One of my favorite albums of all time by one of my favorite bands. There's no denying the songwriting here is great - the songs all have great melodies and the lyrics are clever and poetic in a good way. I would even say Darby was one of the best lyricists in punk, maybe music in general. The music is also great, very catchy, fast enough, energetic and short as it should be. I'll admit I often skip Shut Down, but it's not actually a bad song. All in all, an absolute masterpiece.
The first time I heard this album I didn't like it, but I re-listened to it now, and it turns out it's really good.
Very fun and enjoyable. There were some songs that I wasn't crazy about and would even skip (These Hands), but most were great. I can definitely see myself listening to this again.
Generally pretty good, I liked it more than I expected. Would've liked it more if it wasn't for the slow, spoken parts. Not really sure how to rate this. It would be a high 3 or low 4, but I think I'm gonna be generous and give it a 4.
I liked this much more than I remembered. I didn't like it much the first time I heard it and I always thought Love Bites and Singles Going Steady were much better. I still do, but I revisited this album and it turns out it's actually great too.
Had some interesting moments. Felt kinda cheesy at times. Overall okay, but I don't think I'll listen to it again.
Meh. Cheesy, poppy arena rock. Some of the songs are kinda catchy, I guess, it's not grating or offensively bad, just mostly boring.
Some catchy moments, but ultimately just inoffensive background music. Songs go on for way too long. Definitely not something I'd listen to again.
I didn't like it at first, but I found myself enjoying it more and more as it went on. A nice listen for sure, even if it made me cringe a little at times.
I know I don't like RHCP but I listened to a few songs anyway. This is just bad.

Enjoyed this. Got me interested in hearing their first album, which I preferred.
Didn't finish it. I may be a bit harsher on nu metal because I used to like it when I was younger, but really, there's a good reason I don't listen to it anymore. It's all just so boring. All the songs I listened to were under 3 minutes, but I checked to see how much longer I have to listen for all of them. The music is so generic. Not a huge fan of the vocals, either.
I liked this more than I expected to based on the cover. It was actually pretty enjoyable.
Great album. I didn't like Turn Blue, way too weird, but the rest I really enjoyed.
Pretty good. 7/10. Not as strong as my other 4s but better than the 3s.
I really liked this. I had high expectations and this album exceeded them. I will definitely be listening to this again.
I don't like rock operas and this album didn't change that, but I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would. 2.5/5
The first time I heard this album I didn't like it, but I re-listened to it now, and it turns out it's really good.
I've never liked folk punk and this album didn't change my mind. Some of the lyrics caught my attention (in a good way), but musically it just fades into the background most of the time. There were some fun moments, but it just doesn't do much for me.
I liked this a lot. Some songs dragged a bit and felt too long, but most of it was great.
Too slow, too long and very samey. It's also kinda generic, the only song I'd heard before was Rooster (and possibly Would?, but I didn't make it that far), but I felt like I'd listened to these songs hundreds of times before. Some of it is catchy and I guess that, along with the familiarity is why people like this album/band, but I can't get into it.
A couple of great songs, otherwise fine, but not something I'd come back to.
Liked this more than I expected to. It's too long, but I enjoyed it throughout. 3.5/5
One of The Offspring's good albums. I don't listen to it often, but enjoy it when I do.
Better than I expected from a "punk" album that's 43 minutes long with only 14 songs, but still not very good. The songs are too long, too slow, and both too melodic and not catchy enough. 2.5/5
Better than Roots for sure. Not very memorable but I enjoyed it while listenig.
Third time listening to this album. Didn't like it the first two. It's not as boring as I remember, but I still couldn't really get into it.
The title alone makes me not want to listen to this. The music itself is fine. I think I like this more than The Queen Is Dead overall, even though The Queen Is Dead has higher highs. Still not enough to push it to a 3.5.
On the first song and already hating it. Why is this even on this list? It got slightly better later on but not much. All I hear is some girl trying to be all cutesy and pretending she's tough. But this is nothing more than some poppy bullshit passed as something more because it's noisy, I guess. Not really punk either, and it's gonna tank my average for a genre I like, which kinda makes me hate it more.
Another one that I enjoyed more than I expected. Not something I'd seek out, but it's a nice album.
This album is great and definitely doesn't deserve to be the lowest rated album on this website. I liked the first half more than the second, but it was good all the way through. 4.5/5
Pretty enjoyable at times, other times it gets too self-indulgent with the technical wankery. 2.5/5
Not a fan of live albums, but the songs are good. MIght check out the studio versions at some point.
Liked this more than I expected to. I was ready to turn it off after the title track, but it grew on me after that. 2.5/5
While some songs were kinda weird and not really my thing, and while I would've preferred this as four 20-minute albums, I enjoyed most of it a lot.
I didn't expect to like this, but it was actually pretty fun... at first. I don't know if the album just drops off or if it was too much of the same thing, but I got bored by the end.
This is great. Will definitely be checking out more of their stuff.
Too poppy for my taste, but not bad otherwise. 2.5/5
I've always thought The Clash were overrated. This album is fun and catchy enough, but nothing really impressive. Police & Thieves almost made me drop my rating to a 3, but it redeemed itself with the last two songs. 3.5/5
I've had three The Who albums so far, and I can deal with that. They weren't bad, I enjoyed all of them to some extent. But now I'm getting a live album that has those same songs on it, and I just don't see the point. This album shouldn't be on the list.
I vaguely remember hearing some Dictators songs before and not liking them because there was too much classic/arena rock influence. Pretty sure they were from a different album, though. In any case, I enjoyed this one, it's pretty fun and catchy, even though I did think there was a bit too much arena rock in this too at times.
Kinda all over the place. I enjoyed some of it, some of it was boring. The whole thing is too long.
After reading the description on Wikipedia I really didn't expect to like this, but I ended up enjoying it and it didn't even feel as long as it is. 3.5/5
Not a fan of the vocals. The music isn't very good either, but at least it's not grating. Probably would've been a 1 if I could hear the lyrics more clearly/if I was paying attention to them, based on how people describe them.
I already didn't like their other album on this list (I hope there's "only" two) and this one is even worse.
I like this album a lot, but it doesn't have any of my favorite Minor Threat songs. I prefer the other version of Out of Step, and in general, the material on the Minor Threat and In My Eyes EPs. One of those or one of their compilation albums would've been a better choice IMO.
I enjoyed this, but it definitely goes on too long. It's not just the album length, but I feel like every song should've been half as long, if not even shorter.
I think this is one of the most overrated albums, well, I don't know, maybe ever. I've heard it a few times before, but I've never thought it was one of Green Day's best albums. Really, they only made four good albums and it's the first four. Now, I'll admit there are some songs on it I kinda enjoy. I was gonna give it a 2 because it pisses me off how overrated it is, but I have to be honest, and when comparing it to other albums I've rated, I like it enough to give it 2.5, rounded up to 3.
This was fun. It dropped off in the second half, but I enjoyed it.
Listened to the German version. I liked it a lot, it pulled me in and felt shorter than it is.
Not the worst thing I've ever heard, it just fades into the background. Despite that, I couldn't not notice how generic it sounds, which does make me drop my rating a bit.
I used to like this when I was younger, but there's a reason I grew out of it. This was very samey and too long and I just don't enjoy it anymore.
I groaned when I saw I got yet another Kate Bush album. But it turned out this one wasn't as bad as the other two. I wasn't crazy about it, and maybe it's because I've had a string of bad albums, but I thought it was okay. 2.5/5
I'm not a fan of classic rock, but I definitely like AC/DC more than most classic rock bands. This album was fun all the way through. Not crazy about the last song, but other than that, great album. Made me tap my feet and put me in a good mood, what more can you ask for?
Great album. Catchy and fun as fuck, I could (and do) listen to this over and over and never get bored. In fact, I like this sound so much that many of the bands I listen to just straight-up copy it. There's a reason why this album was so influential on punk in general and why an entire subgenre of pop punk formed around it. This is what an album should be like--upbeat, energetic, catchy, under 30 minutes with over 13 songs. The first three Ramones albums are all classics that deserve to be on this list and this one might even be my favorite out of them.
I used to love this when I was an angsty teen, and, if I'm being honest, I still like it as an angsty adult. Maybe not as much as I used to, but I enjoyed it.
This was about as bad as I expected it to be. It's too poppy and girly and I couldn't stand that cutesy voice they were doing. I usually hate feminists and feminism, but it didn't bother me here, probably because I couldn't even take them seriously. The best they could do is make me roll my eyes at the ramblings of some dumb little girls.
While it had some fun moments, I wasn't really impressed. It's poppy, but not in a good way. I like pop punk, but this just felt safe and middle of the road and like they didn't really fully want to commit to anything. I didn't mind listening to it, but it's just boring and didn't hold my attention much.
Not a fan of manufactured bands. Purely musically, it's okay, kinda catchy but pretty generic and subdued without any real energy to it. Even just listening to it, it sounds like they don't even wanna be there and don't really believe anything they're saying. If I didn't know anything about the band, I'd give it a 3, but I'm docking a point for lack of authenticity. I'm also pissed by how overrated they are. There was so much better punk made before this album, but I guess people like this because it's so accessible and commercial.
I wanted to like this more than I did. It picked up in the second half, but most of it was pretty boring. Now, if more songs on this album were like Sally MacLennane or Billy's Bones it could've easily gotten a higher score, but they aren't.
Liked this a lot. 4 for now, but I think it might turn into a 5 on repeated listens.
2.5, I guess. Probably their worst album out of the ones I've heard so far.
I love The Undertones' self titled, but I don't return to this one as much. Still, it's a great album. Maybe closer to 4.5, but I always round up and I've had so many bad albums recently.
This one was more grating than the other Deep Purple albums this generator made me listen to.
This was okay, pretty enjoyable but not something I'd listen to again. At times I considered going up to 3.5, but it was too cheesy overall to get there.
I liked this a lot more than the other albums I've had by them. I thought I gave both previous ones a 2, but apparently one of them got a 3. I don't remember that one at all, but I probably like this one better. 3.5/5
It started out pretty fun, but it got a bit much by the end. The vocals bothered me throughout the entire album. I considered giving this a 3.5, and maybe I would have if the singing was better.
I like early Black Flag, but I've always thought Damaged marks the point where they stopped being good. But I haven't heard it in a long time, so I listened to it again today, and my opinion didn't change. There are some decent songs here, but even those come with caveats. Rise Above is nice, but it sounds very similar to We Must Bleed by the Germs , which is a much better song (and band). Six Pack is fine, but I prefer the EP version. On the other hand, there are some pretty fucking bad songs here, like TV Party. What were they even thinking with that one? I also didn't like the long and/or slow songs like Damaged I and II that were pretty hard to listen to and are a sign of what was to come, which was nothing good.
This is fine, but I don't really see the point when there's already other Motorhead albums on this list.
Still don't like folk punk, but better than expected. Might even be a 3.5/5.
