It was solid. Didn’t like enough for a 3

Not for me. I think it’s Brit pop like super grass or blur or oasis but also with some Indian influence.
1-Star Albums (7)
All Ratings
I like it, I see why everyone likes ABBA.
2 stars will be my rating for neutral/meh
Ehh this is more of a 2.8 2
Two stars. One of the songs reminded me of a Dance Dance by Fall out boy
Reminded me of Beach House, Cigarettes After Sex. Maybe they were the original influence? I would say it’s a 2.5 stars, not quite 3. If it was in English and or had more vocals I’d be more into it. Solid.
2.5 I liked the first song Mr. Soul and the last song Broken Arrow. Broken Arrow had a lot of beat switches
Definitely not for me. Found the voice shrill. Some parts I could see myself listening to.
Started promising with the African influence, but not for me.
A 2.5, it is easy listening and reminded me of a Tony Hawk soundtrack.
Nothing notable that I could recall.
First song is great! Reminds me of Smooth Operator. Rest of the album reminded me of Tom Waits’ Way Down in the Hole.
Nothing to note.
I missed this album! Listened 10 days later. The actual first album I recognized. 4 stars. It's not as good as Meteora which would get a 5. But I saved 8 songs from this album so it's awesome.
Liked the first couple songs and the hit stoned soul picnic.
2 stars. I thought I'd like it more considering the guy is part of Steely Dan.
Nothing notable.
This is definitely not for me. First one star. It sounds like that whole “lyrical, miracle, spiritual” rap or a rock critic’s version of what good hip hop is.
First album I encountered that I already knew! I love this one. 4 stars.
Not for me. Idk.
All Nick Drake to revisit later 3
I think is good! First Lana Del Rey album for me. She reminds me of BANKS and I love BANKS.
It was an easy listen but as a full instrumental album it isn't for me. I had a DJ background which surprised me too but wasn't interested by it. It's more like 2.5 stars so I'll keep it at 2.
Not for me. I liked the song Heroin though.
Vibing to this. No standout tracks on first listen
Not for me. I think it’s Brit pop like super grass or blur or oasis but also with some Indian influence.
Feels like I should be in a pickup flying a flag.
I liked this! 3 stars.
It’s an Australian band. 2 stars not for me
The usual two star. First heard of Nico through Velvet Underground.
Some parts felt like very easy listening.
Need to listen to it more, but definite 4 stars for me.
Eh easy play through, not for me.
Not vibing with it, the usual 2 stars.
Easy listen, might need more to see if it is 3 stars.
Sounds like instrumental you'd hear in movies or shows.
I would say 1.5, it isn't for me. But 2 usually means it's an easy listen and isn't for me, but this was not an easy listen and I can't round up, so it'll just be a 1 star.
I didn't get to re-visit this but 3 stars the opening was just so good.
It's more like 3.5 stars for me rather than 4. Idk why. I like a number of songs off it too.
I love Janelle Monae so it's gonna be a 3.
I tried to see if I could get it to three and I like Steely Dan, but it's like a 2.75 so it'll be two stars.
2 not for me. Parts I was intrigued by though.
2 not for me.
It was cool, didn't catch me.
I'll give it another listen and might raise it to 4. But definitely a strong 3! I liked it a good amount on first listen. was raised to a 4
It was solid. Didn’t like enough for a 3
3 stars simply for tainted love
I thought I'd like this more but no, it's a 2 star. Surprised.
Nothing special.
I think it’s a 3 but not for me‽ like a 2.75 I might consider to play this again
It was ok but that first song reminded me of Good Charlotte?
Although I know we want the funk and I enjoy other Parliament songs, surprised this didn't get a 3. It's more like 2.5, so it'll be a 2.
The third song on this album reminded me of other songs (at least the cadence). But not for me.
The usual 2 stars. An Icelandic group, it's an easy listen but nothing memorable it's not for me.
Why is a David Bowie album from 2016 on the list? I couldn't get through it but will give 2 stars by default.
Easy listen but still a two. But more like a 2.5.
I'll give it a 2.75 (the first part had me at 3). But I'll be strict even if I'm in a good mood.
First song alright but not for me
2 is generous I don’t get them
I like some of the songs but wasn't vibing so keeping 2.
I liked this enough for a 3, in a good mood.
Not quite a 3 but a very easy listen more like a 2.8.
Nothing special but each song did start out differently. Wasn't the same sound throughout.
Easy listen but not for me. 2 stars
I like the songs but it wouldn't be something I go back to, although she is a legend. It's a 2.7.
Not for me but also not an easy listen once I locked in. Listening to it while at a drive thru. It's a 1.7 or 1.5 so giving it a 1.
I did kinda like this, but not saving anything from here, so 2. It's like a 2.4.
I saved a couple songs but I guess it makes it a 3? watched the movie so it's now a 4
I know the song "Where is my Mind" but unsure where I heard it from. Not for me overall but two stars.
It's easy listening but isn't grabbing my ear.
I really like the first few songs but just kinda died down on me. Heard this album years ago too. But it’s like a 2.8
3 stars! I definitely remembered how much I liked some of these songs. But I wouldn't revisit it because it definitely feels dated.
I actually liked a couple songs but wouldn't go back to it.
Nothing notable
I did recognize that first song which is real good. Easy listening.
Easy listening but not for me.
First song is the iconic bittersweet symphony and it was an easy listen throughout. 2
Probably a 2 don't remember this one.
The first song caught my ear. 2
Easy listen but nothing memorable played it 3x
Felt new wave vibes — but still 2
Sounded very 90s and easy electronic music listen but ehh.
I'd give it a 3 because of the impact at the time, even though I'm not revisiting. I do like it more than a 2.8.
I actually kinda liked this one. This is like a 2.7-2.8. Some of it reminds me of a Tony Hawk soundtrack. I can hear how this inspired other groups. Also, I could identify the diversity in these songs.
Easy listening, but didn't captivate me. Not quite a 3.
2 stars - easy listening. Sounds like a very old man singing.
I know I'm not the audience for this but this guy's voice is not fun or pleasant to listen to. Usually I give things 2 stars but this sounds like something a parody would do.
Ehh it isn't for me. It feels like a 2.5.
It was fine, more like a 2.8
The usual 2 stars not for me.
Easy listen but not for me.
I gave it a 3 because on the whole it's very good but I don't know if I'd be playing this back.
I'd give this a 2.8 - saved a song. I really do like her voice.
Still awesome 13 years later, amazing.
Not for me, but it's fine.
Made coffee while listening, it was easy listening but couldn't pick up anything. I'll give it a 2 but a very nice two.
a 4
Easy listening but not for me. Maybe I need to be in a ballroom
Eh two stars. Feels new wavey but although I like new wave not this album.
2 stars. I know this guy because of Hallelujah
Easy listening, one of the songs “Guest List” reminded me of an Owl City or some band of the 2000s. My guess is they inspired it.
Eh nothing memorable.
The usual 2
I liked it. I can see the inspiration it had for Alessia Cara and other groups. A 2.75
I'll give it a 1. Felt like the lyrical, miracle, spiritual kind of rap.
It’s easy listening for sure. I like it I made coffee while listening. A 2.75
3 stars. Everybody wants to rule the world is so good that it carries it to 3.
Not for me - 2
Feels like a two — easy listening but not for me
Placeholder #2 - gotta get to it but it's not available for streaming.
It was easy listening
It's easy listening but didn't catch my ear. Related groups are Jesus and Mary Chain
Was vibing with it, generous 3 instead of a 2.8
Two stars for legacy, but did not like
It was okay. Brit pop
Was fine.
I think this is a 2.9 - I saved two songs from it but not all the way there for a 3.
East coast rapper, collaborated with Gang Starr. Eh.
Very listenable, but isn't my type of music. Probably give it a 2.5 which is okay.
I'll get to it later but I have this at a 2.9 off a few listens. Don't wanna fall behind on the albums. My guess is people rated this at 3.5.
I like that first song, and the other song that sounds like the first song (Rudy). 2.4. My guess is this gets a 2.92
Was vibing to this, it is electronic music from 2005. A 2.7. Not sure when I would play this in my own life though.
I would say a 3. My guess is this got a 3.3
Someday caught my ear like it did everyone else's. Still not for me, so it's about a 2.7 for me. My guess is this gets a 3.08 for user rating.
9/24/25 - played this album a lot. It reminded me of another group but can't remember. But even having it on repeat by accident all day, it's just not for me. 2.5
A generous 2. Not for me. Generous because I don't want to be harsh.
I'm sure people really enjoy this one. It's a 2.3 for me. Idk.
It isn't bad. It isn't for me. My guess is the people rate this a 3.02.
2 stars. I saw they influenced groups like CHVRCHES which I can see. It's fine. Prediction rating: 2.4
I would give it a 3 because of my fondness for Depeche Mode. Prediction for global rating: 3.3 I do like the songs as a whole but wouldn't re-listen, probably just save the ones I like.
I think I liked this one more than the 80s album Maybe a 4?
Jazz album - this one wasn't for me.
Electronic - this album is not for me.
It was a 2.
Not sure how to rate this one. I'm not into Coldplay although obviously I know their songs. I'll just leave it as a 2 star. It's probably a 3 but I don't feel strongly about them at all. My guess is this got a 3.2 for the global rating.
I liked this one. Will explore Graceland from Paul Simon. 3/5
Ehh. Not for me.
I liked this, my guess it's because of Janis Joplin. It gets a 3. If I rated it a 3, this mean this probably a 3.5
Sounds like it could be in a movie. And Joanna Newsom's music has been in a PTA movie. Some parts of the album I really enjoyed. Feels like multiple songs per song. 5:57 for Only Skin 0:46, 4:25 for Cosmia
The girl from Ipanema is a classic.
The usual 2, not for me. My guess is this got a 3.1
Easy listening but not for me. 2
Two but it was actually okay. A 2.7 Guessing this got a 3.4
Not for me. 2
Favorite of Jimi Hendrix so far.
Not quite as good as electric ladyland.
Learned this was an old band that Eric Clapton was part of. The Layla song sounded cool. 2.7
Live album from 1999 in collaboration with classical music. Usual 2 - not for me
ehh.
?? really gotta wonder who came up with this list. 2
Feeling generous - 3. I thought it would be a 2 initially but with enough plays this album broke through to me and it sounds very diverse, it's not just one sound throughout (e.g. Starlight to Supermassive Black Hole to Map of the Problematique in that three track sequence, then later on it's Assassin and Exo-Politics). I like that it just seemed like they wanted to do whatever they wanted, however grand or big or crazy it seems. It isn't "coherent" in that sense in terms of the sound being similar but that is not a knock on this album.
I already know this album but because I don't love all the tracks it's not a 5. I've re-visited the album over the years and it still holds up but I find myself liking it a little bit less over the years. 4.2/5
Very soft 3. I like RHCP but wouldn't say I am a big fan.
Vibing enough for 3 stars, I like several songs outside of Karma Chameleon.
Wasn’t that interested in this. 2
Not very interested 2
2 but only because i don’t feel like listening. Will revisit later
Easy listening like Stan Gaetz 3
Also liked this one, another 3. I liked their final album more though
Almost forgot to rate. I do enjoy that first song but that was it, thought I'd like this more but it's more like a 2.8, almost a 3.
I'm guessing this was important but not for me in 2025 2
No standouts, the usual 2 2
It sounded a little more intriguing than the 2002 album that came after that had Scientist and Clocks, but likely not revisiting 2
No notes 2
A punk album from 2003 2
maybe revisit later but probably not 2
Sounded cool 2
it was decent Maybe revisit since nothing felt like filler
Meh
I think track 3 heart shaped box was the one I liked, overall not feeling the album. 2
It was okay, familiar with the first song of course
the usual 2
Sounded like good jazz to me. It's a 2 because it's the default ranking.
2
I forgot Can I Kick It was on here, I thought it was a later album. 4
It was ok. I liked Suedehead 2
Wasn't feeling it 2
Sounded good but ultimately not for me 2
It was okay but interesting Remained me of Joanna Newsom
Didn’t catch my ear
This is more of a 2.7-2.8 — caught my ear and didn’t realize I knew some songs and they were on The Weeknd’s latest album
This was some nice to listen jazz. 2
I think this one I couldn't find on streaming + didn't want to look for it on YT (so this is for me to go back & listen later, but more likely never)
It’s pretty good! 3
It's growing on me. I like Rubber Soul and Revolver more on those first listens though
Ehh 2
One of the songs on this album caught my ear because it sounded like something I'd heard before (i.e. someone sampled this group) 2
Left this playing on repeat, didn't catch my ear 2
I guess because of my upbringing, I can't really rate this any lower than a 3. I did like some of it.
It isn't a 3, it's more like a 2.65.
I might need to give this a deeper listen but it sounded kinda good. 3
Need more of a listen Listen for later, rating to keep up with daily list
Ehh not for me. 2
Off one listen this sounds amazing. Minimum 4 stars already. edit: it's a 5. of course 1001 didn't like this album
First song I recognized! Shoutout to Anderson Paak (NxWorries) for Suede The Bottle, Back Home.
I recognize some of these songs or at least snippets. But it isn’t something I’d revisit Peace Frog sounds like Smells Like Teen Spirit 2.75
A masterpiece.
It was okay, recognized some of the songs 2.70
I liked it so far. Guessing the 1001 community will love it 3/5 but probably will land at a 3.5
I'm wondering if I should give this an 8/10 since the tracks I like are so strong, meaning 4 stars? Or keep it at 3. I'll go 4. Prediction rating: 3.08
RHCP is like goodish/okayish to me. Maybe because they're so popular I'm like ehh on them as a whole. 2.8 This probably got a 3.4
a 2.9 I liked Do You Realize?? and All We Have is Now I feel like I've heard "All We Have is Now" from somewhere
3 so far -- good first listen The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down Whispering Pines
it's fine, like RHCP. just don't see myself listening to oasis on any occasion. favorites: Hello, Wonderwall, It's Better People 2.8 community rating prediction: 3.4
I liked it but unsure if I will re-visit it.
I like it so far 3

All Nick Drake to revisit later 3
So far it’s a 2
This is on the 1001 list and not Voodoo from D'Angelo. 1

It's okay ish 2
This feels like a 3 and I guess because of historical importance they will get a 3. I don't know when I would re-visit this though. Nah it'll be a 2. But it's a 2.7
Re-visit later 2
I liked it, had some songs I was familiar with. 3
A 2.8 All the hit songs were the ones I’m familiar with. It’s probably a 3 but when would I go “it’s time to listen to Licensed to Ill”

I'm liking this one - it's getting a 3
I'll put it as a 3 to go back to it. It might get marked down to a 2
I know it's at least a 4 but will re-listen again
I'll give it a 4.5/5 -- idk if to round up or not.
I liked Boyz, Paper Planes, Come Around. But on the whole didn't like it as much as I thought. A 2.7
This was on replay the whole day but still a 2
I'll listen closely more but it's a 3 at minimum
Morrissey 2004? yeah ok 2
It was okay
I love only BP part 2 I guess that one song is good enough for a 3?
This got a 5 for me
It’s a 2.9 — but I recognize songs like voodoo magic but unsure where from 2
Hopefully I can remember this to revisit if I want to recapture the vibe. I like this one a lot 3

It sounds good but isn't something I would listen to
I also liked it, but unsure when I would listen to Saved the song: Respect Learned that "You Don't Miss Your Water" is a popular song title.
2
Sounded okay, I'm sure 1001 will love it. I have heard some of these tracks before. 2
Sounded oddly familiar, unsure where.
Definitely did not like this, but not bad enough for a 1. It's a 2
Probably my favorite The Smiths album I've heard on this list so far. 2

2
Did not know Gram Parsons was part of this one, but didn't really like this
eh
Revisit later 2
eh
Seems decent 3. Sounds like the foundation of modern music to follow for some of these songs
Industrial? Idk
I liked it, it'll get a 3
Nope
Thought I’d like it more
Dan was correct, this was good - 3 I could kind of see how others may not like this one as much as other records from Miles Davis
best I’ve heard from Elvis Costello — other ones were bad & probably more recent 2.5
sounds in the realm of something Jessica would like
Like Blood and Chocolate from Costello, like it more than the usual Morrissey 2.4
ehh 2.4

legendary jazz musician of his time as well
First song was great. It's around a 2.9
