I think I like this band but not this album
Even unsliced bread is better
They really couldn't be bothered, could they? Everything about this has a 'will this do?' air to it, from the no-title title to the lazy rehashes of former glories that simply have no spark of joy or imagination. I'm a huge fan of Loveless. I have no love for this.
Ok this is far worse than I remembered MBV. Maybe it's because I keep fooling myself into thinking shoegaze is something I could like? Anyway, I'd be ashamed to release this as a garage band. Why anyone would put this on an "albums you must hear before you die" list is just completely beyond me. It must be cause they're from the UK. There's no other explanation. This fucking sucks. 1/5.
Boring but captivating. Did I say captivating? Just boring and dull as hell. The best way of describing the record is by means of one of the songs: nothing is, indeed.
