Deloused in the Comatorium
The Mars VoltaAlmost enjoyable. Talented musicians. Hated the lead guitar tone. Needed to let songs breath more often instead of cramming 100 notes in a measure
Almost enjoyable. Talented musicians. Hated the lead guitar tone. Needed to let songs breath more often instead of cramming 100 notes in a measure
2.5 never really got the hype around the stones. Sure they have some great hits, but I’ve never listened to a whole album so I assumed I was just missing something. This album didn’t do much to change my opinion, in fact it probably hurt more than helped. This album wasn’t bad but it was boring. 90% sounded the exact same throughout and there wasn’t a single song that stood out. How people can say they’re even in the same conversation as the Beatles still blows my mind
3.5 best look good on the dance floor
3.5 blue suede shoes is banger
Pretty same-y sounding. Not a lot of variety. Mixing wasn’t great
2.5 it exists
Started off strong then really took a dive. Almost unlistenable by the end
Almost enjoyable. Talented musicians. Hated the lead guitar tone. Needed to let songs breath more often instead of cramming 100 notes in a measure
3.5 mostly good not great
Tough album to rate. Very unique and creative but nothing really stood out. Some could make cool soundtracks
2.5 rom-com of albums
4.5 great album except that car song
1.5 Mostly just creepy noise. Kuntz and ussa were almost ok. Don’t really care to listen again
3.5 good all around. Nothing great but nothing bad
4.5 three masterpieces alongside 4 good songs
2.5
Started slow got better during end. Buckingham songs were highlight
4.5 Love this album just not zeppelins best
Not really my genre but I kinda liked it. 7 seas, and Billy’s one stop highlights
3.5 side a was alright with Heroes being a great song. Side B was much more enjoyable. The soundscapes were good v-2 Schneider being the highlight
2.5 nothing about this album is fine art but it is a fun album
There were some good songs but also some that were a bore
3.5
3.5 it was pretty good. The songs that had more instruments than just drums were much better. The ones that didn’t felt very empty
Enjoyed it. Great for long drives
3.5 even though it’s not my favorite genre I can still recognize it’s a good album that I enjoyed for the most part. Standout songs were “Real People”, “They Say”, and “Be(intro)”. However there were some poor songs with “Faithful” being borderline terrible. Who thought the Alvin and the Chipmunks backup vocals were a good idea
Excellent vocal work too bad all of the songs were pretty boring
Sounded like a soundtrack to 1080 or SSX Tricky
Start of the album full of great songs and then the second half jam session got pretty boring
3 the songs were enjoyable but they were way too long without much if any changes
2.5 kinda cool gloomy moods. Overall a little boring. Interzone, I remember nothing, and she’s lost control highlights
2-is this an album I’ll ever listen to again, probably not. But I did feel like this album had a vision and executed it. It took me on a journey through an analog horror film
The album is not good, there’s nothing special about the music and the lyrics are laughable. But there’s something to Bawitdaba and cowboy. They aren’t great songs but they are catchy so I have to give this album some credit
3.5 Holes, Goddess on a hiway, and opus 40 were all great songs. The rest of the album however weren’t as stellar got a little busy
4 great album. Some the the first songs were just ok
Cool deep voice but mostly boring
3.5 Good album throughout nothing too amazing
3.5 bold as love absolutely cranks
2.5 the title track was the only song that stuck with me
This album sounded like 6 different albums in one and none was particularly good
2.5 her voice is great and the sound quality is phenomenal but it just seems to be trying too much
3.5
3.5 good songs but sometimes the production went a bit over board and came off as cheesy
Once in a lifetime and great curve only standouts
Odd selection for this list. I feel I can’t accurately judge a live album the same as a studio album because it’s essentially just a greatest hits. So I guess I’ll judge it on performance instead of composition. Motörhead is Motörhead. Simple songs to thrash to and that’s exactly what this was. However I feel like the sound quality of the album couldn’t adequately replicate the feeling of being at a Motörhead show.
Not a huge country guy but this album was special. The lyrics were great and I loved the protest message.
2.5 mostly lame old crooning Elvis with some bangers sprinkled in
2.5 a bunch of non-offensive pop songs that are plagued by over production
4.5 almost perfect lost me a little towards the end
3.5 no denying that Aretha has a great voice but besides “respect” there weren’t any other songs with staying power
The 2 hits on this album are great songs. The rest however is not. Half the time she is singing beautifully and then the other half she uses this awful baby voice that is unlistenable
3.5 enjoyable album to listen to as a whole. I wouldn’t say any single song stands out on its own but the album as a whole is good
Removing the art from the artist this was a decent album. Had great energy and a few really good songs. But Mr Manson is a scumbag
Hotel California and life in the fast lane speak for themselves. The rest of the album was just some great easy listening
1.5 Besides bittersweet symphony this album was a snooze fest. Every song was the same tempo with the same lackadaisical feel to them. Every song was entirely way too long with little to no variety. And don’t even get me started on the singer’s awful sheep voice
1.5 welcome to the cock smash
5 a beautifully haunting folk masterpiece
2.5 inoffensive don’t feel strongly either way
3 it was good but far from his best
2 this was one weird album. Very repetitive and the songs were way too long
3.5 loved the lyrics. Great ability to paint a picture of the problems she faces. The instrumentals are ok nothing great
3.5 the big three hits are great songs but the the only other songs that grabbed me were she’s electric and morning glory
2 Really hard album to rate. Waterfalls is a great song and switch and diggin on you are good. Then the rest are boring overly horny repetitive filler. But within the filler there is some really great funky bass lines that get completely overshadowed by how bad the rest of the song is. And then there’s the awful interludes sprinkled through the album. Waterfalls alone isn’t enough to save the album
3 decent album. Highlights were pale blue eyes and after hours. Most song however were just a little too long
4.5 chock full of bangers
2 nothing really stuck with me. Was mostly ok crooning lounge-y songs
3 odd choice for Bowie but I thought most the album was good. Nothing groundbreaking
3 everyone was hating on this but it was alright. Yes the lyrics were repetitive but at least there was variation in the music
2 ehh it’s ok. I enjoy some metal but none of the songs stuck out. The drums however were awesome
4 some really great songs with some ok blues/rock n roll songs sprinkled between
2.5 sitars is cool
3 decent album but not a huge fan of the vocals
2.5 I liked the weirdness of it but most the songs seemed to lose their way at points
3 decent just worse early Beatles
0.5 no one with this thick a British accent should be allowed to rap
4 really liked the variety and weirdness of this. It’s like the sex pistols but with talent
3.5 what you’d expect from bob Dylan
2.5 it was ok. Kinda of like a discount less experimental Frank Zappa
3 decent 60s pop album
4 really good album. Just put me in good mood. Kinda like pop punk meets new-wave
4 really good album with killer keyboards. Sometimes leaned a bit too heavy into the psychedelic side
3.5 some really good songs and musicianship. They could have cut some of the filler songs to make a better album
3 good album with a lot of energy. Just wish there were more/better vocal parts
3 everything was ok. Nothing to hate. Sounded like Wayne
5 perfect album
3 it was an okay album but too many collaborations detracted from the true feel of the blues. However rockin chair and no substitute brought the classic feel and were great
3.5 good album. Can definitely see how this album went on to influence punk. High energy and dirty
4 yeah they all sound the same but it’s still good
3 overly produced and I absolutely hated the vocal effect they used every song. But with all that they still wrote some catchy songs
1.5 ole elvis sure kicked up his annoying voice up a notch on this one. His aggressive vocals sounded like puddle of mudds cover of about a girl. And the rest sounded like a bad Randy Newman knock off
4 excellent blues performances, great guitar work but it sometimes got a little bit too jammy
4 phenomenal vocal performance but the album felt kinda one-notey
3 mostly an album of ok songs. Very samey sounding and way too much use of that awful over-amplified vocal filter. Unknown brother and sinister kid were the highlights.
4 enjoyed this album
2 there’s some coolness to the album but most of it is pretty weak and boring. Plus Eric Clapton sucks
2.5 kinda over the top but it was ok
0.5 just awful. Horrible mix, awful vocals
5 outta 5
3.5 lot of weird variety. Most songs were ok to pretty good with only one stinker in hung up and hanging out to dry
2 mostly forgettable generic electronic music. Only song that stood out was justified and ancient
4 really great folk/country songs. Really enjoyed Linda’s songs
3.5 wished it was more funky
3 wouldn’t consider anything a song on this album, more like spoken word with dark dissonant backing track. Still worth it to listen to but nothing on the daily playlist
1 extremely generic and boring. Also hate how she slurs all of her words
4 great stripped down album but still has a huge sound
3 there was some great songs sprinkled in and some amazing bluegrass playing but the album was way to long. By the end everything blended together and I got serious fatigue
3.5 liked the country flair of the mandolins and the classical interludes. Maggie Mae is great
3 an enjoyable 15 minutes
2 pretty boring only good song is California dreaming. I feel like this what what parents of hippies wanted their kids to listen to
2.5
3 for my personally tastes the songs are bit slow and sappy but it’s a fantastically made album
4
1.5 I’m sure there’s probably some very important lyrics on this album but as always lyrics don’t mean that much to me. The music matters so much more and it’s awful on this album. Every song is literally a 2 measure beat that loops for the entirety of the song
3.5 pretty good reggae
3.5 cool experimental songs felt fantastical
2.5 funny spooky Halloween vibes but probably wouldn’t listen to again
2 I didn’t really enjoy it. Just a lot of noise and poor vocals. Only kinda ok song was cinderellas big score
4 ya like jazz
2 the title track is the only good song. New wave just ain’t very good
3.5 funky bass lines killer vocals but most the songs were just good. Expected more from Michael
3.5 probably my favorite electronic album so far. It still has the same problem all electronic albums have but to a lesser degree, too much repetition
2.5 kinda boring
2 didn’t resonate with me personally but I could see how others would connect with it. The vocals weren’t my favorite but they weren’t as bad as most the reviews say
2 I wouldn’t say it’s bad just super lame and cheesy
4 great album
3 pretty good
3.5 but the title track is an absolute 10/10
2.5 ok
3 unique both good and bad
2.5 yeah boi
2 droney jammy rock
4 great album
1 this some trash
3 ok album but Paul should do better
2 not great. Does way too much with any lasting impact. There were cool ideas throughout but that’s all they were. They never really came together
4 absolute classic rock album. Yeah it’s follows the AC/DC formula but it works. Do however prefer bon’s vocals to Brian’s
2.5 it’s ok. The second half was better when it leaned into more punk sounds but something about them seems off. It’s like arctic monkeys tried making a punk album
2.5 there were a couple of songs that I enjoyed but then there were some real overproduced, over fabricated stinkers
1 please I can’t take any more of this man. The music is already bland and then he goes and sings in the most annoying way possible
5 It’s a 5
3.5 really good
2 some cool things happening with this album but alas it is still boring, repetitive and entirely too long electrónica
5 jazz masterpiece
3 - I can’t believe it but this album is actually alright. His voice was much more bearable on this album (the annoying voice would still shine through occasionally) and some of the songs were actually interesting for once. Did drop a hard-R tho
2.5 it aight
3 every song was good but nothing really grabbed me
2.5 it aight. Songs are way too long and some are a jumbled mess
3 I like it
2 kinda groovy at the start and then the album starts to drag. The songs are all entirely too long and even tho they jam packed with instrumentation they somehow feel empty. I wouldn’t consider the music to be bad at all. I just kinda got bored
5 one of the most emotional, reflective, and haunting albums ever. You can feel that this is a man who is about to die and you can feel him reflecting on his life
2.5 it’s alright. I feel like their goal was to just make cool sounds rather than make good songs
3 man what a doozy. This album is both amazing and borderline unlistenable at the same time. Each song had points of genius and ten seconds later it would switch to the most comically bad song I’ve ever heard. But I still kinda enjoyed it.
3.5 pretty good
3.5 nice to listen to but all sound same-y
3 it was good
2.5 it ok
3.5 smooth and soulful
4.5 great prog
3.5 pretty good
1.5 not my favorite
4.5 Near perfect
2 not really my thing. Nothing is really a song just a story with music
2.5 it’s ok. Weird hearing the very 80s sounding spurts sneak into songs emulating 50s/60s
3.5 I liked it and Janis is great but sometimes her vocals just irritate me
2.5 really besides for Layla and and bell bottom blues there really ain’t much great about the album
2.5 decent had some good songs and some stinkers. Actually sang instead of doing that annoying baby voice most pop stars do
2 the album sounded fine but I just couldn’t wait for it to end. It’s art for arts sake made to fool hipsters
3.5 it’s good not great. Production is top notch, most the music is great but god is Mr Yorkes voice extremely annoying
2.5 it’s alright kinda weird
3.5 really ambitious, kind of lost itself a couple times but the recordings are jam packed with creative ideas
4.5 awesome jazz
2.5 besides American pie and Vincent the rest was kinda bland
2 fine but forgettable
3 good nostalgic rock n roll
4 classic blues
4 metal
3 decent disliked the vocals
3 ok far from their best
3 decent cool piano work kinda generic
3 good
2.5 ok samey sounding
3.5 Naruto fan flash
2 easy listening atmospheric but overall boring
3 ok
3 decent jazz
3 love Zappa but he goes a bit overboard with the random noises
3.5 pretty good liked the variety wish there was more energy throughout like sabotage
3 some good some bad. Some killer bass lines
3.5 pretty good
3.5 was good
3 ok but caravan was excellent
3 ok
2.5 alright
3 cool orchestra just not big on crooning
3 radiohead
3.5 good
1.5 way too 80s. Faith is the only song worth listening to
1.5 too much 80s again
5
1 bad
3.5 liked murmur better
2 it a little weird
3 pretty good really weird
4 great
3.5 easily best electronica album so far
2.5 started good but fell off a cliff after skeletons
2 punk without the energy
1.5 ok-ish nonsense with some of the worst guitar tones possible
3.5 Metallica with strings exactly what you’d expect. Can’t say they’re better than the original recordings tho
3 alright, carried by the weight and a couple others
3 theater kids
4 rips hard
5 classic
1.5 not good
3 punk
4 side a would be one of the greatest albums ever but side b is a little week
1.5 not good
3 good album little long
2.5 fine not unpleasant but boring
4 good radiohead
2 ok electronic music. Super repetitive and way too long. Very monkey ball
1 couldn’t make it through the album
4 pretty good
3 good
3.5 good
2.5 not great quality, non hit songs were boring
4.5 great prog goodness
3 Chris Cornell has one of the best voices in history but soundgarden has never been super interesting to me
2.5 not bad but every song was the same
5 mastapiece
3.5 good
2.5 weird
2 awful mix too noisy
4 pretty good
2.5 music was alright but couldn’t stand the guys voice
1.5 boring old electrónica
3.5 pretty good, cool jazzy beats
3 spooky goth rock
4.5 fantastic album
3 not bad but I’m just worn out from hearing the hits over and over again
4 love that there’s actual musical elements to the album rather than the incessant trap beats of current rap
2.5 fine electronica still to long
2.5 never really got the hype around the stones.
1 just nothing to it. Please no more soulless electronica
2.5 not great. Way too much noodling. Not even close to 21st century schizoid man
2.5 an influential album but by todays standards for metal it’s not great
3 it was ok. Reminded me of a spacey bob Dylan/dire straits. A little too samey throughout
3.5 fun album kinda like the stooges and The Rolling Stones had a baby
2 not great
4 great album
2 not his best. His voice is grating at sometimes and the music isn’t the most interesting
3 good album felt like I was playing civ
3 good
3.5 pretty good album just not something I’d listen to again
1.5 not good
3 generic dad rock
2.5 ok
3 good but don’t think punk lends itself to this much instrumental breaks
2.5 ok
3.5 good
3.5
1.5 boring
3 weird experience of an album that I’m not mad I listened to but won’t listen to again
3.5 a few great songs and and a couple that went on too long
3 thrashy
2 reminds me of early arctic monkeys/fratellis but way worse
3 mostly just alright but the cowboy song into boy are back was so good it gets an extra point
3 alright
2.5 not bad just not my thing
4 pleasantly surprised. First electrónica album I’ve enjoyed. The production was great and ghost song’s crazy droning thing hit like a truck
1.5 he has a great voice but every song is so over the top and just not fun to listen to
3 really weird but alright
3 decent
5 mastapiece
1.5 boring electrónica

2 nothing memorable besides song 2
4 not my favorite Metallica album but there’s some undeniable mega hits on this record
3.5 pretty good
4 really good
1.5 not a fan at all. Nothing felt like a song. There were no parts that grabbed me
4 great album
4 great album, loved the energy
2.5 its a fine debut, generic rock and roll.
3.5 nice brief 22 minute album. Right to the point no fluff
2.5 decent beats but nothing really resonated with me
2 same downfalls of all elecronica albums
2.5 decent songs. Not a huge fan of the mix. Pretty muddy and the vocals got completely lost at times
1.5 thought it was gonna be worse but it was till a really weird combo
0.5 couldnt make it through but i gave it some credit for creativity. Her voice was just too grating
3 decent
3 ok. The instrumentals were pretty cool but the vocals were irritating. He has Radiohead syndrome. Knights of cydonia is a banger tho
2.5 it was alright
