Reviews (page 9 of 9)

They say this is the go-to album for AeroSmith . Some great , classic tracks : Walk this Way ,Sweet Emotion . I just can’t stand their ballads . Recently bought the album , Pump and that’s awful .

Alright I suppose.

Another album that furthers my newfound understanding that on the whole, not that into Aerosmith outside of the handful of tracks I really like. One of them, 'Walk This Way', is here but nothing else here is something I'd choose to listen to again. Wouldn't go out of the way to turn off but would fully support the decision to switch to something else.

My first impression is that I know why they didn't make an impression in Oz. We had so many bands that knew how to rock. First two tracks - meh. A little bit of life in the third, but I'm still struggling to stay awake. "Walk This Way" sounded much better in 1986. Maybe it's the production, because there are some good songs trying to get out, but it sounds pretty pedestrian except for "Round and Round," which is good rock.

Fun at times, sure. And Sweet Emotion is a bumping track. But overall just ok.

Not my favourite

Not very good

Their most listenable album, solely because of the title track and Walk This Way

Tiene 4 rolas chidas.

all round not a massive fan of Aerosmith

Its kind of difficult to judge this one as I didnt grow up with it or listen to it as an album. walk this way and sweet emotion are obvious hits but the rest dont even sound like they belong on the same album. very tough to grade, if i can give the beatles a 2, then i can with this too.

Not as bad as I was expecting.

I listened to this album once after finding R.E.M.'s cover of the title track. Many "top album" lists of the 70s include this record. This album is a solid example of the best musicianship from the band. My favorite track by Aerosmith ("Sweet Emotion") is on this album. I have heard at least one other album in full from Aerosmith, and a variety of their singles. The music on the album is good, but I can't seem to get past the lyrics that I know or my suspicions of what may be in the lyrics that I don't know. Repeated exposure to Steven Tyler further cements his place in my mind as a creep -ick. The music gets 4 stars, but the album as a whole gets 2.

This fucking sucked to be honest. There was nothing interesting or enjoyable about it. Not sure why it is on this list. 2 stars.

Guess I didn’t save that lay on about the motorcycle and the road. It’s okay, the songs rate all I need to remember. These songs were in Armageddon. A pretty good album for a half an hour. Not all my cup of tea but songs I can listen to.

Poor timing with some bleak allegations against Steven Tyler, but got to #TrustTheProcess. Listened all the way... passed me by a bit.

Not great. Wouldn’t bother listening again

didnt like this cos i dont like aerosmith oops

The album was all over the place. Some good, some bad.

rock de padre? rock de padre

I've listened to all aerosmith albums when i was 14 lol i really liked their singles but the album tracks didn't do much for me and its the same now, nothing awful but i wouldnt come back to it

No matter how many times I try, just can’t get into them

It was quite nice. But nothing standout or notable.

Liked it less than I thought I would. I guess I was right all those years...

Fairly generic 70s rock and roll. Wouldn't listen again. Steven Tyler had a better voice back then, less rasping

Straighte Geschichte; nicht schlecht, aber wieder der Verdacht, dass die Angst vor der Empörung darüber, einen solch über Jahrzehnte profilierten Namen weggelassen zu haben, zumindest einen Listenplatz garantiert hat. Und dann kommt „Walk this way“ daher und Boom! Legendengeburt! Und was davor im Album eher Classic war, wird danach... ...classy 2.4

Ni fú ni fá.

The quintessential middle school boy rock album. GET IT? SEX! GET IT? CUM! DO YOU GET IT? DO. YOU. GET. IT???

I mean, at this point we all knew this was coming, I'm not a fan of hair bands but Aerosmith did it better than most, they seem to have a bit more groove and funk to them. certainly more so than Van Halen who we had last week. scarves and botox out of 5

two good songs but nothing else

Not a fan. I can’t get into that 70s rock era so it’s hard for me to care.

Aerosmith are not my jam at all. I listened to a few songs on the album but couldn't finish it. A lot of Classic Rock to me is bland and repetitive and some of the lyricism is gross. Aerosmith are not a musically great band and this album is testament.

the epitomy of classic rock. nty

uhhhh didn't finish it it's okay meh

Steven Tyler is a creep … research his history with underage women.

emmm nop

Sweet Emotion is an all timer and Big Ten Inch Record has always made me laugh but the rest of this album just doesn’t hit. Bluesy and goofy but I’ll pass thanks. *I originally gave this album 3 stars but then I read this bozos 5 star review and had to bump mine down to a 1 to balance it out. “ People are ragging on this album but it's A) a lot of fun [debatable], B) has a few hits on it that are still played [so?], C) one of the bigger influential albums of all time [citation needed], and D) Walk This Way is one of the greatest hard rock songs of all time [define hard rock]. If we're going to judge musicians on their non-music actions then we might as well shut it all down. Grow the fuck up.” Yes I do think we should judge artists on their actions outside of their art. It’s fucking stupid not to? There’s lots of music and movies and art out there. You can let go of Aerosmith or Michael Jackson or Roman Polanski or Woody Allen… it’s okay. Or you can weirdly die on a hill defending them. A pedo is a pedo is a pedo

Dreary

One from my Mt Rushmore of hated bands. Generic cock rock Stones / Zeppelin rip off that got way overplayed and just sucks. Sweet Emotion would be ok if I hadn't heard 14 million times, the guitar solos are good in that classic rock style, the bass rips. But its dominated by the grating vocals and banal riffs so it's just a boring tediously high energy slog.

I didn't know about the accusations against Steven Tyler, and I'm horrified. And since Aerosmith's music leans heavily into sleaze anyway, I'm not even going to try to separate the art from the artist.

Fuck these guys.

It brings me so much joy to know that this is the last Aerosmith album I have to suffer through while participating in this endeavour. I'm so sick of their style, loud, flashy guitars, screeching vocals, and in all of that, absolutely no soul, substance, or originality. Their music is everything that textbook bad music has; repetitive, annoying, and just straight up ear grating. I get that this kind of music was the most popular thing in the world at the time, but in 2026 there's absolutely no reason to be listening to this shit anymore.

Ties with AC/DC for the title of the blandest rock band of all time Their is just nothing interesting abouth this band or their music, like, at all. The guitar solos are absolute shit. The only thing you should abouth this band is that Steven Tyler is a pedophile.

I can't stand Aerosmith. It's like Zeppelin, but somehow dumber, screechier, and more perverted. No thank you!

lol cmon, delete this bs

Not a fair assessment just bc a bad day

Nope. Music for nonces, made by nonces. I really tried to separate the art from the artist here but each song either made me roll my eyes or my skin crawl.

le guitar riff de Walk this Way est quand même cunty, Round And Round et You See Me Crying sont tolérables malgré la voix irritante de Steven Tyler, mais sinon c'était vraiment souffrant comme expérience et j'arrive pas à trouver une autre redeeming quality. je l'ai pas réécouté et j'ai pas porté attention aux paroles donc je suis peut-être injuste but Steven Tyler is a pedo donc je vais quand même dormir sur mes deux oreilles malgré cette offense. chanson préférée : Round And Round mentions honorables : ce doux moment à la trente-septième minute où la musique laisse place au silence

Do toys really play together when nobody is about? Nice concept unlike this album. 1/5 1/3/26

Dreadful.

Pretty tedious, even bloated. Riffs aren't that good, some of the wordsmithing is a bit interesting but swaggering lothario singing about rock touring lifestyle is not appealing. This might be better than some other stadium rock of the era, that is very faint praise. I knew Walk This Way because of the cross-over, Rick Rubin had good intuition and remarkable ability to deliver, his version punches a lot harder than the original on this album. Could hardly wait for this to be over. (Favourite song: No More No More.) 1/10

Contains the only good Aerosmith song, Sweet Emotion, which can’t make up for every other Aerosmith song.

TRUÑACO!

Round And Round was so annoying that I refuse to give this album anything above a 1. Sweet Emotion is overrated. Walk This Way is also overrated, and it sucks. This album will never be played again.

Armageddon was a sick movie, but I cannot support this.

Some decent rockers/playing etc but the older I get the less I tend to gravitate to these blues rock / dad bands.

Decent. Wish they weren't creeps

"Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotions" are legit good songs; the rest is meh at best. Steven Tyler is a pedophile and I've always thought Aerosmith were terribly overrated. This album deserves a 2 or 3, but this is rated too high by everyone else. I'm giving it a 1 to try to bring that back down.

Just no, these guys are no talented. Boring to the max!

Ugh. I really want to like it but it just falls so flat. This seems to be their attempt at Glam Rock but it doesn't have the fun or adventure that goes with the aesthetic. The title track is good and maybe a few others, but that's about it. And I can go the rest of my life without ever hearing Walk This Way again. You know what? Screw this band and this album. Steven Tyler is a creepy predator. It was gonna lose a star or two just for that.

I don't like american hard rock, but I've never think an album of the genre would drain my energies as much as this one did. It is so painfully boring and ordinary. I expected this album to be generic, but at least I thought it would have great vocals in it. After all, Steven Tyler is the guy who sings 'Dream On', a famous song due to its notorious singing performance. But this album has nothing like that. Is incredibly lacking in power, both from the instruments and the voice. Is full of generic riffs, generic solos, generic lyrics, generic everything. I have to say that there are some decent moments. The intro riff in 'Toys in the attic' is quite lively (but has the worst singing of the whole record); the bass intro in 'Sweet Emotion' is cool and the guitar riff in 'Round and Round' is quite heavy; but all these moments of enjoyment are so short that they are not worth keeping in mind. There is also 'Walk this Way' which has the classic riff everyone loves. However, there's no reason to listen to this version when Run D.M.C's one exists. It is so much better. The rappers bring a way more energy and the chorus in the real version is incredibly bland in comparison. Before giving my final thoughts, I want to mention the worst moment in the whole album. I think 'Big Ten Rich Record' is incredibly pathetic and unfunny. Listening to the singer talk about his dick is just disgusting. In conclusion. Terrible album. It is super bland and energy draining.

I can smell this album. It smells like the cover looks. Cigarettes, dusty shit, gross guys. Steven Tyler should be in prison for what he did to women. Joe Perry, as much of an asshole as he is too, is an absolutely sick guitarist and artist. The classics, Walk this Way and Sweet Emotion are pretty great sounding, but the rest of this album kinda blows. The lyrics are also this really uncomfortable level of sexuality given what we know about the members of the band. I've always kinda hated Aerosmith.

Most of the big bands from classic rock's golden era have something that makes them unique, but I struggle to find what that is for Aerosmith, if it exists. "Adam's Apple" has some cool backing horns, but most of the songs follow the standard rock formula and are indistinguishable from most songs on rock raido. The guitar solos are good, the best part of the album; they're enough to trick you into thinking a song is decent. There are some good guitar licks, but no memorable riffs and almost no memorable choruses. Steven Tyler's voice is raspy and a bit grating, and the lyrics rely enough on innuendo for it to get old. And of course there's a sappy overdramatic ballad at the end. There is good rock from this era but this album is proof there's also stuff that's not worth remembering.

This one sucked, a long hard D- I expected nothing less from a group that created Honking On Bobo.

Best thing about this album is Walk this Way (when they performed it with Run DMC) so maybe there really isn't anything at all on this album.. Big Ten Inch Record is a ridiculously stupid song and I believe I lost IQ points listening to it.

Uff…

Steven Tyler is a pedophile

my face when listening to this album: >:(

"Tyler and Weinstein should get fucked up in a cell for the rest they life"

Aerosmith was my first concert in middle school. I now hate them.

Miserably dry cock rock. The type that just doesn't have much of a soul.

Gross lyrically. Boring musically. Good news for the world they are finally done.

Gonna guess there are too many songs about sex with teenagers on here

Aerosmith more appropriately belong in the marketers hall of fame than the rock and roll one. They are a gimmick. An imitation of a rock band. They are skilled musicians, virtuosos in some ways, who understand iconography and anthemic sonography very well, and the instincts to show off their chops or create sub-Thuragood cliche rock clash on this album, with musicianship often losing. Why is it this Aerosmith album that we’re choosing to put in the time capsule and not Get A Grip or Nine Lives or something that more accurately portrays who they are when they stopped pretending they weren’t Beatles fans? Even this album can’t hide it with the harmonies on Sweet Emotion (the only stand out track) giving up the ghost and the horns on the otherwise idiotic “Adam’s Apple” clearly pinched directly from “Savoy Truffle.” It’s a juvenile record by people pretending to be more juvenile than they in a shrewd salesmanship maneuver.

I used to have this album on repeat in middle school and never need to revisit it again. It lives in my head as the word “toys” on endless repeat.

Hoary old rock rubbish.

If only the band were locked in the attic.

Yesterday when I reviewed Q-Tip’s album my mind was kind of wandering. Not only did I just throw out a one-sentence vaguely positive review, for an album that certainly deserved more, but I also I meant to click 4 stars and I accidentally clicked 3. Two mistakes. That’s life. Anyway Aerosmith sucks.

The only good thing to come from Aerosmith is Liv Tyler

Как будто и не слушал. Грустно, когда самое приятное в альбоме - то, что он закончился. Лучшая песня - Sweet Emotion.

This is killing me! I knew I didn't like Aerosmith, but I hadn't realized how painful it would be to hear more than one song in a row.

FUCK! I've been dreading this day. The day I have to listen to a band I absolutely detest. Why am I putting myself through this? I listened to the whole album. My opinion hasn't changed one iota. Nor, could I find a single redeeming quality about this record. Maybe 'Walk This Way' makes me think of RUN DMC, and I like them. But it's not enough. FUCKING ZERO STARS!

Dreading this wholeheartedly. Genuinely unlistenable garbage. If you like Aerosmith, send me your address and I will come beat the shit out of you until you are dead free of charge.

Sweet Emotion, Walk this Way, and some other songs. Sweet Emotion was done better by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones in the mid-90s Walk this Way was far superior with Run DMC.

I have such a low opinion of them so I was surprised that this isn't completely dreadful but... I'm not fussed by it at all so it still gets a 1

I enjoyed this album as much as I thought I would, which is almost not at all. Save this one for a bowling alley somewhere in northern Minnesota and I could MAYBE get into it. Sweet Emotion is a nice song, but Big Ten Inch Record right before absolutely ruins it lol. SO many clunkers on this album. Favorite tracks: - Sweet Emotion

Found the second half of the album better than the first but it’s still not a great album. Don’t think I’ll listen to this ever again.

I would never listen to this

Some of this was not as bad as I expected, but it's still incredibly derivative and bad. The innuendo is not clever or cute.

i was neutral at first and then i lost patience. why he gotta holler like that. the only good part was the first 50 seconds of sweet emotion

Sweet Emotion is okay but this is a bland album from one of rock's most mid bands. Its a perfectly average rock album which somehow makes it worse than merely being a "bad" album.

I used to think I hated Aerosmith. Now I definitely do

Scratching my head as to why this is on the list of 1001? Middle-of-the-road rock. Nothing special ...Except for Walk This Way, which is very cool - but the version with Run DMC was more exciting - and some okay riffs here and there. As a whole album, this is a poor man's Rolling Stones.

Aerosmith es una banda que nunca he podido entender. Su música siempre me ha parecido la antítesis de lo cool. Walk this way is super fucking weird.

I'm a simple man; I see Aerosmith, I shit talk Aerosmith.

Strange mix of blues and rock. Gets a bit beefy and sabbath-esque towards the end. Walk this Way without Run DMC is just abysmal.

Talented musicians and Steven Tyler making the dullest butt-rock imaginable. The best song on the album sounds like their A&R man demanded a Zeppelin Lite tune for radio. And the lyrics probably dropped my IQ by a whole standard deviation, which I unfortunately no longer understand.

Oh god, not another Aerosmith album. Despite the band's energetic enthusiasm, I found this a dull album that doesn't interest me.

I will never understand how this band is so highly rated, or even remembered. They should have been forgotten and left in the 70s. They had a couple hits but the rest of their music is just not good. A one bit wonder band that somehow clung to relevance.

I didn't know this was the album that has walk this way on it. It's an interesting choice in artwork, that's for sure. I don't think I've listened to any Aerosmith album all the way through before. Don't have high hopes to be honest. There's some weird blues stuff going on here and it's not all that interesting or original, it's almost like someone said they couldn't play blues and they just copied an old song to show they could. This feels like a band that can't figure out which way they want to go with their music. Not a huge fan. 1/5

Did not enjoy this at all

I think the world would be a better place if Aerosmith never left the Boston bars.

Blech!

Didn’t listen lol

Not my cup of tea.

Aeroshit

Overall: I'm not sure I've ever heard this entire album, unless my parents owned and played it. Aside from the 2 hits and the below mentioned tracks, I could do without this entire record and struggled to not skip everything that came after Sweet Emotion. Track Breakdown: Toys in the Attic - Right out of the gate on this title track, driving solos and love that amazing bass breakdown @ 1:44 Big Ten Inch Record - I surprisingly enjoyed this track and its big band vibe.

Other than Sweet Emotion, is there any reason to listen to this? No. One star for one song.

skipping. this band is wildly overrated

not my cup of tea

I was ready to give this the benefit of the doubt, the title track had the R.E.M. stamp of approval. And that song is perfectly fine, as were the other singles. But songs like 12 Inch which pair gross double entendre with the laziest 12 bar blues and the reprehensible transphobia of Adams Apple destroy any minuscule goodwill those songs may have offered. This does not belong anywhere near this list

Walk This Way can’t fix this mess. This is just bad. Steven Tyler is not good. Joe Perry is decent. These songs are not good. I wanted to give this a 2, but the more I listened, the more I hated it.

чистейшая хуета

Not a great fan. Prefer aerosmirhs other work.

80s hair band. Yuck

Can’t get past Steven Tyler. I’ve never liked this band

THIS SUCKS

Before even listening to this I just have to question, how have I already gotten three Aerosmith albums on this list? I'm not a fan of their music, I think Steven Tyler is a proven creep (look up his current lawsuit) and I really didn't think I'd be getting another album of theirs in this list. Once again, Aerosmith is just not my thing. The few standouts were their major hits and I'll admit those are decent. I was disappointed that this version of 'Walk This Way' was without Run DMC, which I didn't even realize existed. Standout Tracks: Walk This Way, Sweet Emotion

This was a bit of a test for me as I had a very negative opinion of Steven Tyler. So this was a case of trying to separate the art from the artist. I thought that ‘Sweet Emotion’ was one hell of a great track but when I listened to the lyrics it just made me cringe! Similar with ‘Round & Round’ - the lyrics about a 16 year old…and ‘Walk this Way’ about schoolgirls. He was 27 when this was released. Lyrics and story telling is a huge part of why I enjoy music, and this was just too sleazy against the backdrop of his life choices. It just made it too difficult to enjoy the art. I tried, but I failed!

I'm going in with a bad taste in my mouth cause I truely hate Steven Tyler's voice. Just loathe it. I was truly hoping to find some enjoyment in the instrumentals but even in that front Aerosmith totally drops thr ball. Everything is so simple and that hurts this record. Mixed with the overproduction it's just a recipe for some of the worst music I've heard in a while. Even with some all time classics like sweet emotion, and walk this way I still have zero interest in ever revisiting anything off this record. I hate it 1*

It is absolutely wild that people like this band and this album and that it can be considered anywhere near essential. What a boring pandering sound. Anything more than zero would be too many Aerosmith albums on this list, and this is the third one I've received so far, please make it stop.

I ALREADY RATED THIS YOU IDIOTS

This album was underwhelming across the board. Personally, I just find Steven Tyler’s voice, and Aerosmith as a whole, to be grating. The only standout moment I found was the harmony on Sweet Emotion’s chorus. I didn’t find a single song I could look back on and say, “Hey, that’s a good song.” 1.5/10

Steven Tyler’s vocal inflections are way to over the top for me, and I don’t think there’s anything else redeeming about this record. The instrumentals all remind me of Home Depot. Hard to ignore the sexual assault of a minor that was going on around this time when so many of they lyrics are about trying to fuck vulnerable women. Gross. Cover Art: 5/10 👍: Sweet Emotion can be cool in some contexts 👎: everything else 🤮: the verses of walk this way

God nope no thank you

Нет времени слушать музыку которая была записана не для меня. Вок зыс вэй конечно хорошая

no thank you. hate it

Not a huge ArrowSmith fan

Musically it's quite good but the lyrics are just gross

Really poor

Run DMC version is better. Easily a forgettable album

I guess this is better than their later nonsense. I had a little goodwill for them because when I was a kid learning to play their riffs were really fun. Actually listening to the record is not worth the effort though—no hidden gems. I feel like I’m now absolved from having to keep an open mind about this band, so at least I got that out of it.

No thanks

Aerosmith represents the worst type of ‘Murican rock. This is pure shite.

Possono insistere a farmi sentire sti cazzo di aerosmith, ma son noiosi.

I'm confused why this album is on the list. This was released ten or twelve years before any of Aerosmith's popular albums. The only thing this album has going for it is the original version of "Walk This Way", but even that isn't anywhere near as good as the Cameo version.

Hard pass

This really did nothing for me, and "Walk This Way" was better when Run DMC did it :(

Steven Tyler is gay.

Fuuuuuuck these guys

thanks I hate it

Wow the variety. Perfect for an all-day hangout.
