Enjoyed this a lot. I knew a few of the tracks already, but the lesser-known ones are every bit as good. Particularly strong finish - final three songs are bangers

Another one I knew some of already. Very "cool" New York sound throughout. Nothing beats Last Nite though
Better than I was expecting, but a very long album. I enjoyed it but some began to feel samey after a while. All the Girls Love Alice was a pleasant surprise. I can see myself coming back to this with my good headphones, when I have time to properly appreciate it
I only knew Spellbound before listening to this album, and the rest is pretty much what I expected. Some strong tracks but nothing hits the heady heights of the first track, unfortunately
Again knew just the one track. Enjoyable and would happily listen to again, but more of a background album for me. Maybe if I had a leather seat, a record player and a tumbler of whiskey I could give it the attention it deserves...
Not really my taste but very good classic pop. Dusty has a fantastic voice and the best tracks are the ones in which she gets to really showcase it. Production is excellent with great instrumentation. If you're in the mood for dancing round the kitchen, this one is perfect.
Starts off strong but peters out a bit, which isn't ideal for a sub-40min album. Take on Me is still a stone cold classic, and the next three aren't far off, but I wasn't blown away
I know more about the band than I do the music, and have only heard the title track before, on a Q compilation album that I played almost incessantly as a teenager. Album is very good - I'm not blown away by it but I'll definitely listen to it some more. Tracks meld into each other but not in a bad way - there's a good ebb and flow.
Got a lot more from this than I thought I would. I could listen to Joni's voice all day.
I knew less of this than I thought. Three tracks in the middle are brilliant but the rest didn't catch me as much. Very possible that my ranking will go up a star with additional listens.
Difficult to rate this as I can't pretend it's my first listen - I've known and loved this for at least 15 years. Great album, beautiful from start to finish.
One of the most '80s things I've ever heard. Good job I'm a sucker for a synth!
Honestly, this is a pretty good pop-punk album, but Green Day just don't do it for me. I don't know if it's Billie Joe's voice, or their tryhard subversiveness, or what, but I've never really liked them. That said, this album is perfectly decent, with the tracks being short and sweet, as pop-punk should be.
What? Not only an album I've never heard of, but an entire band I've never heard of? This is pure grunge. 1991 so very early, yet you can hear Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, even Brand New in here. I'll listen to this again at some point.
Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought! My knowledge of '90s rap like Wu Tang is sorely lacking, so this was a fun surprise. Full of colourful lines like I BUST RHYMES LIKE JISM
What on earth? This wasn't supposed to be good! I'm not sure many of the later tracks live up to Big Iron's thundering opener, but this album is surprisingly enjoyable! The lyrics are great, each song having a proper narrative to it.
I thought I'd love this, but I wasn't massively impressed. It's undeniably well done, but it just didn't do it for me. There's a couple stand-out tracks and I'd probably really enjoy it with some more listens, but there's still so much more music to listen to.
Nah. I just didn't find anything in this at all. Who wants pre-disco Bee Gees? Fairly dull ballads the whole way through, little of distinction apart from their voices. The first song is okay but it quickly stagnates.
I know nothing about jazz so I don't really know what I'm talking about, but this was an enjoyable listen and I'll happily put it on again in the future.
Way better than Fear of Music! Funky, catchy, weird: great!
Rock operas aren't really my jam.
If you bought this album purely for Dreaming of You - as teenage me did - you might be disappointed, but that's not a bad thing: this is more inventive and more experimental than you might expect from the lead single. Said song is great, but relatively safe. The album is closer to ska and to the Libertines than you'd expect. 3.5
A pleasant surprise! I really don't like McCartney but this album was decent from start to finish. 3.5
Very odd. Hated it at first, in particular the second song, but the album improves. 2.5
Really not my sort of thing at all, but it's very well done. Great singing voice, enjoyable songs, a very lively crowd.
