Yeh, ‘Toys In The Attic’ is OK, I guess. Other than ‘Walk This Way’ and ‘Sweet Emotion’ there’s nothing else here that I find really memorable.

It's here because it has two of the most ubiquitous, quintessential songs in the entire rock cannon. Interesting how Sweet Emotion has become more of a legacy song for the band (I credit it's appearance at the beginning of Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused), but Walk This Way still slaps. Everything else begs to be skipped. The Toxic Twins were just Glimmer Twin wannabes.

Such a hit and miss band. When they're good (and they can be) they sound like themselves. When they're not, they sound like very bad Led Zeppelin or bad Rolling Stones. It's always amazing to listen to ST's vocals on 'Dream On' (as later covered by The Mission!) and then listen to how coke-ravaged his voice is by the time they did this album a couple of years later. This is such a mixed bag. I think they found their true place in the '80s with 'Permanent Vacation' and 'Pump' (with a few bangers on '93's 'Get a Grip'), with MTV playing a large part.

Heard before: yes I feel the same way about Aerosmith as I do the Rolling Stones. There’s some kind of mass hysteria by which everyone convinces themselves and each other that the bands are great, but they’re actually good. This is probably one of Aerosmith’s better albums. There’s some nice guitar work and drumming on here. There’s a couple of missteps- not a big fan of the novelty Big Ten Inch track. It’s neither good nor funny. I definitely see why people like this. It's not really my thing, but overall I found it decently enjoyable. Drops off in quality after Sweet Emotion, and I downright disliked You See Me Crying.

Truly gone fishing. My only other Aerosmith experience was playing that truck sex album and saying "this fucking sucks", so pleasantly surprised with this one. A fun record. Has those two songs everybody's heard before, has a song about the singer's massive schlong and having a metric ton of sex, has a song that makes you go "Wait hold on, who turned on Led Zeppelin?" Am I talking about this album or literally any other rock album from 1975? Who cares. I still enjoyed it.

Sweet Emotion is an amazing song, but the rest of the album did not impress

The super hits like Sweet Emotion and Walk this Way are really great songs. There's a reason they're super hits. And Round and Round spoke to me. But the rest was just kind of ok. Not super impressive. This might be the first time I've listened to an Aerosmith album from start to finish.

The best Aerosmith record, hands down. Rocking, catchy, and it doesn't overstay its welcome. The real hits are divvied up throughout the album nicely so you're never left in a lull. Steven Tyler's vocals are top notch and probably the best they were in his tenure with the band. When I'm looking for quality rock, this is one of the albums I will always turn to.

Pleasantly surprised at quite a lot of this - Clearly finding their sound but I prefer a lot of the routes they went down on this album to some of the more tired stuff that they come out with later. A lot of this wouldn't sound out of place on a 90s album (and probably influenced a lot). Great energy and musicality. A couple of cringey bits, but you'll always get that with a band like this.

It's got those 2 singles, you know, the ones you've heard a thousand times? Also there's some filler, too. Overall kind of boring, but not terrible.

Pretty good rock album. Some big hits and only 1 obvious filler track. Doesn't overstay its welcome at 39 minutes. Nice full orchestra track to conclude the album.

Good album in the dawn of Aerosmith career. I like its rock style, in the rise of hard rock, there combined energy with certain balance.

Another one of Aerosmiths really solid 70s releases with some of their biggest hits. Not quite the same consistency as their next album Rocks, but it's still very fun. Favorites: "Toys In The Attic", "Walk This Way", "Sweet Emotion"

Fun rock album. The best I've heard the band and enjoyable from start to finish

If you were to make a movie set in the 70's about a mid-western stripper and her dysfunctional guitar playing, whiskey drinking boyfriend looking to strike it big as a pro darts player, while being on the run from her trucker stepfather, and also dodging the law along the way, breaking up, getting back together, finally riding off into the sunset together, this might be the soundtrack for you.

Not what I was expecting. It's far more enjoyable than any of their 80's stuff I was clenching my teeth to listen to. It has half decent guitars and a cool 70's Rock (even blues) vibe. And of course there's the Mega hits (Walk and Easy) which goes to prove your pre-conceived ideas can be wrong.

This was okay, pretty enjoyable but not something I'd listen to again. At times I considered going up to 3.5, but it was too cheesy overall to get there.

Toys in the Attack has two massive songs (one made better by the RunDMC mix) and a bunch of other stuff that was fine, though casual Aerosmith fans wouldn't realise it was them I think, such was the style. 3/5.

Listened to this not long after the generator first gave it to us. Clearly didn't generate a huge amount of energy in me! That said, listening to it again now, it's decent - not outstanding, but fits together nicely, doesn't outstay its welcome, and Walk This Way / Sweet Emotion elevate it a level. 3/5.

Walk This Way, Sweet Emotion

Kinda meh. A few decent to strong songs in my opinion, but too few to make it worth coming back to probably. 4/10

Ok upfront. I didn't think I was going to like this but its pretty ace. Inventive, it grooves, 2 classics and not a duff track amongst the rest. Solid 4. The rhythm is tight and driving and the songs are diverse but do work as a coherent album. Overall I will play this again and is the ultimate test of a 4 album.

Aerosmith was the first band that I ever fell (briefly) in love with, so it's weird to reflect on their early career now that I've decidedly lost interest in the band that I was so infatuated with in the early-mid 90s. This is much more straightforward blues rock than I would have anticipated. Very much of its time and not showing many of the elements that would define their style in the 80s and 90s. Walk This Way is a notable exception, which is appropriate since that sound would kick start their success in the 80s. Sweet Emotion is another highlight of the album that sounds more like 80s Aerosmith. The rest of the album sucks ass and you can quote me on that (my name is Bill Gates) 3/5 and the two good songs on this album are pulling a lot of weight

Love Aerosmith but never listened a full album of them. Not disappointed after this one. Walk this way is a banger, but the other songs were good too. Overall 3.5 or 4 somewhere in between. Favourite songs: - Walk this way - Big ten inch record - Sweet emotion

A fun, unpretentious rock album. The first half dips into blues and country, and the second half is more musically ambitious. In the past I haven't thought much of Aerosmith but I was impressed by how comfortably they slip in and out of styles. The big hits "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion" are the clear standouts but I also enjoyed the heavy metal crunch of "Round and Round." It's a first-rate Led Zeppelin knock-off. And "You See Me Crying" is an excellent example of that blown-out string-accompanied 70's drama. Aerosmith don't seem to take themselves too seriously, which adds to their appeal for me. I rolled my eyes at "Big Ten Inch Record," but was surprised to learn that it's a cover of a song from 1952! (The original by Bull Moose Jackson is just as silly.) So Aerosmith aren't just goofy horndogs, they're also scholars of goofy horndogs past!

I went into this one only knowing their two big hits (which are insanely BIG hits… like who doesn’t know “Walk this way”, and have you ever seen a rock n roll playlist without “Sweet emotion” on it?!) The rest of the album is pretty great, too, particularly the guitar licks. Solid rock.

Pros: - Yet another album I have not heard from start to end. I will probably stop mentioning that since it's becoming common. - It's more like in-your-face rock than i remember. I like the energy shift from the first track into the second track. I'm really big on the idea that a good album should have an upbeat song for it's first or second track - Amazingly crisp production. Guess I've never heard "walk this way" on nice speakers/headphones but WOW is it crisp. Cons: Misc:

Saw them at the Texxas Jam in 87, when the lineup was Tesla, Poison, Whitesnake, Aerosmith, and the headliner, Boston. The vendors were selling t-shirts that had misspelled "Poisson". Maybe they were into fish. Who knows? They also misspelled Texas... When Aerosmith played their set, they were so electric everyone forgot the headliner was yet to take the stage. And when they played Walk This Way... well, it was Texas heat times 25. Boston was touring in support of Third Stage, but I'm sure it was the turning point of one Boston band overtaking another band out of Boston... on their way to making it big.

Very surprised. There really isn't any filler on this album. Even Uncle Salty, Adam's Apple, No More No More, and Round and Round... they all hold their own. The openings for Sweet Emotion and Walk This Way are creative and impactful. Toys in the Attic is the only song i could pass on, mostly because i like R.E.M.'s cover of it better. Even the ballad is solid. Found this really enjoyable rock record.

Another album that furthers my newfound understanding that on the whole, not that into Aerosmith outside of the handful of tracks I really like. One of them, 'Walk This Way', is here but nothing else here is something I'd choose to listen to again. Wouldn't go out of the way to turn off but would fully support the decision to switch to something else.

Aersomith have some bangers. But they're littered between mediocre tracks.

As an aerosmith fan, I'm glad quite familar with this album. Though this one almost feels like a greatest hits album, with it's mix of genres via it's song and mismatched songs.

My first impression is that I know why they didn't make an impression in Oz. We had so many bands that knew how to rock. First two tracks - meh. A little bit of life in the third, but I'm still struggling to stay awake. "Walk This Way" sounded much better in 1986. Maybe it's the production, because there are some good songs trying to get out, but it sounds pretty pedestrian except for "Round and Round," which is good rock.

Great fun, classic 80's

Hey ! I got this CD at home. It's nice somehow, probably one of Aerosmith's best albums. It's got the original version of "Rock This Way" in it. The thing is, should Aerosmith be included in a list of 1001 essential albums to listen to? No. And this here is why I won't say anything further about this record. Please, Dimery and associates, check your priorities a little. You need room for genuinely great or moving or grounsbreaking albums. You can't waste it like this. In terms of Aerosmith albums, this is a strong candidate for their best. Least filler and fairly consistent. But that doesn't mean any of the songs are anything to write home about. "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion" are well-deserved hits, and I'm glad they were re-popularized by Run-DMC, they're catchy and loud. The other tracks are mostly decent... it's polished and coordinated, but dull and uneventful. Their influences are very obvious. It's pretty safe blues rock mixed in with glam rock. They have hooks and riffs that stick out to any listener in all their songs. It's very much popular and riding on the wave of success of their predecessors. It's no surprise that their comeback in the late 80s was modeled on the very same concepts.

Je mets quand même 2/5 parce que c'est pas désagrêable non plus.

Crazy

It is not unusual to hear an album and either wait for it to get good, or skip to the favorite songs. This album is no exception, up and to the point "Walk This Way" is reached, Aerosmith is a hard rocking chore to get through and perhaps that is what lends the song its dominating popularity for how sweet of a reward it is to have gotten there at all. Small break in between, "Sweet Emotion" is on deck and from there whatever Aerosmith desires one had has been likely satiated without so much as a thought to the rest of the album. The review may seem indifferent or negative, so for the sake of objectivity be reminded that it is not often that an album produces two immensely popular tracks that stand on their own. Unless one is an Aerosmith fan, it is not likely that the radio listener even knows that both songs came from the same album, nor would they know that it was from 1975. Fast forward to the 90s, Aerosmith achieved an unlikely popularity and relevance again having followed the formula that "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion" set forth, one can certainly trace the lineage of their popularity back to this album.

Some classics but also some meh songs

So happy to know that Aerosmith didn't always suck super hard. They were a scrappy and hungry rock band once. Cool! It's like all the things about Aerosmith are here, just toned down and tasteful. Never in my life did I think I'd be throwing a 4/5 down for the 'smith! Also, "Walk this Way" is such a jam. I love it.

I don’t know that I’ve ever listened to this album all the way through, but it’s pretty great. 70s Aerosmith checks a lot of boxes for the time. It’s still blues-heavy like the Stones (complete with horns and harmonicas), but they also stand right up with other psychedelic/glam rock bands (a la Sweet Emotion). Plus, you can hear the beginnings of 80s hair bands, power ballads, and heavy metal. I love albums like this - you can hear where it came from and where it’s going.

Back in the 70s the boys loved this album because Boston's Aerosmith brought The Rolling Stones sound to an American band. The girls loved this album because of Steven Tyler and his big ten-inch… record. Great rocking album with instant classics Sweet Emotion and Walk This Way. 3.75/5.

I like Aerosmith well enough so was happy to see this was today's album. When it got going though I found I wasn't enjoying it too much. Very jangly guitars, the first 3 songs were all just not doing it for me. Walk This Way and Sweet Emotion are obviously great songs and was nice to have them in the list, 10 Inch Record is a weird ragtime tune with not at all subtle innuendo. I did like No More No More, and Round and Round. Very up and down album, just couldn't grab me but had some solid moments in there.

Aerosmith sounds like, well, Aerosmith. I know it's not saying much, but their sounds are great and I'd put this on when I don't know what to listen.

Only giving a three for Walk This Way and Sweet Emotions. Rest of the album is ho-hum.

It's only as good as its weakest link. I could've listened to this a couple times more but then I heard ST talking about his "big" 10-inch... I'm no penis expert but I think Long Dong Silver and John Holmes were bigger than ten inches. All in all, I liked most of this album, but had to deduct a star for the cockiness.

"Toys in the Attic" is very much carried by "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion." I am so used to the Run DMC version that the original "Walk This Way" sounds a little weird, but "Sweet Emotion" is a six-star absolute classic. However, these two hits are not enough to carry the album to a more re-listenable level. "Big Ten Inch Record" is funny, in a "should I be bothered by this" kind of way, but the one pleasant standout was "Round and Round," with a grunge metal edge that could have been a Soundgarden inspiration... it was bizarre to follow that up with the Elton John-ish lead-in of "You See Me Crying." (Well... it turns out "Big Ten Inch Record" is a cover of a Bull Moose Jackson song from 1952. Jackson's other songs include "I Want a Bowlegged Woman." I am now half-way between appreciating it more for its full context and appreciating it less for another case of white rockers appropriating a black musicians song.)

Stylistically "Big Ten Inch Record" was jarring both for the lyrics and the sound. It's like someone plunked a Jive song down in the middle of a rock/blues album. Turns out there is a reason it doesn't sound like the rest of the album, it was a cover.

This album starts off like a roller coaster electromagnetically launched out of the start house. The guitars on Toys In The Attic (song) are engaging right from the get go. Uncle Salty starts out a bit slow but then by the end I quite enjoyed it. The bluesy Big Ten Inch Record is a great cover, but I don’t think the lyrics are about an LP. Steven Tyler claims he said “cept on my big ten inch…” I definitely heard suck like everyone else. Walk This Way and Sweet Emotion are all-time classics while You See Me Crying is a nice ballad with piano and backing orchestra. Overall I really like 3 songs, like 3 songs, and enjoy, but am somewhat indifferent to, 3 songs.

Fun listen

Not my favourite

So this album has two of the best rock songs ever written (Walk This Way and Sweet Emotion, as if there any doubt) and then some other songs. With the exception of 10 Inch Record, none of them are terrible - even the aforementioned is an amusing music hall pastiche. But the rest is just holding for the best bits.

Great album. Toys one of my favorites with No More No More. Don't remember Round and Round but dig it

My first listen from this album was “Big Ten Inch Record” over at my friend Damon Marco’s house. Even at the tender age of 11, I got the joke. My friends and I all thought it was the coolest song ever recorded and always made the effort to play it out of earshot of our parents. The rest of the album grew on us too. Two mega hits, a couple of closet classics and solid Rock n Roll throughout. The guitars on Round and Round have a Sweet Sabbath vibe. Also great that Run DMC originally thought the name of this band was “Toys in the Attic”… Easy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I like to tease and roll my eyes at Aerosmith because I think the band and a lot of their hits have been overplayed and overrated, but damn the hard blues rock groove to open the album was killer! Truly unfortunate they let that energy die with Uncle Salty right after. I am still sick of Walk This Way, but it's groove is undeniable. || The lyrics are wildly, unabashedly horny throughout (esp big 10 inch record lol) which tracks with the era but is also more unsettling now considering some of Stephen Tyler's more salacious and predatory history (look up Julia Holcomb). || A few real good stand out songs and riffs make up for some filler. 3.5. I would round up to 4, but I already rated another Aerosmith album (Pump) a 5, and I don't think this album adds anything to the list that Pump doesn't.

Probably Aerosmith’s best album yet still not an album that I thoroughly enjoy. Walk this way and sweet emotion are some of their best songs. Steven Tyler still finds a way to do some annoying things in this one. The sound was pretty good thought out but still just a over average to me. 6.8/10

If you are into the melding point between Southern and classic rock, here it is. Walk This Way is too big to be ignored. The boogie is real on Big Ten Inch Record. Sweet Emotion is the other pillar of this album. It's just not something I'm interested in. The singles keep this from being a 2 star.

I've always hated the riff in sweet emotion with the weird backwards bit in it... also listening to this after Led Zeppelin iV, it just doesn't compare on any level....Walk this way basically saves this one

Its kind of difficult to judge this one as I didnt grow up with it or listen to it as an album. walk this way and sweet emotion are obvious hits but the rest dont even sound like they belong on the same album. very tough to grade, if i can give the beatles a 2, then i can with this too.

a solid mid 70s classic rock album - doesn't swing as much as I had remembered it as doing.

Cool album! Every track feels unique and special. I'd previously only heard Aerosmiths hits, but that should include this entire album. The only weakness I feel the album has is the opening title track. It feels a little uninspired imo. Otherwise a VERY solid release.

This album is really awesome. I enjoyed it today while driving from Ft Lauderdale on i-95 back home to Jensen Beach. I had already had 2 songs from this album in my Liked songs. I added Uncle Salty to that list today. The guitars are incredible. What a time that was to be alive! My mom graduated high school the year this album came out. 1975.

Not as bad as I was expecting.

I listened to this album once after finding R.E.M.'s cover of the title track. Many "top album" lists of the 70s include this record. This album is a solid example of the best musicianship from the band. My favorite track by Aerosmith ("Sweet Emotion") is on this album. I have heard at least one other album in full from Aerosmith, and a variety of their singles. The music on the album is good, but I can't seem to get past the lyrics that I know or my suspicions of what may be in the lyrics that I don't know. Repeated exposure to Steven Tyler further cements his place in my mind as a creep -ick. The music gets 4 stars, but the album as a whole gets 2.

28th October 2021 Listened on the living room speaker while me and jen worked at the table. Went to M&S in the evening. Massive. Enjoyed bits of this but didn't give it my full attention.

I'm confused why this album is on the list. This was released ten or twelve years before any of Aerosmith's popular albums. The only thing this album has going for it is the original version of "Walk This Way", but even that isn't anywhere near as good as the Cameo version.

Uno de los poquísimos discos de Aerosmith que ubicaba; varios sencillos clásicos muy buenos que todo mundo conoce y... varias canciones... estándar, me agrada que en general tienen un sonido algo crudo y creo esta debe haber sido su mejor etapa en cuanto a creatividad y productividad, pero fuera de esas cuantas canciones brillantes es una banda que nunca me ha llamado a adentrarme y de nueva cuenta escuchar todo el disco me deja igual. Buena música que tiene su lugar pero en cuanto a rock setentero no son mi máximo y ese grueso de canciones se me hacen un poco olvidables.

Gran disco de Aerosmith aunque no sean mis canciones favoritas. En varios momentos del disco usan sax y otros instrumentos de viento y no debieron dejar de hacerlo. Parecieran dos bandas distintas ésta del 75 y la de los 90s. Quizá sea por haberlas escuchado ya dos millones de veces pero las canciones más famosas del disco no son las que más me gustan. Este disco ha envejecido muy bien y de entrada pensé que sería un tres automático sin más, pero es en definitiva un 4.5. Maneja muchos estilos, cero monótono, va del Aerosmith más conocido (Walk, Sweet) al cercano al blues (Round, No more) o a los extremos queenezcos (You see). Discazo. El disco no es nada malo y representa muy bien esa era de Aerosmith en la que todavía Steven Tyler se medía con el falsete y todavía no eran la banda de los videos con morras guapas. Pero me pasa como a Capser con los discos de Queen: el de éxitos, con sus 33 rolas, es una maravilla y lo escucho feliz; en cambio los discos individuales no me provocan lo mismo. Más allá de las obvias (Walk This Way y Sweet Emotion) me gustan mucho Toys In The Attic y Big Ten Inch Record.

A far better album than I expected much blusier

This is how Blues Rock should sound: hyperactive riffs and smoked-out vocals trading blows; guitar licks lapping up your thighs like the sea before you pluck up the courage to dunk your rude bits; lyrics lamenting loves lost. It's just a bit of a shame that Blues Rock isn't really my thing, or I'd be all over it.

According to Chuck Eddy, of all the metallic albums recorded between the dawn of the Miocene era and AD 1990, this is the fourth best. I won't quibble. It coats Stones licks and Skynyrd boogie in squeezed zit-juice with such sexed-up fervour that it generates teenage kicks as high as Chuck Berry's or early Beatles'. Makes you feel like the fate of the world hangs on your puny 15 year old dreams. After putting his audience and himself through the ringer on tracks 1-8, Steve Tyler gathers us all up in a sweaty, stinking (probably quite horny) hug. We saw him crying? Uh-uh, he saw us bawling our pubescent eyes out.

As a 90s kid growing up with 90s Aerosmith, I didn't take Aerosmith very seriously. In fact, I loathed Aerosmith. They're up there with Billy Joel as artists who I completely understand the success and reach they've had, but I really only appreciate on a cultural level rather than a musical one. So color me surprised when I put this album on to find some real tightly played hard rock. Maybe a little unsophisticated lyrically, but you can see yourself handing the Zeppelin crown over to them. And then Big Ten Inch Record played. No, I was right. These guys are corny. Then comes Sweet Emotion and you see why they got so big.

И здесь все работает как в супе: каждый ингредиент можно есть отдельно, но вместе они приобретают новое качество, принципиально другой вкус. This is one of my favorite albums of all time. I grew up listening to this, and it makes my heart happy.

Ah, absolutely classic dirty R&B. Channels peak Stones from a few years earlier and if "Sweet Emotion" doesn't get you grooving round the house / in the car, well, I can't help you.

A record breaking album when it comes to blandness and lack of inspiration

Guess I didn’t save that lay on about the motorcycle and the road. It’s okay, the songs rate all I need to remember. These songs were in Armageddon. A pretty good album for a half an hour. Not all my cup of tea but songs I can listen to.

Good bluesy classic rock

The lightning-speed swamp rock riffing that the band does on the opener simply sounds great. There's more pop-blues to come, and it's good. Not quite Dutch angled, but with plenty of edge to keep the ear engaged. The attempt to sexualize their interpretation of the genre comes off a bit flat, but thankfully it's not the main thrust of the record. The second half loses a bit of the energy, but serves as a demonstration of musical breadth and ends with a bang. Very impressive for a sub-forty-minute album.

I'm not a big fan of Aerosmith. There were better bands doing what they were doing and they've just never resonated with me. This album does not change my opinion. There are catchy riffs, some good hits, and decent vocal delivery, but even though this album is less than 40 minutes, it gets boring by the end.

As a kid I grew up listening to current rock which now happens to be "classic rock" - and sometime in the early 90s like a lot of my generation I got tired of nearly all of it (turn on any of 7-8 local FM stations anywhere and it's (still) the same 50-60 songs) and just never played a lot of it for a long time. Combine that with a move to Boston and living there for many years ... with the extra amount of Aerosmith played there in the late 80s/90s I grew to have a "holygodihatethisbandpleaseneverletmehearthemagain" attitude about them. ..... But holy crap I had forgotten - this is a goddamn great rock and roll album. Greasy, nasty, tight yet at the same time loosely played, ballsy riffs with unexpected chords and melodic vocals - it really jumped beyond blues-based rock into something far more interesting with surprising variety: the aggression of the title track, the Alice Cooper-like creepiness of "Uncle Salty" and the gorgeous melodies of songs like "No More No More" and "You See Me Crying" ... and I haven't even had to mention the two eternally monstrous hits of "Walk This Way" and "Sweet Emotion" - turns out when you voluntarily listen to them, and especially in context of the album, it helps you realize how good they actually are. :) Only thing keeping this album from a 5 star rating for me is the weirdly out-of-place drudgery of "Round and Round" - it's as if Spinal Tap went back in time and copped the worst of Black Sabbath. 5 lost minutes in an otherwise kick-ass collection. So the key is to just not listen to something for 20+ years - if it's good, it'll come back to you. 9/10 4 big stars

There are a few tracks like Round and around that are much better than others. I could have seen me given this a third star, but in the end, oh hell, who am I kidding? This is a three star.

Honestly I was not that impressed with this album for as much as Aerosmith is revered. I like the breakout songs on here, but beyond that I wasn’t really entertained.

What stands out most for me is the bands potential and out of this world ability. It doesn't all quite hang together, but it's a hint of incredible tracks to come. Walk this way, never tires and Big Tench Inch Record for a change of style caught my attention.

A lot of it sounds the same. Big Ten Inch Record easily the worst track on here. Solos are terrible, except the one to end No More No More. I like the vocals and think they fit the music well. Compared to other Aerosmith I've heard, this is definitely some of the more ambitious stuff from them. The vocals are very badly mixed on Round and Round, it has some great riffs though. Nice outro track in You See Me Crying, a great mix of strings, guitars, piano, and brass. The really cringy vocals around midway degrade the track a bit though.

Pretty good still. Love the songwriting, guitars. Steven Tyler has long been one of my favorite vocalists. It's a classic record but I think only their 2nd or 3rd best. Sweet Emotion and Walk This Way still hold up for me. Round and Round is randomly this heavy sounding song thrown into the record that I always forget about. Uncle Salty bangs too. 7/10

I've known this album for years, but only listened to a few tracks. This time I put the headphones on and listened to it all. Intensely. The well-known tracks are great and sound even better when listening so intensely. Walk this Way and Sweet Emotion are the two songs I knew. The rest were new to me. Toys in the Attic - Great start to the song. What a way to kick off the album. Uncle Salty - Loved it. Adam's Apple. ... She ate it... It was love at first bite! Cool. Walk this way - MEGA-Classic. Big Ten Inch Record - I like the groove! Now whip out your big ten-inch.... record. Sweet Emotion - Classic. Perfect. No More No More - It's alright.... You See Me Crying - I love Rock ballads. A really enjoyable rock album with some great riffs and power vocals. The double entendres and obsession with school girls is a like wearisome, but overall a blast.

Ho boy. That's a blast from the past. One of the first rock albums my best friend introduced me to. This is when I found out Run DMC didn't write Walk This Way. Sweet Emotion rocked my 15 year old musical world. Good, straight forward, rock and roll. Love it.

Very good album. Fun to revisit. Ten Inch Record is hilarious. No More No More is a great track. Then, of course, the hits are hits for a reason. Still not perfect though, the last track is particularly weak.

Actually really enjoyed this. Was cool to hear some earlier stuff from Aerosmith, as most of the Aerosmith songs I know came out in the mid-late 80s. Don't know how I feel about this version of Walk This Way. I don't really like the Run DMC version, but there's something about the production of that one that is more exciting than the original.

I'm not really an Aerosmith fan, probably because I grew up with the stuff they made in the 90s. This album changed my mind a bit though. I'm well versed in the singles released from this album, but the other songs were a treat to listen to. Overall a win.

After nearly getting off the ground with Get Your Wings, Aerosmith finally perfected their mix of Stonesy raunch and Zeppelin-esque riffing with their third album, Toys in the Attic. The success of the album derives from a combination of an increased sense of songwriting skills and purpose. Not only does Joe Perry turn out indelible riffs like "Walk This Way," "Toys in the Attic," and "Sweet Emotion," but Steven Tyler has fully embraced sleaziness as his artistic muse. Taking his cue from the old dirty blues "Big Ten Inch Record," Tyler writes with a gleeful impishness about sex throughout Toys in the Attic, whether it's the teenage heavy petting of "Walk This Way," the promiscuous "Sweet Emotion," or the double-entendres of "Uncle Salty" and "Adam's Apple." The rest of Aerosmith, led by Perry's dirty, exaggerated riffing, provide an appropriately greasy backing. Before Toys in the Attic, no other hard rock band sounded like this. Sure, Aerosmith cribbed heavily from the records of the Rolling Stones, New York Dolls, and Led Zeppelin, but they didn't have any of the menace of their influences, nor any of their mystique. Aerosmith was a gritty, street-wise hard rock band who played their blues as blooze and were in it for a good time; Toys in the Attic crystallizes that attitude.

Und dann kommt „Walk this way“ daher und Boom! Legendengeburt! Und was davor im Album eher Classic war, wird danach... ...classy 2.4

Das ist optimistische Fickmusik! Großmäulig, gut gelaunt und gut gemacht. Hardrock auf neues Level gehoben und dabei direkt noch dem HipHop Vorschub geleistet. Eigentlich nicht meine Musik, aber ich finds gut - und die Welt könnte sowas dringend gebrauchen: 3,4!
