I love this album. Apart from brainstorm interlude and drive you home, which I tend to skip each song has something which always makes me want to listen again. Nick McCabes guitar work is outstanding. Checkout the acoustic version of On Your Own. Brilliant version which is good to play along to.

Not a patch on Purple Rain.
Not my scene and started off ok, but just got annoying after a while

Outwith Remasters this is the only "proper" Zeppelin album I actually own and it's a classic. Rightfully hailed as one of the greatest albums of all time.
Dull
Wasn't sure what to expect with this but it has just the right mix of "normal" mixed with Enos weirdness. Really liked it and will listen to his next album as recommended by Iain C
I love this album. Apart from brainstorm interlude and drive you home, which I tend to skip each song has something which always makes me want to listen again. Nick McCabes guitar work is outstanding. Checkout the acoustic version of On Your Own. Brilliant version which is good to play along to.
Boring, generic pop music
2 stars. One for Chicago and one for trying something different.
Not my favourite REM album, but it's up there. A fine follow up to Life's Rich Pageant, which is a better overall album, but lacks the big singles that Document has.
I've tried numerous times over the years to get into the Pixies but something just doesn't click with me. Listened to this a few times and there is nothing that makes me want to listen to it again.
Why is this on the list and INXS - Kick isn't? It's far superior in every way to this bland effort.
Not my bag.
Starts with an epic track and although it never reaches those heights again there are some really good songs on this album. Will definitely give it some more listens.
Not my favourite Cure album, but probably the easier listen out of their earlier stuff. A Forest is the standout track that is still a regular in their live set.
As wacky and zany as I'd expected. Everyone knows Rock Lobster and there are some catchy tunes on this album, but at times I just wish they'd leave the singing to Cindy and Kate as I find Fred's vocal irritating
tennie-bob pop
Classic singer with a great voice but not my cup of tea.
Legendary soul singer, but not a style i can listen to for long
Don't mind a bit of swing, but this is just awful. Dull and boring and goes nowhere. Gave up half-way through zzzzz
Loved this album ever since I heard it as a kid in the car going on holiday. There are some great individual songs but as an album it flows beautifully and only really lets up when it gets to "Why don't you write me" and the cover of "Bye Bye Love"
Never liked Come on Eileen when it came out so put me off ever listening to this album, but there are some decent songs on this, although not enough that would make me actively want to listen to it.
Enjoyed this album at the time, but haven't listened to it for years. In hindsight, outwith the main singles there are a couple of good songs here, "My Oh My" and a good cover of "Say Hello, Wave Goodbye", but a lot of it is pretty dull sounding now.
Not a musical style I'll actively listen to (too shmooove for me), but Sade does have a great soulful voice.
Dull as 3 day old dishwasher
The mans a legend, but his music is not for me.
This is just nonsense!
Not as good as Elephant
Only managed to listen once and sounds alright. Needs further listens.
Grime, shmime! Really hate this stuff!
Grew up listening to this era of Beatles so this album had a major influence on my musical taste.
Can hear the influences this has had on other artists but none of the individual songs grab me and make we want to listen again.
My least favourite S&G album. Apart from the main well known hits, the rest is a bit dull.
A few decent songs, but still not a fan. 2 stars for the decent songs and an extra 1 for Fleas bass playing.
A classic album with some Queen classic songs. Some of which are even better live than on record, Love of My Life being one of them.
It's The Byrds Jim, but not as we know it :-(
A couple of interesting songs which maybe enough to warrant checking out other albums, but this tends to become a bit background listening
Liked Wood Beez back in the day and there are a couple of decent tunes here but nothing that matches up with the big hit.
Classic British metal with some classic tunes
Thankfully this passed me by in 1993. Dull as dishwasher!
Never liked them, always found them dreary and drippy and this album just reinforces that. Awful!
Heavily influenced by The Beatles - Help album but there are some good songs on this.
Had listened to this previously and it's definitely an album that gets better the more you listen to it. Happy when it rains and April skies are instant likes, but tracks like Nine Million Rainy Days and Fall in particular grow on you over time.
Didn't like this kind of music at the time and I don't like it now.
Some good stuff on here but it's a bit of a chore to get through as there are just too many songs and not all of them good. This feels like George just dumped all the songs he'd been working on onto one album when The Beatles split.
It's some c£$t from Preston!
On A Rope aside (which was huge at the time), it's pretty a pretty underwhelming album overall.
I knew Spellbound well and there are some good tracks on here. Given it a 3 initially but could see it being upgraded to a 4 with more listens
zzzzzzz!
Don't mind a bit of Abba. Some good songs on this along with a couple that are a bit "meh". I can't stand Dancing Queen, but Knowing Me, Knowing You is a great song.
I really hate prog!
This album was just "ok" at the time and it's just "ok" now. A couple of decent songs, but for the most part it's just missing something :-/
A couple of fillers on this (I'm looking at you "Bring Back That Leroy Brown"!), but overall it's still a great album.
Classic Bernie Edwards bass and Nile Rodgers guitar, but does get a bit repetitive after a while. Good times is still a classic though.
A few bangers on this, but it does get repetitive after a while.
Not sure why we need one Steely Dan album in this list never mind three!
Some of my favourite S&G songs on this but overall not quite as good as Troubled Water. I'd give it 4.5/5 if I could.
Some great songs on this, but always found "When September Ends" to be a bit of a drag.
I love the cure and this is an album I've tried to listen to a few times previously but this is a hard listen.
Taylor Swift is a huge artist, but I honestly think it shows the state of the music industry these days that she is so huge. If she was around in the 80s she (and this album) would be fairly run of the mill. She's a female Ed Sheeran!
Some interesting social commentary, but every song sounds the same and I reckon I could fit "You've got a friend in me" lyrics into every song on this album :-/
Never got to grips with his solo stuff. Nothing on here to make me want to listen again (snooze).
Some of the best songs ever written mixed in with some absolute duffers. If this was a single LP with the best tracks, it would be up there with Revolver as the best album of all time. Still, for all that it's still worth a solid 4/5
Enjoyed this album for the most part when it came out. FF were a bit different from other bands around at the time and it's always good to see a local Glasgow band doing well. Album has some good songs and although not one I could listen to on repeat, it still sounds good over 20 years after it was released.
A bit too low-fi for me. Might have enjoyed this in 1993, but not enough to grab me these days.
One of my favourite albums of all time. Opening 3 tracks are outstanding, a slight lull with Why Go, but then side 1 closes with 2 incredibly powerful songs in Black and Jeremy. My only criticism would be that side 2 doesn't match up to side 1 in overall quality but when side 1 is that good.....
I don't hate it, but it's not something I'd actively put on to listen to.
Was expecting much better!
Started off ok, but drags on a bit after a while.
Overall as an album it's not brilliant as there are a few fillers, but there are also some great songs on there. Baba O'Riley is a brilliant opener (and amazing live), Bargain is pretty good but for me the quality drops significantly until we get to Behind Blue Eyes and then the epic Won't Get Fooled Again which is one of the greatest songs of all time.
Some very well known tracks on here that I never knew he sang. Without You is a classic ballad also covered by Maria Carey and as soon as the opening of Coconut started I instantly pictured the Reservoir Dogs crew :-D
Was decent back in the day and they were good fun live.
Never been a fan of The Boss. Individually these songs are ok, but as an album I just find it boring.
Don't rate this based on listening through a crappy little Amazon Echo device. Needs a decent system to do it justice.
Really can't stand Dylan's vocal. I'd rather listen to The Byrds singing his songs and Milltown Brothers do a great version of "It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" Disc 2 with the band is a hell of a lot better though so an extra star for that.
This is the only album of theirs I can really listen to due to Liz Frasers weird vocals on all the earlier stuff. She's a bit more normal sounding on this one where you can almost make out what she's singing 🤣 I love dreampop and shoegaze but, brilliant as it is, I'm not sure I'd recommend this as an entry into the genre. Better starting with bands like Ride, Slowdive, Lush (specifically Spooky as it was produced by Robin Guthrie) and then revisiting this to appreciate it more.
Album that inspired a genre. Has some great moments.
Not as good overall as Thriller but there are still some classic songs on here. Main issue is the overuse of his vocal ticks Shamone-heHeeeee etc Worth a 3.5
Musically this has some interesting moments but the vocals really put me off to the point where I can't listen to it.
Always found The Shamen a bit hit and miss. Move any Mountain is great (I've still got my original single form when it was released) but most of this just merges into 1.
not my cup of tea.
Singles get played on the radio all the time but don't think I've listened to this fully since the 90s. Still holds up well ironically apart from Ironic which is ironic, or is it? No it isn't ;-)
Got some decent songs but overall not a patch on her first 3/4 albums
Gave this a couple of listens. Never been a fan of this twee indie pop. Lyrically interesting but nothing musically that makes we want to listen again.
Sigh! There is only so much of Janis wailing like a banshee I can take!
Dull as feck!
Song for song I still prefer Modern Life Is Rubbish (which was 2 years ahead of it's time) but Parklife is still a essential album.
s'alright a couple of good tracks on here. Check out Lana Del Rey's cover of Season of the Witch.
I like a bit of synth-pop but was never a fan of Soft Cell at the time. Tainted love is a classic, but apart from that and Say Hello, Wave Goodbye i'm not keen on the rest of it.
Not a patch on Purple Rain.
Not my cup of tea musically but I do like Ms Jackson
pretty forgettable album.
Like Bug, there are some interesting moments on this musically, but Just naw to j masticulitis voice!
Decent background while writing code
If you are going to listen to a Lana album, listen to Born to Die and Ultraviolence. I've always found her later albums dull and lacking edge and this is a prime example.
I must be the only shoegazer who just can't get into MBV at all.
would rather listen to him singing the blues than big band
some classic covers on here
Zzzzz! What? It's finished? Sorry, I fell asleep! Zzzzz
Essentially a David Bowie album, which has some good moments. Giving it a 3/5 after one listen but will listen again. I had no idea China Girl was originally released in 77. Only knew about Bowies version in 83
Granted, they have some decent songs over their vast catalogue, but they are a band I just don't like and never have. Californiacation is one of the worst songs I've ever heard.
It's ok, probably not as good as It's Blitz!
utter dross
More familiar with The Beatles versions of some of these songs but there are some classic rock n roll songs here and then he wastes it by playing Your Cheatin' Heart :-D
A couple of Beach Boys classic. Not great overall as an album though.
There are too many songs on this and they are all over the place
Basement Joke! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6HR0-1wsJw
The guitar on the title track is insane!
Not a fan of the country stuff, but the bluesy stuff is not too bad
Never been a fan of Dylans voice but this is not too bad.
some great songs but also a few fillers.
standard meh American indie "rock"
ice background music in a latin themed restaurant :-)
Gloria definitely the stand out. Rest is ok.
Dull, dull, dull. They've always been dull.
Frontier Psychiatrist is really good (haven't heard it for years, but I can still picture parts of the music video) but the rest of it is not my bag.
Tend to only ever listen to 70's Bowie, but really enjoyed this one
Not my favourite Doves album, but still some good tracks on here. Words, There Goes the Fear, Pounding and Caught by the River are the standouts for me
Can hear it's influence especially on Black Sabbath but they took it to the next level
I love Blur, but i've always found this album a bit hit and miss. Beetlebum and Song 2 are up there with the greatest album openers, but there are a lot of fillers. Ideally I'd give it 3.5 out of 5
Classic band, classic album with some classic songs.
Decent without being amazing
Gets annoying after a while
Quite enjoyed this for the most part. Kicks is good and it's the first time i've heard this pre-Monkees version of "I'm not your steppin' stone" However, "melody for an unknown girl" sounds like something Telly Savalas would have done in the 70s! A shocker!
I can appreciate the musicianship but I just don't like Jazz
can't get into reggae at all.
Much better than Last Broadcast. Catch The Sun is an instant classic, but Rise is the standout on this for me and probably still my favourite Doves song.
Only ever heard Double-Dutch which is still a catchy tune, but not bothered with the rest of it.
Hip hop is not my scene but this has some good moments. "The Magic Number" is still a good tune as is "Eye Know".
More Jazz, Niiiice
As bland and inoffensive as it can get *yawn*
Never been a fan mainly as I find his voice annoying, but the 2 big singles are still decent.
quite enjoyed this, in particular Easy Blues. Not quite a 4/5 probably a 3.5 with further listens.
lovely voice and some well known songs on this, but not my cup of tea
Dull. 1 extra point for Born to Run, but even then I still prefer the Frankie Goes to Hollywood version
When i first heard this when it came out I thought the opening track on this was brilliant, but was underwhelmed by the rest of it. After another few listens, it's not really grown on me any more.
incredibly dull
Title track is a classic and a standout on the album. Other tracks are ok.
Not a band i was ever keen on. Psycho Killer apart, this doesn't do much for me.
pointless!
was never a fan
Really like the first half of this album, but for me it falls away badly after Little 15. I Want You Now is just awful.
Decided to just skip a track at the first mention of "Mutha F'er". Album probably lasted <20mins! I know I'm not the target audience for this, but even at that, this is just utter dross!
An absolute classic from one of the greatest bands of all time, which still sounds amazing over 35 years later. The fact that a lot of these songs still appear on their live set lists just shows how great they are (and they sound even better live). I still get goosebumps listening to Pictures Of You.
sigh! more terrible lyrics with multiple mutha f'rs etc Utter drivel
We will fall drags on too long, but apart from that this is class
Decent bluesy rock. La Grange is still a belter and the rest is ok.
Never been a fan of Dire Straits and this is dull as dishwater for the most part. Sultans of Swing is still a classic though.
Never been a Rush fan, but I did enjoy this
Why is this on the list? There is nothing special about it. It's about as generic as generic can get.
Was never a fan, but Souvenir is still a tune
Lassie can sing but her songs are p1sh
just irritating noise
like listening to an (even) duller David Gray album
Easiest 5 star ever. One of the greatest albums of all time.
The main singles are still ok, but the cover of Help! is abysmal
Enjoyed this when it came out but I did get bored of it really quickly. "Main Offender" and "Hate to say i told you so" are still decent but the rest sounds really dated.
Some big singles on this which still sound great today (Shout, Head over Heels in particular). Album tracks are a bit hit and miss though. The reason I always thought of them as a singles band. Would give it 3.5 if i could.
A band I never really got into apart from a handful of songs, Run in particular on this album. There were much better Shoegaze/Dream Pop albums around in 1991/92. Ride - Going Blank Again, Lush - Spooky and Slowdive - Just For a Day to name 3.
tough listen. Initially sounded like it might be ok like early Jesus and Mary Chain, but just becomes a racket.
Sabotage is a banger, but this genre has never been for me.
Middle of the road mid 90's grunge(lite)
Perfect Skin is still decent, but the rest is average
funky bongo beats
pfffft!!
I've heard better cuntry music in a Smokey and the Bandit movie!
Take it Easy is the best of a bad lot. Total snooze fest zzzzz!
more dire American "alternative rock"!
4 out of 5 only because overall it's not as good as Zeppelin II or IV
69 love songs too many!
For an album without any obvious Beach Boys classics on it, this is pretty decent.
Excellent album (for putting you to sleep zzzzz!) Boring!
S'alright, definite influence on artists like Sheryl Crow
Usual dull drivel from the "Boss". The River Detectives version of Factory is much better as well.
Not their best
Robbie does Britpop. It was alright at the time and alright now. Cant be bothered with Angels though, drag of a song but can see why it was popular.
Owned a copy of this album since 1990. Singles are still awesome but Dennis and Lois is my fav.
some classic songs but a lot of filler, I still prefer Simple Minds ;-)
Not a patch on Here Comes the Warm Jets
By far the best of his albums on this list. Accidents will happen and Olivers Army being the standout tracks.
An album I've always meant to listen to over the years as Novocaine for the Soul is a decent song and now that I have, I doubt I'll listen to it again. It just faded into the background and got to the point where I forgot it was on :-/
Zzzzzzz!
Not my scene but Waterfalls is a classic tune.
Only ever heard Groove is in the Heart which is still a banger of a tune. As groovy as you would expect but a bit dated sounding now.
Never heard this before and it's not too bad. Does suffer from that annoying American alternative rock "whiney" vocal at times, but overall it's decent
Classic album, although not perfect it was very influential. Timeless Melody needs more radio airplay as its far superior to There She Goes
Incredibly underrated album. Up there with The Bends and OK Computer for me. Definitely checkout "From the basement" and "Scotch mist" on youtube
A band I never really got into. Bought this when it came out and I quite like the first half (up to Electricity) but the rest of it becomes a chore to listen to. I'd rather listen to Ride, Slowdive or newer stuff like Ringo Deathstarr and Blushing
It's alright
Don't know why Elvis Costello has so many albums on this list. Absolutely nothing interesting about this at all.
Always liked this album which many fans say is peak Simple Minds. The 3 singles are great, but for me the title track is still a banger and one I still listen to regularly.
This is not too bad, definitely ahead of it's time. Can hear early REM, Echo and the Bunnymen on the guitar work in particular.
Probably some of my favourite U2 songs on here but as usual plenty of filler. I'd give it 3.5/5 if I could.
Bought this at the time after hearing Writing to Reach You which is still a good song. 4 singles are still good but some of the album tracks are a bit dull near the end. Overall still a decent album.
An incredible album. In my top 2 of all time and possibly number 1. Been lucky enough to see Ride play this live in full a couple of times.
Not my bag, but I've heard worse, Uh!
No doubt the lassie can sing, but her songs are dull as dishwater and the least said about the awful cover of Long Song by The Cure the better.
I like Hounds of Love and Sensual World but didn't enjoy this one at all.
Always enjoyed this album since I heard my mate play it on the school bus back in 1987. Still got my cassette tape of it somewhere.
extra point for Holding Back the Years
Captain Beefheart & His Self Indulgent Wank Band
Musically this has some interesting moments, but oh my god, that vocal! Really can't stand that style of singing.
Nowhere near their best but hints of what the Foo Fighters would become in a few years time. For the reviewers slagging off Dave's vocals on this, he was very much still growing as a singer and a songwriter after stepping out from behind his drum kit. He also played all the instruments himself as he didn't have a band yet.
Don't mind the odd bit of thrash but could never really handle a full albums worth.
sigh! so dull!
some nice guitar work, but not my cup of tea overall
I love The Who (still one of the best bands I've ever seen live), but this concept album of fake commercials doesn't work for me. An extra point for I Can See For Miles which is still a banger of a tune.
Music for hipster w4nkers, dull as F!
A band I never really got into at the time, always preferred Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and Nirvana. First half of this is pretty strong though, but it does run out of steam after Sickman for me
Always found them a bit and miss and although there are some great songs on here, I find the "ditties" in the later half of the album annoying. Reminds me of The Who Sell Out in that regard.
Was never really a fan first time round, although they do have some decent songs over their catalogue. Squares and Human Being on this are good.
Better than I was expecting as most "60's psychedelic" stuff is just annoying noise. This would be better if it didn't have that annoying "wooboodooboodeebeedooboo" noise in the background of almost all the songs!
Some good covers here and some not so good, mainly because they are crap songs. Hurt is the obvious standout, but a few others are good as well. Personal Jesus is pretty good.
If you're going to have a Who rock opera on this list it needs to be Quadrophenia which is light years ahead of Tommy. I know this is a concept album, but there are really only 3 good songs: - Acid Queen, I'm Free and Pinball Wizard, which is still a belter. A poor album, a poor movie and an average stage show.
Sickly sweet 70s pop done well. Amazing voice but too sweet for me. Help cover is poor, but certainly not the worst Beatles cover I've ever heard. I'm looking at you Tina! Also, I prefer Deacon Blues version of "I'll Never Fall in Love Again".
Not a massive fan of this type of music, especially the vocals, but I do really like Original which has Toni Halliday vocals.
A couple of decent songs. This album is older than I thought, but Time to Pretend does feel like its been getting radio airplay for what seems like forever.
Typical Primal Scream album, has some really good moments but some that just become background. Always loved the title track though, Vanishing point, vanishing point, vanishing poiiiiiiinnnnnttttt!
Always found Billy corgans voice annoying but Cherub Rock is still a banger of a tune
only took about 30 seconds to hear the phrase "mutha f**ker" - turned it off.
bit too dull for me
Some good tracks on this, but always found it a bit too folky for my taste. Title track is still brilliant and A bang on the ear is good too. IMHO The Levellers took this style and did it much better as did The Wonder Stuff went they went a bit folky on Hup and Never Loved Elvis
Bought this when it came out. At the time, I liked a reasonable amount of it (Be In, Boys Better, Good Morning and the main singles in particular), but felt it was too long (drop the last 2 tracks for a start and save 15 minutes) and some tracks drag a bit. "Cool as Kim Deal" is pretty cool but is it as "Cool as Kim Deal"? It still sounds decent today. A solid 4/5 for me.
Starts off well, falls away in the middle and finishes with a couple of classics in Love Action and Don't You Want Me which is arguably the greatest ever synthpop song and still sounds great today.
Has some good moments and no denying it's influence on 80s synthpop
Never actually heard this album, but heard a couple of songs over the years. "Life's what you make it" is still a great song.
Was never a fan, but this is ok. Geno was and still is a great song though. Extra point for that alone :-)
pretty average 90s American singer songwriter fair. Nothing special about this at all.
Not a Pixies fan and not keen on this. I just don't like Frank Blacks voice.
This is ok in places, but it's too long and the vocals get a bit annoying
Haven't heard this for a long long LONG time. Decent, but not as good as "If I Should Fall...." or "Peace and Love" which came later.
never like these guys
Not my scene but Buffalo Stance and Manchild still hold up well.
self indulgent dross
The Byrds version of Mr. Tambourine Man is what ignited my love for jangly guitar music.
I've tried so may times over the years to like this album, but I must be the only shoegazer who doesn't like MBV! Only Shallow and Soon are brilliant but the rest is just noise and as much as I like a bit of fuzz, there is a lack of any kind of melody.
Some great tracks on here. U2 before they became all w4nky
start off decent, but drops off about halfway through for me, but better than I was expecting as I've only ever really liked a handful of QOTSA songs
Why is almost all American Psychedelia so bad?
dull as F and American Pie is an awful song.
Not my favourite Cult album, but still some crackers on here
Not sure why there are so many PJ Harvey albums on here, but this is better than the others i've heard.
One of the most important and influential albums in history.
Not keen on this. Not a patch on Moon Safari
starts off quite interesting, but gets a bit boring later on
Brilliant when it came out and still brilliant now.
Classic album which although not perfect as Nico's vocal wastes a couple of songs, it still has some great moments. REM do a good cover of Pale Blue Eyes and Femme Fatale which is better than the original thanks to Stipes vocals.
Trip hop was never my bag, but this is ok. Always liked Protection.
A grunge band that passed me by in the 90s, it's ok but not Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots or Nirvana level.
Not my cuppa tea
Album tracks were better than I was expecting and the singles are still great, especially Get It On.
Only band duller than Steely Dan zzzzzzz
Not my scene and started off ok, but just got annoying after a while
I like that, turn it up.
Classic album and arguably their best.
Remembered Cult of Personality from back in the day, but the rest is still pretty decent
Title track is decent, but way too long. The remainder sounds like it should be on the Moonlighting soundtrack.
started off ok with the first couple of songs but then just became a drag of standard country dirge.
musically it's ok, but not keen on the vocals.
She has a nice voice, but there is nothing here that suggests it should be anywhere near a list like this.
It's not bad. I've always preferred The Smiths to Morrisseys solo stuff, mainly because of Marrs guitar riffs
Really can't be arsed with music like this. She has a nice smooth voice, but musically it's so boring! Background music for some dull as dishwater American sitcom
I like the music I like the lyrics But I can only listen in bursts cos Mark E Smith Kinds wish someone would form a Fall cover band but with proper singing.
808 state were one of those dance bands I didn't mind back in the day (along with Utah Saints). Like most of their stuff this is a bit hit and miss. Some decent tunes and some that are a bit too repetitive for me. Pacific is still a cracker of a tune though. I might still have the single somewhere.
Singles are still great and the rest of the album is decent.
pffff! Dull.
only ever heard their 2 big singles "Temptation" and "Come Live with Me" which were decent at the time, but this is nowhere near as good as other synth pop acts that were around at the time. Human League and Depeche Mode to name a couple
There is no doubt Mariah has a great voice, but I can't be arsed with the constant vocal gymnastics.
Class
A nod to how the sound would evolve in later years. Not my favourite Queen album, but still pretty good.
Its not bad. The main 2 hits are great but the album tracks are fairly average at best. never found the Stones to have the depth of material that The Beatles had.
s'alright. Decent covers of classic blues songs.
Great when it came out and great now.
pretty funky
I don't mind Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots, but The Flaming Lips are a band I've never gotten into. Apart from Race for the Prize (which I've heard before) this is pretty dull.
Like The Byrds as a band but never been a fan of their solo stuff, too country for my liking, but this is not too bad. Nothing outstanding on it, but some nice guitar work on some of the songs.
One of the easiest 5's on this list. Not just one of the greatest albums of the 80s, but one of the best of all time.
Sone great songs on here, Drive, Try not to Breathe Sweetness Follows and Find the River are my favourites. As much as I love this album, it doesn't make it into my top 5 REM albums.
Brilliant when it came out, unfortunately they never got anywhere near this level since.
Been a fan of this since 93 and as much as I like it, I find it is 3 or 4 tracks too long. Remove Spun Around (it's always annoyed me!) and make Lazarus the last song and its a 5/5
Its not bad. A good precursor to what was coming in Seattle
Album that changed my musical direction. In autumn 89 I was still listening to Deacon Blue and Hue and Cry and when I heard this it was The Stone Roses and REM. An album that still sounds fresh and you can listen to no matter what mood you are in.
A band I've never really gotten into. I don't mind them and have some good songs, but nothing outstanding.
some classic 70s Elton songs on here, but a double album is just way too long
Cant really be bothered with Livin' on a Prayer these days just because I've heard it so many times, but there are still some cracking tracks on this.
A few great songs but I've always found this to be very overrated. Gets compared to Revolver by The Beatles but not in the same league for me
Can't be arsed with Rod at all.
The singles are exceptional
A few cracking tunes on this but overall not a great album. However there are signs of the better things that would come. Still a cracking live band even in 2024 when I saw them.
Not as good as other Pet Shop Boys albums. Not sure why its on this list as its nothing special or ground breaking
