I knew who Janelle Monet was, but never listened to her before. Pleasantly surprised by the album, not to R and B, not to funky, just fun to listen to.

All the songs sound the same.
Not as heavy as I thought it would be. Musically sound. Great lyrics.
As a middle aged white suburban dad, I felt a little uncomfortable listening to this. I tend to lean towards heavier punk music. Having said that, powerful lyrics and great rhythm. I found myself nodding my head and tapping my feet to it as I sat on the train and walked to work.
One of my favorite albums. Great vocals with Young. Great songwriting. Woodstock is a classic. Teach your children is a great sing a long in the car.
Listened to it because it was on the list. Gave it a second listen just to be sure I wasn’t distracted the first time around. Boring and repetitive. I am not particularly drawn to this type of music, but I can appreciate it if it’s good. This is not.
Started a little slow, but the more I listened the more I liked it. Songs would have been better with a little more tempo and a heavier sound, but overall not bad. I added two songs to my “liked” playlist on Spotify- My Beloved Monster and Susan’s House.
Great album that was a joy to revisit. Was a regular featured cassette in my 1984 Dodge Omni. Hot For Teacher is a top 100 song for me.
That was a thing I listened to. It was ok, gave it one listen but wasn’t really my thing.
I recognize the talent of the three of them, but this is not the music for me. The harmonies sounded great, but the style just didn’t do it for me.
Surprisingly heavy for when it came out, but very unpolished. Almost like they discovered a new sound and recorded quickly before they lost it. This sound is in my wheelhouse so it was nice to discover something that seemingly is an original. Dirt is a great track, as is LA Blues.
I knew who Janelle Monet was, but never listened to her before. Pleasantly surprised by the album, not to R and B, not to funky, just fun to listen to.
Old fashioned 70s rock! Besides the obvious hits, Uncle Salty and Big Ten Inch Record don’t disappoint. You can tell by these songs they were still a little rough around the edges, but then you hit Sweet Emotion and you remember why they are legends. I like the roller coaster in Disney to.

I try and give all the albums I get at least one full listen through. I could not do that with this one. It was to whiny and thin. One additional star was given for decent lyrics, but they were in terrible arrangements.
Have loved the title track for a long time. The slower version of Mend a Broken Heart was also great. Wish there was some up tempo tracks but it’s a good album.
As close to a perfect album as you can get. I miss the concept albums that tell a story throughout. Besides the obvious hits, It Ain’t Easy and Moonage Daydream are fantastic. Bowie was so far ahead of what anyone else was doing and it holds up all these years later.
Great debut album I’ve liked for a long time. Came out at the right time in my life when this type of music was in heavy rotation on my 5 disc CD changer. Had a copy in my giant car CD binder.
I like singer songwriters, but this one made me want to drive my car off a bridge it was so depressing. Great storytelling and music, but he was clearly on downers when he wrote and recorded this.
A little whiny with a little to much overlapping sounds.
I like David Byrne, but this was a little too esoteric for me. Did not enjoy. Two stars just because of his influence.
Just the right amount of weird and funk.
The title of track two is my whole review.
