Reviews (page 9 of 14)

I’ve known this album for years, but I’d never listened to it all the way through. There are so many different versions, like mono and first versions. Sometimes I actually prefer them to the 2022 mix. I loved hearing their laughter, it made me really happy.

Yellow Submarine giving Pretty. Odd. by Panic! At The Disco although I'm pretty sure that was Ryan Ross's intention anyway. Was over before I knew it

A few weak spots among the several iconic bangers

Classic FS: yellow submarine

8/10 09.04.2025

Some of the most timeless classics of the Beatles' career, bogged down by a series of forgettable and thematically incongruous tracks. I think they let John get his hands on a few too many. Highlights: Eleanor Rigby (duh), Yellow Submarine (of course), I'm Only Sleeping, Here There Everywhere, Your Bird Can Sing

le début des emmerdes mais les douceurs du malheurs 💃🏽 miam sur miam sur miam

Did not like them originally, enjoyed about half the album intensely

Yellow Submarine sucked but the rest of this album is pretty good. it doesnt hit like the regular music i listen to but its nice to hear something outside of my comfort zone. I should've been keeping a record of individual song ratings but i'll do this next time. ~4/5

Better Beatles but still a class album

Not very cohesive but an absolute game changer of an album

One of the two albums where they were at their absolute creative peak but my socialist principles preclude me from giving five stars to an album that leads off with the putrescence that is "Taxman."

The beatles being the beatles. Still don’t know if i am going to listen it on a daily basis but i really enjoyed it

eleanor rigby is for me, the most magical song from the beatles, and it definitely contributes to the rating of this album. found so many songs that i knew about, but forgot. new fave: here, there and everywhere

hørt en del før. er bra men ikke beste beatles

I've been saying for a little bit that I'll need to redo some of my ratings and redo bits of my list because I've been rating too high, and this is the album lots of others will be benchmarked against going forward. So, one of my hotter takes. I like this album a lot but I just can't bring myself to love it. I think a few songs do just too little to justify being here which is a shame because well... it's Revolver! I love the Beatles, I really do. I think this album has their second best album closer in Tomorrow Never Knowns and one of Paul's and John's best moments in their whole careers in "Here, There and Everywhere" and "I'm Only Sleeping" respectively, both of which are top 10 Beatles songs. Elanor Rigby is beautiful and I've heard a number of times that people hear this when they were kids and it blew them away, a pop song about lonely people and death and things pop just usually wasn't about in that time, all over a very unique soundscape. Good Day Sunshine and For No One are tracks that still sound great, and even if very shallow and kiddie Yellow Submarine is still damn catchy. I seriously adore half of this album and hold it in very very high regard but the other half just doesn't do anything for me, and never has. In terms of meaning to me and legacy I am deeply tempted to give this a 5 but no, I think this will be the yardstick and probably the highest rated 4 I'll give. Until I hear it again in two years and finally love it like everyone else does, anyway. I will sing the praises of many many many Beatles songs on this list, it's just a shame this was the first I was given as it's my take that definitely goes against the grain. But I'd always say this is valid for this list and you should give it a listen. Everyone else gets more from this than I do, and that's okay. Best songs: Here, There and Everywhere / I'm Only Sleeping Worst songs: N/A Rank compared to everything else so far: 16/43 (below LA Woman, above Nevermind the Bollocks)

Love love love

Jes i mean peak men det vet vi allerede hallo så clean album 4/5

As much as I have tried to get over it, Yellow submarine just gives me the ick. Otherwise no complaints

7/10 Best songs: Eleanor Rigby, Got to Get You into My Life, Tomorrow Never Knows Such an interesting album, yet not a particularly good album, if that makes sense? Every song is very different from one another which messes with its cohesiveness, and often makes me feel confused about where it's going (and what it's doing). Although there are a few clunkers, there are some classic tracks here, and Eleanor Rigby is instantly one of my all-time favorite songs. It's funny that people deride TikTok songs for being so short when the Beatles were doing the same thing back in the 60s - so many of these songs are so short that I barely get an impression of them before we're off to the next one. One thing I do really appreciate is the sheer breadth of musical instruments used - someone in this band was very, very interested in trying new sounds, which I can never fault.

pretty good, saved 8/14 songs, rate like aaaaa maybe 7/10

My ranking of Revolver: 1. Tomorrow Never Knows 2. Here, There and Everywhere 3. For No One 4. I’m Only Sleeping 5. She Said She Said 6. And Your Bird Can Sing 7. I Want to Tell You 8. Got to Get You Into My Life 9. Good Day Sunshine 10. Eleanor Rigby 11. Taxman 12. Love You To 13. Doctor Robert 14. Yellow Submarine

Great sound. Songwriting and production definitely hold up

I’m not going to say I understand the influence of this album but I did enjoy listening to this more than I expected.

ovo je kjut

yay ots beatls

Dreamlike quality. Best song is "Here There, and Everywhere."

Truly enjoyed how they communicated through music and told a story, all while being so experimental with new sounds.

Some really good bangers and some interesting songs on there!

Another Beatles album, hooray. This one has been the best of the four I’ve had. Pretty much all the songs are good, they’re all around 2 minutes long, and Eleanor Rigby is my favorite Beatles song, so this will score a solid 4/5 from me. Only like 7 more Beatles albums to go!

Few hits, other good!

אלבום ראשון שלי של הביטלס מאוד מאוד נהנתי מוצלח מאוד

- edellinen mulle heitetty beatles levy oli aika paskaa (white album) - on tää pal parempi ku white album - yellow submarinesta tulee mieleen vaan lintsin edesmennyt vekkula (rip) - tää oli iha hyvä platta! ei niin lapsellinen meno ku monilla muilla beatles levyillä

I think this is an actual classic u need to listen, i’m not like such a big fan of the beatles, but actually in this album they had some greats songs. I’ll give it another listen.

I wish it was recommended at a sunny day or a better day, or a day before I'm 30 and my country is being invaded and it's all a shit sandwich (a national cuisine in a way, not much sorrow about that, just an observation) A very talented and beloved child showing a picture they drew. It's nice and colorful and it worth putting on the fridge, but all I can think of is that I gotta pay the bills and the kid is blissfully unaware. They might be unaware for the rest of their life and I wish they are Eleanor Rigby is the fave. Got the hype immediately. The rest ...3.9/5

Any album that has "I'm Only Sleeping" and "Tomorrow Never Knows" is a good album in my book.

Not the best Beatles IMHO but some bangers here. Psychedelic!

Lovely, lovely Beatles. Always a joy 4/5

Might seem wild to some but I've never listened to the Beatles. I know all the hits but that's about it. But I really loved this album.

Solid listen but I guess I don’t know my Beatles history well because I always thought Yellow Submarine was only in its own album. This album will be in rotation.

Once again, can't go wrong with the Beatles. Revolver was another one of those albums played often in the house growing up.

Good classic Beatles album

guess i like the beatles now

Amazing how this could be about someone’s 5th best album

Only a 4 because it's far from the Beatles at their best.

Some Beatle fans claim this is their favorite album, I am not one of them, but you can't deny the songs on here, their staying power and all the radio hits from top to bottom. Everyone knows "Taxman" (68M listens) and it's been covered a ton too. "Eleanor Rigby" (345M) is a giant classic rock favorite. "Here There And Everywhere" (146M), the unforgettable earworm "Yellow Submarine" (164M), "Good Day Sunshine" (60M) & "Got To Get You Into My Life" (70M), all radio hits you can still hear any day of the week. Then you toss in glue tracks like "I'm Only Sleeping" (70M), "For No One" (108M), & "Tomorrow Never Knows" (47M). Solid from top to bottom with only one or two throwaways ("Love You Too", "I Want To Tell You", "Doctor Robert") and you can see why this one easily makes the T1001. Beatles fan or not, and they have a ton of albums on this list, you can't deny their pop sensibilities, longevity and the plethora of hits. Not my favorite, but 4 stars because of all the things I just mentioned.

Favorite Track: Tomorrow Never Knows

I like it how I like most beatles albums I've listened to. It feels like one beatly mess with 1 or 2 ultra iconic bangers. Eleanor rigby is of course great and iconic. Yellow submarine is also good. But I find myself lost in the same kind of style for the other songs. I get the beatles influence. But can't get myself to like their albums. (Except abby road <3). Got myself into them after getting songs stuck in my head, bumped this up to a 4!.

Some great songs, wouldn't be my cup of tea to listen to regularly as an album.

Classic mid 60s Beatles. Elenor Rigby is favorite song from the album

Amazing album. I already knew about 4 songs off this album but was just as interested in listening to the other songs that I’d never heard before. I can’t imagine how mind blowing and influential this would’ve been to listen to in the 60s. 8/10.

I enjoyed this a lot. Really easy listening and I obviously knew some of the songs already.

This is when they are starting to make the turn from catchy pop songs to Beatle brilliance. Tomorrow Never Knows could be a song from the 2000's. (Let Forever Be?) "wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door"

Great, Det är Beatles

I like this particular album.

Some really familiar songs though some I have not heard for a while

I liked this one. Has the thing that all the Beatles albums I’ve listened to so far has where I really like some songs and I think other songs are not good. At least with this one the tracks I didn’t like as much felt more average rather than actively bad. And they’re made up for by some songs I really enjoyed. The first song makes me angry though, unless there’s some history I’m missing, you’re the Beatles you can fucking pay your taxes. Fav song: Eleanor Rigby Least fav: Love You To

I really like this album but I also really like that it’s only 34 min. Glad they didn’t go on too much. Some of the eastern influence stuff not for me really but liked the general sound and Eleanor rigby is a banger. Also very fitting that about an hour after I listened to taxman HMRC emailed saying that they made a mistake and I actually have overpaid tax. Specific rating - 4.3 Fav song- Eleanor rigby Least fav- Love you to.

Oh no! We're rich now and they want us to pay taxes! Shut up! Think the Indian influenced Love You To feels a bit out of place as well. But overall it's a classic Beatles album, can't get much more Beatles than Yellow Submarine and Eleanor Rigby! It's got the proper Beatles storytelling and vocals, really can't complain (more than I already have). Favourite song: I'm Only Sleeping Least: Love You To

The Beatles' weird, experimental phase starts here. "Tomorrow Never Knows" is probably one of my all-time favourite "out-there" songs.

I mean, literally one of the most iconic groups of all time. I expected this to be good and was going in knowing a couple of these already. Really enjoyed listening to this. Definitely will check out more of their albums since i only really know the hits.

Good album but not as good as other Beatles

Now, I don't consider myself to be a Beatles fan. But they have done some stonkingly good tracks. And this album does feature a couple of their better ones. As a whole it is a nicely put together piece of work, and ordinarily would be worth 3 of anyone's points. However, does include one of my favouritest ever Beatles tracks. And they saved this gem right till last. Yes, Tomorrow Never Knows is such a fabulous piece of work it adds one point on its own. So I can't give it less than a 4.

Not my favourite Beatles.. But incredible Beatles. There are some incredible songs on this record. The couple of ballads on side 1 are both some of the greatest. There is also a huge range - from quite classic sounding, guitar heavy, Beatles, to the two sitar heavy songs, electronic exploration, pure whimsical psychadelia.. It's very impressive stuff, but it doesn't flow quite like the other records for me and slightly suffers for it.

I am not a huge Beatles fan. My best friend when I was growing up was, so I had many, many, many, hours of Beatles albums played at me. Familiarity breeds contempt sometimes, so I tried to listen to this with as open a mind as possible. Leaving aside the anomalies of 'Yellow Submarine' and 'Doctor Robert' it is an excellent album. The problem with hindsight, though, is I know what other Beatles albums are coming and this sounds 'transitional' at times. Oh, well. A solid 4/5 from me.

Really interesting. Never been much a fan of the Beatles, but there is creative choices made in that album. Sounds innovative for the time. Might change my mind about them. Maybe not something I'd listen regularly though.

Sounds old, aside the couple of hits I couldn't really connect with the album

My first Beatles album on the list! It’s a 4/5 for me, not my favorite of theirs but still great nonetheless.

Great album

Not my favorite by them, but my dad liked it so that counts for something I guess. It does have some songs I like though, I will say that. Favorites: Taxman, Eleanor Rigby, Yellow Submarine

klinkt ook als de voorloper van Sgt Pepper

A very good beatles album

Revolver is one of my favorite albums by The Beatles. My favorite song on the album is “I’m Only Sleeping.” I first heard it when I was twelve. The sound felt distorted and as if it came from another world. It was truly sensational.

Mixing slightly off but great nonetheless.

Good Beatles album

What are your go-to "first date" questions? You know, a question that will tell you just about everything you need to know about a person right away? Mine are: What was the last book you read? and which do you prefer, Beatles or Stones? For my entire life, I've been in the Stones camp. They're undeniably more "rock and roll". But you know what, the more Beatles I listen to, the more my opinion is changing. The Beatles are just better songwriters. It's tough to change an opinion of yourself that you've held about yourself for a long time, but hey- there is no growth without change.

classic, innit!

Yeah I bet Tomorrow Never Knows was mind blowing to someone on LSD in the 60's, but now it's just underwhelming. There are a fair few bangers here though, the singles Eleanor Rigby and Yellow Submarine being the highlights in my eyes. I just don't buy the hype surrounding this one, pretty much all the Lennon songs are with the exception of I'm Only Sleeping are kinda mid, Mccartney and Harrison carry. Just about 4 Stars.

Added album to library. Love every song.

Second favourite beatles album i think, love it.

Ok, pretty much the definition of a classic album. I always preferred The Beatles to the Rolling Stones, and this album has probably one of my all-time favourite Beatles tracks on it (Eleanor Rigby). I do find Yellow Submarine quite jarring these days - but I think I associate it with being a kids song. Overall a brilliant album, and twittering between a 4 or a 5.

Highlights are, I’m only sleeping, here there and everywhere, for no one. Yellow Submarine really the only skip.

Boo hoo whining about progressive taxation... I really liked "I'm Only Sleeping" which I think I hadn't heard before? Here, There and Everywhere is beautiful as always. Tomorrow Never Knows is one of the best closing songs of an album ever. And one of the Beatles best songs (might be the best song John Lennon ever wrote). I am struggling with whether I preferred this album to Rubber Soul and Abbey Road or not (these are my tops of the albums we've had so far - sorry to With The Beatles, A Hard Day's Night and the White Album). I think the truth is that they are all high 4 star albums for me - I liked them all!

La grabación es muy diferente y muy dedicada

Rly good

Strong 4

Good classic album which I have already listened.

I really thought this would be the Beatles album I give a 5 to. Heard so much about how much LSD and Acid Lennon and Harrison did and how experimental they got on Revolver. They did pull a few tricks from their sleeves for sure and this is an excellent album and I realize I’m walking myself down from a 5 but I really just wish they did more of the cool shit they did on Tomorrow Never Knows, it sonically awesome and I love that track. There are plenty of exciting sparks on this album, I’m Only Sleeping is possibly my favourite Beatles track, it’s beautiful. The sitar on Love You Too is really cool. I almost walked myself back to a 5 but I just can’t. The thing that always annoys me about the Beatles, they’re doing here again, they could be so cool but they toss in this needless fluff when they could have leaned fully into the fuzzy psych but they didn’t and for me, the fluff, as light as it is, drags this down to a 4 stars

loved for no one and others

Love it very much. Some Song I like more than others. Love the contrabass in eleanor rigby.

One of the greatest albums of all time

An evolutionary album where all 4 individuals started to explore their own music. Some classic songs mixed with experimental tunes that are mostly successful. Very influential to future artists.

Not my favorite Beatles album, but I enjoy it more than their earlier works.

A classic

very fun

I like everything but Yello Submarine.

Not my fave album but has some of my fave Beatles songs

She Said She Said is my favorite Beatles song of all time. Also, who doesn't like the album that created practically all of indie rock. Overall, a great listen and a lot of lo-fi/indie rock influences can stem from Revolver. Sadly, Blackbird is ruined for me due to work but overall good album. Very hard to rate since it's the Beatles and most music can be downstream from them.

For me perhaps their best album. Classic tracks such as Eleanor Rigby and Tomorrow Never Knows, not to mention Tax Man litter the album.. don’t think there’s a bad track on here

Beats rubber soul

i would’ve lost my freaking mind

Great album! Made with no intention to perform the songs live, which allowed them to make use of all the possibilities of a studio at the time, pushing the limits of what ”could be done” on record. There are a couple of tracks I could do without - mainly Yellow Submarine, which I mostly find annoying. That knocks a star off. 4/5

I get it

Definitely not my favorite but it has Elanor Rigby on it...so there's that.

I don’t have a strong opinion on what is my favourite Beatles album, this would probably rank high, particularly because it has one of my favourite Beatles’ songs in Eleanor Rigby. Maybe I prefer Abbey Road and Rubber Soul. I have to say though, Yellow Submarine feels a touch out of place on this album.

First ever Beatles album top to bottom, fantastic!

Classic. Highlights: I'm Only Sleeping, Here There and Everywhere, She Said She Said, Good Day Sunshine, For No One

A lovely day for a Beatles album. The production on this album is fantastic for 1966. Heralded as pioneers for experimental recording, “Revolver” proves why. The Beatles hold a mystique in my mind and are untouchable though Revolver falls short of perfection. Solid, solid 4.

An absolute classic

chill, did not finish it had to force myself to listen to it i prefer harder stuff i guess

I think my favorite Beatles album. Although I hate it opens with taxman (I wouldn’t like it anywhere but especially feels like wrong tone setting). Eleanor Rigby is a perfect song. Although I’m realizing this maybe means I don’t think the Beatles have any 5 star albums which feels strange but they have a bunch of 4

Love The Beatles. Revolver is a good album, not their best though.

I don't actually mind The Beatles after all. Plus it's only 35 mins long so wasn't a big investment. I enjoyed and would try again.

Is it the only Beatles record that matters?!

First real Beatles album I've listened to from start to finish. Knew a lot of the songs already. A great listen and they really did know how to write a good song.

Great Beatles record. Love the use of strings and sitar

this album marked the turning point of the Beatles from moving away from live performances and the introduction of their psychedelic era. since they didn't plan to tour, they used a lot of studio equipment to create some weird sounds and stuff outside of their standard live set-up. I don't think i thought about how short a lot of these songs were - 14 songs for 34 minutes. It's definitely a quirky album with some unique components around the instrumentation and choices around mics, etc. It's a fun album to be sure.

Classic

Some of the best pop to come out of the entire decade!

Masterpiece although last few songs didn't hit as hard as you would want

Might be my favorite Beatles album. The pretension is there, but its mostly ignorable.

a level music core

(3.75) not my fave beatles album but some of these are 10/10s

An amazing album that is very under appreciated compared many of their other later works

I enjoyed revolver it was one of the albums we always had in the car

Mostly feels like they were on cruise control for this one. Tomorrow Never Knows definitely stands out from the rest.

Have you heard of these Beatles guys? They’re pretty good. Some of the songs enter the classics catalogue, some are better left forgotten. Hard to judge it fairly but it’s so clear they were operating on a different level for good and bad.

One of the better beatles albums

It's the Beatles, blah blah blah. Of all their albums this one is a little more interesting. They were always way more interesting when they were doing drugs. Anyway it's fun and lighthearted and whatever.

Dad- 8.5 Mom- 9.5 Mike- NA Lori- 8.5 Michael- 9 Miles- NA Cole- NA Avg- 8.88

Closest one yet to get a 5

Yellow Sub, Eleanor Rigby 😘

Interesting early album, I imagine it'd have much more of a direction if it was more modern. It also caused my head to hurt a bit. 4/5.

Feels like an album where the parts are more than their sum. Seemingly incongruent songs lacking any kind of theme or thread, but as standalone songs most of them are B+ to A+. The Beatles certainly experimenting with every kind of sound imaginable here: strings, horns, sitar and other eastern instruments, their standard crunchy guitar, not to mention the cacophony of sound effects in Yellow Submarine (an outrageously silly yet fun song). Every tune is a toetapper. Great but not perfect - Four stars.

Pretty good for a Beatles record, haha.

I really do like this album and it's the Beatles album I come back to the most. Rubber Soul is good too. 4.5 stars for me (rounded down to 4). I think it's the pinnacle of their catalogue, it was all down hill from here.

That sounded a lot like Powerline from A Goofy Movie.

Eleanor Rigby is one of my favorite songs of all time, one of my top 3 beatles songs, and this album is just so freaking good. BUT it's not my favorite. It's really really good but some of it is just too experimental for me. So it's like a 4.5

favorite Beatles album

The best Beatles album I've heard; interesting that the band took this album as the breaking point for their touring schedule and moved forward as a studio-only group from here. Obviously a ton of progression from their earlier stuff (only 3 years or so before).

Not a big fan of the Beatles, but this album was a welcome change of pace, much more psychedelic than their original output

Solid album. One good thing about the Beatles is they have a very distinct sound, but not all their songs sound the same. I appreciated the variety of instruments on this album. Some Beatles songs are just kinda weird, but I liked most of the songs on this album. Eleanor Rigby is just so good. Love me some strings. 8.3 out of 10. Baker approved.

Ummm I was honestly a little disappointed by this album. Half of them sounded like songs you learn in kindergarten. They sounded like songs from schoolhouse rock. Especially Yellow Submarine. It just reminds me of “The Wheels on the Bus.” However, I started enjoying it a lot more towards the back half. The songs are all very catchy. There were a few I really liked. The raggy feel of the piano in “Good Day Sunshine.” “Here, there, and everywhere” was my favorite.

In terms of a Beatles album? Weak. Yellow Submarine feels like what they based all creepy kids shows from the ninety’s off of. Could be better but not the worst.

I am not sure if have ever listened to this record straight through. It’s disjointed and eccentric. Textures, timbres, tones vacillate from track to track. The record never stagnates, though, as fresh ideas constantly emerge. I can appreciate how quickly they explore a musical idea and then move on. But, on the flip side, there’s some ideas that I wish were fleshed out and developed more. Not every idea hits—the sitar song “Love to You” is a big miss. But the Beatles knew how to write songs. Some masterful gems sprinkled throughout the tracklist. “Eleanor Rigby,” “Here, There and Everywhere,” “Yellow Submarine” shine as high points showing the versatility of the Beatles’ excelling songwriting. I am not a super fan of how often vocals only come from one channel. It felt like it happened way too often. Tonally, there’s a coldness and tightness to the voices, guitars and drums, like the sound is clenched—a product of the era I guess. Still leaves me wanting more from a production standpoint. It’s a classic for a reason. Some bonafide bangers, creativity galore, meaningful moments help boost past an inconsistent tone, and often underdeveloped musical ideas. 8/10 P.S. I hate when songs fade out. Just end the song. Standouts: Eleanor Rigby Here, There and Everywhere Yellow Submarine And Your Bird Can Sing

Really nice album, would listen again

I have 7 different versions of this album. Steady4

Definitely one of the best Beatles album. Great mix of pop tunes plus a bit of experimentaiton too that holds together better than the White Album. A great re-listen.

Nokså traust midt-på-treet-plate dette. Kun veldig nødvendig å høre for blodfans.

Конечно не лучший альбом Beatles, но это не мешает ему быть одним из великих работ психоделического рока. На мой вкус в плане психодела Beatles сержант Пеппер выигрывает, потому ограничусь четырьмя звёздами

Very classic album. Clearly foundational to rock

Well. . . no doubt one the greatest albums of all time. Paperback Writer and Taxman are two of my favorites also Got to Get You into My Life

Classic. Some really great well known songs and a some awesome less known, like “Doctor Robert.” Not my favorite Beatles album though.

They never made a bad album.

Well, it is the Beatles but it is not their best album for me, great songs on it but sometimes quite weird and all over the place.

Structure is a bit strange and the album feels a bit out of order, but otherwise this has the Beatles on top form and really every song here is great.

it's a good album, it reminds me of pretty odd by panic at the disco, which makes sense bc im p sure that album was inspired by the beatles. smth smth yoko ono. who's the singer again? do they all sing? do they all have the same voice? i thought they all sung but it just sounds like the one dude, maybe they all do backing vocals. i could just click the wikipedia link to find out but i dont feel like it. eleanor rigby slaps as usual.

A classic for a reason!

Terrible album, son los beatles que mas se puede decir 4/5

-ugh idk -maybe 4 stars just for Eleanor rigby -tbh I want to give it 3

Sure, it's great, but they still hadn't reached their peak yet. They were knocking on the door of true genius, but Taxman, Good Day Sunshine, Doctor Robert, etc. are still stuck in their early mode of songwriting. For me it's Sgt. Pepper's when the five-star albums begin.

Not a top Beatles' album for me, but still contains several favorites.

everything is so perfect except for that one song I have to skip

Top!!!

Eleanor Rigby was possibly my favourite.

Good album - you can hear it as the bridge between the early pop and the later psychedelia…

One of the best Beatles albums

4.5 star

Another classic

⭐︎4.0 全体的に明るく、短い曲が多い。 このアルバムにこの曲入ってたんだーという感想。 エジプト?アラビア?なメロディの曲が多かった。 傑作とされるTommorow never knows はまだ良さがわからなかった。

First half of album is great but vocals by John ruin a few after that - quite annoying when driving but saves himself with Tomorrow never knows. Stand out songs - Yellow submarine, For no one, Tomorrow never knows

My favorite Beatles work are once they really started to get into Hallucinogenic drugs and started getting creative with the recording process. Revolver (and Rubber Soul which preceded it) were the first results of that combination.

Really good album.

Ranks up there with my favorite Beatles albums. Will stand by the opinion that "Yellow Submarine" sucks though.

So nice having an actual capital A Album again after drudging through the past week of mid-90s miasma. 4.5!

That's good

don't get me wrong it's a great album but there are like at least 3 Beatles album that I would put above this one

So so peaceful!! I absolutely love the vibes, lovey dovey at times, right amount of emotions and switch ups. Great listen from start to finish! Perfect album for a walk in the park or so. Beatles <3 so cheerful.

One of the greatest albums ever. Love most of the songs, and they are all classics. Hard to not give it a 5, but there were some songs that I didn't like a ton

One of their best. Eleanor Rigby... just great

Very cool cover art for 1966, especially compared to some of their earlier works. Really should've listened to some of The Beatles by now but never really got around to it, so this is my first real experience of them. It's very strange seeing the length of this record and some of the songs, since I was under the impression 2 minute songs were only a real thing in modern times. I do kinda like it, as it's impossible for any song to outstay its welcome. Some intros or outros would've been nice to process the tracks a bit more before the next one, but it is what it is. At least some tracks fade out but even then it feels like it ends before it should. With all that said, it's a nice listen. I can't say it's as close to a 5 as some of the other record's I've listened to on here, but it's definitely nowhere near a 3 either. Strong album with some good songs. Instantly, Taxman's instrumental sounded familiar but I'm not sure if that's just me or not. The vocal harmonisation is really cool and the instrumental is striking. I can't say I like how it's separated in each ear and I have a feeling that's gonna be a theme in the record, but I guess that's just a product of its time. Eleanor Rigby has nice panning at least. Didn't expect string instrument usage on here but it sounds really good, and the vocals are similarly fulfilling, the melodies are great. I'm Only Sleeping was a bit jarring with how quickly it got into it, after the sudden ending of Eleanor Rigby, but it's thankfully a relatively chilled listen. Not as good to me as the previous two tracks but I can appreciate its inclusion here, and it's not bad at all. Love You To takes a more unconventional tone instrumentally here, and it's pretty cool, even if I don't really like how it sounds personally. Going into the record I wasn't sure how varied it would be sound-wise so this is appreciated. Here, There And Everywhere is a lot more like what I'd expect from the record thus far. Another chilled track, sort of in the same vein as Eleanor Rigby, and it's very pleasant. Part of me wishes some of these songs gave us more breathing room in terms of intros and outros, but it's not a huge problem. I don't like Yellow Submarine. The added noises are distracting, the panning is annoying, and the instrumental and chorus are boring. At least it fades out at the end though, addresses my concern brought up with the last track lol. She Said She Said was cool, back to the vocal harmonisations I've been loving so far but the track didn't do as much for me as some of the previous ones. Pretty middle-of-the-road, in comparison. Good Day Sunshine is nice and cheery. They did a good job of capturing the feeling of sunshine with the vibe. The panning isn't great here but I don't think it's too offensive, and the song itself's good so I can ignore it here. Love the piano here. I wasn't too sure about And Your Bird Can Sing initially but thought it could grow on me, but as it hit its stride it already grew on me lol. Very cool. The guitar solos on here really make it. For No One carries on the streak of songs I'm enjoying, just really nice. I smiled at the trumpet(?), and the vocals are smooth like butter, but again it ends too abruptly!!! I'm surprised Doctor Robert is the lowest streamed here. It wasn't anything crazy and I'm not sure if I'd revisit it, but it sounds fine, nothing's really 'wrong' with it and I'd certainly choose it over some other tracks here. I even quite liked some sections. I Want To Tell You kinda sounds a bit predictable after what's come before it, but honestly I don't think I mind. It's a great sounding song, doesn't outstay its welcome, has some infectious melodies, and that's enough for me. Got To Get You Into My Life is a really strong track, some vocal strength that hasn't yet been showed on the record yet, along with a great, booming instrumental backing. Very surprising considering how far down it was. What is going on in Tomorrow Never Knows, it wasn't all that even to start with and then the weird experimental sounds are just off-putting. Ruined what would've been a decent end. FAVOURITES - Eleanor Rigby; Here There And Everywhere; Good Day Sunshine; And Your Bird Can Sing; For No One LEAST FAVOURITES - Love You To; Yellow Submarine; Tomorrow Never Knows

WE UP I used to really not like the Beatles...? My best friend developed a hyper fixation on them, and gradually I was introduced to more songs from them. I actually really like them! I LOVE the art done for this album. Klaus Voorman has an amazing style. I really really love it

You took this off the list whilst retaining 4 albums of risible shite from The Beastie Boys. I have no words.

Now you're talking. Great music has it should be and everlasting. Great album.

It's the Beatles. Definitely feels like that time period. Some good songs. Some I liked less

Ett bra the Beatles album helt enkelt. Catchigt och inte för komplext för min smak

Nicht das beste Beatles album aber immernoch sau stark 4/5

I had a colleague years ago who only listened to The Beatles. His theory was that they were the only band he ever needed due to their complexity and talent. Being a musicophile, I never got that. I mean, I liked the Beatles OK, but I didn’t get the hype. With this being my second Beatles album through the generator, I can safely say I get it now. Revolver is throughly enjoyable. It houses three of my favorite songs of all time. I love the production, the variety of instruments and sounds, and the way each Beatle’s personality shines through their individual contributions to the whole. The themes are simple, yet timeless. I can’t wait to delve into more of their albums.

Minus a star for Yellow Submarine because I'm a curmudgeon and I hate fun

really good beatles album, gets a little too silly for me sometimes

John, I’m only sleeping

I think it's really sweet that the band was cranking out hits like Eleanor Rigby and Ringo just plopped a little song on there about kicking it on a submarine with his buds

Kinda good. Certain songs were repetitive with them repeating the main chorus, but it was a certain breath of fresh air for me in general. Plus this album had THE Yellow Submarine.

Great album but not my top Beatles one.

I usually find The Beatles' experimental work quite hit or miss. It's clear that not every chamber in this Revolver is a hit either. The album is all over the place. Nonetheless, there are a couple of good ones on here, including top tier Eleanor Rigby. Not their best throughout, but an enjoyable Beatles album.

Yellow submarine is a great song i love it

I enjoyed the interwoven sitar features. It broke the album up a little and added a little spice. The flow was a little scattered at times, but overall a good listen

~The Beatles~ Great record - Paul Rudd

Great timeless tunes. Slick production. Great variety of styles. Individual inputs and strengths obvious. Classic

Incredible album of course… grows on me More every time I listen, and the same goes for the Beatles in general. I’m Only Sleeping one of the most beautiful songs ever, I wept listening to it

Eclectic yet cohesive

I had to take two listens to really form an opinion on this album, but that may be partially due to the fact that my first listen was while I was on the loud-ass work bus. This certainly isn’t my favourite album by The Beatles, but it’s still great. Taxman is a fun intro and does well at introducing the sound they’re going for in this album. The switch in tone between the first and second track is interesting, but it doesn’t lose cohesion. Eleanor Rigby is a classic that cannot be overlooked, however they’re all arguably classics in their own right, and it seems to set a more mellow tone for the rest of the album, until Doctor Robert, then returns afterwards. Tomorrow Never Knows is a great closing track and I love the sort of “wild” use of instrumentals like the violin that they go with at certain points, it feels like a build up of everything else in the album, which is really emphasized by their repetition of “of the beginning” at the end of the track. While I do wish the album was slightly longer, I do agree with the sentiment that it would grow repetitive if it was extended by much longer. Favourite track: She Said She Said Franz Kafka would be horrified to know a group of bugs could make such good music as his biggest fear is becoming a cockroach

Almost a 5 but feels like it's missing something

Classic Beatles sound as they evolved to their next phase. And they are some of my favorite Beatles tunes.

High 4

Classic album that I had never listened to

375/1001 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑

My favorite album from this journey so far!

i liked that one song about sleeping

An iconic album from one of the most influential bands of all time. Not their best, but pretty damn good.

Can't be giving 5 stars to an album with Yellow Submarine on it.

Nicht mein favorite Beatles Album. Und m. M. nach ist Yellow Submarine ein Quatschsong. Aber immer noch die Beatles, was willste machen

Some great songs on here obviously, but everyone except Ringo ("Yellow Submarine" is a good song, I don't care what everyone says!) also kinda has a dud too. Sorry, but you can't convince me that "Good Day Sunshine" and "Doctor Robert" aren't phoned in to pad the track list a bit! I go back and forth on if I like "Love You To" or not; right now the answer is no, but sometimes I actually really enjoy it! In any case, even in situations where I think it's a bit of a bust, this is still George's breakout album, with "Taxman" and "I Want to Tell You" both being highlights for me. And then there's "Tomorrow Never Knows", which everyone except me seems to think is an all-time classic. I've always hated it; it's tuneless experimentation for the sake of experimentation. I'm not totally opposed to experimentation for its own sake, but the underlying song has to be good first! But obviously, I can't rate the album with "Eleanor Rigby", "I'm Only Sleeping", "Here, There and Everywhere", and "She Said She Said" in addition to the aforementioned songs i really like anything less than a 4. I'm just contrarian, I'm not stupid!

Yellow Submarine was a big part of my childhood, weirdly.

When "Revolver" was released, the world got a taste of the Beatles' true potential. Many successful experiments followed this album. I'm one of the people who enjoyed "Revolver". There are many fun songs, like "Yellow Submarine" and "Tomorrow Never Knows". I think this album is my 4th favourite Beatles record. 4 stars for "Revolver"

What's there to say about this album?

Beatles albums are always good, some well known songs on this album. Revolver continues to be a great album.

I think I’m starting get it

Incredible album. Not my favorite, but so good.

Listening to this transported me to my 13 year old self - exploring music and on my Walkman in a car, then a bus and onto a ferry on a trip to La Paz Mexico - I remember wishing I could live in a submarine. What would the world be without this sound!?!

Good album. Iconic tracks.

She saaiiid I know what it’s like to be dead. Great album and thanks to Ravi Shankar and Doctor Robert for influencing the evolving sound of the Beatles during this era.

I had the good fortune to listen to Revolver for the first time after hearing Rubber Soul (also for the first time) a couple of weeks ago. The latter didn’t resonate with me at all. The Beatles’ outsized reputation completely obscured what I found to be an aggressively “okay” record. But with Revolver, I think I’m starting to understand a bit of the endless praise heaped upon the Beatles. I listened to this record in a group setting—explaining the mission of the 1001 list and walking friends through the seemingly impossible challenge of listening to, rating, and forming a fully developed opinion on an album each day for the next three-odd years. The group encouraged me to chuck on Revolver if I absolutely had to listen to it that day. We talked about the legacy of the Beatles, the contradictions in Lennon’s writing, the obvious influence of LSD on the sound, and even the occasional blandness—or that generic ‘60s’ sound—that sometimes crept into the tunes. But even in that setting—drink in hand, a wee bit bevved—some of these songs cut through the conversation and gave me pause. These songs: the craft, the writing, the sound profile—it’s all so completely different from everything that came before. In a week when the list churned out the Mamas and the Papas, it became that much easier to see how the Beatles were changing the game. Music no longer bound by the need to be replicated live opened the door to real innovation in the studio. That’s clear as crystal and should be recognised. And I realize I haven’t actually said a single thing I liked about any of these songs. They may hit differently in the cold light of day. But sharing the listening experience with others lifted this album in a way I’m not sure I’d have appreciated had I simply listened during my daily commute. Or could it just be that I listened to their music the way it’s supposed to be listened to? 🍻🍻🍻🍻 🥴

My mom's favorite album of all time. Definitely way up there for me, but my favorite Beatles album is Rubber Soul.

Legendary album from the GOATs. No surprise it's bangers only here. Truly superb listening experience. 8.7/10

SPEAKING OF, 2 Beatles albums in a row. A super diverse album but perhaps loses some of its coherence in that. Flashes of old and new Beatles but to me fees largely transitional. 4 stars for the quality of the songs. One lost star for coherence.

Acc really good, werent expecting that from this to be honest

What I like best are that the songs all seem to be small, self-containing universes? It doesn't sound like a record with an arc, but all tracks work. Even though there's a drug-addled silliness here and there, it doesn't break that particular spell. Perhaps because it's fairly short? Ending dampens the joy a bit though. Still, so much better than the Stones.

Сложно. Раньше, не очень любил этот альбом, но смотрю на список треков - и много отличных. Возможно, я просто думал, что он переоценен.

I didn't think I liked The Beatles, but I guess I was mistaken. This was actually the first album I felt needed a second listen right away. Not all of it was my taste, but there was enough on here to hook me.

great album

You already know that Tomorrow Never Knows is a great song! There are some really great progressive songs here. It’s no sgt peppers or white album but it’s right up there with the best of them. Great job lads!

One of their weaker albums in my book but still a top tier Beatles Album! They went on a generational run back then. (4.0/5.0)

Best song - I’m only Sleeping

I respect The Beatles but I don’t love The Beatles.

I don't consider myself a Beatles fan, though this album may have changed my mind. This is such a musically diverse (and interesting) set of songs, and its influence on other artists is so clear. I already want to go back for another listen. Standout tracks: Eleanor Rigby, Love You To, Tomorrow Never Knows

Probably my favorite Beatles album.

Not even a top 4 Beatles album but has many bangers, tails off towards the end though with filler tracks, 3.5 for me

I literally block the Beatles so every album is gonna be great in my eyes, but this is a very good album that everyone should listen to at least once, as with all Beatles albums!

Nice another one that I have been wanting to listen to. I know I should like the Beatles but I just can’t get into them. I’m guessing this is the record they started experimenting with hallucinogens? Lot of respect for them, the creativity, originality and i know this band changed a lot of people’s lives. Just doesn’t hit me like I think it should. I still give it 4 stars.

George Harrison isn't wrong on "Taxman." I have to get that out of the way initially. I have never loved Revolver (or the Beatles) as much as many others seem to. It's a good album and loaded new experimentation from the band, which is fun. The songs just aren't as strong as I enjoy on some of the other Beatles albums. Saying that, it's a strong album and there isn't really a bad song on here. Dr. Robert comes really, really close though. The highs are not as high and the lows are not as lows. Maybe I am grading them more on a curve. Good tracks include: Taxman Eleanor Rigby Here, There and Everywhere Yellow Submarine She Said She Said Good Day Sunshine For No One Got to Get You into My Life Tomorrow Never Knows

its a classic, but Beatles are of course extremely overrated

Classic Beatles, innit. Solid tunes, a little funky, a little weird.

Truly awesome. This must’ve been mind blowing at the time. I do prefer the later, fuzzier Beatles, but I can appreciate this as an integral step to n getting there.

first beatles album i ever heard and still my favourite

Som en privatskola med en identitetskris

The Beatles. Nothing else to say.

4.5 but rounding down / taxman is a terrible opener but Tomorrow Never Knows is a fantastic closer. I'm Only Sleeping is my favorite Beatles song. Generally enjoyable throughout though, The Beatles really exercising their creativity on this album for the first time (not bashing Rubber Soul, but Rubber Soul was much more cohesive in style still, while this felt like the first time they really stretched outside their comfort zone).

Ah the cool Beatles album of the moment. Used to be Sgt Peppers and then we all changed our minds. This album is great, with some absolute bombs. Yellow Submarine is unlistenable. Your Bird Can Sing is my favourite on the album, I wish Tomorrow Never Knows was about 12 minutes long.

classic psych rock

Lindo disco, aunque no sé si puedo decir que es el que más que gusta de los Beatles. "Eleanor Rigby" y "I'm Only Sleeping" son de mis favoritos.

Classic.

I'm not sure how many times I need to listen to Revolver before deciding that this is half decent. I prefer to pick and mix, listening to one off Beatles songs these days, as when the mood takes me. Eleanor Rigby was the choice for today. What an outstanding piece of storytelling. SO twisted and removed from the times.

Absolutely fantastic album. Here there and everywhere is such a beautiful song. Classic album

There is some great stuff in here, but too much dead wood to earn five stars

id rather get fucked in the asssssssssss than listen to this album overall, their second best

There's nothing new I could really say. It's good stuff. Nothing groundbreaking for nowadays but we've just had it for a while. The Beatles are good. This isn't news to anyone but edgy kids lmao

Finally a recognizable band with solid music. Not my favourite Beatles album, but still the Beatles.

Obviously it's good, it's the beatles. +1 star for some all-time classics (I, for one, love And Your Bird Can Sing). But the between-filler songs are a little too out-there for me for this to be a top-tier Beatles album.

Better than I remember. For no one the best on the album. Also ringo must’ve been on more than acid wtf is yellow submarine

I appreciated the interwoven sitar features. It broke the album up a little and differentiated it from so many others. The breakup came with some disconnect and distraction--the flow was a little scattered at times--but overall a fun listen.

Taxman: iconic riff and one of my favorite guitar pieces by the Beatles or any band for that matter. Has a crazy good backstory and the wikipedia page for it is crazy long. I'm Only Sleeping is my favorite Lennon song by leaps and bounds. Too relatable. Here, there, and everywhere is probably my favorite McCartney song. George's guitar throughout the album is just so perfect and underrated. He clearly had taken a next step in his musicianship and it shines. i always thought mccartney wrote and your bird can sing. this is definitely the best beatles album it's crazy that the back quarter of this album feels less good but if it were a stand alone EP it'd be adored. i feel like george's influence on john is underrated because john had such an ego he could never admit it. but the end of the album feels like john really got into what george was laying down and then kind of ran with it (could be totally off base).

Tomorrow Never Knows is the best Beatles song by a huge amount. I don’t really love The Beatles though.

This album was a pleasant surprise. I was familiar with the songs everyone's heard, and could say that Eleanor Rigby was my favorite Beatles track, but had never given a full Beatles album a listen. This was a good album. Interesting.

Ah Beatles: the soap opera for men of music. Such interpersonal drama! Aren’t the characters growth astounding? from boy band to experimental hippies. John is kind of cute, but I, a contrarian, root for the more anonymous George Harrison. The others might be holding him back, let’s see how this drama plays out. I hope no one is killed off in the following season..

Finally, it's getting good. This sounds interesting, both lyrically and sound-aly, and breaks the monotony of a lot of the earlier albums.

Not my favourite Beatles album but seminal.

It's good, although not my favourite. Their lyrics are always a little too quirky for me. Musically it's very nice.

I'm sorry. Good album but not 5/5 for me. I have other beatles albums I prefer. Its the beatles. Of course they're good. Of course this is a good album. But I'm holding my 5 back for something I can play on a loop and sit and listen and be endlessly happy and have no "oh I wish this song was also on here" moments

Is this a safe space for confessions? I don’t think I’ve ever fully listened to yellow submarine. It comes on, I skip it. Forgive me for I have sinned. Otherwise great album.

Great album, except for yellow submarine... I despise that song...

My first time listening to a Beatles album that wasn't One or a greatest hits. A little all over the place stylistically. I appreciated the sixties sound of Taxman, but disliked the monotoned Love You To. The album definitely encompasses the sound of the sixties.

Guess this one was before my time but I did recognize a few songs and loved it all!

loved it

Overall very good and lots of iconic songs. A couple that I’m not too into tho.

Awesome

Tomorrow Never Knows and Love You To absolute fire. Like a Massive attack

Amazing, but it has Yellow Submarine, so it can't be 5 stars. Favorite song: Eleanor Rigby

с револьвера у меня исторически помечены айм онли слипин и последняя (которая Дону не понравилась). хороший альбом без хитяр (не считая инстант 100 для караоке в виде йелоу сабмарин)

Many groovy tunes on this album! Some of my faves. :-)

Super enjoyed this album. First listen through a Beatles album in its entirety.

Un album qui se présente presque comme un fourre-tout au fil des explorations, mais qui conserve son unité. J'y ressens beaucoup de candeur et de joie dans le jeu musical, même si certains thèmes sont plus sombres.

It is actually funny that I learned the song 'Yellow Submarine' in my English class back in 5th grade. We even sang it together as a class. Good times

You don't get Sgt Pepper, magical mystery, white album, etc without Revolver. Eleanor Rigby is one of my favorite songs. The themes of loneliness, the way they developed after rubber soul, and the impact this album had on rock in general cannot be understated. It's classic, timeless, and paved the way for some of the best rock music to come. I know the Beatles get their due, but how willing to be experimental during this era is just unbelievable.

Contains Tomorrow Never Knows which is good but it also has Yellow Submarine on it... Possibly the best Beatles album?

Det bästa av Beatles so far.

базированный альбом битлов, без экспериментов, классика

I mean if the Beatles made it, it's practically guaranteed to be good. And this is no exception, Revolver is what I consider to be there 2nd best album of course first is Abby road. Honestly the album could get 3 stars with just Eleanor Rigby alone, however there's plenty of other amazing songs on this album.
