I’d never listened to a full Coldplay album before. Still haven’t, really—Parachutes drifted by like beige wallpaper in an empty room. It’s not even offensively bad; it’s just so… anaemic. Banal would be generous. It's like being bored to death by candle light.
They were indeed wrong, and honestly, drowning is preferable to listening to this nonsense.

Great album, not much else to say except it's a shame a lot of the messages in this album are still valid today, sadly.

What's not to like? Otis is a master of his craft and this is a great selection of songs
Not my thing but easy to listen to, I think not knowing what they are saying helped me focus on the arrangement and harmonies so it was enjoyable.
Meh
Back in 2003, I was very into Punk, Metal, Jungle and Drum and Bass; this passed me by then. So I gave it a chance, but Wainwright’s theatrical delivery doesn't do it for me. It's bland and pretentious

One or two good songs don’t make this a must-hear album. Unless I’m missing something about its impact, I don’t really get why it was ever in contention. It’s fine—just solidly average.

Tis easy to hate on Morrissey given his repeated outbursts and when you apply todays morrisey to the lyrics in some of these songs its odd, Musically good, but I find it hard to agree with the message in manyt of the songs.
An absolute little gem this one
Pacific 202 will always be a classic. I totally understand why some people don't rate the music, but for me, it is and always will be fantastic. A real pleasure to listen to the full album again!
