loved it

One of the best all time classics...

Smooth

I mean like come on

Music is life. First one, amaizing !!!! Waiting for tomorrow proposal!!!!

Many good memories of my college days.

5 stars!

There's a lot of music I haven't heard, so it's possible that there's a sexier album out there than this. This one's surely up there in the rankings though.

A lot of great songs - I remembered most of the album. Been many years so a delightful reminder of how awesome Marvin Gaye has always been. Many used in movies, so will be familiar to most people.

Crazy to think Marvin Gay single handedly invented sex in 1973 by dropping this, unironically bangin album 🔥 Intro is iconic, love the beanie cover where it looks like he's holding a massive invisible rock Let's get it on is much more interesting and intricate then the memes would have you believe. Best Song: All of them Worst Song: None of them If I should die tonight sax player / 5

Masterpiece album, If I Should Die Tonight gave me chills

🏄🌴🍹

Marvin Gaye slays

I've listened to Marvin Gaye's What's Going On, but this my first time listening to this album. I was immediately blown away by the title track. I've heard "Let's Get It On" countless times, but usually when I hear it, I'm trying to make sex jokes and sing the 'wah-wah' guitar parts. But this song is incredible. The singing is passionate and oozes sex, and the musical arrangements are incredibly rich and full of little details that add to the depth of the sound. The album kept it up on the next track,"Please Don't Stay," with some excellent percussion, and even more fantastic signing. The opening strings on "If I Should Die Tonight" provide a sharp contrast to what the album had sounded like so far, but the song brilliantly shifts into a slower jam. "Keep Gettin' It On" was a brilliant reprise of the title track, and I liked the political lyrics featured in it. I loved the bongos and cymbals on "Come Get To This," and "Distant Lover" had a great bass line and some great distorted guitar sounds as well. To close out the album, there were some great saxophone parts on "You Sure Love To Ball" and the slow "Just To Keep You Satisfied." This album was fantastic from start to finish, and I really loved listening to it. Let's Get It On is a shining example of soul, and shows why Marvin Gaye was of the best singers and songwriters of the seventies.

Perfect Rainy Day mellow chill album gotta play this more

sex album

Love this album, such a chill vibe.

Another classic!

Solid front-to-back

Smoothest

groovy

Another artist I was somewhat familiar with but my expectations were exceeded. Let’s Get It On was better than I had remembered and each song I was nodding my head to. Very soulful and enjoyed thoroughly!

Let's Get It On - oh shit this song 1/5 for eharmony or whatever using it. Please Don't Go Away - okay very chill very music to have lots of sex to. (4/5 for fu(n)ck) If I Should Die Tonight - RnB is literally all just sex music huh. (3/5 sex) Keep Gettin' It On - shout out to HBomberGuy's new video talking about plagiarism having this song in it for three seconds. that's how i know this song now. woo (4/5 it's a more upbeat song for hitting on a lady) Come Get to This - okay. please your woman sex song. (4/5 i think this guy likes sex) Distant Lovers - oh is this a sad love song. yes (3/5 these are slow and kinda boring for me) You Sure Love to Ball - this is just sex again. i have been fooled. (2/5 my ear got fucked i think?) Just To Keep You Satisfied - this definitely puts a cap to the album. this was 40 minutes of fucking. i guess i'm hrony now :/ this is 40 minutes of Aphrodite reincarnate Marvin Gaye talk about how much he loves fuckin. 5/5 the point was made perfectly Marvin Gaye. i get it.

An perfect Soul Album if you ask me Marvin Gaye has a really strong Discography and never does unecessary long albums!

I want some good lovin'

Classic from the first note 🎵🎶🎶

1973 a great year for music. An unparalleled blending of soul, funk, and sex.

Let's Get It On- 5/5 Please Don't Stay (Once You Go Away)- 4.7/5 If I Should Die Tonight- 4.8/5 Keep Gettin' It On- 5/5 Come Get to This- 4.9/5 Distant Lover- 5/5 You Sure Love to Ball- 5/5 Just to Keep You Satisfied- 4.3/5 Total- 4.8/5

Brilliant, I give this 5 stars because it really defines a sound..when people think of sexy soul this is basically what you imagine.

What a fantastic album. Soul, funk, R&B, pop...harmonious, sensual, masterpiece

The horniest record of all time.

Classic and love it!

Great album that starts Strong and keeps evolving throughout the sounds

Too short

I was conceived while this album was playing, I remember it distinctly.

I luv Motown

Smooth and beautifully produced and arranged.

Classic

❤️A sexy time classic!

Sometimes the stupidity of, and lack of creativity by, the human race really disappoints me. All those endangered species??? Simple to fix! Just put them into a room, dim the lights, and then play this record. Problem solved! There will be baby rhinos, pandas, and things running all over the place in a matter of months. In fact, this record is so potent, that as I played it, I felt my vasectomy reverse itself.

A stone cold classic.

Babies were made is what I'm saying.

Lovemaking the album!!

Excellent for what it is. Kinda soft listening, romantic, lots of saxaphone. Classic.

A beautiful bookend to the Stevie Wonder, a pretty much perfect record

I absolutely love it!!!

Phenomenal. Can’t believe I never listened to this before!

Loved it. No comparison.

Clássico demais! Marvin Gaye o maior dos românticos.

This album hit me hard instantly the first time I listened to it. It had so much impact and staying power. One of my absolute favorite Soul/R&B albums! 9 out of 10

So glad we got both of the Marvin Gaye albums, and that they were in the correct timeline order. Both of them are different, yet show the similarity that he knows what he is doing. A brilliant musician, and I can see why these albums stand the test of time and are RIGHTLY included on lists like this.

Just solid all the way through. I’m a fan.

Pretty damn good especially after reading the background for this album. Im between a 4 and 5

“You know how we just made one of the most influential, groundbreaking, and important albums ever?’ ‘Yeah?’ ‘What if we followed it up with one of the sexiest things man has ever created?’

It’s a classic. It’s not the best album of all time, that’s a nonsense, but it’s a great album.

Marvellous

Sexy-time!

Beyond criticism. An extremely important album musically politically socially and culturally .

This moves. A change of pace alright. SO DIFFERENT to the turgid stuff in this part of the 1001 list.So slick and lush and almost painfully sensual (this makes the mainstream stuff others were playing feel cold and remote...an aside on album art - fonts aside - the cover photo is modern, still). This album moves... what a voice, and style. tight band. If this is his first attempt at funk, he nails it. ... and he isnt even at "sexual healing" (that was 10 years later!) , but he is on the topic already, as captured on the wikipedia page for this album. ...this deserves to be on the list. and I like it. An easy, so easy, 5 and I am just 3 tracks in.

It's easy to think of the title track as almost a cliché of 70s smooth soul, but listening to it fresh and in context, it's hard to deny how compelling it is. It is the jewel in the crown of this album, which is a sensuous and rapturous template for so much slow jam, lover man soul to come. While the remaining tracks might not rise to the level of the title track, I find is a consistently great album to listen to all the way through. I would listen to Marvin Gaye, here at the height of his powers, sing the telephone book. This album is not quite as great as What's Going On, but this would be a career pinnacle for almost any other artist. 4.5 stars, rounding up.

Incredible album, could argue as one of the best ever. Loved it

Smooth, Jazzy and Funky. Amazing stuff. I loved every second of it.

Classic Motown soul with James Jamerson’s velvety bass lines

Love the funky guitars and string instrumentation, incredible side 2 on this one

Oh man this record is so good

very good music! I like it a lot! Thank you!

Flawless, barely a note out of place. Could listen to it all day (and did!).

Nobody makes albums designed to be good for fucking anymore. 5/5

motown's biggest masterpiece

Rating: 10/10

I’ve probably heard this more than any other album ever. This time through I tried an experiment and listened to it more as a metaphor about bringing more love into our lives in every way. Of course it’s an album about sex and romantic love. But I think Marvin had a much broader version of love in mind too. He’s pretty straightforward about it at times but also I think he just had his love dial turned up. Try walking around with the security of If I Should Die Tonight (if you can manage it), the openness of Let’s Get it On, and the joy of Keep Getting It On, and the world is a beautiful place.

Relaxing, beautiful

Absolute CLASSIC! So much soul in this and it never gets old!

Lovely steamy

Top 50 in music history, though.

Marvin Gaye died years before I was born, but goddamn if he didn't just make sweet sonic love to my ears.

I've heard many Marvin Gaye songs but have never delved into his albums and I regret it. Only 8 songs long and not a single one of them is a dud. As much as Gaye dove into social and political themes on his "What's Going on?" album, he made this a romantic, sexy-time album. It's amazing how he can transition so quickly between what each albums was focused on. This is a must-listen.

Must be the pinnacle of this sub-genre of seduction soul. Perfect craft.

already heard 9/10 (?)

Best easy listen music, super smooth. Super sexy

muy excelente

Fantastic. Love the baseline on “Please Stay.”

I’m a new person now. This album changed me. Possibly the most sensual album I’ve ever listened to. There’s a raw sexuality to it but when the strings or the sax comes in it adds some sort of romance to it. Such a simple thing to base an album off of but it does it so completely. The jazzy and funk inspired tracks blend seamlessly with the ballads. Essential listening!!!

Muito bom.

Damn this album is smooth as hell. Classic, of course. But Marvin was a next level talent. RIP to a legend.

Great album

Hadn't heard the album before. It's great

Excellent album all the way through. Amazing vocals, amazing groove, great songwriting, tons of soul, everything just sounds perfect.

Just all so smooth

First time. Very nice. Easy and romantic.

Beautiful, legendary stuff here

This is just so good, damn, what a strong start.

Love this album. The mood is perfect and the singing is too. I don’t have a single problem with the album. I honestly think it’s perfect. 5/5

Classic album, one of the smoothest sounding things you will ever hear. Best song: Distant Lover, Worst song: Can't pick

His voice is the embodiment of smooth.

Smooth

Featuring such songs as "Let's Get it On, "Keep Gettin' It On," and my favorite, "You Sure Love to Ball," this is a steamy album. Its liner notes even refer to "one's genitals." Soulful and sexy, this is fairly perfect.

It did not hurt my feelings at all to listen to these smooth sounds. So sexy!! Honestly, there were a couple of moments in my multiple listens that I had the thought that some of the lyrical content was a little over the top for me, but it didn't stop me from starting the album over again once it finished.

Making us all want to Get It On is what Marvin Gaye does best.

Listened to this all day on repeat… work was never so sexy.

damn dude, I didn’t realize how much of a legend Marvin Gaye was 10/10 - the deluxe edition is awesome

Smooth, sexy and sweet. The music casts an irresistible spell. There’s also an air of melancholy over a lot of these songs. There are a lot of lyrics about wanting a lover back or yearning for a new love who hasn’t quite agreed to “get it on” just yet. The closing track “Just to Keep You Satisfied” captures this romantic sadness exceptionally well. What a voice. Just impossibly, superhumanly beautiful.

Very romantic, and sexy record. Probably the #1 record that most people think of when they think of sexy music. It's in the title. Marvin Gaye has a wonderful, soulful, buttery smooth voice. Easy 5/5

It doesn't get much better than this, because it CAN'T get much better than this.

Absolutely beautiful album from a complete legend of music. I never wanted this album to end. Favorite track (non-Let's Get It On division): Keep Gettin' It On

Classic Marvin, the dude was a genius

Pamaypay!

A masterpiece.

Very good

fav songs: lets get it on you sure love to ball just to keep you satisfied please stay if i should 5.0

I’ve had sex before

One of the most iconic lovesong albums in existence. Very good.

"I've been really tryin', baby.." The album that layed the blueprint for the slow jam.

Love it

A classic. This album helped to move Marvin away from his Motown roots and develop a more soulful sound. His mix of funky beats and sensual lyricism also helped to influence the new wave of funk and R&B music of the 70s and early 80s.

prince of the soul

sad he didn't get to continue making beautiful, soulful music.

A classic. Perfect vibes for hanging out with alex for the afternoon :'). Listeneed to the deluxe version on spotify which definitely took a minute haha. Highlights: "Distant lover", "lets get it on".... duhh

I feel so HORNY and RESPECTED RN. DAMN. 9.7/10

So gooooooooooooood

One of my favorite albums.

Fabulous album. Still stands up to scrutiny now and a joy to listen to. What a voice

OoOoOoOOOOOOOO. I feel a little uncomfotable listening to this in the morning of a work day. but oooooooo Let's Get It On has gotten countless hopeless fools laid so its irresistable. Marvin's upper register is woah! If I Should Die Tonight is a great song.

What am I gonna do, give this less than five stars or something? C'mon!

this man is so horny!!!!!!!! but he’s nice with it!!!

Someone should try having sex to this album - it's that good.

You already know who it is

I mean it’s Marvin Gaye

The hype is real, yo.

Following up the most important and powerful album in then-recent memory would be a daunting task but Marvin turned this album into an ode for sexual magnetism and raunchy good times. Yet another step in the right direction in a decade where R&B and Soul found its footing and stamped its legacy. Essential listening.

Motown classic. I think there is not much to say.

Perfect soul album, simple as. Gaye is a master of fitting in just the right number of sounds, and each one seems distinctive on top of it. The runtime makes for an easy fit, but every minute is rich. And there's a slight bend toward tragedy.

vibes were impeccable - bonafide classic

Mmm hmmm.

The Prince of Soul! Marvin Gaye will forever be a soul legend. I love the way he combines his passionate singing with so many instruments into one of the most memorable sounds in music. “What’s Going On” is one of my favorite albums, and this comes pretty darn close to matching it. Easiest 5 star I’ve given so far. Favorite: Keep Gettin it On

One of The best all time

I've heard this album plenty of times, and it never fails to surprise and intrigue. An all-time great.

Amazing!

I very good album

OOH ik geniet hier zwaar van

Hot damn, he's got soul.

Precioso

Marvin. Yes. Beautiful.

Comment unnecessary. But I'll say it anyway: utterly brilliant.

Finally mother fuckers. History will eventually come around to realize this or "Here, My Dear" is Marvin's best album. The fact that he was able to take his unprecedented daddy issues and turn them into a joyful document encouraging the world to enjoy sex is something of a marvel. Marvin Gaye was so exceptional he even did all of his own background vocals here.

Come Get To This is my favorite song in the album which as a whole contains great R&B. Reminds me of sitting on a rooftop in the city watching the sunset.

Glorious late night soulful grooves.

Sensual, soulful, funky. This album has it all. Loved every moment of it. My favourite songs were Let's Get It On, Keep Gettin' It On and You Sure Love To Ball.

Great album. Every song is great, a classic. Really hits a groove. So much soul & emotion.

Fantastic from start to end

I've only heard the first song, wasn't expecting a story through the songs

Classic. Always has been.

amazing album..one of the best.

Classic Marvin Gaye album but I think I enjoyed What's Going On more.

Good stuff. Definitely strongly themed around the album title.

This is a blast to listen to. Marvin Gaye, you knocked it out the park. The vocals are sublime and dreamy, the falsetto is incredible. I've enjoyed every song so far, nothing more to say.

The slow music with the great melodic vocal. It's a good combination of listening and relaxation.

Yes please.

So much passion in this music. It’s hard not to move and sway when listening.

Listened to it all the way through, multiple times! So good.

Marvin Gaye is a king and a saint. And I will listen to anything with his name on it.

That'll put ya in the mood.

Great listen Friday morning

Pure sex. The album that is playing in my head whenever SHACK is in smelling distance.

A classic, near-perfect album. The title track alone is worthy of 5 stars.

A classic for a reason

super good all the way through, with such a strong start

Beautiful album all throughout. Excellent voice and songs. 9/10.

10/10 A solid set of tracks all the way through. An old favorite for sure.

Big sex energy

Never disappoints. I think there are more bangers on this album than pop culture will admit. Let’s get it on is great. But this whole album was great.

Perfect soul.

A classic and always excellent.

MOre singular and personal than what's going on. Sweeping compositions on all the tracks. Super layered sound.

Real love songs that really fit the mood

Stellar

Really dug it.

Tight, very sexual

Simply an incredible album

Excellent R&B (and SBFM) album

This shit a classic. Let's get it on is an ultra classic. The sound is just so perfect. Gaye is just so perfect. I dont know how you make something this smooth. 7/8 favorite song: Distant Lover.

Love love love

Mega lækkert album. Smooth AF. Lutter gode numre

Simple tunes but a stunning voice and style.

Groovy jams, thought provoking lyrics that still resonate today

Loved it. Followed it with Ain't That Good News by Same Cooke

A classic 5/5

he really did get it on

James Taylor and then Marvin Gaye. Finally. Overall, this 1001 albums list has been disappointing. And I’m on something like my 900th album.

Album #108: Let’s Get It On - Marvin Gaye Genre (W): Soul, R&B, funk Singles: Let’s Get It On, Come Get to This, You Sure Love to Ball, Distant Lover I have not listened to this album before. Thoughts?: What a beautiful and sexy album. I love the string arrangements and Marvin Gaye’s voice. I also love the theme of the album too. Marvin Gaye is awesome. Favorite songs: Let’s Get It On, Please Don’t Stay (Once You Go Away), If I Should Die Tonight, Come Get To This, Distant Lover, You Sure Love to Ball, Just to Keep You Satisfied*

omg it’s That song

it was my first time to listen a full album of marvin gaye. his music is not my kind but i've both enjoyed and appreciated the album.

Bra! Titelspåret är ju episkt förstås. Gayes röst är fantastisk! Jag gillade Come Get to This mycket, en låt jag inte lyssnat på tidigare. Albumet är väldigt sexigt och väldigt smooth. Cool artist med ett tragiskt slut.

Marvin is always interesting to listen to. So musical, and sang his emotions so clearly. The title track is an all timer, and the rest hold their own. Good stuff.

Solid. Most of the weight is in the opening Let's Get it On -- what a banger of an introduction to the album. The rest of the album kinda sags until the end. Was really excited to hear You Sure Love to Ball; never heard it and it was a great way to end the album.

Timeless

Let’s Get It On: 10/10 Please Don’t Say (Once You Go Away): 8/10 If I Should Die Tonight: 7/10 Keep Gettin’ It On: 4/10 Come Get To This: 3/10 Distant Lover: 10/10 You Sure Love To Ball: 2/10 Just To Keep You Satisfied: 10/10

Horniest album of all time

Not his best but that’s a crazy high bar. Great!

“Oh baby, you sure love to ball.” Mr. Gaye ain’t talking bout Abdul-Jabbar, he’s got one thing on his mind throughout this smoldering LP.

The first song was so random to listen.

Well, it was good for me ... LOL, in fact - it was over way before I wanted it to be. So smooth.

Very well done, with a great bass tone. A little too on the nose at times though. 3.5/5.0: Very Good

incredibly smooth

Good soul album

Man, It's Marvin Gaye, ya know? Not a huge fan of the style, but it certainly doesn't suck. And he is one of the best.

Beautiful mood, great music

Lots of awesome familiar songs on this album. A few average ones. But a good listen.

Fire, classic, sexy, sad.

let's get it on??? whatchu tryna say?

its an album for a date. i can see the candles with wine and a little bit of darkness, very very in love

Vwen alvwm para kojer.

classic rnb

Wooooow the funk and pure lure to this. Marvin gaye after some stevie wonder.. having a blast here

In which our hero waxes poetic about the healing powers of (sexual) love. While understandably lauded as one of the greatest hose albums ever, on closer inspection it is a somewhat quirky beast. The three obvious come-ons (the great title track, “Let’s Get to This” and “You Sure Love to Ball”) are all presumably aimed at then-current love interest Janis Hunter. Then there are three hesitant unsure inconfident tunes (“Please Don’t Stay”, “If I Should Die Tonight” and “Distant Lover”) aimed at God-knows who which completely alter the mood/feeling of the album. The album closer, “Just to Keep You Satisfied” is a cover of an older tune reworked into a lament over the breakup of his marriage to Anna Gordy. Good tune, but a definite downer to end the album. Which leaves the odd side 1 ending of “Keep On Gettin’ It On”. This is in the form of a long outro to the original backing music of the title track. It probably would have worked well as an album ending reprise, but in its current position sounds more like a space filler than anything else. The music is great, the arrangements are great, his voice is amazing. Four stars.

good stuf for starter

Ass a bass player, this album is a wet dream. It's also some of the best R&B/soul/funk I've ever heard. Fantastic album.

Made me happy when I saw it. One of my favorite veins of music. He’s a king of music, not just his niche. This album is smooth & full of soul…everything he makes feels like it’s coming from the bottom of his being. A pleasure to listen to over and over again.

This is a great album and no album sounds more like love and lust than this but it literally feels invasive listening to it. The start of “You Sure Love to Ball” just makes me uncomfortable, it’s like listening to someone have phone sex. Why would I willingly listen to that?

Great baby making music. My gf's head popped up like she heard a mating call.

favourite - just to keep you satisfied no notes

What a voice. I got a kick out of "Let's Get It On" being followed up a few songs later by "Keep Gettin' It On." "You Sure Love To Ball" is a jam, too.

very smooth, perfect for starting the day

Pretty damn good.

Good stuff. Groovy. Feel good.

Marvin Gaye is a gem. Title track is an all-timer.

Marvin Gaye’s Let’s Get It On is an undeniably iconic and meticulously structured masterpiece that leans heavily into his smooth, soulful vocal prowess and masterful instrumental layering. From the immediate allure of the title track to the deeply emotional resonance of "Distant Lover" and the lush, harmonious strings found in "If I Should Die Tonight," the album showcases an incredible depth of sound -- highlighted by exceptional instrument separation -- that keeps the listener captivated, even if the occasional track like "You Sure Love to Ball" feels less cohesive than its peers. While the record's experimental flourishes, such as the uniquely percussive, off-kilter groove of "Come Get to This," might challenge expectations, and the album's expansive runtime occasionally borders on over-dimensional, it remains a beautifully produced, essential body of work that earns a solid 4/5.

Perhaps the most iconic opening bar of the 20th century. I don't think I had actively listened to any of the other songs before although I've probably heard them over the years. Overall a solid and consistent experience, like there's nothing that would suddenly take you out of the moment if you were playing this at a party (or makeout sesh).

9/10 Favourites: If I Should Die Tonight Keep Gettin It On Distant Lover ⭐️

Bell'album, ma meno bello di What's going on, anche se Let's get it on è famosissima

Ik vond het super!

Would definitly enjoy it while being high asf

Love is in the air! It’s not as cutting edge as what’s going on but a solid, cohesive album. Turn down the lights, put this on, and invite your boo over

It’s criminal this album is so short - I’d of loved it just as much if it was twice as long - but it’s short and sweeeeeettttttt. It’s so smooth and Gaye just knows how to make brilliant soul music

This album is soooo fineee, this sensual soul album is perfect with his smooth and sweet voice. It does not miss throughout the album, which can definitely create the right mood. The placement of Keep Gettin' It On is just perfect.

Let's get it on! Then let's get it on again. How about gettin' it on some more? This ain't enough gettin' on yet. Why aren't we still gettin' on now? Oh c'mon, let's get it on.

Beautiful album, lovely smooth tones and a great voice.

Emblematic of that sound

First listened on 22nd June 2026. Favourite song is Distant Lover.

Hardest album cover of all time. Fav track: If I Should Die Tonight

I mean look it's really good but it's not great.

Come Get To This fue agradable sorpresa: rítmica, agraciada y fina.

Good album - short and sweet. Laughed out loud at the song title “You Sure Love To Ball”. Favourite track: Let’s Get It On

I usually don't listen to this kind of music, but Marvin Gaye is just built different. Really good album.

Banger, I hardly know her. Marvin Gaye always hits.

I thought this one was "What's Going On?", so I spent the whole day thinking of the other album of his, only to realize upon arriving home that I had the wrong one queued. This record is really smooth, buttery, and feels really sexual. I'm only really familiar with the title track as of now.

The opening track is surely the most used romantic trope of all time. A couple of the songs are a little too on the nose for me, but I enjoyed the whole listen. Gaye’s voice is extremely powerful on this album as well as his entire catalogue. He is deservingly placed among the R&B greats.

It’s funky, it’s Motown, it’s classic. Impossible not to listen through that and feel a little warmer on the other side.

First time listening to the whole album in 2026 and it is amazing!

Love it

Marvin Gaye meant this for sexy times between lovers, not dudes working on their computers on a weekday morning, but here we are. "Let's Get It On" is a classic, of course, but these slow R&B jams—even ones by an icon like Marvin Gaye—aren't my thing. 3.5, rounding up to 4.

A worthy follow up to “ what’s going on?”. It can be kind of fun to debate one’s preference for the sociopolitical lyrics of the earlier versus the super sexy style of this one, but in the end, they both got great grooves, and of course Gaye’s impeccable, soul voice. Another thing they both have in common is the occasionally grating strings. (.5 pt off).

Just an amazing RnB love album that encapsulates Marvin Gaye’s sense of love for the genre.

A destacar: Track 1 - Let’s Get It On Track 3 - If I Should Die Tonight Track 5 - Come Get To This Track 6 - Distant Lover

Smooth summertime sex

So nice and classy

Listened to this on a sunny day on my bike. Loved it.

this guy fucks

Just as good as I thought it would be.

If sex had an anthem, it would be the title track off this album...and it's all in the vibes. It's a reminder of how the structure of music and how a singer uses their voice can be so evocative of a mood. Now compare this with the dick swinging cock-rock of the 70s and 80s, where the lyrics were much more suggestive. There's no comparison, "Let's Get It On" is sooooo much sexier and much more apt to get you in the mood than, say, Poison's "Talk Dirty to Me."

Gaye almost pulls off the same trick twice, with another incredibly smooth, funky masterpiece, expect this time it’s about making babies rather than saving the world. I felt a bit of a lag towards the end but really enjoyable listen

What a voice.

Look, I like Marvin, the classics on here are unforgivably smooth. It is a little bloated with other tracks could be better. The reprise of "Let's Get It On" by the name of "Keep Gettin' It on" is just more of the same. Don't get me wrong, it should definitely be on the list, I just think it's overhyped. I'd prefer a greatest hits.

Off to a great start! Marvin's voice is fabulous and it's just so unapologetically sexy and smooth. Not much else to say, expect it's just good music.

Slow jams are really not my thing, but it's hard to deny Marvin Gaye's talents. The best of this is outstanding and the rest is just very good. The album cover feels like it would be great on a very different album

Tremendo

Well can’t go wrong with this stuff…

Almost 400 albums in, and plenty of horny albums, but this one's gotta take the title of horniest. At the same time, it never comes across as creepy, like say GNR or Pulp, just honest and soulful. Feels like it really bridges the gap between the motown sound and modern R&B. Smooth, concise, and how can you not enjoy that voice

This album made me pregnant

1. Just To Keep You Satisfied 2. If I Should Die Tonight 3. Please Don't Stay (Once You Go Away)

This album oozes passion.
