Not for me. I think it’s Brit pop like super grass or blur or oasis but also with some Indian influence.

ABBA
4/5
I like it, I see why everyone likes ABBA.
Pink Floyd
2/5
2 stars will be my rating for neutral/meh
Alice In Chains
3/5
I liked it, 3 stars.
The Smiths
2/5
Two stars. One of the songs reminded me of a Dance Dance by Fall out boy
Sigur Rós
2/5
Reminded me of Beach House, Cigarettes After Sex. Maybe they were the original influence?
I would say it’s a 2.5 stars, not quite 3. If it was in English and or had more vocals I’d be more into it. Solid.
Buffalo Springfield
2/5
2.5
I liked the first song Mr. Soul and the last song Broken Arrow. Broken Arrow had a lot of beat switches
Sleater-Kinney
2/5
Definitely not for me. Found the voice shrill. Some parts I could see myself listening to.
Talking Heads
2/5
Started promising with the African influence, but not for me.
R.E.M.
2/5
A 2.5, it is easy listening and reminded me of a Tony Hawk soundtrack.
Ananda Shankar
2/5
Nothing notable that I could recall.
John Lee Hooker
3/5
First song is great! Reminds me of Smooth Operator. Rest of the album reminded me of Tom Waits’ Way Down in the Hole.
Haircut 100
2/5
Nothing to note.
Linkin Park
4/5
I missed this album! Listened 10 days later. The actual first album I recognized. 4 stars. It's not as good as Meteora which would get a 5. But I saved 8 songs from this album so it's awesome.
Laura Nyro
2/5
Liked the first couple songs and the hit stoned soul picnic.
Donald Fagen
2/5
2 stars. I thought I'd like it more considering the guy is part of Steely Dan.
R.E.M.
2/5
Nothing notable.
The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy
1/5
This is definitely not for me. First one star. It sounds like that whole “lyrical, miracle, spiritual” rap or a rock critic’s version of what good hip hop is.
Common
4/5
First album I encountered that I already knew! I love this one. 4 stars.
Supergrass
2/5
Not for me. Idk.
Lana Del Rey
3/5
I think is good! First Lana Del Rey album for me. She reminds me of BANKS and I love BANKS.
DJ Shadow
2/5
It was an easy listen but as a full instrumental album it isn't for me. I had a DJ background which surprised me too but wasn't interested by it. It's more like 2.5 stars so I'll keep it at 2.
The Velvet Underground
2/5
Not for me. I liked the song Heroin though.
Marvin Gaye
3/5
Vibing to this. No standout tracks on first listen

Buena Vista Social Club
2/5
Sounds like instrumental you'd hear in movies or shows.
The Residents
1/5
I would say 1.5, it isn't for me. But 2 usually means it's an easy listen and isn't for me, but this was not an easy listen and I can't round up, so it'll just be a 1 star.
Hugh Masekela
3/5
I didn't get to re-visit this but 3 stars the opening was just so good.
Destiny's Child
3/5

Although I know we want the funk and I enjoy other Parliament songs, surprised this didn't get a 3. It's more like 2.5, so it'll be a 2.
Fairport Convention
2/5
The third song on this album reminded me of other songs (at least the cadence). But not for me.
The Sugarcubes
2/5
The usual 2 stars. An Icelandic group, it's an easy listen but nothing memorable it's not for me.
David Bowie
2/5

Easy listen but not for me. 2 stars
Aretha Franklin
2/5
I like the songs but it wouldn't be something I go back to, although she is a legend. It's a 2.7.
Billy Bragg
1/5
Not for me but also not an easy listen once I locked in. Listening to it while at a drive thru. It's a 1.7 or 1.5 so giving it a 1.

Easy listening, but didn't captivate me. Not quite a 3.
Leonard Cohen
2/5
2 stars - easy listening. Sounds like a very old man singing.

I know I'm not the audience for this but this guy's voice is not fun or pleasant to listen to. Usually I give things 2 stars but this sounds like something a parody would do.

2/5
ehh.
Elvis Costello
2/5
??
really gotta wonder who came up with this list.
2
3/5
Feeling generous - 3.
I thought it would be a 2 initially but with enough plays this album broke through to me and it sounds very diverse, it's not just one sound throughout (e.g. Starlight to Supermassive Black Hole to Map of the Problematique in that three track sequence, then later on it's Assassin and Exo-Politics).
I like that it just seemed like they wanted to do whatever they wanted, however grand or big or crazy it seems. It isn't "coherent" in that sense in terms of the sound being similar but that is not a knock on this album.
Kanye West
4/5
I would give this a 4.5/5.
I already know this album but because I don't love all the tracks it's not a 5. I've re-visited the album over the years and it's always held up well. It still does.
