it has good songs, but i share the same sentiment as ben that the album is too long (don’t even get me started on the 6 hour deluxe album)?
Yes
4/5
You know what I say to this album? YES! I liked this album. My main complaint was I wish it was longer
The Residents
1/5
I knew it was bad 45 seconds into song 1. was a sludge fest to get through the rest. Ben is wild for giving it a 3, but alas life goes on.
The Everly Brothers
2/5
pretty resident sleeper. these guys were just tryna get laid in 1960 so they made this album. no original sounding songs.
Pearl Jam
4/5
Was actually surprised ben gave this a 5 based on my memory. but as i got through the album i realized it really is full of good songs. RELEASE ME
Stevie Wonder
2/5
kinda resident sleeper. I love songs in the key of life. but honestly all his songs are starting to sound the same to me.
Sister Sledge
2/5
2 good songs. first song and title song. this has no place on this list. i give it a 2 bc i liked the first song a pretty good amount.
Adam & The Ants
2/5
resident sleeper tbh
Deep Purple
1/5
I hated this album. it gets a 1. It deserves a 1. it has no business being on this list. it was so long and just a bad live album. i’m so pissed i had to waste time listening to this dog meat
The Prodigy
2/5
i bet if you played this album for me in 1994 in a club while i was high on molly i’d give it a 5/5. but unfortunately i am employed by corporate america and did not enjoy this album
Elbow
3/5
Gets a 3 bc some lows on the album, but I did enjoy it a lot when it was a good song. Nice
The White Stripes
3/5
not as good as their other albums, but had some bops
The Rolling Stones
3/5
Ive listened to Symapthy for the Devil like 100 times but never listened to this album before. It has a really interesting blues sound I would say and IDK how I felt ab it. Different
The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
1/5
Sounds like hes trying to sing like Elvis lol
Arcade Fire
4/5
Not as good as Funeral, but pretty damn good. Keep that car running
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
3/5
i like it a lot. but couldn’t really differentiate a lot of the songs (besides maps literally 10/10 jam). so gets a 3 but could have pushed for a 4 if i feeling generous
The Doors
4/5
damn i love the doors. and i love this album. apparently i’ve never listened to it all the way thru bc i wudda remembered hyacinth house. What an album man. the singles alone carry it to a 3 then the other tracks give an ez 4 star here.
White Denim
4/5
back at the farm shreds!! anvil everything shreds! these MFs don’t miss huh
1/5
lol wtf even is this. what an actual drag of an album. i never even understood why rolling was so popular. the album would have gotten a 2 if it was just rolling alone tbh
The Fall
2/5
started out strong then idk where the fuck it went towards the end
The Who
4/5
this album really does hit different. baba & behind blue are just too fucking good. won’t get fooled again! are you kidding me! almost a 5 tbh
Pixies
4/5
back and forth between a 4 & 5 for this album. it’s just too damn good. Monkey goes to heaven is a banger. Wave of M everyone knows is a timeless classic. debaser opening the album is $$$. i’ll give it a 4 bc it’s not perfect front to back but it’s pretty damn close!
Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band
1/5
Was a 1. Is will a 1. Will always be a 1. SHIT!
Taylor Swift
4/5
There’s a lot of good songs on this album. some of the really popular singles are really dog meat (which shows why no one should listen to the radio bc the popular music is meat). having said that, wildest dreams? banger. style? banger. it’s a pretty easy 4 tbh
JAY Z
2/5
Mid-Z. Some of these beats really are iconic tho. Izzo & U don’t know & heart of the city come to mind. but kinda resident sleeper listening to Jay rap for this long ab his $. Idk i never really got into Jay and this didn’t really help.
5/5
So many classics! The album finisher is debatably my favourite (notice how i used a U in favorite line the EU blokes) Beatles song ever. But that doesn’t take away from the fact that this album is filled w so many bops: Album opener, help from friends, lucy, getting better, etc. I’m going 5 here bc this is a timeless album with absolute classics but also fire deep cuts.
Curtis Mayfield
4/5
His voice goes flows so smoothly through each track. Ez 4
Traffic
3/5
freedom rider absolutely ripped! stranger to himself was a good one too. Pretty fun album
Thundercat
2/5
Pretty bad album. only gets the two because pretty good features and some solid jazzy beats
Sugar
3/5
Pretty classic 90s alt rock. I don’t hate it. i don’t love it. I saved a couple. Won’t be coming back to the album ever probably but wouldn’t skip these liked songs if they come on
Radiohead
2/5
Boring and whiney. Having said that I really liked there, there. I never really got on the radiohead train like some of my HS friends who are obsessed. anyway here’s a 2
OutKast
4/5
Was kinda dreading this album going into it based on length. But it was pretty cool hearing how different both artist styles are, but how good they sound together (if that makes sense). Some pretty good songs on here, probably won't come back to the album. I defientely understand the hype. andre 3k is too icy
Bruce Springsteen
1/5
Bruce? You mean the guy who makes dog shit music. Yeah that’s who is singing on this album.
This does NOT deserve a spot on 1001 album list. We all know Bruce. We don’t need this album in addition to other dog shit Bruce albums on this list.
Bruce should have made that one Atlantic City song and then never wrote another song again. Besides maybe thunder road or whatever the song is.
Morale of the story is I am ashamed to tell my friends i’m doing the 1001 album list just bc there’s a chance they’ll see this album and think i’m an idiot. 1 star.
David Crosby
3/5
Kinda ripped. Cowboy movie was a bop. wudda been better if it just ended there
Joni Mitchell
4/5
Was pretty pissed I had to sit thru youtube ads for this album (no adblocker on phone). But honestly the album kinda slapped. Def wish it was on spotify. Id listen to it more if so
Air
3/5
I was hearing Daft Punk in some of these songs. I liked it a lot!
Count Basie & His Orchestra
3/5
Just a nice little jazz album. I love the fact he put an atomic bomb on the cover. Really sounded great and I loved whirly bird a lot
William Orbit
3/5
Pretty nice trancy album. I was vibing to it while playing video games. Just played it through twice
David Bowie
4/5
As good as it gets. Not a 5 because theres some misses, but god damn this is a good album.
The Killers
4/5
Absolute ripper of a Killers album. always find myself coming back to songs on this album. it docent get a 5 bc the popular songs are mad cap TBH. SMILE LIKE YOU MEAN IT is so good. Ez 4. Borderline 5 tho
Beatles
4/5
I love this album. "Love you to" is such a cool, interesting song to me. Taxman always has a special place in my heart b.c my Econ teacher sang it in a class one time. Its just a sneaky good Beatles album
R.E.M.
3/5
lol i liked the lyrics of the first song “should we talk about the weather, should we talk about the government” me to coworkers on a rainy monday. Also orange crush has been a favorite of mine since the OG rock band. definitely a lot of misses tho. 3
The Blue Nile
2/5
it was just okay. nothing stood out too much. Heatwave was okay. 2
1/5
This album was resident sleeper. Once again another album w no place on the list. 😴
Pixies
3/5
Not the best pixies. No real stand out tracks for me. But it’s not like i hated having it on in the background. 3
The Rolling Stones
2/5
gotta agree w ben here (and the other reviews) that thing album has two good songs. opening track and closing track. that’s it
The Strokes
5/5
Yup. This album absolutely SLAPS! I’d say there’s no skips on this beast of an album. The popular songs slap. The non popular songs slap even harder. I love it. I love it. I FUCKING love the OG album cover. Ez 5. I say it’s the best Strokes album IMHO
Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
1/5
“this album was good” - said nobody ever
“this album belongs on this list” - said nobody ever
The Stooges
2/5
1- put “69” somewhere in song title
2- ???
3- profit
all in all the album wasn’t bad, wasn’t great. didn’t like the 10 minute song (which was 1/3rd the album so that didn’t help). the album was kind of like a roller coaster in the fact that you started high then went down a hill
Grateful Dead
2/5
Turn on your love light was a bop. other than than really slow album. I just cannot get into the Dead man. I really want to like them too
Aretha Franklin
2/5
Respect. Other than that pretty mid cap
The Band
3/5
I really like Up On Cripple Creek. & then Look Out Cleveland came on and it brought me back to Goose at Terminal 5 when they covered this song. Absolute ripper of a song! LFG. The rest of the album wasn’t too too memorable tbh
Machito
3/5
I liked it. i’ll probably never revisit it but it was an enjoyable album
Don McLean
3/5
Gets a 3 just bc title track is just so damn good. Album should close with it tbh. Because it’s all down hill pretty hard from there.
Faust
2/5
First went pretty hard but it was really long and reparative so then i got bored of it. the rest of the album was even more trash. 2 bc it was so different and im sure theres some reason its on this list
Bruce Springsteen
1/5
Bruce is dog shit. We all know this. Why does he have so many albums on this damn list.
That one song ab Atlantic City is pretty good tho.
Eagles
3/5
try and love again was a song i never heard before that was pretty. then u got the classics from this album that are pretty solid. standard dad rock album.
Tito Puente
1/5
every song sounds the exact same. that the song it sounds like is trash!
808 State
2/5
Pretty meh. Nothing really stood out but it’s not that it was bad. just not memorable
The Chemical Brothers
3/5
This went unnecessarily hard. Life is sweet was a banger right into playground for a wedge less firm
Blur
3/5
This album was dank. I knew Song 2 by Blur but that was it. I really enjoyed this one here ace. Solid 3
Amy Winehouse
3/5
her voice is so fucking good. gets a 3 bc the album was just her singing ab men the entire time lol. Was nice to listen to another album by her that’s not back to black
Eels
3/5
Was expecting a freak album with the album cover art, but this actually had some pretty good bops. Susans house, Guest List, and Mental to name a few. I saved the whole album.
M.I.A.
1/5
Oh no. List what were you thinking adding these. oh god please no. If I wanted to give myself aids I would have taken a different route, but listening to this album in its entirety gave me aids. So I guess I have aids now
Deerhunter
3/5
Pretty unique album. A good amount of saves in there for sure. Desire Lines was pog
The Doors
4/5
Pretty elite album. Opening up with break on through sucks you in right away. only gets a 4 because there’s two songs that aren’t that good that bring the rating down. First 7 songs are so strong tho
The Cars
3/5
Idk if i ever listened to this. First three songs are classics that everyone knows but the rest of the album is just okay
The The
3/5
Interesting sound. def 80s vibes. I don’t personally love it, but it’s not horrible
Eurythmics
2/5
Title track is an absolute banger. Not much else to say ab the rest of the album. Nothing I would revisit besides maybe the Jennifer song
Rufus Wainwright
3/5
getting MAJOR radiohead vibes from the lead singer. I enjoyed a couple songs. It was def a nice depressing album which i love. Saved a couple but it’s a pretty easy 3
Kanye West
5/5
I get people hate Kanye, but you need to respect the absolute rip of an album this is. The singles hit, the deep cuts hit, the skits hit. Through the Wire is my 2nd favorite song on the album bc the lore behind it. Last call IS my favorite song because the lore within it. I actually love the story Kanye tells at the end of this song. Family Business I used to put on in the whip on the way to school every AM for some reason it was my jam back then. This album (and most on Kanyes early albums) have been a part of my life for 10+ years. There is so much meta on this album its hard to give it anything besides a 5.
Then you get your masters masters. Because yk whats gonna keep me warm at night? Thats right, my degrees.
Daft Punk
3/5
It makes sense it’s their first album because it has a good amount of room for improvement. But having said that it’s still a great album, but later daft punk stuff just hits different. This album is super repetitive (in a good and bad way). I’m happy giving it a 3.
Jungle Brothers
2/5
beats were solid. lyrics were cap. 2
The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
2/5
Its okay. Doesnt belong on the list.
Nas
4/5
Nas has really appealed me to. I understand and respect how influential this was on East Coast rap, but it just doesn’t do it for me. There’s some good hits tho don’t get me wrong. And every song Nas is going pretty hard and has good flow, it’s just not a 5 star album for me. I wanted to give it a 3, but i’m giving it a 4 bc it’s influence on modern rap
The Temptations
2/5
Its okay. Doesnt belong on the list.
Supertramp
2/5
I liked asylum. that was it. 2
Lynyrd Skynyrd
4/5
Easily the best Skynyrd album there is. So many bops. and ending on freebird is just the icing on the cake. Tuesdays gone-Gimme 3 steps-Simple man is one of the most elite back to back to back songs on any album ever. This album fucks for sure. Gets a 4 bc there’s some weak tracks but the fire really shines here
Skepta
4/5
lol was not expecting to see skepta on here. I got hip to him bc he was featured on a carti song. never listened to this whole album but it goes unreasonably hard. shutdown is an absolute banger
David Bowie
3/5
I like the song young americans and Fame. the rest of the album i can take it or i can leave it. was not expecting a beatles cover there lol
Jurassic 5
3/5
pretty solid hip hop album
Sam Cooke
4/5
Yeah this definitely snapped. Ty ben for letting me know in chat. A lot of saves. Good energy, fast paced, catching rips. I really enjoyed.
The La's
3/5
Looking glass was a bop. Obviously there she (initiates meta) goes always hits. all by myself was sneaky a good song. all in all pretty decent album with some good songs sprinkled throughout
Elvis Costello & The Attractions
2/5
Pretty mid album with no real songs i would come back to
Dr. Dre
2/5
The beats go hard but the rapping is dog meat. Snoop is also highly overrated as a rapper.
3/5
I’m a sucker for strong female vocals. She just loves NYC so damn much. nice job here PJ. Giving a 3 since there’s no real stand out stacks but i enjoyed the album. Was NOT expecting Radiohead Thom to drop in halfway thru but was a nice treat.
N.W.A.
3/5
The highs are high. The lows are low. The album was too long to get a high rating IMO. There is definitely some absolute timeless raps on this album tho
Louis Prima
3/5
Pretty good rip of an album. I enjoyed some scatting but only so much before u want to kys.
Dexys Midnight Runners
2/5
nice horns gets it a 2 i guess. lead singer whine more pls. im begging u to whine more right in my ears.
Buffalo Springfield
3/5
Oh so Neal Old is fine having this album stay on spotify but not his solo albums. What a liberal cuck. Anyway pretty solid album. Some resident sleeper tracks but some ripped. So many talented musicians in this band you knew it was gonna rip a little.
Stevie Wonder
3/5
Higher ground slaps. Just a fun album. Funkalicious
Earth, Wind & Fire
3/5
Dare I say Funkalicious again! This was groovy baby yeahhh. Starting with Shining Star was good but its a hard act to follow. The rest of the album couldnt keep up with it.
Beatles
4/5
Really strong beatles album with a lot of timeless classics. Amazing they put this together even tho this was the end of their road and they were all done with each other. Unreal album to end on
Merle Haggard
3/5
pretty nice album. feels like a good road trip album lol
Randy Newman
2/5
instantly heard the “you got a friend in me” guy lol but pretty mid
Van Morrison
3/5
Moondance is such a god damn bop. First half of the album was pretty strong. didn’t love the back couple tracks
The Avalanches
2/5
Think this was on the other list but i don’t remember it at all and i think i know why. Was pretty excited after the first song (and most of the second song since it basically was still song 1) then nothing else really ripped for me. Was honestly a battle to get thru most of it bc i was not enjoying the sounds of any track. Electricity pierced my god damn ears.
Having said ALL of that. Mac miller definitely sampled tonight on aliens fighting robots which was pretty dope to see
Os Mutantes
1/5
What even was this dog meat album. Even if it was in English I bet it will still have sucked moose bawls. Ez 1. Nothing good about it. Book should be top 1,000 albums and they should remove this one
Pink Floyd
2/5
The only thing that got this album a 2 was the 9 minute song was actually kind of poggers. Other than that I almost KMS'ed halfway thru. The Gnome song was troll but bad
Giant Sand
1/5
Agree it was a CHORE to listen to this. 0 saves. What even is this.
Radiohead
4/5
Had you asked me to review this a year or so ago it would have gotten a 2. But recently i’ve become RadioPilled and am really understanding their music. This isn’t my favorite by them but god damn it’s a good one.
Honestly listening to fake plastic trees randomly on shuffle last year fueled my newfound love for RH. so thank you bends
Harry Nilsson
3/5
I fucking love Jump Into The Fire (it was in shaun white snowboarding on the PS3 and i always used to bump it). Other than that it wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great. Coconut was troll 🧌
The Byrds
3/5
Mr. Spaceman was a bopenstein. I actually really enjoyed this album. Was nice and chill for a rainy seattle monday AM.
Sheryl Crow
3/5
The highs were so god damn high. But unfortunately the lows were essential negative. I’m happy giving it a 3. Sheryl definitely rips when she wants to
The Cure
2/5
I found it hard to hear Mr. Smith in this album. The intro was really nice and had my excited for a sick album that never came. The forest was a good one tho
T. Rex
3/5
Really nice chill album. only complaint is it felt like it dragged on a little longer than i wanted it to.
Beck
2/5
idk i can’t put my finger on wtf Beck even is. It’s not bad it’s not good. It’s an interesting sound, but i don’t like it a lot.
Alice Cooper
3/5
Started out w a pretty classic jukebox hit. Then i was surprised to see this album go in so many different directions. And it kind of worked.
Billie Holiday
1/5
slow boring music. resident sleeper as they say. i honestly don’t even love her voice.
Ryan Adams
4/5
The album cover makes me wanna KMS. Now that I got that out of the way this album is pretty damn good. I still think Heartbreaker by him is better but I can see myself tossing this album on again in the near future. Opening track was good, somehow someday, and the last 4 or so songs. I liked it!
Tears For Fears
4/5
Everybody wants to rule the world is the exact song i think of when i think of 80s music. & it fucking slaps! Shout is also an absolute ripper too god damn. This is a pretty good fucking album. I knew EWTRTW but never listened to any others on the album. I’m glad i have this album saved now.
Green Day
5/5
The first ever CD i owned was this. My aunt got it for me. Then when I got a iPod i used to bump holiday on repeat at school. This album hits nostalgia factors, but also holds up today (it potentially gets better over time- like a fine wine). Jesus of Suburbia is potentially my favorite song of all time. Seeing them play it live and a bunch of other songs from this album in 2022 allowed me to die happy.
No skips, only rips. Whatername i didn’t love growing up but in recent years it grew on me. I’d say the weakest track on the album is the title track.
Manic Street Preachers
4/5
The content section on wikipedia of this album was a ride. Good album. The songs are different throughout where you don’t get bored. Lyrics are really good. And I like the sound. I love Yes, she is suffering, the intense humming of evil, and faster.
The Rolling Stones
2/5
I will admit i did not know the first ever Stones album was a cover album. The songs I knew were worse than the originals so this was pretty rough. I did actually like the only original (tell me). so we’re giving it a 2. If the stones broke up after this album this would not have made the list. I did think the album cover was cool
Rush
3/5
First song was epic. Was listening in the car on full blast. solid album. Rush drums always rip cmon
Van Halen
2/5
Definitely some classics on this album, but other than those its pretty mid cap
Frank Sinatra
3/5
I know all the popular frank songs, but never really dug into his albums. Pretty smooth album but i did get a little bored by the end.
I just imagine being alive when this dropped and having the album run all the way through in a pool bar while smoking a million cigarettes and that sounds amazing to me.
Led Zeppelin
3/5
Pretty chill Zepp album. never listened to the whole thing. knew a couple of the popular ones, but didn’t hate the other songs. ez 3
Steely Dan
2/5
first song and pretzel song were pretty good. other than that it’s kind of resident sleeper
Love
3/5
This is the most 3 album i’ve ever listened to. No songs were amazing. No songs were horrible. it’s just a standard 3. (2.5 but yeah)
The Cure
4/5
Was really torn between a 4 & a 5 but settled on a 4 on my second listen thru as I found the second half of the album to be a little weaker (FYI i listened 3 times since this was on the list last week). But god damn there are some bangers on this album right here. I’ve listened to Pictures of You like 50 times since i first listened last week. Lovesong, untitled all ripping. Easily the best Cure album. Definitely will come back to album probably monthly
Paul Simon
3/5
Pretty good background music while working. Some good songs sprinkled throughout that sparked my attention. Specifically crazy love volume 2
Donovan
2/5
2 good songs
2 good stars
SZA
2/5
A little too horny for my liking but some decent songs. I’ve always liked “the weekend” bc frank O posted a snippet of him covering it on his instagram years ago. other than that i will not revisit this album.
Turbonegro
3/5
It’s alright. some head rocking required
The Police
3/5
yeahhhhhh the police snap here. opening w message in a bottle is the way to do it.
Sly & The Family Stone
3/5
First song absolutely ripped. Do not listen to song number 2 on a crowded inner city bus. Pretty groovy for the rest. nothing stood out tho
Marvin Gaye
3/5
Quick fun album. I think it’s strong but i think what’s going on was a better album for me. Super smooth tho
Randy Newman
1/5
Oh no not this MF again. Here we go toy storying again. I don’t like this guy, i gave his last album a two and i will give this one a 1. please stop putting this guy in front of me. my patience are starting to run thin
Emerson, Lake & Palmer
2/5
Blues variation kind of ripped and the hut of baba yaga. other than that i wasn’t really interested at all
Keith Jarrett
2/5
Was dreading this when i saw it on friday so decided to save it for Monday AM. good move by me. it actually short of ripped. longer than it needed to be but i liked it more than i thought i would. just some songs dragged on a littttttle too long
The Smashing Pumpkins
4/5
Definitely some absolute bangers on this album. The last two songs on the album are pretty weak to me that give it a 4. First four songs come out absolutely ripping
Madness
1/5
These guys got lucky and made Our House and ended up on this list SMH
Liz Phair
1/5
I have to agree with ben here that nothing really stood out. I saved Glory. I have nothing else to add here and no reason to give this anything than the 1 it deserves.
David Gray
3/5
Idk why but “we’re not right” really annoyed me. Other than that i thought the album was fine. A lot of comments seem to dislike the album. i didn’t find anything wrong with it besides being a little slow at some points. Some songs
were giving Ryan Adams
The Dave Brubeck Quartet
4/5
This goes unreasonably hard. Take five absolutely snaps on em.
Nina Simone
3/5
First half carried. Definitely a solid album. Didn’t realize the Story of OJ by Jay Z is a sample of Four Woman until I heard this today.
R.E.M.
4/5
The popular ones on this album are great. The deep cuts are great. Don’t remember enjoying this album this much last time I listened to it. Ran it back once i finished it
Bob Dylan
4/5
Ripppppppper. 2nd best Bob D behind the freewheelin bobby D. Favorite track: Ballad of a Thin man.
Charles Mingus
3/5
I’m a simple man. I see the boi mingus, i’m happy.
Otis Redding
3/5
Pretty good short ripper. My girl hit
Nirvana
4/5
I’m not a Nirvana fan boy but this album rips. I wouldn’t introduce someone to Nirvana with this album, but it’s great when getting deeper into them.
I mean live in nyc??? name a better place to be unplugged, i’ll wait.
The Zutons
3/5
Idk it wasn’t bad but nothing really stood out to me. But i was fine just having the album running in the background. just didn’t really hear any stand out tracks.
Janis Joplin
2/5
i bet if i smoked 1,000 cigarettes id sound like this
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
2/5
First song was good. didn’t love much else. Loom of the land was okay at best
Nick Drake
2/5
I feel like i should like N. D. but for some reason i don’t. Idk if it’s his voice or what but i can just get into it. Even Pink Moon i thought was meh
Duran Duran
3/5
It’s giving 1982 hard. Rio is actually the best song on the album by miles. I love this song god damn. Pretty ez 3
Marilyn Manson
1/5
What ben said -1 star. This album was absolute dog meat. Idc if it had 9 inch nails influence. it sucked bc the lyrics were shit and i hated it. longest album ever. fuck
Gary Numan
3/5
Dude asylum made me feel like i was in a sci fi movie. I love it… M.E. was an absolute banger and so was observer. Some songs i didn’t vibe with so im giving it a 3 but it had some really strong points
Depeche Mode
3/5
Seems to be a common theme of albums with some really poggers songs but then a lot of resident sleepers. I totally get why enjoy the silence has so many streams. it rips. Sweetest perfection & waiting for the night also rip
The Notorious B.I.G.
3/5
Flow:5 - can’t top this
Bars:3 - shooting people or riding a his bitch
Skits:1 - absolute L
9/15=3/5
Some classics on this album (big poppa / juicy specifically) that are all time and no one can debate that
Bad Company
3/5
I didn’t hate it as much as the others. I thought it was a smooth easy to listen to album that I just had on while i worked. Ready for love was a great song. Second half wasn’t as good but it was fine.
Buck Owens
3/5
Nice honky-talk. Def had my tapping my foot. I recognized a good amount of tracks that were covered by artists later on. 3
Doves
2/5
I liked the first song & catch the sun
Talking Heads
2/5
First week was such a shit song lmao. Psycho killer has been a favorite song of mine since they sang it in IASIP. The rest of the album was really not memorable at all. Don’t worry about the government was a troll song tho.
The Waterboys
3/5
Def never listened to this genre before... Irish rock? Some good songs for sure, but I agree with Dom that disc 2 dragggged on forever. Wudda been a 4 if it was only disc 1
Robert Wyatt
2/5
Ez 2. Nothing really great about the album but the last song kind of ripped for me.
Serge Gainsbourg
3/5
Literally Bens review was EXACTLY the perfect way to describe the album. I enjoyed it even tho I didn't understand one word. The album just flowed nicely
Deee-Lite
1/5
Even the popular song was mid
Missy Elliott
2/5
I’m not mad this is on the list, but it’s not for me. but i totally recognize it’s relevance and understand why they chose to put it here.
Suzanne Vega
3/5
This is troll that this album popped up bc i recently discovered Toms Diner and I absolutely love it. So how you gonna give us the Suzanne Vega album without Toms Diner! Cmon now list. But i actually enjoyed this album but nothing revolutionary IMHO. Marlene on the wall slaps but Undertow was freaky 🥴
Isaac Hayes
2/5
2/5 - This album
3.5/5 - This album but 24 minutes
Donald Fagen
3/5
A good amount of saves. Nothing to write home about but I enjoyed the album. Green Flower Street went pretty hard tbh
Marvin Gaye
3/5
Is That Enough was the stand out track. The rest of the album was pretty damn smooth. Def had me tapping my foot at some times. Smooth, smooth, and smooth
X-Ray Spex
4/5
Pog Punk. Love the leader singers raspy ass voice opening up the album. Album absolutely shreds ! So many saves throughout. Back half of the album was weaker but still good
Death In Vegas
2/5
Kind of background noise resident sleeper. Nothing really good
Gil Scott-Heron
3/5
This was good. Funky & groovy. Wasn't expecting some troll slam poetry lol.
Slayer
4/5
Grinding Overwatch and listening to this album was a 10/10 experience. This album goes really hard. You always hear people talking about Slayer, but you never really listen until you got a website that forces you to. and I am glad i did. Ez 4
The Young Gods
1/5
Sometimes i get to albums and they make me question the mental stability of the man who wrote this list.
10cc
1/5
First song was cringe AF. i knew i was fucked from there on out…. Each song sounded like some guy having a manic episode and singing what was going on his head. I hated it dude. I hated it.
Pantera
3/5
Walk was kind of cringe. The only thing I am will RE-SPECT’ing is deez nuts bud. but some other songs went pretty hard and the guitar was ripping so illl give her a 3
The Flaming Lips
5/5
Ez 5. I discovered this album years ago when someone posted “Do you Realize??” on their insta story and i was like wow that song is a banger. After listening to that song 40 times i decided it was time for the full album.
Opening with fight test you have no idea the ride you are in for, but you learn quick that this will be a fun, unique album. Yoshimi part 1 is a 10/10 song that i love, then part 2 is a just a noise machine but it works perfectly. Ego tripping, are you a hypno, it’s summertime, do you realize is one of the most solid 4 song rips you can get. IMHO all we have is now should have closed the album, but i guess it’s fitting we end on an instrumental.
I can’t really describe why i love this album, but all the songs just sound so good to me and idk why
Suede
3/5
Damn there was a 4 song stretch between The Wild Ones & New Generation that was unreal. Rest of the album was pretty solid too. I think it’s a 3 because there were a couple songs i didn’t love (specifically the 2 of us & black or blue), but i could prob make an argument for 4.
Steely Dan
2/5
Shitty Dan. First song was alright. Other than that was fighting the urge to fall asleep
The Fall
2/5
Had potential but just didn’t work for some reason
Joy Division
3/5
Disorder & New Dawn Fades $ She’s Lost Control slapped. Other than that nothing to write home about. 1 star for each song i enjoyed
Laibach
2/5
I read a comment saying cookie monster singing and now i can’t unhear it. this was piss. album cover was troll and F.I.A.T wasn’t bad. 2
Hole
4/5
Grunge goes hard. This grunge goes hard. I like it. Her voice just works well over each track. Opening song is the best one for sure
The Icarus Line
2/5
There were like 2 good songs. The rest of this album was mid & cap. it’s like a 1.5 so i rounded up
Dagmar Krause
1/5
Nothing like a dog piss album to ruin your Friday. WTF was that Mother song, wtf!
Her voice was unique - You Have To Pay had a troll instrumental that i liked lol
Iron Maiden
4/5
The best Iron Maiden album and that’s on baby. Number of the beast into Run to the hills is just too good. Album ends on an absolute banger as well. prob a 3.6 rounded up
Dinosaur Jr.
2/5
Bad singing tbh
Nitin Sawhney
2/5
Kind of shit. It’s a melting pot of a bunch of different sounds that just didn’t seem to work too well. For example, Pilgrim was a HORRIBLE song.
Some troll songs but not enough to get a spot on this list IMO
Beatles
3/5
14 songs in 33 mins is kind of cap. But i enjoyed some of the songs. I kind of agree with ben that early Beatles are not as meta as later on but I didn’t hate it. Was not expecting the Mr Postman cover lol
3/5
Didn’t feel like a live album tbh. Harmonica was a little overplayed but pretty standard bobby D tbh. It’s good, not great
Brian Eno
3/5
First two songs were actually really chill - was perfect working background music. back half didnt feel much different and kind of dragged on
Kings of Leon
3/5
IDK the other KoL album but it has Sex on Fire & Use Somebody so I just assumed that was the better one, but this album wasnt that bad actually. It definitely started out hot and sizzled by the end
Kate Bush
3/5
I liked it. This Womans Work was the best for sure - Poggers
Creedence Clearwater Revival
3/5
Easy listen with some classics sprinkled within. Some songs were boring but I understand why this album made the list. 3
Talking Heads
3/5
Most talking heads sounds the same to me - Its not bad tho. Some saves, but def will not revisit the entire album
Baaba Maal
1/5
It’s a 1. there’s no other way to spell it out besides give this a 1 and never talk about it again. at least Ben had a good review
Common
1/5
Too long for a shitty ass rapper. Honestly the beats are the only good thing but the rapping/length is so aids im giving it a 1
The Pogues
4/5
Wow i went into this raw and absolutely loved it. A lot of really strong songs. Getting a 4 because there was some weak tracks sprinkled throughout and I probably can’t listen to this album too often or it would probably get really old and annoying lol
Stand out tracks were Turkish Song of the Damned, Bottle of Smoke, & Thousands Are Sailing.
Queen Latifah
1/5
Weak, cheesy, shit lyrics on this album. Beats are mid. I did not like this at all and don’t think it belongs on this list
Al Green
3/5
Opened so strong and never really hit that high for the rest of the album. But it was a pretty chill groovy listen. I was vibin for sure with my 3 saves
Leonard Cohen
3/5
Not as good as his first album but there’s some saves sprinkled throughout. Pretty standard sounding Leonard. I’ll take it
Belle & Sebastian
3/5
Pretty classic indie album. At one point in time “Get me away from here i’m dying” was in my daily rotation. The first song slaps as well. Other than that it’s a solid 3
Lloyd Cole And The Commotions
2/5
Boring L British album. Saved rattlesnakes. Rest was meh
Living Colour
3/5
First song is really good yeahhhh.
Me hitting on a girl: “what’s your favorite color baby?”
Red Hot Chili Peppers
3/5
Really sets the stage of what the Chili Peppers will become. While Breaking the girl, Give it away, and Under the Bridge are all super popular they really are great songs that have that chili pepper sound. I enjoy this album. Run time is a little long with some misses but generally pretty solid
Miriam Makeba
3/5
Very unique soothing album. I was vibing while working to this one for sure
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan
1/5
most songs sounded the same…. that sound you ask? dog meat
Ali Farka Touré
2/5
Album cover looks like a sick chop sessions w the fellas. First song i really vibed to, but didn’t get much from the rest of the album besides maybe Amandrai and Keito, which had a cool sound
Suicide
2/5
If the album didn’t have Girl into Frankie Teardrop it might have been a 3 but those two songs gave me aids back2back. Besides that was def a unique album with some cool songs
John Martyn
3/5
lol the song about him being able to make a good jelly roll was wild. other than that i really enjoyed the album and ended up saving more songs (four total) than i thought i was gonna. giving it a 3 because i will prob never listen to it or any of the songs unless they come on shuffle on my liked playlist.
James Brown
4/5
can’t image the electricity in the air during a live james brown concert. this live album helps imagine it, but you def had to be there to fully experience it. sounds great for a live album. absolutely rips front to back. gets a 4 bc let’s be real this thing is sick but i’m not gonna be bumping it ever again
Alexander 'Skip' Spence
1/5
More like Alexander ‘skip this album’ spence. I liked ‘Diana’ but pretty much the next hour was an absolute slog and i really wanted to turn it off.
Meat Loaf
4/5
Was borderline 5 here but ultimately went with the 4. I think i just have rose tinted glasses due to my dad always blasting these songs in the jukebox while we would play pool in my basement.
But honestly there’s a lot of hits on this album, they just don’t really work together as an album IMO. They all work better on their own but don’t really flow into each other. Like i literally saved every song on the album, but i don’t think it’s worthy of a 5 as an album. Idk why Meat Loaf gets meme’d to death bc they got some pretty good songs. ez 4
Nine Inch Nails
4/5
It’s good
Femi Kuti
1/5
Long. Boring. Shit. Only on this list bc his daddy
Richard Hawley
3/5
A little corny but The Ocean was an absolute ripper. Will not revisit but i enjoyed my stay
Björk
3/5
Her voice is super unique and the songs all have different sounds. but still not my cup of tea. i’ll give a 3 tho bc it def belongs on the list and i respect it
4/5
Some of the subject matter is outdated and not too relevant to a 28 year old male living in 2024. But her voice and the feel throughout the album are hard to look past. The vocals on ‘I really don’t want to know’ are amazing. Really strong 4 from me and will prob revisit some of these tracks
5/5
it’s a 5. So many bangers on this album. I don’t really have much to say besides i love the album and even the 3 songs i don’t like are still good. ezzzz 5
Pet Shop Boys
3/5
Fun high tempo dancy album that i will never revisit again because it’s just not my style
Grizzly Bear
2/5
Two Weeks has been tossed around random playlists I made for years. Never actually listened to the album. It has some highs but it definitely had some lows. Overall not too impressed
Pavement
3/5
Def enjoyed this way more this time around. A lot more saves. Conduit for Sale continues to be absolute bopperoni n cheese. Some lows tho so we’ll toss her a 3
David Ackles
1/5
Cringe lyrics. Cringe instruments. Cringe album. Delete

2/5
yeah she’s a good singer with a great voice. but i don’t give a fuck
Aphex Twin
2/5
i always listen to an aphex twin album on these music list. save a couple songs. then never revisit it again. and for that, this gets a 2
Kings of Leon
3/5
I enjoyed a couple songs. NGL i totally thought they only made music similar to their hits (sex on fire, use somebody) so this sound was surprising. it’s okay
Blondie
3/5
had some really high highs.
The Vines
2/5

Tangerine Dream
1/5
I think spotify is missing a track or 2. but that’s okay - i saw what i needed. when im ready to go to space ill ping bezos and ask him to put me on a blue origin rocket. then ill ensure this album plays on repeat. until then ill never listen to this trash garbanzo music again
Tom Waits
2/5
first song came out ripping. then the first 90 seconds of the second song caused me get aids. then the rest of the album was bad. overall i’ll give it a 2 because his voice is pretty unique
Terence Trent D'Arby
1/5
all songs sounded the same. actual trash album that should be so far away from this list it should have a different zip code
Robbie Williams
1/5
I echo ben’s sentiment. This wasn’t good
The 13th Floor Elevators
3/5
Was kind of dreading this but it wasn’t horrible. “You don’t know” was clearly the standout song. shit slapped!
Lupe Fiasco
3/5
The intro was mad cringe. Slam poetry type ish. But then the album picked up at a decent pace. Kick, Push used to be my fucking anthem in middle school. Never actually listened to the full album but i fucked w it.
LTJ Bukem
1/5
there’s a five star rating. therefore 1 is the lowest. and right below 1 you have “shit”. and below “shit” is this. so this album lands right below “shit” but since i need to rank it on a scale of 1-5 it gets a 1
The Cure
3/5
i had a good time
2/5
Started out pretty hot but the back half dragged. def some highs and lows
Fun Lovin' Criminals
3/5
idk what ben is on about but the pulp fiction sample in scooby snacks went hard. but the chorus did suck lol.
this was an interesting album for sure with a unique sound. i’ll give it a 3 bc it kind of worked well, but i def will not revisit or talk about this ever again

1/5
the fuck even was this dude. god dammit. i hate it
CHIC
3/5
Really funky. some lows but i had a good time
Jean-Michel Jarre
1/5
Resident sleeper. If i wanted to float in space i’d pay Bezos 20M to take a ship to space as opposed to listening to this dog piss and pretending i’m floating in space
Rod Stewart
4/5
Damn i came into this album ready to roast the fuck out of it. Then i saved the first 3 songs and knew i miscalculated. So many good songs on this. my dad used to play Maggie May on the basement jukebox all the time while we played billiards but the most of this album is just as good. god damn. shout out that boi Rod. a couple of misses but still an ez 4
Koffi Olomide
