Meat Is Murder
The SmithsYou either love or hate Morrissey...and I hate him. Hate is a strong word so I will just say I have never liked his whining sound.

Tons of distortion, metal, and noise. Not my cup of tea, but I see why it may be a big deal.
I could see how this is legendary!
Some standout tracks for sure, but Version 2.0 is a more consistently solid and well-produced album.
Neil Young is a god-like talent. I did not know this album but enjoyed very much.
How timely with Ozzy's death. Never was into him or Black Sabbath so I appreciate the intro to a great album. Supernaut is a killer track.
You canβt argue this album made lots of people rich, and so epic in one way. But essential?
Guessing they put ska on the map but not great music.
Good choice - Tricky is his prime!
Their sound is like a warm hug. So good.

Definitely deserves a place on this list. Grunge before grunge existed.
Meh
Another love 'em or hate 'em situation. Not my cup of tea
Strong opinion but this does not belong on this list
Sure, influential - let's go with that.
Somebody really needs to explain or justify why this album is on this list. This is why 1001 is really too many albums to consider which leaves the door open for "just okay" albums to get in.
Now we're talking. Definitely should be on this list.
Who dis? Never head of this band or album, and I would like to think I know "influential" things in music given my education and background. And after listen to the album, I still don't see it.
They have better songs. But the lead singer is cancelled now, right?
It created enough intrigue that I had to come back to it and listen to it a 2nd and 3rd time.
