Picture Book
Simply RedVery 80s. The upbeat tracks especially were very fun. Stand-out: Come To My Aid
Very 80s. The upbeat tracks especially were very fun. Stand-out: Come To My Aid
I wasn't a fan of the abrupt start but the rest grew on me. Of course it did it's an awesome proggy mess. Stand-out: Aisle of Plenty
Reminded me of Oasis but less annoying. Accessible easy-to-listen pop-rock. I liked it a lot but the lyrics were so noticeably bad that I'm removing a point. Stand-out: First of the Gang to Die
The music was great, the vocals not so much. If he just shut up and let the band play I'd like it more. Sounded kinda like Guns N' Roses from lidl. Stand-out: Vambo Marble Eye
Pleasant rock music, easy to listen to. Incredible guitar work!
Very groovy, songs flow well from one another. Got a bit bored by the end.
Great start and ending, but couldn't stand the middle songs. Stand-out: Something in the way
The two singles slap, especially New Year's Day, but the second half of the album dips in quality. Nevertheless, it's ordinary U2 sound, can't go wrong with that.
After you get past the first two songs, the rest of the album is pure vibes. Stand-out: Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses
This sounds 10 years older than it actually is. Solomon Burke has a great voice, but the songs are quite repetitive and not very interesting. One More Chance is a banger though, very fun and catchy. Stand-out: Won't You give Him (One More Chance)
I liked this album more before I noticed how bad the lyrics are. Has some good songs, like Run to the Hills, and some weaker ones, like Invaders. Overall it's pleasant to listen to and has one of Iron Maiden's best songs in Hallowed Be Thy Name. Stand-out: Hallowed Be Thy Name
Not a huge fan of punk music. The instrumental part of Seen Your Video was cool. Stand-out: Unsatisfied
38 minutes of incessant screaming of the bad kind.
Bland and misogynistic, but not the worst rap I've heard.
Most of the album is mid but Purple Rain is so good I'll give the whole thing a 4. Stand-out: Purple Rain
More enjoyable than expected but not something I'd regularly listen to.
Car music. Nothing super special but I liked it. Stand-out: Make It Right
If I could give a 4.5 stars I would. Insanely good, really puts you in the zone, but a couple of mediocre songs before Man on the Moon break the immersion. Stand-outs: Drive, Find the River
Very samey and too raw for me. The best song on this album is instrumental which is saying something. Stand-out: Orion
Not soul, just bad hiphop with a whiny voice. Terrible. Couldn't finish.
I liked the faster-paced songs but the few slow ones were boring. Stand-out: Save the Life of My Child
Surprisingly good. The songs were musically interesting, experimental. Stand-out: Rabbits Dying
Not my taste.
Video game music, background atmospheric soundtrack of some large, sparse area.
Wtf was that random sex audio in the middle about. Ew.
Not bad but the songs were very similar. They all sound the same, except Home Again, which was better. Stand-out: Home Again
Quite repetitive and boring but 2nd half is calming. Stand-out: Golden Hours
Quite interesting songs, good background noise for studying. Stand-out: Beetles in the Bog
Fun listen! He is great with the crowd. Stand-out: You Done Lost Your Good Thing Now
I can appreciate the musicianship (except Stay, I didnt like that one), but the songs worked as background music for me and I couldn't get fully immersed. Stand-out: Station to Station
Amazing female vocals, but the male singer can't keep up at all and ruins it. Very interesting style of music, I liked it a lot apart from the male singer (please shut up). Stand-out: Cold Sweat
Some of these songs sounded familiar to me, but I think it's just because this kind of country music all sounds the same. Down Yonder was a fun and uplifting instrumental break amidst all the moping. I also liked the banjo in the first songs. Can I Sleep in Your Arms sounds like Red River Valley but more boring. I don't know how Willie Nelson does this but if I had a nickel for every time he took a song and made it more boring I'd have three nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happens so often. It's like his thing. Stand-out: Down Yonder
I didn't like the singer very much.
Soulful and moody, but I prefer my activism louder. Bow was a fun song, when it was listing out african countries. Stand-out: Eternal Life
The Black Keys have a very distinct sound. They do one thing and they do it well. Stand-out: The Only One
I didn't know this guy before but he sounds like milder Clash and incredibly british. The first half of the album, which was more punk, was amazing. Unfortunately the second half, which was more folk, fell off. He should sing punk, it suits him more. Stand-outs: Greetings to the New Brunette, Wishing the Days Away
Initially I thought the music was alright, even though I wasn't a fan of his singing, but the final few songs dragged on and it was quite tiring to finish the album. Stand-out: Men of Good Fortune
Very bland and forgettable. Stand-out: Someone Somewhere in Summertime
Amazing voice! Fast Car is her most famous song and I can see why, she kills it. Stand-out: For My Lover
Instrumental electronic album, the kind I call video game music. Not bad, not great either. Stand-out: Water Babies
This is my second Marvin Gaye album amd I prefer the other one. Stand-out: Keep Getting It On
Not the kind of music I like but some parts were pretty hype. Stand-out: Climbatize
Each song is so unique in this album, it is beautiful. Stevie Wonder really feels like he is having fun here. Stand-outs: All In Love Is Fair, Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing
Easy car music, she has a really nice deep voice. Stand-out: Fifty Years After the Fair
Honestly quite boring. Stand-out: Sweet Cocaine
Fun album but everything sounds the same to me. I recognised Mannish Boy - I'm sure it's on one of our car CDs. Stand-out: The Blues Had a Baby and They Named It Rock and Roll
The first song and last 3 were nice but the middle wasn't very memorable. All I Wanna Do is a bop and extremely catchy. Stand-out: All I Wanna Do
I like the motifs but it's too weird for me.
Radio music, more my brother's taste than mine. I enjoyed some songs, the rest were kind of indifferent. The last two songs go on too long, I'm knocking a point due to them. Stand-out: Pot Kettle Black
Indifferent, I can't say I particularly liked or disliked it. Stand-out: Dress
I didn't expect this to be as good as it was, considering I don't like their famous songs. The rest were way better, they should be overplayed instead. Embryonic Journey was a cool instrumental track. Stand-out: She Has Funny Cars
Mundane, unimaginative, boring, repetitive beats. Nothing redeeming whatsoever.
Very impressive and varied throughout. Stand-out: Castles Made of Sand
Yet another british punk album. It started okay but as the songs went on they became more and more annoying. Maybe they are too british. Stand-out: Instant Hit
Half of it was beachy and pleasant, the other half kind of boring. Stand-out: Chan Chan
Quite nice. The middle songs fell off a bit but beginning and ending tracks were good. Stand-out: See the Sky About to Rain
I knew I was gonna like this album when it opened with an 11min prog song with an incredible build up. The rest did not disappoint, I enjoyed it fully. Stand-outs: Funeral for a Friend, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
A too large collection of protest songs, half in German. As long as I tuned out I could tolerate them, but on closer listen I didn't like them very much. Stand-out: The Ballad of the Sackslingers
Old folk music. I quite liked it until the final three songs, which sucked, frankly. Stand-out: Mercy I Cry City
Beautiful album, especially the slower songs. I recognised Sledgehammer and Don't Give Up. Unfortunately the second half of the album was a bit worse. Stand-out: Red Rain
Uplifting orchestral music with some sparse spanish vocals. Quite enjoyable. Stand-out: Agua Limpia Todo
Brainless hard rock music but I'm here for it. Stand-out: If You Want Blood (You've Got It)
Not bad, but not my taste. Stand-out: Xica Da Silva
I only liked a single song. Stand-out: Go Go Pop
My favourite hip hop album yet. Normally I don't like this genre but this was fire. Stand-out: Faithful
Not a bad album, but One and To Live Is to Die were leagues above the rest. Stand-out: One
Very zen but wtf is up with Mother? Stand-outs: King of Pain, Synchronicity II
Similar to Oasis but less annoying. Pretty good. Stand-out: How High
Weird and kinda boring. Stand-out: I Can See For Miles
I love his voice but I will never not associate him with Christmas songs. Stand-out: You Make Me Feel So Young
I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed this album. A significant chunk of it was instrumental and occasionally got a bit heavy, but overall the mix of tracks was very impressive and makes good use of the album format. I wasn't a huge fan of the vocals though, which is why I won't give 5 stars. Stand-out: New Gods
Simple punk music with nice guitarwork. Initially it made me think that hey, maybe I like britpunk after all, but eventually the songs merged into a indiscernable blob. Stand-out: Barmy
Trashy electronic music. Hated every second I listened to until I decided to stop midway and relieve my ears.
Some sick riffs in the first few songs but the album started to break down after a while. Stand-out: Dam That River
Cosy lounge music! Some songs were instrumental, some with vocals, I liked both. As the album went on it became more upbeat. Stand-outs: Headstart for Happiness, My Ever Changing Moods,
Easy music, 3.5 stars. It was pretty samey. Stand-out: Angeles
This was very nice, much better than the few Kinks hits I knew already, and when it ended I wanted more. Stand-out: The Village Green Preservation Society
What I expected from a Paul Simon album. Very nice first half, a bit worse second half. Stand-out: Mother and Child Reunion
She has a beautiful voice and can sing, but many times I wished there was more background music to support the vocals. Stand-out: Once It Was Alright Now (Farmer Joe)
I liked the first few songs but the rest were a bit boring. Also the audio quality was crap, maybe if it was better I'd like it more. Stand-out: Trust in Me
Live version of some of their hits, extended with lengthy guitar solos. Not bad, but I would have preferred the studio versions.
I wasn't a fan of the abrupt start but the rest grew on me. Of course it did it's an awesome proggy mess. Stand-out: Aisle of Plenty
Easy pleasant driving music. I was disappointed at first but after 2-3 songs it got really good. Stand-out: Come Running
Covers of classic christmas songs by artists such as the Ronettes. Not bad but I prefer the versions of Elvis, Frank Sinatra etc. Stand-out: Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)
Cool music, unsettling vocals. Stand-out: Let Me Help
Quite good background music, not distracting. Stand-out: Ce Matin-Là
Boring electronic music.
Yet another british band. Not very memorable but had a few good songs. I think I already knew Alright. Stand-out: Strange Ones
This album was more mellow than their famous songs, and I have to say I prefer their more upbeat stuff than this. Stand-out: Slipping Through My Fingers
The singer's voice was too deep, it was kinda creepy, I didn't enjoy this very much. Stand-out: This Corrosion
The A-side was fast-paced and upbeat but then it got too sappy slow and boring. Stand-out: Alexander's Ragtime Band
Weird, calming music, nicely experimental. Stand-out: Giles Farnaby's Dream
Pretty generic, but the lyrics were distractingly bad so I'm doxking a point. Usually I don't care about lyrics but holy shit I don't give a shit how stoned hippie Johnny is or that you want a girlfriend instead of cocaine.
Old folk songs. Not bad but I get bored on a full album of these. Stand-out: Let Her Go, God Bless Her Stand-out from previous album (The Modern Lovers) that I forgot: Roadrunner
This was over the top and all over the place but kinda epic. Stand-outs: Bat out of Hell, For Crying Out Loud
It started off with regular old misogyny but by the end reached peak cringe misogyny. A Gangsta's Fairytale was funny though, I'll give him that.
Generic pop-rock. He has the ability to sing well, as heard in Angels, but the rest of the songs don't showcase it and are unmemorable. Stand-out: Angels
Honestly pretty mediocre screaming with minimal change in cadence. Stand-out: Rhymin & Stealin
Jimi Hendrix has an immediately recognisable sound, and it's very good. Stand-out: Hey Joe
This album started out promising, with cosy, moody lounge music. But then the singer just had to sing very high, even though it sounded shit. So 3 stars it gets. Stand-out: Grumpus
Very weird. Half the tracks were just unlistenable noise. I wondered if I was still listening to the same album multiple times. I would not willingly listen to this ever again but it was interesting and some tracks were alright so I'll give a 2. Stand-out: Human Cannonball
Decent background music, would work well in a large store or something. Stand-out: Why Does My Heart Feel So Bad?
Wow, the ballads here were incredible - he has a rough voice, something between Springsteen and Lemmy, which makes for some epic slow songs. Unfortunately that set a high bar and the rest of the album didn't deliver. Stand-out: Jersey Girl
I didn't even know Bowie was releasing albums so recently. I was very impressed, I can see myself listening to this again easily. I almost gave this 5* but I hated the last song. Stand-out: [You Will] Set The World On Fire
The Passenger is timeless, and all the rest of the songs that sound a bit like it are great. The remaining few I didn't like that much. Stand-out: Neighborhood Threat
Moody and quiet, well-crafted music. Long buildups leading to screamy breakdowns (most of the time). Reminded me of some mild Opeth songs. Stand-out: Washer, Breadcrumb Trail
I could listen to The Rolling Stones indefinitely and never get tired of them. 4.5 stars. Stand-out: Shine a Light
I'm sorry but her voice annoyed me. Apart from that it was unremarkable rock music.
From the few hits of theirs I knew I expected better. This was quite boring. Stand-out: In Your House
Radio rock music, not bad but very samey. I liked the singer's deep voice. Stand-out: Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks
I'd give a higher score if this album stopped at Under The Bridge. I thought it would be much more obnoxious, as I generally like RHCP in small bursts, but the first 2/3 was surprisingly enjoyable and easy to listen to. However, the whole thing was too long and they put all the bad songs at the end. Stand-out: I Could Have Lied
Going through this list makes me realise I generally like female-led punk bands. Many songs on this album were more calm and kinda groovy, I liked it. Stand-out: The Wait
Radio music, she oscillated between being good and obnoxious depending on the intensity of the song. The slower ones were generally better. I was surprised I recognised two hits here, Ironic and You Oughtta Know. Stand-out: Forgiven
Bad country music. Dull vocals, dull instrumentation. Stand-out: Let's Not and Say We Did
Pre-90s hip-hop, pretty funky and good, though the extremely edited computerized song brings it down a bit. Stand-out: She's Fresh
Zen, calm folk music, good for an upscale pretentious wine place. Stand-out: Day Is Done
This sounds at least 20-30 years older than it actually is. Her voice is great, but apart from a few songs the album was pretty unmemorable. If it was actually 50s I'd enjoy it more I think. Stand-out: Don't Let the Stars Get in Your Eyes
Cool rock music. Stand-out: Cheapskate
Queen is always fun and impressive. Stand-out: Misfire
Very 80s. The upbeat tracks especially were very fun. Stand-out: Come To My Aid
My favourite singer-songwriter album on this list so far. She has a beautiful voice and it works great on this style of folk music. Stand-out: Marlene On The Wall
This sounds way later than 60s, which is impressive. Stand-out: I'm Waiting For The Man
Piano jazz. Stand-out: Take Five
Road trip mumble rock. These singers don't enunciate at all. Stand-out: In This House That I Call Home
Unmemorable electronic music. Stand-out: Last Tango in Paris Score correction (misclick): Wild Gift - X (3*)
Nice Elvis album. A full Elvis album has the danger of getting boring but this one didn't, and side B was actually more enjoyable than side A. Stand-outs: Gentle on My Mind, Any Day Now
I like R.E.M. Stand-out: Perfect Circle
Radio music, and very good all things considered. At first I was like, ugh more punk, but it quickly grew on me. I liked the deep cuts more than the singles. Stand-out: Sunshinin
Meatloaf from lidl. Nothing particularly interesting, until it got worse as it went on. The instrumental piano song at the end was really out of place. Stand-out: Bury Me Deep In Love
I don't understand why this is considered so iconic - it's the blandest, most milquetoast shit ever. Stand-out: Sweet Talkin' Woman
Mellow pop-rock ballads. It started not that bad, but it was too long and as it went on got too mellow. Stand-out: Answering Bell
Another mild pop-rock album. There's nothing particularly bad about it but it didn't resonate with me at all - I'd rather not listen to it again. I didn't like the vocals at all - at first I thought the singer had a slight lisp, or it was a creative decision to not enunciate, but by the end I realised it was just too monotonous.
Okay, before listening to this I knew some of their hits and hated every single one of them. However, the first few songs of the album weren't that bad - the instrumentation is good, and the consistency of it makes you kind of desensitised to the obnoxious screaming. But then a couple of their famous songs played back to back and made me realise that nevermind, I do still hate them. Stand-out: Genocide
The songs weren't that bad but I cannot excuse so many skits and interludes in 2021, that's 90s shit that should stay in that decade. Stand-out: Put It Down
Background electronic music. Nice and calming. Stand-out: Stars
I think I'd rather have the bollocks. I've generally preferred the more underground britpunk albums. I recognised Anarchy In The U.K. and Pretty Vacant. Stand-out: Liar
CCR don't miss. I've yet to hear a song of theirs I don't like. Listening to this just puts you in a good mood. Stand-out: Lookin' Out My Back Door
Unsettling and desparate, but well done. Stand-out: A Strange Day
This album had high highs and low lows and did not match my high expectations. I know Queen can be inconsistent at times but I hoped such a famous album would have fewer duds. Stand-out: You're My Best Friend
I thought a full Doors album would get boring, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well it held together. Quite a few hits here, and the rest of the songs were nice and groovy as well. Stand-out: Break On Through (to the Other Side)
I didn't expect to recognise so many songs here. Half our car cds are filled with this guy it seems. Anyway, while the music was good, I would prefer if it wasn't a live album.
Mellow country music with a sweet voice. Not bad, but a bit samey. Stand-out: Bang the Drum Slowly
I found it to be a pretty unmemorable rock album, but I wouldn't mind relistening. Stand-out: Hanging Around
Not bad (except Weenie Beenie), but I like their later work more. Stand-out: Oh, George
Pretty boring electronic music, though the final track was cool. Stand-out: They're Hanging Me Tonight
Catchy disco music. Stand-out: He's The Greatest Dancer
This started really strong with Seven Nation Army, and I did not expect to enjoy the rest as much as I did. A great mix of heavy and slower songs, all very well done, and quite interesting and experimental. Stand-out: I Want to Be With the Boy to Warm Your Mother's Heart
Pretty good folk music but a bit boring at times. Stand-out: Don't Interrupt the Sorrow
This is my third Bowie album on this list. I gotta say I preferred the other two. I don't know what he was going for with the 10+ minute long weird instrumental section but I can't say I appreciated it.
This was exciting and funky except the final song which had some jarring screeching and disgusting sounds. Stand-out: Super Stupid
Interesting music, good for the radio. Probably the best britpop/rock I've had on this list so far. Stand-out: I Spy
She has a good voice but with the minimal instrumentation it got annoying after some point. Stand-out: Rack of His
Of course more britpunk. This one's quite good background music cause it's pretty monotone. Stand-out: 5:45
Half the songs were interesting light pop music, the other half I didn't enjoy, so I'll give a 3. Stand-out: Running Up That Hill (A Deal with God)
I did not like this very much, it sounded very machine-y often. Stand-out: And Through The Wire
Angry singing with monotone guitar, but quite good. Stand-out: Bullet In the Head
I had very low expectations for this but I liked it, it wasn't too weird or obnoxiously heavy. I would listen to snippets of it again, however the whole thing is too long so it becomes monotonous. Stand-out: Bullet In the Head
Nice catchy hip-hop, but it was too long and got tiring. Stand-out: B.O.B.
Mostly dull rock but some songs were nice. The original version was too short, I'd like a couple more songs. Stand-out: It's A Shame About Ray
Sounded very much like weird beatles era. Stand-out: Baron Saturday, Trust
Nice chill album, good background music. Stand-out: Message In A Bottle
Too screamy for me. Stand-out: A.K.A. I-D-I-O-T
Kind of dreamy, he sounds half asleep at times, but it's enjoyable. Stand-out: Black Star
Some good long songs here, I didn't get tired of them despite the length. If they were shorter I'd call it radio rock but they're not, so I won't. Stand-out: american dream
Passionate rock music, worked really well as an album, and his mumbly vocals fit. Stand-out: Born To Run
I love this kind of country music, it's pleasant and fun to listen to. Stand-out: El Paso
Very hype, makes you bang your head (lightly). I wasn't expecting much based on the two songs I knew from them but this was great. Stand-out: Mardy Bum
Moody album, sets the atmosphere of bar late at night when everyone is drowsing and smoked out. Stand-out: Wandering Star, Glory Box
Forgettable soft rock. Stand-out: Big Black Car
Funky 80s rock music. Stand-out: Desparate People
I can't lie the way Iggy Pop sings is a bit creepy, but this album is very well made. Stand-out: China Girl
Boring, monotonous, sometimes annoying, yo man hip-hop music.
Dance-y disco-y music. Groovy, but nothing too special. Stand-out: World Clique
This was pretty bad. Had a lot of synths and was generally boring.
Prolonged exposure to Dylan's singing is damaging to my ears. Small doses are recommended. Stand-out: Like a Rolling Stone
Pleasant orchestral jazz, could be a looney tunes soundtrack. Stand-out: Teddy the Toad
Muted synthy 80s album, not bad, just a bit weird, and not super interesting. Stand-out: Heatwave
The first half was interesting and nice, the second half was a weird long instrumental section. Stand-out: Always Crashing in the Same Car
I expected country from the art and title but it was more soulful easy listening. I was impressed, she was very good. Stand-out: Son of a Preacher Man
Pretty boppy pop music. I preferred the songs I didn't know before. 3.5 stars. Stand-out: Rio
Reminded me of Oasis but less annoying. Accessible easy-to-listen pop-rock. I liked it a lot but the lyrics were so noticeably bad that I'm removing a point. Stand-out: First of the Gang to Die
Live album, they were jamming out a lot, I liked it.
Good lounge music, but not very memorable. Stand-out: Not Available
Reminded a bit of U2, but not as good imo. Stand-out: Harmony
Beatles inspired, though a bit more modern. It was well done. Stand-out: Another Satellite, Mermaid Smiled
I'm not a huge hip-hop fan and this had plenty of annoying moments. Stand-out: Walk This Way (ft. Aerosmith)
The music was great, the vocals not so much. If he just shut up and let the band play I'd like it more. Sounded kinda like Guns N' Roses from lidl. Stand-out: Vambo Marble Eye
Classic disco, catchy repetitive beats that maybe went on too long sometimes, but it was well made and I liked the variety between the tracks even though there was none inside each one. Stand-out: Happy Man
I wasn't impressed by the first half of the album, had a bit too many mentions of mamas, but the second half won me over, it was more interesting and varied. Overall good country music. Stand-out: Here I Am
Trippy and experimental. I vibed with the first half more, fell off a bit after the middle. Reminded me of portishead but I liked this more. Stand-out: Black Steel
Good atmospheric pop songs. Stand-out: Trouble
The singer's vocal style annoys me and combined with the generic rock music makes this seem dated to me. Stand-out: Life's a Gas
Apparently a track from here was on FIFA 99 and I can totally see it, given the hypeness and repetitiveness of the album. Perfect for loading screens in a football game. Stand-out: Praise You
Moody mild music, a bit boring and whiny. Stand-out: Dollars and Cents
Good old country music. I would prefer it if it was shorter because every song sounded the same. Stand-out: Streets of Bakersfield
Cozy jazz music. Apparently a live album but you couldn't tell most of the time. Stand-out: Just One Of Those Things
1 hour and 15 minutes of rap. Fucking hell.
Pretty good poppy album, I wouldn't mind hearing this in malls, but after a while the songs started merging too much to one another. Stand-out: LMK
Awesome guitarwork and the vocal style suits the music a lot. Some tracks were a bit boring though. Stand-out: Sultans of Swing
Even though it was depressive, it was better than I expected. I liked the moody rock music that occasionally picks up. Stand-out: New Dawn Fades
Country-pop, sweet voice, I liked it. Some songs were pretty cringe though. Stand-out: Golden Hour
This was pretty hard, which I liked, but the singer's voice was distracting. Stand-out: Love Is Only A Feeling
Interesting folk songs without much structure to them, but pleasant to listen to as an album. Stand-out: Car on a Hill
This was like if you took the Cure and removed everything good they have going on. Annoying music, annoying wailing, nothing really interesting going on.
African music, lots of bongos. I thought some songs were too long. Stand-out: Daande Lenol
Why is all 90s hip hop boring and misogynistic?
I've heard better old music. Stand-out: Hey, Good Looking
What's this rubbish, someone mumbling-wailing all the time with distorted screeching music in the background like you were dragging chairs on the floor and listening to a bad quality recording of it.
The first couple songs were weird and creepy, later it got better. The music was interesting, synthy and layered, but I hated the vocals most of the time. Stand-out: Now's the Only Time I Know
This was an amazing album, very cohesive and well produced. Easy folky sound with electronic elements. It was quite long though. Stand-out: John Wayne Gacy, Jr.
Pink Floyd from little with an extra shot of obnoxiousness. Stand-out: Love You
Nice hard rock album, could be in a summer driving CD. Stand-out: Could I've Been So Blind
Hip-hop / rnb but actually good and vibe-y. Stand-out: Thinkin Bout You
Live album, the original was short and succint. It was clear that both Johnny Cash and the crowd were enjoying it. I liked it, but would rather listen to the studio version.
Mostly absolutely terrible, mix of creepy and incredibly annoying.
An album where every random 30 second snippet sounds exactly the same has 0 reason to be over an hour long.
This was very impressive and enjoyable for the first 3/4s, country-rock with a latino influence. The slower songs at the end were not that good, and the variety was slightly over-ambitious. Stand-out: Across the Wire, Quattro - World Drifts In
Very 80s. Not bad but not my taste. Stand-out: Faith
Beatles-influenced and fun. Stand-out: There She Goes
Good easy rock music but dragged on too much. It could do with fewer Stevie ballads I think. Stand-out: Think About Me
Good radio rock. I liked the duet with the guy. Stand-out: The Mess We're In
I forgot to post my review and lost it. Stand-out: Hate & War
The instrumentation is very good, I would enjoy this more if they shut up and just let the band play. Stand-out: If There Is Something
A bit weird but in a good way, interesting listen. Maybe got too weird at the end. Stand-out: I Zimbra
Moody electronic/hip hop with nice non-distracting beats. The 10-minute song To the Moon's Contractor was amazing, but everything after it sounded worse in comparison dragging the whole thing down. Stand-out: Takes More Than 41
Soft rock, easy listening. Stand-out: Brooklyn (Owes the Charmer Under Me)
Whimsical, bombastic and peculiar songs. Freddie's singing is impressive as always. Stand-out: The Fairy Fellers Master-Stroke, Seven Seas of Rhye
Good lazy vibes. Stand-out: Midnight Ravers
I liked when they broke down and got heavy. Stand-out: White Cross
I liked the unserious vibe of some songs. However after some point they started blending into each other and being a bit repetitive. Stand-out: Land Ho!
So much of this sounded so familiar but I don't think I actually knew any of these songs. It was very british, and mostly fun, but also tiring at times. Stand-out: A Message to You Rudy
I quite liked this, good background rock music. Stand-out: Troubles
Bunch of bangers one after the other. Stand-out: Cover Me
Pretty decent and enjoyable pop music, quite well done. The wannabe country songs at the end were bad though. Stand-out: Just Like the Rain
Despite not understanding shit, I can say that african rock is fire. Stand-out: Ai Tchere Bele, Petit Metier
I didn't dislike it but it was very samey. I recognised The Weight. Stand-out: This Wheel's On Fire
Mostly electronic, this was interesting and varied throughout. Stand-out: Nostalgia
This wasn't particularly interesting all things considered. Had some good songs, some weird ones, but I expected a bit more. Stand-out: I'm Free
I found the songs to be too long. It was fine for the good ones, but not the bad ones. Stand-out: Lasidan
Nice cosy jazz music. Stand-out: Samba Dees Days
These guys can get really epic with their slower songs. The faster ones, apart from Cecilia, were less impressive, but I was enjoying this a lot until the stupid cover of Bye Bye Love came in and took me out completely. Stand-out: The Boxer
Soft rock, good music, nothing groundbreaking. Stand-out: Charlie Freak
Better than the other My Bloody Valentine album I got. This one had a few songs that were actually listenable. Most of it was still badly recorded noise though. Stand-out: [When You Wake] You’re Still In A Dream
This sounds much older than 2004, didn't expect it to be so recent. Very good though, a bit punk, a bit funky, enjoyable overall. Stand-out: Nightmare Part II
I've had so many Bowie albums on this list so far and nothing has topped Station to Station. This one was another weird, unsettling one. Didn't like. Stand-out: Dollar Days
From the cover I thought this would be some emo shit but this was fire. I'm a sucker for good rock with pianos. Stand-out: Blunderbuss
A bunch of very catchy songs that always opened unpromisingly but worked out by the end. It seemed too long though, each song could be cut by 30 seconds and nothing would be missed. Stand-out: Earthquake Weather
First song was great but it was all downhill from there. The rest, whilst very polished, sounded generally bland, wish it went harder sometimes. She enunciates very clearly but if you have a long album there should be some more variety. Stand-out: willow
Great pop rock album, I liked all songs but two. Debbie's voice is amazing, idk who that guy singer is that ruins the 6th song. Stand-out: Picture This, Heart of Glass
This was gritty and cool but I got tired of it after a while. Stand-out: Rid Of Me
Generic grunge to me, but not the boring kind. 3.5 rounded down. Stand-out: If I think
Great album, full of fun songs (with potentially questionable african influences), though I think a couple slower ones would fit well here to break the flow and occasional corniness. Stand-out: The Boy In The Bubble, Under African Skies
This had some tracks that were very catchy. The female backing vocals totally carried whenever present. Stand-out: Heart Of The City (Ain't No Love)
I like the Rolling Stones. I like all of the songs. Stand-out: I Am Waiting
Seems all of these guys' hits are in this album. Even the 9 minute songs slapped all the way through (didn't expect it). Second half had a couple mediocre songs which made this drag on a bit, if only it was a bit shorter. 4.5 rounded down cause of the length Stand-out: Holiday, Jesus of Suburbia
Robotic electronic music, with occasional robotic german singing. Stand-out: Das Model
Pretty old instrumental music, many parts could be used in chase scenes in tom and jerry. Stand-out: Can't Sit Down
A bunch of lazy ballads, with kind of juvenile lyricism. She's not bad, but I mean, if you've heard one you've heard them all. Stand-out: Wild At Heart
Most of it was generic radio rock that sounded the same. A few songs had some quirky electronic music. All in all it was way too long. Stand-out: This is a Low
I liked the beginning a lot, the bass was great and the music set a moody atmosphere very well. But it got quite tiring by the end, not helped by the occasionally annoying vocals. Stand-out: Memories
Not bad hip-hop. Maybe because I couldn't make out the lyrics. Stand-out: Method Man - Release Yo 'Delf
The layered vocals make this sound quite dated, even if the music isn't at all. I found it a bit boring. Stand-out: Bluish
Easy listening R.E.M. Stand-out: Disturbance At The Heron House
British, quite fun, mostly uninteresting synthy music. Stand-out: We're Going To Live For A Very Long Time
Why is Bittersweet Symphony their hit? This album is so much better. However the songs were too many and too long, each one should be shaved by like a full minute and the whole thing would become much more palatable. -1 point cause of the length. Stand-out: This Is Music
From their few hits I knew this was exactly as I expected. I like their sound, but I have to admit they do give off im14andthisisdeep vibes. Stand-out: One Step Closer
Kind of gritty noisy rock, I liked some tracks, others not so much. Stand-out: Trigger Cut
Some unexpectedly interesting tracks here, which muted the annoying vocals a somewhat, but not enough for me to particularly like it. Stand-out: Three and Nine
Quite pompous and orchestral but also charming and very beautiful at times. Too long. Stand-out: I Don't Know What It Is, Beautiful Child
Good soul live album, they were clearly having fun there. That said, I don't care for live albums.
Pretentious prog rock, sounds like Rush but with less annoying vocals. Stand-out: I've Seen All Good People: a. Your Move, b. All Good People
Easy listening, which I didn't expect knowing Song 2. I quite liked it as background music, not too distracting. Just snip the last couple songs to get it under 50 mins. Stand-out: M.O.R.
Probably the best punk album I've had on this list so far. Despite the length it kept banging and did not get tiring. 4.5 stars. Stand-out: Wrong 'Em Boyo, Death or Glory
I never seem to get tired of Stairway to Heaven no matter how overplayed it is. I won't say that the next song can hold up after it, but the album picks up again quickly and ends strong. Stand-out: Going to California, Rock and Roll
Weird musical background noise. Not unpleasant. Stand-out: Very Very Hungry.
I mean this is exactly what I expected from the title. Calming, ambient, yes, but not something I would look out for. After a while I was waiting for it to end.
Pretty good rock music. The album was well put together, I liked the motifs, and the longer tracks worked well. Stand-out: Guiding Light
This started out decent but I couldn't stand to hear her voice by the end of it. Stand-out: Car Wheels On A Gravel Road
Sweet country music. The first half was quite uplifting, not as moping as most country songs, which I appreciated. Stand-out: The Last Of The True Believers
90s hip-hop. This has a few good songs (mostly the covers), but the skits bring it down. Stand-out: Fu-Gee-La
This is some live dad rock band but I didn't like their music. Maybe I would if it were the studio versions instead.
Pretty good country music. He harmonised well with the female backing vocalist. Stand-out: I Can't Dance
Phenomenal pop album. Atmospheric, optimistic, beautiful. I was instantly hooked and they didn't lose me. Stand-out: Easter Theatre, Greenman
Chill vibes, nice slow music. I thought I'd get bored but the instrumentation was lovely. Stand-out: Unchained Melody
They have a beautiful light folksy sound which makes the couple songs where they jam out more feel really out of place. 3.5 stars. Stand-out: Genesis Hall
All the famous songs are whiny pretentious snoozefests. At least a few of the non-hits are good. -1 point for that shitty monologue in the middle. Stand-out: Lucky
Isn't rappers' thing that they are supposed to be, like, cool? Cause honestly this guy was a bit pathetic and amateurish. The only songs that were okay were the collabs. Stand-out: Cold World
Nirvana-like grunge music. I liked it because she went quite hard at times. Second half got repetitive though. Stand-out: Violet
Artful album. Each song seemed to wander about without a clear path, but it worked. Perfect for medieval age nobility wanting a minstrel to sing and strum on the side for like an hour. Stand-out: Monkey & Bear
This is the second live album from an old rock band that is too long and includes 20+ min jams that I have gotten in this list. Please no more.
Live album with four 10+ minute tracks. It was very good, especially the drums.
I liked their other album more. This is generic female-led radio rock, and every song sounds the same. 3.5 stars. Stand-out: Northern Star
Soft easy music but the vocalist can't sing for the life of him. That said, a few tracks were really immersive. Stand-out: What Is the Light?
If you ignore the occasional creepy lyrics this is normal fun 50s music. Stand-out: Rock Me My Baby
I preferred their other album. This is a bit more mellow, but still slaps. Wish it was a bit longer. Stand-out: Wrote A Song For Everyone
Interesting album, chill synths with her Bjork's wispy vocals all over. I like the concept, but it was a bit too long. Stand-out: It's Not Up To You
Apparently these were all covers? They did a pretty good job I gotta say, this was great. Stand-out: Mona (I Need You Baby), Tell Me
This went pretty hard, I dig it. I can see how influential it was for early heavy metal music. Stand-out: Smoke On The Water
Sweet folk music. Very boy with guitar. I liked when a choir and grandiose instrumentation occasionally joined in. Stand-out: Blue Ridge Mountains, White Winter Hymnal
This was entirely uninteresting to me. I zoned out till it finished. Rock box was the only song that saves this from 1 stars. Stand-out: Rock Box
Just all around fun, bubblegum pop music. Stand-out: Fernando
Ethereal sounding, like it came out of a fantasy dream. Sometimes it got a bit too weird. I can see Tarja-era Nightwish being influenced by this. Stand-out: Pandora (for Cindy)
The parts where they actually played music were okay. The parts where they dragged chairs around and screached were not. I was happy when it ended. Stand-out: Dirty Boots
This seems like any other generic british new wave shit. Some songs were fun, some reminded me of The Cure. A bit repetitive overall. Stand-out: Poppies In The Field
This is the most milquetoast shit ever. Evening hotel lobby music. Stand-out: i've got to see you again
Electronic dance music. Boring. Stand-out: Now There Is Nothing
The give off Coldplay vibes. 3.5 rounded up. Stand-out: Pounding, Caught By The River
She sings like old-school Christmas songs, which I like. Praise that person on youtube that uploaded a 40-min selection of this because the full thing is enormous. Stand-out: Beginner's Luck (I've Got)
Kind of jazzy rock music, pleasant to listen through. Stand-out: Josie
This went by quite easy, but it was very samey. Stand-out: World on a String
My expectations were low but this was actually good. It being live helped a lot, he did some interesting things with his songs.
Their other album was so much better, this was cringe, some songs sounded like they are part of a musical. Stand-out: The Same Boy You've Always Known
These guys don't give a fuck, they just play whatever they want and sing some nonsense. Didn't expect this to be so old, has a later punk sound. Stand-out: We Do Wie Du
Obnoxious garbage. Turned it off half way through.
Fully instrumental jazz music, live. Look I enjoy the sax as much as the next guy but this wasn't particularly interesting.
Glam rock, it started to grow on me in the middle but then I got tired of it. Stand-out: Gudbuy T'Jane
Catchy tunes, the lyrics were often depressing, the crowd loved it. Good live album, but still a live album. Stand-out: Folsom Prison Blues
Easy hotel lobby music but very good. Stand-out: Só Danço Samba
Boring electronic music with occasional mumble-droning from the singer. 2nd half was better than 1st half. 2.5 stars. 4 albums in and I still don't understand why people like this band so much. Stand-out: Morning Bell
So good american country rock, perfect for a road trip. I will admit it did not deserve an 8 minute song, but the rest made up for it. Stand-out: No Other, From a Silver Phial
There is so little metal in this list that I'll even take this guy. He is annoying yes but the riffs are kinda good? 3.5 stars. Stand-out: Irresponsible Hate Anthem
Fun, hype, rebellious hip-hop. Stand-out: A Day At The Races
Chill, a bit funky, jazz music. Way too long.
This had potential but is extremely repetitive, uninspiring and boring. Pity, cause his voice is not bad.
I like U2 but this was pretty bland all things considered. It would be better if they just played Beautiful Day 12 times. Stand-out: Beautiful Day Stand-out for "Hypocrisy is the Greatest Luxury": Music and Politics
This was too much Red Hot Chili Peppers at once; I prefer smaller doses of them. Also, the hits were miles better than the rest of the album. Stand-out: Road Trippin'
I don't understand why people like this so much. It is very good, yes, but best-of-all-time good? I wouldn't call it that. Stand-out: I Don't Want to Know
Energetic african jazz. I wanted more, it was too short. Stand-out: Zombie
This was not a pleasant listen. 0 redeeming qualities.
Sounds like a french guy trying to hit on you while bassy rock music plays in the background. Stand-out: L'hôtel particulier
These guys are very angry. It could do with fewer skits.
Average britpop. Sounds older than it is. Stand-out: Something for the Weekend
I hate Lou Reed's singing, makes every song either instantly more boring or like you have slugs in your ears. Whatever salvageable song this album may have is immediately followed by the most annoying slimy garbage it's a shame really. Stand-out: I'm So Free
This was the soundtrack to a Bollywood movie. Had some fun tracks, but also a lot of very movie-sounding music, which is not what I'm looking for here. Stand-out: Mera Pyaar
Jangly folky music. It wasn't bad but all songs sounded the same. Stand-out: I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better
Funky, fun listen. Stand-out: Natty Dread
Large hip-hop album with a bunch of skits. Was ok. Stand-out: Back Like That (Remix)
Pretty old rock sound, I like it. One of the few live albums that actually make me feel like the concert was good enough to make an album out of it. Stand-out: Magic Bus (but find the studio version)
This is the best out of the three The Cure albums I've gotten. Same moody depressing atmospheric vibes going on, a bit monotone but well produced and put together as an album. My standard complaint on the length stands, the 7+ minute tracks at the end make it drag a bit. Stand-out: Lovesong, Disintegration
Pleasant folk music, with lovely harmonies. The Nash songs were the best and kind of overpowered the rest. Stand-out: Teach Your Children
Easy listening music. Apart from a couple songs I found it quite boring. Stand-out: River Song
Not special. Forgettable british music with a touch of ska. Stand-out: Do Nothing
Clearly he was having fun making this album, it is goofy and has interesting sounds. However I was definitely not having fun listening to it. It sounds like hip-hop for 13-year-olds to blast and annoy the elders, and I'm with the elders on this one. There are a couple of genuinely good and catchy songs, but most of it is so obnoxiously annoying in your face I can't stand it. Stand-out: The Magic Number
