The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady
Charles MingusPlease...please...no more twenty-minute jazz songs. Please.
Please...please...no more twenty-minute jazz songs. Please.
Dreadfully boring.
This is NOT music.
No. Just no. (Did not finish.)
Background music.
Probably wouldn't usually be my sort of thing, but this album fit very well while listening with headphones and taking a walk at night. It did feel like it went on a little long, though, and a lot of the songs sounded basically the same. I liked the first few songs the most and liked how well they open the album.
Now THIS hit the spot. I love the energy of this album - how every song sounds different, but the whole album still feels cohesive.
This one really hit the spot for me. I love this era of music. I love how passionate each song sounds. I love the structure of the album, with the instrumental intro and outro, really giving it a sense of completeness.
I had high expectations for this one as a fan of funk and soul, but the album didn't quite work all the way through for me. Some of the songs just felt weirdly boring, which doesn't happen to me often with this genre of music.
I liked this more than I thought I would, given that it's a live album and most of the songs are stretched out to be really long - but I guess I like rock songs being stretched out like that, where they have long instrumental sections.
Very fun. I love rock operas.
Absolutely beautiful. I love the variety of sounds here, yet the whole album still feels cohesive.
Groovy. 😎 Got better as the album went on.
40 minutes of a man saying gross shit about women. Tiring.
Quite fun. I love this kind of older punk. Went on a little long, though.
I love women's R&B. "Waterfalls" is great.
I ADORE this album.
Near pop perfection. <3
There were a couple songs I liked, but this album as a whole was tiring to sit through.
Beatles ripoff (complimentary)
Very nice music, but the album was kind of long for my taste.
I've been loving this album since I was a young teen. Absolutely iconic alternative rock.
The funkiest funk to ever funk.
I liked this quite a bit.
Very nice. I liked "Zebra" a lot in particular.
Very nice, lovely music.
Good beats.
Lots of nice songs, especially "Superstition."
Very pretty folk songs.
Really great rap.
Some nice songs. Some forgettable songs.
Nice, but kind of forgettable.
Nice, but all the songs sound kind of same-y.
It's music.
Fine, but nothing special.
Dull background music.
It was fine.
I liked it, but some songs were pretty forgettable.
I for one like this kind of bubblegum metal.
Not a huge fan of short songs, which most of these are, but I could see a lot of these songs growing on me with repeat listens.
Such a classic, lovely album.
Fun but not super memorable or anything.
Nice stuff, though I can't imagine ever willingly listening to the full-length version of some of these songs again. At least there are shorter versions of them.
Nothing special, but I don't dislike it.
Some nice songs, some forgettable ones.
A true perfect album.
God bless women.
Nice music.
Kind of weird, but I don't hate it.
I didn't like this one as much as the other Stevie Wonder albums on here.
It's fine. I liked a couple of the songs and didn't dislike the rest.
Background music.
Oh great, more background music.
Nice but not something I think I would listen to outside of this project.
Nice music, but it kind of fades into the background.
I could probably get pretty into this music on repeat listens.
God bless women.
Fun stuff.
Ooh, I like. What a fun, unique sound.
Very nice once the album really "gets started."
Lovely album. I've never sat down and listened to the whole thing before.
I thought I would hate it based on the reviews, but I got decently into this album. Interesting parody.
I liked the first few songs but got tired of this album quickly.
Wow! Very different from the Queen music that gets overplayed. Fun stuff.
Just because an album is a neat idea doesn't mean I want to listen to it.
Fun, gay-ass music!
Love it! Definitely want to give this some repeat listens since there are a few songs here I've never heard before.
Definitely want to come back to this one and give it another listen in the future!
I was already tired of it by the end of the first song, and then it just kept going. This is the first time I've refused to listen to a whole album from this list.
Good stuff, but hard to sit through the whole album in one go.
Elton John :)
The length of this album scared me, but I wound up liking this one much more than I expected. It's definitely background music, but it's good background music.
The album was a bit long to listen to all at once, but I think I'd really enjoy these songs if I listened to them individually in the future.
I'm not particularly interested in listening to recordings of live concerts, and some of these songs went on way too long.
Such a weird mix of music I really like and music I find completely unlistenable.
Why is this here?
Not the worst thing I've ever heard, but I was glad when it was over.
Mediocre.
Won me over slightly by the end.
Beautiful.
Great, especially the first two songs.
Nice music, but not the sort of thing I'd listen to on my own time.
Unlistenable garbage.
Dull but not awful.
Hell yeah.
I've loved this album since I was a teenager, and it's only grown on me since then.
Extremely unremarkable.
BEAUTIFUL. I should give this more listens in the future. I think it could really, really grow on me.
God I love The Clash.
Not what I expected as someone who only knew the title track before today. Pretty cool stuff.
Very fun, unique sound. I definitely want to return to this album in the future.
I don't have anything clever to say here. It's Abbey Road, baby.
Beatles ripoff (complimentary)
Too dull for me.
More enjoyable than I expected from an album with only one big hit.
Nothing special to me.
Dreadfully boring.
No. Just no. (Did not finish.)
I've loved this album dearly since I was a teenager.
Pretty forgettable noise.
I liked a couple songs well enough, but the rest was a slog.
One really great song and a bunch of forgettable ones.
I like how high-energy this album is, but all the songs sound pretty much the same.
Most of the tracks just faded into background noise for me, but I liked them all decently enough.
This is the kind of rap that makes me want to try more rap. Probably not something I would listen to very often, though.
Nothing to hate here, but nothing mind-blowing either.
Nothing very remarkable here, but nothing to dislike.
Nothing really stands out to me about this one, and it got pretty grating toward the end.
This might be an album that'll grow on me with repeat listens.
There's a sound I like here, but this album doesn't quite work for me. There isn't enough of what I like, and there's too much of what I don't like.
I liked this album at first, but then it just kept going. Each song felt pretty much the same.
How exactly is this an album I NEEDED to hear before I die?
I've loved the hits off this album for a while now, but this was my first time listening to the whole thing. Unfortunately, I don't think there's much value here outside of the hits I already liked.
Sorry to say, but this is just horrifically boring to me. Instrumental background jazz does nothing for me.
Every song here just sounds like any old Rolling Stones song. Not bad but nothing to write home about either. Not sure why seemingly every Rolling Stones album had to be on this list.
Literally not a single song stands out.
I liked "Watermelon Man" a lot, but the rest of the songs were unmemorable to me.
I'm not the biggest fan of really short songs (we get enough of that nowadays), but I love the energy of these songs! Old-school punk is great.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I liked "Can't Let Go" a lot and found some of the other songs kind of pretty and nice, but most of this album was boring.
Why is this on this list?
Ooh, definitely an album I'll have to return to the future. I can imagine myself getting some good relistens out of this one and appreciating it more and more each time.
The ratings on this one made me think I was going to hate it, but I mostly liked this one. It's interesting experimental hip-hop.
There's really nothing remarkable about this, but there's nothing to dislike about it either.
Psychedelic rock. <3 I should listen to this album more. I think these songs could really grow on me.
Please...please...no more twenty-minute jazz songs. Please.
I like reggae, and I like the message here, but most reggae songs sound pretty much the same to me.
Nothing special here.
I'll need to give this one some repeat listens to fully appreciate it. The sound definitely stands out in a way that I like.
I definitely want to return to this one.
I think some of these songs could grow on me if I listen to them more, but I wasn't super impressed on my first listen.
I need to return to this one. I think it could really grow on me.
Sorry to say, but I don't understand how this noise could possibly be enjoyable for someone to listen to.
Lotta BANGERS here. I need to return to this album for sure.
As a big Arctic Monkeys fan, I always like hearing Alex Turner's voice, but this doesn't quite reach the highs of Arctic Monkeys to me.
Nice album that I want to return to.
Not exactly my thing, but I sorta like it.
Edgy.
Some really, really iconic songs I've loved my whole life + a bunch of songs no one cares about.
The kind of rap that makes me want to listen to more rap.
Pretty, lovely music.
I've loved this music for a long time, but it's wild how every song on this album sounds exactly the same.
Nice, but I might need to listen more to really appreciate it.
Yeah, that's some noise alright.
Beatles ripoff (complimentary)
I have to respect the efficiency of this album, with each song averaging a minute in length and the whole album lasting a grand total of sixteen minutes. Not exactly my thing, though.
Horrible news: I really enjoyed this album.
Why is this mediocre, endless album on this list?
Pink Floyd, baby!
It is CRIMINAL that so many Blur albums are on this list but not a single Gorillaz album.
This is nothing music. I may as well not listen to anything at all.
Not my favorite MIA album, but there are a few songs on here I really love.
Yawn.
Lovely. I already knew a few of these songs, but it was nice to hear some new ones.
Nothing remarkable.
Long album, so I can't say every song stood out all that much to me, but I definitely liked this.
Absolute blast.
Led Zeppelin, baby!
Nice stuff, but no song stood out that much to me on my first listen.
Nothing memorable here, but nothing to dislike either.
I like Beck, but this definitely isn't my favorite Beck album.
Pretty in a boring way.
This was my first real introduction to British rap, and I really liked it!
Really forgettable.
Didn't blow my mind, but I like it.
Another decent Bowie album.
Why? Why is this on this list?
Pretty forgettable outside of "Sunshine of Your Love." Not unpleasant, though.
Nothing special here. Even the most popular song on here isn't all that interesting to me.
It's nice and all, but I just can't get that excited over an instrumental album.
For an album with only 4 songs, this sure felt endless.
Not as good as Doolittle, but it's Pixies so I like it.
Not bad.
Very pretty.
Oh hell yeah.
It sucks.
Nothing special.
High energy, which I like. Nothing too special though.
Nice stuff.
Pretty but I don't go crazy for instrumental albums.
They really will put any old British album on this list, huh?
Kind of fun.
I was very pleasantly surprised by this album. It's quite beautiful.
I like.
Not great. Not terrible.
Pretty.
Very interesting sound.
Boring. Why is a live album on here anyway?
A beautiful album that I need to return to.
I definitely want to give this album more listens in the future.
Nice.
Lovely stuff. Definitely want to return to this album.
Very pretty.
This is NOT music.
Sorry, but this is so unappealing to me.
Really interesting stuff.
Kind of fun music, but I don't have a strong opinion here.
It's not good music, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy some of it.
I didn't need to listen past the first few songs.
All the songs sound the same, but that's not 100% a bad thing.
Definitely not my favorite Leonard Cohen album.
I was really into this album at first, but it dragged as it went on.
Very forgettable but not bad.
Meh.
Very nice, interesting sound.
Chill stuff.
I kinda like this.
All very samey.
Not bad.
Hell yeah.
One of my favorite albums of all time, and perfect timing with the rerelease.
Not the best old country music, but I love old country music enough to like this.
Pretty generic after the first song.
Two pretty good songs, the rest forgettable.
Not awful, but it drags on.
Nice, but not really what I felt like listening to right now.
I love old country, but this wasn't the best.
This was kind of painful to listen to.
Did not enjoy.
Funky, but I don't tend to rate instrumentals very high.
I like it enough.
Sorry, couldn't get into this sound.
Not great! I can't say I hated listening to it though.
It was okay.
Oh great, another boring live album.
A little too screamy for me after the first song.
Unbearable. I gave up after 3 songs.
Not bad.
Cool.
Cool.
Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand. 👍
Okay.
I don't normally like live albums, but it's Nirvana.
I don't normally like live albums, but the energy here is great.
Kinda samey but not bad.
I liked this more than I expected.
Corny 80s rap just isn't really my thing.
I'd probably like it more if I wasn't sick of 70s/80s rock at this point.
This is one of those albums where I know it's supposed to be good, but it made me feel nothing.
Oh my GOD stop it with the lame live albums, just stop!!!
Kinda nice. Kinda boring.
Pretty.
Pretty. Not super interesting though.
Chill folksy music. Nothing special though.
The White Stripes, hell yeah.
Likeable enough, but nothing too special.
Pretty meh until the last song.
Nothing too notable after the first few songs.
No strong opinion on this one.
Nothing to dislike, but nothing mind-blowing either.
Pleasant enough. Not super exciting beyond the first song.
