Reviews (page 12 of 12)
Britpop always sounds whiny to me, and this is no exception. It's better than Oasis. They added a bit of early Beatles sound to it that I kinda liked.
Other than Alright the rest was typical british blegh music. Not my thing
It was fine. Can't say I've listened to much British rock besides the big bands. The whole album has a very British feeling that feels just dull to me
Im pretty lukewarm on this one. Brit pop esque, with a bit of an experimental edge.
Not my thing, to be honest!
Hmmm. Nah. A bit dull. Hasn’t t aged well. Not a must listen.
Meh. Not that great.
90s typical tripe
One more time - why is this on the list??
British easy-listening rock from the 90s. It is pleasant but not groundbreaking.
Ei, ei, ei.
Немного безумный и дикий. Редко когда нравится открывающий трэк, но I’d like to know стал бы гениальным саундтреком для фильма. Но и конечно Alright поднимающая дух
I did not care for this album. It's not my styles.
Isn’t bad but also isn’t what I would choose to listen to.
Not horrible but not particularly good either.
-not terrible but I think I prefer the other Supergrass album on here. they were both kind of corny (the first in a good way) but this one was kind of… too Britpoppy idk -still had some bangers though. this band has a high energy that fits some circumstances for me -Favorites are Alright and She’s So Loose
Not my thing. Energy was good but idk, too much
Una canción superfamosa y poco más.
would be a very nice album if you could just strip these boring "beatles" parts inbetween
Gives me the heebie-jeebies and reminds me of one of my most disastrous relationships unfortunately
I never really liked Supergrass. Not sure what it was but something about them never connected with me. The singles have a fun energy and helped define the era. The album tracks are a bit meh.
Average
Better than I expected.
One recognizable song
If Jet, Oasis, Green Day, and Weezer had a baby, I imagine this is what it would sound like. It’s sorta pop, sorta punk, just not for me. 1001 album worthy: No - 3/5
Do you like rock music? If you do then this album is for you. I don´t like this album. There voice suck, the album cover sucks, the lyrics suck, and the beat is decent. I would not recommend this album there way better albums out there.
Do you like Alt bands? Supergrass is an English alt band, they have an album called "I should coco". It's not one of their best albums but they do have a song that has been featured in lots of commercials. It's called "Alright". This album has a catchy bass line that you can hear unlike some bands that mute the bass but say you can hear it. the Drumming is very good. I recommend this album.
I remember when this came out and they were the talk of the town. I tried it then and couldn't get into it even though I was open to it. All these years later I still find it average at best. The album has energy and some hooks. "Caught By The Fuzz" and "Alright" are obvious fan favorites based on the listen counts on Spotify, but I don't remember either one and '95 was right in my musical wheelhouse! "Time" was the only song I truly enjoyed. I'm not sure how this makes the Top 1001 - it has it's moments, has some cool production value, but this didn't influence anything that came after it, there are no radio hits, no one mentions Supergrass as a top 90's band, the vocals and songs are just better than average, nothing stands out for me. I could have died without ever hearing this one.
Nope...like a goofy Green Day
Apart from some songs, I did not enjoy this as much as I thought I would.
God I hate this album cover. Really takes it down one star
It’s a unique experience but I struggled to concentrate.
I finally know the difference between Supergrass and Supertramp
Rock, Punk, 1995 -> 2
un álbum de rock bastante friendly, no muy duro. y a pesar de que me han gustado un par de canciones, no lo escucharía entero de nuevo.
Just... not my style
There are some fun moments but overall, it’s not hitting my playlist.
absolutly not my music
Supremely average. Nothing wrong with that but nothing that stands out either. Alright is a fun song but reminds me of TV commercials. 5/10 (2.5/5)
What I liked best (but didn't love): Alright Sofa of My Lethargy Time To Go The rest brought it down to 2
Eén bekend liedje (alright). En een van de laatste nummers (we’re not supposed to) klinkt als de minions
"Alright" is sort of alright but the rest isn't.
This album sounds like music that plays in a shitty Adam McKay movie. I got tired of being yelled and squealed out across the first half of the album. Some of the more focused numbers were solid, but a lot of the tracks felt too eclectic. I feel like this chaotic songwriting gets marketed as 'high-energy', but it is just all over the place to me. The second half of the album was more enjoyable, from She's So Loose onward. The songs slowed down, there was more variety in the instrumentation, and the melodic and rhythmic ideas were more cohesive. The lyrics were not particularly noteworthy, but that does feel a bit asinine given that the lyrics aren't generally at the forefront of this genre. In saying this, this album does not seem particularly special, especially when sat next to its peers from the same year like Melon Collie, What's The Story... etc. Overall, it was okay, but nothing incredible, and I won't be listening to it again.
Wow, this list has frontloaded us with a lot of British Pop-Rock albums. Surely there must only be a few of them left at this point, right? While I think this album is going to get grilled pretty harshly by our group due to britpop fatigue. I don't think there was any salvaging this one to begin with. Maybe I'm just feeling too cynical as well. But a majority of the songs in this album feel too repetitive. I get that this is a pretty basic criticism that can be applied to pop in general. But a lot of the first half of this album just felt like a selection of 1 minute chorus loops with some basic instrumentals to feed itself together with. More than any I have heard in a while felt really desperate to create a catchy hit song. With most of them just feeling forgettable. In my darkest moments of basic indifference to this music, just as I was hoping for something interesting to happen with the album. The monkeys paw finally curled and gave me the song 'We're not supposed to'. These guys were real innovators I tell you, doing an Alvin and the Chipmunks edit of one of their own songs back in 1995. I also thought it was funny how they tried to do a bit of an artsy flourish by having the instrumentals of Strange Ones fade naturally into the beginning of Sitting up Straight. Because for whatever reason they thought it would be nifty if these two generic britpop songs just melded together my brain even more than they already would have. Sofa of Lethargy was probably the closest thing on this album to something I would put on one of my play lists. That along with a few of the catchier tracks at the start are the only things making me give this a lenient 2 grade. Highlights Lenny Alright Sofa of Lethargy
Another Britpop album. 1001 albums that some poms think I should listen to, as much as I like British music this shit is getting to be cultural imperialism. I'd Like To Know is a solid, frenetic track but ultimately forgettable with nothing lyrics and okay vocals. Good opener, if it's indicative of the rest of the album then it'll at least be a /fun/ listen. Caught by the Fuzz is supposed to be a song about getting caught with hash but let's be real, these guys are british so it's probably about fucking underaged girls. Mansize Rooster is more of the same: fast-paced, energetic and boppy stuff. All these songs probably were necessary for dealing with the hell of living with John Major as your PM in Nonce Island. Alright is the most successful single from this album, peaking at number 2 which is pretty huge considering 1995 had stiff competition (all britpop slop) really the only interesting to say about this song. The rest of this album I really just glazed over, I can’t interface with this I think I might have britpop fatigue. The songs are competent and listenable but utterly forgettable. Lose It is my favourite song from this album and it’s a merciful 2m36s and it’s fine. 5/10 God save us and deliver us from Britpop
Big bag of meh
As an American this sounds so derivative and uninspired. It's not a bad album, but I feel like I've already listened to this album a few times already on this list. Not essential at all.
somewhat OK but not mainly my taste.
dont care for this
doof
Day218 - another day another very average brit pop album. i like “alright” well enough but im not adding any to my playlists
I used to think Supergrass were one of the better Britpop bands, but this album has aged poorly, not least the song “she’s so loose” which reeks of 90’s lad culture.
Tämä voittaa helposti heidän roots-yritelmänsä. Huomion kiinnittäminen ei kuitenkaan riitä perusteeksi kulutukselle: en näe syytä sille, miksi soittaisin tätä esimerkiksi Reatardsin, Rip-Offsin tai Loli & The Chonesin sijasta. Garagessa ei ole tilaa kompromisseille. 2+
it had few good songs that i liked but the other songs on the record were not that much enjoyable to me
erinnere mich schon nicht mehr sorry
Kinda meh. Don’t really need to revisit.
Fine enough
Similar to other British pop of the time, unremarkable but listenable
June 20 2025 actually hearing 1. Explotó rocking! Kinda White Stripes-y, fun! Liked 2. Fun, didn't love it 3. MEh... 4. Alright. Fun, good message. Bored tho 5. ok 6. Cool 7. Liked it more! Like 8. Nope 9 y resto fue mid. Not great. 2.7 pero 3 mental
Not my cup of tea nor what I appreciate coming out if my headphones.
One hit wander
Hmm, I initially thought Supergrass were one hit wonders... Anddd they still are!
Sofa was boring, Time to Go reminded me a bit of the Beatles and Oasis. Overall not as interesting as either.
A perfectly fine album, just not the genre for me.
This album is "Alright"
Another one of those noise albums that might have sold well in it's day but hasn't aged well.
Ok
alright is one of my fav songs ever but I don’t understand how it’s on this album
Alright is such a classic, just top tier song. The rest of the album doesn’t live up to how good that one is, but it’s not bad either.
Listened on: 2024/05/09 Track List: 1. I'd Like to Know 2. Caught by the Fuzz 3. Mansize Rooster *? 4. Alright * 5. Lose It *? 6. Lenny 7. Strange Ones *? 8. Sitting Up Straight * 9. She's So Loose * 10. We're Not Supposed To 11. Time * 12. Sofa (of My Lethargy) * 13. Time to Go * -- The first half of the LP was confusing for me. There were a lot of songs (*?) that I didn't know whether I liked them or not. The vocals were a hit-or-miss depending on the song and the lyrics generally didn't impact me. The second half of the LP turned it around though. The lyrics were more impactful and the vocals were more appealing to me. The instrumentals were consistently good throughout the entire LP, which was nice. Not something I'd usually listen to, but glad to have gave it a try!
Would Supergrass have had a career if Hugh Grant hadn't been caught with a hooker and they opportunitistically put the mug shot on the cover of their debut single, 'Caught By The Fuzz'? I'm not sure. They certainly had snappy pop songs but more on the annoying side than catchy for me.
Started off with an edge, ended with a woolen sock.
i liked one song on the album
Kannte sogar ein Lied, was mich überrascht hat. Hab das Album zur Hälfte gehört, klang einfach wie brit pop punk und stach nicht wirklich raus
Why is this album here? Just absolutely generic.
This hasn't aged well. Was a fan at the time, but hearing it again it feels like that typical Britpop style of throw loads of old (largely seventies) rock bands / tropes against the wall and see what slides down. I guess the juvenile lyrics appealed more when I was a lot younger, too. For teen angst, give me Buzzcocks or The Undertones any day.
This album sounds like those generic rock music that all bands were releasing around the year 2000. I like bands that have their own distinctive sound and it could be that I haven't gotten use to listening to this band but it was overall a bit meh, nothing special.
Didn't click.
First guess: I'm not familiar but will recognize something from this. Sure enough, I was right. Some of it is cool, but it's SO upbeat, it feels sugary. I'm diabetic and I need insulin listening to this.
There is nothing wrong with pop music. If it is just about a good beat and catchy hooks, I can see why this album and group were apparently so popular. Didn't really do much for me though. One listen was enough.
There seems to be an identity crisis with this album. It starts almost like ska with lots of energy but it turns into generic rock with lots of feedback and distortion. Also song structures just dont seem to exist here, which is fine, if the music is good. Supergrass more like Super Ass
I spent the first half wondering why it made the list, then I heard “Alright” and knew this was a one hit wonder album. The sped up song sounded kind of cool but that’s about it. “Alright” is a good song at least
One good song and then some ok ones. High 2
Punk rock for the Britpop crowd. Unfortunately not for me.
Not superimpressed.
It wasnt bad but i probably wouldnt listen to it again.
Glimpses of melody and nothing else.
Drug references and misogyny, while sounding like Beatles and the Rolling Stones
Meeh. Nothing offensive to my ears but nothing that screams must hear
Thought it would be more fun cause Alright is such a banger but was kinda a mess
I liked the 2nd half of the album way better than the 1st. They could have been a very good band if they were not so tied to the screaming punk stuff. The drummer is very good.
Okay
Ik zit niet op een Amerikaanse middelbare school volgens mij
Alright is wel een klassiekert. De rest is mwoah, beetje druk en niet zo'n leuke stem
Sounds like every screamy band from 1995.
It's alright, it's alright, it's alright.
Bleh.
Not really something I would seek out.
Not my jam. The only songs I enjoyed somewhat were Time, Sofa, and Time to go. Pretty good but did not enjoy the rest of the album.
Não se justifica escutar tudo para relembrar o hit.
Not a bad album, but nothing i want to listen to again. Some tracks stand out from the rest but still not for me.
Bit repetitive
I like the tight, up-tempo energy of the band but find the material boring. Didn't listen to the whole album.
Lightweight 90’s britpop
Alright is alright. The rest of this is too noisy for me. They are trying to be punk, but this is closer to frat rock. I really enjoyed the part where it got quiet, once I turned it off.
some good songs, some miserable
I'm not really digging it. It sounds like a group trying to meld punk with 60's beach music (at times). Some songs are listenable, but in general, It's just not working for me.
Maybe it's because of the string of albums that I've drawn this week, but another album that was fine, had a few moments - but nothing I would classify as being an album that I needed to hear before I died... Apparently the Supergrass genre is Britpop/Alternative - but short get-to-the-point songs is what this album contains - which again, was fine - but nothing earthshattering for certain... Best songs IMO were "Lose It" & "Lenny" early in the album, and "Time" & "Sofa Of My Lethargy" near the end of the album... At 6-minutes, "Sofa" is the only one that really stood out as a bit different than the others - plus like that song title - so there's that...
It’s alright.
I find this album… mildly obnoxious. The jam at the end of “Sofa of My Lethargy” is kinda nice though.
Pleasant enough, never heard of them before
It’s fast, but I didn’t like it very much except a few of the final songs like the couch one which had a good vibe. two because I didn’t actively dislike it, just didn’t like it. It’s drummer gets a serious work out playing this live.
Didn’t finish it. Better than some of the other similar albums.
Heavier rock overtone characteristic of the 90s rock bands. The first half of the songs blend together into a nondescript multi-minute punk-twinged sound. Alright, Time, Sofa, and Sitting up Straight are distinctive with some more melodically driven or R&B.
This wave of britrock never grabbed me. It's fine, but I'll never listen to it again.
not my style...
Alright ist wahrscheinlich bekannt. Etwas freundlicher. Mischung zwischen Rock und Pop irgendwie...
Bra spel, inga bra låtar. Hört liknande tidigare
What’s this doing here? Holy hell. Absolute mediocrity.
En jaksanu loppuun asti
i knew the one song, tho am kinda surprised it's from 1995 and not like the early 2000s. the rest of the album was fine. 2.5
Funpunk
Honestly, somewhat forgettable. Might have been my mood but just flew on by
I mean, it's not bad, but besides their superhit, it's rather bland. Feels like early 90s (hard) rock.
Love the Alright song, but only because it's from Clueless. Otherwise would have rated a 1.
Pretty great for what it is. Reminds me of a precursor to artic monkeys and maybe the strokes
Not my style. It's very happy go lucky rock, like what you'd expect from a high school party in a movie from the US.
A little too close to Ska for my tastes, probably suffering from my general dislike for fake English-ish accents on lead vocalists. No doubt this lead is actually English but the die has been cast. Hate it.
Hmm beetje te intens voor mij raakte een beetje overprikkeld. Wel coole nummers I guess
Not really my style
It’s alright.
Not that enjoyable. Another punkish album I don't regret not hearing originally.
A little better than the other britpop albums I've gotten so far but not by a whole lot; there's way too much of it on this list.
I don't "la la la" like this band. The second Supergrass album to cross my path through this practice of listening each weekday to one of the 1001 albums I must hear before I die. It's the second time I wondered to myself, I'd Like to Know: why this band? Send some of their influences my way, please. That is at least what's interesting here. On paper, I ought to like them and yet, I can't get into it. At least this record was shorter than the other I was served. It also seemed peppier overall. Better than the last, I guess. Ok, review over. Time to Go.
Can't say britpop is my favourite genre, but had enough to keep me listening and has the classic "We are Young".
“We Are Young” is alright… but apart from that… meh
Listened Before? N It was ok. More britpop stuff. Not a huge fan but it was better than the other album of theirs that popped up earlier in my list. Added to Library? N Songs added to playlist: Alright
Toss-up between Supergrass' 'Alright' and Kendrick Lamar's 'Alright' between being the most important anthem in 20 years.
the arctic monkeys and beatles had a special baby. strange ones
2.5 An interesting mix of stuff. A bit too poppy overall for my liking.
It was ok
So sure I had been given this album before that I checked my history. It wasn't there. I must have been doing some extracurricular listening. I remember being disappointed. I enjoy some later Supergrass music, but this first album rubbed me the wrong way. So let's give it one more shot and hear what happens...
I probably would’ve enjoyed this more if I’d heard it as a teen. In retrospect a lot of 90s rock seem overrated to me - especially the Brit pop. Even though those were my formative years I have a hard time getting into it now. A terrible head cold might have took a star off.
I remember this band used to get late night rage play in the 90s. I remembered Alright as soon as it played, the rest an unknown. Naturally, this is the 1001 albums list and they're from the UK. It has a 90s alternative meets new wave meets English whimsy vibe. Even the fucking cover is annoying to look at. ew. 2/5.
Not spectacular
This album has 58 dang songs. Three hours long. Cut it up, Supergrass. The song Alright is very famous, and was a good listen. TBH, I only listened to about five other songs and wasn't too impressed.
I enjoyed their album Road to Rouen so I was excited for this...then let down
Punk rock classic. Listen later better.
This album has one song I know and it's otherwise unmemorable
A few cool tunes among them, including Alright, but overall this did not do much for me
Entirely unremarkable. The organ in the first couple songs was kinda cool, where'd that go? And then this Time song shows up, great little blues number. At least something stands out!!!
***Blind First Time Listen*** Never heard of them. Alright was a decent track. The rest was an erratic journey through seemingly a few genres. Parts of songs appealed to me, but just not my style.
Not great, only 1 song I loved
I vaguely recall this band from the 90s but not much beyond their one big US single ("Alright"?) I found it mostly grating and gave up on it mid-listen. Just not my style, maybe too much in the pop direction?
Pass. Not up my alley.
I've listened to a much mellower Gaz Coombes a fair bit over the last year or two, but never realized he led this outfit. Anyway, this LP has a nice punchy post-punk sound, but to me it's 20 years too late. They would pair nicely with The Undertones. I'm deducting a point for the cover.
I like their youthful exuberance - lots of brash energy and they sound like their channeling the Buzzcocks. Alright, is well, alright, but the rest of the album isn't very memorable and doesn't quick stick.
“Energetic” is indeed a good way to describe this album. I was hoping to enjoy it because I really love Gaz Coombes’ solo stuff. This album didn’t really do it for me overall. 2.5 stars
Say what you will about the times we are living in, I’m just grateful to not have been a British teen in the 90s 4/10
It was okay, not sure it belongs on the 1000 best albums list.
I'm not in love with the coco. Forgettable alt rock.
It said on Spotify that Supergrass was "one of the most important bands to emerge during the 1990's" and my question is, why? This isn't anything new or interesting, just more britpop, even if they're talking about commercial success I still don't know where they're coming from, there were so many more important and influential rock bands to emerge during the 90's, in terms of the quality of the record, it's okay. It was a very passive listen from me, I liked one of two songs, but I won't remember this is a couple of hours. 2.5/5
Slightly disappointed that this just seems to fall in the "Britpop" where things seem to be pretty monotonous. I was looking forward to this listen, but happy to move on.
I think this would be okay background bar music, but I didn’t really enjoy actively listening to it. Not super interesting or memorable but some semi-creative moments and nice guitar feedback. 2.5
Heard a lot of the singles before but a lot of the songs were felt the same
I like their magpie-like approach in terms of influence, with a bit of kinks here, but of pink floyd there, but of the lovin’ spoonful and all that. Not sure it all gels though - I think this was an album of early promise rather than a classic. They got more interesting and assured later on. Some great songs on here though, but mainly the singles: Strange Ones, Alright, Caught by the Fuzz.
I feel like I'm listening to a teenage garage punk band, very raw and shouty. A couple of catchy songs, but couldn't get into most of the songs.
Nerviger Punk mit Einfluss X
It's alright, doesn't seem like anything particularly special to me though.
Not for me, I’m afraid. The good: Mansize Rooster, Alright (though it’s firmly planted in my brain as an “advert” song), Lose It The bad: Caught by the fuzz, I’d Like to know The meh: Everything else 2/5
i think I like britpop more than I thought, interesting tangent to explore
Supergrass produced some absolutely solid singles which can be found at the beginning of the album, but the later half of the album didn't quite hold up as well as the first half.
90s nostalgia
Thirty years ago. Relieved of the responsibility of aging gracefully from the start, giving that it was conceived in pretty juvenile circs in the first place.
Kinda hanging it’s hat on the one hit song
Very 90s. I liked. Discovered a hit with Alright! Will listen again but maybe not recommend
Definitely my kind of music. Need to hear more of it. For sure. 2/5.
Tommonen perusrallittelu
Tiene una buena ¿no?
Lang verhaal kort; ik was hier niet klaar voor.
Tracks all blended together and nothing stood out as a great single.
This list is really testing my assumed affection for Britpop. There's an obvious youthful energy on this record, expressed most positively on the first side. But while the band produces some nice pop-punk, it's an uncompelling pop fusion. The second half gets different and not in a good way. Instead, I'm left confused why this is on the list. Definite listen-once-as-it-comes-out material.
I bet Louis would like this one
dont like thuis british rock
Not my cup of tea
Kind of boring. It can sound like the Foo Fighters or the Beatles, but overall if feels pretty dull.
Occasionally entertaining but mostly unmemorable and juvenile witterings; the band would improve with experience.
Me pareció muy básico. Con un tema muy conocido, pero lo demás poco destacable. La canción al estilo ardillitas totalmente innecesaria.
Average
Not a big fan of punk-rock. 2.5/5
I didn't really enjoy this album that much. Some songs were alright. The song Alright was the highlight of this album, I love that song. That's the only reason why this album is getting a 2/5 stars.
Britheadz
Another painfully average album from another one hit wonder band. I like the feel of it in places but in others it just feels like hot mess. The only single on it, Alright, is pretty self describing. I quite liked Time and Sofa Of My Lethargy wouldn’t be out of place on a Blur album. Overall, very average and doesn’t inspire me to listen twice.
OK for what it is, but not my style. Not enough variety in the songs.
Not up my alley. I actually stopped listening about halfway through to go listen to Crime of the Century and Deja Vu instead, both of which I easily listened the whole way through.
A few bops here and there but nothing I would go back to
Glam 90’s alt
Nothing special. 5/10
Another "fine" album. the hit, "Alright" is good. Seems like the group was more or less a one hit wonder. On Spotify, "alright" has 170 million plays, the next highest is only 13 million.
Eh.
Not what I was expecting from a band named Supergrass but okay album. Was inclined to turn it off half way through but listened on and it was okay... 90s britpop per wikipedia
paia
Nothing special...
Has not aged well. Punk feels more like an aesthetic for pretentious art boys rather than a real expression of emotion. Musically, it's all over the place
didn't really like them then, haven't changed that much now - a bit like Green Day
Trop British punk, on entend rien Quelques musiques sympas quand même
Não deveria estar na lista
This is too much for me
buns
Álbum legal até, mas n achei tudo isso.
This just sucks. I hate this type of music. Just dude shit. Fuck all this type of music. I don’t even care. I mean I know there’s gonna be more of it coming cause this is what’s coming down the shoot but I sure as hell learn to hate it even more.
4/13 Punk music just sounds the same to me. Very boring and bland
Had a Sex Pistols meets The Clash vibe. Not bad.
Muy rock arriba, las voces no me gustan
Yikes
Oooof. I listened all the way through, and I feel like I deserve a medal for doing it.
being honest i dont like the voice wtf
Couple of good tunes on here but I don't get why anyone would say you have to hear this before you die.
Not a fan. Wasn’t drawn in by the music, almost did not finish. Favorite Song: Alright Ideal listening situation: Tony Hawk Pro Skater Would I listen Again?: Nope
I liked it for its nostalgia and I’d listen to one or two on their own, but as an album it all blurs together a bit too much
I didn’t finish it :( it didn’t start bad i just couldn’t put my head into it
goddamn impressive, not a listenable second on this
1. knouu - 1 2. fuzz - 1 3. roozter - 0 4. alright - 2 5. loze - 1.5 6. lenny - 1.5 7. ztrange -1 8. ztraight -0 9. looze -1.5 10. zuppozed - 0 11. time - 1.5 12. zofa - 1 13. Go -
no clou
Well I figured out who sang the Frosted mini-wheats and Enbrel commercial song. Outside of "Alright" it doesn't really stand out to much for me; very loud.
nah
Annoying music for clowns
Can't sing? Run your voice through a distortion filter. Can't play? Just bang out some basic staccato chords in a rhythmic pattern. Can't write anything meaningful to say? Just string together some generic lyrics about young love and teenage angst or some such. Now you got the recipe for Superass.
The 20th Anniversary edition on Spotify just might make this the longest album ever! Not a huge fan, so I should go!
Yeah nah. Just not in the mood right now for all this energy
not a fan
The album is good, but the songs feel a bit repetitive and sometimes even noisy in a way that doesn’t work for me. It’s not the kind of album I can start my day with or put on when I just want to listen to music.
Not my thing. Fast forwarded through every song. Sounds like they are one type of band that made pop songs to generate revenue.
Lots of energy in this album!
Not a big fan of alternative rock. I just didn't connect.
I didn’t like Supergrass when they were desperately trying to be part of Britpop in the 90s. Not helped by ‘Alright’ being played on every radio station, which wasn’t many back then, on repeat. There youthful energy annoyed me, their voices annoyed me and Gaz Coombes sideburns annoyed me. Nothing has changed. I still don’t like them and am surprised by the average rating and the number of 4&5 star reviews for this. Solid 2 for me. It’s not Metallica levels of shit, but it’s close.
Terrible. Messy. No.
Too much circus energy. The cover of this album is annoying
Things I was doing in 1995. Bringing up children. Working my arse off to house, feed, pay bills for all of us. Put up with my my lazy arsed partner who did fuck all to help, except shout abuse. It was a few years before I finally left them. What I did not do was listen to this absolute pile of horse shit.
None for me, thanks
Mediocre everything. Who do they even want to be?
Nothing here for me.
Stop yelling
No
Not for me. 1/5
Not bad alternative band/music.
Not a fan
woo woo wooo.. yeah eyah yeah... valittu listalle yhden populääribiisin takia, album on muun muassa: paska. spectaclural so ecltetcic,.niin paljon personaallisuutta omg eklektkinen. I bet Louis would like this one. parhainmillaan tämä on ärsyttävä, hyuonoinmillaan tämä on erittäin ärsyttävä. ei mitään miten ei voi tämän takia evoluuti = aei parempi, koska aikasempi musiikki PAREM'p'i'... tämä muuttunut ja homompi.. = mitä vittua? mutta myöhäsiempi musiikki myös parempi... älä enää koskaan tee noin... pois tämä silmieni edestä. ole hyvä ja poistu lisäksi älä koskaan tule takaisin.. mitään asiaa semmoiselle alright
I dont like it i give it 1 out 5. Because the cover art is ugly and dont understand the lyircs at all. Also isnt my type of music I dont like instruments. I dont recommend it.

Worst britpop I’ve ever heard. So disorganized and bland. I need to listen to pulp to cleanse my palate
not a fan, not my type of music. supergrass does have a track (NOT the one on this album that was in heaaaavy rotation for ages on the radio back in the day) called Movin' from another album that I really like, but only half of it : )
Not a fan. I did not put energy into listening Setting: Home; WFH
british. vocalist. the worst kind too these guys have to be the least creative artist on here so far. they're a pretty generic blend of that 90s era punk-influenced british rock with distorted guitar, distorted vocals, washed out drums and bass that's way too loud for how boring and repetitive it is. the only good part of this album is that sometimes the vocalist sounds a little like bowie but then he fucks it up and sounds like another generic annoying british vocalist fuck this album this is literally a 1 hit wonder band. they are on here because they had a big hit in england. i am going to kill this author and all other british people.
I'm genuinely concerned for the well-being of children who were brought up in an environment where they were exposed to parents who were a fan of this. We're not supposed to is particularly egregious. Strange ones and time to go are the least painful to get through the latter only cause they're singing about the album ending. I don't like the way the guy on the left is looking at me. Fuck this was bad 2/10
2/10…und das nur wegen des einen bekannten Songs. Ansonsten grauenhaft
My thumb got sore from skipping tracks. 1 star. “No studio for you. Come back in one year!” Soup Nazi
Tbc
Only Alright and We are not supposed to stood out, rest of the album is the same sounding pile of dogshit
nothing interesting
Gear: DCA ÆON 2 Noire Mix: 🙎♂️ Musik: Britpop. 🙎♂️ Wertung: 🙎♂️(🙎♂️)/5 (inkl. +1 für "Alright")
Can see why it may be influential but can't help wonder what didn't make the list to make room for this album
Nope, not my jam!
Awful
Sing-song rock ‘n’ roll – ‘Beatlesque’
Meh
Would Not open up.
Surprised how much I liked it - maybe because I listened after the Buzzcocks, and anything sound great in comparison to them.
This gets one star because I could barely get through one listening of the album and hope I never have to again. With the exception of “Time” every song pretty much sounded the same. I think that is because they are not very good on their selected instruments. Even their lead singer was lame. He has about a five note range and mostly yells into the mic. Terrible
Yes another britpop album. Doesnt sound too offensive, but definitely not significant whatsoever. No one will miss out if they dont check it out. I dont rate album covers, because usually they are passable or good, but I gotta say, this is one ugly fucking cover. Might have been a 2, but -1 for cover xd. Significant 22/60 Liked 9/60 Added 2/60 NNN I Should Coco? More like I Will Cocommit unaliving if I have to listen to them again.
No
Another “did not finish” album
One hit wonder "Alright". British band, didn't love the sound.
Don't like English people
Also not it
I don’t have the energy to wade through this
cringe, as for me
No es para mi
Good
I don't think that 90s rock is going to age that well They often mare good examples of straight ahead rock music, but they also often aren't that INTERESTING This is pretty fun pop punk, but I imagine that if you didn't group up with it that it won't have a ton of staying power None of that isn't to say that this isn't good music. I really enjoy it for what it is. There's a soft spot in my heart for this kind of "three people in a bedroom making music" approach.
