier but about the same for me Valentine felt very ominous kinda video game-esque The party wasn’t really my style probably my least favorite so far DVNO sounded the same as what they previously did Stress was just a mosquito in my ear Waters of Nazareth was crunchy and fresh definitely my favorite. One minute to midnight was very rock oriented probably my second favorite. Overall:5.7/10

Electro house isn’t my natural jam, but this album keeps itself interesting with constant variations in rhythm, sounds and vocals if they’re in the song. Love getting that thought about what turns just random sounds into music and this album was thought provoking in that regard.

Thurs Oct 5th 2023 overall 6.6/10 fav song was Phantom Pt. II 7.7/10

HARSH especially the end, songs on there that I did not know from this artist

First half, I can be at a healthy level of drunk and groove confidently. Second half, pass the ketamine. We're gonna need some strong sh!t to keep this party going.

B Genesis 4 Let There Be Light 4 D.A.N.C.E 5 Newjack 3 Phantom 3 Phantom, Pt. II 4 Valentine 4 The Party 4 DVNO 2 Stress 2 Waters of Nazareth 2 One Minute to Midnight 3 My favorite movie soundtrack of all time is Tron: Legacy by Daft Punk, so I guess I shouldn't have been super shocked to like this so much. I'm a secret electronic fan.

interesting but repetitive, probably much much better when in a club

Fun but not epic like their likes as Chemical brothers or Daft Punk or 2 Many DJs.

This album was pretty neat and fun. Idk if it is because I am listening in the wrong environment, but I felt like the songs just drone on and there isn't much to latch onto, but I also recognize that I listened to this while sitting at my desk at work when this should probably be listened to in a club or rave

Justice Pretty cool. Definitely a sound of like 2010. DVNO and DANCE are the best tunes. The other songs have some cool sounds but need more compositionally. The stuttery short loud samples, bit crusher stuff, and super bright or midsy bass are a lot after a while. No warm tones at all all pretty harsh.

The party is so good

good and fun

One of the better electronic albums on here

Starts amazing, then becomes just kinda mid.Disappointing.Most of it is just fine.

Nice electro disco. It starts of great, but there’s definitely some filler on this record. Favorite song: newjack.

this album was fine. i don’t really like ever listen to something like this so i don’t know maybe that’s why i didn’t like it so much. i wish i could tell you my favorite songs but they all kinda just blended together. the ones i enjoyed the most though were “Genesis” and “D.A.N.C.E.” i definitely could’ve died without listening to this. it kinda kept me motivated while doing work though so that’s a plus

Sterk begin, matig midden, mwaa

Un álbum de nuevo electrónica sumamente influyente para las tendencias que le preceden. Sonidos originales y composiciones interesantes hacen del debit de Justice un LP sumamente cautivante y divertido.

Not my style, but interesting

Warming up on additional listen but after the first 3 songs there is little to enjoy

used to bump this all the time while grinding D3 for 12 hours a day in high school. brings back memories of working at temple and smoking weed. 3

Strong 3 for the really good tracks but this kind of falls into the dance music groove and works more as background music to my brain

2.5/5 ok background electronica

This is kind of cool. They mix dance music with more experimental sounds.

Good strutting music. One always needs a fitting soundtrack to accompany a good strut, and this fits the bill. 3 confidence boosters out of 5 😎😎😎

Some parts were good but you can’t credit Justice for any of them

A couple of great singles and a good vibe, but too much of the album feels like filler.

ok??? 6.5/10

I don't listen to lots of electronic music, but this album is one I will likely come back to. Sounds great sonically without being overly dense.

I like the tracks with guest vocals more, but this is largely still not my thing, sorry. C-

3.2 Objectively pretty good for the genre just not really something I'm in a rush to listen to again faves: genesis

this one was a mixed bag, i liked some of it alot, other tracks i didn't like at all.

kind of poor Daft punk

Police partout justice nulle part

Long time since I've heard this one. Its a bit like Daft Punks dirty sister. The beats are pounding and tbe distorted synths wear after a while. 3

JA, jeugdsentiment. Ik voel knallen, ik voel eerste keer Pinkpop in 2008. Eigenlijk zijn de nummers enorm simpel, maar die overgangen en algehele vibe pakken me nog steeds.

Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed this one. This is more like what I expected that EDM would sound like... actually danceable.

I enjoy this album but it gets kind of "same-y" after a few tracks

More forays into the world of electronic music thanks to this project! It's doubtful that I'd ever hear any of these otherwise, so I'm genuinely grateful for this generator serving these up to me. Some good tracks on this one. I liked 'D.A.N.C.E.' especially -- it's fun. Sometimes things grated on me a bit, things like the buzzing sounds, but it's electronic music and I've gotten more used to it. I still don't really seek it out, but I get it in this context.

First half very strong, last half, unmemorable. A good three.

Electro Housea, ei ehkä ihan mun lemppari. Dance tietenkin tuttu kappale, lopussa vikat 3 muuten parhaimmat. Stress kuulosti aluksi nimensä mukaisesti tosi rasittavalta, mutta olikin kova. Kuuntelisin kuitenkin mielummin Feed Me:tä

Nostalgic

It's fun and juicy dance music. Drunk and in da club? I could dig it. But as a home listening it's a bit too straightforward for me. D.A.N.C.E. is super overplayed, I am more a fan of Genesis myself.

3.5 stars. Solid house EDM album. Lots of sampling, it's a good listen but nothing extraordinary. Standouts are "D.A.N.C.E." and "Genesis."

"starting with their 2007 single..." their music sure sounds like that lol i feel like im watching a youtube rewind

this is how i imagine daft punk sound lol. i kinda wish i liked it better? would dance to if given a chance + i love works that are heavy on sampling but idk if i would return to it later. maybe i'm just allergic to french electronic music. I'll rate it 3 but it's like 3,7 to me

Had not heard this before, but pleasantly surprised. Great beats. 3.4/5.

Not my cup of tea but it’s a great album to walk to

Eh, I liked a few of the songs, but I can only listen to so much of this type of music. I guess, objectively, it's good, but I'm not the biggest fan. D.A.N.C.E. is great tho.

Cat: This Rules. I’ve heard a couple songs and didn’t know who it was! Very fun, great dance beats, enjoyable stuff! A whole techno album is kind of intense to listen to in the middle of the day. This is late night DJ shit. AJ: overall… not for me. Just not where I’m living. I liked some of the sounds. I disliked a lot of the sounds. Phantom and Phantom 2 were my favorite. Don’t need anything else. Some nasty bass parts throughout, but not enough for me to be excited. High in a hotel room at 2:30? Maybe. Whatever. Drugs are fun. But I’m never gonna be the one to put it on.

I don't like this music but I understand it's a good album.

De va swag i början men sen ble de svag

Daft punk if they were good

Surprisingly enjoyed this. It capture the imagination of my ears.

Dance. Electrónica.

D.A.N.C.E.

Starts strong but tails off, the second half is much weaker than the first.

Not a fan of electronic music. D.A.N.C.E. was a good song tho

There’s some interesting house-y? stuff going on. Sounds like Daft Punk’s Discovery but punkier and more repetitive. The first half in particular feels kind of same-y. I like the second half better, Ig when there’s more vocals. The synth bass makes it very funky.

I'm a bit conflicted about this album. I feel like every song is indicative of the album itself - it typically starts off strong, groovy, with a driving beat that makes me want to get hype... but then it goes on and on and doesn't always make changes that make sense to me. Maybe I just don't really understand electronic music, or maybe I'm not listening to the album as a whole enough? I'm not sure. I'm sure that if I was at a rave I would really dig it if it was playing.

I gotta say, I find Justice a little overrated. They apply the same formula to basically every song on the album and it wears on me after a while. That said, lots of great tunes on here. Album is a tad too long and bloated for anything higher than a 3 3/5

Nifty glitchy electronic music often with a housey flare.

Not what i expected, and still a bit too edm for me, but it was imminently more enjoyable that the others of the genre that have been on my daily listen. I dare say that I may actually listen to it again.

Some bits were too much and repetitive. The bass heavy tracks had some major stank though.

honestly disappointing. came into the album already knowing & liking Genesis and DANCE, but most of the other songs just picked a theme and never actually went anywhere with it. no new discoveries for me here.

The French duo referred to this as opera disco. I think this is more like samples gone wild. This is not my type of music and at times it is a bit of a mishmash of styles, but it is always stylish. And, in the end, I guess that is the point.

I don’t think this was bad per se but it was just really not what I was looking to hear today. I also don’t like that only some songs had Melodie’s and there were a lot of scratchy sounds that grated on my ears. First and last tracks sounded the same to me, I think that must have been intentional? If so helps bring the album full circle. I did like the funky bass line on DVNO a lot.

it was alright, ive heard the first song before and it made me think the entire album would be as good but alas not

French Electronic House Music? Interesting. Ah, this includes D.A.N.C.E which had some radio play. It's a good song. Overall, I enjoyed this album. The last few songs lost me, but the first part is great.

Music for the hoes

⭐ Let There Be Light

I've jammed to tracks from this album before, however yesterday I was stressed and voy did this album come at my at stress inducing noise haha

Pretty good

Not the biggest fan of EDM but this was alright. Somehow managed to go for under an hour, which must be a new record in this genre. Still managed to get pretty samey, and I'd totally zoned out by the end, but 3/5.

I swear I’ve heard the first song on here before I just can’t remember where. Very interesting electronic album! Some of the songs I didn’t like, others I did. Felt like a very specific sound with how technical it got. Though eventually the beat started to sound repetitive as the tracks when on, whenever the beat came on.

For an EDM/house music album it was decent. I heard samples from many songs I recognized but couldn't quite place as the samples were so short and combined with others. It was an interesting approach, rather than sample whole beats or melodies. The best song on the album was D.A.N.C.E.

Surprisingly I didn't mind this - enjoyed some of the dark/retro vibes.

There are like 3 great tracks on here. The rest range from pretty good to skippable, but not awful.

I was discouraged when I saw another electronica album today. However, this one definitely brought a different vibe. Ultra compressed and distorted and funky as well. Pretty cool listen.

A generally fun D.A.N.C.E. record (🙄).

It's a dance album, so it's not something I'm usually going to look to put on. But there were a few songs on here that I found myself tapping my toes to, so it's successful in that at least.

Very Daft Punk. I like it, but it will never be anything more than a very good Rip-off. Good to listen to as background but surely not dance rhythms?

Not really my bag but the French do EDM really well. Shades of Daft Punk here.

Top 3 Songs: 1 - Stress (10) 2 - Genesis (1) 3 - Phantom (5)

Some of these tunes were pretty good, others made me feel like I was having an epileptic seizure. 2.5 stars, rounding up to 3.

I didn't hate it... but I don't like it. Electronica is not my kind of music. It might be good for exercising to. "Waters of Nazareth" has a nice uptempo beat.

A beautiful homage to Daft Punk from this french duo with funky beats and head bobbing tracks including the familiar "D.A.N.C.E" an enjoyable romp would listen to again. Favourite tracks D.A.N.C.E and Phantom Pt II

Enjoyable electronic music, works really well while doing something else

House. Ni fu ni fa.

Starts off super strong. Gets a little redundant/cheesy in the second half.

Good album, though I do not recommend listening when you have a headache

HL: “Stress”, “Phantom, Pt. 2”, “Genesis”, “Valentine” Enjoyment may have varied (I’ll have to think whether any of the guest vocals were necessary), but other tracks are deeply funky and kind of addictive. Idk is “dark disco” a thing? Daft Punk 🤝 Quincy Jones 🤝 Deadmau5 3.5 November 19, 2022

More enjoyable electronic than I was expecting.

This was the electronic album I disliked the least so far, I think

Classic House/electronic music - Just in the year 2007 and not 1997. Very listenable

Well produced and decent electronic music album, but nothing extraordinary for this list or for even this genre.

This list has really been hitting me with the EDM and related ilk lately. This was all right, I had nothing against it. But if it’s not just more of the same, it’s beyond my capacity to discern in this genre.

Waters of Nazareth toimii edelleen, muuten vähän huonommin, vaikka tykkään ja nostalgia-arvo kohottaa. hieman liikaa äänen rikkomista

An era in music that didn’t do a lot for me, reminds me of late night drives listening to JJJ.

Oh my dayyyys this was so mixed. I absolutely love bangers like D.A.N.C.E. so fun to dance to and then half of the tracks I also really enjoyed like One Minute to Midnight, great song to also work to and be productive not only dance to. BUT there is a song literally titled Stress... needless to say it gave me serious anxiety. I don't understand what people see in music like that or why they appreciate it. Loved half of the album.

Well I felt I had no idea who this band was then turned out obvs I knew loads. Quite full on. I liked how it was set up though as an album, like one song quickly led into the next as if it were a DJ. Not massively my thing but appreciate it for what it was

This noisier version of Daft Punk is ok for the background, but not something I’d bother to take with me to a remote island. P.S. I’ll note that, curiously, there is an inverse relationship between the quality of the songs on this album and their amount of lyrics.

Fun, playful electro that contains just about enough grit and scuzz to keep things interesting. Almost as if Kraftwerk and Daft Punk had a delinquent child. I have to say, given the year this came out, the disco-pop of D.A.N.C.E. feels like a harbinger of a type of music that would soon become quite modish again. Probably a little too samey to hold me rapt for an entire 48 mins, but I liked this, blats of static 'n' all

I wasn’t going to listen because electronic debt generally float my boat. But I did listen. And in part I’m glad I did. It has a lil Skrillex sound, which I’m here for. But on the whole it wasn’t for me.

Album starts with 3-4 strong songs that slap hard but falls off hard and starts to sound like someone is grinding metal inside a computer

It is EDM music. A couple of the songs had really good beats. I don't need an entire album of this music but thankfully it was relatively short. I did not skip any songs.

Pretty funky but far too samey

Really close to a 4, but just not enough variety.

I've heard lots of Cross without realising it, lots of ad music, but it's quite good. Has a good mix of modern electronic, house, and old-school funk or jazz influences. Easy 3/5.

tecno!

not my cup of tea mostly but i can admit that especially the first half of the album is pretty good and creative

3.7 + I remember being taken by the power of this album when I first heard the opening tracks at a friend's apartment. It sounded like Daft Punk played on a stack of blown-out guitar amps. I think I purchased this album on iTunes later that week and I even ended up seeing Justice live (which proved underwhelming as most DJ sets tend to be). Having seemingly written these guys off years ago, I was curious to see how this record holds up. The first few tracks draw me right back in. "Genesis" may just be their magnum opus - the beats are hyper-compressed making for scratchy and gnarly textures. But around the second half of the record, my excitement has definitely worn as the record putters to its end. The vocals on "The Party" and "DVNO" are annoying and "Stress" is a screechy slog. Stick to the first few tracks and skip the rest.

If you would have told me this was Daft Punk, I am not sure I would have been able to tell it wasn't Daft Punk - but more likely just disappointed, as it's just not as good as any of their other stuff.

I keep my opinion on electronic music and the excessive number of electronic albums on this list, but this one is pretty enjoyable. "Cross" is one of the first electronic albums that are not a simple variation of the same song for 30 or 50 minutes (not the only one, fortunately). After all, enjoying a few samples and electronic drums is not impossible.

I didn't love it but it was a good vibe.

It was alright. Upbeat electronic music reminiscent of daft punk

I suppose this is OK for the genre, I found it a bit discordant - samples cut at the wrong point are uncomfortable to listen to.

Perfectly listenable, editor for the two tracks with singing/pointless squealing. Acceptable background noise and I can see why it is a good example of it's genre

I'm probably operating this album. I'm not a big fan of his style of music, but this album had a couple tracks that hit.

Pretty good if you're into that dancy mood

Highlight: Valentine

Not bad, kind of sounds like Deadmau5. 6/10.

Fun techno bumper. Mid afternoon listen was ok. Might be better at night

I had never heard of the band or the album. I thought it was OK

1,2,3.5,(4,5) Groovy!

Decent dance

Justice did Daft Punk when Daft Punk stopped doing Daft Punk. I like this album; it's coherent. But the French Touch sound was wearing a little thin even at the time of release.

Not really sure how to rate albums like this. I liked it but there was nothing groundbreaking here for me. I'd heard D.A.N.C.E. before and always liked it. Phantom Pt. II also had a cool 70s feel to it. Everything else was relatively generic sounding but still good. 3.5 stars. Might have given it a 4 if it wasn't for The Party & DYNO. WTF was that.

Best Song: D.A.N.C.E. The "childish" vocals ordinarily seem like the kind of thing that would just annoy me, but they really do work well. Worst Song: Valentine. The carousel-style music did nothing for me. Overall: Nice working music that definitely doesn't have as much of a "dance" feel as the track names would imply. Leans a little too heavy on the deep, bass-y "wah" sounds to generate contrast, but overall a pleasant, groovy listen.

Average electronic

I'm familiar with the track D.A.N.C.E - the album is a little bit much for me and a headache, but well done. I get the appeal.

Not really my thing. Had a hard time getting into it. Not bad though

Huge for its time but hasn't aged well, especially the last few tracks with vocals. Couple of undeniably big singles though.

Banger

don't know why this is a must-listen. if I wanted to listen to French electronic music, I'd put on Daft Punk. I don't like Daft Punk. 2.5/5.

House. Ni fu ni fa.

Sometimes it was fun and ambient, and other times it was too much. 2.5

Really fun album

not my usual jam, but it's solid. highlights: Let There Be Light, Stress.

7/10 Best Song - Let there be light

For the 96. *97

Knew a few from snowboard film soundtracks back in the day

High point is a Tenebre sample but that just makes me think "is this actully good or does the Tenebre score just fucking rip?"

Seriously question: Has anyone seen these guys and Daft Punk in the same room before. I haven't looked but I wonder how many people have made this same joke before me.

Very poppy and fun but I have trouble getting into and not getting bored by electronic albums

EDM will never be my genre and most of this washed right over me, but D.A.N.C.E. is an absolute banger and the album was worth listening to just for that one track.

Vibes, vibes, vibes. I really dig this album. Hasn’t aged as well as I would have liked it too, but still very solid. Beats really get you moving!

Like Daft Punk on coke. Great bass playing, though.

OK. I hadn't heard of Justice before. But D.A.N.C.E. is definitely a good song. Mainly because I kept hearing it on one of the video games that I always played (Forza Horizon 4?). Of course, I thought they were saying "Louboutin", as in the shoes. So there. While it isn't in my wheelhouse of music, I'd listen to it again.

The album starts off amazing, but isn't consistent throughout in my opinion. The first 6 tracks are the best of what the French funky techno scene had/has to offer. But after Phantom Pt II the album collapses, and songs like DVNO and Tthhee Ppaarrttyy are just annoying. It goes up a little again with Waters, but not enough. 3,5*

Nada para impresionarte

Not my cup of tea

Good, but not enough

I do a lot of house dancing and thus have been exposed to hundreds of hours of house music. This means that my standards for great house music are pretty high and unfortunately, while this music is great, it just doesn't reach the heights of others in the genre do.

Poor ravers' Daft Punk, really annoying singing, didn't see the point of it. Loved 'We Are Your Friends' by that's a collaboration and not on this album

I guess if I lived inside a club I'd have this going and all would be right. But I live in a house and there's not many opportunities to enjoy this type of music. Still a very good album for what it is. 3 🌟

Fun dance beat stuff. Unfortunately the best song for me was one that automatically played on Spotify after this album was over

This is okay. Nothing spectacular

I wore out most of these songs back when the album first came out. But it's a solid album with a distinct sound - which I think is sometimes hard to pull off with electronic music.

It was fine. Confused why they won all sorts of awards and acclaim but it was fine.

Good album, nice relaxing EDM.

The best tracks here are awesome, and I generally like the sound of this record, but it's a lot of the same thing and I was wanting out bad by the end. Cut this album in half and you've got a banging EP though.

Good house

doesn´t really "grab" me; some good songs with schwunggg

Sounds like Daft Punk. Not bad, but I prefer Daft Punk.

Still OK but hasn't aged that well. There's better examples of the genre.

goeie techno maar niet goed genoeg

Enjoyable! Trippy, blippy, housey, dancey fun. Très français. They're whimsical with a retro sheen, but also have a flair for the dramatic, which I like. As you get deep into the album in the back half, it gets a more dissonant, which grated on me a bit. The song “Stress” was probably the most aptly named song ever, because that one completely stressed me out. I believe that was absolutely intentional, so bravo to Justice, I felt it in my bones. I absolutely love “Let There Be Light.” Also the David Shire sample in “Stress” was inspired. Fave Songs: Let There Be Light, Phantom, D.A.N.C.E., Newjack, Genesis

I don't know about this technological rave-up music - it's just all clicks and bangs, really. I can remember when songs used to have a proper melody, and a chorus, and words that told a story.

Not my bag. Appreciate the quality.

Weird electronic music

Bit repetative

A little more glitchy and abrasive than the other albums in this genre I've come to like. DANCE is the obvious stand out. The remix by Wale is also great.

electro pop-rock

This is not really my style of music and I have limited exposure to it. To me, it lacked the pulsating drive of others I have heard. Probably not qualified to rate this.

Not the kind of music I usually gravitate towards, but I appreciate the beats and the layers of sound.

Good start with cool transitions. But it gets stale before it's over.

If Daft Punk and Jamiriquoai had a baby, this would be the result. And I'm not complaining.

There were a few nice bops on the album but some of the songs blended together and sounded the exact same when listening to the album in its entirety.

High production value. Hate to love "The Party". New workout music.

Me gustó. Daft Punk meets Prodigy.

Couldn't figure out where I knew "Stress" from. Turns out it was on the NBA2k13 soundtrack which I played for hundreds of hours.

First couple of songs are great. 2nd half not that good.

Dobar album.

Felt similar to Daft Punk, but a little less melodic and noisy. Probably the increased distortion and no vocals. I'm a fan of EDM generally but I think this was on the weaker side, compared to modern artists.

Was okay what I listened too didn't finish

NOT my type for now. Maybe later.

I enjoyed this. Nice, upbeat, background music.

Although largely 48 mins of gr ner na na barp barp, there is enough melody and other stuff going on to sustain attention and make this more enjoyable and interesting than I usually find dance music. Nice variety in the album whilst still sounding a cohesive piece. Liked the classical-played-on-organs-to-8-bit style. Also enjoyed the elevating break offered by the two vocal led tracks sequenced together at tracks 8 & 9. Would stick it on in the unlikely event of hosting an all night rave.

Finally something a bit different. Still only gets three stars but...

Positively surprised. Good electronic album.

I think I commented when reviewing their French cousins, Daftpunk, that the LP format wasn’t good for electronic dance music, but Justice do a better job of mixing it up, plus the LP is only 48 minutes, and it’s not really dance music, at least it wouldn’t get me rushing to the dance floor. The production is great. I like the chunky fat bass synth riffs and the way they swing from an anthem rock feel to disco and back again. It was a good idea to bring in vocalists, I just wasn't so enamored with the ones they brought in.

Good album for the genre.

Really the poster child for why I think EM doesn't improve as it gets more "pure" - yes, a very well-crafted album, but whether at home or at a rave there's not enough variation/ebb/flow that feels organic.

While the list of things I didn’t care for about this album are long, I did not actually hate it. For the sake of not ranting, my biggest complaint is listening to one song after another at practically the same bpm and with little variance in dynamics. That said, I could get behind some of the ideas on here and if this was playing at a party or camp or something I could get down with it. Favorite tracks: “Let There Be Light,” “D.A.N.C.E.,” and “Phantom Pt. II”

This was a pretty interesting one for me, I can't say I'd ever heard this album but I swear I've heard one of the songs in an apple commercial or something of the sort

A bit generic sounding, but that’s because they pioneered the sound. I guess that’s why it made the list.

En vrai 3,5 mais ya pas

electro spinto

Run electronic, more like Daft Punk but not the same. Experimental electronic

A couple of good dance songs, overall average

Fun music to dance to but the songs start to overlap across the album.

I never really listened to Justice before but I quite liked this record. Laura made me say that.

Sometimes quite catchy for electronica. But tracks like "Stress" ruin it for me. 1,5

no estoy lo suficientemente drogada

Coked up French men

Another one I stopped-started on, it did grow on me a little - ended up thinking the main vocal track was pretty funny, but the rest was a little to sub-Daft Punk/EDM-y to enjoy - and, unlike the religious iconography, offered little in the way of redemption

Listalla toissapäivänä The Beatles, eilen Led Zeppelin, tänään Justice. Kontrasti on aikamoinen. Onnistuu ihan konesäksätykseem innostuneen teinin omassa huoneessa. Jotain positiivista: Phantom on vallan ok biisi joka tapauksessa. En pitänyt. 2/5

I don't know how I am supposed to listen to this. Somehow both anxiety inducing and boring at the same time. I can't say it's bad, because i don't know what it is. I can say I don't like it though

It’s decent DJ music. It was ok. Nothing to write home about.

Sorry, not anything I care to hear.

Not my cuppa electronica

pure panic attack. no ty

Texturally more interesting than the Daft Punk record. More cohesive than the Prodigy record. This is probably the best dance/electronica album we've listened to thus far. However, as with most album-length dance mixes, there is the feeling that the drumbeat has been set running and everything else is just trying to keep up, that the musicians are just finding things to do over a beat that will go on without them. There is a desperate, scrabbling quality. Of course, the first instance on the record of them breaking free from this is the awful Valentine into Tthhee Ppaarrttyy, which rather suggests they benefited from the restriction. 2.5 This was fine although I worry that Justice thought this was a more interesting and challenging listen than it is. They throw in the odd blast of white noise, a harsh synth voice, or flip half a bar of beats backwards (cringe) but it is all harmless Aphex Twin cosplay. This lot can’t think beyond 4 beats, 4 bars and 120bpm. Essentially Scissor Sisters with a little more self-regard. I have no idea why ‘Stress’ was bothered with - Night on Disco Mountain is edgier than anything here. 1.5/5

Could not get into this as well. French dance pop that did nothing for me...

some decent tracks

1.6 Sounds like robots gargling saltwater,

엘범 재킷은 예뻤고, 노래는 내 스타일은 아니었지만 나쁘지는 않았다. The album cover was pretty, and while the songs weren't really my style, they weren't bad.

Too much distortion for my liking.
