It’s the Beatles
ok
Listening to The Beatles is developmentally appropriate for highschoolers who think listening to “old music“ will make them more interesting. That being said revolver is one of the more palatable albums by The Beatles.
I'm not really a beatles guy...5.4/10.
You can't make me listen to the Beatles again I refuse. This album was far better than the other one but all the songs were just average other than Eleanor rigby. Still one song doesn't redeem it.
YELLOW SUBMARINE! That song proves my point that Ringo is the best Beatle. It, for me is the only good actual Beatles tune, redeeming them in my eyes. Remember While my Guitar Gently Weeps is Clapton on guitar so it's not a full Beatles song and can't really count for them. So this album is a turning point for the beatles, so I have been told. I don't quite get it but I'm not a fan. The lyrics are kinda lame and the music is just alright. I'm not sure why this album is a high point. It's alright but like most of their stuff it misses me.
Didn't struck me, no coherence in the album
I never liked the Beatles; their lyrics and all that strange instrumental aura irritated me. I understand their contribution to music, but apart from a few songs, there was too much acid and ego in it, rather than true soul and music
good stuff is good, others not so much...
A few hits, but mostly songs I didn't know
I always feel like I'm missing something with the Beatles - maybe they'll click for me one day. Couple of classics on here but other than that not much of interest. And I know stereo sound was very exciting at the time, but some of the hard panning out of the gate made me feel sick.
To be honest this album wasn’t as awful as I anticipated. I’ve never been a fan of the Beatles and don’t really understand the appeal. Not my cup of tea but there are a few hidden gems in this one.
I see why this was influential. I can hear a lot of later music in this. I like Eleanor Rigby but other than that this album really grinds my gears. The Beatles get on my nerve.
Not for me
Eleanor Rigby is great. The rest of this is not for me.
It was decent i guess
OK. 2/5
I am not a huge Beatles fan, so this felt very meh for me.
2/10 . Not something I’d listen to again. Fav song is Here, There and Everywhere.
eleanor rigby is arguably the only good mccartney song but I'm open to also including carry that weight the rest of the songs range from unlistenable (yellow submarine) to kind of forgettable (almost everything else)
I’ll take Eleanor Rigby and And Your Bird Can Sing, you can have the rest.
Not even in my top Beatles albums
The genre of this is "The Beatles". Eleanor Rigby is an all timer. Theres so much variation on this i feel like id need to start a thesis to get it all. Remembering this is 1966 makes it even more impressive.
Just not a huge Beatles fan in general so the deep cuts are even harder to listen to for me. Overall: 2.2/5 rating
1. taz - 1.5 2. Rigby - 2.5 3. Sleeping - 1.5 4. Love - 1.5 5. Here - 1.5 6. Yellow - 2 7. Said - 1 8. Good - 1 9. Bird - 1 10. One - 1.5 11. Doctor - 0 12. Tell - 1 13. Life - 1.5 14. Tomorrow - 0
I think when people say that the Beatles suck, they are talking about this album.
I get that they're influential and important to music... But I just can't see it. I was actually looking forward to exploring more of the Beatles since I only know their most famous hits. This album was such a slog to get through even though it's pretty short. I only liked about one song
Yeah, can't do it. 2 stars
no matter how hard i try, i just can't muster the strength to like the beatles.
I don't think I'm much of a Beatles fan 😬
Awful Paul songs.
Admittedly not a Beatles fan but more because I just haven’t listened to too much of them. Don’t think I’ll be listening to many of these songs twice. Too many just didn’t land.
we all live in a yellow submarineeeeeeeeeeeee :33
This was fine. I found a lot of it blended together.
Don't like the beatles
Not one of my favorite Beatles albums, there's some good tunes on here bit most of it kind of goes in on ear and out the other.
bleh this is just the beatles at their worst. nothing amazing in the whole thing and even the more interesting songs like eleanor rigby only last for 2:30
7eme album des Beatles => 2/5 Super, c'est le dernier !
I hate yellow submarine
Invecchiato male dai.
vlt eif zu höchi erwartige gha wege beatles aber ned eso nice gfunde bes uf elanor rigby
Meh
im sorry but what do i know….. def some interesting sounds but i just have no context for the beatles
meh
Not sure. Can tell they were on drugs with this album. Still unconvinced by them :) 5/10
Doesn't really work for me, not really into the Beatles I don't think. Felt longer than the 32 minutes. I did enjoy "Got to Get You Into My Life" though, which saves this from being a 1 star.
I DON’T GET IT. I like rock, I like pop but this sounded like another generic Brit pop album to me won’t be exception of Eleanor Rigby. First Beatles album and woefully disappointed, is this what everyone was talking about?
I appreciate that the Beatles were pioneers of the post rock n roll pop era but that's it. They were a lightweight pop band with some catchy tunes. Lennon and McCartney have to be the most overrated song writers of all time. There's some good pop songs on Revolver but also some dross. Plenty of far better albums came out in 1966.
A few ok tracks but I'm not a Beatles fan so it gets old fast
Taxman : that guitar in the left ear is unlistenable Why do they keep doing that panning instruments to only one side thing
Never liked Beatles and most likely never will.
Yeah, it's pop music by Them. I don't think much of it.
The Beatles = The Beatles Taxman and Eleanor Rigby are great songs. The rest are typical Beatles, straight down the middle. However. Yellow Submarine is the WORST. SONG. OF. ALL. TIME.
it was ok, a few cool songs in the context of the album, but got no urge to add to my own playlists; still unconvinced by the beatles
ehh.. didn’t really enjoy i fear😭
I did not like it but the one about the girl leaving that guy ate tbh
Interesting. Sounds like what the beetles have been described to me as. I like it though
Here there and everywhere is good But other than that no songs really stood out to me (sorry) and there are way better Beatles albums. Still, i respect it for the legacy i guess
It aint this one
Such an odd, uneven album. Has probably my favorite beatles song on it but then also Taxman. 2.5
don't love it.
EW taxman- stop being british. 3 eleanor rigby- 2. this sounds actually terrible im only sleeping- 3 love you to- 3 or 4 here there and everywhere- 3 yellow submarine- 3 she said she said- 3 good day sunshine- 2 or 3 no more didnt realize music was playing
Surprised it took so long for another Beatles record to appear after getting Abbey Road as my first pick back at the start of the year. Sigh, I admit I don’t understand the hype with the Beatles. Were they groundbreaking for the time? What am I missing? I just can’t get into them. Anyway, I don’t know if it’s controversial or not but I thought Abbey Road was better. Revolver does get better at it goes on, and I did like the length and all songs being 3 minutes max. 2.5 stars
I've never understood the hype The Beatles get and this record proves it. It's too bland and I find the vocals annoying. Love You To and Yellow Submarine are some bright spots in the album, but it's far from enough to make this worthy of a decent rating. I like the ideas of the different instruments they used compared to their other albums, but I don't think they executed it as well as they could, or should, have.
If Elenore Rigby and Yellow Submarine were not on this album, it would be forgettable.
I don't think I'd listened to this before... and it was bad.
Actually kind of enjoyed this album. But not THAT much.
Nothing very special. I feel they try to experiment with some exotic sounds but it didn't went fantastic. It sounded like a normal band. The lyrics are good though.
Again, another passable Beatles album. Not a lot more
yeah... its the beatles.
I don't think I like the Beatles...
I know I should, but I just don’t enjoy listening to the Beatles
Some of these songs are really bad (“she said she said” for example). And what the hell was “Dr. Robert”? The sitar pieces seem a little forced, or demonstrate someone just exploring because they can. The stark fade outs at the end of nearly every song are not good. They finally show some vocal chops with the soulful ending to “got to get you into my life” and they just… fade out during it. Some gems in here for sure (“Good Day Sunshine”, “And Your Bird Can Sing”), but this album ain’t for me.
Feel like for a Beatles album this was pretty lame. Just all kinda melted together no real stand outs even yellow submarine in the midst of this album is boring
Yeah i dunno man. Beatles just dont do it for me. Wierd thing is i really liked across the universe soundtrack and beatles rock band. But i find their music just not very inspiring, definitely not to their level of success. This album in particular seemed lazy and just belegh.
Another massive group I’ve never listened to but I expected a lot better. Some good tracks but some poor and a few sound like nursery rhymes so not sure how it’s so highly rated. Stupid scousers
I’m not a huge Beatles fans so I have a hard time rating their music. I respect those who enjoy the music but Ive always had a hard time getting into anything by them.
2 good songs and a bunch of commercial jingles...
Not a Beatles person...nothing I can do about it.
The Beatles just don’t really do it for me. Nothing on the album caught my attention. Eleanor Rigby was kind of hard to listen to with only 1 ear in, the lyrics switch channels throughout the song. I missed most of the lyrics.
Ok, I finished my "Beatles Faze" before the age of 20. That's 45 years ago. I don't listen to them anymore.. I had my fill. This music has been played TOO MUCH, but I guess everyone growing up needs to have a chance to have a phase with them. I'll admit that listening to a couple of the opening tracks, I could hear the power of their ingenuity and felt like it's pretty rare to hear new bands that write songs as powerful as these were then.
Good.
I listened to this immediately after "Rubber Soul," and it struck me as a significant step down. Much of the production is a lot less engaging, more basic, and occasionally annoying.
i understand what they did for mainstream white people rock and roll but A) i don’t like it and B) just like CCR, i can’t on principle rate an album highly when it’s white people making music and building fame off of styles originated by nonwhite artists - not only black musicians who created rock n roll from blues and jazz, but in this instance, styles of Indian music co-opted by white British men.
No me gustan los Beatles
i don’t like the beatles i think they’re gay asf except for ringo he’s a pretty cool guy i guess
Terribly boring. I'm sorry.
This is doing some things musically, and it gets points for what it did for music history, but there is a reason most of these songs are not on the Greatest Hits albums.
Eleanor Rigby I do love, and has some other of their bigger tracks on it, but was fairly forgettable in my opinion
I guess at this point I should expect all of their albums to show up on this list
I don’t like the Beatles
Beatles.
Mmmmm Sadboi Beatles album, not the greatest. TaxMan is a banger
Mid. 03/10 Fav. Song: Here, There and Everywhere.
at least it was short I guess.
I can appreciate the production experimentation here (and I like LSD too), but the fact of the matter is that I do not enjoy The Beatles, and this record did not change my mind.
not sure I like this one. I do like other Beatles albums but this is a bit...strange
Yeah it was decent, not my favourite from them but you can hear their sound evolving towards the end of the album. Can see why it's here, probably wouldn't listen again apart from a few songs.
Tja. Beatles. Bei allem Respekt hoher nervfaktor
Meh
Was honestly a boring album I can understand why they were popular at their time but now it just feels like a more slow and inconsistent album making it more difficult to listen too, Eleanor Rigby feels like the only good song.
mejor mierda
Having to listen to yellow submarine at my big age, worst beatles album
This sucks ass, i dont get how anyone can call them the greatest of all time. fav song Tomorrow never knows
I listened to a few songs from the album, but I couldn’t get into it so I ended up dropping it. It’s just not my taste. I did like Eleanor Rigby, though.
No me copo, no lo volvería a escuchar
No. No more Beatles. No.
Några riktiga klassiker men allt annat var bara irriterande
they suck
I Don't like the beatles
EW
One decent song (Eleanor Rigby) is far outweighed by one of the worst songs ever recorded (Yellow Submarine). Utterly phantasmagorical how they could have been released as a double single. The past really was a different country. Third rate attempts at techniques already standard in classical music and laughable attempts to incorporate Indian music.
First song hit, and I thought this right here.. would be the album that reintroduces me to The Beatles and makes me fall in love with them as band.. man was I wrong.. what is wrong with me? why don’t I like The Beatles? Will I EVER like The Beatles?
i just don’t like the beatles
That was genuinely painful to listen to. I never want to listen to this group of whiny wife beaters ever again. No seriously, separating the art from the artist....wait no I can't because this isn't art. Yellow submarine sounds like something I would've had to sing around a campfire when I was in the girl guides and the rest of this album was equally as unlistenable. Beatles fans need to touch grass and listen to some real music (Pink Floyd)
not my thing
I hate the beatles
1 good song, so 1 star!
Fuck this band.
Did not age well at all. The Great Boy Band there were a few short years before this album is completely gone by this release.
нет.
America is way better than England
Hell nah I ain’t listening to the Beatles
Beatles. Wieder einmal schade vor einem Wochenende. Werde wohl anderes hören.
Fuck!!! You!!! God!!!
no
Luckily these songs aren't longer, but still there is a lot of them. Just saying that Beatles is not my thing. But for sure this is better album than Abbey Road. And once again faded ends in some of the songs. Can't stand it.
At least they were nice enough to keep it to 35 minutes.
Underwhelming opening, sloppy transitions and poor flow, generally quite boring. Didn't do anything for me. At least it's pretty short. Weird ending as well, wasn't sure what to make of that last track, to be honest.
Ok
I must be the only person who doesn’t like Beatles.
It hurts my butthole
Wow could there be a more disappointing first selection from the 1001 albums generator than a tired, boring, trite Beatles album? What's next, One Direction?
Still don’t like Beatles
Most overrated band of all time
No
Why does anyone like the Beatles?
Fuck The Beatles.
some cute ideas (e.g. environmental sounds in yellow submarine) but execution absolutely awful. did any of them even enjoy performing? if so we can't tell.
Maybe my favorite Beatles album
Not my favorite Beatles album, but def some good songs on this. I'm fairly certain Dr. Robert was their drug dealer, and this album was made after dabbling with Ayahuasca.
School, Dreamer, Crime Of The Century.
