Amazing album.

Another easy call - this album deserves a 5bagger just for the best cover in history of music, 100%, no challenge. All Along the Watchtower has to be one of my favourite songs ever, that I've heard for the first time in my early teens, and I like it even more now. Just a combination of amazing guitar solos, that gnarly vocal by Jimi and a dirty recording makes for a perfect recipe. Absolutely flawless, in my opinion. But the rest of the album holds on strong as well. Both Voodoo Child and Chile, Crosstown Traffic, or 1983, they are all amazing, way ahead of its times, and still sounding both fresh and legendary. I'm rather a fan of contemporary music, but Jimi Hendrix is an exception. There is just too much talent in one person, absolutely unbelievable. I'm waiting for his other albums on this list now!

Very good. One of my favorite albums to listen to.

This album is a 5 for Voodoo Chile alone. Great blues jam, and for me the highlight is actually Steve Winwood's Hammond organ, which I think is probably the most underrated rock instrument. If you've only heard the more commonly played Voodoo Chile (Slight Return), do yourself a favor and listen to this track! Oh, and the rest of the album is pretty much uniformly amazing, too.

One of the greatest albums of all time!

This is the justification of why he is the number one. It seems an album played in one take, where you can hear conversations between the band and people. It has everything it would come after Hendrix. Kravitz, Prince, Clapton, Buckingham, they must be grateful to Hendrix, its all about him

so many incredible sounding tunes on here, sags a bit but well worth 5

No explanation necessary.

Steht nicht umsonst auf meiner wishlist

The raw talent that Jimi Hendrix had makes you wonder what would happen if he lived longer. His style of guitar playing was way ahead of its time and it's hard to imagine that it was made in the late 60s. This is the third and final Hendrix album and it delivers the same energy and creativity as his previous two. It's a long album and it starts strong with the first four songs but there's a noticeable dip in the middle. For example "Long hot summer night" isn't as good as "Crosstown Traffic". It does however pick up in the end and delivers classics like "All along the watchtower" and "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)". Even though it has its lows it only goes from perfect to great.

Excellent album. A must introduction/

Awesome.

classic. duh

One of the greatest albums ever recorded. Changed a generation.

Jimi is the man!

There is a reason he’s still worshipped today.

Sure gut!!! 5 von 5

Classic Jimi Hendrix, faultless just like Are You Experienced and Axis (which are a lot shorter and which I know a bit better).

Great rock album with some of Hendrix' best songs and the iconic cover of Dylan's All Along the Watchtower. The mixing is quite adventurous and raw, which I did not initially appreciate, but with the second listen this was no longer an issue for me.

Has a lot more rock than I normally associate with Jimi for some reason. And then one random song that sounded like The Beatles?

I think I had Hendrix's greatest hits. This makes more sense as an album, though; it's long, but you can get absorbed in the trippy guitars. I like the way the best tracks (All Along the Watchtower and Voodoo Chile) are saved for last.

That’s Steve Winwood on the Hammond organ for Voodoo Chile.

Gotta give it 5 stars for the sellar long tracks. But I’d forgotten just how much unfinished filler was on this record.

Brilliant as always/.

Like honey butter

Amazing Album. Nothing But Hits.

Fantastisk hvor mange unike ideer som er på dette albumets mange hits også

prrrr prrr pwwgnnnnhhh

Jimi at his absolute best.

Love Hendrix!!

Absolutely solid. I prefer Are You Experienced slightly more, but an amazing album nonetheless

A nearly flawless record. Yeah, a few songs just weren't my cup of tea even though I could recognize the sheer talent and creativity oozing from them. But this can't NOT get a 5.

The greatest album ever made. No debate

This was always going to be a straight 5 for me. You see Jimi is a musical genius, on a different level to do many. Take this in in full, as it builds all the way through and then finally hits the last 2 tracks. Does life get any better on a Saturday morning? Nah.

In its genre, Peerless

Although I'm familiar with most of this album, I'm not sure if I've ever listened to it in it's entirely. So amazing, yet if feels a little too long. The songs on the first half feel a little disjointed until Gypsy Eyes. From there to the end really comes together. Favorite tracks: Voodoo Chile, Burning of the Midnight Lamp, and Still Raining Still Dreaming.

Vinilo.

Perhaps my favourite Hendrix album. I was always more of a fan of his blues influenced stuff.

Flawless

My only complaint would be that it’s a bit long, but it’s still Jimi ♥️

Love this album Jimi at his best

maybe i give out 5’s too flippantly, or maybe i just really like 60’s-70’s rock music. also it’s Jimi Hendrix, and half the songs on this album are in my spotify likes. it’s a 5 for me homie

It’s kinda like Hendrix’s “white album” in my opinion way too overblown but still has some of his best tracks as you dig deep… At the start of the album you get an instrumental track then two mini tracks that are entertaining but largely unsatisfying then voodoo chille comes on it’s dirty, messy, and very overblown but an amazing song none the less and from a guitarist perspective the playing on this track is godly! The next track Little Miss strange is also fairly notable as like she’s so fine on axis bold is love it’s a more Beatles esque track written by bass player Noel Redding ( Little miss strange is much cooler than she’s so fine though because the guitars are so dirty). Following that track is long hot summer night a track (where like have you ever been to electric ladyland and crosstown traffic) is a song that is satisfying on the listen but not one that I would point out and say it’s a banger. Come on is full on bluesy madness really enjoyable and great guitar work but it’s a cover track and does an album this long need a cover? Gypsy eyes unfortunately comes across as filler to my ears but hey not dreadful. Burning of the midnight lamp is arguably one of the most unique tracks that he had ever written absolutely loved this one. Side three all kinda revolves around the 13 minute opus 1983 with the track before and after being like slightly different intro’s and outro’s. 1983 though is epic I could tell I would love this after the first minute or so the track sounds so grand and epic almost like a climax point for the album and it’s one if like 3 songs over 6 minutes that I don’t feel overstay it’s welcome. The final side seems to go for a no bullshit approach to the tracks still raining still dreaming is one of those perfect displays of Hendrix’s guitar playing skills. House of fire is a continuous decent into chaos as a military march style verse evolves into Hendrixy craziness. All along the watchtower is absolutely amazing certainty proof that Bob Dylan’s music is always 100x better when someone does their own rendition of it. Voodoo child (slight return) is the condensed version of voodoo chille and is probably the better version in my opinion, an amazing way to close a great album. It’s good the highs are his best ever and the lows are still good 5/5 because I’ll feel bad as I gave axis a 5 so this probably deserves about the same score.

Hendrix's White Album. It might also be his masterpiece. No one is allowed to proclaim someone the greatest guitarist of all-time without listening to this album first.

Hendrix. Yeah, baby.

Fantastic album voodoo chile

I have really only ever listened to the Jimi Hendrix Experience Album Are You Experienced? Not sure why I haven’t listened to the other two albums with his band. This is much more meandering and less straight rock focused than that album. This album seems to be mixed better. It sounds more like a studio album than their first album but in a different way than most studio albums. It sounds like the musicians are in the room with you. There is a perfectionism to the tracks while somehow sounding loose and improvisational. It is as if you are in the studio while they are playing the tracks live. The mixing is much better than than Are You Experienced? from what I recall. Think I might like this more than AYE

Great listen.

gddfgfggfd

Voodoo Chile is epic with Steve Linwood and Jack Casady, probably my favorite guitar song of all time. 1983 is also super trippy, I remember tripping on shrooms and listening to this. Little miss strange is the only real throwaway. got this on vinyl at the boardwalk in New Jersey. The naked ladies original cover has always interested me haha. Bob Dylan said that Jimi made all along the watchtower his song on this performance. crosstown traffic is awesome. got the deluxe edition of this 2022, outtakes and cool stuff. Last studio album by Jimi.

Great album. Voodoo Chile and 1983 still a little long for my liking, but a lot of good tracks

All time classic some great guitar riffs nice psychedlic sound

It's not my favourite Hendrix album but it probably is his definitive musical statement. He uses the recording studio and a whole cast of supporting musicians (and backing vocalists) in addition to his regular band to paint his vision, a trippy kaleidoscopic soundscape, mixing jazz, pop, rock and psychedelia to great effect. It's not perfect mind you. Like most double albums it does sag a bit in places, especially on the longer jam tracks. But there are so many classic tracks, it's easy to overlook these flaws. All Along the Watchtower, Crosstown Traffic, Vodoo Chile, Gypsy Eyes are among the many highlights. It also contains my favourite Hendrix track, the majestic Burning of the Midnight Lamp, which still sends shivers up my spine. Whilst today he is mostly remembered as a rock guitarist there was a spirit (especially in his lyrics) that aligns him closer to the psychedelic movement. By all accounts Hendrix was a very modest, charming and lovely person; it's tragic there were only 3 proper studio albums during his lifetime.

Jimi is the man.

Full bore bonafide classic album, and I'll fight anyone who wants to argue

Can't go wrong with Jimi.

Absolute classic

I mean its got to be a 5 right? Its relentlessly just so so good. Every song is so pleasing. Undisputed legend, must be gifted as how he writes the songs I don't know. I would start picking out favourite songs, but the list would be too long

classic album.

This has a lot of my favourite Hendrix stuff. Listening to it today, I think I enjoyed it more than Axis Bold as Love.

I have heard sooooo much of this album over time and never listened to the whole thing at once. Quite a different experience... Crosstown Traffic, a classic. I thought I knew Voodoo Chile but not clocking in at this length of time. Little Miss Strange is kind of a fun awesome song but sound like something that would have been from 10-15 years earlier. You can reduce this whole thing to one song though and still get 5 stars, Hendrix's cover of Dylan's All Along the Watchtower is the kind of creation everyone would love to be able to put their name on.

It was a great soundtrack to a wonderful Sunday morning drive.

Essential Hendrix. The tones and textures are as crucial as the musical content. Also, classic rock always sounds great after not hearing it for a while.

Jimi right after the Isley Brothers is appropriate. Ok, so I really struggled to find this album online; I actually own a physical copy but it's at my parents' house. So this review may not be based on all the songs, or the canonical album versions. But, either way, there's enough pure gold on this to justify a 5 no matter what: All Along the Watchtower, Voodoo Child, Gypsy Eyes, Burning of the Midnight Lamp, .... and basically every song has, unsurprisingly, absolutely killer guitar. So I'm not gonna overthink this.

Amazing album, Hendrix was a master.

Pure celebration of blues and psychedelic music while showing Jimi's masterful craftsmanship and wistful imagination

Some of the actual best songs ever created.

Amazing my favourite jimi album

Oh man, the funk, the jam, the riffs... Virtuosity and the spirit of the 60s. While some songs underperform, the rest does the magic for me. Highlights: Voodoo Chile, Voodoo Child (Slight Return)

G.O.A.T.

One the the best 1001 albums? More like one of the best 1 albums. Can you imaging hearing this in 1968? Must have been the coolest music in existence. Ahead of its time.

This is the good stuff. Such a fun psychedelic journey, and Jimi does an incredible job with his guitar playing as well as vocals. The unfortunate fact about being a part of a band that houses Jimi Hendrix is that you will often get overlooked or overshadowed. Mitch Mitchell seems to be a victim of this, and in my opinion could lead a group in the same way that Buddy Rich or Neil Peart did. The talent within the Jimi Hendrix Experience is just ridiculous. This record has such a nice flow to it, remains fresh throughout, the solos absolutely shred, and it doesn't get old after multiple listening sessions. 'Tis a thing of beauty. Perfection. Fave tracks: Crosstown Traffic, Voodoo Chile, 1983...(A Merman I Should Turn to Be), All Along the Watchtower

A true master, his skills shine through bright as ever on this record. Ambitious lengthy jam tracks mixed in with some top tier radio hits, this album doesn't let up for a second, and yet it still doesn't feel long enough. Fav Tracks: Crosstown Traffic, 1983... (A Merman I Should Turn to Be), All Along The Watchtower

Good. Bluesy. Strong work.

What a fucking banger

Endless delight

Easily the best Experience album

Probably in my top three albums of all time fairly constantly

Had never listened to the full album. Amazing.

Some absolute belters on here. Not sll perfect but you can't give an album with crosstown traffic and voodoo Chile less than 5

On first listen, I was going to put this down as a disappointing 4 stars but It finishes so strongly though that I listened again the next day with different expectations. Maybe I was wanting a solid hour of Cross Town Traffic or Watchtower but that’s not what Jimi wanted and who am I to argue? So yes, a little bloated and rambling at times to my ears but for every 5 mins of blistering genius of Voodoo Child maybe you need a 15min jam of Voodoo Chile?

A bit noodly for my liking but few artists can make me enjoy the entire length of a double album. Guitar work is transcendent. 9/10

Maybe the best guitar tone ever?

With increasingly sprawling and sparkling efficiency and effectively (and a mega dose of inventiveness), the last album from The Jimi Hendrix Experience went all out to capture the moods and turbulence of the year 1968. Fire red moon and skies, burned down houses, temperature shifting seasons, strange women, the epochal cover of an essential Dylan classic and alliances with voodoo all coagulate to form what is, perhaps, the quintessential album from the groundbreaking British/American trio. Don't let the extended jams placed at the start and middle of the album scare you, they are just as part of the, uh... experience as well. In fact, they enhance it and are the best parts of the album. One listen, five listens, a thousand listens and you'll come to understand why it's a classic of not only it's era but for future generations.

oh shit wayyy too good to rate, holy fuck the whole discography is absolutely incredible

Fantastic. I really enjoy both 10 min+ tracks.

Genius.

Hendrix is always great to me.

Classic, voodoo chile is worthy of its own side

Great riffs, melody, lyrics makes this an all-trend delicacy

Great overall vibe and exploration – great balance of variety and consistency, and commitment to creating a certain vibe and mood. He sounds credible alternately as an old-school bluesman (way more than Stones or Zeppelin) and an uber-confident hipster/chancer/con man. The soloing – just wow! Near overwhelming at times, and there seems to be a reason some songs fade out on solos; even on a double album, the cuts must eventually end. “Burning the Midnight Lamp” – raw guitars + harpsichord + loose, swaggering vocal = hard psychedelia. “Rainy Day, Dream Away” is also cool and surprising, as is “Still Raining, Still Dreaming” and “House Burning Down.” “Watchtower” sounds a bit like it belongs on a different record, but is a classic nonetheless.

Goated, favorite jimi album

Great!

The peak of Hendrix's career! And unfortunately the studio album he ever released :( This album is a masterpiece. I think it's too long, but it doesn't take away it's shine. Favorite tracks: * Voodoo Child (Slight Return) * All Along The Watchtower * Crosstown Traffic

Awesome, one of my favourite artists, and one of his best albums. Best songs are Crosstown traffic, voodoo Chile (both versions), and, best of all, all along the watchtower

An impressive and cohesive display of raw bluesy guitar talent. Starts off with a groovy funky intro before jumping straight into a performance that acts as a smack in the face. It follows into the 15-minute straight-up blues where we have plenty of time to pay attention to these strange techniques he pulls off, themes that he revisits in later tracks. Not to mention he will follow this track up in the closer as a rampant finish in one of his most famous songs. If you were feeling mixed about the album at the beginning, hopefully the ending of "Voodoo Chile" draws you in and excites you for what's to come... it feels like the real intro to the rest of the album. We start off some pure psychedelic rock tracks that would shock people if you told them this was Jimi Hendrix. Really groovy, but the guitar feats are there. You can't tell me those last 30 seconds of "Little Miss Strange" are like anything you normally hear. "Long Hot Summer Night" follows this trend before the speed ramps up in the very bluesy Earl King cover "Come On." Has a strong rock n roll feel, but the solos are insane, almost like Hendrix is making it his own. "Gypsy Eyes" starts off strong, one of the more complex songs out there, changing in tempo and style every 10 seconds, getting weird by the half-way point with the distortion carrying to the end of the song, before an anticlimatic finish. "Burning of the Midnight Lamp" returns to the psychedelic themes, a really trippy but beautifully melodic experience, incorporating gospel-like back vocals, wah-wahs, and a harpsichord. "Rainy Day Dream Away" is another groovy piece, feeling a little jazzy at times. Closing off the psychedelic experience of this meaty third of the album, we have the epic "1983," going on for 14 minutes. I would kill to see this live. Reminds me of Cream and the Doors near the end. So dreamy. Our final stretch of the album revisits many of the themes we've seen, except much harder and faster. "Still Raining Still Dreaming" starts us off with just like its sister jazzy track from earlier except just out of control... faster, crazier, and unpredictable. Insane closing. "House Burning Down" has more unconventional guitar work that screams at you with these deep sounds that abruptly come in and out. Finally, we have our last two classics. "All Along the Watchtower" is one of the best songs of the era... it's hard for people not to appreciate Dylan's fairytale songwriting or Hendrix's insane guitar-play, especially in that iconic solo. There are very few weaknesses in this album. Despite being a double album, I don't consider there to be any weak tracks, and the diversity and placements of interludes and long tracks help people digest the material. That being said, it is a very guitar-heavy album and can be hard for a lot of people to appreciate it all until they can listen and pick out each of the tracks, which is fortunately not too hard to do with all the diversity in style and approach. The track order is a huge strength. I think it was really smart to begin with a funky piece to ease in listeners and then get really hard with the guitar to entice them. I thought it was weird it have two psychedelic pieces, followed by two rough bluesy pieces, then back to the psychedelic, but I guess it's a necessary change. I also thought it was smart to end with a bang with those last four songs grouped together. There are a few cuts I would make. "Come On," "Long Hot Summer Night," and "House Burning Down" come to mind, but they aren't bad tracks by any means, just that I don't think they enhance the experience too much. Overall this is where Hendrix is at his peak in skill and composition, and should serve as evidence of why Hendrix is one of the greatest guitar players of all time.

Really good Rock album. Jimi Henrix is amazing

Rock de Hendrix. Vinilo.

Classic rock is classic. And face-numbing.

Extra long album, but no fat to be found.

Фантастика!

Vraiment trop bon, psychedelique, mais tres musicale, j’adore hendrix 5

Ruim de escutar trabalhando.

This link takes you to a cover band. That's not Jimi. That said, Electric Ladyland is a classic and shows the creativity of Hendrix. Great album!

Jimi Hendrix is just amazing. The guitar work speaks for itself and seems to speak of a different world. I also think that the quality of his voice is extremely special-gravely, yet smooth at the same time. I've never listened to this entire album and found a few songs stand out.

This is why I like this project. I am sometimes reminded about a great album that I haven’t listened to in years.

It might start to drag on a bit long but overall a masterpiece, tons of great tracks showcasing Hendrix's range from bluesy to psych.

Brilliant! An album that takes you on a bluesy, psychedelic journey of riffs and distortion. Some Classic choons and some of Hendrix’s biggest and best known. Sadly didn’t have to time listen to all of it so a second run is welcome

A quintessential classic-rock triumph, acting as Hendrix' last dying effort, and his best record at that. Coming in an at an hour 15 minutes, the double album ( a less experimented, let alone well done concept at the time of its release ), consisting of 16 tracks ( all varying in length still without ever bringing the pacing down to a halt ) proves to be Hendrix and his ever-so under appreciated bands most out-there and indulgent record, even after the psychedelic-rock fusion that was 1967s 'Axis as Bold As Love". With the more muddy, and low fidelity mix, regardless to wether or not it was intended, the album fulfills its name giving off an "electric" feeling. Paired with Hendrix' unparalleled guitar-work, and the improvisational chemistry of Mitch Mitchell ( the bands lead drummer ), everything works towards the laid back, groove session vibe this album works for. With longer live performances such as "Voodoo Chile", and "1983 ( A Merman I should turn to be )", and standouts such as "Voodoo child ( Slight Return )" ( My god what a riff ), The Jimi Hendrix Experiences 1968 Full Length Lp "Electric Ladyland" acts as an underdog to the bands more classic rock n roll, Chuck Berry-esque predeceasing work ( Most prominently their breakout debut album "Are You Experienced", albeit great in its own right )

It is wild how much better this sounds in headphones. Changed the whole dynamic.

Fantastic.

finnaly something from Jimi Henndrix, he was Freddie`s Mercury idol (thats literally all i know about him for know0, so i hope it will be good. ,,...and the God made love" emmm like it wasn`t even a song so, just noises, nothing to say ,,have you ever been (the eletric ladyland)" omg the voice at the start, so smooth and calming i love it, amazing. definitly too short ,,crosstown traffic" im already in love with his voice. the ,,chainges" in the melody were a little too much i can say (for me) ,,vodoo chile" that deep guitar at the beginning. just the vibe. immaulate. and the voice. so good. wait, ITS 15MIN LONG!? damn. but`s so good. omg its only getting better. i love it. it,s going to my liked songs on spotify. and the instrument? im literally impressed ,,little miss strange" instrumental line is so good, and the backing vocals. i liked previous more tho ,,long hot summer nights" i love that smooth vibe (kinda blues?) chill ,,come on (let the good times roll)" again good, i am a bof fan of his smooth voice, half of the song is a guitar solos ,,gypsy eyes" starts not as smooth but still good, has a vibe ,,burning of the midnight night'' not as smooth, noice vocal thats kinda drowned out by the melody line, not my favourite track tho still good ,,rainy day, dream away" good start with a vibe. the intruments tho, when the voice sings its turns smooth ,,1983 (a merman i should turn to be)" omg starts so good, calm and smooth, the longest songs seems to be the best as far. you can hear there a really good vocal yet still chill to it, im really impresed again, it changes throught the song it happens a lot there ,,moon, turn the tides... gently, gently away'' not as smooth ,,still raining, still dreaming" i like the start, nice guitar, later its a little to much for me ,,house burning down" cool vibe, energetic but not to much. i like it ,,all along the watchtower" so nice voice, really good vibe. i totally get it why its his the most listened song ,,vodoo child (slight return)" start is like fire under control, (kinda steady but still fire) guitar solo. amazing. im literally amazed with this album, his voice and some songs is so smooth i like that blues vibe so much. that kind of music i would like to hear in fancy bars/clubs. i liked every single song from here. the music line is also so good. i wasn`t even expecting this much, from the very firts nutes i knew this is IMMACULATE. i think i liked the most the ,,voodoo chile", ,,all along the watchtower" but iits kinda hurt to choose. i know i go back to this album not once not twice and i`ll DEFINITELY listen more from Jimi Hendrix. I gotta say Freddie has a taste (not that i would ever doubt it). SO GOOD. 9/10 FIVE STARTS (still hasn`t find here the FIIREE song that would HIT)

I could listen to this all day.

This is a classic. Great songs on the album. I feel like I don't quite like it as much as some of his other ones bit this is still a rock great.

Mind healed, palette cleansed and chakras aligned - I'm ready for more PJ Harvey. Hendrix is amazing and this album captures lightning in a bottle.

One of my favorite rock albums. Jimi Hendrix is a legend on the guitar and this album proves it. Probably my second favorite album by him as there are a few songs that are ok but most of it is awesome. 8.6/10

It’s Jimi, what else do I have to say?

Guitar God

A truly excellent and interesting rock album. I was only familiar with ‘All Along The Watchtower’ but I enjoyed the whole album, especially ‘Crosstown Traffic’ s as well. I might have to do a Hendrix deep dive!

Джими хорош.

Classic I've listened to many times before, many great songs!

Absolutely incredible. 9-10/10 1. Crosstown Traffic 2. Voodoo Chile 3. All Along the Watchtower

This album comes from a time in place that may never be replicated again. Mitch Mitchell's eccentric drumming brings an unique energy to each track that meshes with Noel Redding's bass and Jimmy's guitar in an ephemeral way that is hard to describe other than pure Rock n' Roll.

This was an entire musical journey but I loved every minute. 5/5 stars. I will definitely be revisiting this album again and again.

After a godawful minute of noodle, once the album kicks in properly, it's great, a mix of the mellow, gentle soulful stuff that Hendrix doesn't get enough credit for, and big rock noise. Crosstown Traffic will never not be a joy. It's at its weakest when it goes too bluesy. Becomes a bit predictable and dryer - for example, Voodoo Child feels bloated after the first couple of punchy, brief songs. 15 minutes, with limited variation. 1983 is the same (except more psychedelic I suppose?) Burning of the Midnight Lamp is ace. Again, chilled, more contemplative Hendrix is brill. A qualifying moment here. Hendrix is clearly a one off, a definite genius, but it's been said a million times before, hasn't it. You don't need another white middle aged music critic to run over that shite again. This album contains at least 5 stone cold classics, some great album tracks, and is only let down by two overlong jam sessions. Given the sheer quality and talent on here otherwise, I'm tempted to be forgiving, and give it five stars regardless. I'll see how I feel in the morning. In the morning - it's 5. Don't know if the punchier songs would work as well without two excessive tracks giving them even more life. I think it's deliberate.

One of my favs.

Великолепный!

Just a few days ago we got the preceding Jimi Hendrix album. I gave that one 4 stars. The reasons it didn't get 5 stars was that the tracks didn't feel completely fleshed out to me and there were no standout tracks for me. This one on the other hand has a couple fantastic tracks, especially Voodoo Chile, Voodoo Child and the masterful Bowie cover All Along The Watchtower. Great album, was a pleasure to listen to.

-cool stereo mixing throughout -I love the drumming in "Gypsy Eyes." A lot of it is so simple, but so effective -Great drumming in "Voodoo Chile," l especially at the end -Great bass, drums, and guitar in "Come On (Let the good Times Roll)" -"All Along the Watchtower" and "Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)" are absolute classics

Jimi’s final album released during his lifetime is a sprawling work that incorporates some of his more grandiose tendencies into a more cohesive album. Jimi’s guitar work is groundbreaking as always and still sounds fresh today. He was and is a huge impact on players including myself

Classic. Loved it for years. The 1983 mermaid song has always struck me as underrated.

Obviously a classic

Jimi's cool, and this is a classic. Listening to the whole thing, I get a little exhausted, but All Along the Watchtower is a legendary piece to end on, I have tons of respect for how this album helped move psych rock and eventually metal forward. probably a 4 musically for me, but giving full 5 for the influence!

Bad ass, bluesy, electric and legendary.

Peerless.

an inspiring masterpiece by a legendary virtuoso. you really should listen to it at least once in a lifetime.

What a fantastic album. One of the best rock albums of all time and one of Hendrix's most impressive works. Too many exceptional tracks to even list. This is Hendrix at his prime.

Perfection! True rock

Blinding Jimmy

Jimmy fekkin' Hendrix! Jimmy is... well his music is just an experience :D Funky, groovy, sometimes rocky and always soul. Absolutely love it.

Hendrix’s magnum opus. You like stereo, right? This album plays like a hippie fever dream in the best way. A couple sprawling epics at either end of the album and a lot of hard rocking on all sides. And, of course, Watchtower, Hendrix’s ultimate Dylan tribute.

This is one of the best albums we have ever heard. Impossibly cool.

Groovy.

I've listened to this album dozens of times. It's pretty amazing, especially "1983 (A Merman I Should Turn to Be)" shifting into "Moon Turn Tides". It is an epic double album.

Absolute masterpiece of rock and roll. Jimi is the one-and-only, an irreplaceable axe genius. "All Along the Watchtower" is my favorite track.

*incredible guitar obviously *a lot of different songs, didn't necessarily feel like one common theme *a lot of bops I haven't heard before & some classics

Amazing album! I had read that Hendrix was a perfectionist in the studio and you here it in this album. He apparently produced a lot of the album himself. The guitar work is amazing. Based in blues and heavy rock it also incorporates so many other elements of funk, soul, psych-rock. The skilled musicianship throughout the album is next level. Arguably this could be considered the best all out rock album of all time and an album that saw Hendrix begin to take over in the studio and forge new directions. Favorites: All Along the Watchtower, Gypsy Eyes, Crosstown Traffic.

Mitch Mitchell was one of my favourite drummers growing up, and this album is one of the reasons why. The Band of Gypsies is so experimental here, and while Jimi Hendrix is often viewed as the father of prog rock, it's the melding of genres here that make this album such a treat to listen to. Hendrix is undeniably a great rock guitar player, but what's often overlooked is his pop songwriting craft. Fav Tracks: Burning of the Midnight Lamp, Voodoo Chile, All Along the Watchtower Rating: 4.5/5

Sprawling, eclectic, and teeming with ideas, Hendrix's last studio album bottles lightning in an instrument-defining moment. You can hear the different directions pulling at the edges of his interest: deep blues dirges ("Voodoo Chile"), sci-fi odysseys ("A Merman I Should Turn to Be"), hard rock ("Crosstown Traffic"), psychadelica ("Burning of the Midnight Lamp"), R & B ("Rainy Day, Dream Away"), and his transcendent and transformative cover of "All Along the Watchtower." Of course, Band of Gypsies would further showcase what might have come next, but there's something so raw and wonderful about this album. In that sense, it reminds me a little of The Beatles' 1968 record. Something in the air, maybe. Anyway, listening to this record really makes you reckon with just how innovative and genre-defining his guitar work has been over the years. Favourite tracks: "All Along the Watchtower", "Gypsy Eyes", "House Burning Down"

Virtuos und unnachahmlich

Toda la potencia de Hendrix en cada tema del disco. La mejor guitarra de los 60. Deslumbrante y sobrecogedor.

Probably the least immediate of all his studio albums, but the #1 most likely to find myself getting lost in w/headphones on

Beste CD in mijn bezit, welverdiende 5/5

Hatte ein Erweckungserlebnis. Diese Wucht! Dieses Jazzschlagzeug! Diese LSD-Alkohol-Kombi!

Rock top top, guitarra CHORANDO

Me encantó. Nunca me había tomado el tiempo de escuchar el disco entero. Realmente vale la pena.

Solo se puede decir es creatividad

I've been waiting for this day for months now. Jimi Hendrix will forever be one of my favorite artists, and my favorite guitarist to ever live. He's unbelievably talented and creative. How can one group span so many genres on one album? The first few tracks of this album, for example: a psychedelic ambient interlude, a R&B/soul track that would sound at home on a Curtis Mayfield album, an upbeat rock staple, and a long blues track that you might hear at a Crossroads festival. I've been a huge fan of Jimi since I was in high school, and in the ten years that have passed since and all the other music I've experienced, I still haven't heard anyone do it like he did. And I haven't even mentioned the final two tracks: two of his best ever. I tend to cite Are You Experienced as my favorite Hendrix album, but this is right up there. Favorite tracks: Voodoo Child (Slight Return), All Along the Watchtower, Voodoo Chile, Come On, 1983, Crosstown Traffic. Album art: This red and yellow picture is one of several covers for the album, and perhaps the most iconic. There's also the notorious naked ladies cover, and a few others floating around. I have a bootleg copy of this on vinyl, and the cover is a solo portrait shot (and the naked ladies are in the gatefold). I'm not sure which of those three I like best. 5/5

Electric Ladyland is the third and final studio album by the Jimi Hendrix Experience and the final studio album released in Hendrix's lifetime before his death in 1970. Although the album confounded critics in 1968, it has since been viewed as Hendrix's best work and one of the greatest rock records of all time.

one of the best psychedellic albums ever written

So sexy, some songs jam too long (IMO) but that’s the whole thing

absolute classic with unmatched guitar

Very good, jimi always good

Jimi just makes me happy.

Incredible. A masterpiece.

Legendary guitarist covering legendary songwriter on Watchtower. What could go wrong?

incredible, artistic, visionary

Clássicos voodoo child e all along the watchtower já estavam na minha playlist, mas o album todo é muito bom.

A great by an even greater guitarist. Its really long and bloated. Not every song is super good its rather consistent for its lenght.

The good ones on this album are amazing. Wasn't a fan of the extended jam session style tracks, and I got a little bored at times. Still a great album with some absolute classics.

Voodoo chile has enough soul to send a man from New Orleans into a coma holy this is mad, and I wish I wasn't sober when I listened to this

5 stars if I were high, but with the length and the jam I felt myself zone out for period.

Excellent - the Hendrix I have done at so far. Brilliant blues with obviously legendary guitar work.

great album, ahead of its time, the guitar on this album sounds really good.

я это не слушал, а переживал это погружение и наслаждение выжимать столько из гитары надо уметь вот это расширяет музыку я это переслушивал и буду переслушивать легенда 4.2

Overall it’s great. I mean there are some massive hits on here, but I think the album is way too long, and some tracks are just not up to par with what you would expect from Hendrix plus band

Have you ever been to electric lady land is a perfect intro it feels like you are stepping into a retro amusement ride and Jimi Hendrix takes us on that ride. Then you get to little miss strange which is Hendrix take on the Beatles what an interesting choice here. Let the good times roll is a Zach stable and classic phrase that I love here. Gypsy eyes has a big band feel to it while still being rock. This goes everywhere and honestly it all mostly works voodoo chile is so ambitious and yet I couldn’t find myself attaching to the format. I think Hendrix is best in some of these even vocally. I actually think he sings very well for what he makes it’s true poetry and it works. The album may be all over the place but he left it all on the table for his last one hearing the evolution of knowing that this is one of greatest tries at it. I love the band here i like the stories being told. I love that I heard this boomers really did cool shit

Probably Hendrix's finest hour for a handful of reasons, but I think my love of this album has diminished over the years. 75 minutes of generally-consistent psych rock is cool, but I've realized that I prefer his talent in smaller doses, "Voodoo Chile" being a rare exception. "1983" is nothing to sneeze at either.

Great stuff

Better than I thought it would be..not a fan of blues and long guitar solos..

Lots of range and influences. Sad we didn’t get to see where Jimi was going to take all of this talent and influence.

Enjoyed it more than I thought it would.

Genuinely how does he make a guitar sound like that? First Hendrix album I’ve listened to and pretty hard to disagree with the common sentiment that he’s the most talented human to ever pick up a guitar. Just crazy how natural it sounds and it almost just feels like an extension of his own voice. This album feels unlike anything I’ve ever heard before, just a really interesting combination of psychedelic rock and blues. All Along the Watchtower is definitely the standout, but I liked most of the tracks on this one; I quite enjoyed Voodoo Chile and 1983 where they just jam for 10+ mins I don’t have too many qualms with this one, but the vocal sections are definitely the weakest parts of this album. I don’t think Hendrix is an awful singer or anything, but it’s pretty obvious the sections where the guitar does the talking overshadow the more lyrical sections. I think this one’s a little on the long side, and I don’t think there’s quite enough variety to keep me fully invested all the way through For being a 60s album I think this one does a great job of striking the balance between experimenting and trying new things and still being musically sound. Very very cool album, though I don’t think it quite rises up to a 5 for me

Jimi Hendrix is obviously an exceptional, innovative and inspirational guitarist. Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell are also an absolutely excellent rhythm section. But that doesn’t always make for completely satisfying music. At its best, this album is complete genius, but it does drift into moments where Jimi spends just a little too long noodling around. When it clicks, there is so much soul, groove and bite to what’s going on, and it easily drifts between funky, psychedelic and bluesy in an incredibly satisfying way. When they utilise their skills to enhance and support a song, with the song itself the main focus, there is no doubting the quality, but too often the virtuosity is the focus, and that just doesn’t grip me in the same way. As is frequently the case with double albums, you could probably make a pretty much perfect single LP version of this album with some trimming of a few songs, shortening of others, and a bit of reordering of tracks. It’s obvious that this album was instrumental in developing guitar playing as an art form, and you can really hear the starting point of a lot of great music that will follow, and with that, you can’t deny the classic nature of this record. But I also don’t think it’s one that I will frequently feel the need to stick on during regular rotation, as it’s all just a little bit too self-indulgent for my personal taste

Gets you into the psych rock groove and then once you’re comfy bam all along the watchtower

Enjoyed it, I can see how that would grow on repeat listens.

I could imagine my brain melting on a very high dose of lsd on hearing this in the late 60s. Thankfully, no lsd here and it's the 2020s.

ooh, this one might be the album that i love that i’ve not listened to for the longer amount of time. "all along the watchtower" into "voodoo child (slight return)" create one of the strongest album enders of all time, and "all along" still sits as a top 5 cover for me. "voodoo chile" is a bit of a weird song. i didn't notice the quasi-rapey feel of the song as a kid, but that's not surprising. i do stress the "quasi" part because i think it's an out-of-body experience that the song describes. but the "i'll make love to you while you're sleeping / you won't feel no pain" just does not play well to my adult ears

I enjoyed this way more than I was expecting, it had a great bluesy feel in parts and the guitar playing was fantastic. It was rock without that traditional rock feel. The album was full of soul. 1983 (A Merman I should turn to be) ended up being my standout track. 4 stars

Not quite as perfect as a remember it being, but still a brilliant, brilliant album. You don't know in which direction a lot of these tracks will go, but they always feel incredibly intuitive. Pure geniuses on each of the instruments. There are maybe four or five tracks I'm not in love with here, but their negative impact on the album is minimal. Favourite track: Voodoo Child (Slight Return)

I enjoyed this way more than his other featured album for some reason. Let’s shred!!!!

I've tried with Jimi before and it's not made much impact. This time, the class just shines through. It's lazy and studied in its brilliance. Like you have to try hard to make it sound like we're not trying.

Kind of frustrating! It's so close to probably one of my favourite records. Crostown traffic into voodoo chille is so great.. But then there are a couple of tracks of more unassuming 60s psyche pop (for me). I struggle generally with double records, so I'm sure these are just my nitpicks, but this record feels a bit meandering. I kind of wish they had picked the strongest 45 minutes for a solid single record. I also love the ambition though, so it's tough. Jimi's unique voice is obvious and particularly stark in parts. Other members (including winwood) are such great musicians though, and also display it regularly.

It's Jimi Hendrix.

This has sublime moments, but some real clear songs where I’d make my run to the bathroom if I was watching it live.

Little bit too noodley but obviously one of the greats

I understand that Jimi Hendrix is one of the most prolific guitarists of all time, but this isn’t my favorite music genre wise. This album is nice for a windows down nice weather road trip

A much-needed breath of fresh air after Dwight Yoakam

this album was all over the place. it had moments of triteness and some exceptional moment as well

Onhan se nyt vakuuttavaa kitarasankarointia ja psykerokkia. Toimi oikein hyvin aurinkoisella kesäsäällä ajaessa. Ei ehkä täysin ominta genreä, mutta mielellään tätä kuuntelee

Another really strong album from Jimi Hendrix (and his band, though for whatever reason they aren't included in the name here). He continues to showcase how cool and talented he is on each track. Plus, it has two of my favorite Jimi songs on it, Voodoo Child (Slight Return) and All Along the Watchtower. Of course, AATW is actually a Bob Dylan song. Normally I take away some points for non-originals. But, much like most other Dylan songs for me, this one is better when performed by someone else. When that person is Jimi Hendrix... yeah, you reach something great. Hard to be too critical when that is the result. Then, Slight Return is probably one of my favorite guitar tracks of all time. The tone, the feel, the expression are all incredible on it from start to finish. I also think his vocals are underrated there too, if you can look past the guitar work. Interestingly, those two songs are the last tracks on the record. A record that, as a double album, runs almost 74 minutes. While I normally don't like double albums or even long albums (usually there's too much filler just to make up space), this one didn't feel as long as it actually was. There were some really unique pieces in there to break it up, and it felt like each new song had something to offer. A decent chunk of length come from two songs, Voodoo Chile and 1983..., each running 13+ minutes. There were also a few non-musical tracks that served as sort of transition pieces to add some time. It still could've been a little shorter, but I didn't hate the runtime. To speak more generally, this album really has a lot here. There are some solid blues rock tracks, psychedelia, funk parts, and who knows how many more styles mixed in. But nothing sounds too out of place, even with a little extra weirdness going on at times. It really comes together pretty well. Even so, I can't quite say that this one is 5-star level for me. It feels a little unfocused, despite having some clear intention behind it. The length is excessive, even if it doesn't drag like many others can. There are two covers, which takes away a little bit to me (even though I really do love AATW). And, while most of the songs are really good, there aren't that many that I find to be great to justify the length. In all, this is a really good album. It's the third by Hendrix, and my third of his on this list (which I sadly guess means I'm done with his efforts). This was my first time listening to it in full, so now I can answer both his answers in the affirmative (I am experienced, and I have been to electric ladyland). While this one has a few issues that keeps it from being a 5 for me, I still really liked it. I'd definitely listen to it again. Overall: 4.3/5

overall, pretty good and rocks hard, but meandering and overly self-indulgent at times. i'm not one to have a problem with long albums, but there were points here when i wish this could be slightly shorter

Came for the guitars, stayed for... the guitars

A little too long and self-indulgent, but that’s made up for by having some phenomenal songs on here. Even the songs that drag on have great moments, punctuated by Hendrix’s masterful guitar playing.

Such a good album! Sad we only got the 3 from him whilst he was still with us, but he will live on just like this album!

Not as good as 'Are You Experienced?' Much more swayed to Blues and vocal heavy songs rather than just having in and out bangers like id prefer And Little Miss Strange and 1983 arent Jimi are they Gypsy Eyes is great. Bet at the time it was mind altering though. Bet itd be a good album to partake in that to

Finally at the end of the week something good. Obviously, as a guitar and metal guy Hendrix' influence is clear; I never took the time to listen to one of his albums in full. Set aside the occasional psychedelic stuff it's very good and straightforward.

Not as consistently brilliant as Are You Experienced but some great tracks. Didn’t enjoy the psychedelic stuff so much. Could have made an amazing single album.

Hørt før

Cross Town Traffic was a favourite by 8 seconds in. Electronic music and samples have made me expect more variety in sounds/textures in a single album. I find even if songs feel significantly different across an album like this, I can get numb to the similar drum and guitar tones used throughout.

Mooi, heel gevarieerd en aangenaam om te luisteren

This is a fascinating experimental final album from him. It's in part a self-indulgent mess, exploring a range of genres that don't always work, but there's a beauty to it. When it's good it's real good, a unique once in a lifetime release.

*fry squinting meme* Unsure if this is better than the other two Jimi albums or I'm just more receptive today. I still found it long.

Man, Jimi Hendrix was really good at guitar. Maybe this album would've been much better as a single disc, but it still slaps. It's such a shame that we lost Jimi too early, I wonder what he would've done if he hadn't died.

This man was crazy talented. I do question Little Miss Strange though, I had to check it was still the same album.

An exuberant 70+ minutes of Jimi Hendrix fully unleashed.

voodoo child slight return

Been wanting to get into Jimi for a while. I really enjoyed the more electric guitary songs than the slower ones. Voodoo Chile and All along the Watchtower are worth a spin all on their own. However with a lot of albums I’ve listened to that are over 60 minutes long, a think some fat could have been trimmed.

Easy listening. Really enjoyed

Never really strayed from the classics with Jimi Hendrix before but really like this album.

Wah Wah

Songs I like: Crosstown Traffic , Voodoo Chile ( Slight Return ) , Come on ( let the good times roll ) This really is a damn good album Jemi Hendrix, I see you >:D

Some jimi classics on here but frankly it’s a bit long and at times unfocused. Jimi would probably chalk that up to being more experimental and that’s fine but the sloppiness shows up in spots. All that said, Voodoo Child, Gypsy Eyes, Watchtower, Crosstown Traffic all bangers.

Great album! I added “All Along the Watchtower” to my -laylist.

Its not bad or boring but its forgettable. E x t r e m e l y f o r g e t t a b l e

Great Album 4/5

Tremenda la guitarra. Por algo es tan icónico.

A really good album by a guitarist at the top of his game. This is a quintessential late ‘60s sound, with a classic blues rock sound updated with psychedelic and hard rock influences. The cover of ‘All Along the Watchtower’ is of course the classic, but there’s high-quality tracks throughout, headlined by Crosstown Traffic for me. It’s just held back from a 5 by being too long, both in two tracks pushing 15 minutes, and an overall runtime of c. 1hr 15 that is probably too much given that the middle is slightly weaker. Still, a great listen.

A thrilling journey from beginning to end. Hendrix's guitar playing is obviously the key appeal, but credit should also go to the instrumentation, and the songwriting is pretty strong too. The album saves the best until last with the iconic cover of 'All Along the Watchtower' and 'Voodoo Child (Slight Return)'

I respect the musicianship on this album, but it doesn't work nearly as well for me as "Are You Experienced?" I'm just not a jazzy/jam band guy and there's a lot of that here. It ends up being too long, which is a real shame since the last two tracks are absolute bangers. Between those and the general guitar work it's enough to get this to a 4. 3.5

Listened Before? Y This is my second favorite Hendrix record. It stretches out a little bit long in places, but there are such gems in between that it makes up for it. Added to Library? N Songs added to playlist: All Along The Watchtower

Some tracks didn’t do much, but when it got good, it got REALLY good. The guitar work is insane the whole way through. It definitely feels long at times, but the highs are amazing Favorite track(s) Voodoo Chile Come On (Let the Good Times Roll) Gypsy Eyes All Along the Watchtower

My first full Jimi Hendrix album experience, and it did not disappoint. After listening to the first few songs, I was concerned that the sound was going to be lost on me. That I was simply not able to appreciate how new and exciting this music was at the time. However, upon reaching "Voodoo Child", without realising the song's runtime, I truly began to understand the love for Jimi Hendrix's playing. Sure some songs are very experimental and weird, playing with many effects (and a lot of audio panning) but when those guitar solos take centre-stage you cannot help but lose yourself a little. Each solo is unique and played with a palpable passion with a specific sound that is just wonderful to hear. Quite simply, I just love hearing the way he plays guitar solos. So while there are some songs I didn't enjoy as much, the songs that I did enjoy made up for them tenfold. Seems like the perfect album to listen to lying on the floor, doing nothing for an hour and a half

Focus on the rhythm, needs coffee to follow. Sets active mood for the day

energetic,joyful

Been watching a lot of Hendrix live videos after Nashville (visited a blues bar, back on my blues B.S.). Dude is the goat, but we've always known that. Though, other than songs coming on shuffle, I'm not sure what I know on this album other than Voodoo Chile. I just listened to Are You Experienced & thought to myself, I might prefer him live, which is rare for me but he's a great improve guitarist that shines a lot in those moments. I'm hoping this album has some better guitar work. That being said, he's still the goat. Percussion & bass don't get the credit they deserve. It's like a jazz background layered with blues over it, makes for a great combo. Voodoo Chile is problem his best song. I'll hear no arguments. So far, I'm definitely still thinking I like Jimi better live. Album was good, but long. I really just think I'm a fan of the JHE as a live band more than their studio albums. Probably why I like Voodoo Chile the most.

Very ahead of its time. Similar to the trailblazing the Beatles were doing around the same time. I will be coming back to this album in the future. I could do without the multiple 13+ minute tracks, but overall the sound of the project paved the way for the psych rock sub-genre.

Blues guitar can sound really samey to me when put bluntly. Hendrix famously bucked that trend. I’m still largely not a fan of psychedelic music in general but this album is full of classics. A high point for the genre in my opinion, and the swan song of an icon. Hendrix was him.

Psicodelia e técnica apurada. Disco muito coeso e divertido de ouvir. Celest Phoenixcall.

E as músicas longas? Uau. Come On (Let the Good Times Roll)”.

A little too long but damn Jimi is talented. Hard to believe this came out in the 60s.

This has Voodoo Child and All Along the Watchtower, which both alone already warrant a high rating. But having listened to quite a bit of Hendrix this does not feel like a coherent and well flowing album. Feels like his other ones are better.

1. Crosstown Traffic 2. All Along the Watchtower 3. Voodoo Child (Slight Return)

I feel like I know Jimi Hendrix, but there was a lot of songs here I really didn’t know. Cool record though, and quite special that the 2 most known songs are put as the last songs on the album. Favourites: All Along The Watchtower, Voodoo Child (Slight Return), Crosstown Traffic.

Decent 4,5

I like. weird.cool

I've never been much of a fan but I was really pleasantly surprised. Some of it is pop psychedelic, alongside the longer form guitar workouts. None of it is obvious, it's all a bit dangerous. And intelligent. And cool. Don't think I've ever even heard it before, but I REALLY like little miss strange.

The instrumental high points are absolutely electric. Some lulls during some of the longer tracks but it’s a 4 for the All Along the Watchtower cover alone.

This was getting 3 stars until the last two songs. There’s some great stuff on here. But you can really feel that no one is raining him in at all on this one.

Classic rock blues album. Love the murkyish sound on a lot of this. Also he really does play the guitar quite unlike anyone else. Made All along The Watchtower his own. It’s a bit long though as a whole and in certain tracks. So a 4.

Espectacular, nada más que decir

Muy buenos y me encanta como habia mas tiempo para la intro

Very good, even if at times it feels more like very impressive noodling than a song.

For some of these albums, I wish I could go back in time to when they were first released and hear them as the brand new creations they once were.

Notable Textzeile: So down and down and down and down And down and down we go Hurry, my darling, we mustn't be late For the show Dafür musste ich mir wirklich viel Zeit nehmen.

Somehow I've never listened to this whole album inspite of loving Hendrix and all the singles from it as a kid. I mean it's amazing, wild, deep, virtuosic, messy, timeless, ahead of its time and so very of its time. I'm struck by how young it feels and how young he was and what a messy and terrible and innovating and extraordinary whirlwind. And it's a remarkable record with a bunch of absolutely standout classics on it.

Good album some songs almost sound like doom metal

17/04/2026 The album is carried by his two biggest songs, its an okay album apart from that. Spotify listeners: 7.1 million

Voodoo Child is such a dope song that it carries this album to a 4. The rest is pretty decent.

i, too, enjoy drugs

Не могу понять, что в этом альбоме мне не нравится. Вроде все есть, и летающая гитара Хендрикса и причудливые ритмы и драйв, но все же, почему-то мне куда больше нравится Axis: Bold as Love.

Felt like music i would put during a dinner party with all my family and friends, with yellow lights and red glasses

This is a great album. It's not overly psychedelic. I've never noticed the electric guitar "textures" before. Aside from his solos, it's easier to see how Hendrix influenced electric guitar - as a non-guitarist, this is the first time I'm noticing this. Also, I didn't realize that Hendrix only released 3 studio albums before he died. Pitchfork: n/a Rolling Stone: Top 500 Albums #53 Best Songs Crosstown Traffic All Along the Watchtower Voodoo Child (Silent Return)

Some of the longer noodley songs weren't my favourites but there are some great songs throughout and the final two tracks might be the best album closer ever

The first time I did shrooms I watched a video of Jimi performing live and it was incredible. However the longer it went on the more frustrated I became because he made it seem so effortless to play guitar. Anyway yeah, this guy is good.

Have you ever been to Electric Ladyland is one of the greatest songs to exist.

It's well good. Although one of the songs sounds a bit shit Kinks and seemed to go on forever.

It's Jimi. Good music, great guitarist.

Maybe I just wasn't in the mood, but I found this a bit boring. Clearly it's got some great bits and good playing, but it didn't make me want to get this over a beat of

Some outstanding tracks, overall not as consistent as Are You Experienced

It’s always a pleasure listening to Hendrix’s playing. I can’t imagine how it felt being Bob Dylan and listening to what Hendrix did with All Along the Watchtower. The impact of this album is insane. Masterpieces in here, but not my favourite unfortunately.

Adored giving this another listen. This took me right back to sixth form. Had a mate who loved just smoking a joint and jamming to this music in a tiny back garden. We'd head over to his house any time we did acid and he'd put stuff on like this and it just created this fantastic atmosphere. One time we went up to his room and he put on Baba O Reilly and I remember thinking that song lasted 4 hours and it was glorious. Was fun to microdose that feeling at work while thinking we were all gonna get nuked tomorrow. Giving this a 4 as its slightly outside my usual tastes, but id do 4.5 if I could.

Luv jimi <3

the album isnt super coherent, which gives it its own identity as a Jimi Hendrix album, and prevents songs from feeling too samey. I think its unfortunately too long for me to give it a 5/5 i think a lot of these songs are like.. soft hits. if you like jimi hendrix then you'll love this album. i dont know how often i'd seek out these songs or this album but i wouldn't complain if i ended up listening to this album im not a huge fan of longer songs, the fact i sat through a 10 minute song and a 13 minute song and didnt DNF is huge

Voodoo Chile slight return is redonklulous

My first ever listen. Great guitar playing. Good production. There is some great stuff on this however it seems to lack focus on some tracks. At the minute I would rate this at 4.5 stars. Need to listen to again however I can see why it is loved.

So many amazing tracks l

Not my favorite Hendrix album because it meanders a bit, but still damn good. Much better than any blues-shaped albums the brits were producing at the time.

Chora cavaco

Buenisimoo mucho rockk, me encantaaaa

That first 30 seconds of voodoo chile in nice headphones gave me the chills. It’s like you’re in the studio with Jimi. Overall, I thought a very powerful record. Plenty’s of jazz noodlings and jams. Could definitely have been a single LP. But since Jimi released so few records, I found myself enjoying the extended jams and songs.

Some great tracks, but also some weaker ones too. Overall, the great tracks cover for the weaker ones.

💘 Crosstown Traffic 💘 Come On (Let the Good Times Roll) 💘 Rainy Day, Dream Away 💘 1983... (A Merman I Should Turn to Be) 💘 Voodoo Child (Slight Return)

This was amazing, but not perfect. Some more rambling guitar parts, which normally I'm not a fan of on an album but I will accept for Jimi. Incredible vocals and guitar, obviously, but deep lyrics, and then it ends with all along the watchtower, just an unimpeachable track.

I wish I could play guitar like Jimi

Para ser un álbum tan antiguo no lo encontré aburrido ni lento como me esperaba, es un sonido que todavía se siente muy actual, definitivamente quiero escucharlo de nuevo
