This is a fantastic album. I've never listened to much Prince before.
I've not "listened" to ZZ Top before. But I've heard them. A bunch of familiar tracks. Really enjoyed it.
I love this album. Fun and familiar.
Absolutely what I needed this morning. Brings some sunshine to a grey day!
I have no idea what to rate this. It's quite something - beyond the bounds an adequate frame of reference.
Some absolute classics on this album. Dynamically fairly one dimensional and repetitive.
I really liked this - good melodies, interesting chord progressions, and some fun noises
The tracks that aren't hits are middle of the road filler and highly forgettable.
Not really sure what to say other than I enjoyed it. Reminded me of Johnny Cash
Really interesting writing. Verging on self-indulgent at times but didn't tip fully into it.
This was a nice surprise. I enjoyed it a lot!
This massively exceeded my expectations. Some fantastic songwriting and performance - Skin's voice is out of this world at times.
I don't have particularly strong feelings about this. It's fine. Didn't feel dangerous, but maybe you had to be there.
Really interesting album. Deserves a bunch of listens to get what's going on
Some classics on this album. It's long though. Dare I say, too long?
Not really sure what to make of it - contextually it is seen as a culturally groundbreaking album. For me personally, I found it a bit disjointed and difficult to listen to. Maybe that's the point.
Really good album. Feel good stuff, with some bizarre guitar and drum solo breaks.
Made it through. That was long. Not really my thing. A little too songbooky. A mammoth effort though!
Really enjoyed this album
I think you had to be there
I think I liked it. I love Neil Young. This was quite an eclectic mix of songs. Some of them sound like show tunes. A bit to many frills for me. But I admire the bravery to try some different stuff out.
Not one to be pigeon-holed. Really varied and creative ideas
Whoa this takes me back to university days. Strong nostalgia trip. Love this album
Wow, this is a stunning album. First time listening and it really got me.
Unmistakably Beastie Boys
Unbelievably good piano by Mike Garson on a great great album.
Took me a while to feel it but was loving it by the end.
Three stars for the album, one extra star for the personal nostalgia trip,
A cocktail of some great influences that meet in the middle of the road - hits of some interesting edginess but it's been somewhat sandpapered down.
Middle of the road - life has been produced out of it. A few nice lyrics and ideas beneath the polish.
Feeling great after this!
Strong album. Will get better with multiple listens, I imagine.
Not much to say about this. It sounds distinctly like The Rolling Stones playing songs in the style of The Rolling Stones and I don't have particularly strong feelings about The Rolling Stones.
It doesn't feel like a coherent album. Nor does it feel like a greatest hits. But it's full of great things.
Some absolutely iconic songs/riffs on this album. The sound aesthetic is definitely of its time and largely not to my taste. But there's no arguing with the quality of writing and playing on this record!
Some impressive musicianship but not really my thing.
It found a lane after a few tracks...into something akin to Peter Gabriel but lacking the raw magic.
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this. Felt similarities with The Doors
If this is your bag, I can imagine this is your bag. It is not really my bag. Interesting time signatures though.
Whoa, I don't even know where to begin. Not necessarily one for your lazy Sunday mornings.
A slightly meandering album with some great songs.
Some great tunes. Quite samey through the album though. I was convinced I'd already heard songs. Pleasantly reminiscent of Beck.
I had forgotten how well I knew this album. I must have listened to it a lot when it came out. Some good tunes.
Hard pan stereo - slightly disorienting. Fantastic songs.
Was this the album that influenced Meat Loaf?
