Reviews (page 3 of 13)

Fuck yeah, first foo fighters album! Best one of their entire career if you ask me!

Very impressive album given Dave doing it so quickly after Kurt's death and doing it all himself. He's the real deal and seems like a good, down-to-Earth person. "Big Me" was my favorite. 9/10.

I had only heard one track of theirs before this. This is totally my scene. Definitely coming back to this one again

Good times

Album 203 of 1001 Foo Fighters - Foo Fighters Rating : 5 / 5 I like Dave Grohl. I like this album. Not really anything here to dislike, at all. Even at the first listen, it seems like one I've been enjoying for many years. Just like his style. I'm getting quite liberal with my ratings. Just some artists that I want represented in my tops list when I'm finished here.

this album is a great nostalgic blanket i love to wrap myself in, and such a great sign of things to come

I never really understood the love for the Foo Fighters. Don’t get me wrong, I like some of their music and Dave Grohl seems like a super nice guy, but they always seemed overhyped to me. When I was in school everybody loved The Pretender, and I found it quite annoying. I loved Monkey Wrench on Guitar Hero though. Songs I already knew: none Favourites: This Is A Call, Alone + Easy Target, For All The Cows This was very easily my favourite Foos album that I’ve heard in full. I love how dynamic it is - there are parts that feel punk, grunge, and even softer rock and it all comes together so nicely. It’s also worth noting that big Dave played every instrument for this album himself which is an amazing feat. I did also enjoy how, although I’m not the biggest fan of the newer stuff, this was still undeniably Foos. They may have changed a little over the years, but they do still have some root sounds.

Mycket mycket bra. Speciellt för en debut.

I'd fight some foos.

Dave grohl MMMMMM

Muito bom. Radiscal.

Ways of Seeing and Hearing. Chewy goodness, yeah they *ARE* the 90s, along with the seattle grunge of Nirvana, and Well, you know, there's a album cover to like. it ws a t shirt for the decade. sign signified and signifier - a Magic Marker in the lower cockles of my uni brain. My Synapses enjoyed hte openign bar and then the joy of the messy twangy grunge. I cant help but call it good, wholesome 90s propulsive fun that , unlike many studio albums sounds like its live at a summer outdoor event with a bit of sweat and dust and sun kissed skin.

No.1 after Nirvana

Never really followed Foo Fighters that closely, all my knowledge of them is based on what I've heard on the radio. I don't think I've heard any of the songs here before, and considering how much Foo Fighters you hear on the radio this surprises me. I enjoyed this though! It's just some high-energy 90s alternative. However, the backstory is what makes this one worthy of a spot on this list. I don't necessarily know if musically it's that innovative compared to other rock acts at the time, but it's ridiculously impressive due to the fact that Foo Fighters was a one-man band on it's debut. With the exception of an additional guitarist on X-Static, this whole album was written and recorded by only Grohl. His status as an masterful multi-instrumentalist is without question. Overall, it's an excellent grunge album that gets even better once you know the story behind it. Favourite: Wattershed

The Foo Fighters are one of my favorite bands. To hear the FF sound in what was basically a Dave Grohl solo album, made before the FF existed, is a testament to Dave's talent and musical influence. This is not the Foo Fighters' best album but can see how this paved the way for the band's growth and future popularity. If I am being honest with you, I would probably give this album at 4 on my normal rating scale but am going to bump it up to a 5 because I think this is the only FF album on this 1001 list.

Another one of my favorites. Just amazing. Dave Grohl is so talented to play all parts then get a band together.

The Foo Fighters hold a very special place in my heart, so I apologize in advance for the dissertation that's incoming. My first exposure to the Foo Fighters' music was through the Weird Al polka medley on his Bad Hair Day album, where he featured "I'll Stick Around." Over the years, I probably heard some of their songs, but never realized who the artist was. In the spring semester of my senior year of high school, I heard an advertisement on the local alternative rock radio station that the Foo Fighters were coming to town. I'd heard some of the tracks off of their new album, One by One, so I decided to buy a ticket and go to my first adult concert. I paid $35 for a floor ticket at Reliant Arena, and on the night of the show, I was about fifty feet from the stage. I still can't believe that my parents let me drive all the way from our suburban neighborhood to the show, during evening rush hour traffic. I had an amazing time at the show, and from that point forward, the Foo Fighters were 'my band,' and I spent the next several years listening to them religiously. I'd buy their new albums the day they came out, and I spent a lot of time listening to this album, The Color and The Shape, There Is Nothing Left to Lose, and One by One as well. In 2009, I was lucky enough to see Them Crooked Vultures at ACL, and it was an absolute treat to see Dave play drums live. But in the early 2010's, I stopped listening to them as much. It's not because I hated them, but their music just wasn't really what I wanted to listen to anymore. I'd still count Dave Grohl as one of my favorite musicians though; I read his memoir late last year, and I absolutely loved it. I think Dave is a genuinely great human being, and I hold him in very high regards. Now, on to my review of the actual album at hand... I haven't listened to this album in years, but I loved it at my first listen, and I still love it today. I'm still blown away that Dave Grohl pretty much recorded this album completely on his own. The drumming is outstanding on every track; whether it's an intense sound like on "I'll Stick Around," or something slower and more melodic like "Big Me," Dave put together the perfect percussion. The guitar playing and vocals aren't anything stellar, but they don't need to be. Dave Grohl knows his strengths as a musician, and he lets the drumming steal the show. My favorite songs on the album are the first four tracks, but the album is still great all the way through. In an era where a lot of radio rock blended together, Dave Grohl really created something special and unique with this album. Culturally, this album would end up being a milestone in the history of popular music. If Dave Grohl hadn't made this album, perhaps he would have joined Danzig or Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, and we would never have had what turned out to be one of the biggest rock bands of the last quarter of a century. This album is absolutely fantastic, and a must-listen for any fan of rock music. PS: If you get the chance, I highly recommend the Foo Fighters' newest album, Here We Are. It's beautiful and heartbreaking at times, and in my opinion, their best work this century.

love me some Dave Grohl

Can't go wrong with the Foo Fighters.

Every song in this album is memorable, amazing that Dave wrote them himself.

How can I give anything less than 5 stars? First of all, it’s Dave Grohls 1st album as Foo Fighters. It was his classic Foo Fighters sound. It’s wild how much he can do with his legendary sound and voice. I want to give this album 2-3 more listens and update here. Love it

Great album. Never got into them before but will be after this, really enjoyed it.

Flawless as an album, and interesting as the building blocks for the towering behemoth that the Foos became

I cant rate anything but a 5. Respect for recording every instrument and writing each song. Dave Grohl just rocks!

I bought this on tape a very long time ago. Forgot some of the songs and they were really good. Also great to be reminded that Dave did every single thing on this album himself! Because of this it's 5 stars.

Love the foo fighters!!

This album carries so much nostalgia for me that I cannot give it any less than a five. Foo fighters has been a family favorite since I was born.

Foo Fighters have always been incredible. Came outta the gate swinging.

yes yes yes yes. This a call is such an amazing intro to what this will be. Every song rocks.

This many gooders on a first album, of course they were going places

I honestly hate how little I have to say about this album, to think after Kurt Cobain’s passing, Dave Grohl had all this material for Nirvana lined up and he recorded all the songs and did all the instrumentals himself to release under a new name ‘Foo Fighters’ is astonishing to me, going from a drummer to a one man band even for a small amount of time is impressive and to create a record like this is even better. Due to the timing of this album it is very reminiscent of prime Nirvana and I’m so here for it, every song just encapsulates that grunge feel so well and even Dave on vocal’s actually suits the music really well. I also like how he incorporated a slower song in there as well in the form of ‘Big Me’, which makes me think I could’ve easily taken another 2 more slower songs on this album and I probably would’ve loved them. As I said I don’t have a lot more to say about this album I just love it, there’s raw energy, there’s a story behind it and in your face is a handful of great songs, I just can’t fault it. Props to Dave Grohl for the effort he put in here as it paid off.

DG says “It was really just an experiment”. A really GREAT experiment!!!! I became a HUGE FF’s fan when I bought “The Colour and the Shape” album CD. I then sought out older music and really liked this album and that took my fandom to another level.

I am very happy with today's album selection. I am a big Foo Fighters fan, and especially a Dave Grohl fan. The dude is super talented. Everything he touches is gold. He was with Nirvana before starting Foo Fighters. After Kurt Cobain committed suicide, Dave created Foo Fighters as a way of healing from the loss of a bandmate and good friend. This album was written and recorded entirely by Dave, with the help of a producer friend of his. He distributed the cassette to good friends, who spread it around, and it eventually caught the attention of a record label. Once he signed with them, he hired a band to tour with him to promote the album, and the rest is history. A few years back, Dave decided to try his hand, first at disco, creating a band called the Dee Gees and releasing an album with them. Then he decided to make a satirical horror movie(Studio 666), and write the whole score for the movie himself. This involved creating a death metal band called Dream Widow. Both his disco record, and death metal album were phenomenal. Not many people can genre hop like that. That takes real talent to do. Not only that, but for those records, he played each instrument himself plus sang. Just an insane talent all around. Dave is also a very humble individual. There is a famous story of him falling off stage at a concert, breaking his leg, going out back, getting it casted, then coming back out and finishing the show. He also gets fans up on stage to play music with the band quite often. After the recent death of Foo Fighters drummer, Taylor Hawkins, the band did a tribute concert in Taylor's memory. Dave got Taylor's son up on stage to play a song with the band in his father's honor. Anyways, back to today's album. It is absolute gold, especially for a debut album. Not a dud in the lot. I've heard it many times before, and I will absolutely listen again. RIP Taylor Hawkins. Favorite songs: Alone + Easy Target, Big Me, Weenie Beenie, Watershed, Good Grief, I'll Stick Around, For All The Cows, I'll Stick Around Least favorite songs: if forced to pick, This is a Call 5/5

Bloody love the Foo Fighters. Easy 5 stars.

Sommige nummers wat onstuimig maar het is de achtergrond informatie die het voor mij doet.

Foo Fighters is just as a remember. Fantastic

finally a album on this list that i am already familiar with, and i love this one soo much

Some schoolmates and I once went on a joy ride during high school one summer night and discussed our favourite music. Apparently at one point I said “well everyone loves a bit of Foo Fighters” It’s refreshing to hear this album again after so long, especially looking back from 2023 where most music is so digital and heavily edited and sampled, to get that usable TikTok soundbite. Basically a Dave Grohl vehicle (he played all the instruments) it’s quite stripped down in a way that’s understandable as someone coming from a 3 piece grunge band. It has the same ingredients to Nirvana (loud distorted guitars, pounding drums, quiet loud structure) yet so different, decidedly sunnier and more pop. Still, it’s got that charming rough around the edges and a bit more raw compared to the stadium rock polish they would be so famous in later albums. What I noticed this time is how the vocals are a little bit buried in the mix. I forgot how much I used to enjoy just lying back and letting a wall of crunchy distorted guitar and loud drums wash over me. Steak and potato rock for sure, but nothing wrong with that.

This album has been in my life since 1995 and I have such great memories with it. I love every track. It’s probably the only Foo Fighters album that I do love actually.

This album is amaaazzinnngg, I fucking loved it. I love Foo Fighters and was super excited when this album came up. I actually hadn't heard any songs from this album before, until now. The often raw and emotional lyrics are so good and I'm a sucker for good grunge music. This is now one of my favorite albums for sure.

Many a night was spent listening to this gem, making you feel the angst of a still mourning Dave Grohl on his new pet project. I instantly fell in love and it's an affair that has lasted about half my life and will endure as one of the all time greatest albums. I can't name a favourite song as the songs belong in place as a whole, any removal or piecemeal consumption would create diminishment.

Might bey favourite Foo's album

Absolute favourite!

Klassiker, schön aggressiv und düster mit ruhigen Zwischentönen

Love this band, their attitudes and their music.

me <3 foo fighters... Dik album ook.

Topalbum, valt niet zo op tussen wat ze nog meer hebben gemaakt maar dat is onterecht.

Foo fighters feels so dad rock to me. Some of their stuff hits but it's rare that I ever find an album that I really enjoy the whole way...until now, this feels edgier and harder than their later stuff, plus no "hits"

Hard to believe, I'm sure, but I've never actually ever listened to a Foo Fighters album from start to finish. I like them. I never listen to them unless they happen to come on on the radio or other medium. This is not to say I don't like them, because I do. Quite a lot actually. This album is no exception. They're just never a go to for me. But yes, I definitely like the Fighters of Foo.

Dave grohl on the vocals… drums… guitar… bass. I wonder if he wrote with the foresight of others playing the parts. Some unreal guitar riffs from left field. A cracking album and one of my favourite bands. He just yelled too much in later years.

I am always in awe of Dave Grohl whenever I listen to this record. His drive as a drummer and multi-instrumentalist continues to blow me away every time I hear it. The fact that one guy wears all the hats on this record baffles me. And, even more, he was just doing it for kicks, for fun. It was an experiment for him. He never considered the magnitude or the power of his musicianship when he wrote, recorded, and released it. This album is one of my favorites. Despite still grieving the loss of his friend and frontman, Kurt Cobain, he still manages to absolutely knock it out of the park with every single track. For obvious reasons, his gift as a drummer really comes through, but when you consider that he taught himself to completely shred guitar, bass, and, on top of that, sing like the badass he is, the record glows even brighter. The context surrounding this album makes it all the more astonishing: He’s in his twenties, left the biggest band of the decade after he lost one of his closest friends to suicide. He combats all of this by putting out a total rock masterpiece all by himself which eventually leads to another success story. His momentum and speed has, and probably will never, fade in time. He has a sense of urgency like no other musician I know, really. It breaks my heart that he’s lost yet another friend and band mate recently with the passing of Taylor Hawkins, but if his-story and history have taught us anything, there will be yet another revival and recharge of Dave Grohl. His next move, next record, and next era will be his greatest yet. I don’t see this man slowing down anytime soon. He will push and push until there’s nothing left. Here’s to the next golden age of Grohl because, let’s face it, it’s all gold.

After Cobain's death, Grohl considered giving music away all together. Instead he went into a studio and recorded this, all the instruments and vocals and we're all very glad he did

Foo Fighters are like the Aerosmith of our generation. They just keep coming back when they're no longer needed. The band literally contradicts the era we live in but somehow still has a place. I suppose it doesn't hurt to be an all around nice guy that everyone seems to love. Looking back on this release, it was barely a year after Cobain's death when this album was all over the airwaves. I remember thinking that it would be crap capitalizing on Nirvana successes. KROQ played the shit outta this album. I tried hard not to like it, but then I saw the Mentos video. It was so strangely absurd and fun and basically the antithesis of what Nirvana's sad and angst-y music was. Still on, nearly 30 years later, there are some great tracks on this album that still rock. Highlights include Good Grief, Alone ... and Exhausted. All Looking forward to seeing these guys someday ... RIP TH.

In 1995, no one would have guessed that Dave Grohl had this in him. But his essentially solo debut with "Foo Fighters" began a journey that would that would quickly step out of Nirvana's shadow. "This is a Call" and "I'll Stick Around" pack an incredible one-two punch to open the album, and Grohl never lets off the gas. After recording it himself, Grohl would fill out the Foo Fighters with old friends and future legends (RIP Taylor Hawkins). And I do think this is the right call for Foo on the list. "Colour and Shape" may have some mega hits in "My Hero" and "Everlong," but it also marked a slight shift to an epic arena rock style that they too rarely deviated from (notable exception for the second acoustic disc of "In Your Honour"). With the appreciation Grohl clearly has for the history and diversity of music (see his HBO docuseries "Sonic Highways"), it's too bad that more variety doesn't bleed into his music.

The music on this album is thoroughly impressive. It blows my mind that Dave Grohl wrote all the parts, played every instrument, and sang all the vocals. Dave’s a kick ass drummer and a pretty decent professional guitar player and vocalist. He’s a rock music renaissance man. Overall, it shows that Dave spent little time writing the lyrics. They can be a bit repetitive (Big Me) and hard to understand their meaning (This Is A Call, the whole “minicyn” verse). If I had to pick a weak link, it would be X-Static. With the subdued verses, it feels like a song that should kick in with a high energy chorus like the preceding For All The Cows. No matter my minor complaints, this album is a revelation. It’s unfortunate that only one Foo Fighters album is on the list. And they got the wrong one. Clearly the one Foo Fighters album should be The Colour And The Shape. It also kicks ass, but in a more musically mature way. If I’m in a Foo Fighters mood, The Colour And The Shape is always my album of choice.

Amazing

This honestly felt like a bit of classic Foo Fighters sound and a bit of classic Nirvana sound. Which makes sense, since this was Daves first album since Nirvana, and it sure sounds like it. Never deep dove this deep into Foo lore, but i do like it. Very good listen.

Such a great transition from Nirvana for Dave Grohl

This album and band are amazing. Good Grief is by far my favorite song on the album.

This is the first band I’m VERY familiar with. Absolutely love Foo Fighters. Awesome to listen through the origins here. Dave Grohl is a genius and has been slapping since the beginning. So many bangers in here for me.

Sve šta dad rock želi bit, al nikad neće.

Awesome

Long story short, I really enjoyed this album. It felt like Grohl took the attitude of Nirvana, mixed in a healthy dose of straight up metal, and then cranked the tempo up several notches. The result is an album that comes out of the gate hard and never lets up. Even the "slow jam" on the album ("For All The Cows") has an absolute buzzsaw of a chorus. The album is jagged and sharp and merciless from beginning to end and I'm here for it. This album is really the beginning of Grohl's ascendance from rock royalty to a legit rock god.

I've always wondered but never really looked into the beginnings of Foo Fighters and it was an interesting read thanks to this list. Certainly this album took me by surprise and I look forward to putting it on high rotation. Fave: For All the Cows

Awesome

Holds up well. Good album

Cool! Eigenlijk beter dan al het latere werk.

i LOVE IT

This is probably a 4 star album, but I have so much nostalgic love for it, and the countless times I played it i my car in high school and college that I have to give it a 5.

It’s dumb to have ever wished for the Foo Fighters to sound like this forever, but I really wish they sounded like this for more than they did

One of my all time fave albums. Awesome.

A classic! I think there are better Foos albums that aren't on this list, but what a banger.

I think this album transitioned music in the 90s from everyone jumping on the grunge train to the new alternative/mainstream rock path.

Amazing that a single musician could make the sound of a generation.

Great debut album.

Amazing!!

Classic. Great sound

Dave Grohl is a ROCK GOD!!!

I’ve listened to a lot of Foo Fighters, but never really went into this early stuff. I’m surprised by how much they sounded like Nirvana. Really solid rock songs throughout

Brilliant album. Not a song I dislike on the album. "For all the Cows" is fantastic in my opinion.

Who let Ringo loose in the studio? Best Tracks: This is a Call; Big Me; Alone + Easy Target

Damnit. Is this classic rock?? It’s still a slam-dunk 5 stars but does it have to be that long ago? Damnit.

I don't love every song on this record, but the ones I love, I love an awful lot. These are hard rock songs with singable and often beautiful melodies. I'll Stick Around and For All the Cows are two of my favorite FF songs. I also like Good Grief, Floaty, and This is a Call. Before today, I'd never heard how this album was recorded and now my mind is blown. This is all just Dave? Whoa.

Hadn't listened to this for years as I was never a huge fan so had forgotten just how good it actually is.

How can you not love the Foo's This album coming out a year after the loss of KC and essentially being a solo effort is incredible.

New to me, but the Foo Fighters are always welcome :D Starts off very rocky. Songs seem to seamlessly blend into one another.

Foo foo foo

Classic

Great album

pure gold

Classic.

Un clasico del rock

Loved it!!! One of the songs started off like a nirvana sound which I liked too. Will definitely listen to this one again.

Amazing rock album! Couldn't stop replaying it for hours! "Debut studio album by American rock band Foo Fighters released in 1995. Dave Grohl wrote and recorded the entire album himself, apart from a guest guitar spot by Greg Dulli, with the assistance of producer Barrett Jones at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle, Washington, in 1994. He claimed that he recorded the album just for fun, describing it as a cathartic experience to recover from the death of Nirvana bandmate Kurt Cobain."

Un clásico. Con el volvió un poco la esperanza de que Nirvana no había muerto completamente.

Really got a kick out of this! When I was younger i actually liked the Foo Fighters a lot more than Nirvana. Love Grohl and his sound. So cool that this was essentially a solo project he re-labeled so it wouldn't just get big off post-nirvana name recognition. || Listened to a lot of other Foo, but never much of this album - lots of deep cuts with a heavy, distorted grunge that I can get behind. Good work, Dave.

Very Foo Fighters. Dave Grohl pinning down the sound.

Quizás exagero un poco...

classic debut rock from clearly non-debut stock

FUCK YES!

Foo Fighters - твёрдое 5!

Glad I’m relistening to it. I’ve always enjoyed the later Foos albums and was never huge into this one, so it’s cool to revisit it. Forgot how killer some of the riffs are on this one. The songs are all unique and diverse but still pretty killer. Lyrics aren’t the best or most powerful. Some duds but who cares, it’s the Foos

Crazy that after years of listening to Foo Fighters I've never listened to this album. It sets a really strong consistency for their sound and throughout the years it's always been their fingerprint

I was given this CD as a kid. Probably one of the first CDs I ever had and the only one I was given where nobody could really tell me what song was the big hit. So I'm not sure I ventured much past "This Is A Call", "I'll Stick Around", and "Big Me" as a kid.

Super solid album by Mr Grohl himself.

Yes! Absolutely amazing! I loved this album. Bangers!

I only like the first 2 FF albums. Probably a time in life because everything since them i really can't stand them (too formulaic). These first two are pretty cool.

I remember when this came out, singing "fingernails are pretty, fingernails are good" in a green Nissan Sentra, owned by my best friend's older brother. Big memories here. There are a pretty good handful of tracks on this I don't remember at all. Floaty and For All the Cows are a couple of those, and that's unfortunate; I quite like them and could have been listening all along. I honestly don't think I have sat down with this album in its entirety since I was a teenager. I never would have thought it back then, but some 30 years later, I'd be at a Foo Fighters show, listening to what I guess you'd call "our song" with my wife, trying to sing along with a huge lump in my throat and just crying instead. I get all emotional about music, and this moment was maybe the peak of that phenomenon. Who would have thought this album would lead to that? Great memories on this disc, and following albums...

Not available on Apple Music

First time hearing this one by them. And I feel like I slept on it. Did not realize it’s basically a Grohl solo album. This rocked. Not as good as Color and Shape though. 4/5

Great start for Dave Grohl that started a career and band that outshone his work in Nirvana. I like Colour and the Shape better, but this was a great debut for a great band.

I haven't really been impressed with much Foo Fighters music in the past, but I ended up liking this a lot. This was their first album after Kurt Cobain's death, when the band was more of a Dave Grohl solo vehicle than an actual band, and there's an element of him tinkering with the sound to see what works for him that makes this a very charming listen. This retains the heaviness of the grunge sound, but adds some shoegazy reverb and more poppy melodic structures in a way that feels very predictive of the direction rock would be headed in the 2000s. Grohl isn't the greatest songwriter ever, but he knows his way around a good hook and has a lot of charisma, and the dense and slightly lo-fi production manages to pick up the rest of the slack. He does a fairly good job playing most of the instruments, but of course the drums stick out the most, providing the necessary aggression to keep the energy up across the runtime.

Somehow I completely missed out on Foo Fighters. I had brushed them off as Nirvana-lite or I was listening to other stuff at the time but I never listened to their albums in the 90's. Now, this album sounds great to me and is right in my wheelhouse. Weird how that works. Just the first 3 songs alone make it 4 stars for me and conjures melodic grunge utopia (if not Nirvana). And the fact that Grohl did it all himself is even more impressive.

Meget sterkt debut album , hører mye av nirvana i det her og synes albumet speiler tiden det ble gitt ut godt! Nostalgisk!

Big Me has some Beatles vibes to it. Lot of healing in this album. No standouts like other Foo songs but the whole amalgamates? I'm looking for a word. It gels as a collective. 4. Would 100% listen tip to tail with a drink remembering Kurt and loving Dave.

This only pales in comparison to his previous band, but it’s a solid album with good pop rock tunes.

Dave Grohl is a legend. This is a call to all the millennials that grew up with the Fooey's. I see you there! Honestly not my favourite Foo Fighters album (the colour and the shape is mine) but they're a terrific band and it was great to see Grohl move on from Nirvana after the tragedy of Cobain and come up with such a classic sound. They haven't had to change it for 30 years! The good songs off this album are excellent, but there's also a few filler tracks. ****

This one's a little weird to rate. A lot of these songs good. But I've also heard them on the radio a LOT. I think I used to own this CD. But I think it was this overexposure that eventually convinced me to offload it. Best tracks: 1, 3, 5; still pretty good: 2, 6. 4 starts good, but then gets less interesting. 8's good, too. The last few songs seemed a bit lower quality, though not bad. Foo Fighters are a little like bands like Blue Oyster Cult (or, I suppose, Nirvana) in being hard/heavy rock (at times), but also melodic, and also mixing things up, musically, in terms of tempo and mood, etc. (I'm assuming you know that leader/drummer/singer Dave Grohl was the drummer in Nirvana- actually, I just learned that he did this album pretty much entirely by himself, in 6 day in October 1994, kind of in reaction to/to deal with Kurt Cobain's suicide, earlier that year.) Anyway, I think this one deserves at least a (low) 4. But I suppose a 3 vote is reasonable, too. You guys'll prolly give it a 2, lol. Love ya! P.S. I listened again to tracks 9-12, and liked 'em (11 less so) a bit better, so feel a bit more secure with my 4 vote.

Way to start a band!

Remember listening to this as a kid.

A classic 90s alternative album. Some great moments on here.

Debut power-pop solo record by Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl who plays all instruments here but would recruit other members for a proper band later on. Recording sounds almost demo-level, but that just adds to its charm. Lots of good ideas and plenty of poppy rock riffs and melodies but also some complex and unique Cobain-esque chord progressions as well. Front-loaded with the singles "This Is a Call", "I'll Stick Around", and "Big Me".

Great album, band, and live show.

A great Grohl DIY project

Listening to this one through one headphone because the other decided not to charge - despite that, this is slapping! Overall, i enjoyed but probably wouldn’t put on myself - it’s not the sort of music i choose to listen to often

Rate: 8.5/10.

pretty nice. exactly what you would expect it to be but ends up being better than you think it would be

A very solid rock album. I personally would have included some later work by Foo Fighters instead of the debut, but this is a good album too. I'll Stick Around has always been among my favourites.

have you ever heard of this little underground band called Foo Fighters? and it's actually just this one guy! (well, at least for this album)

Pretty good even with none of the hits on it

Jeg savner tiden når Foo Fighters var kul. Rufsete og fengende.

Imponerende debutplate. Savner litt av Nirvana-mørket, men det forsvant vel med Cobain.

tbh nie sluchalqm jakos intesywnie ale git

Geweldige debuutplaat

Amazing debut, even though Dave had been in several bands by this stage. Plenty of good songs to choose from here, the first 4 songs are all definitely winners. After that is a bit more uneven, as you might expect for something that Grohl cooked up in his spare time around the aftermath of the end of Nirvana. Just short of 5 stars due to the less impressive 2nd half of the record, but nevertheless very good.

4/5 Favorite Song: Weenie Beenie

Não é o melhor álbum, mas é bom

Forgot how good this album was! Not a bad song on it. Grungy Foo’s is a million times better than any of the dad rock shit they are doing nowadays

Good album, though Foos have 3 or 4 better albums. Think this is on here as its Grohl's solo album after Kurt's death, so suppose it is significant. Some bangers and gems on here.

My personal favourite foos. The first few songs are class

I remember a good amount of this record from childhood, as i was 4 when it came out and my mom became a huge Foos fan for a while. This is my first time listening to it in full as an adult! Pretty solid stuff!

Pleasantly surprised me. Wasn't expecting to enjoy a foos record as much as I did but this was actually pretty tasteful.

Not Foos best. But great. Weenie Beenie still slaps.

How timely I was just watching the Foo Fighters tiny desk concert the day before this album comes up

Not their best album but even not their best is better than many others.

Really interesting lore, lyrics are hilarious sometimes hahah. Good

Good album

An album that rose from the ashes of Nirvana. Best foo fighters album and monkey wrench is such an awesome song

I love one-man bands. There's always something to appreciate about one guy doing absolutely everything on an album. Granted, Foo Fighters was a one-man project for like a week, but it's still neat to think that this was made by one guy. It's also definitely a better attempt to radio-ify Grunge than something like Celebrity Skin. I like the inspiration the album took from Shoegaze and that whole section of Alt-Rock. Some of the songs are surprisingly noisy for a Grunge album. I'd still say I definitely prefer the more traditionally punky songs like Weenie Beenie, but I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did.

Favourite Songs: I'll Stick Around Weenie Beenie Exhausted

It sounds very typical for the 90s, but it's really good.

Viel besser als erwartet! Ich hab die ja immer für belanglos gehalten...

Pleasantly surprised. Nothing particularly groundbreaking, but does what it does really well.

Ah their debut album! Just love it. Also my favorite FF album. What I also remember is the damn funny "Big Me" video. Well I have nothing more to say. 4/5

I've always liked Grohl - sad I didn't get to see him in one of his pre-Nirvana bands in DC. Weenie Beenie is an actual greasy spoon take out down here in Arlington!

It’s not their best album and not the one I would put on this list but still very solid. My only complaint is the mastering is a bit flat, maybe there’s a better sounding remaster out there. Foo Fighters are one of the very best bands I’ve seen in my time, proper rock band that puts on a top quality and memorable show. The best drum solo I’ve ever seen live was in their headline set at Reading 2019. RIP Taylor Hawkins

If anyone but Dave Grohl was the lead of Foo Fighters they’d probably be a post grunge footnote. It’s good but it’s not great. The mix is bad on some songs. Dave hadn’t found his stride. But there are some bangers on here

I pity the foo that has to fight the foo. You have to admire Dave Grohl for wanting to continue after Nirvana. Imagine you're part of one of the biggest bands, but your front man has serious issues and dies by suicide. What next? You record an album hoping that people will like it, and continue on with a new band, making decent music. That's the life, man.

I’m a big Foo Fighters fan, but I was only familiar with songs from their 2nd album and beyond. I was really excited to get this album and start from the beginning! And it delivered more than I could’ve hoped for. This is a SOLID rock album. Unsurprisingly, it gave me Nirvana vibes but Dave Grohl is such a unique vocalist and has always laid his own path.

Pleasantly surprised by this. Enjoyable mid 90s rock album where you can hear the lingering grunge influences.

Onhan se loistava levy, Foo Fighters on kuulostanu itseltään jo ekasta levystä lähtien.

First Foo Fighters album I've listened to all the way through. Pretty good. Raw energy from Dave. The album bopped along just fine, but not a lot of wow factor for me. Maybe it depends on the day, or maybe it's just ok. I'll give it a 4 anyways.

Not a fan of the foo, but I gotta give this album its flowers

very nice album

i respect this album being on here. as a huge foo fighter's fan, i get that the story behind this album is great. and its a super solid album. for Dave Grohl doing everything on his own and then just circulating it to friends, its a great album. however, i will say that 'The Colour and the Shape' got robbed. 4 stars, partly nostalgia and rose tinted glasses, party because its a solid album for a cool idea.

Loved it. I’m not the biggest grunge guy so I liked that this was a little post grunge.

This is not the best Foo Fighters album, but it is the best Foo Fighters story. Not only did Dave Grohl, compose and record the entire thing by himself, he also released it under a pseudonym. He wanted to see if he could succeed again on the merits of his music and not his name. I really cool story and a solid album to back it up.

This Is a Call - 4/5 I'll Stick Around - 4.5/5 Big Me - 4.5/5 Alone + Easy Target - 4/5 Good Grief - 4.5/5 Floaty - 4/5 Weenie Beenie - 3.5/5 Oh, George - 3.5/5 For All the Cows - 4/5 X-Static - 4/5 Wattershed - 4/5 Exhausted - 4/5 As everyone else has pointed out, despite this being a pretty good album it should not have been the representative for Foo Fighters as a whole, as it should have gone to The Colour and the Shape for the sole "one album" By these guys. There aren't any of "these guys" on this album, as Dave Grohl solely played nearly every instrument on this more raw and unpolished form of Foo Fighters, with most of the creative processes coming from him coping with the loss of Kurt Cobain, even coming close to never playing music again. Thankfully he decided to continue playing, resulting in this fairly raw and unpolished FF album that would be a launching point for the rest of the band's career. Overall: 4/5 Favorites: I'll Stick Around, Big Me, Good Grief

Album of the perfect lenght

Not my style of music, but it was cool

Really fun, I listened to the whole album. Most of the songs have really good 90s movie vibes. Floaty is going on my mp3 player for sureee, which is funny cause people are saying it sounds like deftones (I love deftones). Big Me is good too, I get why people like it. Favourite Songs: Floaty, closely followed by Exhausted and Alone + Easy Target

First foo album, solid but weaker than the ones that followed

Kurt had to die for Grohl to realize his true potential and finally put an end to the Foo once and for all

Good classic grunge

I love that Grohl made this album entirely himself not thinking the project would go anywhere, yet here we are 30 (!) years later. I’ve always thought the production could be better, but I love these songs. I love this band.

One of my favorite bands. Great to revisit where it all started.

Foo Fighters are like fried rice. You know what you're going to get, and it's always good. This album was no different

My first thoughts were that this wasn't going to be great cos I ain't heard of any of these songs. Granted, I'm not a mega Foo Fighters fan so I'm kind of only aware of what's popular but I thought maybe, given this is their first album, some improvement took place from their debut and so those songs are better known. But, I disagree with myself from about an hour ago, in a way I prefer the sound of these songs to their later stuff. I've always thought Everlong and Best of You etc. were always a bit deliberately anthemic if not for a better word and more importantly, songs I am almost guaranteed to hear down at my local pub. By no means do I dislike them, I just feel like they suffer from a softer touch brought on by the purpose of popularisation and here I prefer the earlier, maybe more raw quality of the band when they were lesser known.

Wild this was done in six days by only one guy. Great 90s rock classics.

Favorite Song: I'll Stick Around

This is a call - 5 I'll stick around - 5 Big me - 4 Alone + easy target - 4 Good grief - 4 Floaty - 3 Weenie beenie - 3 Oh, george - 3 For all the cows - 3 X-static - 3 Wattershed - 5 Exhausted - 3

I used to love Foo Fighters when I was younger and I’ve heard this album a thousand times, though it’s been awhile. I feel like now that I’m older this album feels so long, and it starts to drag after the first four songs. My favorite Foos song always used to be For All the Cows for some reason and I think that remains true.

1995. Debut studio album. Former Nirvana's drummer (Dave Grohl) wrote the entire album after Kurt Cobain's suicide. Considered to have established the post-grunge genre.

Dave Grohl.

Great. I've never listened to this before, but it felt like I have, in a good way. I guess that would make it not particularly exciting, if the overall vibe of the album is just "comfortably predictable" but eh whatever, I've really enjoyed this. i) heard before: no ii) would i buy a copy: yea iii) based on this one, would i like to listen to other albums from the same artist/band: yup. 1. this is a call: 5 2. i'll stick around: 5 3. big me: 4 4. alone + easy target: 5 5. good grief: 4 6. floaty: 3 7. weenie beenie: 4 8. oh, george: 3 9. for all the cows: 2 10. x-static: 2 11. wattershed: 3 12. exhausted: 2

cool album. never heard it before.

cue head banging 🙂‍↕️🤘🏻

not the biggest foo fighters fan past their first three records (plus wasting light, i enjoyed that one a lot), and a few singles really. but this album is cool because aside from one guitar part it's all grohl, kinda like the first paul mccartney record. the lyrics are pretty stupid at times ("venison is pretty, venison is good"), but it's all very tuneful and it comes together in a very solid album.

Cool Album. Feel like you can still hear some Nirvana vibes sometimes. Feels a bit crispy.

GenX staple. Never been a huge Foo fan, but I respect Dave’s talent for what it is. Probably 3.5 but will round to 4.

Foo Faen det er bra!

I always liked this album idk. some people here say it sounds generic but this album and its fame is literally the reason why, if you ask me. Might also be because of Grohl's generic voice.

no killer on it that’s worth a five

Back to back self titleds. Another great rock album.

Some very nice combination of pop , grunge hard rock metal and punk very artsy

Liked a lot more than I expected! Definitely feels like a bridge between Nirvana and the Foo Fighters stuff I know, which totally makes sense

It may not be the most sophisticated but its a 26 year old processing grief by themselves. Does it sound generic? Yes. Does it sound generic because Dave's sound was so pervasive that it redefined popular rock for a generation?

Foo Fighters was a great album to listen too, I love this style of rock

Not as good as their live albums

I’ve listened to bits and pieces of this over the years, but somehow never the whole thing at the same time. Solid record. I love there’s a song for Weenie Beenie - I ate there from time to time when I lived in Shirlington.

i mean i knew i was gonna like this one and i sure did. sometimes foo fighters does sound to me like you took nirvana & ran it through that smile filter ppl use nowadays but thats not necessarily a bad thing

Classic Foo fighters album no skips

Great cover. I'll be honest because I know they are hugely popular, but I've always thought Foo Fighters were mid. Good, but mid. I'm never upset to hear them on the radio, and they have a general, feel-good rock vibe that is spiritually like, say, a Tom Petty to me, even if the sound is very different. I've also never dived deeply into their work. I suspect I may have heard this whole album and The Color and the Shape back in the 90s, but otherwise I know the stuff you hear on the radio. So I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of ass this album kicked. I'm a big Nirvana guy, so it's impossible not to listen to "I'll Stick Around", "Good Grief", or "Exhausted" and not think about Kurt (and Courtney). Nirvana recorded just one song written solely by Grohl, "Marigolds." There's the more pop, straight-up rock sensibility visible there that really comes through here, particularly on some of the mellower tracks ("Big Me" "Exhausted"). What delighted me most, though, is that beyond the mellow tracks and the straightforward rockers (e.g., "I'll Stick Around" "X-Static") was the fast, punk, and in the case of "Beanie Weenie" almost hardcore sounds. Dave's a fine guitarist, but he really is an all time rock drummer, just between Nirvana and Songs for the Deaf alone. This is in keeping with that, with all of the amazing snare fills where it sounds like he's trying to send his kit to Hell. There were just a couple tracks that sagged for me ("Alone + Easy Target" "Floaty") but this record kicks ass. Not mid, very good, bordering on great. I listened to it two more times in the week since it came across. Enough to almost tempt me to listen to more FF albums, which I didn't see coming.

“Big Me” was one of the first songs I remember hearing my dad play on the guitar. It was one of the first I learned when I started playing high school. Just a really fantastic debut, it’s amazing to hear with fresh ears after all Dave and the group have gone through recently.

Best Song: Floaty What is with all the Foo Fighters hate in reviews of this album? It isn't their best album but, at the same time, it is a solid, above average first album from a band that would grow to be enormous. Perhaps, it is because a good portion of the punk that made Nirvana a thing is gone and the Foo Fighters are more straight rock n' roll where even the grunge label is misleading. Either way, there isn't a ton new and original here with the exception of Floaty, in my opinion. However, the rest of the songs are solid rock songs with talented musicians. 4/5.

A classic. Well done everyone

When I heard that Dave Grohl was doing something else after Nirvana I was a bit suspicious, but then I heard this album and was changed. Now, I still think that Nirvana was a better sound this was a good change of pace.

Great songs and entertaining videos!

The story behind this album is bittersweet. To imagine that Dave Grohl basically made this completely on his own in a time where his life felt like it was falling apart is nothing short of incredible.

Okay I was prepared to give this album a 3.5 I really was. Good album, hell great album, but I wasn't suuuuper crazy into it. Then ... Exhaustion. Oh my god. What a song!!!! Yes, the song on its own is good enough that it has bumped up this entire album to a four. A one-download album is now getting a four. I know, I know, "oh the horror," but in my defense Exhaustion is the single best song I have discovered through this process. How could that not land it a four? Exhaustion is so good that I think I'll relisten to the entire album because the team behind that song (though rumor is Dave Grohl did it all) could not produce anything less than a four album, my ears must have been mistaken. Bye, going to listen to Exhaustion now.

Ayyyyy we finally get to one I know. I like this album a lot. It’s no The Colour and The Shape or Wasting Light but it’s great and I like it.

Pretty solid album

I like this record a good deal. It's no Color and the Shape, but that's a tough record to top. The self-titled is a good lead-in to that other really landmark record. The songs here are catchy, yet a pretty significant departure from Nirvana's sound. I don't have too many notes. I mean, I don't think this record changes the trajectory of rock n roll or anything, but it's enjoyable. 8/10

Muito bom, curti bastante

I liked this a lot. I think there were a few that kind of blended together for me, but overall I really enjoyed it. I liked the mix of the softer and the more intense singing. Fav song: Big Me - also liked This Is a Call, Floaty and For All the Cows Least fav: Weenie Beenie

really solid rock album. Goes downhill after this is a call but it’s hard to top that to be fair Specific rating - 4.3 Fav song - This is a call Least fav- weenie beenie

By the next album the Foo Fighters were an actual band with different people playing the different instruments. But for this album alone Dave Grohl was the Foo Fighters- which is insanely cool. I think the story of it alone makes the album worth listening to but it helps that the music is good! Favourite song: Big Me Least: Exhausted

Lowkey scrappy.

A fun (for us) and necessary (for him) blowout that still stands up.

Listened Before? Y Good album. It captures a moment in American modern rock when things shifted from grunge to a more post-grunge sound. Dave Grohl did an awesome job of recording this whole thing himself. There's a good amount of different styles here ranging from basically pure grunge all the way up to metal more in the vein of his work with Probot. Added to Library? N Songs added to playlist: I'll Stick Around

Really great rock and roll record! Some of it's a bit derivative, which makes sense!

Remember listening to this in the Virgin Megastore in the basement of the Louvre. Couldn’t wait to get home and buy it. What a great debut, the second album even better!

I am pretty amazed that Dave Grohl did 99% of this album himself. And in my opinion, it’s a pretty good album, with only a song or two that I didn’t care for (e.g. Weenie Beenie). I was not very familiar at all with the Foo Fighters, but this makes me want to look into them further. It’s four stars for me.

A couple of filler songs kept it from a 5

It's much less polished than their later work but I love the raw, grungy sound on this album and especially Dave's heavy hitting drumming style. It's not quite in 5/5 territory but I do really like this album and come back to it every now and then.

May not be the greatest album of all time but it’s damn good and the guy plays every instrument himself…

This album is like being dumped by your high school girlfriend because you are both moving to different towns, and trying to move on while still feeling sad. You're devasted, as your relationship was amazing, and seemed destined to go the distance. But now here you are in a new town, surrounded by new people, flung into an environment where you need to meet new people and forge new friendships. You're having a great time, getting drunk and making friends. But in the back of your mind is still this sadness that you cling on to, as you desperately miss your ex-girlfriend.

There is nothing especially interesting in the Foo Fighters but for some reasons this album works very well : it's raw, it's energetic, it's a blend of college & garage rock at its finest. Favorite songs: This is a call ; Big Me There isn't a song that shouldn't be there, which is very nice!

I liked it

I was a big Foo Fighters fan in high school, but I can’t say my affinity for the band has carried over to my adult life. I hadn’t ever listened to their (or his, I suppose) debut, but it’s a very enjoyable album. Has the hooks and energy that made Foo Fighters one of the biggest rock bands of the 21st century, but has enough edge to be engaging throughout. Not every song is a hit, but I really enjoyed overall and will probably return to it.

Way to go Foos!

suprised me i thought it was gonna be unc shit but i forgot how foo fighers osunded and it was reminiscenet of nirvana and i realised it has the same drummer so like yeah. it sounded older than nevermind tho

This is just a great album of catchy rock tunes, that has plenty of the musical flavor of the mid 90s on it. It is not groundbreaking, it is not musically unusual, but it is really enjoyable to listen to. And it had cultural meaning to us at the time. It was something none us expected. Dave Grohl? A whole album? And he played every instrument? And...pretty much every song is a good listen? This was never seen as something that would "replace" or continue Nirvana. But it still manage to fill some part of a hole that a lot of us felt, and it made us happy. The snobbery in the reviews is hilarious. It is ok to like rock music played well that is fun to listen to.

3,5 Highlights: This Is a Call, Big Me

Great rock album but made even better by the back story surrounding the album. I was going to give this a 3 star, but after learning that Grohl composed the whole album and played all the instruments throughout, as well as producing, I had to increase to a 4. All this in the wake of the tragic passing of his friend. Listening to this album, you're listening to a man's therapy.

Love the foo

Highest 4 I've got so far. I've listened through this 5 times. It's prompted me to learn a lot more about Dave Grohl & Nirvana. I didn't even know Dave was in Nirvana before this album, I only knew him as Foo Fighters. I like this a lot. It doesn't get a 5 from me for a couple pedantic reasons - 1. I'm not super familiar with a lot of alternative rock from this scene, so I don't have a strong foundation to compare this too. Once I roll a few albums from Nirvana and Radiohead's (etc.) discographies for example, maybe I'll have a better idea. 2. The only track I don't like is For All the Cows. It's just a little annoying to me. That being said, these are nitpicks at the end of the day because I really liked this. If I had a nickel for every time I've really resonated with an album this generator has given me that was produced in an untraditional fashion and/or in a very short timeframe as a way to process a personal loss, I'd have two nickels! (the other being Funeral)

Hadn't listened to this as an album since it first came out, surprising how the vast majority of foo fighters songs I know and enjoy are from this album.

Nirvana but happy. Very good 90's rock

my lovely lovely band, not my fav album tho

3.5 rounded up. It's impressive that Grohl performed all the parts himself, the songs are tuneful and it's refreshing to listen to an album that has a pulse. Hard to believe that the Foo Fighters have been around for over 30 years now.

Pretty good debut album. Clearly Dave likes loud noise, and some of these weren't so good, but good to see this rebirth from the ashes of Nirvana.

It sounds like Nirvana without Kurt, which is exactly what it should be. No amazing songs but a good stepping stone to their later material.

I mean it’s cool and iconic

Great blend of grunge and pop. Dave Grohl stays winning

Good like ambient music for this vibe but nothing really tickles the amygdala

Starts incredibly strong. The first six tracks had this on course for a 5-star rating. The back half is a bit too noisy / industrial for me. I still enjoyed it, even if it was a drop-off in quality for me.

I listened

Favorite Track: This Is A Call

Foo Fighters self-titled is a great album that I didn't listen to as I was -5yrs old when it came out, fantastic sound, lyrics, and feel to really capture the best parts of 90's grunge 4/5 fav song: Alone + Easy Target

It was ok, got very monotonous tbh but knowing that one single dude (Grohl) wrote and performed the whole damn thing, how could it not? If it had more variety I’d wonder if he was schizophrenic.

Love the Foo Fighters. Not their best album tho.

The music I spent my 20s with.

Amazing that Dave made this all on his known. By far the most Nirvana like album of this band's work. Favorite track: For All the Cows

Coming straight off of Metallica's Black album, this sounded a little rough around the edges and like it was recorded in a bedroom in a week. And hey presto it appears it was! This is an impressive album for, literally, a one man band. Credit to Mr. Grohl for taking a punt. It paid off.

хороший альбом очень легко слушается, очень классные мелодии и необычные. нестандартное видение структуры и куда идет песня 40/50

6/10 Fav: Big Me

Never really listened to the Foo Fighters, but I enjoyed this album and can see myself retuning. Maybe I should listen to them some more.

ganz gut, wieder mal nix besonderes

I mean he did record this basically all by himself, and that deserves an extra star

I love an album where one musician did it all, or nearly all, and this album is no exception. This album isn’t Dave Grohl’s first outing, so his first solo (technically) is quite well done. The album’s sound is grunge on the side of garage rock because of how raw it sounds. Usually raw means unrefined and unedited, but I find the rawness to be honest, powerful, and well-crafted. The outcome is admirable, and Grohl’s talent is clear, even if you don’t know his contributions to Nirvana. An album worthy of its placement, with multiple songs that keep you coming back for more.

Grief is a hell of a thing. And in this case, Dave Grohl's grief for Kurt Cobain produced a hell of a raw debut album (Foo Fighters' rawest album, in my opinion). This album would essentially usher in alternative rock in the post-grunge age. It's a fascinating parallel to me that Grohl's new band would mark the end of the grunge era, whereas his work with Cobain in Nirvana most certainly ushered grunge into the mainstream. Grief aside, Grohl's talent for being pretty much a one man show on this album really shines through. All of the songs clearly have a "vibe", and it makes for a cohesive album. The incredible guitar hooks that Nirvana was known for seeped right into Dave's work on this Foo Fighters album. Kurt would have been proud of Dave's work here. This is probably around a 3.5 for me, and one that I'll happily round up.

7/10 – Good

Kind of boring

I really like this record.

This was definitely setting the stage for every other foo fighters album. It’s so raw and so good at the same time

Weird that this is the only Foo Fighters album. Would prefer Color and the shape. But solid album nonetheless Standout songs: This is a call Alone + Easy Target XStatic

Classic mate

Excellent 90s rock - post-Grunge? Is that a thing? There are times where Dave seems to be channeling Kurt's songwriting, and he does an incredible job. Then there are times where Dave seems to be going in a completely different direction, and hints at where he'll be going next. The three big singles start the album off and are excellent. The rest of the album doesn't quite meet that level of quality but it never dips below "really good" for me. FOUR STARS

They're not all bangers, and certainly not their best album. But it's still pretty good.

Solid album.

Вайбово чиллово летом на машине

I had the good fortune of seeing these guys early in a general admission show at a hockey rink in Fitchburg Massachusetts. Great show! This record shows a lot of promise. They only got better from here.

Enjoyed it but it didn't have their big hitters on there

Hard to believe this one is 11 years old. Definitely a "growing into our sound" record, this shows the band on a solid trajectory to much bigger and much better things

Really decent album

A great album that felt like the last love letter to grunge. It was like Grohl was halfway into grunge and halfway out, and he knew which way he had to go. Also, big empty is a great song and had an epic music video for the time

Really solid album but doesn’t have any songs that stand out to me

Generically foo fighters
