I hadn't listened to this before, but I see the appeal. That said, Kanye is a bigot. Kanye's use of some outdated terms that are pretty offensive these days. We don't listen to Kanye in this household.

This will be the second Kanye album I've ever listened to, the first one being given to me by the generator some time ago. Unfortunately his stock has plunged since then, and he was already at what I had assumed was rock bottom. Making it hard to be objective but I'll give it a go. It isn't starting out strong. Yeah I'm not giving this another hour. I've made it nearly halfway through this project without bailing on an album but today is the day. It might be great but it is also really irritating and I can't.

Gave up halfway through. The only decent stuff is where a sample of another song was used. Naff.

Kanye's music might be good, but he's a bad role model and worse person. He's lost touch with the time and effort and message delivered in this album. I cannot support his over inflated ego through streaming revenue.

I enjoy some hip hop every now and again but how on earth is this album on the 1001 list? Almost every song on this album sounds like it was written produced and performed by and for children. Extremely basic, repetitive rhythms and a whiny voice don't make for very good music. I was halfway through my second listen before I realized that I'd heard the songs once before.

What kind of trash is this? So long and so bad. Can I get my time back?

Habe ehrlich gesagt noch weniger erwartet. Gab sogar ein zwei Lieder die ich ein bisschen gefühlt habe. Aber will diesen Menschen eigentlich echt nicht unterstützen. Das fällt mir auch nicht besonders schwer, das Album hatte genug schlechte Songs auch.

What can I say about an album clearly not meant for me? I just can't get past the content, and knowing more about Kanye lately leaves even less room to attempt to enjoy what he's offering. Can I even compliment his creative use of the Hampster Dance Choir on several tracks? Nope.

I was hoping to like this as I quite liked Late Registration, and assumed his reputation came from these early albums. But then the good stuff on LR was by Stevie and Curtis. The fake 'rebellion' while rapping about expensive watches, 'Benjamins' and b*tches. I don't find the vocals / flow that interesting. This was disappointing. And, again, too long. Ye-awn.

I just don't get Kanye

Clean, crisp and well engineered. Lots of collaborators and nice tunes. The rapping's clear but I just can't buy it fromthis guy. He's too squeaky to be down in the gutter shooting from the hip. Like the Wiki says: "West was raised in a middle-class environment". It's like some guy in Beverley Hills rapping about life in the gutter. He's far too intelligent and it shows. He should have been a reality star not a rapper.

To my shame I don't think I've heard this all the way through since it was released. Great storytelling throughout - Kanye takes us on a journey through his world dropping club-ready bangers along the way. Looking forward to another listen before long.
