2/5. La Grange is great. I didn't care much for LA Grange pts 2 through 13.

The Verve
4/5
Very 90s Brit Rock. Bitter Sweet Symphony is definitely the best song on the album. The rest is good, but not memorable. 4/5
Beatles
5/5
Iconic. Back in the USSR, Revolution 1, Helter Skelter, While my guitar gentley weeps. Some odd songs in between. Album is a little bloated. 5/5
JAY Z
3/5
Its okay. Not that many memorable songs. I mean it is a landmark album for the genre, but I was not into it. 3/5.
The Doors
5/5
Break on through, light my fire, the end. Enough said. 5/5
3/5
It was okay. Not the best work the kinks have done. Victoria was the high point. 3/5
Herbie Hancock
4/5
Jazzy jazz. Felt very modern for its age. 4/5
The Offspring
3/5
Self esteem, come out and play, and gotta get away are classics. However, there is not a lot of song variety past that. Much of the album sounds the same. The offspring are better as a greatest hits album. 3/5
Led Zeppelin
5/5
5/5. Masterpiece. Not a wasted song on the album.
Neil Young
1/5
I really don't care for his voice. Actually I did not care for the album at all. 1/5
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
2/5
Reminds me of Springsteen and someone else that I can't put my finger on. No song stood out for my. It isn't bad, but it did not do anything for me. Most of the songs feel like they were written for some poignant moment on a show. 2/5
Deep Purple
4/5
He hit the high notes in Child of time O.o. Great live album. Would be better if they could've fit a few more different songs. Speed King x2 and Black Night x3 was a little rough. 4/5
PJ Harvey
2/5
It sounds like a very average 90s rock album. Distorted guitar ✅️
Angry/introspective lyrics ✅️
Basic song composition ✅️
Nothing stood out on the album. 2/5
Ms. Dynamite
2/5
Meh. Generic R&B. Not sure why it made the cut. 2/5
3/5
The songs with Thom York were the best. 3/5
Iron Maiden
4/5
Second half of the album is much stronger than the first. Number of the Best, Run to the Hills, and Hallowed be thy Name are all classic Maiden. 4/5
Kanye West
2/5
His earlier stuff is better. Black Skinhead was the only song I'd listen to again. Too many songs were about how great he is. Ugh. 2/5
Rocket From The Crypt
2/5
There are a lot of good hardcore punk albums out there. While this one isn't bad, it wasn't notable in any way. All of the songs meld together. 2/5
Television
3/5
It's okay.
3/5
5/5
I'm not a big U2 fan, but this album is incredible. One of the best side A's I've ever heard. 5/5
Aerosmith
3/5
Aerosmith has always been more of a singles band than an album band for me. Toys in the Attic reaffirms this idea. Sweet Emotion and Walk this Way are classics. Most of the rest is forgettable. 3/5
Van Morrison
5/5
I really liked this album. Would definitely listen to again. Moondance is the highlight of the record. 5/5
Gary Numan
1/5
Cars is a bona-fide hit. The rest is terrible. It all sounded the same. It almost feels like he only wrote 1 song. 1/5
Iron Maiden
3/5
Not their best work. Running Free and Phantom are the best songs. Solid for its time. 3/5
Fela Kuti
5/5
Great album. Ginger Baker goes off. 5/5
Willie Nelson
1/5
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. Felt like a run of the mill Willie album. 2/5
Update: this is a covers album? That knocks it down to a 1/5
Mott The Hoople
3/5
It's a good record that got outshined by all of the other great records of the time. 3/5
Genesis
4/5
Gabriel Genesis is much odder and proggier than post Gabriel Genesis. This album is really good, just not as good as the highs they reach later in their career. 4/5
Ian Dury
1/5
This is terrible. Is it satire? It would make more sense if it was. But I looked the artist up, and not only is it not, the singer was in their 30s when they wrote this junk! 1/5
Nick Drake
5/5
Loved it. A little too short. It clocks in at under 30 minutes. Great early modern folk. 5/5
Bob Dylan
3/5
I'm sure it's better if I gave it a closer listen and payed closer attention to the lyrics. Ultimately it sounds like every other Bob Dylan album I've heard. 3/5
Leonard Cohen
3/5
The raincoat song was really good. This album is good for a rainy day and a sad mood. Musically it was bare and uninteresting. 3/5
Burning Spear
2/5
Hey maan, remember that bad thing maan? Yeah man, preach. 2/5
David Bowie
1/5
Was this album titled low because it was the lowest part of Bowies career? Cause I like Bowie, and this ain't it. 1/5.
Fiona Apple
4/5
This album was pretty good. Fiona Apple has surprising range. 4/5.
Little Simz
2/5
2/5. Really not into the album at all. Thankfully it was short. It gets a bonus point for being a rap/hip-hop album with actual instruments.
Big Black
1/5
Was this recorded on a microwave? It was absolutely terrible. There are countless examples of hard-core punk from that time period that are much, much better than this headache of an album. I'd give it 0/5 if I could.
ABBA
3/5
Dancing Queen is a classic. The album is very good, but it didn't do much for me. 3/5.
Can
3/5
Background music at best. And I love prog rock. 3/5
Run-D.M.C.
4/5
There are some absolute classic songs on this album. In many ways this was one of the moments that paved the way for raps dominance. That said, this album has not aged well. Many of the songs that broke ground don't really sound that good anymore. Walk this way is still a bop. 4/5
Frank Zappa
3/5
Probably the least weird Zappa album I've listened to. Some really odd instruments, some moments where I wondered if they were in tune, and some moments that I completely forgot to pay attention. I'll give it a 3/5
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
1/5
Maybe there was a good album here with a different singer, but I cannot stand Neil's voice. It is terrible, especially with this fake-grunge sound that he was going for. I almost turned it off. The music was uninspired and not noteworthy. 1/5.
Robert Wyatt
2/5
Pretentious comes to mind when listening to Robert Wyatt sing(?) out of tune. I'm not sure if he is even capable of finding the tune, let alone be in it. The first track gave me some hope of a good album, but that hope quickly faded. 2/5 only because I enjoyed the sheep song.
Sly & The Family Stone
3/5
No feelings either way. Nothing really stood out, nor was anything particularly bad. 3/5
Snoop Dogg
2/5
Watch out, we have a badass here. O_O. The more I listen to rap, the more I am convinced that there is no such thing as a good rap album. Gin & Juice is good. The rest was tiresome. Dude leans too hard into his name, cussing and treating women as objects. 2/5.
Janis Joplin
3/5
It's a good album. I never got all of the hubbub about her voice. Some really good songs and some filler. 3/5
Bob Marley & The Wailers
4/5
This is probably the peak of classic reggae for me. Bob Marley's best work and catchiest tunes. We be jammin! 4/5.
Kendrick Lamar
4/5
Its refreshing to hear a rap album with real instruments, unique song structure, and a message that isn't just sex or gang stuff. That said, he uses the n word way too much. It makes sense in some of the tracks, but not every third line. 4/5.
The Kinks
3/5
This isn't the Kinks best work. It is perfectly serviceable, but not a single sing stuck out. It all sounded so generically Kinks. 3/5.
Gorillaz
4/5
Great album. Groundbreaking when it came out. Feel Good Inc and Clint Eastwood are clear standouts. 4/5 only because Demon Days is that much better
Arcade Fire
5/5
5/5. An almost perfect album. This is one of my favorite records of all time.
A Tribe Called Quest
4/5
I liked Scenario. It was a good rap album for the era. 4/5
Coldplay
4/5
It is a good rainy day album. Kinda slow, kinda reflective. Not my favorite Coldplay record. 4/5...really 3.5/5, but rounding.
Stan Getz
3/5
It is a good rainy day album. Kinda slow, kinda reflective. Not my favorite Coldplay record. 4/5...really 3.5/5, but rounding.
Marvin Gaye
2/5
Utterly forgettable. I tried very hard to closely listen to this, and my attention just slide away every time. The songs sound very much the same. I'm sure a lot people like it. It is a very comfortable sound. Not for me though. 2/5.
Goldfrapp
2/5
Meh. Dreamy listless and forgettable. 2/5
50 Cent
1/5
1/5. Gangster rap really has not aged well. It's ultimately a collection of songs talking about how tough/cool/great he is.
Adele
4/5
4/5. Good album, better than I expected for something so popular.
Kanye West
3/5
I liked Power and Monster. The rest was okay. Kanye's earlier stuff is better. 3/5
Japan
1/5
1/5 What a boring forgettable album.
The Charlatans
2/5
2/5 Pretty standard brit pop from the 90s.
Queen Latifah
2/5
2/5. I feel like this era of hip-hop is not aging well. The album was repetitive and not musically interesting.
Peter Gabriel
3/5
3/5. A few really good songs. The stuff in between was forgettable. Very 80s.
Jeff Buckley
4/5
4/5. Great album. All I knew about Jeff Buckley was Hallelujah, so this album was a pleasant surprise.
Jurassic 5
1/5
1/5 this album came out 20 years too late.
Adele
4/5
4/5. Am I becoming an Adele fan? There are some great songs on this record. Fantastic singer. The music can be a little boring and plain, but her voice and lyrics make up for it.
Missy Elliott
2/5
2/5. Should have edited out the talking bits. It cheapens the album. By a lot.
Solomon Burke
3/5
3/5. The album felt like it was out of the 50s. The opening track was the strongest, and it got weaker from there.
The Police
5/5
5/5. Great album. I'll listen to it whenever. King of pain was my jam for a while.
Dead Kennedys
3/5
3/5 California Uber Alles and Holiday in Cambodia are both great examples of hard-core punk. The rest of the album is not as great.
Todd Rundgren
3/5
3/5. It was alright. Too long by half. There was not enough song variety to justify the runtime.
Lou Reed
4/5
4/5. Not quite a 5* album, but close. Lou Reed paved the way for alt and indie rock. Walk on the wild side is still excellent.
Pink Floyd
5/5
5/5. Not much can be said about this album that hasn't already been said.
Paul Simon
2/5
2/5. Folk lives and dies by the stories the artist is trying to tell. Outside Me and Julio the stories just weren't doing it for me.
Big Brother & The Holding Company
3/5
Lot of energy. Piece of my heart is always amazing. I don't always care for Janis' voice. She has a lot of volume, but not a lot of range. 3/5
Portishead
4/5
Bee Gees
2/5
2/5. It's okay I guess. I won't listen to it again though.
Blur
2/5
2/5 Brit-pop blur is my least favorite version of Blur.
The Rolling Stones
4/5
4/5. Great album. The hits are timeless. It's the stuff in between the hits that drag it down a bit.
George Harrison
4/5
4/5 this is honestly better than a lot of his albums with the beatles.
Drive Like Jehu
3/5
3/5. Passable hard-core punk. Production was good. The tracks were a mixed bag.
Tricky
2/5
2/5 meh.
Arctic Monkeys
4/5
4.5/5. An amazing start to one of the more dynamic rock bands of the 2000s-2010s. They are a little rough around the edges, but songs like Mardy Bum and I bet you look good on the dance floor are fantastic.
Aretha Franklin
3/5
3/5.
Les Rythmes Digitales
2/5
Frank Ocean
2/5
2/5 serviceable R&B.
Bruce Springsteen
3/5
3/5. I liked Born in the USA. The rest was forgettable.
Jerry Lee Lewis
3/5
3/5. I respect the importance of Jerry Lee Lewis. He brought rock to the world. This live album was not the way to showcase him. It was really short, his singing was all over the place, and the recording quality was okay at best.
The Who
5/5
5 stars. No notes.
Ice Cube
1/5
1/5. Oooo nooo! Watch out! He's such a badass. 😱😱 Really though I have such a hard time taking gangsta rap seriously.
The Byrds
3/5
Simon & Garfunkel
4/5
4/5. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.
Fela Kuti
3/5
Duran Duran
3/5
3/5. I love Rio and Hungry like the wolf. The rest of the album did not stand out for me.
Led Zeppelin
4/5
Van Halen
3/5
3/5. They are undoubtedly skilled musicians, but this entire album screams 80s bro in the worst way. Hot for Teacher was my highlight.
Creedence Clearwater Revival
3/5
3/5. Love bad moon rising.
The Go-Go's
2/5
2/5. A whole album of songs that sounds like we got the beat is too much for me.
Big Star
2/5
2/5 We have Led Zeppelin at home
Bruce Springsteen
3/5
3/5.
The Jam
2/5
2/5. It's like watered down The Clash
The Doors
3/5
3/5. Love roadhouse blues. The rest is okay.
David Bowie
3/5
3/5. Golden years was the standout song. Felt pretty run of the mill for Bowie.
The Strokes
4/5
4/5. Fun album. Teen me loved this album.
Ananda Shankar
1/5
1/5 Why, of all of the music from India, was this album included? Bad sitar covers of popular songs does not make one of the albums you should hear before you die.
N.W.A.
2/5
2/5. There are a few great songs here, but the style has not aged well.
Bob Dylan
4/5
4/5
Talking Heads
3/5
3/5. Liked Take me to the river. The rest felt like background music.
The Damned
2/5
2/5. It was music. Some okay, most not. A poor example of punk tbh
Love
2/5
2/5. Meh
Michael Jackson
4/5
4/5. First half was definitely stronger than the second half.
Dolly Parton
3/5
3/5. Way too short to get any higher of a score. Pretty standard early 70s country.
5/5
5/5 Love it. Whole album is great. Knights is such an amazing stadium song.
Fairport Convention
3/5
3/5 it was okay. Nothing really stood out.
Hookworms
2/5
2/5. I'm not sure why this album was included. Nothing about it was unique or interesting, nor did it have any impact on the music scene.
Blur
3/5
3/5. I love song 2, and a lot of the rest is great. However, it feels like the record has a lot of filler.
Sarah Vaughan
4/5
4/5. I enjoyed this record. The sound quality was surprisingly good for the era.
Jimi Hendrix
4/5
4/5. Hendrix is great. This is probably my second favorite album of his.
Siouxsie And The Banshees
3/5
3/5. I liked what I heard, but the whole album wasn't on Spotify.
Fatboy Slim
2/5
1.5/5. It was too long, and most of it sounded the same.
Derek & The Dominos
3/5
Marvin Gaye
3/5
3/5. Good album, but it was not a good day for me to hear it.
Joni Mitchell
3/5
Fairport Convention
2/5
2/5. Not my cup of tea. Feels like I'd hear this at ren fair.
The Shamen
1/5
1/5. They all sound the same.
AC/DC
3/5
3/5. Some landmark hits that still have frequent radio play. I'm not a big fan though. The rhythm section might as well not exist, and I don't care for the singers voice.
Pixies
2/5
2/5. I like the pixies, but this is not it.
Ryan Adams
3/5
3/5. A few great songs. A lot in-between.
The Boo Radleys
2/5
Wow another mediocre brit pop band from the 90s. 2/5
Genesis
2/5
2/5. Peter Gabriel Genesis is not my Genesis. #notmygenesis
Paul Simon
3/5
3/5 It had its moments. Why did so many groups do an African music thing in the 80s?
Fatboy Slim
2/5
2/5. How in the world does Fatboy Slim have 2 albums on this list?
The Cure
3/5
3/5. Pretty average. It didn't do anything good or bad enough to gain or lose any points. *shrugs*

4/5
Eric Clapton
3/5
Bob Dylan
4/5
Norah Jones
3/5

Thin Lizzy
3/5
The War On Drugs
2/5
2/5. I think it needed more atmosphere.
Tom Waits
1/5
1/5. Maybe it would be higher if I could understand what he was saying (singing?).
Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
1/5
1/5. I sometimes think the curator of this list is trolling.
Ryan Adams
2/5
2/5. Perfectly boring and unoriginal. Too long by half.

4/5. I'm not sure what just happened, but I'm pretty sure Mr. Gainsbourg just seduced me.
Bert Jansch

Beck
4/5
Jane's Addiction
3/5

Deep Purple
5/5
SPACE TRUCKING YEAH YEAH YEAH

4/5
4 stars. Great album. Too short for 5 stars.
Talk Talk
2/5
2. Boring neo new wave.
Lambchop
1/5
1/5. It's like if elevator music made love to a self important poet.
ZZ Top
2/5
2/5. La Grange is great. I didn't care much for LA Grange pts 2 through 13.

4/5 Not Yes' best album, but it still has Starship Trooper and I've seen all good people.
Led Zeppelin
4/5
Black Sabbath

Auto 4 just for Stan and The Way I Am. The rest is angrier than I remember. Unfortunately the album did not age as well as the hits did. You had to be alive at the time of recording to get most of the references. Because of those two things, it is getting a 3/5.
