What an opener. And with child in time deep purple delivered one of their masterpieces. Great Hard Rock record.

5/5
The first great record by Bob Dylan. There are so many good songs here. It is still amazing how a 23 year old could write songs so deep and so touching.
The Temptations
4/5
Pretty cool record. I liked the second half a bit more then the first one but they are both very strong!

5/5
Still a classic which shows Johnny cash’s ability. Hurt is still one of the most touching tracks you can listen to.
Happy Mondays

5/5
A great record! Even after all this years I still love it.

Fiona Apple
4/5
A pretty good record. I like that it has some unforeseen parts in it.
Steely Dan
3/5
Not very special
The Young Gods
3/5
Not sure what to think of this. Someone wrote nine inch nails meets punk Floyd. Yes true, but I would add some Foetus to it. I am a big fan of all three artists/groups but somehow this did not blew me away.

The music was very good but the rest… so it’s only three stars.
Klaxons
2/5
Never has been my music and it never will be.
Primal Scream
5/5

Ride
5/5
One of my favourite shoegaze albums. It’s so soothing but at the same time very aggressive.
Alanis Morissette
3/5
One of the best pop records of the 90s I guess. Bit it sounds too indifferent after a while
Peter Gabriel
3/5
Sone tracks were really good but I don’t see this record to be beneath the best records of the 80s.
The Young Rascals
4/5
I really enjoyed it. Not every track was a hit but every second one.
Deep Purple
5/5
One of the classic live recordings of the 70s. The energy is still very high and the band is simply on fire.
King Crimson
3/5
It may be very influential, but it’s not the music I would go for. Some track were very great. Other not that much.
Ministry
5/5

Morrissey
4/5
Not bad but also not as good as the records before this. But his lyrics are still great.
Aimee Mann
2/5
This was not very interesting. Somewhere between Shania Twain and Alanis Morissette sprinkled with some PJ Harvey. The Harvey sprinkles are the best.

Stevie Wonder
4/5
Pretty good record! I enjoyed it a lot and was not expecting that.

4/5
Way better then the other I was listening to. Now wonder it influenced so many artists out there. I really liked this!
5/5
One of my alltime favourites. Every song is a complete hit and by now a classic rock anthem. What else is there to say? It influenced so many musicians that 5 stars is the only option here!

4/5
That was nice to listen to. The two artists worked together very well and the result suits Woody Guthrie very well.

Def Leppard
4/5
Great to listen too when you don’t take this too serious. It has some great hooks but the hard rock/heavy metal parts are not as hard as one could wish for. Therefore only 4 stars here.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
3/5
I like nick cave. Really. And I know griefing is hard. But why change your sound so much? This is really boring. Sorry to that but it’s true. Luckily his next record is more rock oriented.
Neneh Cherry
2/5
Nothing special in my eyes. Why would anyone compare this to Madonna? Are you crazy?
The La's
4/5
This was better when I listened to it for the second time. It has some very good and catchy Melodies that I really enjoyed. But the quieter songs were not really mine.
Hanoi Rocks
3/5
This is not reinventing rock music but it’s solid and fun to listen to.
The Everly Brothers
3/5
You can hear them influencing the Beatles! But it’s not as modern sounding as them so it’s only 3 stars. Still a good early pop/rock record.
This was a really good album! I never listened to it before but I like it a lot. I will listen to it again for sure.
Kanye West
3/5
Not bad but still not my favourite music. But west Damocles some cool bands for this.

Jacques Brel
4/5
I did not know that there was a live recording by Jacques Brel but this is a really good recording. I love the energy in his voice here.
The Cars

The Disposable Heroes Of Hiphoprisy
4/5
That was better as expected. Thanks to the generator for showing this to me.
The B-52's
5/5
Perfect record with a perfect blend of Rock & Roll, new wave and madness. Except for rocklobster. I’ve heard that too often.
John Cale

I needed two tries to get this record. But now while listening to it for the second time I think it’s a masterpiece.
Rufus Wainwright
2/5
A da funds like a bad Radiohead version to me.
Meat Loaf
4/5
This is always fun to listen to. The last song is too long but the rest is very cool.
Jethro Tull
4/5
Almost perfect! Sometimes a bit to proggy for me but still a huge album.
Everything But The Girl
1/5
Why is this here? Does it get any more boring an generic?
The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
5/5
I like the energy here. Madness combined with noisy guitars.
Ryan Adams
2/5
He sounds like a bad Dylan imitator and assaults women… otherwise it had its good moments.
Alice In Chains
3/5
This was actually better then I thought. I still don’t like the voice but the rest was kind of ok.
Stan Getz
5/5
Soothing and relaxing without drifting to much into the easy listening terrain. This is how a chilled night in Rio must feel.
The Smiths
5/5
One of my absolute favourites. Everything here is perfect: the lyrics, the guitar, the mood. Don’t need to say more.
Taylor Swift
1/5
Why is this so hyped? It’s just generic modern pop music.
Fatboy Slim
5/5
Still a great album that made me smile so often while listening to it. Good vibes only!

It was ok to listen too but not really what I expected. I guess I like wham more.

Otis Redding
4/5
Very cool album by the king of soul. This had so much energy that you can get dizzy by it. Really enjoyed listening to his voice.
Jane Weaver
3/5
Not bad but it all sounded very much alike so maybe it’s better to just pick a few tracks and not listen to everything at once.
Dead Kennedys

A great cynic record full of hits. It Still sounds fresh after all these years.
Baaba Maal
2/5
It was ok but nothing I remember now. Maybe I will listen to it again maybe not.

3/5
Typical 00 indie rock. Nothing special but it has some good moments.
5/5
This is the definition of a perfect album. It set the standard for so many records.
Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
4/5
Why is this so long? I would have loved it if it would have been an hour long but this is too much. Very sad because I actually liked it.
Elvis Presley
3/5
Why is there so much Elvis? I know he is an important figure in rock music but it’s a bit outdated now don’t you think?
Nevertheless, the record has some very good songs.
John Prine
5/5

5/5
„If it’s me and your granny on bongos it’s The Fall“

Nothing special. I listened to it but nothing got stuck in my head.
Holger Czukay
4/5
I only knew Cool in the pool, but the rest of the record is so much better!

Sam Cooke
5/5
A perfect live recording! I really enjoyed this.
Anita Baker
4/5
I was surprised by the record. I thought it would be some generic 80s RnB bit it was so good! I like her voice and the instrumentation.
LCD Soundsystem
4/5
A very cool record but after a while the ran out of ideas. Still great but they recorded better music.
Beatles
5/5
Is it the best album ever? Maybe, maybe not. But it is for sure one of the greatest and most influential.
Mercury Rev
3/5
Not a bad record but it has too much pop appeal for me. With a bit less it would be a perfect psych rock record.
Ali Farka Touré
4/5
This is a really good record. A bit too silent for me but with a beautiful instrumentation which makes up for the relaxed atmosphere.
Shivkumar Sharma
4/5
Great ambiental music. It’s sad that it’s just so short.
U2
3/5
I don’t know what to think about this record. It wasn’t bad, in fact it had some very good tunes, but nothing really struck me.

This is one of the coolest bands ever and a superb industrial record. „Leben heißt leben“ is still one of my alleine favourites.
Penguin Cafe Orchestra

Dr. John
4/5

Michael Kiwanuka
4/5
This is an exceptional record with so many good ideas. As an extra his voice just fits perf curly in the instrumentation.
Isaac Hayes
4/5
This is close to a perfect album. What stops it from being perfect is that it has too many instrumentals that are more fillers then actual songs. But still great music.
Neil Young
5/5
Not only obe of Neil’s best but one of the greatest records of rock music in general. Only hits in 35 minutes.

5/5
What a perfect synth pop record for the 21. century.
Method Man

Echo And The Bunnymen
4/5
Very cool and atmospheric record. It’s not their best bit among their three best.
Fela Kuti
5/5
What an absolute banger of an album. Two legendary drummers and one legendary band leader. What else do you want?
Richard Hawley
4/5
If would have never expected this kind of music when I read about the artist. But while onlookers at the pictures it all makes sense. Old Frank Sinatra, country, rockabilly and many other styles influenced this masterpiece.
Maxwell
2/5
I like this more than the hip hop oriented R&B. But it’s still miles away from Prince and Marvin Gaye.
Frank Zappa
4/5
Nice record but at some points it’s too much. But still a great piece of art.
Kraftwerk
5/5
This is without doubt one of the greatest records ever produced. It influenced every modern pop music that one can imagine. Evenerything that is only slightly electronic can be traced back to this record.
Kings of Leon
2/5
This is almost unlistenable. I don’t know why anyone would include it in this list.
The Pretty Things
4/5
A great piece of psychedelic rock music. I only knew some of their earlier songs and Berber listened to this record. What a mistake! This is really great.

5/5
This is way more interesting than I expected it to be. Her flow is pretty good and the music is also dope. Usually I really despise Rap at all. This is good music.
Snoop Dogg
1/5
No. Music for idiots. But to be fair: the bests are kind of cool.
The Flaming Lips
2/5
I am not sure if I like it or not. It has a lot of ideas combined into one record. That is maybe too much. But maybe I just didn’t understand it completely.

5/5
This my most favourite Doors record. It contains so many songs I fell in love with while hearing them for the first time. Still in love with them.

One of the best rap albums I have ever listened to. I really have to confess this.
Bonnie Raitt

One of my alltime favourites! It has everything a good record needs. The energy level is constantly high and the lyrics are funny and crazy at the same time. What else do you want?
Marilyn Manson
2/5
I don’t know what to say. Some songs are not bad but this is just a lame version of nine inch nails. Combined with all the accusations against Brian Warner it’s not looking great here.
Amy Winehouse
3/5
This was way better then I thought it would be. The vibe is good and her is still something. The lyrics were not as great though…
Q-Tip
5/5
Never heard of that record but wow, this was amazing! The beats and the lyrics were both great. But what else do you expect from Q-tip?
Japan

4/5
This was a very nice experience. Not a perfect record but very near to perfection. At its best it sounds just like some lost VU songs. Will definitely come back to Deerhunter.

I enjoyed it much more when I was younger. It’s still good but like blink182 and sum41 it’s music for the youth.

5/5
Why don’t all R&B albums Sounds like this? It’s perfect from front to back. Not a single mediocre track here.

4/5
Hard to judge. I kind of have a sweet spot for this album. I don’t know why but I like it. Except for the „Born to be wild“ cover. That was unnecessary..
The Last Shadow Puppets
3/5
Sounds like a soundtrack to some 60s Bond movie or any other crime related movie or thriller. This means it’s perfect background music but nothing I need to listen to for 35 mins. And whoever said anything about Beatles should get his a** whipped.

5/5
The best swansong anyone has done so far. He has been a true poet until his last breath.
Nirvana
5/5
The best unplugged record. The Meat Puppets covers are among the best covers ever. And the versions of about a girl and something in the way are also marvellous.
Miles Davis
3/5
Not bad but to me it only has not aged that well. But since I’m not a huge jazz fan maybe that’s why I don’t think it’s the greatest document.
Throwing Muses
5/5
Wow, this is awesome! I really enjoyed this record. Noisy guitars and female vocals always make a good combination.
Anthrax
5/5
Hell yeah! That was a wild ride. I love Thrash Metal!
The Incredible String Band
5/5
This gives me early Pink Floyd vibes and I love early Floyd. A very psyched out and rich instrumented record. I’m amazed!
The Byrds
2/5
Too much country and not enough rock music for me. I like other Byrds records way more.
The Stooges
5/5
Maybe the record that started everything I love. This is just a perfect record and contains only hits.
The Modern Lovers
5/5
What a banger. Roadrunner is a killer song to start a record with and from this song on the journey starts. Perfect sebum with a perfect length.
Adam & The Ants
5/5
Blackfoot, Pawnee, Cheyenne, Crow, apache, Arapaho!
Buddy Holly & The Crickets
5/5
A perfect record. The Melodies aged so well and it still sounds good. Everyone should listen to it!
Tortoise
3/5
I usually love Post rock but this was too much ambient and not enough noise for me. But still very influential.
Doves
3/5
Not good and not bad. Maybe like this hungover stadium that everyone was referring too while listening to this?
Fats Domino
5/5
You just got to love this record. Fats Domino is a pioneer of Rock‘n‘Roll.
Frank Sinatra
4/5
Very smooth and relaxing music. I listened to it while being on the train and it was quite an awesome experience.
Pet Shop Boys
5/5
A classic of electronic music. Long live the Pet Shop Boys!
Sinead O'Connor
4/5
This is way better then just the obvious hit. I thought I couldn’t stand listening to it again but I really enjoyed it after a long break. But the other tracks don’t need to hide behind it. They are the real stars here.
The Go-Go's
4/5
S nice power pop record with cool Melodies. Also the voices are awesome.
Kelela
2/5
This is music you can play in the background because it doesn’t sound very interesting or harsh. It’s not bad but just nothing special.
Bob Dylan

One of the big ones Dylan wrote. I like it a lot especially that is is divided in to two sides with different approaches to music.
Iggy Pop
5/5
One of the first Post Punk records. And still one of the finest.
Elton John
3/5
A nice record that stands the test of time. Maybe some topics are a bit outdated but the music is great.
Barry Adamson
3/5
It took me a while to get used to it but in the best moments it reminded me of some Neofolk/industrial like Der Blutharsch. I still don’t know what to think of it.
Scott Walker
4/5
I had a Scott walker record before on the Generator and didn’t like it. But this is completely different! The music is awesome and his voice blends in perfectly.
AC/DC
3/5
It’s not bad but they repeated this sound for 50 years now. So it’s nothing special anymore.
Marty Robbins
3/5
Nice country record. But not mindblowing.
Siouxsie And The Banshees
5/5
A perfect example of Post Punk! This has everything I like about music.
Super Furry Animals
3/5
I like the music but it’s not my favourite band. So it’s average and nothing more
Tricky
4/5
Way better than massive attack. I really enjoyed it. Maybe because it’s dark and droney. But something here got me.
Giant Sand
3/5
A very average record. Not bad but also not very great. It has some very good tunes but most of it is just average.
Abdullah Ibrahim
5/5
Wow, this is smooth as silk! I had to search for it but the work payed off so much! This is beyond perfection.
Tori Amos
2/5
Not a bad record but it’s pathetic as shit. I don’t really know what she wants to tell us.
The Slits
4/5
Nice example of an early punk band turning to new wave music and nailing it.
My Bloody Valentine
5/5
The perfect shoegaze record. Every guitarist should listen to it and take some notes. It does not get better.
The Zutons
3/5
Standard early 2000s indie Rock. Not bad but also not very interesting.
Paul McCartney
5/5
What a lovely record by the GOAT.
The Verve
3/5
It started quite good with a lot of noisy guitars but over the complete course it got lame. I will never become a britpop fan.
The Human League
5/5
A perfect synth pop record. Every song is a small hit and the well known hit is the last song. Pretty bold move.
Faust
5/5
High quality Krautrock record. Very talented musicians playing Freeform rock has always been the best.
Hole
3/5
I liked their Grunge records a bit more but it’s still not bad. But I’m not sure if I need to listen to it again.
The Libertines
3/5
It had some good moments but in total it was not very different from all the other British indie bands from the early 2000s. And I never liked that sound.
Patti Smith
5/5
A perfect example of modern rock music. Her lyrics and the sharp sound blend perfectly.
Cocteau Twins
5/5
A perfect record. I remember when I first heard it I was so amazed by the guitar work. After relistening to it now I still am.
Sonic Youth
5/5
A perfect blend of noise rock and grunge. Sonic Youth show why they are among the best rock bands out there.
Dr. Dre
1/5
I hate it. It’s music for idiots
Dinosaur Jr.
5/5
Maybe the best record they ever produced. No bad track here.
Adele
3/5
Better than expected but still not really my music. Her voice on the other hand is hauntingly beautiful.
Wire
5/5
One of my favourite albums of all time. Since listening to it for the first I always came back for it and love it for its almost mathematical approach to Post Punk.
Beach House
4/5
A pretty cool dream pop record that I will listen to again. But for me it missed some ethereal guitar work to be truly great.
Ananda Shankar
3/5
I liked this but I don’t need to listen to it again.
Red Hot Chili Peppers
4/5
This is actually a very strong record with a lot of hits by ver talented musicians. But the fact that they are all convicted abusers makes it harder to like it.
Stephen Stills
2/5
I don’t need to hear this. The best part is Hendrix solo
Coldplay
4/5
Their second record is one of my alltime favourites. This one is good but not as good as „A Rush Of Blood To The Head“. But the guitars here are nosier than I expected it. That’s a plus.
Beatles
5/5
I love this record. It’s simple and energetic rock music and it’s the Beatles. What else do you want?

1/5
Not bad but outdated.
Merle Haggard
3/5
Still not a big country fan but I enjoy listening to it more now. Maybe I get used to it.
Paul Simon
2/5
This is not interesting at all. He should gebe stopped at the end of the 70s.
Soul II Soul
3/5
I think this was very interesting in the year it was released but in 2025 it sounds a bit outdated. I would say that there are better electronic music albums from that year.
Jerry Lee Lewis
5/5
While listening to this I thought „no wonder people where goings nuts during the concerts!“ pure energy and power.
Fun Lovin' Criminals
2/5
Why is this here? I don’t need it.
The Beach Boys
4/5
Nice Melodie’s as always and some deeper lyrics. A very good record by the beach boys!
James Taylor
3/5
His music is more interesting than the songs some of his peers are playing. It has still a cool blues vibe to it. But unfortunately it’s not recognisable in every song.
Alexander 'Skip' Spence
4/5
I really enjoyed listening to it. It was weird but beautiful. Nice to discover music like this.
Tim Buckley
5/5
Wow, this really blew my mind. I am a big fan of Pentangle and the incredible string band and this record sits perfectly between these two. Amazing work which is better then most of the rest of Tim Buckley.
R.E.M.
5/5
Maybe one of their greatest records! No bad song here.
David Bowie
5/5
The earliest classic Bowie record. Not as glamorous as Ziggy Stardust but it has so many good songs! In my eyes this is a must listen.

Youssou N'Dour
5/5
A pretty impressive record! I liked it a lot.
The Beach Boys

Pet Sounds is one of the greatest records in the history of pop music. Every part sits where it belongs and this makes it still relevant More than 50 years later.
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
3/5
I don’t really know what to think of this record. It’s not bad but it has its tracks that are not strong at all. I like Tom Petty but this is not his best work.

What a great record! Every song is a hit.
Van Morrison
3/5
Some really cool moments here but overall it’s not a really exciting record.

4/5
It’s not bad but it’s way too long. There are easily 4 tracks you can skip without missing the hits.
Grateful Dead
3/5
I have never been a fan of the Dead but this is actually not bad. It has some very weak moments when everyone just jams around and nothing actually fits together but overall it’s a good album.
Joni Mitchell
3/5
It’s ok to listen to this album once. Maybe I’ll come back next year and give it another chance. In the meantime I will listen to music I actually enjoy.
The Roots
5/5
A classic in a genre I usually don’t like. But the Roots have always been a very cool band.
Einstürzende Neubauten
5/5
There is nothing more punk than this record. Normal punk band revolt against rock music but Einstürzende Neubaten revolt against music and our perception of harmonies. Hell yes!
Lupe Fiasco
4/5

4/5
A classic rap album that is smooth as silk. BUT let’s talk about the song Da Bichez… misogyny has never been cool. That’s a huge minus for me.
Pretenders

A great mix of power pop, new wave and punk spirit. I really enjoyed listening to it.

It may be very I flue tips but still not my kind of music. The beats are cool though.
The The
2/5
It’s a bit lame I have to confess. Why is this rated so high?
Incubus
3/5
Not bad but it fitted the zeitgeist of the early 2000s. Back then it was great, now it sounds a bit outdated. The guitars though were incredibly good.

Elvis Costello & The Attractions
3/5
Still not a big Costello fan. Maybe I will never become one. But it’s ok to listen to his records once.
Chicago
3/5
Indoor know what to think of this. They are good musicians that’s true. But what they play does not give me anything. Funk rock made by white people.

4/5
I love the instrumentals. It’s a very diverse palette of sample they used and that’s awesome. The rap part was also not bad but I still don’t like rap.

Michael Jackson
5/5

Lambchop
3/5
Ok to listen to once but not my kind of indie music. I’m missing a a bit of power here.

The Monkees
2/5

2/5

Pantera
3/5
Not bad but I guess I like Thrash, Death and Blsck Metal more. This reminds me of Nu Metal which I can’t stand.
Billie Holiday
3/5
It’s altight but not really my music.
Cream
3/5
I thought I would like it more. But it was just good background music. Too bad!
Saint Etienne
4/5
This had some really good moments but also some weaker songs. But it’s nice to let it play in the background.
Can
5/5
Not my favourite Can record but it’s still Can.
Bert Jansch
3/5
Not bad but not my kind of music.
Blood, Sweat & Tears
4/5
Pretty strong and funky. I really liked it.
MGMT
5/5
Reminds me of good old times. Such a good record.
Robert Wyatt
3/5
A very artsy and jazzy record that has some very strong moments. But on the other hand it can get a bit to crazy.
Isaac Hayes
5/5
A very awesome record. I listened to it twice because it’s so great.
The Good, The Bad & The Queen
3/5
I needed two listens to fully understand that this record is actually not bad. Still not my favourite by Damon Albarn but definitely worth a close listen.
Kraftwerk
5/5
One of the most influential records. You can hear the proto electro sounds that shook up Detroit and Chicago and created a whole new genre.
Only one thing: Kraftwerk is meant to be heard in German!
Queen
5/5
I love Queen! Anything less than 5 stars is blasphemy.
Boards of Canada
5/5
Strange but beautiful. I still like this album a lot.
Orbital
2/5
This sounds so outdated. This is a real problem with the early techno and house music. The music developed so fast that almost none of the old songs are still fresh.
Back in the days Ornital were actually the next big thing.
PJ Harvey
5/5
A perfect debut record. It has everything I love about alternative rock.
Lenny Kravitz
2/5
It’s not very good but also not bad. But I couldn’t finish it.
Eminem
3/5
It has some really strong songs but other so not stand my test of time.
Traffic
4/5
A pretty cool record. I haven’t heard it before but was pleasantly surprised.
Guns N' Roses
4/5
Better then expected but still not my cup of tea.
Joe Ely
2/5
Too much honky Tonk. Not my album, I think there is better country music around.
The Gun Club
5/5
This is perfection. I love The Gun Club a lot. Jeffrey Lee Pierce was a genius when it comes to punk infused Americana.
Cee Lo Green
3/5
Nice to listen to it Once but that’s it for me. Some songs are really strong like Childz Play. But some are also super cheesy and have nothing to do with soul music.
The The
5/5
Never heard of them but I really enjoyed their funk infused post punk sound. Now I need this record to play it loud!
Living Colour
2/5
This sounds like a bad mix between Guns‘n‘Roses and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. Why was this famous?
Badly Drawn Boy
3/5
Backgrounding music or Muzak. Not really interesting but also not stressful.
The Fall
5/5
Marc E. Smith is the GOAT and this record shows that even after a decade of great records The Fall where still able to produce a great album.
The Thrills
2/5
I am not convinced by this. It had some nice moments but didn’t touch me.
Ash
3/5
It didn’t hit as hard as it should. Some moments where awesome but in total I am not convinced.
CHVRCHES
3/5
While listening to this record I thought: I want more synth and less pop.
Thelonious Monk
3/5
This record reminded me what I don’t like about jazz. I really tried to listen to it and I made through the complete record. But it’s just not mine.
Beyoncé
4/5
This is a pretty good pop record! I really liked it.
Big Star
5/5
A very good record! The raw character ist simply amazing.
