Love this album. Only reason I knock it down a star is it gets a little saggy on the back half. But overall is still excellent

Tremendous harmonies and song writing

First time I had sit down with this one and I very much enjoyed it. Had heard all the singles before so interesting to hear it in the context of the album
This is a great album! A bit more rocking than some of his other material
Hadn't listened to much of their music outside of the millions of times they run on Classic Rock radio due to stuff like Smoke on the Water, but I think always had a good appreciation of where they stood within the rock/metal pantheon. I think this is a good entry point into their music. Fairly economical songs, and a great guitar record.
I was not familiar with this one going in at all. Maybe it will grow on further listening, but I was not a fan of this record. The Phil Spector stuff is never really a selling point for me, so I can't speak to the production as some sort of saving grace. There are some bits and bobs that were stronger than others, but I did not find the overall listening experience as pleasant
This one goes down super smooth. So light and airy
SY were always on the periphery of my music world back in the day, but I never dug too deep into them. Although I will say "The Diamond Sea" is one of my favorite tracks of theirs (not on this album though) I liked this one quite a bit and probably will be revisiting again in the near future
Awesome album. Some of my favorite tunes of theirs. Wild Horses is unbeatable
I was a little surprised by this, but in a good way. Knew Walk on the Wildside of course, but wasn't as familiar with what surrounded it. I didn't know the history with Bowie and Ronson either, and how it was considered "glam". Solid
This one holds a special place in my heart. This is the first cassette I bought with my own money. 5 stars, no notes
I had really only consumed Q-Tip's music through A Tribe Called Quest, which is all time(plus his great guest spot on Get it Together from Ill Communication). A lot of the Tribe aesthetic does bleed over into the production on this album, with maybe some more overt R&B inflections. Maybe just to my ear. A solid album
I was pretty bored by this one. But then again, I am not doing drugs in some European club in the 90's
I thought this was a cool little piece of power pop. Definitely will be looking to check out some more of their catalogue
Just a complete and tremendous album. So extremely talented
Not a band I was super familiar with, but knew them from general conversation on the Brit Pop resurgence. Generally well constructed songs but the sneer is fairly heavy on the vocals. Good harmonies
Raspy Rod
What a wild album. Had no expectations going in, probably for the best. I probably need some more time with it, but I would say that there's a lot of good material here. Pretty funky

Pretty damn good pop punk
Top notch production on this one. Just a classic
Pretty good 90s Alt Rock
Decent garage rock. It's over quickly!
Weird to hear it outside of the singles, which were so popular at the time. Pretty solid
A kind of wild mish mash of styles and sounds. Probably not something I would revisit
"There She Goes" is a 10/10 banger, but the rest of the album is a little lacking in that same drive, at least to my ears. Bordered on rockabilly in some parts
Really liked this one. Was not very familiar with them but definitely liked the vibe
I enjoyed this much more than the previous Lennon/Ono band record, which I thought was a slog, outside of a few good tracks
Highly abrasive, but does have some nuggets of musicality buried in there
Pretty much a perfect album. One of the best rock records ever made
A little glossy for some (including the band I think), but still one of the best rock records of the 90's. Spent countless hours with this one
Unimpeachable. A perfect record
Perfect album
Love this album. Only reason I knock it down a star is it gets a little saggy on the back half. But overall is still excellent
It's so ingrained in our consciousness at this point, that it can be easy to dismiss. Late nights driving, bonfires with friends, and planetarium shows do not dull the power of the music one iota. The band will change and they will move in very different directions as the personal relationships start to fracture and business really starts to get in the way of the music, but this will always be a perfect document
This is a desert island disc for me. Spoonman is the only kind of miss in my mind, but not going to stop me from listening from top to bottom
