Popular Reviews

The Doors by The Doors

I used to love the doors. Probably enough that I overlistened to them. Still awesome. Jim Morrisons voice is still iconic. It's rare I find the mood to actually listen to them anymore though.

Court And Spark by Joni Mitchell
Oct 24 2023

Objectively good, not for me, a bit dull. Down to you is the high point of the album. Raised on robbery slaps.

Songs For Swingin' Lovers! by Frank Sinatra
Oct 25 2023

Whole album is warm and comfortable. I'm not mature enough to listen to a song titled Makin Whoopee objectively with a straight face.

Oct 26 2023

Respect is one of the goats and the baseline for save me is incredible. I'm not sure I've heard any of her songs outside of the titular track and respect but they all hold up well. Album is like a snapshot into her life at the moment.

Neon Bible by Arcade Fire
Oct 27 2023

💩. Lyrics sound like they were wrote by a 7th grader trying to write above their skill level. Sometimes a female vocalist sings and it's okay.

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Oct 30 2023

Didn't get to spend as much time with this album as I would've like. Will probably revisit it soon.

The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden
Oct 31 2023

Let's go! I'm not sure if I've ever listened to a full Iron Maiden album cover to cover before. Unsurprisingly to me, All of it was great. Brought me back to my formative metal head years.

OK Computer by Radiohead
Nov 01 2023

Solid album. I debated between 3/5 or 4/5. It honestly deserves the 4 from how important it is culturally, but I doubt I will ever return to the album. Nothing in the album stands out as good or bad to me. I know this was genre redefining in 1997 and must have sounded much different too the ears 25 years ago. From a 2023 perspective it is a little bland and generic. Genuinely suffering from success since this is the blueprint for British rock through the 2000s. I have plenty of respect for the band and the album but it's just not quite my vibe.

Screamadelica by Primal Scream
Nov 02 2023

What a fun album. First time hearing something on this list wholly new that I want to hear more of. Don't fight it, feel it and higher than the sun are my favorite tracks on the album.

Rattlesnakes by Lloyd Cole And The Commotions
Nov 03 2023

Good. Nothing that really tickled my fancy. It was unoffensive.

Hail To the Thief by Radiohead
Nov 06 2023

More enjoyable than OK computer. Radiohead absolutely missed me when these albums were more relevant and I don't think they have the right impact without having any history with them.

Marquee Moon by Television
Nov 07 2023

Album slaps. I wish I had more to say critically about it since it is probably my favorite album we have had thus far.

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Nov 08 2023

I was initially pretty excited for this album, the handful of Springsteen mega hits that have been getting radio play for ~40 years I've liked, but I've learned that outside of those handful of tracks that have transcended time I realy don't care for his music.

Future Days by Can
Nov 09 2023

Really interesting album. Not something I would elect to listen to regularly but enjoyed every second of it anyway.

You're Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr.
Nov 10 2023

This album is fantastic. Loved every minute of it. I've known about Dinosuar Jr for a long time but never gave them a proper listen, that was a mistake.

At Newport 1960 by Muddy Waters
Nov 13 2023

Another genre that isn't my first pick to listen to but always enjoy when I do.

The Stone Roses by The Stone Roses
Nov 14 2023

Gave me beach boys of the 90s vibes. I don't think I was in a good head space for the album yesterday for this album and it probably deserves a second listen from me.

Nov 20 2023

Could be argued that this is the greatest hip hop/rap album of all time. Was a pleasure to listen to on a Friday.

Tracy Chapman by Tracy Chapman
Nov 21 2023

Only reference I had prior for her music was fast car. Pleasingly every song on the album had the same emotion put into it.

Lust For Life by Iggy Pop
Nov 22 2023

Incredible album. Wish I would've listened to it sooner.

The Doors by The Doors
Nov 24 2023

I used to love the doors. Probably enough that I overlistened to them. Still awesome. Jim Morrisons voice is still iconic. It's rare I find the mood to actually listen to them anymore though.

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Nov 27 2023

A little too 70 experimental for me.

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Dec 04 2023

Little bland in comparison to eliminator. But la grange might have the best quitar riff of all time.

Dec 05 2023

A handful of the tracks on here are goats but some of them are genuinely hard to listen to. The album on the whole is not something I think I will return to.

En-Tact by The Shamen
Dec 07 2023

Good. A bit repetitive.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Dec 11 2023

Very good album. Only complaint is it is too long. Hardly gives a chance for any songs to stand out in any meaningful way.

The Message by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five
Dec 13 2023
Bubble And Scrape by Sebadoh
Dec 15 2023

Wish there were half stars. 3 seems like an insult, and 4 too generous. Little to lo-fi sounding for my general taste.

Next by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
Dec 21 2023

Weird. But not in a bad way.
