Reviews (page 11 of 16)

Very good music. perfect for chill times

Dreams, Don't stop, Go your own way, the chain, nothing but bangers. Sound city magic.

Stevie Nicks was on some shit, just banger after banger. Recorded in Sausalito, CA!!

Love it 😍

The absolute best album from start to finish

This is great

Every song is worthy. A classic, a masterpiece.

Great album. Best from them for sure

Very good album with a lot of hits. I liked the differing lead vocals vs. just one person.

This is an easy one. What's not to love? There's not a single song that couldn't have been a radio hit, not one. All the bonus tracks are a little useless, but that's not saying much. There's enough for 4 hit albums in the main tracks.

good. all songs are bops. thats it.

Ah yes, a timeless classic

Possibly my favourite album

I loved this. I knew the popular songs, but discovered a few gems that were a must have for my playlists.

A lot of "Popular" sounding softish rock tracks that you might wonder about. Definitely a good album when with people also.

This is simply amazing!!!

An easy 5, one of my favorite albums of all time.

Easy 5 stars. One of the greatest albums of all time. Secondhand News is incredibly underrated. The Chain has one of the best breakdowns in music history.

Best album ever

Best album ever

Pretty close to perfect

Other than Second Hand News, which gets on my tits, every song is brilliant.

Pretty much close to perfect as albums go

Mac-nificent

An absolute classic.

Classic alert

Not my kind of music in general, but so many songs here have transcended time

5/5 One of the best albums ever!

Rumours. No, all true. Easy 5

The best

Obviously a classic

Classic. Some great songs and the sound is superb-so distinctive and still feels fresh. Favourite song-Dreams

Love this. Wonderful album.

Uiteraard ronduit goed

The 🐐

Iconic

Everyone loves Rumours, don't they?

Maybe the best album of all time.

Obvious classic

One of best pop rock albums of all time. Beyond the hit singles, every now and then you can rediscover classics such as The Chain, Gold Dust Woman, Oh Daddy...

Okay, WOW. I knew almost every one of these songs, but I had no clue that they were all from the same album. Very influential, and there are so many of these songs that are still in movies, shows, etc in daily life. I liked a lot of these songs and this will be a new favorite.

Brings back tons of memories; being a kid and singing along; my mom hated Steve Nicks' vibrato voice but the songs were so good and still are :)

I've heard this record many times. Dreams, The Chain, Oh Daddy, Gold Dust Woman, Go Your Own Way.... definitely a classic.

“An album made by and for people cheating on each other.” -John Mulaney

Literally the goat

You need to be living in a bunk if you dont know at least 1 song of this album, its nearly perfect

Perfect

Stone cold classic

Awesome album. A large majority of the songs could carry the album individually. It feels like a greatest hits album.

Probably the best album of all time.

All time classic, perfect road trip soundtrack

Unreal

Greatest album of all time

Amazing. So many hits. Love this album.

Great callback to my youth. This album was good when I was eight but it is great as an adult

Classic rock is classic but DAMN some albums SLAP.

Classic

That was enjoyable.

Fantastic top to bottom

Absolute classic. So many gems on one album. Just great songwriting in general.

How could you not 5-star this one?

Yesssssssss! Probably my favorite album of all time!!

Nearly every song is 'good'. So many classics- I did not realize how many of these I knew

One of my favorite all time

Perfect album

Amazing. Love.

Mellow anthems of the 70's

Album Dios

Classic, had previously listened in full.

One of the best albums I've ever heard

DREAMS

Outstanding, I love this.

brilliant as always

One of the most played albums in my regular rotation, with good reason of course!

I could listen to this again and again.

Several masterpieces.

Lots of classic from Fleetwood and the rest is good, 5 for you!

Good album from start to finish. I like every songs of this album.

One of my favourites of all time.

Pleasant surprise!

Pure foot tapping excellence. This is music. I find it hard to give anything 5 stars because this suggests absolute perfection but, if not this album, what else would be worthy? 5/5.

This is a timeless record that deserves the accolades for it's impact on future iterations of rock / folk music in song structure, arrangements, and harmonies. Nearly every song is a single that stands on it's own merits (only Songbird and Oh Daddy have aged as misses on the album), with multiple songs becoming the standard bearers for defining 'classic rock'. Notable Songs: Dreams, Never Going Back Again, I Don't Want to Know, Gold Dust Woman

Simply one of the best rock albums of all time

Phenomenal album from top to bottom. One of the best bands of the 70s at the top of their game.

Amazing album, never gets old. From the first notes (that make my 1 year old cheer and dance) to the last, Rumours is a sonic gift.

5 1/2 stars

Absolutely lives up

It's Rumours by Fleetwood Mac. There's not much else to say

I have grown up with this album and always absolutely loved it

Classic, harmonies off the chain, true classic

One of my personal favorites.

What am I a pleb? Of course I've heard it. Next.

Many people comes to this record looking for Dreams and thinking Fleetwood Mac it's a One Hit Wonder or that besides this song and Landslide they don't have much to offer. The truth is, this record as a whole is a nice gateway to rock and roll if you let go yourself by the mesmerizing and soft Adult Oriented Rock sound that can be also found in bands like Chicago, Boston or REO Speedwagon that were paving the way to the adult contemporary sound that would blast radio stations at the time. Fleetwood don't deny their blues and folk beginnings here but they actually give it a more pop oriented production, with Christine and Stevie voices so you can actually see why it's a record that divide their fans. Either way you love it or you prefer their earlier days when they were more blues rock and less keyboard. Definitely a record everyone should listen to. Easy access to the band and to rock and roll history itself.

It’s art, I love it for them

Holy peak. Still love the Chain to this day and will never stop

Has several great and classic songs, but doesn't quite reach the top for me

Absolutely amazing, if not a little overrated. Great if your favorite parts of Fleetwood Mac and Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, but I think it is sorely lacking more Christine McVie

A really good, solid, LP

It’s fenomenal. There are some highs and lows but overall fantastic

There are a few track here that just pins this album up a notch

tristemente el final me decepcionó, aunq me gustó.

Fleetwood Mac managed to turn intense, private human interactions into something completely universal.

So yeah, can’t call this a bad album, a bit boring except for the big hits

Loses a star because sometimes you have to listen to Lindsey

Didn't realise how many banger were on this album. Very good

The moment I hit play, a smile spread across my face and I let out a long, involuntary exhale of pure contentment. The album feels refreshing—like sunlight peeking through the clouds after a thunderstorm. It may not be the flashiest or most proactive music out there, but it overflows with irresistible earworms and radiates great chemistry from the band. I imagine this is exactly the kind of music that stomp-clap-hey millennials think they’re making.

Ahh—to feel the peace that passes all understanding that comes when an album is and continues to be everything its legend purports. The Beatles are the only other band to have housed this much talent and tension at one time. I tried...impossible to pick one favorite song. The guitar playing! The harmonies! The harmonies! The harmonies!

With Go Your Own Way and The Chain, I understand why this is a classic album. The list shows it as the number one rated album of all time, and there are just too many duds for me to rate it that way. The album is a solid 4 for the classics alone, but it's definitely not the best album of all time. Stevie's "Silver Springs" being left off this album is fucking absurd...

waow, that's a lotta bangers Standouts: Dreams • Never Going Back Again • Go Your Own Way • The Chain • You Make Loving Fun • I Don't Want to Know

Already heard. Goated

Yeah it's pretty good

I love this album a lot, top 20 oat. very solid strong 9/10. first listen tracklist ranking: 1. The Chain 2. Gold Dust Woman 3. Second Hand News 4. Go Your Own Way 5. Dreams 6. Oh Daddy 7. Don't Stop 8. Songbird 9. I Don't Want to Know 10. Never Going Back Again 11. You Make Loving Fun

yeah it's really good. The Chain has always been one of my favs. Was my first time listening to the whole album so i discovered I Don't Wanna Know which is now in my playlist! The Chain is just this one of a kind songs, and the others, you know it, have this feel-good vibe. I am hesitating to say it's a 5, but definitely a solid 4/5

fave song: The Chain

lots of classics but some songs were just alright

Duas músicas muito boa

This record goes down so smooth. Everyone adores it and for good reason. The music is fantastic, and the cheating and drama is the secret sauce. My favorites are Second Hand News and The Chain. Stevie's vocals are in every good song on here and all of my personal skips are ones she's not on or isn't as visible on.

yea i know rumors

Classic album and iconic cover

From what I’ve heard so far it’s pretty good, it’s something different. Favourite song so far is the chain. Finished the album, I liked 9/11 songs on the album. Final rating would be 8.3/10

Dreams is one of the best songs ever made.

I know there's a general feeling that younger generations are picking this album back up again and it's heavily skewed into the 5 star range. As a kid I always thought Fleetwood Mac was relatively lame from the radio play they got. Later on as an adult I listened to Tusk and that was kind of the foot-in-the-door for my enjoyment of Fleetwood Mac. When I rate albums on here I try not to go off of anything but how it sounds when I listen to it actively. Recently I heard about some passages from David Byrne's book 'How Music Works' that is making me think that I am probably ignoring a bunch of elements that do a disservice to how I understand what is being presented. I know deep down that album covers matter, this one has a classic one. The entire underlying story of this album makes it essential to know about. When great art comes out of just utter chaos I love it because if it's outside of anyone's control it's just that much harder to fake it. My favorite tracks on here are probably the basic ones, 'Dreams', 'The Chain', 'Gold Dust Woman'. These are incredible pieces of music and I'm so glad they exist. 'Don't Stop' is probably the weakest one on here. If it hadn't been on here I might have gone 5 stars. The definitely belongs on whatever list is being made for top albums even if it's not my favorite.

⛈️🌬️🍂🌙🎵

inarguably some great songs (all time classics even) on this album, and as a first time listener I was impressed! but also partly a result of subconsciously knowing so many of these. Great to hear Go Your Own Way outside of a car ad context. The second half of The Chain was also great (is that a basic opinion to have?)

This would be the easiest 5 but you know what? It isn’t. Because Songbird is so boring and Oh Daddy sucks. If they’d kept Silver Springs in and taken those out it would’ve been the best album of all time.

It's Fleetwood Mac, obviously I love it! Just not a full I love it enough to give it a 5

4.2 3x+ very great

Made me say “oooh she tol’ him!”. Yes. Like.

Someone i knew once described it as "niche and underground" – the opposite of this album. And thank goodness for that! Because if there is somewhere who hasn't listened to this album, are you doing alright? You will never go back (haha) after listening to this

Thought it was fun and created a great soundscape. Will listen again

This is literal peak and perfection compared to yesterday’s awful album (Kollaps album). So many great tracks and it’s an easy 8 or 9/10

8.5/10 A collection of great popsongs with a fascinating backstory. Absolute highlight is The Chain, with it's slow buildup and enormously satisfying release when the iconic bassline kicks in. There are a couple of less interesting songs too. I'm not overly fond of McVie's contributions. Highlights: The Chain Gold Dust Woman Go Your Own Way Dreams Don't Stop Second Hand News

Every track a pop hit. And the backstory makes it an even better story of sex, drugs and rock'n'roll

The singles are exceptional

The universal answer to give me a piece of art that was caused by great suffering. I do think this is a great record with great pop rock songs that have become staples in the classic rock pantheon and will stand the test of time. But it does have some overly sentimental moments that make it slightly cheezy (songbird unfortunately falls into this category) I prefer the self titled Fleetwood Mac album before this where Buckingham and Nicks joined. I find songs better than their parallels on rumours (Rhiannon I like a lot more than dreams, Monday morning I prefer to second hand news and say you love me I like a lot more than both of McVies inclusions on rumours ) and also I prefer earlier albums such as then play on with Peter Green and Bare trees with Danny Kirwan and Bob Welch. By no means is this a bad album, I just think the others are better and deserve to be talked about more.

the best part of this album is mcvie's bassline in "the chain". "dreams" good too. buckingham tunes are solid. the album's low points are christine mcvie tunes. "songbird" and "oh daddy" are not my thing. but i like "you make loving fun". tusk is better.

spoczi loczi calkiem szczegolnie druga piosenka mega banger

As much as the hits on this are mega-hits, it doesn’t quite hit as a whole package for me. I find the Lindsey Buckingham solo outings give me the irrits, whereas when you team him up with Christine McVie or Stevie Nicks, the results are sublime. Great, but probably not one I’m likely to listen to the whole album, I’ll just cherry pick the hits and be happy with that

i never had the opportunity to listen to this album but finally did thanks to this website lol!! such refreshing and beautiful music to listen to

I thought this would have been higher for me. But there were a number of songs that were just ok. Still a four.

Dreams is lovely and a lot of other classics. This one is pretty good.

this was created by scientists in a lab to be a universally liked album

I did know most of this album in advance and the hits from this album are genuinely great. I don't know any of the history/politics of the band so I'm not being influenced by any opinions on the drama that may have happened around the time of this album's release. Good album, decent variety in sound, consistently good vocals with good instrumentals. Plenty of classic hits here that are classics for a reason. Unfortunately in my eyes the tracks I didn't already know didn't hold up as well. Going to go with a high 4. Definitely a solid album.

I liked it, but i think the overwhelming praise it gets is a little overblown.

Syvä vihellys Iconic

I mean OF COURSE it’s really, really good

So many good songs here. Even the non-singles hit the spot. An incestuous success.

Rumours is a solid pop rock album but it flirts with cheesiness a lot, and despite being solid, is still front loaded. I respect all 3 songwriters greatly but I’m not content to say they nail everything here. Buckingham comes closest; it’s probably a personal taste thing but his 3 songs all hit the mark for me. “Never Going Back Again” stands out but “Go Your Own Way” was a worthy lead single as the most fully rounded Fleetwood Mac moment even above the excellent “The Chain” credited to the full band. Stevie Nicks delivers strongly on side two with “I Don’t Want to Know” though “Gold Dust Woman” which seems to presage her solo material and, as such, seems an odd choice as closer for Rumours. My most controversial opinion is on her seemingly universally embraced “Dreams”. It has a lot going for it melodically and lyrically and Nicks puts in an excellent performance. The lead melody for me deserves a better setting though. In a pop/rock context, I find it tough to get on board with a two chord wonder and the lion’s share of “Dreams”’s backing track is the first 4 seconds repeated. It’s an issue I will return to when I am served up Tusk by the generator which from memory repeats this format throughout. Across the Fleetwood Mac history, Christine McVie could lay claim to the most important songwriter of all but she’s also the most susceptible to cheesiness and worse, blandness. She does well here, with my favourite probably being “You Make Loving Fun” but yet again it’s the massive hit I feel it necessary to get my claws into. I’m not saying it isn’t well written and singing it along with Buckingham is a good decision, but the arrangement coupled with the incessant bounciness of the rhythm puts it head and shoulders above everything else here on the cheese front. I know Rumours is at heart a pop album, and pop is definitely one of my things, but cheese is far less so. “Don’t Stop” is a good song that goes too far sonically in that cheese direction for my tastes. All told, they do play a blinder across the album, but it seems I am much more reserved in lavishing praise on it than most.

First listen: Really enjoyed the vibes while studying French Second to fourth listen: Optimal background music for Dc

This is an old album for me, I’ve listened to it dozens of times. Timeless classic

I didn’t want to like it because it’s the classic audiophile album that it seems people only listen to it because of its production quality. But I did like it. I thought I would be more familiar with the songs because of its classic status but most of it was new to me. And now I want it on vinyl.

I'm a little torn on how to rate this album. It probably has the best collection of amazing songs of just about any album. But The Christine McVie songs are some of the worst songs ever recorded. Songbird and Oh Daddy are so ridiculously bad that I can't justify saying they are on a 5 Star album. I've listened to this album a thousand times. But for the sake of this project, I've listened to it very carefully a few times through and it's pretty obvious that there are three tiers of this album. 1) Stevie Nicks songs: Gold dust woman, dreams. Absolutely some of the best music ever made.. 2) Lindsey Buckingham songs: fantastic music, moderately okay vocals. Generally pretty good classic rock songs 3) Chrissy McVie songs. Absolute trash

I know it’s a classic album. I know it includes The Chain. I know it has an iconic cover. But it is still just a 4.

4/5 Lots of good songs that I've listened to a lot before. Though I feel like the songs I don't really listen too often to are for a reason. Favorite Song: Dreams or The Chain

Heard it before. The Chain is one of the best songs of all time, not joke. There are lots of bangers on this album. I feel like I'm just a tiny bit less crazy about it than others though? 4/5

I can't tell if it is really that good or a part of me will always be 17-18. What is true is that virtually every song is a banger.

Epic. What a story behind this album too.

I get it

it's pretty much as good as they say

It's too old sounding to me, classic, but idk not for me. high ranking because its a classic and many of my fave artists draw inspiration from them

Well. It’s rumours. It’s great. But not every track is great.

I'm old and this is parents' music. In the 80s, as teens, someone bought this album on cassette and it was cool to listen to the last part of The Chase as it was the Formula 1 music - we didn't listen to the rest. Now that I've finally listened to the whole album, I can't deny that the songs are great compositions etc but it's not my cup of tea.

wow 4/5

These are beautiful songs, all performed impeccably and with the right amount of heart AND drama that gives this albums the accolades it rightfully deserves. The alternating high/low dynamics in "The Chain" unknowingly made a blueprint for decades of emo bands to come, and Christine McVie is truly a shining star on this record. So... why 4 stars? Three lead vocalists leads to too many disparate sounds on the record. It feel less like an incredible album by one band and more like a great compilation by several. The lyrical throughline is there for me, but sonically it just is slightly off enough to ding it slightly for me. Probably truly a 4.5 for me, but I have to work with the numbers I have here.

'Players only love you when they're playing' Me encanta este album. 4.5/5

Pretty good. Clean songs. Like the drums. I like the cover. 4/5 - 5/5

okay well like

Great album, the chain amazing

Zone out a lil bit. It's good

I freaking love you Stevie nicks

I don't know it was good I just don't really feel like reviewing it. I'm tired and it didn't really click with me I'll probably have to look good a few more times and I know it's the most popular one on the app but I don't know it's probably just a 7 for me.

The most solid album I’ve heard so far and it’s obvious why it’s one of the highest rated albums ever. Not fully my cup of tea but had a good time!

Whelp, I guess I’m a Fleetwood Mac fan. Never really listened to them, besides out in the wild (which is why I hate “Don’t Stop”. Overplayed.) but I really liked Tusk and I really like this one. There is just so much going on in the background and all 3 of their voices are so distinct and beautiful in their own way.

I’ve heard this entire album countless times. I’ll always love Dreams and Go Your own Way. Still, I found a new favorite this time in the finger picking sleeper Never Going Back Again. After a few album duds, this is an album that proudly belongs on this list.

This album defined a west coast soft rock sound that other shave copied but not quite achieved maybe, Barely a bad track and just so easy to listen to. Doesn't have the weirdness of Tusk or some of the energy for the first Nicks/Buckingham outing with them but this is the most enduring and memorable.

This is a near-perfect classic in so many ways, and I still love it a lot. I’m a big fan of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, and the whole band in general, so it was easy to get pulled into this record. Overall it feels light and bloody lovely — full of those sunny, catchy melodies and harmonies that make you smile. At the same time though, it’s strangely tense. You can really feel all the drama and pain between Lindsey and Stevie running underneath the songs. The background story of the band falling apart while making the album is basically written all over every track, and that mix of happy surface with heavy heartbreak underneath is what makes it so special. Having said that, I do think it’s a bit overrated. It’s a great album, no doubt, but it’s not flawless and it’s definitely not a complete no-skip record for me. A couple of songs drag a little or feel less strong than the big hits. Still, when it hits, it really hits. A classic that I’ll keep coming back to, just not quite the untouchable masterpiece some people claim it is.

A good album, I know it’s universally loved but I think it may be slightly overhyped

Grew up with this in the background. 1001 16.4.26 1. Dreams 2. Songbird 3. Go Your Own Way

Pretty good album, some really good songs

Gold Dust Woman

I see why it’s rated so highly.

Like an old glove, so familiar. The obvious big singles then the rest is a familiar memory of a bygone era. Well worth a listen.

Very good. Surprised this is the highest rated album of the 300+ I've listened to so far 4

Really wish I could do half stars bc this is a 3.5 if I've ever heard one. Dreams, The Chain, and Go Your Own Way are doing a lot of heavy lifting here.

Every song is a bop. Love this one.

MAI WAIF!

I liked this, didn't love it. I understand it's one of the highest rated albums on this list so I had high hopes but nothing about it made me think "this deserves an immediate 5". So I'm giving it a 4 and I think I'd need to listen to it again.

Evento canónico

Okay Boomer, get ready to have your favorite band summarily dismissed. Oh you prefer The Eagles, Steely Dan, Linda Ronstadt, Barry Manilow, Elton John, Neil Diamond, Chicago, Journey, Boston, Styx, Foreigner, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Genesis, The Beach Boys, Queen, ABBA and/or the Bee Gees? Okay, I guess you're the exception to having had a copy of Rumours then. What's my point? These songs are still everywhere. The stories of the band being fussy about studio perfection and all the epic interpersonal turmoil seem to be continuously threaded through that generation's white musical identity. And, more than any other Fleetwood Mac record, it's Rumours that holds the throne. At this point, Fleetwood Mac's Rumours is an easy punching bag, and frankly we're punching up (in the "right" direction) when we do. Your children should want to reject and tear down the work of the artists you've placed on a pedestal. The impulse to make things their own and remake ought to be honored...go your own way, am I right? And yet, that attitude is also of a particular culture and way of seeing. But I don't want to be a "good subject" here, I don't need a boomer mommy and, oh, daddy telling me I need to respect the traditions of my elders and pay tribute to the classics. And yet, and yet, I'll be damned if this isn't still a good record today. Near perfect in its construction in total commitment to the songs with their memorable lyrics and melodies. There's a song for nearly everyone on this record. I'm certain many listeners have one they hold special for the connection it made as they went through a break up or some other tough situation. This is going to be one of the most begrudging high ratings I give. Will it get five stars? No, but only because I bar music I wouldn't personally endorse from my five-star rankings. Could it otherwise get such a ranking? Yes, it could. Now I'm shaking my fist at the sky and railing against your frail, aging bodies listening to your Rumours and your Aja — as you have a stranglehold on so much. Damn your love, Damn your lies as they say.

B A N G E R. 4.5/5

Fantastic album. Something for everyone on this.

Bruh no need to explain

A very good album that is not the best Fleetwood Mac album- that honor belongs to Tusk. The bangers everyone knows on here are just that: bangers. Wasn't super crazy about the songs I had already heard before. An excellent album that doesn't quite get a 5 in my book.

Have already heard it and it’s very very good. Easy listening album for sure. 4/5

Soft and rhythmic. I liked it.

Love when a classic is a classic for a reason, think I like Tusk a little more tho

All right, here it is. The number one rated album on this site. And its.... pretty good but I don't see why it's number one. Starts off on a dud, Second Hand News is just meh. Dreams, though is a classic, great song. Never Going Back Again was some decent easy listening, but nothing exciting. Don't Stop was pretty fun. Go Your Own Way, of course, is amazing. Songbird was pretty sweet. The Chain was really fun, had a Wester guitar twangy feel, and a great guitar solo. You Make Loving Fun was pretty smooth with some more good guitar work. I Don't Want To Know was fun. Oh Daddy was really good, nice chill vibe. Gold Dust Woman had really good music. Overall it was a banger of an album. Just don't see the perfection that other people are seeing. Best song: The Chain

Imagine being in a band where you just fucking HATE other people in the band because they were married to you. Only way to produce straight bangers

white music at it’s peak really so good I love the drumbeats but it gets a little slow repetitive at times

Second Hand News gives me joy.

pretty chill to listen through

1977. The recording sessions took place as the band members dealt with breakups and struggled with heavy drug use (cocaine), both of which shaped the album's direction and lyrics. Recorded with the intention of making "a pop album".

A true classic.

really love this; vocals, instruments, etc. great summary of the genre of music I'm fond of. favorite tracks were dreams, the chain, you make loving fun and gold dust woman.

One of the most solid albums ever released. Not my favourite but it's hard to argue about the consistent standards of this record.

I've heard some of the songs from this album before, so I enjoyed listening to the full thing for once. I tossed in Silver Springs to my queue right after, as I think it's at least spiritually part of this album.

Highlights são 5, mas geral 4. Gostei do video de contexto toxico

4/5. "Rumours" is one of the consistently highest rated albums, taking top 5 slots in those dubious "top 100/300/500 albums of all time" lists decade after decade. There's good reason for that, it's an amazing album. It's listenable the whole way through and has unique stylings and varied composition to boot. Lyrics can be hard-hitting in delivery but are extremely accessible. I think my favorite here is "Never Going Back Again." Buckingham does wonders on the guitar and the vocal harmony at the end is angelic. "Dreams," "Don't Stop," "The Chain," and "Go Your Own Way" make for a ridiculous line of hit after hit on the first part of the album, and even the lesser known songs are good. That said, I don't think this is a must-listen. It's a brilliant set of rock songs, but it's not going to change your lives thanks to its content or execution. Still, great album if you enjoy soft rock.

An album I had explored/band I almost went to see in concert towards the end of high school, but probably haven’t revisited too much since then - so many great songs on here. Well known songs aside, I took this opportunity to listen to this album several times through and read more about its creation/inspiration. None of the lyrics are profound here, but the music and vocal harmonies are very pleasant and the turmoil the band was experiencing at the time of the album’s recording lent to the themes explored throughout. A classic for sure.

the only fleetwood song ive ever really like was go your own way so i went in fully expecting to hate this and was pleasantly surprised how much i ended up liking most of the songs. there were a few songs that drug the album as a whole down, in particular, "you make loving fun" and the last two songs.

Wonky ass cowboy music

Classic album with some great songs of course, but it isn't entirely my preference sonically. I (maybe controversially) prefer Tango In The Night

hot wiskhey small cabin

How to turn intra-band love turmoils into pop gold. A few corny moments - and might start with its weakest song - but there's enough sweet stuff here to carry the day.

We had been married for over 10 years when I discovered my wife LOVES Fleetwood Mac. It just never came up before that.

Malo prehajpovan

really good and so iconic too i knew so many of the songs without realising it

A pop rock album that has its appeal like the vocal harmonies, the overall very clear and crisp sound. It's without a doubt a hallmark of the 70's post hippie rock. But the thing is that I doubt I'll listen it very often as I like it better when things are a bit rough on the edge. Favorite Songs: Don't Stop ; Go your own way ; The Chain

Yezzir

Decent enough. & I think I get why this is the highest rated album: * Enough bangers that everyone recognises * Artist hasn't done anything to piss the public off * Good story behind it * Very inoffensive rock music But honestly, a few of the songs on here are actually pretty mid. And it's certainly not the best album on the this list, just an easy 5 for a lot of people. 7.5 / 10 Best track/s: The Chain, Dreams, Don't Stop

Pillowy soft rock. Fittingly for the epitome coke fueled 70s mega rock, the highs are HIGH but the lows are a drag. Some all time pop bangers, huge emotions painted in bright and broad, ultra clean production, a floaty laid back mood containing a lingering darkness. Now that we're all over the basicness & uncoolness of liking this it has become a bit overrated, but still, it's a warm bath. Feels good, man.

I mean it's good for a reason. Stevie Nicks voice is just like wow. The songs have such chemistry it's like when you fry an egg in the bacon grease that came before it.

Fabulous album. Showcases the talents and strengths of every band member. Just as fresh sounding now as when it was launched.

The most pleasant divorce record of all time. You can tell they all absolutely hated each other and took a lot of cocaine but it's wonderful. The guitar on ¨The Chain¨ is the angriest, bitterest guitar solo in the history of the world and ¨Go Your Own Way¨ sounds like the soundtrack to the daydream of the better life you wish you had.

Great album!

listened to most songs on it before but liked Gold Dust Woman because I recognised it but had never actually listened to it before

Brought back mid 70s memories!

Oops, all hits!

I was surprised with how many songs were classics. I don't think Fleetwood Mac is this godsend from heaven but the album is solid

Most overrated album of all time? I wouldn't say that, but maybe it is somewhere in the top 10, I cannot lie. I can't really stand the songs that focus on Lindsey. I mean, they are fine, but that's the extent: fine. His voice is alright, and the style is too folkish for my liking. The songs that feature Stevie in the slightest, though? That's another story. For the longest time, I thought she was the sole vocalist of this band; I'd rarely heard songs that strictly or mostly featured the guy. Yeah, the drama surrounding these guys is way better than the album. I fuckin' love it. Nothing will ever top it in any way, shape, or form. God, I wish I was there to witness it firsthand. Like, for real now, the songs are so bleak. I love, love 'Dreams' and 'The Chain.' The other songs are all good but not outstanding. 'Go Your Own Way' is great, though. Can't forget 'Oh Daddy', it's so underrated. McVie is simply the goat. The melody is different from the whole album: darker, more powerful, I love it. I think I hate 'Songbird' the most. Also I'm pained that 'Silver Springs' is only featured on the deluxe version. That's my all-time favorite. Well, that and 'Rhiannon,' but that's on another album. Yeah, call me basic cuz I like the popular songs; they're popular for a reason. I always try to get into Fleetwood Mac but never do, and I always keep on forgetting why that is. Well, this time I'll have it written down. Those most popular songs are the ones that are more 'radio-friendly,' so to say. More commercial. The rest have too many folk-ish elements (or soft rock I'm no expert) in them for me to like them. Do I think this album deserves the top spot for highest-rated albums on this list? No. Does my opinion matter? Also no. It's a good album; it's just not THAT good by any means. DAMN, THIS ALBUM IS OLD. I'm just now realizing this. My mom was 3 days old when this was released.

1. okay this is what im fucking talking about. Fleetwood mac's rumors. Fuckin A. I love and adore stevie nicks, she was a beautiful feminine witch with a powerful and demanding presence. Some of my favourite songs are on this album and i'm listening to the super deluxe version cuz this one has silver springs on it. This first song is alright. Not my favourite. Catchy, but whatever, not a great way to start an album tbh. 2. Okkaaayyyyyy FUCKING DREAMS FUCK YEAH. Very slow, very evocative. Stevie gets to shine, the way it should always be. 'Players only love you when they're playing', a lyric so timeless and poignant that it literally transcends any decade or generation, it could've easily been written today. Sooooo ahead of it's time. 3. one of my favourites on the album. Beautiful folk song. Lindsey sounds like a girl. From what I understand that's lindsey playing one guitar but making it sounds like two, genius. Hard to say if its a sad song or a happy song. To me it's sort of restless, like the melody reminds you of how good you had it back there but the lyrics remind you that you're desperate to leave. Those little sharp notes on the guitar are so pretty, and lindsey's voice is also a little sharp and choppy but in a good way. the song goes fast and it's simple and it reminds me of being back home in south. Even though i've never been to the south. "You don't know what it means to win" is a lyric that doesn't have a lot of backbone but because the guitar gets lower during the second verse and because lindsey sings it with a lot pathos it makes it sound very confrontational. Beautiful. 4. Then followed by don't stop. Okay i'll be honest with you, so so catchy but not their best song. It's the song that they use to sell cars and for good reason, it's their most obvious mainstream catchy jingle song. Not a lot going on with this one, but very sweet melody and to be COMPLETELY FAIR, the lyrics, while somewhat cheesy, are very uplifting and do put some wind in my sails. The dead stop right at 2:15 is the best part. 5. Okay this one's not my favourite either IM SO SORRYYYYYYYY. I know the whole story behind it and how lindsey and stevie were fighting blah blah blah it just doesn't really blow me away, but lindsey sounds like a girl on this one which i do like. 6. Okay, I don't think i've ever heard this one before. This doesn't sound like stevie or lindsey, im guessing its christy? Okay i just looked it up and im right. It's nice i guess. nothing stands out. 7. Okay we're talking about the fuckING CHAIN BABY. Fucking genius, brilliant, totally and completely unique. a folk rock song in the middle of a soft rock album from 1977 that could be the background of every single climax in a superhero movie from the last 40 years. That's the power of the song. Just goes to show, you don't need to scream, you dont need anything loud or percussive, this song is so melodic and has so many little romantic flourishes but it is so powerful and angry and has so much fucking energy. The harmonies in the choruses are the best, lindsey and stevie at their best. The intro is legendary, it keeps you so invested, the music is telling a story with an obvious introduction, tension and a climax. Adding another line in the second verse after 'damn your love damn your lies' is BRILLIANT, "damn the dark damn the light" is BRILLIANT I LOOOOVVVVEEEE ITTTTT. 8. Don't think i've ever heard this one either. Another Christy one, I LIKE IT, I really like the chorus, really pretty. Im gonna listen to this again later. 9. Okay, once again, unfortunately even fleetwood mac can't escape 70s corniness. This song is corny, BUT I STILL LIKE IT I SWEAR, i just dont think its a great song, but it is sweet and fun, but in a sitcom theme song kind of way. 10. I don't think i've ever heard this one either! hmm not my favourite, kinda slow. Sorry christy, but you're just not what im here for. 11. Once again, like they did with the chain, nothing is outwardly aggressive, but its one of the angriest songs on the album. It sounds like stevie's confronting you and the music is backing her up with this relentless and devastating confrontation. The banjo being so simple and the guitars being so slow makes everything seem more dangerous?? Does that make sense? Once again stevie used her witch powers to let us KNOW, no one has to yell or scream, and the song can go slow, but it's fucking scary and aggressive. Like the vibrations you feel before an earthquake. So good. 12. Alright folks. we saved the best for last. Cannot BELIEVE that this was only worth a b-side. This is their defining song. Easily my favourite song of theirs. I have no idea what to say about this song. One of my favourite songs of all time, literally. Lets put the drama aside and just focus on the song. Unlike the other songs, stevie sings this with a lot of vulnerability. First of all, the melody is beautiful, its my favourite. Hard to explain why. So unabashedly melodic and high and pretty and emotional. Then the hexx, holy shit. Stevie put a curse in a song and sang it a million times to lindsey. 'give me just a chance, you'll never get away from the sounds of the woman that loves you'. And then she gets desperate and angry at the very end. Incredible to listen to a woman sing so desperately while also being the most powerful one in the room. Perfect combination of feelings and melody and emotion. 13. okAY IM SO SORRY but now i have to talk about the live version from 97. Stevie sings it a lot lower, obviosuly, cuz it's 20 years later and she's much older. But it's better. It's later, they're old, but they're BETTER. Incredible. This is the definitive version for me. It adds like three different layers from the recording. Extra little piano notes, extra little wind chime sounds, extra layers of harmonies, it makes everything feel bigger. Stevie sings this with the maturity of an older woman, which means that she's pretty reserved for the first two verses and chorus. But then we get to the climax. Jesus christ. oNE OF MY FAVOURITE Pieces of music ever. Now it's a chant, not a harmony or just stevie singing. Not only is she hexxing him but she has an entire chorus hexxing him with her. She is singing deep into lindsey's soul and singing with the fire of a thousand suns. The little dip in the first 'you'll never get a-way-ey from the sound of the woman that loves you' is easily in my top 3 favourite moments in any song i've ever heard. It makes me want to fall in love and have my heart broken but be soul bound to my evil ex-boyfriend because we'll never be able to let go of each other. A 6 second piece of music that belongs in the conversation of greatest human discoveries along with fire and the wheel. Stevie and lindsey pulled this out of thin air and made me understand love and sorrow like i'd lived it myself. I cant thank them enough.

Muutaman kerran jo entuudestaan kuunnellu koko levyn ja kierrossa muutenkin. 4/5.

As iconic as it is, I think this falls short of greatness

I think 4 stars is good for this one. I know people love it, and definitely some great songs but just didn't love the whole thing.

Great classic rock album

This is one of those albums that took decades to grow in me. Part of it is learning the history and make of this album. You can hear it in the final tracks. And I think it was part of the formula to create this lightning in a bottle.

Not really a fan, but containing all these hits (especially "Go Your Own Way" and "The Chain") I have to admit it is a pretty strong album. Mainly "Songbird" costs them the five stars for me. 4,5

My favorite song from this album is The Chain, followed by Dreams and Go Your Own Way A perfect mix of drama, talented writing and music

amazing album with the number of singles and iconic songs but not necessarily my slap

Holy peak 🥹❤️

White folks really did something with this one

The Chain, Don't Stop, Go Your Own Way und einige andere... Gut!

«Go Your Own Way», «The Chain», «Gold Dust Woman» — каждая песня знает, про кого она написана, и от этого слушается иначе.

Already a fan, ya didn't have to convince me.

Look, it’s a classic for a reason. Taking a point off because Lindsay Buckingham was a snake for not including Silver Springs on this. I needed more Stevie Nicks. Best: Gold Dust Woman, The Chain, Dreams, You Make Loving Fun Worst: Oh Daddy (it should have been Silver Springs)

After listening to this, I can see why this is a highly regarded album. The band's instruments and vocals honestly harmonise so well together, evident in the first track "Second Hand News". Each song has its unique charm. From the mellow "Dreams", which is such a vibe. To the powerful track "The Chain", amazing buildup and emotion poured into it. No wonder why they're so popular. There are a few misses on here that I didn't really like, such as "Never Going Back Again" and "Oh Daddy". However, I wouldn't mind listening to this again. Great album.

Rumours is a really good album. I don't have a lot to point out about it, I really enjoyed listening to it. 4/5

I’m surprised the big hits still haven’t lost their luster after being overplayed for decades. It’s a huge album for a reason: interesting recording process, some amazing songs, iconic artwork, and doesn’t overstay its welcome. I found a handful to be meh but didn’t hate them either. Rating: 4.4

The highs are high, but overrated as a project imo. Incredible lore, but idk I’m also not super in to celebrating toxicity. Perhaps a place in time that I missed. Listened to: in Bridgeport before The Dollop. Favorite tracks: Second Hand News, Songbird, The Chain

-ok interesting vibe, Idk much about fleetwood mac but I didnt realize that they did this kinda genre like I thought they were more rock. maybe just the first song is like this oh wow guitar solo!! ok!!! slay OH DREAMS HOLY MOLY ok ive heard this song before this is really good dude this song is long its ok tho its fire ok back to the kinda blue vibes.. hnm.. idk woah? ok cool start wooa ok this is nice woah kinda sad...cool guitar tho OHH i recognize this song wait this slaps you can gooo your owwwn way hmm interesting start THIS IS THE TIME CAST A SLEEP ON YOU SONG?????? ok it slaps but its soo overplayed like can tiktoks and reels like stop using it genuinely shut up it slaps tho WOAH? OH? wait this sounds so incredibly sad lets go oooh.. mysterious...funky...OO.. nice..idk...interesting OK OVERALL: there are definetely some good gems, alot of it tho is a little slow for my liking. the songs that are ok are just kinda boring but the songs that are good are GOOD so its interesting definetely. maybe 8/10? 7.5? something like that. 7.7/10 7.8/10

great album

i already knew a lot of these, i love fleetwood mac! favs: dreams don’t stop go your own way songbird the chain you make loving fun gold dust woman rating 4/5

A collection of classic songs. All individually great and it deserves to be a classic. Just something missing for me that doesn't inspire ever putting it on heavy rotation.

it good ig. lowk a lame ass album to be the highest rated on the site tho. yall boring asf on here

Yes, I've heard the songs from it a thousand times - on the radio, in shops, cafes, bars, here and there. but listening to it end-to-end, I realised (again) how beautifully crafted it is, the space for the voices, the harmonies, and the detail of the arrangements where sometimes it drops down to one acoustic guitar accompanying those glorious harmonies

I always forget just how folk-y Fleetwood Mac's sound is. But it has a real country folk feeling. This is a massive album that must have been on everyone I know's record shelf in the 80s and 90s. Four massive hits that are still played to this day, Dreams, Go Your Own Way, Dont Stop and The Chain... even though most people don't know that they know the Chain until 3:06. This album reminds me of growing up and I can hardly believe that it is from 1977. It is a ubiquitous album that seems to have just always been there to fall back on and will be played over and over again on so many road trips and Saturdays. (4.000)

Leuk, afwisselend

Rumor is they misspelled the album title.

Variety, quality recording, fantastic song writing, a pleasure to hear.

Hieno levy! Paljon radio soitossa olleita hittejä. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tämä levy kannattaa kuunnella kunnon vehkeillä. Todella hyvin toteutettu kokonaisuus!

Nostalgic type shi

i feel like you can listen to this album whenever and it never gets old.

Already listened, and I think it's a little bit overrated. Not bad, in fact I quite like a few of the songs on it, more overrated in the sense that the songs I don't like quite as much didn't really live up to the precedent that other songs on the album had set. Still, a good album made by an obviously talented band, 8.5/10

I have heard many of the hits on this album but listening to it as a whole you really feel something different. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would and I already knew they were good.

Nunca habia escuchado el álbum completo, temakis
