Back At The Chicken Shack
Jimmy SmithFine but not amazing
Fine but not amazing
Yeah I'm not interested in this. No digs against anyone who does enjoy this, but I find nothing to enjoy here.
Life's too short for this
21st Century Schizoid Man gets this an automatic 5 star. Amazing song, great album.
why i gotta listen to this
Folksy guitar + vocals. Fast car song.
Good metal album.
Old school punk. Sound is janky, even for punk.
Pretty groovy. Lots of Stevie Wonder songs I hadn't heard. Lots of different ideas.
Cool album made with only samples. Smooth.
Pretty good rock album.
Good electro-pop. Can get a bit repetitive.
Jazzy, Norah's got a nice voice.
Some good moments (mostly the guitar playing), but overall did not like it. Lyrics were pretty bad.
Ok rock. Some decent songs, but some songs were tough to get through.
Not really my thing.
Nice voice, so-so album.
Really fun and funky.
Very folksy.
Not bad but nothing super special.
Decent rock album, not super memorable.
Interesting album. I kind of liked it.
Fun album. Didn't love all the songs.
Overall good, but I find that the songs mostly sound the same.
Good moments but not my favorite.
Some good parts but very repetitive.
Some parts I really liked, others I really didn't, so giving an averageish score.
Powerful but I didn't really like it.
Stops short of amazing for me, but it is really good.
Wanted to like it more, but still good.
It's Frankie. He's great but the sad songs do get very repetitive.
Really not a fan. Couldn't make it all the way through.
Solid Radiohead.
Bit dull.
Mediocre.
Pretty alright.
Pretty alright acoustic stuff. Didn't find anything special for me.
Decent album, but not my favourite Zeppelin by far.
Song aspects I really liked, like the band, but some songs were too repetitive and his voice didn't always work for me. Overall pretty good.
Not a fan of this style.
Didn't love all the songs, but damn the good songs are good.
Good soul album. First couple songs were hot.
Interesting album, but don't think I'll listen to it again.
Very raw. Hard to rate. Some amazing stuff in here, some stuff I never want to listen to again.
Decent but repetitive.
I like funk, but only sorta liked this.
Big meh
Pretty meh except for a couple songs.
21st Century Schizoid Man gets this an automatic 5 star. Amazing song, great album.
Fun album and good debut!
Basie <3
Not terrible, but nothing really stood out for me.
This is hella sexy.
Some standouts but mostly boring.
Is this the album that gets me into Bowie? I didn't love most of it, but Fame was really good.
Fun rock.
Not terrible, but boring.
I can see how this would have been amazing in 1966 but was only alright for me.
Didn't work for me.
The music video for the title track made me give this 1 star.
OK, and good at times, but repetitive and the sound quality was pretty terrible.
Not terrible, but really not my cup of tea. Just not that interesting to listen to.
Might have been genre defining, but I couldn't get through this.
Obviously art but I wouldn't listen to it regularly.
Didn't find anything interesting for me.
Really liked the first song, and realllly didn't like the rest. Scrapes by with a 2.
Has some highlights but overall pretty boring. That's too bad.
Band sounds cool but couldn't make it past the vocals.
Just dreadful.
Really fun. It's funky, and they do some weird stuff. It definitely overstays its welcome though. I'm not sure if the back half is actually worse or if it's just too long.
Really liking this blending of styles. Some parts I didn't like as much but overall super cool.
Started strong but by the end felt a bit tired.
I really liked some songs on here, but overall I found the album only ok.
Overall killer but got some songs/sections I really don't like like.
Probably my favourite The Who album so far but still only OK.
ehhhhhh
Really fun, but some low points keep it from a 5.
Really interesting and super weird.
Alright but repetitive.
Liked the first half but got pretty tired.
Dismal. The band was somewhat OK but the lyrics and vocals were so bad I actually laughed a couple times. Oh and the cover is the worst.
holy shit
Fun album with some really good songs that drags a bit at times.
Not exactly easy listening, but damn if it isn't good.
Took a couple of listens to get it, but this is definitely amazing. Some of the vocals are shit, which drags down the initial appeal, but I love the overall experience.
Started out fun, but got wayyy too repetitive.
Man those vocals... some interesting things but overall did not work for me.
Unexpectedly fun! Not a fan of punk normally but this blend of styles did it for me.
Started strong but there was too much looping with not enough to listen to.
Some great highlights but overall average.
Surprised by how much I like this.
Ehh it was alright.
Too much shouting/noise.
I really dislike this style of indie rock. There were moments where I almost felt like I was having a good time. But overall so bland and same-y.
Some cool stuff (New Frontier is fun) but lots that was too meh
Possibly my favourite Led Zeppelin album, I really like the more bluesy style.
Fuck this
Couldn't get into this.
Eddie carries this for me, but I don't like it enough for anything higher than a 3.
After not really liking their debut album, I was very pleasantly surprised by this! Fun album with a mix of styles that still has a punk feel. Who knew punk could be good?
Certainly has its moments, but overstays its welcome. Even Layla, which is a banger, shouldn't have that second half imo
Pretty weird. Hard to rate
Pretty cool, especially for 1989 rap. Not sure if I would listen to this a lot, rounding a 3.5 up to 4.
This is an amazing album. I saw Herbie live, and you already know his encore was playing Chameleon on a keytar.
I'm going to appreciate Kraftwerk for the ambience and electronic experimentation while still hating every second of actually listening to it.
bleh
Aggressively meh
Not terrible, but I just don't like this style of music.
Life's too short for this
Some great moments, lots of boring stuff in between. Wish this was like half as long.
It's like, OK.
I dislike this just a bit more than The Stooges stuff. Just doesn't do much for me.
It's alright, but really repetitive.
A bit hard to rate given it's a soundtrack. Overall I really enjoyed this. Super spooky/distressing. Now interested in watching this movie.
Never actually listened to this before, it's pretty good!
Surprisingly fun!
Great voice, but subpar album. Very 90s pop production.
Pretty cool but felt like it dragged towards the end. Solid 4.
Alright but not spectacular.
Not gonna listen to this.
Not terrible but very same-y.
Somewhere between a 3 and a 4.
Really tried but did not work for me.
Almost good but gets boring. I think it would have been better without the rap.
It's like, OK. Not a huge disco fan so I didn't love most of it.
Maybe a 4, maybe a 3. Fun but not super memorable.
Cool moments surrounded by pretty dull stuff. Basically how I feel about most of the Beatles.
Not super bad but not super interesting.
Certified banger.
There were songs I liked, but also a lot that was just boring.
Pretty interesting. Not all great but liked a lot of it.
nice
Great moments but a lot of it stinks.
Could be higher if it was shorter.
not much to say
Great moments and moments that drag. Superstition is a banger.
meandering, odd. hmm
ok but repetitive
ehhh
ugh
good memories, and this kinda holds up, but most of it is only ok
good moments
chill
Imperfect but really cool. the back half definitely started feeling more repetitive, but overall I quite liked this
Loud angry punk. Sounds kind of the same after a while.
very cool
Has moments of life, but overall drags
promising but didn't stay interesting
not super complex, but done so well.
aight but also kinda meh
started out meh and got worse. i dont want a headache
Some hits on here. Overall alright, but definitely fun.
Title track was pretty great, but didn't like the rest much.
why i gotta listen to this
Pretty fun!
it's alright but i didn't really enjoy it that much
ok but nothing really stood out
niiiiiiiiiice
no lasting impression
Not as bad as their debut, but I find little here to appreciate. I think I just hate shoegaze, I find it depressingly dull.
not bad but not that great.
🅱️🅱️👑 This was amazing, gotta listen to more BB King now.
kinda fun
Didn't like some of the songs, really liked some others. Overall better than I expected.
Liked this a lot more than I expected, definitely will revisit
Mr Brightside is a hit. Somebody told me is alright. Rest of the album was pretty forgettable. No wonder I only knew the singles.
Interesting but not amazing. Kind of wish it was more focused/less long. Overall like a 3.5 maybe, rounding to 4. Not sure if I'll listen more.
It was ok but maybe a bit too repetitive.
Hard to rate - some hits but overall I'm not really into this.
Had a lot of fun with this one, but some songs feel repetitive.
*sigh*
Was going to give this a 2 but I'm just soo bored. I never want to listen to this ever again.
Alright with some weak songs.
Love this album. Not my top Gorillaz album but I still enjoy this a lot.
20 minutes in and I've heard enough. This isn't good.
I can recognize that things are going on here, but it doesn't make much of an impression on me. I didn't really like the first half. Back half got weird, sometimes in a good way.
Nothing super special but had some fun. Wish it was less repetitive.
Really fun!
Scrapes a 3 but I'm not happy about it.
Interesting, heavily helped by vocals.
That was fun, probably will revisit!
I don't think this list needs At Folsom Prison _and_ At San Quentin. I consider this basically a duplicate. Minus one for that gives a 3.
Does alright. Take on me is legendary.
OK but gets old really quickly.
Started interesting but quickly fell back into what I hate about Primal Scream. Too repetitive and not enough interesting going on to warrant it.
Like Neil Young but slightly better voice and slightly worse songs. I hate Neil Young.
Pretty fun! Not sure if I liked it enough to revisit but it was a good time.
Cool idea, but fell flat for me. I don't like Metallica that much to begin with.
Alright but won't revisit.
Nice but gets old quick.
Not interested
Some interesting things going on here, might have to revisit.
Soft country
Rough start but pretty fun! Kinda all over the place style-wise but I don't mind that. Didn't love all the vocals.
This is like almost great sometimes
Some standouts (Go Back Home, Cherokee) but overall this was only OK for me.
Not abjectly terrible, but I do not like this. I hope there's no more Lou Reed.
Silver Raven is a beautiful song
I do not like Bruce
Flutes are sick
Surprised by how much I didn't like this.
Ok but not amazing
Already owned this. I really enjoy listening to this album.
Pretty groovy
Interesting but not amazing
Pretty alright. Not sure why it's on here though. I liked Remain In Light better than this.
snooze
Normally The Who gets a 3 but -1 for a live album. This is my 4th The Who album so far. I hope there's no more. Not that they're terrible, I just don't think I'm going to change my mind about them being only ok.
Cool, if a bit repetitive
Was going to rate higher but that last song... ugh
It's not bad, but is very samey
Kinda interesting but not that great to listen to.
aight
Pretty cool, and holds up impressively well.
aight
Some high highs and some looooow lows. Tough to rate because of that.
Started out fun but the more I listened the less I liked it.
Good, but won't be entering my list of favourite jazz albums.
Singles are maybe a 3. Rest is a 2.
I like this a good bit. Very raw.
Nice folksy guitar album.
Was not feeling this one, got stale pretty quick.
Some great stuff, some boring stuff.
It's like fine but I don't really want to listen to it.
boring
Alright, has it's ups (Riders on the Storm) and downs (L'America)
Not terrible, just eminently forgettable.
Pros: weird. Cons: noodly.
ok. i didnt really enjoy it that much
bored
First Bowie album I really liked, this is killer.
weird, and almost in a good way
It's fun. I wish it wasn't so safe. Parts do feel too generic. Overall I still enjoyed it, but I feel like I could have loved it if it took more risks.
Easy 5. Great album.
Pretty standard punk. I don't really like punk
Pretty chill
It's OK. Doesn't have as much going on as To Pimp A Butterfly, which I really liked about that album. I don't see myself coming back to this album much if at all, where Butterfly has entered my regular rotation.
From the guy who sings Hallelujah in the Shrek movie comes a whole album that isn't the song Hallelujah. After listening to this album I listened to Hallelujah. That song is great, Leonard Cohen writes beautiful lyrics and Rufus' voice is sorrowful and brings out the heart of the song. Oh right, Want One is ok I guess not my sort of thing.
I find I like this much less than the Beatles.
best country music. still only a 3
fine
some great songs, some not so great. wish there was more funk
this album reminds me why I don't really like punk
ok i guess but bored
Pretty mid.
ok
decently fun
chill
ok i guess. kinda wish there was more of the traditional stuff. their album Liege and Lief is better for that.
was having fun, first half was very Minutemen. liberty for our friend was a super snooze. second half was kind of dull
can't get on board with this
Some standouts and some more boring parts.
i guess its ok but too long and not that much going on
snooze
after 2 one-star reviews, will the 3rd kraftwerk album change my mind? no
its fine but i won't be revisiting. basically how i feel about all the stones albums I've listened to so far
not interested
very boring
Muse is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, but I have a lot of fun.
i really don't like this. sounds bland
pretty weird but only sometimes good
bemshaaaaaa
needed more time in the oven, feels half-baked
doesn't stand out
I just don't get it. Moments were alright but most of it just doesn't do anything for me.
not terrible but wayyy too repetitive
very 90s
i guess i can see why it would appeal but it doesn't to me
cool blues but kinda got boring
not interesting indie rock
I've heard Fela Kuti before, but not this full album. This was great! Really enjoyed the solos
found it a bit dull tbh
very 80s pop rock.
its like ok
not horrible but that's about all i can say
had some moments but far from great
yawn
pretty alright
yesssssss
kinda fun but overall not that great.
repetitive and didn't grab my interest
bass lines are pretty sick. but i dont actually like this very much. i'll let it slide with a 3
has its moments but didn't like it enough for more than a 3.
like ok
had some standout moments
big old meh
dont like this type of indie stuff
almost good, wish it was a bit more restrained
not for me
can't stand this shout rap
pretty slick but not enough going on to go higher than 4
perfectly alright
i'm not a huge beatles fan, but i'd much rather be listening to the beatles
not down for most old school rap
its like if remain in light was bad
what the fuck
tough to rate - a couple songs are great but the rest are kinda lame. I can imagine liking this a lot when it came out
wish it was a bit more jazzy and less rock-y. overall decent to good
Pretty cool. Had some great moments, and some that dragged. Somehow felt longer than 40 mins
kind of interesting but also less so than oediupus schmoedipus. low 3
far too repetitive. not a fan of this style
I can't get behind these electronica albums
has some ok moments but not a standout for me
ok but got old pretty quick
i really hate the smashing pumpkins
it was like ok but got boring
started strong but became mostly noise
yawn
big ugly mess
has a pretty strong start, but overall way too long
alright
better than I expected, but not amazing
digging this way more than Aja. groovy
ok. but i dont love it
it's pretty fun but didn't stand out to me that much
certainly had its moments, but was long and bit repetitive and very 80s
ok blues rock on the face of it but I didn't really enjoy this
not like bad but eminently forgettable
fun with lots of different sounds
didnt love this one, low 3
don't think I'll revisit but really not as bad as I expected after really hating "Ray of Light"
really didn't enjoy this, too cheesy-sounding
not bad but didn't really stand out.
not my favourite style, but nice songs done really well.
very fun rock with lots of different stuff going on
certainly had some cool moments, but the middle dragged. cut out the middle and we can talk.
Pretty fine
kept waiting for something to happen
doesn't quite reach the depths of kraftwerk but I only barely didn't hate this
wow i hated this a lot. something about this indie/bedroom sound really rubs me the wrong way
might be good songs in here but i can't stand his stupid voice
some cool parts some just boring. overall interesting but probably won't revisit
there was some fun in here but overall I did not enjoy
intensely boring
weird, and sometimes in a good way. but sometimes the crappiness shines through. overall average
abrasive guitar is right. this stinks
really weird but I kinda like it?
like not great
not doing this for 50 minutes
comparing vocals to bob dylan is not a compliment
boring
I appreciate the effort but this was never more than OK. And sometimes it was worse. ehh could be a 2 or 3
perfectly alright
ok but kind of boring
thought this was a cool album for the 90s or something. 2 starts for actually being from 2017
it has its moments, but i wish it was shorter and more focused
perfectly ok
hadn't really listened to this one much before. I started out not really liking it but it really grew on me.
hints of things I like but overall not interesting enough
fuck off
ok but pretty forgettable other than The One I Love
It's fine but after the first song sounds a bit same-y
surprisingly enjoyable
alright. not bad, even
pretty dated sound, but i can see how this would have been really fun when it came out. first song is pretty awful (sounds like mario music maker) but it does get better
don't like this guys voice. so-so songs though
I really like queen, but I find I'm only ok on their albums. Some amazing songs in here, but uh also a lot of stuff that's just ok. I can see why their best hits albums are super popular.
it's fine, but a bit boring
hard to rate. points for being interesting. following along with an english translation definitely made it more enjoyable. bit slow for me personally
nick cave is a weird one. i usually like the beginning and then i just get tired of it. i'll leave this a 3
wow this gets a 1 for sounding like its from the 80s and being from 2017.
it's alright. could see how this would be very popular when it came out. sounds pretty modern! don't think I need so many REM albums in this list tho.
better than i expected. but wayy too long
bad but i suppose not terrible
I really don't like Iggy Pop. I don't even really like Bowie that much (with some exceptions). So this album doesn't do much for me. Just kind of... boring
this shouldn't be on the list. nothing for me here
not my cup of tea.
More listenable than some of the other Dylan albums on here. But I still can't rate it that high
It's fine, although nothing groundbreaking. Definitely too long. And weird that it's live but also not. Not bad enough for a 2 though.
alright, lots of energy.
interesting but don't know if i'd revisit
quite liked it
fine but not really my style
aaaaah
a low 3. has its moments
felt ok to listen to but not super memorable. maybe a high 3 but doesn't feel like a 4
didnt really enjoy this
started out interesting, but i didn't end up finishing this. the skits were really a drag.
not terrible but got pretty bland
got some bangers
has some awesome moments and some forgettable parts. wish it was shorter with just the bangers
nice, but impossible not to compare to Kind of Blue which it falls short of
can't stand his whiny voice
i have a headache
pretty meh
pretty fun
pretty weird and not always pleasant but usually interesting
expected to hate this after hating Arise. went back and forth on this one. didn't like the thrashier parts but really liked some of it. still earns a 4
Fine but not amazing
started well but got kinda bland
high 2 or low 3. nothing super standout
Had a lot of fun but didn't love the slower songs
not really my thing
pretty simple. but crazy this came out so long ago.
low side of meh
high side of meh.
what's up with car songs? -1 for that
pretty ok. some ups and downs. don't feel the need to relisten
pretty fun
was thinking 2 or 3. but went with 2 because really why do we need to many bob dylan albums on here
certainly has it's moments but also has it's awful moments
Rush is like almost good. But I don't like his voice. Or the lyrics. Or that one asian riff in bangkok seriously it always makes me think of the asian cat in aristocats who plays that its pretty cringe
ehhh
Tiny Dancer is sick but most of the other songs didn't really stand out. Still not bad.
pretty kinda dull
pretty aight
i'm pretty big on radiohead but this was only ok for me.
Y'know, as atmospheric music, it's really not bad. I don't love the style in general though.
It's not like amazing but it is fun and there's enough going on to keep it interesting. I'll say it's satisfying to listen to, even if I don't think it's amazing.
appreciate the rhythms and guitar but didn't really enjoy listening to it. didn't like the vocals and after each song is set up (this is the rhythm) it doesn't really change
simple but nice
Not terrible, and some interesting sounds going on, but the singer is just so bad. Honestly this is a big pattern I've been noticing, where the instrumentalists are pretty much always solid (punk aside but that's punk) - but band's are often dragged down by subpar vocals. Like I would like this album more if you just stripped the vocals away.
Can't put my finger on anything specific I don't like, but somehow this sum of a bunch of decent but not amazing things make an album that I just can't care about. Like the singing is not bad but not anything I'll remember. The instrumentation is nice with interesting sounds, but again nothing that really grabs ahold. DLZ was pretty good tho
Pretty decent, but a bit too grating for me. I know I know - this is just what punk sounds like. But that's why I don't really like most punk. Some decent guitar stuff and the vocals are sometimes ok sometimes too much. Not for me but I can see why people would like this.
Kind of bland inoffensive pop-rock. I dunno man it's like dad-roadtrip-music or something. Didn't have to be this long. Songs were pretty repetitive so I started skipping to the next one halfway through to make it to the end. Apparently the last side is pretty much live studio. I like it better. Sounds less sterilized, or maybe I'm just biased to think it is. Anyway probably won't revisit this.
I like his singing better when he's not singing super high. Love the bass on here. It's very easy listening, which also kind of means nothing stands out too much. May revisit this
Put together decently well but just not enough going on. Too repetitive. Boring, even. If you want a chill album to listen to, try Beat Tape 2 by Tom Misch. For me it perfectly balances repetitiveness and new elements. Anyway Smokers Delight gets like a 2 or whatever.
Definitely liking this more than the other Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds that I've had so far. Feels more consistent. I have a thing for wandering lyrics so this works for me. His voice doesn't blow me away but it does the job. Simple arrangements work well for the sad vibe. Overall would listen to again while sad.
This was pretty fun, even though the production isn't super high. Felt like a bunch of friends jamming. Some of the songs aren't particularly good though. I Can't Stand It - yeah accurate song title. Somehow I listened to the Deluxe version which is far too long.
Don't think it's my favourite rap album but it's good. The rapping feels smooth. The beats are not bad. Wasn't a fan of the Beyonce song. The album is dragging as it goes on. Not enough of the lyrics are really popping, and the 2000s beats are getting to me. Still not bad.
I guess I can see the influence it had on later bands, but can't say that I really enjoyed listening to this. Not that it was bad, the sounds were pleasant, but it wasn't super interesting to me. Just a bit too simple. 2 seems too harsh for this so 3 I suppose.
Super weird. Warranted a second listen just based on that. I either love it or am indifferent and it's hard to tell. I think I'll come back to this one.
Wow crazy how some relatively small changes can change my enjoyment of a band. I did not like this, especially compared to Master of Puppets. Too much drums. Guitar riffs are good as always, but overall too thrash-y for my tastes.
Yeah it's punk.
Nice. I liked the instrumental songs most. The vocals sound pretty classic indie-rock (which I don't really like), but the instrumental parts are more latin-indie-rock, which is cool.
I think I love this. Had only listened to Chicago II before, but this feels more raw. A bit less polished, and it really suits them.
Seems reminiscent of, yet maybe slightly worse than, Rain Dogs. Apparently this album is the first that he self-produced, and Rain Dogs was 2 years later, so that kind of tracks. I'm grooving to 16 Shells from a Thirty-Ought Six though. Yeah overall this was good. Very similar to Rain Dogs. I think we could have had one or the other on this list.
Kind of like the stuff with Neil Young but without Neil Young's annoying voice. Vocals aren't like, great here, but they don't annoy me. Guitar work is great. I wish this was an instrumental album, it would be way better. Damn it I was listening to the wrong album. Manassas later became the name of the group, and released another album. OK listening to the correct album. It's like ok I guess. Too long. Some good parts, mostly pretty dull.
This is like a famous record. But it doesn't do all that much for me. I mean, it's not bad. Bass lines are fun. Background is fine. Marvin can sing. But somehow it doesn't add up to anything super impactful for me. I guess it never really feels like it's going anywhere.
I really wanted to like this. I should like this. But oh my god I cannot get past these vocals. Honestly unlistenable.
Backgrounds are pretty fun, but I really don't like this style of rap. Just falls flat.
I'm of a couple minds about this. First off I hate Pictures At An Exhibition from the time I played it in concert band. But I love classical music in general, and prog rock covers of classical music sounds like a great idea. But I don't like live albums. Haven't listened to ELP before. Overall ok. Curious to listen to a different ELP album though.
I can appreciate the groove but I don't think I'll revisit. Not enough going on. High 2 or low 3.
Bass line in the first song was dope. Seems like an enjoyable album so far. Don't love the vocals in all the songs, kind of a lazy rap.
it's chill. but i don't really like it. nothing obviously wrong about it but more like what it doesn't have. it doesn't have anything super interesting.
Wow that was something. The vocals aren't, like, good, but they work for the album. And the instrument work is quite good. Overall this is just fun.
Yeah I'm not interested in this. No digs against anyone who does enjoy this, but I find nothing to enjoy here.
I got pretty into this. Great guitar stuff in here. The band is pretty tight. Somewhat sparse arrangement which works for them.
Winnipeg? Not my style. I'm not always against dance music but I usually am. Too repetitive, too simplistic. Too easy listening, if that makes sense.
Pretty fun. I've listened to this before. It's not a killer album but it is enjoyable. Nothing really grabs out and gets you but the playing is solid.
started out ok rock, turned into so-so pop-y stuff. points for experimenting, and for not sounding awful, but I'm not a fan
Biggest downside is how all the songs sound pretty similar. Not a huge fan of his highest pitch vocals. Instrument work is pretty good though. Don't think I'd actively listen to this much but it's nice low background.
Huh?
I didn't really enjoy this. Even compared to other Cohen albums on here. I'm sure the lyrics are nice, but if I don't enjoy listening to it why not just write poems?
Suuper weird. Overall I found this good but not great. Some of the weirdness didn't coalesce into something I could enjoy. But some of it did! So going for a 4 star.
OK. Didn't really like the vocals. Very 80s.
Not a fan of country, but this was decently enjoyable. What a difference having a good vocalist makes. Even though I don't really like the style, and some of the songs felt overly simple, it was not a bad listen.
ummm this was like ok I guess. I like what they were going for but I don't think they were that good
I'm sure I would enjoy this more if I knew French. Very passionate singing. Normally I don't like live albums but I don't mind this being live, great energy.
Never heard of them, and seems there's a good reason. This is not interesting.
Liking this way better than the Smiths so far. OK maybe I just liked the first song. Some parts I really enjoyed but overall it was just fine.
Old country. There's too many albums I'd rather listen to.
I liked this better than the later Kings of Leon albums, it sounds much grittier. I really didn't like the vocals here though, like he wasn't enunciating at all. First song kind of pulled me in but the slow songs were awful.
This was probably the best house I've listened to. But I don't really like house.
I really liked In the Court of the Crimson King so I was excited to see King Crimson pop up again, but I didn't really enjoy this. It had some moments, but overall it didn't feel like it was really leading anywhere. The arrangement felt pretty sparse too which I didn't love. I tried it a couple times but probably won't revisit.
It was ok - fun but pretty samey. Sound quality wasn't good.
Definitely too long. Parts were pretty fun though! Has that very 80s sound that I don't love. Bonus points for Relax
really dull
Ok but didn't like as much as their first album.
Better than I expected - I had only listened to one full Kanye album before and I really didn't like that. This had some great production, which makes sense, and some surprisingly good stuff from Kanye. But it definitely falls short for me. Way too long. Annoying skits. And, well, Kanye.
Kind of fine. Nothing really stood out to me except that her voice is nice.
my second album from these guys. start was horrendous. it did turn into music a couple songs in. good bass lines, good guitar, but repetitive to the point of pain
Really didn't need 3 albums by this guy. Oh jeez just checked and he has 4 solo albums on this list + 3 with the Smiths. His voice is fine and the music is ok I guess but it falls flat a bit for me like it's kind of bland.
nice but bossa nova always starts getting pretty samey after a couple songs.
whatever bob
It's smooth, low-volume. Yea
beautiful but repetitive. I get that that's probably intentional since it is religious, but that doesn't mean I have to love it. My favourite parts were when he breaks from the repetition, but that doesn't happen enough for me to bump to 4 stars.
this is uh not great. some songs had a nice groove, but overall found it pretty bland.
not bad rock. I don't love his singing voice. some parts reminded me of a slightly worse arctic monkeys.
super boring. super 80s/90s sound.
Liked this more than I remember. Definitely my favourite Jimi album. I don't love the more psychedelic tracks, but there are some bangers in here.
Wow this isn't good. And super boring. Couldn't finish.
not really for me, but there are interesting things going on. video girl was good. very spooky.
I wish I could compare this to the Cocteau Twins album I've already reviewed, but I literally don't remember it. I don't really like the etherealness. And a bunch of the songs are too repetitive. I think the drum machine really hurts my enjoyment. Singing is not bad. I think the whole vibe just isn't for me.
