Duck Rock
Malcolm McLarenFunny album. Quite hard to decide if I like it or not but it's fairly pleasant to listen to.
Funny album. Quite hard to decide if I like it or not but it's fairly pleasant to listen to.
Fantastic album. It starts with a phone ring and then punches straight into Hanging on the telephone. One of the best "intros" of any album. The album continues with a mix of punk and new wave, fast and slow. All in all, a very well put together album.
A little Meh. There was nothing bad about the album, the tunes were pleasant enough but nothing inspired me to listen again. I found the vocals "whiney" on most tracks. Fine for background music
Hip hop is not really my thing but the album was interesting to listen to. Plenty of attitude and each track is punchy.
Classic rock album, from the very first sound of the bell to the last not, it rocks throughout. The are no weak tracks.
Nothing good to say, parts of the album sounded like a children's musical.
Good album, better than The Beatles' earlier stuff
I suppose this is OK for the genre, I found it a bit discordant - samples cut at the wrong point are uncomfortable to listen to.
Not bad as a debut, a bit dated now but still quite listenable
A bit boring really. Not sure why this is a "must listen" album. Perhaps it was more hard hitting 20 years ago?
Funny album. Quite hard to decide if I like it or not but it's fairly pleasant to listen to.
Good album, good tracks that keep the interest. I feel is loses it's way a little near the end but the first half is solid R&B
Great album, solid performance by the king, no weak tracks with great ones scattered through
A bit dated, so-so
Great, raw punk sound.
Meh! Not bad, not good, just background noise
Soul is not really my thing but this was pleasant, some good tracks, strong vocals
Musically great, some very good tracks the whole album flows well. However, I feel the whole thing is ruined by Morrissey's whiney vocals and inane lyrics. I couldn't see why the Smiths were popular at the time and still can't see it now.
Surprisingly good
Not my thing, background noise only
A pleasant album, a few tracks stand out. A good example of the genre
A bit strange, can't quite place the genre but pleasant enough to listen to
Great album
Awful
All sounds the same, boring
Absolute s***. Sounds like a bunch of preschool kids have broken into the music room. First album I didn't even finish. First album that gets 1* This album is nothing more than discordant noise.
Pretty middle of the road, nice if you like this kind of pop
Classic album, every track is good
Great album. Quite a distinctive style.
Nice, very "Rolling stones" A bit dated now but still listenable
Quite frankly, a bit whiney and boring. Nothing wrong with it as background music but it just drones on with nothing to catch my attention.
Great rock n roll It's a pity I heard the 2005 release which has the crowd cut back, lessening the live feel of the album but still rockin'
Naff I can't stand Nice Cave's voice, the only redeeming features of this album are the tracks where someone else sings. A few good cuts (ignoring the voice) but nothing special, won't listen again
Crap, that's all!
So so, not a bad album but I'm not sure why it's special Pleasant listening
What a great voice and good songs
OK album, not really my thing,
Quite pleasant piano playing
nice music, not a fan of the vocals but a reasonable album
A surprising find, Roxy music is before my time so I was only familiar with their later work. This album starts strongly, great first side - edgy and new sounds The second side really lets it down though, it seems to lose it's way a little side 1 = 4* but side 2 only 3*
Fantastic album. It starts with a phone ring and then punches straight into Hanging on the telephone. One of the best "intros" of any album. The album continues with a mix of punk and new wave, fast and slow. All in all, a very well put together album.
Ok
Not bad, not my favourite kinks album
Dismal' horrible vocals, whiney, found it difficult to listen to the whole album
Nice
A bit boring really. Prince has some real great stuff (Purple Rain for example) but I found this album just so-so.
Good album, keeps rockin' along Probably not my Favourite Bowie but good enough to listen to again
Whiney vocals, poor production, generally adolescent. Maybe an album for your teenage kids
Nice folk album, all good tracks.
OK I guess, didn't really do it for me Pretty standard example of the genre, not bad but not special
Meh! Pretty average folk album, nothing special Linda's voice is much better IMO than her husband making her tracks my favourite
A miserable effort, LH can't sing and the music is boring and dreary
Good enough
Nice, I always liked Rod Stewart and this album is partly RS, partly bluesy rock.
Surprisingly good, I'm not a jazz person normally but this album was pleasant to listen to. Rondo... and Take 5 are both great tracks
After yesterday's surprise jazz album I'm firmly back hating jazz This album is a complete waste of time
Good
Not my favourite Bowie album but good enough
Great voice, good album
Meh! Hip hop is really not my thing. Some is OK, this is average, nothing special at all
Really boring The first track is OK, but then it's just more of the same
Great debut, full of classic tracks
Same as usual, Bob can write songs but ruins them with his singing. And this album I don't even rate the songs....
Nice light album Nothing special IMO but easy to listen to
Good rock n roll
Nice
Boring derivative rubbish
Strangely soothing, albeit depressing at the same time. Not usually my taste but I found the album captivating
Pleasant album, not really ground breaking but easy enough to listen to
Good
Nice swing album The popular hits are great, some of the other tracks are a bit samey but still pleasant
Not great
Pretty boring folk, nothing good or bad about it
Quite pleasant rock album - easier to listen to than some of U2's other offerings
Excellent album, probably my favourite by The Pogues Each track is superb
Ok
Pleasant country stuff Nothing great but nice enough
A bit boring I found
OK, pleasant but really not my thing
I thought this was a little dull Not bad but nothing stood out
Nice, some good tracks
Ok, a good idea but a bit samey, not Metallica's best stuff A bit disappointing really as I was hoping for more
Music OK, lyrics OK, Totally ruined by Morrissey's crap voice Musically not as good as the queen is dead
Not bad
Good solid punk album. Some great tracks, some also rans Hangs together well
Meh, pretty boring, middle of the road, pop/rock Nothing to write home about (or listen to again)
Pleasant, some nice tracks, a few duds Could have used one or two slightly more upbeat tracks to lift it
Jolly Christmas collection, not the best I've heard (or the worst), nothing at all to make this one stand out
OK, resonable punk
A bit Meh!
Average
Nice, soothing R&B
Born to run - great track The rest - a bit boring
Very pleasant, 3 great singers and some good songs
Middle of the road, pleasant sounding but boring
Great album, a little dated but stick worth a listen Side one is great with some classic tracks Side two I felt loses it a little but still good - too short
A bit boring, I really don't like this vocal style
Not too bad, a bit pedestrian but listenable
Great album, even though pop isn't really my thing Some great tracks, whole thing fits together well Quite a step up for Robbie from Take That
Meh! A bit wishy washy, nothing bad as background music but I wouldn't listen to this unless I was in an elevator
What a great voice, lovely album
OK but a bit samey - It seemed to rumble along with no tracks standing out The one exception is "hurt" but I think this was done better my Johnny Cash
Quite good, a bit dated now and I'm personally not a big fan of the vocals but still a reasonable album
A bit weird, some different genres in there too Pleasant though
Awful Terrible voice, whiney songs, nothing at all good to say about this album
Not bad, I'm not a fan of the "shouty" tracks but there are some good cuts that any sung "properly" - heart shaped box, dumb, all apologies Not quite as good as Nevermind IMO but still a fine album
Not my thing
Fantastic album. No bad tracks, some great ones The album flows well and is a pleasure to listen to Still not bored after the 4th or 5th repeat
Shite Awful vocals, dismay tune Only the 2nd album I couldn't even listen to the end
Pretty lame Only one good song (higher ground) and I've heard many better covers of that
OK, a bit dated Probably as good as the beatles so-so stuff
Meh, standard rap type album, not bad, not especially good
Fantastic album, a classic Good structure, starts with a blast, some mellow tracks in the middle and ends on the haunting Hallowed... 40 years on and still one of the best
Not too bad, stands a few listens but not quite a 5 Has some great, well known tracks
Surprisingly good
Another classic album
Nice, great voice, a little pedestrian though
Ok but not great
A bit lame, not my cup of tea
nice pleasant 60s sound, some great tracks on there
Nice, pleasant soul music
Dreamy I didn't like it on the first listen but it grew on me. It is a bit samey though, nothing really stands out
nice, I like Abba and this album is more "mature" than some of their earlier work.
Good album. A nice mix of rock and folk. Not as punchy as LZ4 but well worth a listen
Very middle of the road, not good, not bad, just ok background music
Not my favourite Bowie album, a bit meh!
Some great tunes
Not really my thing but OK I guess
Surprisingly good, never heard of them before but itwas a good effort
Excellent, Queen are one of the best rock bands and this is one of the best Queen albums No bad tracks at all, several fantastic ones. The whole album swings to and fro with ease. It's a masterpiece
Dull!
Not really my thing, a few nice tracks
I'm not a big rap fan and this didn't seem like a good example of the genre Last couple of tracks were ok but I'd already lost interest by then
Excellent effort, plenty of classic tracks, raw power all the way through
Fantastic album The title track is awesome and deserves a 5 all by itself
Nice, a bit dated but the kinks are pretty timeless so still worth a listen
Hmm, a bit weird. A bit like the wall/Tommy but not really as good as either Ok I guess
I really can't stand this kind of music This is only the 2nd album I couldn't even listen to the end
Nice album, not sure why it's a "must listen" though
Boring I'm usually a fan of folk type stuff but this was just drab
Dull, slow plodding vocals that go nowhere. Nothing more than background music
Started good, unfortunately didn't get any better, or any different. Pretty much turned off halfway as it was just droning on with more of the same.
Drab! I really don't rate NC's vocals, and this album is just derivative drivel. No good songs, all just tat
Great rock n roll
Disappointing The album started strong with "1969" and "I wanna be your dog", it then just collapsed. "We will fall" is just awful and the album never really picks up after that
Meh, not really my kind of music and, IMO, not a good example of the genre It wasn't bad, just not good
Not sod bad, not my favourite Who album but listenable
Not bad, a bit samey but fun to listen to
Great album
An all time classic album, plenty of great tracks, no bad ones. Hangs together well
Not really my thing but OK, a bit drab (I know that's the point but...) All a bit samey
OK, pleasant but not really my thing
I think I need more LSD to find this album good Pity, I really like the later Pink Floyd (Dark side.., the Wall, etc) but this was just crap
Surprisingly good, never really got into these guys at the time but this album holds up fairly well. It starts strong although it got a bit non descript after the first few tracks
A bit Meh!
Not really my thing. Pleasant enough but nothing stands out. I couldn't pick any song out of a line up
Good album
First few tracks pleasant ambient music, the second side slightly less so and Hero (a track wikipedia claims is influential) is just crap! Not a great album IMO
so so, can't say it grabbed me. Nothing at all wrong with it but a little lack lustre. Pity as BB king is a fine musician
I'm not a big rap fan. This was just run of the mill sweary rap. Nothing good about it at all, background music at best.
Fair, nothing special but pleasant to listen to
Boring
shite!
I couldn't listen to half of this (due to spotify licensing?) What I heard was OK but not special
Surprisingly good, I didn't rate the darkness when they came out but in retrospect this is actually a fantastic album
Dull
|Not really my thing, nothing wrong with it but I wouldn't listen again
Interesting, not too bad
Pleasant but a bit boring, not really special
Great album, no bad tracks
Not bad at all, blues is not really my thing but this album was very "listenable" for a beginner
Not bad at all. I wasn't a fan when this first came out as this didn't fit with my tastes at the time. In retrospect, it sounds OK. A number of great tracks, Rent, and ..Sin and the rest fit in ok
Not my thing, ok but a bit samey and boring
Excellent album, no bad tracks, all just flows through. Ends on one of my favourite Who tracks (Don't get fooled again)
Fantastic debut album by one of the greatest hard rock bands. Starts strong with Prowler, a great riff. Slow down with Remember tomorrow before punching into Running free followed quickly by another classic track Phantom of the opera. A couple of "album tracks" follow before the great Charlotte and finale with the title track. A great album, well put together, it all flows smoothly. It was clear, with this album, in 1980 that Iron Maiden were going to be big.
Lovely album, flows well and no bad tracks.
Not really my thing but it sounds ok, a few good tracks and some duds
Not my thing Pleasant enough, nothing special IMO
OK, not really special but nice tunes
