Also nicht so meins. Kann sein, dass es ein Meilenstein der Musikgeschichte ist, aber musikalisch geht es mir nicht so rein und inhaltlich habe ich mich mit den Texten nicht auseinandergesetzt. In "Last Call" scheint der gute ja ne ziemlich lange Story zu erzählen (12:40 min). Das könnte man sich nochmal in Ruhe anhören, aber in diesem Leben wohl nicht mehr.

Seperating artist from the art on this one. Because people has told me that his music was revolutionary. For me it was not that special, mostly forgetable. Beats were okey but there are better beatmakers who use similar teckniques. As for him, he need to be hospitalized. Immediatelly. I don't know why people around him don't ask for his hospitalisation because he's clearly not functioning and he has had serious mental related breakdowns from what i read. Line him up with the orange spray on tan guy, the family of hoes and any self-titled influencer and go to town. One can dream..... A couple good grooves in there, otherwise a pretty tough listen. Listen, it's a fine album and if I were rating this 10 or so years ago, I would've given it three, maybe four stars. But hindsight's a bitch and his recent antics and rhetoric and faux-gospel antics make listening to his weak linguistics (but jammi' beats) akin to someone directly vomiting in my ear. He's a dick (and a tiny one at that).

Stronger was probably the best track on this album which worked well around the Draft Punk (?) sample. I'm uncomfortable with a lot of the lyrics on the album, I appreciate it's nearly 20 years ago, but they still don't sit well with me . The beats were okay.... probably would have enjoyed the album better without the lyrics. This is not a genre of music I'm a stranger too. I've struggled to identify what about the album gets it on this list. I was glad when it finished.

This will be the second Kanye album I've ever listened to, the first one being given to me by the generator some time ago. Unfortunately his stock has plunged since then, and he was already at what I had assumed was rock bottom. Making it hard to be objective but I'll give it a go. It isn't starting out strong. Yeah I'm not giving this another hour. I've made it nearly halfway through this project without bailing on an album but today is the day. It might be great but it is also really irritating and I can't.

I enjoy some hip hop every now and again but how on earth is this album on the 1001 list? Almost every song on this album sounds like it was written produced and performed by and for children. Extremely basic, repetitive rhythms and a whiny voice don't make for very good music. I was halfway through my second listen before I realized that I'd heard the songs once before.

What kind of trash is this? So long and so bad. Can I get my time back?

The fake 'rebellion' while rapping about expensive watches, 'Benjamins' and b*tches. I don't find the vocals / flow that interesting. This was disappointing. And, again, too long. Ye-awn.

Clean, crisp and well engineered. Lots of collaborators and nice tunes. The rapping's clear but I just can't buy it fromthis guy. He's too squeaky to be down in the gutter shooting from the hip. Like the Wiki says: "West was raised in a middle-class environment". It's like some guy in Beverley Hills rapping about life in the gutter. He's far too intelligent and it shows. He should have been a reality star not a rapper.
