Another day, another Punk album I hate. Compared to Junkyard, Damaged sees a bit more of goodness; I could actually bear a full listen. That being said, I didn’t; enjoy it. The quality quite literally dropped immediately, with the only semi-enjoyable track being Rise Above. All in all, Damaged is a trash album. Best Song: Rise Above

The t-shirts and logo are cool. The music utterly worthless. It's as if they wanted to create the most idiotic and ugliest music possible. One recommends the chapter in Michael Azerrad's excellent book to listening to this toxic noise.

There will be an end of the spectrum for punk, metal, and possibly some other genres that is gonna be unappreciate-able for me, and this Black Flag album is at that end of the punk spectrum. Six Pack is slightly more engaging than the first two tracks. But barely. Oh my days the vocals are so bad, the mixing is so bad. Its not even loud and punky enough. TV Party is an embarrassment. This is really hard to listen to. Its so difficult to relate to this noisy angst in 2023, it just gives me angry irrational white man vibes. Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie maybe the least bad song so far. My favourite moment of the album was the abrupt stop at the end of Life of Pain. If you separate context and influence from the music, there is as close to zero redeeming quality to this as is conceivably possible. 0.6/5

This is definitely a punk album. Short songs, fast paced, heavy sounds, lots of talking about just wanting to have beers with friends. Did not do it for me, would not want to listen again. No songs that stick out positively. 1/5

Kept the Spotify station after listening and discovered it’s not just Black Flag. this is not the genre for me. Very muddy and difficult to hear the lyrics which surprises me as I am aware of Henry Rollins’ spoken word stuff. Best enjoyed by sweaty men colliding with each other violently in a mosh pit, which is something I have never understood the appeal of

I can see whey this album was largely ignored by critics and the public at the time of its release - the big mystery is how it got on this list.

It's not that i don't like metal/heavier music, it's just that this ain't it for me

Boring, repetitive, ugly noise. The instrumentation on songs such as "TV Party" and "Gimmie Gimmie Gimmie" would at least be tolerable if it weren't for the thoroughly grating vocals. If this is what anarchy sounds like, I'd rather just be a conformist. Out of the 10 albums I've listened to from this site so far, this is the first I can not imagine revisiting a single track from. This particularly nasty brand of hardcore punk is just not for me. Standout tracks: None

I hate the singers voice so much Im sure this is a great album that was influential and helped grow punk but I am not a fan of punk so I give this a 1/10

I found this ok, but maybe a little too much over breakfast. When it got to ‘Gimme Gimme Gimme’ I was hoping for an ABBA cover…

Pretty rough album that may be the most punk sounding album I’ve heard. The lyrics are messy. The vocals aren’t good. The instrumentals are chaotic. It’s punk but not the kind I like. 2.7/10

punk never really did much for me, always felt you had to be there to really appreciate it this album really could be 2/3 the size or length 1 - terrible, can't stand any of it whereas Another Music In A Different Kitchen had something for me at least this has nothing and could be parody and it would not surprise me just preachy screaming nonsense

Not my cup of tea. If you are into this kind of music perhaps they are among the best, but I honestly can't tell if this is a good or bad band within this genre. It's just noise to me and I was having a real hard time to even finish listen to the whole album.

I can see some people liking this album. It just really isn't my speed. This came across as ear-grating l, headache inducing nonsense. I'll stick with the Sex Pistols and the Ramones when I listen to punk rock.

Childish lyrics, tuneless shouted vocals, unsubtle instrumentation. If a comedy sketch show was to make a parody of a punk album, it would sound like this. One novelty song on an album can be fun, 15 is just tiresome.
