I really don't understand all the fuzz in here but its a matter of personal opinion and taste. For me It's a mediocre album with mediocre lyrics and kind of ok music. Save time and go to the next album.
Not a jazz fan myself but this a very smooth record. Relaxing & easy one to follow. Beautiful blend of guitar rhythm , bass and saxophone. Recommended!
There was nothing like this album at that time. Maybe even now. All special, very melodic and interesting structured songs. A unique voice.
All tracks weren't available in spotify, at least in my country but for what i heard (8 tracks) there is nothing really special here.
Currently the complete album is not available to stream on spotify but youtube did the job. Quite enjoyable live album.
Just before 1970 this album when it came out probably wasn't any other at that time. This is must the definition of an outsider rock band. To do what they like. Explorative melodic music with jazz elements . Very cool album
I enjoyed this relaxing soul electronic trip hop album. Love the hypnotic drumming beat with calm balanced voices that makes today autotuned albums seem pointless. Easy to listen and keeps you hooked during the whole album session. Definitely will give this another go. Probably more.Tip. The deluxe album more tracks (clubbing sounding remixes) . There are avoidable if you need the time.
I didn't know such powerful albums existed in the decade. Simple album with great lyricism Never heard of Solange before but now i do and will start following her work.
A prefect album from start to finish.
No words to describe this voice
One of those albums that manage to grab listeners attention from start to finish. It's like one song with different type of levels flowing to one another flawlessly.
This album is not available by streaming as we speak in my country so i had to find it elsewhere online, and now that found it at last i have to say, it gave me a headache. This album is mostly a bunch of noise with stoner elements and dark lyrics. Probably the singers were on drugs. Although there are some good moments on some songs like "Spike Island" 'Getting bright at night", and maybe "Seasick" nothing else got me more interested so, If you are looking for something new maybe you wont find it here but, definitely it sounds genuine and some will like it better than me
Good album but not particularly interesting enough to listen to it twice
Not into country music myself but i find this a very enjoyable album I hope i find more like this one.
Couldn't finish the album, Nick was just getting on my nerves. I apologize.Tried to like Nick Cave before but i just couldn't and i think i have to deal with it , i never will.
Didnt enjoy anything in the album.A very repetitive and lazy record. The Contents were almost the same though out the end. Also too much reverb. without reading the lyrics I wouldn't understand a word. Two stars just for the voice.
A simple production but lyrically very fun and honest record. That's what songs should be all about. 4 stars.
I have been avoiding this band for a lot of years now cause i'm not into this growling rock kind of style . Still isn't but, i have to confess this is not all growling all the time. There are a lot of interesting stuff in this album to explore. The very good lyrics and the mix metal genres in it got my attention until the end. Definitely is a must for the one time listen. Hell, even the second one
Not a generally hip hop fan here by I like to give myself every opportunity to quality hip hop if available.. Glad I did. I like this album Mostly speaks to his race but I respect that cause it takes it self very seriously artistically. Good production.Nice lyrism melodies and rhythm.
This is like buying a package of promised tasty cookies but when you bite you get a taste of glum. I don't know what this record might meant at that time but his time it seems to me some dudes decided to make a band and dress like clowns so they could start making fast easy money. It was so uninterested . With poor production, full of lazy riffs and under mediocre lyrics this record i believe belongs nowhere. One star for the outfit though.
Albums recommended here are supposed to have an artistic value or the origin for something new that other artists can based on. This have neither. All I heard it was some out of dated pop songs that have low value. The first song must be the one that gave this some kind of temporarily value at the time of release
I almost made the mistake to rate this album a 1 by just listening the screaming of the first song but, i always like to give another chance before the rating and was not disappointed. This is surely not a gold record in the sense of lyricism by any means but, it's still a fun experimental rocking live sounded type of record. Never heard of this band before in my life but i'll definitely give this more listens in the near future.
From 1001 recommended albums this is the one that started the next thousands to come also not recommended in this list. The weird thing is that you need to listen to many of these recommended albums to realise it and appreciate this one
There are a lot of 60s albums that hold up very well even today. Unfortunately this is not one of them.
if this came in 1960 it will be a very good album but for a 2004 release this a very lazy and monotonous record which bases it self only in the lyrics. Definitely not a 1001
My greatest respects to Adele. She's a wonderful singer songwriter but, some songs haven't grow very well with me in this album . If you heard them too many times you don't want to hear them again for a long long time while some others are just mediocre to typically good . At least she doesn't cheat by using autotune like many others of her age and that is plus. Overall a good album 3.5
Interested music and production but very very stupid lyrics. 1 for the production. Never gonna listen to Kanye West again when if another one in this list
Now that's a hip hop album I could listen to all day. Political sophisticated lyrics, that couldn't be more relevant with beautiful low beats that's suits today's music Definitely not 90s recognizable . Nothing more to say. Just perfect!
Imagine the music would have if John was still alive. Lennon would have no musical boundaries.
Folk music for teenagers. It gives the sense that it's a kind of masterpiece but it's a very lame masterpiece. Almost all songs are similar and with her expressive popish voice I myself, cannot connect with the words she singing. Good but not good enough to be included here. There are much better others artists albums of her kind ,maybe not so known that offer more interesting results
The debut album of a egocentric man trying to be intellectual. Helps that this album is less written by Kanye himself and they are plenty of guests. I like also like the background voices. Extra point for the production
At least true to its title. Completely junk
The more I listen to modern unplugged music the more I Ievel up and appreciate this genuine of pure live masterpiece of an album.
Now this is what i call a really stylish funk acid jazz album. Dance to it music with a point. Excellent!!!
Why he thought screaming in every song is a good idea? 2
This album its been saved by the last song.
Mediocre at his best.i just can't feel it, but I guess this is what kids like these days so I respect it 2.5
Donovan is a great storyteller and calms me with his voice. True, original and genuine musician. 5 stars
Enjoyed this double album twice. Great work 👏 5
I liked this and i,m not even a jazz fun. That's the point of discovery new music Sit and listen complain later. 4
I see Kanye West i skip and then straight to 1 , because there is no 0.
This is the reason why i joined this challenge, to discover this weird and different album. Love it .5
if this wasn't a double album if will would be excellent 5 3.5
If you are into gen Z dull productions, one note auto tune music about dicks, pussy and lost panties well this is definitely for you. What is the matter with you?.😀 Go and find some real music to listen to. 0
If it wasn't for the voice this could go way higher 2
Musically this is very interesting especially the instrumental ones, but in my opinion, this album suffers by the type of the voice the singer uses (not my kind of type) and a little bit from the weakness of the lyrics . 3 only for the music and production.
Just shit but someone might like it
no idea how this record its influential and how this man is still making so many records. One of lifes greatest mysteries 1
One of the greatest mysteries. Besides if there is life on other planets is why this woman so successful. It must be a scientific explanation for this, i mean, other artists of the same caliber, offer much more. Her music is just a series of hilarious, boring and monotonous songwriting with mediocre production. I think my newborn baby boy likes it though, until he grows up. 2
Unfortunately the one on streaming services sounds like is heavy with autotune, so this ruined the live experience. "I'll search for the original1999 cd or vinyl if available for the real experience 3.5
The whole thing i think is sick 1
One of those cases when an album of utterly 54 minute nonsense becomes a must listen. 2
Nothing to see here or rather nothing to hear here.
A lame pretentious work of art that gave me zero feelings. But i'm sure someone might appreciate it more 2
This album must belong to the author of the book 1001 albums to listen before you die, cause, this has no reason to exist. But unfortunately, it exists in this universe. 1 for the cover
Very powerful voice and hypnotic music i like it! caution, streaming services they had it as a double album called Love and Devotion Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Party. 5
3 Don't care about the lyrics but the music and the production is interesting!
" I can't wait till i get home so you can turn that cherry out".."He Monica Lewinsky-ed all on my gown" and "I cooked this meal for you naked"is one of the plenty alike wonderful lyrics you will listen in this Platinum edition album and 1001 albums is recommending you to listen before you die of.... hard on boredom i suppose. 2
Wow what an album!. Had me nodding constantly with their beat and lyrics although not a serious hip hop fan myself. Almost a perfect 5 if it wasn't for some religion theme.
is not on any streaming services but now i know why. 2
Simplistic and lame country music. Must have had some worth at the time i suppose, but not now. Great voice though! 2.5/5
This could be a 2024 album. Great production magnetic and enjoyable! 5
At first, it feels like a genuine serious album but fails to delivery me the emotions that this album seems to promise at the beginning. With its lame neutral production, unoriginal melodies and uninteresting lyrics it felt like falling asleep. and i'm supposed to go to work. Good enough for background though. Recommendation is on the cover 2
What can i say Its jack black..baby one nore time 3
the king is dead and will be forgotten. 2
An r n b album in an era when songs were meant something. Great album.
Slightly overrated. One time listening its enough 3
3 One of those albums you appreciate once but once is enough
i love the voice , music and production music. I don't love the lyrics though 3
Im almost over with the list and i can say the list should be 101 albums. This isnt one of them 1
Long, Lame and uninteresting melodies 2
And you left out this brilliant album from the new version of 1001 for the sake of f. Kanye West. and SZA's panties. Jesus Christ! What a world!
People beware! The real good albums are after 1001 is finished. The cuts out are the best. 4
aou aou aou what a terrible performance! I wanted to live the show early! 2
Every song is a selected gem and a piece of art. Perfect!
