Johnny Cash
4/5
I always thought that the Folsom prison album was his best, but apparently not. I much prefer this one because it almost sounds like it was made in a recording studio. Great songs, fun interludes and a whole lot of attitude.
Peter Gabriel
4/5
I own this album, but I can own up to not listening to it often enough. I completely forgot about the Kate Bush duet! I’m revisiting this one for sure, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The Doors
5/5
Great album, loved it for a long time.
Depeche Mode
5/5
Great
Nick Drake
4/5
Listened to it twice. It didnt disappoint.
Bob Dylan
4/5
Classic
David Gray
2/5
Dion
3/5
Never heard of this artist before, but it was definitely produced by Phil Spector. I generally enjoyed it more than I thought I would, but there were still some duds.
Ella Fitzgerald
3/5
Brilliant background music, sounds like the kind of thing that would sound incredible on vinyl.
Miles Davis
4/5
Classic Miles, incredible bops and some great solo moments. On par with sketches of spain imo.
Tom Tom Club
2/5
Early instance of ‘rap’ when it was fun, cool and trendy. I knew genius of love, but I didn’t know that each song on this album is at least 4.5 minutes of repetition. Some good moments, but it’s not for me.
The Black Keys
3/5
Great stuff but not edgy enough
Bee Gees
2/5
Largely boring and annoying, but not terrible.
Tom Waits
4/5
Incredible listen. I knew something like this would exist somewhere and i never expected to learn about it from here. Amazing stuff.
Violent Femmes
4/5
Angsty and horny teenager vibe. Sounds like pavement but somehow ten years earlier.
The Prodigy
3/5
Flowed nicely, annoying at times, some iconic bangers
Lightning Bolt
4/5
Noisy, but I kinda liked it. It had driving, punching drums throughout which kept me listening. The throbbing guitar/synth got a little repetitive but it felt like modern take on 70s German Prog. Can’s Tago Mago meets MBV meets Death Grips meets The Fall. This feels somewhat legendary and I need to know more.
The La's
3/5
From a challenging listen to an easy listen! This was welcomed with open arms, especially since I’ve heard the lead single from this album numerous times. It waned towards the end, but hoping to get a vinyl copy of this.
Björk
4/5
A classic. Nothing else really sounds like it. I’m not attracted to repeatedly listen to other Björk albums. Just this one.
Slint
2/5
Never got the hype around this album. It still hasn’t clicked for me.
Kacey Musgraves
3/5
Enjoyable bubblegum country tuned that flits between cutesy pop songs and heartfelt acoustic ballads. I enjoyed this more than i care to admit. The song ‘Mother’ got me choked up.
Gang Of Four
4/5
Brilliant post punk, but it sounded awful in the car. I think the production is very thin and tinny. Otherwise, I’ve always wanted this on vinyl and I still do.
Bob Dylan
4/5
Definitely his best 70s album. This time around made me appreciate Buckets of Rain a whole lot more. This is for the maudlin types like me.
Beastie Boys
1/5
Cringe
k.d. lang
2/5
Canadian nostalgia for the 50s. She has a great voice but tries too hard to sound like Elvis.
John Coltrane
4/5
Brilliant album, nice on the 100th listen too.
Jean-Michel Jarre
3/5
Almost like a jazz/lounge album masquerading as ‘electronic’. Not as proggy as tubular bells. I didn’t hate it but didn’t love it either.
Buena Vista Social Club
3/5
Great Cuban music, can’t believe Ry Cooder was prosecuted and ordered to pay $25,000 because this album was in breach of the “trading with the enemy” act.
The Pogues
2/5
A bit too big of a jump between genres for this album to feel cohesive. I much prefer rum, sodomy and the lash but the songs here are still important.
Supertramp
4/5
Just my kinda thing. I can see it being annoying for some people, but this is what I hope from a prog album.
Throbbing Gristle
2/5
I don’t doubt the importance of this album, but it isn’t an “everyday listen” kind of thing. I got into this band after watching the BBC documentary Synth Britannia. Nothing sounded like this at the time. Their experimentation ended up being extremely inspirational to the preceding years of electronic music.
Hanoi Rocks
1/5
Bad glam metal. Why is this here?
David Bowie
5/5
One of my favourite bowie albums. He really lets his band loose here. Although more of a cocaine train than earlier albums, but sonically is such a bop.
Herbie Hancock
3/5
Pretty good. Great opening track but didn’t blow me away or anything.
Paul Simon
3/5
Pre-Graceland. Liked the song about John Lennon. Would be a 2.5 but have to give a 3.
Les Rythmes Digitales
1/5
I had an open mind, listened to a couple of tracks. Instant dislike.
Massive Attack
3/5
As far as trip hop goes, this isn’t too bad. Unfinished symphony is incredible. Preferred the female vocalist tbh.
The Smiths
4/5
Great album, TQID is better

Classic. The first vinyl record i ever bought.
Ghostface Killah
4/5
Enjoyed it a lot more than I expected.
Pulp
3/5
Never was a fan of the breathy singing and sultry incantations. Love the singles though.
Erykah Badu
4/5
I enjoyed this a lot more than i anticipated. It was just so easy to enjoy it. This is like a real sexy record, not the weird Pulp stuff.
Talking Heads
5/5
Just a classic.
The Rolling Stones
5/5
This and Beggars Banquet are the best 60s Stones albums. I love this album front to back.
Jazmine Sullivan
2/5
Just your average 2020s pop album I guess. Never heard of them, not really into it.
Radiohead
5/5
One of the greatest albums of all time. My number one radiohead album changes between this album, in rainbows and kid a.
Boston
4/5
Classic rock. Great single, enjoyed the album.

Great folk guitar album. Love this, mainly because his playing is so great but the singing is good too.
Dead Kennedys
5/5
Top 3 punk albums for me. Absolute classic.
Prince
4/5
A bunch of songs about sex plus purple rain, which is also about sex.
Tim Buckley
5/5
Incredible album. Need to revisit this one. I could definitely hear a bit of jeff in his voice.
Elbow
4/5
Great album. Such a shame how overplayed these singles were in the UK back in the day…
Moby
3/5
Caught this album in a good mood. Walking around Watford listening to this was a positive experience. I can imagine finding this album repetitive and annoying on another day.
Orbital
1/5
Shitty rave music.
Sonic Youth
5/5
Noisy and boisterous with buckets of attitude. They must have been absolute killers to see live.
Simon & Garfunkel
4/5
Some of the best songwriting of all time.
I just wish it was all acoustic, as a lot of the production and arrangements don’t add anything.
Get rid of the drums on homeward bound!!! Get rid of them!!
I’ve heard this album a lot but The Dangling Conversation stood out on this listen.
Cat Stevens
3/5
A very enjoyable album, but I think I have to be in the mood for it.
Doves
2/5
Kinda boring idk
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
4/5
Weird prog with some good moments.

Hard to top this album. One of the all-time best.

An incredible jazz album. Desperately need this.

Motörhead
2/5
Standard motorhead.
Marvin Gaye
4/5
Brilliant soul album
Spiritualized
4/5
Pretty good actually. Only the second album i’ve listened to by this group… maybe i should listen to more
Duke Ellington

David Bowie

John Lennon

5/5
Another incredible album about sex by the icon that is Prince.

5/5
An incredible debut. Nothing sounds like the B52s.
Amy Winehouse
4/5
Ubiquitous in the late 00s and still stands the test of time.
Common
3/5
One of the better hip hop albums so far. The rhymes are incredible.
5/5
Didn’t expect this album to be here! The ultimate Britpop album. It’s full of teenage angst and pessimism whilst being so evocative of the Quadrophenia era of Britain.
David Bowie
5/5
Top 3 Bowie album for sure. Bowie is his young and joyful self in this album. He’s proven what he can do, now he can have fun with it.

Underworld

Steely Dan

I’ve heard this before but really enjoyed it this time. This is one for the wantlist.
The Afghan Whigs
3/5
A tight band but with mediocre vocals. I think this one will grow on me over time.
Beatles
5/5
One of the greatest albums ever.
Fatboy Slim
1/5
This is rubbish IMO. His best album is by far You’ve Come a Long Way Baby.
Yes
4/5
A classic, but not their best. Still, this pre-wakeman era was incredible.
Gram Parsons
2/5
Gram Parsons is the name on the album, but he’s the second best vocalist on nearly every song.
The Black Crowes
4/5
For me, this album flits between being a crowning achievement and a generic blues rock album. On this listen, I leaned towards the former.
Bruce Springsteen
2/5
The same opinion I have for nearly all of his albums: great writing but insufferable vocals.
The Avalanches
2/5
A bit noisy for me.
Iggy Pop
4/5
Classic album with his two best solo songs.
Weather Report
2/5
A bit bland for me. This album gets recommended a lot for people who like Zappa, but it’s just plain jazz rock.
R.E.M.
5/5
Incredible 80s indie rock. Probably my favourite REM album.
Public Image Ltd.
2/5
I mean… I thought I liked this but as an album it’s difficult to listen to all the way through. I love the song poptones though.
Jane's Addiction
1/5
Just no. I should like it but I hate it.
Arcade Fire
5/5
The third best AF album.
Earth, Wind & Fire
3/5
Not too bad but not enough of the hits to be a standout.
Scott Walker
5/5
Classic through and through
Kraftwerk
3/5
I understand its significance but I think it would be an incredible album experience on vinyl; much better than the Spotify crap.
Wu-Tang Clan
4/5
Hip hop classic. One of the greatest albums of the 90s.
Anita Baker
4/5
Some people need this album prescribed to them. Anita’s voice is so soothing.
Thin Lizzy
4/5
Pretty good actually. Some incredible guitarwork.
Nine Inch Nails
4/5
Incredible album, almost timeless. For some reason I always preferred the first album but I enjoy this one more now.
Tom Waits
2/5
Least favourite of the Waits albums i’ve listened to. I’d rather just read the lyrics.
Grant Lee Buffalo
3/5
If I could rate this 2.5 I would. It was absolutely my mid point in the likeability scale.
Deee-Lite
3/5
Terrible album cover and yet…
Groove is in the heart.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
4/5
A decent album, better than I expected. This album was a lot more popular in the 70s/80s but for some reason it’s fallen in the ranks in recent years. Is Harvest better than this? I’m not 100% certain it is.
Pavement
5/5
One of the greatest indie albums of all time and it’s their debut!
George Michael
3/5
Not too bad actually. The singles are iconic too.
Bill Evans Trio
5/5
One of my favourite jazz albums of all time. Iconic opener.
LCD Soundsystem
3/5
Tried this before because it’s seen as an essential indie album and didn’t like it. I warmed up to it this time but it still wasn’t amazing or anything.
Radiohead
4/5
Not their best by any stretch, but an essential 90s indie album.
Just straight blues rock with shredding guitars and Rod’s hoarse voice.
Beck
2/5
First couple of tracks are bangers. The rest all sounds the same.
ABBA
3/5
There are better Abba albums, but it’s nice to have an Abba album with a bunch of deep cuts i’ve never heard before.
Aphex Twin
2/5
I respect it, but just not my thing at all.
Ray Charles
2/5
Not my cup of tea but I respect the legend.
Gotan Project

Michael Kiwanuka
4/5

4/5
The singles are overly played but the deep cuts are incredible.
Jorge Ben Jor
4/5
Incredible. First time listening to it and I was blown away.
The Jam
4/5
Incredible album by the Jam. That’s Entertainment and Start! are brilliant singles, plus the deep cuts are a treat compared to other albums.

I enjoyed this one. Quite chilled.
Bob Dylan
5/5
Classic. My favourite Dylan album.
Fishbone
5/5
That bassline sent me to Jupiter.
Adele
2/5
Not the best.
The Pharcyde
2/5
Standard 90s rap. Great bars but I hate the skits.
Norah Jones
3/5
I was 5 years old when this album came out. When I put it on, it took me back to sitting in the back of my mum’s car falling asleep on a long car journey.
Al Green
4/5
What I like about this album is that it’s genuinely heartfelt. Al shows a lot of personality in his voice.
Milton Nascimento
2/5
Started off strong, soon got boring.
Michael Jackson
5/5
One of the greatest albums of all time.
Creedence Clearwater Revival
5/5
Incredible CCR album.
Einstürzende Neubauten
1/5
Nope
The xx
4/5
Brilliant album. Very much slept on.
Beck
3/5
Probably the best Beck album.
Eminem
2/5
I understand Eminem is huge and he his album is one of the best, yadda yadda. Couldn’t listen for more than 15 minutes.
Mike Oldfield
3/5
I’m on the fence with this. I recognise its genius, but I only listen to it every few years.
Bob Dylan
5/5
Quintessential Dylan.
Dwight Yoakam
3/5
Not the worst country i’ve listened to. A lot of blues influence in this.
Roni Size
4/5
Drum and bass! Some electronica I can get on board with.
William Orbit
4/5
I strangely enjoyed this! It has me curious.
Big Brother & The Holding Company
3/5
Love the hits. Sometimes Janis turns it up a little bit too much.
U2
3/5
Sunday bloody sunday and new years day are my favourite U2 songs. It’s just frustrating that it’s so front-loaded, as the last few songs on the album are either terrible or forgettable.
Pixies
5/5
Absolutely slaps, even with the weirdest deep cuts.
Simon & Garfunkel
5/5
One of the greatest albums of all time.
Parliament
5/5
The funkiest album on this list. Don’t let anyone say otherwise.
Sparks
3/5
The opening track is the greatest Sparks song of all time. The rest of the album stinks compared with Propaganda.
David Bowie
4/5
Front-loaded but still great.
Sade
3/5
I thought smooth operator would be the best track, but I was surprised at how weak it was compared to the other tracks.
Rufus Wainwright
4/5
Not what I expected. Great voice, interesting songwriting. Almost Scott Walker ish.
Richard Hawley
3/5
A low droning voice with quiet melodies… and it isn’t that bloke Leonard Cohen!
The Police
2/5
For me, this is the worst album The Police ever made.
The Cure
3/5
Not the greatest Cure album but definitely an important one. There are some great tunes on here, the pre-cursors to some of the best albums of the 80s.
Stereo MC's
3/5
I enjoyed this far more than I should have. Reminded me of Happy Mondays.
The Stooges
4/5
It’s difficult trying to decide a top three of Stooges studio albums. For me, this is consistently number one.
Prince
5/5
Just the best Prince album. I wish the last side wasn’t part of the album but like a bonus disc thing.
R.E.M.
4/5
Classic REM. Need this on vinyl.
Madonna
2/5
Madonna went in a completely new direction with this one. Another banger CD my mum would’ve cranked in the family SUV in the mid 2000s.
Van Morrison
3/5
Fun but not ethereal like Astral Weeks.
New York Dolls
3/5
Goes hard at first, then slowly devolves to bland hard rock. I respect the New York Dolls contribution to music and punk rock, but no one does glam like the UK.
The Velvet Underground
4/5
This album is a vibe. It’s not the most easy to listen to but the raw attitude and unique nature make it an incredible listen.
Japan
3/5
Brilliant album… just not as good as Tin Drum.
Green Day
5/5
An absolute classic for my generation. Full of bangers.
Eurythmics
2/5
Noisy crap, out of tune, what the hell is this, SWEET DREAMS ARE MADE OF THESE, back to the weird stuff okay, not too bad but whatever.
Bruce Springsteen
3/5
I’m not big on Springsteen, but this album felt personal and stripped down. Not the tunes that get overplayed. That being said, the tunes are still a standard 4 bars (booooring) and the lyrics are the highlight once again.
Gorillaz
2/5
I really want to like this album but I just don’t. I will definitely try again at a later stage because I love Damon.
Donovan
3/5
A great folk album. I should’ve visited Donavan during my 60s phase, somehow I missed him!
Dinosaur Jr.
4/5
Awesome cut from Dinosaur Jr. very fuzzy and psychedelic.
Joni Mitchell
4/5
Not heard this cut from Joni before. It’s now one of my favourites.
Joni Mitchell
4/5
Just a classic album. A brilliant introduction to a prolific visionary.
The Style Council
4/5
The Jam is one of my favourite bands of all time. When I first got into them, I learned about Weller’s transition into Style Council and tried listening to the first album. To say I hated it might be an overstatement, but the sentiment was there: it was nothing like the Jam. This was my first time revisiting the band, with a new set of ears and an open mind. I absolutely love it!
The Rolling Stones
5/5
Top three Stones album for me. I love this more than Let it Bleed.
Pretenders
4/5
Incredible songwriting. Not the best remaster, so I think I’ll be seeking a vinyl copy.
Public Enemy
2/5
Sigur Rós
5/5
Incredible.
Serge Gainsbourg
4/5
Incredible musicianship and great vibe.
T. Rex
5/5
One of the greatest albums of all time. I find it painfully underrated.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
4/5
This album just shouts in your face in a way that most albums try but fail.
Nirvana
3/5
As a Nirvana album, it’s probably in the top 3 live albums for me but doesn’t rank higher than live at Reading. The thing I hate about this album, although having nothing to do with the album itself, is the reason why I don’t listen to it. 15 years ago when it was introduced to me, or even just now on the internet, you couldn’t mention this album without being told that this is the best MTV unplugged album and that the Bowie cover is better than the original. It pisses me off to no end because it should be a music fan’s gateway to other unplugged albums or to Bowie’s early albums. But no, I have to be lectured by 13 years olds that Nirvana is the best at everything when they’re either regurgitating what they read online or can’t be bothered listening to other albums. Well how about this? The Alice in Chains unplugged album is a much better album and the Bowie cover is shit compared to the original track. This album gets boring just as Sunbeam starts.
Sufjan Stevens
3/5
An insane undertaking. What possesses someone to dedicate this amount of effort and creativity in this way? Incredible music but the lyrics are just wild.
Kanye West
1/5
Do I have to?
As always with Kanye, the production is good but the bars are god awful.
Butthole Surfers
2/5
This is like the Melvins meets Beefheart… but it’s total dogshit. I kind of enjoyed human cannonball though.
Ms. Dynamite
2/5
I don’t understand why this is an essential album to be quite honest.
The Doors
4/5
A great all-rounder of a rock and roll album. Morrison’s finest moment in my opinion.
Buck Owens
3/5
This is what I think of when I think of country music. Not bad but I could only listen to it occasionally. Doesn’t really suit the vibe of rainy England in December
G. Love & Special Sauce
2/5
Not my thing but appreciate the arrangements.
Tracy Chapman
3/5
Fast cars and then all the rest of the songs.
The Beach Boys
5/5
One of the greatest albums of all time. I live and breathe it.
Tangerine Dream
3/5
Trippy
Van Morrison
4/5
A classic album that really polarises people. It’s either a drunk rambling in a faux accent or a transcendent road trip album. I’m with the latter.
The Notorious B.I.G.
4/5
Incredible beats and some of my favourite flows. Loved the MM feature.
Morrissey
5/5
Love this more than I care to admit.
The Temptations
3/5
Papa was a rolling stone hasn’t really clicked for me yet, but I still enjoyed the album.
Common
2/5
A good hip hop background album. Some of the lyrics were cringe but not all.
Super Furry Animals
3/5
What a crazy mix of vibes. From “oh I like this it’s catchy” to “what the hell is this noise” within the space of 2 minutes.
Sleater-Kinney
4/5
I have always loved this album. I know that the vocals aren’t for everyone, but I have a recurring dream that I walk into a random bar in a small town and stumble upon 90s Sleater-Kinney shredding whilst bewildered bikers on bar stools can’t help but vibe.
Various Artists
5/5
An absolute classic. My favourite Christmas album.
Ray Charles
2/5
I mean… sure.
Ray was apparently the greatest live performer. His albums are okay.
Koffi Olomide
4/5
I enjoyed the hell out of this. It’s thrown my understanding of what my music taste is out the effing window.
Led Zeppelin
4/5
A classic but not their best
ZZ Top
2/5
This album’s pitch was “Let’s take the best rock songs of the 70s and make them boring for the 80s.”
Why does Ringo get the bad rep when this drummer exists?
TV On The Radio
3/5
Never heard this one before but it was pretty good! It felt quirky and unpredictable.
Marianne Faithfull
3/5
I understand that the lyrics hold a lot of weight, and Faithfull is almost preaching like a 1966 Dylan, but her voice takes some getting used to. Love the songs on here though.
Mariah Carey
1/5
Incredible voice but the songs aren’t very imaginative. The Prince cover just sounds like a cheap knock-off with no originality. Carey sounds great but her style of riffing single notes ruined music forever.
Cream
4/5
An absolute classic that’s under appreciated. I understand that a lot of the songs are covers or “stolen”, but Cream on my Mount Rushmore of trio bands. Cream are bar none the most influential band of the 60s.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
3/5
A great album for the time, but a bit tame by the Chili Peppers standards.
SZA
1/5
Just garbage.
James Brown
4/5
Incredible live album. The band sound like they’ve been playing together for years, yet they still sound youthful and bright. Early James Brown is just bread and butter, isn’t it?
Alice In Chains
5/5
Iconic grunge album, some would say one of the best grunge albums of all time. For me, it’s definitely the best AiC studio album. I’m not a guitar guy but I love Cantrell on this. I love the rhythm section, guitars, vocals and just everything. Although not a perfect album, I just love it.
Beatles
5/5
It may not even be the best Beatles album, but this could be the most important album ever made in the 20th century alongside sgt peppers.
The Byrds
3/5
I was honestly shocked to learn that The Byrds did country?!? The band that did 5D? Mr tambourine man? Turn turn turn? And it isn’t actually that bad.
Solomon Burke
4/5
I love 60s soul/blues and this album is incredible. Burke’s voice, and there’s so many hit songs here. But just like all the early 60s soul/rock albums, I just wish there weren’t so many cover songs.
The Sonics
3/5
I enjoyed the album itself and I appreciate its influence on garage rock, but in the contemporary context it just looks like a bunch of white dudes covering their favourite black musicians. Also, how many times will this list make me listen to roll over beethoven? It’s been three times already and I haven’t reached album 300 yet…
Paul Simon
4/5
The introduction to African music that the world needed in the 80s. Still being massively influential 20+ years after his first album just shows how much of a genius Paul Simon is.
Bruce Springsteen
2/5
Just Bruce being Bruce.
If Taylor Swift was a dude in the 70s but wrote good lyrics.
Pet Shop Boys
2/5
Some of the best lyrics that this group have ever produced.
Not nearly as good an album as their 80s output. Sorry!
Dusty Springfield
4/5
A great album to listen to in the background. An undeniable voice.
Curtis Mayfield
4/5
Incredible voice. Loved the originality.
The White Stripes
3/5
A classic white stripes record. A lot of interesting and creative production choices on this one, but for me it gets a bit repetitive as an album listen.
Wire
5/5
A classic post punk album that could rival gang of four’s that’s entertainment.
The Byrds
4/5
Another 1968 Byrds album selected within the space of a few days. Yet the sounds between both albums are night and day. This album is what I expected from The Byrds, whereas the other album was straight country. Weird. Anyway, this album was another psychedelic jangle pop joint from the greatest harmonisers of the 60s.
R.E.M.
4/5
I love this album. Such a youthful originality that isn’t displayed in other REM albums. Not their best, but a killer debut nonetheless.
My Bloody Valentine
4/5
Although I personally love this band and this album, I don’t think this album deserves to land on the list as much as Loveless. The hype for MBV was fever pitch, but fans nowadays don’t care too much about it.
The Who
5/5
The greatest rock opera with the weirdest subject matter.
Carpenters
3/5
I respect the hell out of Karen Carpenter. She’s one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century. Having said that, she made grandma music.
Beatles
5/5
One of the first Beatles albums that clicked with me to the point where I would listen to it everyday. I’m quite sentimental about this one.
Mj Cole
4/5
I have to be in the mood for this kind of drum track. On this occasion I caught a VIBE.
SAULT
2/5
I was bored listening to this. Even the lyrics, that should be it’s shining beacon, are much to be desired.
Bob Marley & The Wailers
5/5
An incredible album. I can’t believe I got suckered into only listening to Legend. This album has a few massive hits and great deep cuts. This turned a rainy January day into a Caribbean paradise.
Ice Cube
2/5
I enjoy listening to a couple of songs at a time, but 71 minutes straight is just painful.
Little Richard
5/5
An absolute classic. Every record collection needs these songs.
Beth Orton
2/5
Sometimes I listen to an album on this list and think “why is this here?” It’s a frustrating feeling because the album isn’t bad, but surely there are better albums than this???
Pixies
5/5
No other album sounds like this. It influenced countless albums that came after. I love it and always will love it.
Lou Reed
4/5
Is it weird that I prefer Berlin? Some of the lyrics on this album are terrible. Great singles though.
Caetano Veloso
4/5
Surprised by how great this was. I had heard about Brazilian music from the 60s during the Tropicalia movement, but somehow didn’t listen to this album. Incredible stuff.
Lauryn Hill
3/5
Great concept, good songs. I need to pay this closer attention.
Little Simz
2/5
Not really the sound I like. Appreciate the artist though.
The Band
4/5
When I listen to this album, it makes me realise that I was tensing before it started playing. It really relaxes me.
ZZ Top
2/5
ZZ Top just doesn’t do it for me. Sorry.
Nick Drake
5/5
One of the greatest albums of all time.
Stevie Wonder
3/5
An interesting album but weak in comparison to SITKOL.
Elton John
4/5
An absolute classic album. I wish my introduction to Elton was this studio album and not one of the 200 compilations.
David Bowie
5/5
I will always hold that this album is the best of the Berlin trilogy.
Mudhoney
3/5
This album has a great energy. It sounds like a band from the 80s capitalising on the grunge explosion but still held true to their style.
Nitin Sawhney
1/5
This album generator is proving to me that the late 90s produced terrible music. What the hell was this shit?
The Who
3/5
Probably The Who’s most overrated album. I understand its significance and originality for the time it was released, but they were still a singles band at this time. I can see for miles is one of their most annoying 60s singles, and it’s one of the highlights of this album. That being said, it’s still The Who so it still gets a 3.
Johnny Cash
4/5
Just an absolute classic
Red Snapper
1/5
Just shitty noise. Happy Valentine’s Day I guess.
Kate Bush
5/5
Hounds of Love gets all the attention and this album is secretly Kate’s best.
Lucinda Williams
3/5
I mean… sure. It’s better than some of these other late 90s/early 00s albums.
The Blue Nile
4/5
The 80s always surprises me. So many albums by artists I’ve never heard of from the 80s have been great. Need to revisit this one.
George Jones
3/5
Decent country. Not terrible!
Franz Ferdinand
4/5
A Scottish classic.
Cheap Trick
3/5
I love this album but all the best moments are near the end.
