Butterfly by Mariah Carey

I turned it off less than halfway through. Her high pitched oooh and eeee and aaahh's were getting on my nerves. She just needed to shut up. Didnt like it at all

Arular by M.I.A.

utter bilge, turned it off

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths

Not an album to listen to before you die, more an album youd rather die than listen to again.

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings

I dont have words to describe this banal piece of childish crap. I tried I really tried to listen but after three tracks my brain was dead. I rested and gave it another go later, again 3 tracks was the utter limit of the nonsense. Last three tracks I skipped. One star cos cant give none

Not an album to listen to before you die, more an album youd rather die than listen to again.

Bat Out Of Hell by Meat Loaf
Aug 12 2025

Some catchy tunes but a bit too stage musical for my liking.

Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
Aug 17 2025

Im sure it sounded better in the 70's

Parachutes by Coldplay
Aug 18 2025

It wasnt as bad as I was expecting . Not keen on his voice though.

The College Dropout by Kanye West
Aug 19 2025

His politics and views aside, this is perhaps one of the biggest piles of crap I have ever heard. It was painful to finish. A resounding 0 stars if I could

Wonderful Rainbow by Lightning Bolt
Aug 20 2025

First track made me wonder if I was going to like it. Insane drumming, loved it by the end of the track.

Deserter's Songs by Mercury Rev
Aug 22 2025

was interesting in places but lost me when he started that dreadful tuneless whistling. 0 stars for that alone.

Here's Little Richard by Little Richard
Aug 23 2025

Good ol' rock n Roll is a part of music history, but there are better examples around. Loved the bluesy tracks but i cant get away with his voice.

Odessey And Oracle by The Zombies
Aug 24 2025

I enjoyed this. A couple of tracks were very evocative of good times. Lyrics on some tracks were very Ray Davies meets Syd Barrett. Liked it a lot.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Aug 26 2025

great from start to finish, some brilliant bluesy tracks, I cant quit you babe and dazed and confused. Its not even their best album, merely a taste of whats to come.

Music by Madonna
Aug 29 2025

It was madonna. Just a bit nothing but not too bad to turn off.

Aug 31 2025

Not a fan of Bonos voice. He tries too hard and ends up sounding like hes straining for a poo. That aside The Edge makes up for it with a fairly unique guitar sound. Drummer Larry Mullen Jnr is ok. Catchy singalong tunes but thats probably because they milked the album for singles.

Play by Moby
Sep 02 2025

It was so dull, and he really REALLY cant sing the blues.

Armed Forces by Elvis Costello & The Attractions
Sep 03 2025

Its not brilliant but evokes such nostalgia for me. Can hear the Nick Lowe in there.

Sep 04 2025

What a dirge. From start to finish this was depressive, doleful tunes and whined lyrics. She has a lovely voice but wasted on this nonsense.

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Sep 05 2025

It was really enjoyable . a singalong album if only I knew the words

Ágætis Byrjun by Sigur Rós
Sep 06 2025

Unique, took a little while to really get into it but Im glad I persevered I enjoyed it a lot.

Spiderland by Slint
Sep 07 2025

disappointed at yet another 1990's "classic" It was as expected crap. Saving grace was a decent bit of guitar now and then, but really they should have bought a drum kit.

Hearts And Bones by Paul Simon
Sep 08 2025

No surprises here. It was Paul Simon and not at his best either. Pretty bland stuff

Sep 09 2025

You can tell its quality produced, no denying his talent and musicianship. I just didnt like the sound much.

Good Old Boys by Randy Newman
Sep 10 2025

I was irritated by that constant jangling piano. It drove me barmy. It was like chinese water torture but less tuneful.

Achtung Baby by U2
Sep 11 2025

Better than I expected but still not my thing. Turned it off.

Signing Off by UB40
Sep 12 2025

This was a really monotonous album, all tracks, well most sounded the same. Dull and flat there was nothing to it at all. Needed a bit of oomph.

Unhalfbricking by Fairport Convention
Sep 14 2025

Not their best album but thoroughly enjoyed, hadnt heard any Fairport for years, it was a good listen

White Ladder by David Gray
Sep 15 2025

a complete and utter load of miserable, insipid strumming along to dirgey songs. Couldnt wait for it to end.

Arrival by ABBA
Sep 16 2025

great album, had me singing along at silly oclock in the morning before Id finished morning coffee. The BB of the group are quite ingenious with their production.

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Sep 18 2025

I had forgotten just how much I love this album. Its perfection from the first note to the last. Tangerine is one of my all time favourite tracks. The album and in fact Zeppelin havent dated a bit.

Sep 20 2025

Bob Dylan is a great songwriter. His protest lyrics are timeless and are just as relevant today as they were when he wrote them.

Sep 21 2025

Insipid wannabe Simon and Garfunkel. I couldnt shake the feeling that this was just a bit of a pisstake. Reminded me of a song from Horrible Histories. "More than 50 words to leave your language to your liking..thank a viking." Baynton and Rickard are better songwriters though.

Bayou Country by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Sep 22 2025

what can I say, great piece of swamp rock got me wide awake and footstompin while looking for a washboard and a thimble. Sorry not sorry if it woke next door neighbour at 5 am

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
Sep 23 2025

I love this Bowie persona, not an ultimate favourite but its not easy to compare them

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Sep 24 2025

enjoyed it, could hear a Bowie influence but thought the vocal style was very Mick Jagger. Really good listen

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Sep 25 2025

The first track was not at all what I expected from a band with such a naff name. I was pleasantly surprised with some really good blues guitar. From there Im afraid it, track by track, descended into just as I expected from a band with such a naff name. A couple of tracks were ok but over all a disappointment after a really really good opening track

Gris Gris by Dr. John
Sep 26 2025

Some of it was good. Some of it was awful. He whistled, there can be no forgiveness, totally lost me the second he puckered.

Cross by Justice
Sep 28 2025

it was an abomination. What a racket.

Pink Moon by Nick Drake
Sep 29 2025

His dull, flat miserable voice really got on my nerves. What a doleful dirge of an album.

Band On The Run by Paul McCartney and Wings
Sep 30 2025

I dont have words to describe this banal piece of childish crap. I tried I really tried to listen but after three tracks my brain was dead. I rested and gave it another go later, again 3 tracks was the utter limit of the nonsense. Last three tracks I skipped. One star cos cant give none

Eliminator by ZZ Top
Oct 01 2025

There was some really good tracks on this album. Enjoyed it a lot.

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Oct 02 2025

i didnt really like it. was a classy sound but not to my taste, really slow and dirgey

John Prine by John Prine
Oct 03 2025

The supposed satire of this was utterly lost on me. One tune endlessly picked on his geetaar. Lyrics were just a jumble of words telling what he did that day or who he knew.. it got on my nerves, what is this doing on this list?

That's The Way Of The World by Earth, Wind & Fire
Oct 04 2025

It was ok, nothing to write home about but nothing to switch off in a hurry. Philip Bailey has a good voice but capable of more.

Tom Tom Club by Tom Tom Club
Oct 05 2025

It was assault on the ears. Rap for the under 5's. Bloody awful.

Psychocandy by The Jesus And Mary Chain
Oct 06 2025

this was awful, it sounded like it had been recorded in a tool shop. Pity because at times through the pain I thought I heard pretty decent guitar. Im not buying that people actually like it.

Dummy by Portishead
Oct 07 2025

another awful album. Tedious vocal. Was sick of it by the end.

Bluesbreakers by John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers
Oct 08 2025

brilliant album.

Low-Life by New Order
Oct 09 2025

A resounding meh, limp vocal that went nowhere.

The Age Of The Understatement by The Last Shadow Puppets
Oct 10 2025

really enjoyed this album. I had no expectations and was really pleasantly surprised.

Moondance by Van Morrison
Oct 11 2025

Loved it. Nice chilled album for first thing in the morning with nothing to rush for.

Billion Dollar Babies by Alice Cooper
Oct 12 2025

great album. You really cant dislike Alice Cooper. Great showman.

Oct 13 2025

drab and irritatingly boring. wanted to strangle the singer. some great reviews!

Oct 15 2025

bland background noise to start with. Then became increasingly irritating. Not a fan

L'Eau Rouge by The Young Gods
Oct 16 2025

It was odd. The first track was l'orrible, an accordion???? I could just picture a metal band in stripey t.shirts and berets. Didnt do it for me. It picked up from there, vocal was pretty good, even if it was in french. However the whole album lacked a decent drum. Finally heard a drum towards the end, pity they didnt have drumsticks. It wasnt that bad but I disagree that its a masterpiece. They have better tracks.

Bad Company by Bad Company
Oct 17 2025

Not their best album. It wasnt varied enough. Having said that I could listen to Paul Rogers voice all day (maybe). Bak in the day he was referred to as sex on wax.

Coat Of Many Colors by Dolly Parton
Oct 18 2025

Not my cup of tea, but she writes a good song. She is what she is and thats ok. Guilty pleasure this was

The Hour Of Bewilderbeast by Badly Drawn Boy
Oct 19 2025

I didnt know what to expect. Very pleasantly surprised, enjoyed it a lot. First track was crap, rest was fine.

Vanishing Point by Primal Scream
Oct 20 2025

was expecting something a lot heavier, more metal with a name like Primal Scream, instead met with this wishy washy lot of noise. It picked up in places then went back to the noises. Disappointed

Sea Change by Beck
Oct 21 2025

It was just inoffensive background noise, nothing special

Oct 22 2025

bland 80's pop. Didnt care for it at the time, still dont. Didnt switch off but sort of stopped actively listening last few tracks. Meh

Green Onions by Booker T. & The MG's
Oct 25 2025

It was all good fun, not keen on the organ sounds, kept waiting for it to launch into Oh I do like to be beside the seaside. It was all very holiday camp or morning cinema coming up through the floor.

Mr. Tambourine Man by The Byrds
Oct 27 2025

It was ok, nothing very original about it, could hear vocals striving to be Bob Dylan at times. One song sounded remarkably like very early Who, another like Nights in white satin and some tracks made me think thats what the Beatles would sound like if they could play their instruments properly and got a decent vocalist. some of it jolly background noise.

The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Oct 28 2025

got through 6 tracks, dont know how. What a load of bilge. Lived up to the title, chronic indeed.

The Poet by Bobby Womack
Oct 29 2025

nothing special about it but equally nothing bad about it, could have been any one of the soft soul artists, Quincey Jones etc. Smooth background noise, sounds better now Im older.

Rid Of Me by PJ Harvey
Oct 30 2025

wasnt keen, the drumming was diabolical it sounded like a kid with knitting needles on the furniture. She tried bless her

Blur by Blur
Nov 01 2025

opening track was truly awful and I felt disappointed, I had somehow expected more. However it rapidly perked up and each track seemed better than the one before. Bitter disappointment averted

Fuzzy by Grant Lee Buffalo
Nov 02 2025

it was alright! Decent listen, not particularly original could hear lifts from a lot of different and fairly diverse artists.

Manassas by Stephen Stills
Nov 03 2025

some good tracks, I enjoyed it quite a lot. Evocative of better days.

Chirping Crickets by Buddy Holly & The Crickets
Nov 04 2025

bit before my time-just- all good fun, you can hear where music is going.

Dust by Screaming Trees
Nov 05 2025

As soon as I saw another 90's album I gave a sigh and thought "Mr Imagination strikes again" First track started was a bit unsure but after that every track was better than the last. Some brilliant guitars and drumming. Vocal was the weak point

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Nov 06 2025

enjoyed the nostalgia kick. Carries a lot of memories. Still dont like Mr Blue Sky but rest is classic.

Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin
Nov 08 2025

what a voice. Couldnt fault the album really only reason not 5 is because Im not that fussed on soul.

Reign In Blood by Slayer
Nov 09 2025

Some brilliant guitars and drums especially on Raining blood and Jesus saves. I could hear the sound that would become Machine Head. Loved it!

Penthouse And Pavement by Heaven 17
Nov 10 2025

Is it nearly finished yet? Lyrics so bad could have been written by Paul McCartney. Soul Warfare is absolutely awful 5 minutes of repetitive shit. Followed by 4 and half minutes of more repetitive shit.

Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morissette
Nov 11 2025

horrible. Her voice is off pitch and grated on every nerve.

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Nov 12 2025

flawless. I love this album, have for a long time.

What's Going On by Marvin Gaye
Nov 13 2025

This was boring, so bland. I really had expected more from such a name. Pretty crap.

Nov 14 2025

wasnt too bad but having said that wasnt too good either. Guitar needed tuning and guitarist needed some lessons.

Live! by Fela Kuti
Nov 15 2025

I thought this would be amazing, African drums and Ginger Baker, What a disappointment. It was boring from beginning to end, Drum solo could have been, and should have been awesome but it just went on and on, never varied and no great drumming.

Catch A Fire by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Nov 16 2025

a very laid back album from Bob Marley, enjoyed it a lot but wouldnt say I needed a listen before I died.

The Predator by Ice Cube
Nov 17 2025

the skill of him to wrap annoying, irritating and boring into 1 album. It hurt my head.

Raw Power by The Stooges
Nov 18 2025

Enjoyed it a lot, evocative of great days past. Some really good tracks and guitar.

Pink Flag by Wire
Nov 19 2025

it was ok I suppose, nothing great. Im not a fan of the pseudo london punk accent. It only worked for the Clash. Didnt turn it off but wished it had finished a couple of times

What's That Noise? by Coldcut
Nov 20 2025

I dont know what I was listening to, it was half an hour of noise. Not very pleasant at all. Turned it off.

Nov 21 2025

Didnt do anything for me, I just cant get away with the vocal style makes this rather tame punk all sound the same. Some good guitar and passable drumming but the rest wasnt good. Joe Strummer and Mick Jones they aint.

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Nov 22 2025

it was awful. Some good music on their and talented musicians then that soppy flat monotone starts and ruins the lot. I hate his voice and anyone who says they like this sort of crap is just too scared to say they dont

GI by Germs
Nov 23 2025

Americans trying to be british punk, it failed. The drums were absolute shit, sounded like a kid banging on a tin beyond comprehension why it was allowed on there. Vocal was just annoying. Guitar was nearly good in places

Sister by Sonic Youth
Nov 24 2025

it was just boring, nothing to it just dull,

Fred Neil by Fred Neil
Nov 27 2025

He has a fine voice but not suited for this type of music, it would be better suited to a west end show or a cabaret. Album was a bit tedious because of the style.

I See You by The xx
Nov 28 2025

it was dull from beginning to end, vocal was suitable only for John Lewis christmas ad is was that bad

Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Nov 29 2025

After a string of dull boring albums oh god yes! absolute masterpiece of an album, Great way to start the day.

Nov 30 2025

some great guitars vocal a bit naff in places, 2 tracks were just downright awful. Enjoyed it a lot overall but couldnt shake the feeling Corey Taylor would have done it better

Youth And Young Manhood by Kings of Leon
Dec 01 2025

It was alright, nothing amazing but nothing really bad. It was average. If The Waltons formed a band, this would be it.

Dec 02 2025

It was awful, she has a pretty voice if she cared to sing rather than that ceaseless whatever it is. It was annoying and irritating. I dont understand how people can say they like it.

1989 by Taylor Swift
Dec 03 2025

benign Fluffy pop for little girls. No clue why its on the list.

Kollaps by Einstürzende Neubauten
Dec 04 2025

I really dont have the words to describe this. It was noise, a lot of noise. However towards the end it didnt sound as bad. One of the tracks I nearly enjoyed. It was crap but better than some of the crap this exercise has thrown up.

Don't Stand Me Down by Dexys Midnight Runners
Dec 05 2025

It was ok, not really what I expected but it grew on me the more I heard.

The Yes Album by Yes

Not their best album but its still a decent listen if youre in the mood.

New Wave by The Auteurs
Dec 07 2025

wasnt fussed.

The Message by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
Dec 08 2025

it was so boring I forgot it was on.

Moon Safari by Air
Dec 09 2025

Started off really well. I was expecting something a bit more...well, french. Sadly it didnt hold up the vocal was awful which was a shame, with a better vocal it would have been really good.

Lam Toro by Baaba Maal
Dec 11 2025

I was hoping for better even though I didnt know what to expect, it wasnt bad.

Pyromania by Def Leppard
Dec 12 2025

all good cheesy fun. Very easy to listen to , some brilliant guitar too.

Aftermath by The Rolling Stones
Dec 13 2025

Not the best Stones album but you can hear it getting there on some tracks. Too many tracks were too poppy/60's jingle-jangle. Shame paint it black wasn't on it, that was their pinnacle in the earlier 60's.

Tical by Method Man
Dec 14 2025

didnt like it. Drum machine was unbelievably irritating. It never changed just ticked away in the background I only lasted 6 tracks.

Buena Vista Social Club by Buena Vista Social Club

not my thing at all. not an altogether unpleasant background noise. Wouldnt listen again

Bert Jansch by Bert Jansch
Dec 17 2025

so dull I cant remember what it was.

Live / Dead by Grateful Dead
Dec 18 2025

I was never really a dead head, I dont have the attention span. No denying Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir? could play. A live album doesnt show the best of them. Thankfully it wasnt the gig with the 46 minute solo. Not too bad but jazz not really my forte

Roots by Sepultura
Dec 19 2025

A band I'd heard of but never really heard. I am so late to the party here, loved everything about it.

3 Feet High and Rising by De La Soul
Dec 20 2025

Not what I was expecting. Started off ok-ish but there was whistling so 0 stars for that alone.

Be by Common
Dec 22 2025

I cant remember what it sounded like I know first track sounded like a gameboy game. I didnt listen to it all, theres a limit to this speech impaired nonsense that I can listen to.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Dec 23 2025

was a fairly good album. Not his biggest fan though

Loveless by My Bloody Valentine
Dec 24 2025

didnt really like it. It sounded as if it was being played on an old 1960's record player, too much treble not enough bass. It was a racket.

Butterfly by Mariah Carey
Dec 28 2025

I turned it off less than halfway through. Her high pitched oooh and eeee and aaahh's were getting on my nerves. She just needed to shut up. Didnt like it at all

E.V.O.L. by Sonic Youth
Dec 29 2025

again? Just noise, why this is a must hear album is well beyond me.

...And Justice For All by Metallica
Dec 30 2025

Not their best album but its a great listen some classic tracks.

Odelay by Beck
Dec 31 2025

turned it off when the whistling started. There was no need.

Back to Basics by Christina Aguilera
Jan 01 2026

pretty awful, just moans and groans with asthma I turned it off as couldnt face over an hour of it.

Future Days by Can
Jan 02 2026

It was ok a bit of decent drumming in there but tracks too long

The Undertones by The Undertones
Jan 04 2026

pop punk at best, great for kids finding their musical feet as it were. Lacks the anger to be effecive punk. pleasant enough ditties I suppose.

Want Two by Rufus Wainwright
Jan 05 2026

Srarted with a haunting song..for about a minute. From then on it deteriorated track by track into a series of whiney dirges. Pretty awful

Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Jan 06 2026

Not my thing at all, he had a fine "crooning "voice and my mother loved him. I was sick of it by the end but it was what it was and a lot better than some of the crap on here.

Rust In Peace by Megadeth
Jan 07 2026

I waspretty much a Megadeth virgin in that Id never listened to an album, they were just on as a track here and there. Oh have I missed out. Late to the party but I loved it.

Arular by M.I.A.
Jan 08 2026

utter bilge, turned it off

Bright Flight by Silver Jews
Jan 09 2026

didnt know what to make of it. it was on in the background didnt really inspire me to listen properly, it was a bit dull but managed to stick it out.

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Jan 10 2026

I managed it all and was reminded of Morecambe and Wise with Andre Previn "He's playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order" Jazz really isnt my thing.

Superfuzz Bigmuff by Mudhoney
Jan 11 2026

it wasnt anything really special. Wasnt a fan of the vocal, where it was good it was very good, decent drummer, some great guitar. However where it was bad it was utter crap.

Jan 12 2026

sounds like he swallowed a cheese grater. Really not my thing. I dont understand jazz.

it was a really pleasant listen not at all what I was expecting, I was sort of The Eagles hits played by the Salvation Army or something but no it was a really nice sound.

Black Monk Time by The Monks
Jan 15 2026

Really enjoyed this album, ahead of its time

Another Green World by Brian Eno
Jan 16 2026

No doubting Enos talent as a musician and producer but this was just dull, it wasnt awful just really boring

Hot Rats by Frank Zappa
Jan 17 2026

Jazz isnt my thing at all but Zappa makes it my thing. I know this album of old but enjoyed it more this time. Not a 5 cos I didnt like the beginning of little umbrellas

21 by Adele
Jan 18 2026

I didnt enjoy it. I managed 5 tracks of it or was it just one long one? It was boring and I cant explain it but there was something very unpleasant about it.

Liquid Swords by GZA
Jan 19 2026

I didnt enjoy it. Way too much of this on the list.

Home Is Where The Music Is by Hugh Masekela
Jan 20 2026

He's obviously a very skilled musician but god is he boring, music's answer to Frank Pickle.

Forever Changes by Love
Jan 21 2026

enjoyed it a lot, some surprisingly good guitar.

Os Mutantes by Os Mutantes
Jan 22 2026

enjoyed it a lot surprisingly. In places sounded ahead of its time. Very unusual and a bit off the wall but I liked it

Rhythm Nation 1814 by Janet Jackson
Jan 23 2026

it was ok. It literally faded to muzak in my head. A couple of tracks were better than most but no real standout.

Music in Exile by Songhoy Blues
Jan 25 2026

Whatever I was expecting it wasnt this. It was brilliant, some good guitar in there. I didnt understand a word but was singing along anyway.

Solid Air by John Martyn
Jan 26 2026

it was ok not much better than that, It would have been better if he had stopped slapping the guitar.

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
Jan 27 2026

what a horrible voice. I sort of got used to it and it faded to mild dislike until something about wearing a ring played and it was bloody awful I had to turn it off.

Phrenology by The Roots
Jan 28 2026

headache inducing, how people can like this stuff is way beyond me. I think as a genre its over represented on this list. I seem to get this crap at least once a week

Sunshine Superman by Donovan
Jan 29 2026

It wasnt great, I seem to remember Donovan being better than this. Couple of good tracks but generally a bit meh

Jan 30 2026

easy listening, not really my thing but was ok as background noise.

Jan 31 2026

I didnt like it live, his oww's really started to irritate. I suspect I might have quite enjoyed it if it had been an ordinary album

Scott 4 by Scott Walker
Feb 01 2026

His voice isn't suited to this sort of music. Can't deny strong good voice. More suited to stage musicals.

OK Computer by Radiohead
Feb 03 2026

I think it's only fair to rate it in the middle. I didn't listen to it all what I did hear was meh at best. Rest could have been brilliant guess I'll never know

Feb 04 2026

Again didn't listen to all of it. They are ok not a great fan of Jim Kerrs voice but it's of the time

Teenager Of The Year by Frank Black
Feb 05 2026

again in the middle, didnt get to listen to it all. Its possible the bit I didnt hear was the better bit

It was crap! Just a noise that as the album went on it got more and more on my nerves

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Feb 07 2026

I enjoyed it a lot. All good fun.

Freak Out! by The Mothers Of Invention
Feb 08 2026

really good listen . Dry and satirical, some really good lyrics.

Rum Sodomy & The Lash by The Pogues
Feb 09 2026

I quite enjoyed a fair few of the tracks. I was surprised because as a rule I hate tin whistles. Some tracks were a bit crap especially the dirge with the female singer. Nevertheless it wasnt half bad.

Low by David Bowie
Feb 10 2026

What can you say? Its Bowie. Flawless as usual and its not even his best.

Come Find Yourself by Fun Lovin' Criminals
Feb 11 2026

there was some promising guitar and some passable instrumental then it was all ruined when he opened his gob to "sing". all round shite

One World by John Martyn
Feb 12 2026

I didnt enjoy it at all.

Vento De Maio by Elis Regina
Feb 13 2026

It was nothing special, just very average easy listening that my dad would have liked.

Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake
Feb 14 2026

miserable dirge, every track sounded the same, whining self indulgent misery, well the 4 tracks I managed to bear.

The Slim Shady LP by Eminem
Feb 15 2026

I dont get this sort of stuff at all. I turned it off.

There's A Riot Goin' On by Sly & The Family Stone
Feb 16 2026

just faded to the edge of my hearing, background noise very uninteresting.

Queens of the Stone Age by Queens Of The Stone Age

New York Dolls by New York Dolls
Feb 18 2026

all good fun, ahead of their time. A good listen

Orbital 2 by Orbital
Feb 19 2026

It was just a load of irritating noises. I did not enjoy it one little bit.

Tigermilk by Belle & Sebastian
Feb 20 2026

When it started I thought oh no a dirge but the track picked up and I really enjoyed it. Next few tracks were really enjoyable too in a waterboys sort of way. Then it slowly went downhill and by the end Id had enough. Pleasant surprise though

Time Out by The Dave Brubeck Quartet
Feb 21 2026

I dont like jazz. It hurts my head. All the right notes not necessarily in the right order. Sit a dozen chimps in an orchestra pit and you will get jazz

Feb 24 2026

If Lindor chocolate truffles could sing they would sound like this. I really wasn't expecting to like this album so much, especially a live album. He had me singing along with him and the audience despite not knowing the song or the words until he prompted us all. Great time!

The Holy Bible by Manic Street Preachers
Feb 25 2026

nothing bad about its just not very good. It got a bit boring towards the end.

The Downward Spiral by Nine Inch Nails
Feb 27 2026

It was ok, I like his voice and theres some really good guitars, it was too long I got bored of the angst.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Feb 28 2026

I found it compelling from the first track, it reminded me of something but I dont know what. Dreamlike and almost surreal- did someone spike my coffee-. I enjoyed it but got a little sick of it towards the end.

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Mar 01 2026

enjoyed it I mean whats not to like about Lets get it on. Soulful blues or bluesy soul, whatever it is I liked it.

Joan Baez by Joan Baez
Mar 02 2026

She has got far better stuff out there! This album was bloody awful, her voice was way too shrill. It hurt my ears and my head. Got on my nerves so much I wanted to hurt something.

Mar 03 2026

Oh no not yet another rap/hip hop or whatever its called. However...I thought this was a parody it was so silly. High blood pressure and having to watch cholesterol. If it wasnt a parody it was laughably bad, if it was it sort of missed. Either way wasnt good but I did keep it on which is unusual for me with rap.

Mar 04 2026

George Michael was a very talented songwriter and he had a beautifully powerful voice at times. His Freddie Mercury tribute singing Somebody to love showed that. However this album was so gloomy and slow I didnt really enjoy it much.

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
Mar 05 2026

22 minutes of autobahn was overkill and I was braindead before the end of it. A 3 minute version is fine. All of the tracks would have been ok if they didnt drone on for so long. They should be short and sweet. Bill Bailey did it better. Best thing about this album was it wasnt Jean Michel Jarre

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Mar 06 2026

I quite enjoyed it in places, a few good tracks a few not so good. Ive never been a great fn of David Byrnes voice but it was ok.

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Mar 07 2026

Why is this album on the list? Theres already been Radiohead and far better than this maudlin whining. It could have been better at first I thought it was potentionally dark and atmospheric but it wasnt, just whining

Diamond Life by Sade
Mar 08 2026

I like Sade, Lovely sultry voice and really classy slick production. Shame it all sounds the same after a while. I enjoyed it though.

Go Girl Crazy by The Dictators
Mar 09 2026

I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would, its fun and doesnt take itself seriously. Lacks anger to be defined as punk, cheesy rock.

Parklife by Blur
Mar 10 2026

Not a bad album but that pseudo London/home counties accent is so irritating.

White Blood Cells by The White Stripes
Mar 14 2026

I enjoyed this, love the vocal and some blistering guitar. Drums on one track in particular sounded like a skiffle band. Ditch the person banging the drum and get a drummer . Otherwise good album.

Elastica by Elastica
Mar 15 2026

I didnt listen to it all, couldnt muster the enthusiasm. Unfair to judge it so split it in the middle

Mar 16 2026

sounded over produced and a waste of some good talent. Album would have been better without Brian Eno

Tea for the Tillerman by Cat Stevens
Mar 19 2026

I loved this album back in the 70's. Its a bit gloomier than I remember or maybe tastes move on but I loved hearing it again, wonderful songwriter.

Apr 10 2026

Gasoline Alley by Rod Stewart
Apr 11 2026

it was ok, Rod Atewart has done better stuff. The guitar was awful

Buffalo Springfield Again by Buffalo Springfield
Apr 19 2026

I enjoyed this, half of CSN&Y isnt going to be bad though is it?

S.F. Sorrow by The Pretty Things
Apr 20 2026

poor mans kinks to start with. Ray davies without the talent. It should have been good but it became a bit banal late 60's pop trying to stay relevant.

Fleet Foxes by Fleet Foxes
Apr 21 2026

American folk? I was expecting CCR meets Poco but got this bland drivel, it very quickly became background noise. It had no real saving graces.

Duck Rock by Malcolm McLaren
Apr 23 2026

I listened to the first few tracks and turned it off.

Morrison Hotel by The Doors
Apr 24 2026

May 08 2026

This album was utter genius when it first came out. It stands up to the test of time. Its brilliant!

Dire Straits by Dire Straits
May 09 2026

nothing special about it. Sultans of swing was new at the time different from anything before it. However when every other tune afterwards sounds the same it gets a bit dull.

Close To You by Carpenters
May 11 2026

she has a lovely voice but thats it. Too sweet and sugary to enjoy.

Southern Rock Opera by Drive-By Truckers
May 12 2026

fan boy Lynryd Skynyrd but not done very well. It was too long and was bored by the end of disc 1.

Pictures At An Exhibition by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
May 13 2026

Not the best album theyve done, but that might just be me because I love the song losing my religion which was on Out of Time. Thoroughly enjoyed hearing this again.

So by Peter Gabriel
May 20 2026

love Peter Gabriels voice. He's done better albums namely his first solo album and his third. This didnt really stand the test of time but I still love it

The Stranger by Billy Joel
May 21 2026

a bit naff, he should stick to writing songs. He whistled on two tracks!! was there any need? ruined an otherwise mediocre album.

May 22 2026

The Healer by John Lee Hooker
May 30 2026

Enjoyed this a lot, didnt care for the track with Bonnie Raitt.

May 31 2026

Jun 02 2026

That woman cannot sing. Some good guitar in places but the vocal..please woman..

Jun 03 2026

There were some wonderful drums in places but way too much brass for me. A bit too long.

Jun 04 2026

It was a good listen. They were never brilliant but theyre do what they do well

Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Jun 07 2026

Modern Kosmology by Jane Weaver
Jun 09 2026

This started off really well with some drumming, settled down for a decent listen, then that awful, high pitched irritating annoying voice. It grated from the first note and gradually got into every nerve, I had to turn it off before I killed something. Horrendous album

Infected by The The
Jun 10 2026

I forgot it was on just a bit nothing

The Madcap Laughs by Syd Barrett
Jun 11 2026

I found it hard to be objective. It hasnt dated well and the tracks needed Floyds music. Piper at the gates of Dawn was Syd Barrett at his best his lyrics Roger Waters et al music. All tracks were capable of being See Emily Play with the right music/production.

Jun 12 2026

It was harmless enough. Absolute rubbish song writing, my parents loved this sort of stuff, I remembered some of the songs all this time later.

En-Tact by The Shamen
Jun 13 2026

oh but it was boring. It all sounded the same and went on forever.

Copper Blue by Sugar
Jun 15 2026

Made In Japan by Deep Purple
Jun 23 2026

what a gig! A live album shouldnt really be on the list

Unknown Pleasures by Joy Division
Jun 24 2026

It was so nothing, I forgot it was on and it chuntered away almost to itself. Couldnt tell you much about it.

Technique by New Order
Jun 29 2026

A bit bland, vocal sounded off key and there should be a law banning the abomination that is the drum machine. Other than that it was just about ok.

Clandestino by Manu Chao
Jun 30 2026

enjoyed the Tijuana bits but it went downhill quickly.

Suicide by Suicide
Jul 01 2026

this was boring, why its on this list is beyond me.

Kid A by Radiohead
Jul 03 2026

It was dire.

The Sounds Of India by Ravi Shankar
Jul 04 2026

I found the individual tracks a bit too long without enough variation to keep it engaging. Wasnt bad.

Traffic by Traffic
Jul 05 2026

great album, Not their best either. Steve Winwood had a great voice for his age.

Basket of Light by Pentangle

Risque by CHIC
Jul 09 2026

Jul 10 2026

what an album! You can hear the inspiration

Nowhere by Ride
Jul 11 2026

not for me, it was headache inducing

Tarkus by Emerson, Lake & Palmer
Jul 14 2026

It is a very much "of the time" record and hasnr dated well, a 20 minute track as an opener is off putting. I always thought Keith Emmerson was a show off.

Getz/Gilberto by Stan Getz
Jul 16 2026

no. wasnt for me at all.

Graceland by Paul Simon
Jul 17 2026

pretentious poo. It would probably have sounded better if Paul Simon took his head out of his arse when he was singing.

Tago Mago by Can

Jul 21 2026

Murmur by R.E.M.
Jul 23 2026

It was really ok. I enjoyed it.

Walking Wounded by Everything But The Girl
Jul 24 2026

It was very bland, I kept waiting for it to pick up a bit but it didnt. At all! I couldnt get past the girl looking like Nicolas Lyndhurst in drag and was half expecting/hoping for? the theme to only fools and horses.

Blunderbuss by Jack White
Jul 25 2026

. It wasn't bad, the different styles left me confused. I assume there were different drummers used on some tracks. There was one bloody skiffle drum that never changed throughout most of the album, spoiled potentially good tracks. I prefer White Stripes sound wise (except the drums). But then again what would I know, Im just a frightened boomer.

Life's Too Good by The Sugarcubes
Jul 26 2026

I wasnt sure what to expect but I was more than pleasantly surprised. Some brilliant instrumental, some great guitar and drumming. Bjorks voice doesnt really do it for me but it wasnt the "Icelandic Yoko Ono" I I was expecting. Reminded me of Lena Lovitch in places. All in all not bad at all.

Made me wish I was a teenager and filled with rebellion again. My generation really missed out.

well..it wasnt what I was expecting. It wasnt my cup of tea but I couldnt in all honesty say it was that bad. I fail to see why its on this list though.

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Jul 29 2026

This was a first for me, I didnt switch it off. It wasnt good I think it must be an age thing but I just dont get it, there seems to be no talent involved, if there is I dont know where its supposed to be. "beats" evidently which I assume were the rhyming couplets they chuntered, reminded me of school po-et-ry. Didnt really enjoy.

Merriweather Post Pavilion by Animal Collective
Jul 30 2026

It started off pretty well, echoes of early genesis with a touch of very early Yes. Then the noises started, I couldn't see the point of it. Despite the "experimental" noises it wasnt bad. It wasnt particularly good either it was a resounding ok. Needed a direction

Sound Affects by The Jam
Jul 31 2026

Very meh. I dont like The Jam and Paul Weller, he's a legend in his own imagination. So saying I didnt turn it off, I hurried a few tracks along but heard bits of it all.

Heroes to Zeros by The Beta Band
Aug 01 2026

it wasnt bad i suppose, if it had been Id have remembered. As it was I have totally forgotten it.

Aug 02 2026

Boy In Da Corner by Dizzee Rascal
Aug 05 2026

I just dont get it! Wheres the talent? Theres no music no singing. Its crap

The Next Day by David Bowie
Aug 06 2026

I had never heard of this album. I enjoyed it a lot, It was dark even gloomy in places and I loved it. Bowie's song writing is brilliant whatever mood he's in. I listened twice and liked it better second time. Its not my favourite Bowie phase if you like but loved it.

Aug 07 2026

I always cringe when a band is described as american punk. Its usually pretty crap with a horrible affected accent with the vocal. This was not what I expected at all, There was some great guitar and very decent drumming. Vocal was a bit crap. I enjoyed the album so really good songs on it. Too long I was starting to get bored towards the end.

White Light / White Heat by The Velvet Underground
Aug 08 2026

overall it was pretty crap. was hard work to listen to.

Ten by Pearl Jam
Aug 09 2026

The Cars by The Cars
Aug 10 2026

It was really ok. Some good guitar in there. However it was very samey and a little bland.

1977 by Ash
Aug 11 2026

some beautiful plaintive guitar. This album started strong, decent opening track, then it slowly went into meh-ness. Guitar saved the album, guitarist is wasted.

I found it dull and a bit dreary at times. It wasnt horrendous or anything I mean he can sing but no its not for me.

Aug 13 2026

Dare! by The Human League
Aug 14 2026

Phil Oakey cannot sing at all. Dull monotone didn't particularly enjoy it

At Fillmore East by The Allman Brothers Band
Aug 15 2026

cannot fault Duane Allmans guitar, arguably one of the best of the time. Its not exactly my taste its a bit jazzy with blues thrown in. Was a decent listen.

Who's Next by The Who
Aug 16 2026

This is not the version that's on the list. Its the original version is the one. Makes me wonder what else they've fiddled. Nevertheless a brilliant album, cant begin to pick a favourite track. Its brilliant stuff from first note to the last.

A Northern Soul by The Verve
Aug 17 2026

It wasn't bad, wasnt particularly good either. I listened, didnt turn it off it got a bit boring towards the end
