It’s OK
Just not my sound 2/5 #musicsky #albumsky #musicchallenge
Hólímólí hvað þetta er leiðinlegt dæmi. Þetta er rapp sem ég fíla ekki. Reyndar voru þarna nokkur lög sem ég fílaði en það var ekki vegna Wu-Tang Clan heldur vegna Girl Talk sem hefur endurnýtt lögin þeirra í sín frábæru endurblöndunarlög. Gef þessu 2 stjörnur fyrir að vera gott hráefni í betri tónlist.
If I liked hip hop I would have liked this album
🥲
Disclaimer: not a rap fan. Lyrics were fine, music was fine. Definitely not on my future playlist
360/1001
5/10 Highlight: C.R.E.A.M.
I like the first song A LOT and the sound is great. Usually not a huge rap fan so this was interesting. I like the rhythms and it was overall enjoyable to listen to.
Gikk meg hus forbi
Not going to listen, not my thing.
Not for me
So many interludes, so little time. I usually really like old-school, sample-driven hip hop (and I’m aware that this record has a LOT of prestige and is basically an icon of the east coast 90s scene) but it wasn’t clicking for me on first listen. On a positive note: I really enjoyed the sample in Cash Rules Everything Around Me.
I just can't get into Wu-Tang. I think I like this better than some of the solo albums on this list, but I still don't really like it.
Complete
Absolutely not my style, but I appreciate the sounds 2/5
I think I can see why people like this. It's fairly monotonous but exactly that works. It's a bit too long, like many nineties-albums. This time the track I like best is also the biggest 'hit': C.R.E.A.M. The best hiphop-album so far. Although I liked the musical elements better on Snoop Dogg's album, I certainly think the rapping is much better here.
Switched to the clean version after a few minutes into the first song. Still feeling pretty gangsta, though. CREAM baby!
great flow, and i know wu-tang was instrumental to the genre. But i’ve never been a fan of the repetitive and simple backing tracks in hip hop
Method man song’s descriptions of hot hangers up ur ass and rusty screwdriver on ur tongue was a bit much for my lovely sunny commute on Fri xx I think this kinda hip hop is a bit lost on me
Not a hate but an ‘urgh samey’
I usually quite like hip hop but this just didn't grab me.
The sound of this was good. The rap rhythms were nice. I have no idea what they were rapping about and I got distracted and went to put up some coat hooks, so I guess it didn't do enough to keep my attention. The hooks looks nice though.
I can respect the influence this album has. But this was a little long, and became very dry over time. Much better rap came after this, and can hold my attention for far longer.
Only heard the biggest hit from it before. Not my kind of hip hop, honestly. But C.R.E.A.M. is on the album at least 2/5
1st Song is a Thumper, not so much for the rest of the album.
I get that this was a really important album in the evolution of hip hop, and listening to it I can understand why, but it feels like the genre has surpassed this so far that it hasn't aged well. I'm glad to have listened to it, but I won't again.
regular hip hop album 2 stars
I fuckin'... fuckin' found this fuckin' album notable only fir bein a fuckin' swearfest on a fuckin' epic fuckin' scale. I'm gonna fuckin'... fuckin' fuck it wit fuckin' two fuckin' stars.
Not for me
Don’t want to hear so much swearing and rapping about how great they all are.. I’m clearly not Wu-Tang’s target demographic. Wish I appreciated this more than I did, but that goes for all the solo albums by these members as well. 2/5
On one hand I liked a couple of songs, on the other - the long ass skits were annoying and the rapping felt too old I'll rate it lower for no reason
A bit too harsh for me
Early hip hop - ok if you like that sort of stuff
Hip hop that I didn’t really enjoy listening to but was fine.
Some classics on here like CREAM, Wu tang clan ain’t nothing ta f wit, etc. I don’t love it overall, though. I’d say NWA was the better rap group of this era. Kids in middle school whose favorite movie was the Boondocks Saints would always slap people on the back of the neck and yell “PROTECT YA NECK”
70 seconds in... oh God, there's gonna be an hour of this? Still, better than Kanye West.
Good reminder that I’m not much of a fan of hip hop/rap
4/10
In the middle of all this raucous trash, someone actually broke into song and mouthed words that seemed to have some thought and intent behind them, but most of this is just loud-talking junk - doesn't fall under my definition of "music" and has no discernible redeeming social value. One track sounds like a committee discussing the enterprise's mission statement - why take up anyone's time with that? The dang album is 70 minutes long as it is - cut that junk at least.
Not quite my style as a whole. A few good beats, but I like my rap usually a bit tamer, 80’s I suppose.
Not for me
I usually find gangster rap albums heavy going, but this one is a little easier than most. It has an engaging sense of humour with all of the kung fu movie samples and the music has a raw edge to it. Apparently it was recorded in a studio so small that only 8 out of the 9 band members could fit in at any one time, so they would organise impromptu rap battles to decide who was going to appear on each track!
I almost gave up on this one before even getting to the halfway mark. Lyrically it had nothing to offer except the usual "I'm the greatest, I'm going to kill everyone" type shit. The beats were uninspired and boring. Truly terrible skits. I got to "Can It Be All So Simple" which offered a bit of variety so I stuck with it. So after listening to the whole album I'm still not really impressed. I do like the raw sound and the samurai movie thing is interesting even if not used well. There's some moments of brilliance, but most of it just repeats the same ideas.
It was alright 1001 album worthy: No - 31/55
Not for me but I’ve heard worse.
Somehow I made it through.
J - 2 S - 2
Not a fan
Not an album that I would choose to listen to but can see how this genre of music might appeal to some people.
I just couldn’t get into it
Okay, so I know how influential the Wu-Tang Clan was back in the day but I enjoyed the more melodic kind of rap from several years later because it was more of a song and this was more of a recording of people talking. Yes, this had music in the background but it wasn't really my type of rap.
I like my rap like I like my coffee, with so many extraneous elements l get laughed at for saying I enjoy it. At the very least with some fluffy sweetness in the form of lush beats. This is pure espresso (not the Sabrina Carpenter kind). A very good espresso mind you, but I personally take two sips and I've had enough. A CD 60 minute runtime does not warm me up to it. Score is for my own enjoyment, I completely admit its actual value is much higher.
Not m'y style.
Had one good part on one mediocre song. Could’ve been worse though
I hated this less than I expected to.
Wu-Tang Clan aint nothin' to fuck with.
Sounds exactly how I expected it to. Lived through this period of time, but not in the Bronx. Far reaching influence but not for me.
I know. I know. The Wu Tang Clan are legendary in the rap world. For me, it’s a slight miss. They have some good moments on this particular album but it’s nothing that lights my musical fire.
an important album for hip-hop and music in general, but not an album for me
This one didn't do much for me. Pretty standard....maybe even cliched rapping and beats that only made me sit up and take notice twice I think... 2 stars
A few good songs...
The beats are fine. I'm not into the rap. It's quite aggressive at times.
Not my cup of tea
mir fehlen da die bekannten Sachen, so lala
Meh
Never heard this before. I recognize it for its historical significance but only a few nice points on this album for me.
Nothing earth shattering. A lot of songs seemed to blend into each other without setting the world alight.
06/10/24 Not a fan.
Hard to listen to. Very limited vocabulary that mostly includes variations of fuck and nigger. Does have a beat.
As usual with this project, I'm very uneducated on hip hop and have a hard time finding stuff that's above 3* for me. I recognize the icons that WTC are but still this is 2* for me.
Supposedly seminal album didn't deliver for me. The Kung Fu film samples were good but I wasn't impressed by the other choice of samples. The subject of the writing was all a bit too aggressive and self centred too. Shame as I expected to like it more x
In a nutshell: a "fuck you, watch me" album. "[Tommy Boy Records] made the decision to sign House of Pain over us. When they dropped me, I was thinking, 'Damn, they chose a bunch of whiteboy shit over me.'" RZA, The Wu-Tang Manual Not completely into it. The skits were distracting; the beats and loops were repetitive. HOWEVER, I can't be too harsh on this album. It's popular, influential and iconic. There will be a legacy with Wu-Tang Clan. C.R.E.A.M. will always be a banger. Overall: 4/10
Wu tang are huge and they have lots of fans, I've just never been one and this album hasn't changed that. Low 2.
all of it seems the same. a background noise
Not for me.
Not my thing, but it was listenable.
Meh
Wu Tang is for the Chidren
Okay background music maybe. The music is good but rap vocals are just not something I enjoy.
2/5
I think it’s a testament to this project that I can articulate specifically why I don’t like this. They’re skilled rappers, but these beats kind of suck.
Felt like I heard the same song 15 times
Não é para mim. Ouvi apenas 5 músicas e não deu mais
I felt a bit bludgeoned by this one.
Buen disco pero ai el hip hop 2D
I enjoyed the music i.e. the sampling and effects etc, but the lyrics didn't appeal. I'm not the target audience. I prefer The Herbaliser.
Plenty of cool beats, samples, and hooks at the base of many of these tracks, but they’re inaccessible unless you’re ok with being subjected to lots of nonsense to get them. What nonsense? Intro to Method Man is Exhibit A, but it’s everywhere and prevents enjoying the otherwise cool beats. Tearz is the best track, with only minimal nonsense in the intro.
I know this is probably sacrilege but this is only okay :/
This is pretty dull stuff. I kind of like the music, but the vocals come across like a gang of loads of people contributing random violent braggadocio. Oh, and I was streaming an expanded edition.
Not really a whole lot of music on this I mean, just a steady kind of backbeat and then a lot of rapping. I’m not a huge rap fan anyway, but I did like some of the Beastie Boys stuff and some of run. DMC didn’t do much for me.
Why do I remember this being much better than it actually is? I’m by no means offended by the word f*** (not sure if I’m allowed to type it here), but the overuse on this album became annoying, honestly. And although this is an incredibly skilled group of rappers, but I found the beats more annoying than catchy.
Solid flow but not too interesting of music
I am not their demographic. Method Man would be my favorite if I had to choose. I don’t love rap but i understand the significance of the Clan. If someone put this on, I would want to know all the words to impress them, but not enough to actually listen to their music. I feel like this is a hot take and I’m going to be hunted down by their fans. I wish I was better but I’m not.
Not my thing. I can see how it's good but I just didn't like it.
Too many mfers and n-words for my taste. They are so angry.
Not for me
Not really my genre, but I guess it was alright. The rhymes and beats were solid, but I didn't really enjoy any of the songs very much. Two stars.
Still nope
I listened to this album four or five times and honestly afterwards I couldn't really describe it to you. It's just rap. Instrumentally, all the songs sound exactly the same. It's the same type of repetitive beat, and it might be just because I don't have a musical ear but all the rappers also sound the same. I didn't realize it was like 5 or 6 dudes singing until the end of Can It Be All So Simple when they went through each one of them. I see this as a testimony of the passage of time. Back in the days, apparently, this album was amazing. I guess we have come a long way since then, because any kid with a laptop and some free time can make a better album, in my opinion.
Ok but not for me
I liked the rawness in the beginning, but it lost me halfway through.
I can appreciate the pendulum shift that occurred as a result of Wu-Tang. However, I struggle to find consistent enjoyment when listening to their records.
huh
Hmmm. I almost didn't listen to this one. I'm 68. Wu-Tang Clan? But I actually liked it better than I thought I would. I don't like the lyrics or the violence but the sound and the beat were both good. I was bobbing my head, so, yeah, ok.
I know I’ll be in minority opinion here, but I’ve never gotten them. At all. I just kind don’t like this one bit. I’ll give an extra star because I know it’s supposed to be good, but I shall never ever circle back on this.
Darker than the Gang Star album which made it harder to listen to but more enjoyable in a way. Resisted the urge to bust some caps into my colleagues after listening to it on the way to work despite their appalling behaviour. Wonder how many of the Wu Tang Clan are still alive?
I only listened to half of this album because I got bored of it
Didn’t live up to the hype
Musical simple Hip-Hop.
Not for me. No matter how many rap/hip-hop albums I listen to I just can't find an emotional connection to the vocals. The lyrics obviously can be deep but I've never had an easy time connecting to a rapper in the way I do vocalists.
Nothing about this album was good for me. I guess I can appreciate that it was innovative and influential, so I won't give it a 1.
I tried listening, but I'm just not a fan of rap. No go for me.
I enjoyed this more than expected... But only barely.
Here we go It's a hip hop. It's a rap. It's a gritty urban feel. It's a flood of somewhat tedious M****r F**king swearing. It's culturally black and I'm not *and* it's an iconic album that started a scene of this type of gritty music. The why is interesting. I read about it with far more interest than I had in the album itself. I found myself looking at old Hong Kong kung-fu movies from the 1980's - something I also found interesting. I just can't put myself into the space to listen to 'Enter the Wu-Tang' and glean some value. It's better, to me, than Metallica, but that isn't saying much. So, low low low two stars. Never going to go higher, but two because I *might* try listening again.
Genre: hip hop. Rap, teilweise melodisch, teilweise Geschrei. 2/5 Sternen
I'm not a fan of the genre. That said, Wu-Tang Clan is very good at what they do. Hard core beats, piano riffs, and a rolling cast of MCs makes for the defining sound of rap in the 90's and the aughts. I don't think we should celebrate violence this way, but I realize that I may be at odds with the majority on this count.
The talking before each song was awful
Rollo.
Rap, beats, male, interludes, some nice beats, but not more, didn't bring rap closer to me
It’s not my genre, but even so, I just didn’t like it much.
un poco denso para mi
some good beats but a bit angry, too much talking filler
Meh Just not very interesting I’m afraid. I have no doubt that it was massively important and influential, but I appear to prefer my hip-hop harder and more obviously political. This is just a bit bland and boring. And as for the king-fu sounds - yeah, sure squire. Very clever I’m sure. But a bit bollocksy. No chance I’ll be listening again here. So a 2.
Not my pace but I am familiar with a few.
I wanted it to end some good tracks but very indulgent
It was music
I thought this would be campy fun but it was just kind of boring.
Not terrible.
Probably groundbreaking but a little tiring to listen to…
Generally not my style but not bad.
Good beats but violent and misogynistic lyrics. *cringe*
I couldn't get into this much. First WTC I've properly listened to but nothing stood out to me on this album. Standout Track: C.R.E.A.M (Cash Rules Everything Around Me)
2/5
Emmmmm.......This is nowhere close to \"Wu Tang\" at all lol
Ok
Not designed for me, and it is so
Known Before: Artist/Some Songs Standouts: 8. C.R.E.A.M. 4.0
Pretty good Hiphop. Catch is, Hiphop is largely not music.
I know how influential and beloved this album is, but I'm reviewing from my point of view, right? So I'll just say that it's not my thing. I've never been into the Wu. Some of their music is fine, but it doesn't connect with me. This is my second or third time listening to this album, and still, *shrug*. A bonus star for cultural importance, though.
Not bad by any means, just not for me!
very inspiring but I just can listen to 1-2 songs in a row
too vulgar
i don't like hard core hip-hop

My brother and his friends love Wu-Tang. For context, we are white, middle class and live in rural England. My brother enjoys craft ale and cider, and his friends are both PhD doctors in Chemistry and Cyber Security respectively. Perhaps it because I don’t tick all those boxes that I don’t quite get the Clan.
Shmeep shmoop
Kinda corny ngl
I really do not like hip-hop. I REALLY don’t like it. There is almost no hip-hop that I’ve heard that I’ve liked. And sadly, this album is no different. It was a struggle for me to get through. But at the same time, I can’t bring myself to hate it as much as some other albums I’ve heard so far. I’m sure that in terms of hip-hop, this is really good, maybe even revolutionary. But I just don’t enjoy this kind of music. I don’t see myself ever revisiting this album. 3/10 Top 3: 1. Da Mystery of Chessboxin’ 2. Protect Ya Neck 3. Shame on a N****
Not my kind of music
Listened out of order by accident but couldn't get myself to listen again
Not a fan of the language used.
This album is puffery at its worst. I liked C.R.E.A.M., but it's one of the few songs where Wu-Tang Clan aren't referring to themselves in the third person. "Tearz" is about the sad reality of children living in a world where gun violence prevails ("Your little brother got shot!"). But the tracks that follow are again all about Wu-Tang Clan, as the rappers fall back on the same tired cliches and overt misogyny I have come to expect, having listened to the whole album.
not really my vibe because the sound mixing is kind of ... quiet? i don't know, it's kind of like a never-ending song for each song. album highlight: tearz. otherwise it's like definitely good music but each song blends into the next and i don't think i have the excitement or attention span to pay attention to it. 2/5 due to personal taste and low attention span.
I can appreciate this, but rap just isn't my thing glad that's over
The Pu-Wang Clan
This was okay, but ultimately just not for me. It all came across as kind of lo-fi hip-hop. In any case, every song mostly sounded the same to me and I was left rather bored. Plus, I'm already not the biggest hip-hop fan. Wu-Tang Clan absolutely deserves a place on this project, but I'm just not into them myself.
fav - tearz
Fine for the genre but not really my preferred music.
It is something very special in hip hop history but I don’t like it so much. Very hard to listen this. Only in a gangsta team near to the garbage bin. Something between 2 and 3.
Rollo
honestly only okay cream is so much better than the rest of the album 2.5
what a boring and repetitive album
I understand why some people like this, but it's not for me.
Not my thing :(
I already know. I'm bad at rating and I should feel bad
Good
I appreciate the cultural importance of this album but musically it was too repetitive and boring to me and all the swearing and bad lyrics were a no. Not my cup of tea overall.
I’m a few songs in and I can tell this aggressive hip hop is not my thing. Always strange that rappers who trade is words should fall to the lowest denominator and fill their diatribe with unimaginative basic swearing. Sweating can convey emotion, but more often, as here, it shows no lyrical, descriptive or witty art and hardly any feel or emotion. 2 stars because there are some rhymes and the samples beats are reasonable.
Dull
too much misoginia
Don't get the fuss if I'm honest. It's pretty one dimensional and it goes on and on and on.
Decent but doesn't hold up in my opinion
I didn't hate it but rap does nothing for me.
Not really my jam. Good history, meh music.
I listened..... enjoyed RZA's work substantially more in American Gangster
I'm not a big hip hop guy but I can appreciate how this record sounds.
Not a huge fan, but I recognize the significance and that I'm not the target audience. Enjoyable but didn't really leave any kind of impact.
Rapping here is top notch, the minimalist beats and production, not a fan. I didn't hate listening to this album but i certainly wont be listening to it again.
Hip-hop, rap, sin contemplaciones. Directo y con estilo definido. No destaca especialmente. Muy para fanáticos
Matig
Not a rap fan. But some decent beats. As well as some unfortunate skits/dialogue.
Hmm, there's a Method Man album coming up as well. Well, all I've learned from this round of listening is that I don't really need any WTC in my life.
Not really my thing but it was enjoyable enough.
I wonder if my brother was dragged out to see these guys by his son, or at least Ghostface Killa? Anyhow, I like the production and the use of multiple rappers, but as always, I'm not keen on LPs that rely heavily on F-bombs to grab your attention.
I like how they reference schlocky chop socky Kung Fu movies from the 70s and the album title is pretty damned cool, but I didn't care much for the music. A bit too raw and minimalist for me.
Shannah DID NOT like (0.5/5). Bill also did not like (1.3/5). Conor liked (3.5/5). (1.7/5)
A guy repeating the fuckin' word sometimes with other doing a choir that makes the (other) words un-understable. Not the type of music that Id like.
Listened to on 2/25/22 2/5 Favorite song: C.R.E.A.M. Someone’s vibe just not mine
Not the worst
Just not my genre. Listen to some hip hop classics on the radio. Love kid rock.
Too bad the music isn’t as cool as the image, logo and member names (Ghostface Killah,; Ol’ Dirty Bastard; Inspectah Deck) Was on my way to three stars, then heard the intro to “Method Man” - that third star got smacked on the dresser with a spiked baseball bat.
Too much talking
2/5 don't really get wu tang
Didn’t grab me
I swear, a lot but I'm not a fan of it in my music. And this did my head in after only 3 minutes into the album. It's excessive.
It’s monotonous, but not as bad as I was expecting.
Nope
Yeah not my thing. I can't focus on the lyrics and the sounds is not particularly interesting. It's just repetition of the same basic tunes with swearing to make them "interesting"
4/10. I like that the lyrics are fairly funny from time to time, even forgetting that they just sample a shit ton of kung fu sound effects. Still wouldn't ever want to listen all the way through again, and there were no particular tracks I'd want to come back to either. Certainly wasn't bad, but I didn't care for it much.
1st listen. Don't know any of the songs, heard of the Wu Tang Clan... Need to listen more.
Ho ascoltato quest'album a più riprese, ho letto qualche testo random e sorprendentemente "Shame on a nigga who try to run game on a nigga who buck wild with the trigger!" non mi si toglie dalla testa!
Can It Be All So Simple / Intermission: questo m'è piaciuto, anche alcune immagini del testo me so piaciute.
Fine, the interludes get annoying. Probably wouldn’t listen again
.
Hip Hop and samples. Doesn't really flow like PE. Meh.
the musing on how they would torture each other at the beginning of "method man" is a highlight. it's a pretty puerile album. I actually like their later stuff. but this hasn't aged well.
2/5
4
A couple good hits but overall not my style.
Method man aight
Raw rap, not my thing
I know it's a classic and everything, but I was bored by track 5.
This is one of those "Let's loop 3 seconds of beat, repeat it for 5 minutes and rap on top of it" kind of albums. So there's not really much to judge if you're looking for musicality apart from the rhymes and lyrics. Nothing really sparked for me when listening to it...
Nearly unlistenable for my ears. The beats are so repetetive, the instrumentals minimal, boring or annoying. I get that I fail to connect with Hip Hop albums mostly because I'm not a lyrics guy and pay only little attention to the words. However... whenever I did pay attention, it was cringeworthy or even a little disturbing. Nope, not for me. To say something positive, the movie samples they used were really cool. 1/5 - very weak
I was listening to my liked songs, then I got signal again and put this on. Important and influential sure, but also boring and stupid. And I just was not in the mood for any of the three I'm listening to today.
Terrible. Sick of it. Didn't listen after the first minute. What on earth is great about this?!
0.000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Sorry I know it’s culturally significant but I just hated it.
Couldn’t listen to much f and n words
It may have been an important album but the repetitive beats are just so boring.
Not for me.
This album is a case of one step forward and two steps back. For every concept that is clever and well executed, there are multiple interludes that are completely puerile and infantile. As with many of their genre brethren, it seems that every third word is F*ck or the N-word. I like to think I’m not a prude, but it does make for tedious listening. Docked a full star for the part where each member describes how he’d like to torture someone. Is this the musical version of torture-porn? Not sure which is worse: whether they seriously mean what they are saying, or whether they totally don’t mean it, and are just throwing those ideas around gratuitously.
Ended up skipping around looking for anything to like. Nothing here for me.
Not my cup of tea

Not for us.
Not my thing :(
Literally sighed when this came up….. I just don’t get it. This isn’t music to my ears. 1
Bloated, self-important, rubbish. I really, really, hated this record (admittedly based on the first 20 seconds of the first four tracks, which was way, way more than I could actually tolerate.)
It's good, good lyrics, very fast-paced. It's not my favorite genre and I couldn't finish it for that reason.
Demasiadas puteadas poco originales. No me gusta el rap tan marcado. Era todo lo mismo. No lo pude terminar. Le pondría 1,5 ⭐️
I listened to only 2 tracks😓. The lyrics of the 2 I listened to were bad so I gave it up. Groovy though. 3.5/10
Just cannot get into this at all. The dialogue is irritating, songs very repetitive.
nope
Not really my taste.
Music was good but was painful to listen to!
Not my thing
0.5/5 I couldn't even finish this album. It was cancer to my ears. I know this is touted as one of the best rap albums in history but to me, it's one of the worst. I really don't like rap or hip hop and even this albun couldn't get me to like it.
This music is so targeted to a certain group of people in our society and is not even good.
Very meh rap the whole way. Not my kind of music
Nope, not for me
Hmmmm. Not really my thing
Pure garbage.
It wasnt really me
pass
DIDN'T LIKE
not my thing but its such a vibe
Scheiße
i’m scared this is gonna be not my thing i don’t listen to rap bring da ruckus: oh this is so not gonna be my thing.
I tried, but no.
I found one track I could rate as something other than awful, but probably because I didn't listen closely to the lyrics (Method Man). Otherwise, waded through this and kept hearing appalling lyrics and completely uninspired sounds. Not really music is it?
NOT A HIP-HOP FAN!
Just to make things clear I’m not a rap music connoisseur and don’t profess to be a massive fan of the genre But there is a few in that genre I enjoy the likes of Tupac , dr Dre , Eminem For me after a couple of listens it didn’t really cut the mustard A few reasons Mainly to take this album for what it is face value the whole flow of it just seemed to drag There was no real venom to the punctuation of the lyrics , not like how the likes of beasty boys and Eminem seem to convey them The tempos seemed to keep the same no dramatic change in that respect The instrumentation was good in places very classic 90s rap but the production seemed mushy and vocals hard to hear in places Finally to wrap it up not my cup of tea as I mentioned rap isn’t my bag but I’ll give this a poor 1 out of 5 didn’t seal the deal for me I’m afraid
Definitely can see how this influenced future rap albums with the adlib talking sections. Production is basic, but definitely a signature sound of the era and probably started with bands like this. Extremely repetitive from a musical perspective, but this kind of rap is all about the lyrics and rapper. Unfortunately for this reason it bores me listening to this album as a whole. I do enjoy some tracks from this though and would listen to them as part of a playlist but this is quite a tough listen as a whole entity/album. The intermission just got on my nerves, I don't wanna hear them bashing on about crap, bad quality recording as well on that keeps distorting, to be fair they probably did this on little equipment and not pro studio but still , not enjoyable. Good rappers but the instrumentals again are just dull and repetitive. Standout tracks for me are: 7th chamber (at a push.. At least they tried to put some musical interest in there with synths and saxophone, but its totally out of key and makes no sense). No other tracks were standout for me, I wouldn't relisten to this. I heard a lot of good things about wu tang over the years but I just don't get it.
Not listened yet but it won't let me reactivate my project until I rate for some reason. I'll assume it's shit so will give a 1 and listen later then edit.
tedious, same old stuff, turned it off.
No from me. Terrible album
really enjoyed "can it be all so simple" because it felt quite separate from the rest of the album which for me was nothing too special. the songs sort of integrated into a one big compilation - they lacked distinctive features. however, i can see how this album has influenced hip-hop music
Very harsh I didn’t like it at all
Again, fuck no! Can’t sing to it… Wokesters would call me racist. Plus it’s shit on most levels. So no.
I'm aware Wu-Tang Clan is meant to be extremely influential in the rap world, but this album was a complete miss for me.
Never been a wu tang fan. Boring. I think the individuals are better than the whole. One good song. 1.5 stars
ma basta, non ci provo neanche
36? That sounds brutal.
Not my thing
Hasn’t aged well
Not a WTC fan. Did not listen.
Not my vibe. Lots of speaking between tracks
As expected: terrible
Good for about 1 song. Too vulgar and annoyingly uninspired. .
Yet another way too long hiphop album that just sounds the same as all the rest. I’ll never understand how people can praise music like this
Kom nou. Precies op de helft (29 minuten 13,5 seconden) afgezet.
I couldn't get past the first three 'songs' Not for me
Not my thing, but right in line with my belief that 90s music is really bad
The Wu-Tang Clan is going to be okay without me.
This is about an hour and 10 minutes too long for me.
