Is there any lyrics at all? Track # 3 is like an old cassette tape going crazy. It is fascinating to me that these 45 minutes of music were recorded and completed over twenty years. Maybe if they had tried for a few more years, maybe it would have been listenable. If song number 8 had lasted half a minute longer, I think I would have gone crazy. Oh, ffs, track number 9 isn't any better either...

Ffs, not another My Bloody Valentine album. This is my third of theirs that I've had so far. Ever wonder what shoegaze would sound like underwater? If so, these idiots may be for you! Super fuzzy distorted instruments and moaning. No clue what the singer is saying...... Utter garbage. The idiots couldn't even be bothered thinking up a cool album name.... "let's just use the band's initials!".... Anything else may be considered work..... Fuck these guys. Also, the prize for shittiest album artwork across all of their albums has to go to these tools. Shitty nonsense, or out of focus photos. Nothing at all about this was enjoyable. It all ran together into one 46 minute steaming pile of horse shit. I've checked, and this is their last album. They only have three. So all of their records were included on this stupid list, while many more deserving acts weren't even included on this list. Revisit your musical tastes you fucking muppets. Favourite songs: only tomorrow, Least favourite songs: this whole God awful piece of shit 1/5.....0 if I could.,

If the sound you heard from Tinnitus was an album, it would be this one. The biggest compliments I can give this album are that I was mildly indifferent to it at times and that it ended. If I never hear this album again, I will be happy and content.

So far, this is the first album I have no previous experience with. Not a band I know other than by name. The opening few tracks were boring and reminded me of late 90's garage band noise with no breaks, just constant sound with barely intelligible (or audible) vocals that drone on. One tolerable tune, but I'd never listen to it a second time. Again, not a 1001 album in my book, I can't see any reason to include it based on influence, revolutionary sound, or anything. Did they get better in later years? I can't make out why they would have had a career at all, nothing stands out. I got thru it quickly as I didn't relate to any of it, nor would I ever want to hear a single song a second time. Worst choice to date.

My headphones died in the middle of listening to this...that was the happiest I was in this last hour listening to this piece of hot garbage. Are they trying to be edgy and make bad music to make a point or are they just really bad at this? I don't know if it makes a difference for me from a rating perspective but I need to know that people don't unironically think that this is good. This is the worst kind of emo music.

I really, really dislike this band. This album is even worse than the "loveless" trash I had to endure before. Normally I am very open ans positive for various genres, but shoegaze so far seems like a crime against humanity to me. It guarantees to put me in a bad mood. I think the art behind it is to make the most annoying sound as possible and this alone annoys the hell out of me. To say something positive: "new you" can nearly considered to be a song... just not a good one.

A bunch of my favourite bands have shoegaze elements to them, so I always find myself optimistically starting albums like this, before almost immediately realising that it's depressing, droney bullshit. It's so fucking miserable! Christ. Turn that frown upside down guys! Go outside for a bit, sniff the fresh air.

I may have been hasty in those other 2. This is the first I've actually disliked. Maybe "forgettable" should rate 2 stars. That doesn't make sense either. Can we have a "kill it with fire" rating for the truly awful?

I am no MBV fan and this is some straight dookie. I despise this style of mixing where the lyrics are intentionally unrecognizable and the instruments are way too loud.

Maybe if they had turned down the distortion and not drowned out the singers this would be a good album. A real mess that just annoyed me more the longer it went on.

I listened to the new Parannoul album a couple of weeks ago. I understood as many of the lyrics of After The Magic as I did m b v, and I do not speak a word of Korean. I at least understood the vibe of After The Magic. I do not understand what m b v was going for. I’ve listened to Loveless, what music nerd hasn’t? Loveless is a good album. m b v isn’t. It’s incoherent, it’s rambling, it’s ambient in a way that shoegaze shouldn’t be. According to bad faith critics, shoegaze is a genre that shouldn’t be interesting, isn’t interesting to anyone other than those paying attention to them themselves, to their own footware. Good shoegaze is better than all the bad faith critics give it credit for. Good shoegaze is music that is worth paying attention to, because it is subtle, but also active, because it is simple, but contains multitudes. It is important for the same reason as punk, it seems amateur, but is far more complex than anyone could imagine on first listen. Loveless is good shoegaze. Loveless seems simple, but contains multitudes. After The Magic is good shoegaze. After The Magic seems simple, but contains multitudes. m b v seems simple. m b v is simple. It is from one of the sound’s pioneers, but it does not push the sound forward. It is an album that looks backward rather that forward. At times it feels like consolidation rather than progress, which would have worked, had the album been released a decade earlier. As such, it seems… simple. It seems basic. Halfway through this album I gave up on active listening and went and did housework. This is background listening. I cannot think of any other way to describe it

Didn't enjoy this one at all, but its was alright

Now will fully admit I think I was expecting something more like MCR - so that was jarring from the start. And I was listening with only one headphone on (got to keep vigilant for those Amazon deliveries) so I thought perhaps the actual music was being played in the absent earphone. But nope, not the case. I found it boring and annoying with no redeeming features.

This feels like back in the day when you'd pass out watching TV and wake up to static. "New song. I, IV, V, slow, four beat down strum, two measures per chord. Just needs incoherent lyrics. And for the love of the gods, doesn't your fuzz pedal go to eleven?" I've yet to hear shoegaze that I appreciate. I'm either not sufficiently self loathing or I'm taking the wrong drugs.

Terribly boring

- first song feels like a song from a soundtrack of a David Lynch Film. Very ambient, very ambigious and almost dreamlike. You cant tell me that this wouldn't work in movies like mulholland drive or lost highway. -Damn even the second song is ambient af, starting to see a trend here. -So far theres so much noise in songs, lot of distortion happening here - songs are kind of forgettable, not too mention I cant understand what the singer is trying to sing. Even with songs with little noise I cant understand. I was not a fan of this album. Felt like it couldve been a soundtrack to a sci-fi or neo noir film. I like the vibes but nothing stands out to me. Just seems like a bunch of noise

Was listening to one song through the ear buds while eating a bowl of cereal and was fascinated by how the crunching in my ears was more impressive than the so-called "music" I was listening to. I endured it for the sake of the process. I now have an something to represent how bad a recording can be. Now, I'll listen to some Dylan and hope my ears will forgive me for what I put them through.

There’s a reason the shoegaze genre is the lowest ranked genre on this site. This is it. It just drones on and on and you can’t even tell it’s the next song except for the fact that you know you ended the previous one by pressing next halfway through. Imagine waking up and thinking “you know what will be really groundbreaking? Having vocals in a song that you can hear someone is singing but because the mix makes them super low, and I just stone on and on, no one can tell what I’m saying, but not in a cool way like metal or grunge, just in a way that makes the record sound unfinished. That would be really cool.”

I understand "Loveless" being on here, but this is like its afterbirth being delivered 22 years later. I don't want to listen to this musical placenta.
