I had high hopes for this record having heard some Fleet Foxes. This record was a lot more downbeat than I expected and I can respect not relying on hooks, but it is hard to distinguish the songs. I like the instrumentation and they certainly achieved the unique sound they were going for.
There are two really bloated reissues available. They can be skipped. The original version is incredibly pleasing. Worth it for the version of Magic Bus alone.
I absolutely enjoyed listening to this record. It had a great progression and made sense as an album. There is this nice subversion and plenty of musical and lyrical surprises
I was surprised how secondary the lead vocals were in favor of the guitar work. The guitar riffs are amazing. There is some variety to the record which makes it a satisfying listen
This is a really satisfying rock record that stays within the genre while being progressive and experimental.
While this album certainly is well executed in terms of music and production,it never seemed to get past sounding like a guy who made a Beatles record.
This is magical.
I cannot deal with the misogyny.
