Queen
2/5
I’ve always been a tounge in cheek Aueen hater, but this album didn’t do much to change that. The 2 famous songs are great, BH might be one of the best songs ever, but I don’t really love the rest of it, which is a common theme for a lot of Queen I’ve found. Controversial 2

Led Zeppelin
5/5
This record is so long and unwieldy that’s I’ve never been able to sink into it as much as some other zeppelin, so I’m glad I got this chance to really sit with this. It really is flawless and while it doesn’t have quite the same peaks as other zeppelin (at least to me in this moment) it’s an amazing listen. 5

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

Pretty heavy, I like it but I feel like I need to live a full life with more heartbreak and loss and then I’ll see this as the masterpiece it is

Didn’t finish, it was good but eventually it just became Metallica which got old
The Who

Doesn’t add anything to the who cannon imo
Lou Reed

Classic
Elbow
3/5
Some good songs, some bad ones
Machito

Kinda good vibes but not really my jam. Wish it was more jazzy and free form as opposed to the short bops

LL Cool J
3/5
Honestly some very cool production on this. Would probably be more likely to bump the instrumentals than with LL, no offense big dog.
Funkadelic
4/5
Some reallly good tracks, a little filler. Not perfect but iconic for sure
Fela Kuti
5/5
Really good
Guided By Voices
2/5
Not bad but not my fav, probably deserves more listens and time
Tracy Chapman
4/5
This is hard to rate. On the one hand, this has some incredible highs. Her song writing and singing ability is insane and is super talented obviously, could be a 5. I also do think that some of it can feel a little dated and 80s especially the production of it. I’ll go with a 4
AC/DC
3/5
Good album with some good songs, but this band is too iconic to age well if that makes sense. Still some good ones but not rotation stuff. 3
The Strokes
4/5
Dare I say a 5? I grew up with Someday from mlb2k8, the other famous song is of course famous, but the rest was pretty new. While it all had a similar tone, it was varied enough to not bore me and make me wanna listen more. This may be in rotation
3/5
If I ever wanted to listen to something like this I would put this on, but not really rotation stuff at this point in my life. I’ll give it a 3 out of respect
Oasis
2/5
Meh, maybe it needs another listen tho
Buddy Holly & The Crickets
3/5
Obviously not shit I would play a lot, but this is the prototype for the VU, which is the prototype for everything after it, you can’t deny the importance. 3 for respect.
Portishead
5/5
This is why we do this. So good. 5
Radiohead
5/5
Classic!!! 5 for sure.
Germs
4/5
Not typically my genre but I like it. Would listen more if it was on Spotify. Cool to hear young Pat smear, 3 for respect. Actually 4 it’s fire
5/5
Hot take…. I don’t love every song on this! Sorry hang on to yourself! Still a 5 tho the highs are too high and just a classic.
George Michael
2/5
Before I even start…..I see a “they won’t go when I go” cover……GEORGE……tread lightly my friend……this could be bad.
lmao this cover is shameful. If this was the original version i would be amazed, but dude is role playing as steveland and hes not as good.
Ok... honestly, it wasn't all that bad. Its not my genre really, but there were good songs on it. If it was the only cd in the car I wouldn't be that upset. Its interesting getting this right after U2. This probably had more fun up beat hits like Freedom, but I think if I was alive back then I would for sure buy the U2 album before this one. Ill give this one a 2 because I cant give everything a 3, but this is a loving 2, it is competing aagainst the best after all.
Iron Maiden
2/5
It’s aight, but i just don’t love 80s metal like that. If I wanted something prog there are things that do it better, if I wanted something really hard, i much preferred the germs record I just got a couple days ago.
2 since we can’t be Mr nice guy
Stevie Wonder
5/5
Obvious 5 duhhhh. Could go on an on about my number 1 album of all time on Spotify but wont
Black Sabbath
3/5
Changes is so good
That kinda shows where my music taste is at rn.
Still better than AC/DC I think
Actually way better
Insanely solid 3 here
White Denim
4/5
You can hear the dead influences but as a dead hater I like how they incorporate it.
Honestly probably a 4? Really good
Johnny Cash
3/5
So great to listen to in full, the way he interacts with the crowd is great. I don’t think any song particularly will stick with me too much, but great album in totality. 3
ZZ Top
3/5
Really good 3, way better than I thought it would be. Can see this becoming a 4.
Roxy Music
4/5
Excited to listen to this…
The album cover didn’t disappoint. Played this shit back twice. 4 but could be a future 5 well see
ABBA
2/5
Hard for me to view objectively. If I had never heard of abba I would probably really like this, but I feel like I don’t need any more abba songs in my life
Ok I was hating there are some good songs on this. This is kinda cool that abba made less poppy music, I don’t know if that’s their best arena tho. Respect tho, and per my rating system anything above a 1 is respect, so this gets a 2
The Offspring
1/5
I think our first 1 is on the way……
I don’t take this lightly: I don’t like the offspring. This is the first album I truly dislike, if this cd was in a car I’d rather listen to the Dua Lipa on the radio or whatever…. Sorry boys :(
Like there are some fine songs whatever but we desperately need casablancas to save us from this mid/greenday music 😭
Einstürzende Neubauten
1/5
Let’s just listen to Metal Machine Music my guy….
Creedence Clearwater Revival
3/5
After the last two albums this is like the abbey road medley.
This may be the ideal 3. It has some amazing classics, and some decent songs.
Ray Charles
2/5
I truly don’t think this is the best ray has to offer us. He role played as Sinatra. Honestly, he’s an incredible crooner, his voice is amazing, that’s why this is a 2, but I feel like I expected something more. Hopefully we get another ray album.
Elvis Costello & The Attractions
3/5
I think I’ve listened, I’m excited.
Ehh slightly dissapointed. I know and like a bunch of the songs, but I don’t think this album was some crazy experience. Could be a 4 maybe if I was in the right mood, I’m calling it a 3
Siouxsie And The Banshees
4/5
Never heard of this band…
Was gonna say this had a Roxy music influence vibe and I see they met at a roxy music concert lol
This is so good I find it hard to believe I haven’t heard of these cats. Either a 4 or a 5 second listen will tell. Amazing either way
Literally on the border but we’re gonna say 4 cuz of Hong Kong Garden
Jane's Addiction
3/5
How can I not compare this to susie and the banshees that I just got?
I think these bands and albums are similar. They are trying to be punk rock, of course one was a pioneer of the genre, and one comes 10 years later. This may just be my mood at this point in my life, but susies vocals are just so seductive and intriguing, these dudes are just whiny and annoying to me. I honestly just can’t stand this whiny, high pitched singing that these 90s bands were obsessed with!!! Please, cobain come and save rock!!!
I hate rating an album poorly because I simply hate the singing, but if we swap out the vocal track on every song, this could conceivably rate highly. Sadly, I just don’t want to listen to this. 1 :(
I like three days
Then she did… is kinda beatly but with their own spin? Is side 2 way better???
Damn I guess I was a hater? Upon a relisten I like it more. This is not a 1. In no way. Either a 2 or a 3.
Hugh Masekela
3/5
This is not a genre I go to much, but unlike some of the other genres I hate on, this one actually sounds good. I will just rarely pop on Home is where the music is. If I wanted jazz trumpet for sure, but I never really crave that. 3 out of respect
Screaming Trees
4/5
Liking this so far.
This is quality. Idk if I’d call it super influential or worth of being in the list, but it doesn’t make me wanna rip my ears out like offspring, it makes me wanna run this back. If this was in the cd deck I wouldn’t be upset.
I see people saying this isn’t anything new in the “Washington sound” but I’m not super familiar with that aside from like nirvana and Pearl Jam (?) but fwiw I like this lol. Maybe just an indication I should check out this style more. Either a 3 or 4.
I’ll prolly look back and regret this but this is a 4, I like it!
Sly & The Family Stone
4/5
I love sly. A pretty easy 4.
Cheap Trick
2/5
High expectations for some reason
Meh honestly probably deserves a 2 but I want to give it a 3. It’s good but just kinda just exactly 70s classic rock, which I like but this stuff is no revelation.
I don’t know how much I’ll come back to other than
Surrender surender
Bob Marley & The Wailers
5/5
This is pretty fire ngl
Amazing. Either 4 or a 5 pretty easily
Fuck it 5. We may be due for a recalibration due to some high scores recently but this is better than the 4s I just got.
Of course a lot of these songs are overplayed to an insane degree, but if we’re objective it’s because they are great.
When 3 birds is probably the worst song u know you cooked
10cc
3/5
10cc goats
HOLY FUCK DILAAAAAAAAAA SAMPLEEEEEEE IN THE WILDDDDD WOWOWOWIWOWOW
I want to give this a 3 to recalibrate the ratings but this wants to be a 4....
What can we compare this to? Roxy music? Cheap Trick? The Cheap Trick one is easy, this clears. This seems to go further than the roxy record, not sure which I prefer.... roxy with a twist of gentle giant?
Ehh I just relistened to the Elvis costello and I liked it more lol so I guess this is a 3
The Allman Brothers Band
3/5
Should be good
How the ever living fuck is this on the list but eat a peach isn’t? Listened to both today, eat a peach is a master piece and I might consider giving it a five, this is also cool but for some reason I’ve always found it hard to really get into any legendary live albums, I like the refined sound of a a studio more I guess. This is good jam music, probably better than the dead, but I don’t find this stuff super weighty. It’s fucking great but I still think it’s a 3 based on the criterion I’m still developing. Sorry Duane :(
The Who
4/5
Yay classic for me on a big day in my life
Honestly for the sake of my ratings, this is an auto 5. It’s been a big part of my life already, I can’t be objective.
This might be a crazy take but this isn’t the best Who. I think Timmy and wudrophenia are better? I’ll give this a 4 😱
Behind blue eyes is the best song on this
album and is goated also btw
This is comfortably my 4th most listened to who album which makes me feel better about this rating
Creedence Clearwater Revival
4/5
I feel like this and who’s next are right there together. 4? Who will stop the rain best song
Spiritualized
3/5
I can see why someone wouldn’t like this and am not at all surprised by the poor ratings, but I really like this. 4 nah 3 I like it tho
Alice In Chains
3/5
Interested to see what ibthink
I’m in a weird spot where screaming trees made me want to listen to more stuff like this but I’m not sure how much I actually love this. It’s kinda cool ngl but i might need time with this guy

I like it but I like other Zappa more. Solid 3
DJ Shadow
2/5
Good lo fi stufy music? I don’t like as much as nujabees or dilla I think
The possibly maybe sample is annoying, worse than the actual song. Tbh this isn’t rly my thing. Actually this is good I think I like people who were influenced by it more
Curtis Mayfield
3/5
Very different from what I think of Curtis typically but these are some really good songs
I love this.4 this could probably pass as a 5 but I’m gonna say 4
Terence Trent D'Arby
3/5
In the cross section of music that sounds so 80s but is also good
If I ever throw a 80s party I have some good songs for it.
Queen
2/5
I’ve always been a tounge in cheek Aueen hater, but this album didn’t do much to change that. The 2 famous songs are great, BH might be one of the best songs ever, but I don’t really love the rest of it, which is a common theme for a lot of Queen I’ve found. Controversial 2

Cardinal sin: never do a Marvin Gaye interpolation. Similar to the Adele but probably better so I say 4. Don’t rly think it’s a top 10 all time album @apple
While I think this sounds good, the failed Marvin/hitsville interpolation demonstrates some of my issues with this record. Did this song sound better than the original? No. Did it do anything to push the boundaries of this kind of music in anyway? I don’t think so. It’s good for an early 2000s pop record, but if we actually want to put it up against some classic mowtown and soul music this falls short. Perhaps I need to listen to this when I’m sadder or get broken up with, but after listening I put on some Marvin Gaye, and it’s significantly better. I guess I’m just arguing against apple and some rediculous straw man , but whatever
