Wonderful classic country from one of the godfathers of the genre.
Classic. Loved every note.
This is why I worry about the English. they really like this band. And Echo and The Bunnymen as well... please, please, no more of this.
CLASSIC! One of my favorites from the Stones.
This is their first release on Warner Bros. records. Not my favorite, nor the best IMHO, REM LP by any stretch. There are some very good, dare I say great, songs on here. Their first real grab at commercial success. The songs that were hits aren't the ones that stand out to me. It opens with a banger, which was a trademark of many REM LPs, "Pop Song 89", "World Leader Pretend", "You Are the Everything", "Untitled", "I Remember California", "You Are the Everything", "You Are the Everything", and "Get Up" would be my favorite tunes on here.
Not my bag of tea - A critical success with quite a few singles. Smooth pop. Not a horrible by any means. You do have to listen without prejudice… aaaahhh see what I did there ?
Good stuff by a band that just couldn't get along with each for ling stints at a time, or in their other group efforts under different band names.
This is the reason people love the Pogues !
Classic hook-based power blues hard rock!
The Queen of soul. Classic LP.
Not a fan per se but not a horrible listen
Some of the best ‘80s music there is !
Not their best LP but certainly one of their most popular. I personally love this LP. Hardcore fans say it is too pop.
Not a big fan of his but is the one LP I do own.
I've heard it's one of their best. I'll take your word for it. Not a fan.
Classic 80's rock from The Police. I love this LP.
One song... on an Lp of 17 total? This is a must hear LP?
A classic LP from the Queen...
Classic 70's rock. Good stuff.
I still feel like this is one of the most overrated groups of all time. Jack White's work after their breakup is better imho.
Quality stuff from Nile Rodgers and crew... These Are the Good Times!
RIP One of her best for sure.
Classic New Wave 80's LP from one of my favorites!
I’m sure it is great … not for me though
"The Gilded Palace of Sin" is the debut studio album by American country rock band The Flying Burrito Brothers. This LP has been widely regarded as an important album in the development of 1970s rock. Not a huge commercial success it does include 4 of my favorite Burritos tunes, "Do Right Woman", "Dark End of the Street", "Hot Burrito #1" [AKA "I'm Your Toy", "Hot Burrito #2". I really like this LP.
Supposedly great... not my thang.
Heavy metal at its finest …
Not a fan per se but I did enjoy this one.
Not a fan. It seems I should be, but I didn't hear anything that I liked.
Not a fan but it is pretty good
Only two tunes on here that I really care about, "Even Better Than the Real Thing", and "Mysterious Ways". Not a fave of mine.
Prog rock at it's finest.
Not bad, not my cup of tea per se.
Excellent LP! Start to finish a classic!!
I love this guy ! Great record
Not my fave indie rock but not bad
Early fave! Can’t get better than early Beatles !
LOVE IT! Of all of their LPs this is my favorite.
I do like The Who, quite a bit, but I've never really cared too much for this live LP. I know, I know, "It's the best live LP ever !!". Yeah, I'm not having it. Way too long and drawn out and quite a few songs I'm not that crazy about to begin with. Oh well.
Another classic favorite from Dylan.
I appreciate the need and the place in history of thei band and LP. It does strike me as "punk for punks sake", i.e. just making music to piss off the man. Mission accomplished. Note to future would be punkers: It's okay to have a catchy melody and hook. ;)
Just discovered him this past year. Some really cool stuff.
aahhhhhh.... I love both of these guys but that's a no for me dawg. I bet Laurie Anderson liked this though... :) ;P
Another that is not my bag of tea but this is a truly great record.
One of my very favorites from Dylan.
I LOVE BRIAN ENO! But not this Brian Eno... He's on this list several times, no?
yeah. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with these guys. I like one song by them but it's on a different LP.
Here ya go! Love this one. Probably my fave by Bowie.
Heavy soul sound from a "blue eyed" pop band. A really enjoyable LP.
Classic Tom Petty. This is way before Dave Stewart and Jeff Lynne ruined his music. Straight up rock and roll. This is a great record.
I'm sure it is good but it's not my thang.
Probably great but I'm not a fan of this one. I love most of his other stuff though.
My favorite by U2. IMHO their best.
What a kick ass debut LP!! All killer no filler!!
Great record ! I’m not sure why that goofy hillbilly felt a need to cover her already perfect version of “Fast Car”. But she says she’s cool with it so whatevs.
Couple of good tunes on here but I don't get why anyone would say you have to hear this before you die.
Not a big fan but I do appreciate these guys for what they are, raw rock and roll!
Not my fave by Lou but not horrible.
ooohhh my. Single most overrated alt band from back in the day? Maybe. Not a fan. I do like the idea of them though. Just not their music.
I was sooo happy when this one came out! I love this record !!
I like the guitars on this one.
At this point I have to ask what the criteria is to get on this list?
Groundbreaking...? Maybe. I'm not a big fan of rap music per se but there are some really good moments on this LP.
eeehhh... These guys definitely have their moments.
The LP that broke up van Halen. Some of my favorites by the boys on here.
hmmp not bad at all. Not really in my bailiwick but I do like this one.
I really like this record.
nah. I understand a lot of people like these guys. I am not one of them. Their LP, "Funeral" was ok. I simply find nothing redeeming in their work.
Not a big fan but it is good stuff.
I like Tom waits but not this one per se...
Love this one. Full of ear worms! "Scenes From an Italian Restaurant" is still my favorite on here. This is the LP that put him in the limelight.
I don't think it gets any better than Sam Cooke when it come to R&B.
"Imagine" and "Jealous Guy" are pretty good. "How Do You Sleep", his dig at former Beatle band mate Paul McCartney, is only notable for that reason. Outside of his LP "Double Fantasy" Lennon never really had a great solo record IMHO.
Sorry I'm just not a fan of his or this type of music.
oh yeh! I love GBV! But, IMHO, this is not one of their better LPs. Robert Pollard, the only constant member, has almost 3,000 songs registered to his name with BMI. GBV have recorded 42 LPs and 21 EPs.
Pollard went to Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio, where he once pitched a no-hitter for the baseball team.
I love this DOUBLE LP! Their final recording and what a way to go out!
Not a big fan... or a fan at all really. Hard for me to listen to.
Hell yeah! R&R R&B at it's best !
While I truly believe that Siouxsie And The Banshees are important to R&R I do not care for any of their music. I'm assuming this is their best work?
Not bad. Not my favorite by her by any stretch.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this! Front to back a great LP!
Not a fan of these guys per se... I suppose it's not bad. I am really not a fan of this style of pop/alt(?) music.
Lol. God no. That's absolute shit.
Yes please. A very, very good record.
Not bad, certainly not great. Innocuous pop. I've never understood what the fuss with The Beach Boys was all about.
Great record and a full on live jam start to finish!!
Often heralded as their best LP, and it is a great one, but not my fave or their best (Tim) IMHO. I do love this record though.
Another artist that I like the idea of more than their actual work.
I like Rod Stewart but not this LP per se. And for the love of Pete do we really need yet another version of "Cut Across Shorty", or any version of it at all?
eeehhh... There is one decent tune for me on here... I'm seriously questioning, and have been for a while now, some of the LPs chosen for this list.
Not what you’d expect from The Bee Gees but I like it! Very ambitious to say the least, a double LP concept album.
I love me some Bowie! This is one of my favorites by him.
YES! My favorite, and his best IMHO, LP from The Boss. Not a weak spot on here.
Not my thang per se but I did rather enjoy it.
"Bloody Well Right", "Dreamer" are the two stand out tracks for me. I like Supertramp but not at album length. Single by single I like them.
Fun record. Some quality tunes on here for sure.
This might be great. I'm not a fan of them or this LP.
lol wow. No thanks. Kinda disappointed there isn't a -1 rating.
I've heard worse. Not a fan of this one.
Not a real big fan of Genesis but I do like this LP.
Not digging it 100%, Got some grooves on there, I've heard a lot worse though.
he he he. Yes, yes, yes, we all need to hear this just once in our lives...
Some good stuff on this one.
Definitely the best in the repertoire. Still not a big fan of theirs.
A lot of folks revere him, a lot hate him. I'm not interested.
This is a really nice smooth pop LP. I like it.
Great, classic, and era defining music. Bravo!
OH YEAH! One of my faves by Zeppelin!
OOOoooohhhh my! My fave from them!
One song. I'm not sure how she's had such a fruitful career.
lord no. Not completely horrible I suppose, but they are not for me.
Another one I don't understand the appeal of...
The benchmark for the TV series. Quite an event and a great record.
It the best Bowie but is okay
I love Stevie, but not this LP per se. "Superstition" is absolutely phenomenal though. 3 stars just for that tune.
He's got a couple of tunes I like.
Worth it just for "Heroes".
Not my thang but it is good.
Lord no. I'm familiar with his work and I have never cared for it.
He was a racist and a pedophile. I'd give him a -10 if I could.
AC/DC but with bad songs.
Good stuff from back in the day.
lol. no. -5 If I could...
wow. Powerful and politically, socially conscious. Not a fan though.
So it literally takes nothing at all to make this list? -5
Not a big fan, or a fan at all really.
I love this is record. "Race for the Prize", "A Spoonful Weighs a Ton", "The Spark That Bled', "The Spiderbite Song", "Buggin'", "What Is the Light?"
, and "The Gash" are my favorite moments on this LP. Well worth a listen. ;)
wow. How is this is a must listen to LP?
The Beatles really liked him... and HE really liked HIM... lol
Not a fan... well played though.
Quite a few "band' classics on here. Most notably, "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down", "Up on Cripple Creek", and "Whispering Pines".
Again? One of the most overrated bands on this list. They are on here at least twice if not more...
