Idlewild
Everything But The GirlThis was, without a doubt, the worst album on here so far. I'd rather listen to the Smiths.
This was, without a doubt, the worst album on here so far. I'd rather listen to the Smiths.
This was fine. I didn't hate it. Didn't love it. Largely forgettable.
Easily one of my top 50 albums. The quirkiness and uniqueness of Björk has always set them apart from other artists. Been a fan of this album from the very first listen.
Well, you've managed to surprise me once again with how terrible this band is. I had almost forgotten. I have no idea how they managed to get on this list, let alone twice. I feel like we're all being punk'd. Please, for the love of god, do not let them be on here a third time.
I've known about this band for a while thanks to Henry Rollins' tattoo, but had never really given them a listen. I really enjoyed the industrial chaos sound.
Overall pretty bland. I did like the attempts at Billie Jean, but I wouldn't listen again.
I've always enjoyed the hit song on this album, but had never listened beyond that. Was a little slow and underwhelming. There was one song that I did enjoy, Jennifer, that reminded me a lot of Daniel by Bat for Lashes.
Easily one of my top 50 albums. The quirkiness and uniqueness of Björk has always set them apart from other artists. Been a fan of this album from the very first listen.
Not really a fan of this. The songs all felt the same. The only song that I had heard prior to this was on the Crow soundtrack, which I did enjoy.
Great classic punk album.
Wasn't a fan of this until the very last 30 seconds of the very last song. He really went all out there.
Not bad as background music, but not really my thing.
Not terrible. Would maybe listen again.
Not terrible, but if this were on the radio, I'd probably change the channel.
I had never heard of this band, but I really enjoyed it. I liked how the musical themes carried from track to track, and told a musical story.
Definitely an album I already had in my library, and reminds me of the mid 90s. Always a good listen.
Decent, but probably wouldn't listen again.
Such an influential artist.
Super fun. Never listened before, but would definitely listen again. I had heard a cover version of The Model by Big Black that I've been listening to for years.
Kinda disappointed that this wasn't available in Apple Music and that I had to listen to it in YouTube Music. LOL. Overall decent background music, but didn't seem like anything special.
Not a fan at all. This is the first album that I almost stopped listening to.
Not my thing.
This was an album that I had always wanted to listen to. I enjoyed it, but wouldn't seek out a return listen.
Fun background music. Made me dance a little in my chair, so rating a little higher for the extra energy.
Not bad, but wasn't really into it.
Never been a fan of ZZ Top, but I did find myself tapping my feet to this. It was fun, but I wouldn't actively seek it out.
A little repetitive, but was decent background music.
Not a fan of Zeppelin, never have been. I really wanted to turn this off.
Classic punk rock at its finest.
I had never listened to this band before, but after reading the description of the album, I was very excited. However, it did not live up to the hype, and felt that it just went on and on.
Decent, but not my favorite.
At first I was kinda digging this, then it felt like it had been playing for hours, then I got back into it. Decent as background music, but I wouldn't listen again on purpose.
I don't think that I would ever purposefully listen to this one again, unless it was playing while I was walking through TJ Maxx.
Excellent album.
Totally not my thing and probably the least listenable album so far. Might have to go back and revise my Zeppelin rating for this one.
I've always been a fair-weather Who fan, but have never listened to this album. I wasn't really that into it.
Good album, but not the best MJ album. So many tracks that I would skip if I had this playing outside of this list.
Not a fan. I really feel bad for this guy because he seems really upset about everything.
Definitely enjoyed this one. Never listened all the way through a CCR album before, but found myself tapping my toe more than once.
Not my favorite PJ Harvey album.
I couldn't give Prince less than 4 stars for anything that he ever did.
I didn't like this one. Not a fan of the Stones, but this was definitely not my thing.
This one had some highs and lows. At times I really enjoyed it, but at others I wished it would would just stop.
Not a fan of this at all.
Not bad. I found myself tapping my toe a time or two. The first part of the first song was great, and that gets an extra star.
This was way worse than I remember it being.
I really want to like Bad Brains, but I cannot get into them.
Not terrible and I was really getting into the first song, then it went off the rails and downhill from there.
So many great tracks, and I was dancing in my seat the entire time. Perfection.
Didn't like the last Stones album, and this felt the same.
At first I was excited, then realized how boring this was. Until the final act, then I was dancing in my seat and singing along.
Not terrible. Felt like generic indie radio music though.
Decent, but not great.
Kraftwerk is kinda growing on me.
Very boring.
Never heard this before, but didn't hate it. Really felt the Cure in this one and for that, I'm rating it higher.
This wasn't terrible, but every song felt like the last.
Been a member of the fanclub for decades.
Enjoyed this one.
Never really listened to this band before, but didn't hate it.
Definitely enjoyed this one.
Didn't really like this. It felt too yacht rock for me.
This was fun, but not my fav.
Never heard of this band before. Felt a little generic 70s rock.
Never listened to this one either, but was really bored.
What a slog to get through. Wake me up when this album ends.
Another snoozer.
Not really a fan of this, but it was definitely better than the last few, so that gives it an extra star.
Meh. Not super into classic rock.
Surprisingly enjoyable.
Meh.
I'm a fan of Dusty, but wasn't really feeling this album.
Wasn't really expecting to like this, but was pleasantly surprised.
Was super excited at first, but then it felt like it dragged on.
Even though I knew several of the songs on this album, I wasn't a fan.
Not the worst thing I've heard on here.
This was a weird one. When the music was playing it was great, but when they were just talking, not so much.
Not terrible.
This album felt like it would never end. The only redeeming quality was that each song felt different and it faded into the background.
Sonic Youth will always hold a special place in my heart.
Never been a big fan, but also never actively hated her music.
Didn't hate it, but it's not very memorable.
Enjoyed this one.
Never hated this band, and found myself tapping my foot and singing along several times.
Honestly have never heard any of the songs on this album. Probably why I didn't enjoy it as much had it been some more classic bangers. However, I didn't hate it.
At first I was excited by this, but then quickly found it unlistenable. I really like noisey music, but this didn't really click.
Not a fan of this band.
At first I was super excited for this, but after the first song, it fell off the rails for me.
Surprisingly not bad. Faded into the background, which I think was the purpose.
I found myself enjoying this more than I thought I would. But, their version of Common People pales in comparison to the brilliance that is the William Shatner / Ben Folds version.
Yes. This was the best album on here in a looong time.
Enjoyed this way more than I expected.
Didn't hate this one.
Enjoyed this more than I would have enjoyed the sequel album. Eddie forever!
Did not like this one at all.
Did not care for this one. First of all, how do you even say this band's name? There are so many different combinations of The The that can be used.
A timely Christmas gift from the 1001 random album generator. I'm a sucker for any Christmas music.
Didn't hate this, but didn't really like it.
Really did not like her Al Green cover.
Enjoyed this one.
Never been a big Beatles fan, but this wasn't terrible.
Oh Iggy. A little slow, but enjoyable.
Not a fan of this at all.
Oh Iggy. A little slow.
Enjoyed the title track, but after that.... zzzzz
I'm really sorry Ryan, but I just couldn't get into this.
Wow, so not a fan of this.
Simon & Garfunkel hold a special place in my heart. One of my favorite songs of all time is on this album, Cecilia.
This was way better than I thought it would be.
Yes! If only this album had Rock N Roll Radio, it would be perfection.
I really thought that I would like this more than I did.
Not into this at all, but it did blend into the background and wasn't impossible to get through.
Not a fan of this.
Yes, now this is great.
Meh. Felt like it just kept going and going.
Not bad. Found myself bopping to this one.
Never been a big Beatles fan, but also never hated them. Enjoyed their LSD journey.
Never heard of this before, but didn't hate it. I was glad when it was over though.
At first I thought that this might be the album that finally clicked with me and Morrissey. It started out with some bangers that didn't feel like typical Morrissey. If this album ended after 2/3 of the way through, I would have given this at least 3 stars. But, in typical Morrissey fashion, he ruined it with his crooning in the final stretch. Alas, this is why I don't like his music.
Meh. Not a fan.
Enjoyed this one.
Meh, not a fan.
I enjoyed this one. I've never actively listened to this band before, but might consider it now.
A classic, and still just as timely.
Meh. Definitely some classics, and I probably wouldn't change the radio station if one of these played, but I would also never seek them out.
Didn't think this album would ever end.
Enjoyed this one. Never listened to Common before, but several of the additional artists I was a fan of prior.
Meh.
It's ok, I guess.
Found myself dancing a little in my seat to this. Fun.
Enjoyed this one.
Never listened to the entire album, and didn't hate it.
Never listened to this before, but was aware of the band. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
Enjoyed this one a little.
Meh, if this hadn't followed another one of this band, it might have gotten a higher rating, but it wasn't as good.
Not a fan of Metallica, and definitely not a fan of a 2+ hour Metallica album.
Had the song Psycho Killer in my head all weekend, so I'm going to give this one a little higher rating.
Well, if the artist doesn't sum this up enough, then the album title does. LOL. This actually wasn't terrible, but it did feel like all the songs were the same.
Yes, finally something that I like!
Two good albums in a row, what's happening here.
Really enjoyed this.
Enjoyed listening to this with my son. He's in band and plays percussion, so he really enjoyed hearing all the sounds and telling me what they were.
Not terrible, but every song sounded the same.
Meh.
Not a fan of Dylan.
Didn't hate this.
YES! When the other Funkadelic album came up, I saw that this existed. I listened to it right away. I knew Maggot Brain from the Mike Watt album Ball-Hog or Tugboat - J Mascis shreds this into oblivion. After reading about how the song came about, I can feel it. Absolutely loved this.
Not really my thing. Didn't hate it, but didn't like it.
Not really a fan, but didn't hate it.
What can I say, I'm a sucker for noise. Loved this.
Despite having listened to many of these songs many many times, I just really don't like her music.
Enjoyed this one.
My initial thought is this feels like a demo recording that this guy just hit record and then got really wasted and just made incoherent noises and random babbling for an hour. Then, I read more about the album, and it really happened this way. So, while I hated it, I'm giving more stars for being able to nail how this album happened.
Meh.
Didn't hate this as much as I thought I might.
Been a fan of Big Black for years. Never really considered them proto-industrial, but I'm buying it. Personally, Songs about F___ing is my go-to Big Black album.
Definitely the right album to play at the right time.
Did not like this one at all.
Not bad.
Being a big fan of the Melvins, searching for their music in countless record stores, I've come across the Mekons on more than one occasion. I was always curious what they sounded like, but never really had the motivation to give them a listen. Now that I've heard them, I feel like I haven't been missing out on anything.
I could have gone the rest of my life without listening to this and never felt like I was missing anything.
RIP Lemmy. High energy classic.
Meh. Didn't feel like anything special, but I didn't hate it.
This was kinda fun. Nothing earth-shattering.
Not a fan of this. It almost felt like it was some sort of spoof album of an entire genre.
Not a fan. Two terrible albums in a row. I'm almost afraid to find out what today's album will be.
Never been a big fan, but never actively hated listening to them. Reminds me of high school.
One of my favorite Black Sabbath albums.
Apple music didn't have this one, so I had to search for it. Finally found a compiled album on YouTube. Definitely not worth that much effort.
I've always like the Who, but this album did not really resonate with me at the time I listened to it.
Not terrible, but forgettable.
Great album.
Always like the band, but didn't really enjoy this album.
Enjoyed this, but really love his Everythang's Corrupt album.
Maybe not Bowie at my favorite point in his career, but not terrible either.
When the first notes hit, I was super excited. Felt very reggae-ska. As it went on though, I became less and less into it.
Really enjoyed the first half of the album. Second half, not so much. Also didn't realize how many songs I knew but didn't know they were by this band.
I could have gone the rest of my life without listening to this and been totally fine. Not very memorable.
Never hated Elvis Costello, but also never really liked him a lot.
Always enjoyed Simon & Garfunkel.
Meh. Never been a big Bowie fan, but also never actively hated his music. This kinda all felt the same.
Meh. Not really my thing. Fortunately it kinda faded into the background, so it wasn't unbearable.
Enjoyed this. Been a fan of his music for a while, and this felt very much the same as what I was already familiar with.
Not a fan of U2. However, this faded into the background and I felt like I was walking through the mall mid-00s. It also felt like it would never end.
This wasn't bad. It melded well with the ambiance of my day.
Never been a big fan, but also never actively hated the Pixies. I knew a lot of these songs and found it bearable.
I really like Björk, but this album wasn't resonating.
Not a big fan of this. It was decent, and I wouldn't turn it off if it came on the radio, but I would turn it down.
This was decent background music.
Wow. It's wild how many of the issues brought forth during H2O Gate Blues still hold true in today's political climate. Not only are they still a thing, they've gotten worse.
I enjoyed this one.
Meh. Not really into this, but also didn't actively hate it.
I enjoyed this. Was fun and didn't feel a lot like most classic rock albums.
This was fun, but forgettable.
Not really a fan of this, but I knew 80% of the songs. Must have been playing on the radio during my tenure as a maintenance man at TJ Maxx circa late 90s.
I recently learned about this band, and was surprised that my son was a fan of their music. It was a way slower pace than I wanted out of them.
Loved it. Been a fan of Fats for a long time.
This wasn't terrible, but it was forgettable.
This was good background music to get my day started to.
This was enjoyable, but felt very repetitive.
Feels like summer.
Not a fan at all.
Wasn't terrible, but also kinda meh.
A classic.
Great album to get the day off to a good start with.
This wasn't terrible, but largely forgettable.
This was fine. Felt like something I would hear at a JCPenney in like the late 90s.
Not the worst Rolling Stones album out there. Enjoyed that it felt more bluegrassy.
Been a fan of King Crimson for decades. Really like the noise aspect of this album.
Not a fan of Lou Reed, but something about the raw nature of this really resonated with me.
Didn't realize how many of these songs I knew.
Reminded me of the mid-90s and the short-lived obsession with techno music.
Didn't hate this, but it felt like every song was the same, and didn't ever end.
This was a fun one to hear on a hot late spring day.
Not really my type of music, but was listenable.
Wow this was hard to get through.
I'm so tired of Nick Cave in this list. Fingers-crossed this is the last album I need to endure.
The very beginning of this, before he started singing was good. It was all down hill from there.
This was a fun one.
This was enjoyable.
I've always wanted to listen to this band, but never could bring myself to actually do it. I wasn't blown away, but I also didn't hate it. If I had heard this maybe 30 years ago, I might have been more into it.
Never been a fan of Neil Young. Didn't care for this.
Didn't hate this album. There she goes is probably in every movie set in the 1990s, and feels like it belongs.
Not a fan of Zeppelin, but this was tolerable.
Getting a little tired of The Rolling Stones in this list. Not a fan.
Enjoyed this one.
Didn't hate this one, but also largely forgettable.
This was a fun album.
Favorite track is Man on the Moon - other than that one - felt all the same.
Didn't hate this, but didn't really care for it either.
I had never heard of this band before. Wasn't my favorite, but I probably wouldn't turn it off if it came on the radio.
About half of this album was great. The other half felt like they were studio demos that really weren't fully realized.
Found this to be really boring. Relax is definitely the best track.
Didn't care for this much. The entire album felt like the same song playing over and over again. Quite the slog to get through.
I appreciate this album for launching Snoop's career, but some of the skits are absolutely terrible.
Amazing album.
Enjoyed this one.
This was a band/guy that I'd always wanted to listen to since I was familiar with them, but hadn't ever listened. Was listenable, but nothing Earth-shattering.
Meh. Never understood the appeal of Springsteen.
Good easy-listening rock album.
Didn't hate this, but I forget what it even sounded like after two days, so that probably says it all.
I enjoyed this one more than I expected to. Revolution 9 was by far my favorite song.
This was a fun way to get the day started and kept me bopping my head throughout.
Never heard of this band before. I could have gone the rest of my life without ever hearing this and not felt like I missed anything. It wasn't terrible, just meh.
Meh. Almost fell asleep listening to this.
Didn't hate this. It really felt like the early to mid 90s.
Enjoyed this one.
Enjoyed this one.
Enjoyed this. Very upbeat.
This was without a doubt one of the hardest albums to get through so far. There's something about it that was making me irrationally angry.
Not bad, but not really great.
Meh. Felt like every song sounded exactly the same, which made this a slog to get through.
Never understood the hype.
The music video for You can call me Al is so great.
This was a fun one. Never heard any of the songs before, but they felt like they weren't unknown.
Never listened to this band before, and didn't hate it.
Enjoyed this classic album.
Felt familiar but also unfamiliar. Also not terrible.
Classic crooning at its best.
Not what I'd expect from a Beach Boys album, but enjoyed the departure.
Enough of The Smiths already.
This was terrible. I don't see the appeal of Janis Joplin.
I've never listened to anything by them beyond their radio hits, and surprisingly I didn't hate this.
Enjoyed this one.
This was a good start-your-day album.
So far, this is probably the first album by a band I had never listened to that I would listen to again. Really enjoyed the sound.
I enjoyed how different this was from most of the recent albums in this list. It was a welcomed departure.
This was, without a doubt, the worst album on here so far. I'd rather listen to the Smiths.
I have relatives that live in Talihina and my mom always tells be about this band, but I'd never listened to them before. Was a little surprised by this one.
Several great radio hits on this one that bring me back to mid 2000s.
Not terrible. At least half of it was enjoyable.
Never listened to The Roots before, but definitely enjoyed this.
This is still my least favorite Beastie album.
Not a fan of this band. At one point in my life I might have been, but not now.
Wasn't too fond of this, but also didn't hate it.
Surprised by how many of these I knew. Still not a fan, but surprised.
The only positive thing about this album is that it means that we're almost over listening to Morrisey.
Not a bid Doors fan, but also found this listenable.
Not my favorite Beatles album, but then again, I don't have a favorite. Just meh.
Surprisingly, I didn't hate this, and it actually ended before I wanted it to. Would give this band another listen.
Not my favorite Elvis album, but it's Elvis.
I've heard of this band before, but had never listened. Not surprisingly, they sound exactly like a band called "Drive-By Truckers" should sound. Not a big fan, but also didn't hate it.
Never listened to this band, but feel like I should have been all along.
This was unexpectedly enjoyable. It definitely felt like the 70s, but also didn't feel repetitive.
Not my favorite Beck album, but fun and nostalgic.
Didn't hate this, but didn't love it either. I could have gone my entire life without listening to this album and not feel like I missed anything.
Not really my style - felt a lot like The Smiths.
Kinda enjoyed this. Plus, hearing the original version of "The Killing Moon" after knowing and loving the Ghost version was a big plus.
I had never heard of this before, and at first I was intrigued. As it went on though, it just felt like it would never end.
Enjoyed this one.
Not really a Neil Young fan, but this wasn't terrible.
Great classic KISS. Prior to ever listening to them, seeing their outfits and their album artwork, I was expecting one thing from them, and then I heard them and was totally at a loss.
Fun classic hip-hop album.
Not really a fan, but also didn't hate this.
This was fun.
Had heard the Poison Arrow song before and enjoyed it, and liked that the album felt cohesive.
I've never listened to this before, but after reading the wiki, was pretty excited. I was really disappointed with the actual music.
I really wanted to like this more that I did.
Could have done without listening to this album. Pretty terrible.
Found this to be a pretty depressing album.
Hadn't listened to this band before, but actually kinda enjoyed it. Felt some Gene Ween vibes on several songs.
This album was a slow roll. I wasn't too into it at first, but it got progressively better.
Largely forgettable. But listenable.
Quite the slow and steady album, and such a sea change from Midnite Vultures (my favorite Beck album)
This was fine. Didn't hate it and didn't really like it. It was just there.
I've known about this band for a while thanks to Henry Rollins' tattoo, but had never really given them a listen. I really enjoyed the industrial chaos sound.
Enjoyed most of this album. Not sure that I've ever listened the entire way through before, but there were some big hits and some misses.
Never been a fan of U2, and this didn't change my mind in the slightest.
Meh. Just glad that my coworker Ryan is no longer doing this music challenge. I was explicitly told that if I rated Steely Dan poorly that we'd have words. Well, Ryan, I'm rating it poorly. But, I'll give it an extra star just for you.
Did not like this one. After reading the wiki and comparing them to Morrissey, I couldn't unhear it.
This was the first time that I've listened to more than a soundbite of Taylor Swift (other than Shake it off) - and found it enjoyable. Reminded me of Bat for Lashes with the vocal range and somber tone of most songs on the album.
Enjoyed this more than I expected I would. Not bad.
This wasn't terrible, but largely forgettable.
As far as the Doors go, this one was pretty good. Really like the organ work on it.
Not really a fan, but didn't hate this. The entire album felt like it was all the same song.
Enjoyed this.
Not at all what I expected this band to sound like and was surprised that I didn't hate it.
This was just OK.
Never really been a fan of Zeppelin, but this was listenable.
This felt like the most generic classic rock album I've ever heard. Largely forgettable, but not terrible. It kinda melted into the background and got overlooked.
Didn't hate this, but also would never listen to this again.
A little more country than I expected, but still pretty meh.
Never listened to much beyond the radio hits. This was fine, but not great.
I remember when this first came out and it felt like it had been around since the 70s. Enjoyed the radio hits, but don't think that I'd ever choose to listen to this album again.
This was fine. I didn't hate it, but also didn't really love it.
Enjoyed this way more than I expected. It was overly chaotic and just sounded like they had a really fun time recording it. Would maybe go back and listen again.
This was enjoyable.
Enjoyed this one. The chaos of Soft as Snow is fun.
This was just ok.
This was fine, but kinda boring.
I was a fan of Metallica for about 2 months as a middle school student. After that, they just don't resonate with me. Every song on this album sounded and felt just like every other song on this album.
This was soooo boring.
This wasn't terrible, but it was largely forgettable. I listened to this yesterday and can't recall at all what it sounded like. I remember not hating it, but that's it.
I always liked the album artwork more than the band. From the looks of them, I think that they should be heavier, but you can't judge an album form it's cover I guess. Did enjoy Phantom of the Opera.
Didn't hate this, but it felt like it went on forever, and all the songs sounded the same.
This was pretty terrible and makes me reconsider whether whomever put this list together really understands good music or not. I could have gone my entire life without listening to this and would have been just fine. However, it still isn't as bad as Everything But the Girl.
This album had so many surprising moments of chaos. Loved it.
This was not really that good.
Not sure that I've listened to this start to finish in more than 20 years. Lots of high marks.
Left my wallet in El Segundo - what an unusual song but such a vibe.
This wasn't that good.
I didn't hate this, but I wouldn't have chosen to listen to it, and I really don't understand how it's on this list.
I liked this. I always feel like an outsider when I listen to Kendrick. His music speaks about his experiences and I can't understand because I have all the white privilege in the world. King Kunta was my favorite track.
This wasn't the worst album on here (I'm looking at you Everything But The Girl) - but it felt like a generic 80's album. Nothing special.
Enjoyed this.
This was fine, but forgettable.
Rama lama fa fa fa!
This was fairly forgettable but not terrible.
A few gems on this one that I never knew the origins of... I'm looking at you Coconut. Of course, the Fred Schneider version is my favorite. Also Without You... still can't figure out what band covered it, but enjoyed it.
This was pretty good. Oye Como Va got me moving in my seat.
There's something about this band that just turns my stomach. I never understood the hype or the fanbase. Although, I'd rather listen to this than Everything but the girl...
I wanted to like this more than I did. I didn't hate it though.
Overall it felt very one-note. All the songs felt like they were exactly the same, causing this to seem like it went on forever.
This was good. Set a nice ambiance as I was listening and working.
Not a big fan of R.E.M., but this was listenable.
Didn't hate this, and it didn't feel like it went on forever.
Enjoyed this one.
This was fun, although I don't know if they could get away with a song called "Mongoloid" in today's political climate.
As far as this type of music goes, this wasn't bad.
Didn't really care for this. Felt unenthusiastic.
Enjoyed this one.
Didn't really like this - but now I know where Cinnamon Girl came from. Although, I do prefer the Matthew Sweet cover.
Never heard of this band before, but enjoyed this album. Felt familiar.
This was enjoyable.
This was not really great. Sometimes I wonder if we're being tested by some AI to see if we're going to just listen to whatever they decide to give us and say is good. I'm looking at you Everything but The Girl.
Never been a fan, but also I didn't hate this as much as I thought I would.
Not really my kind of music, but wasn't terrible.
Really good to just chill and listen to this.
I really wanted to like this more than I did. I didn't hate it, I just didn't love it.
This was fine. I didn't hate it. Didn't love it. Largely forgettable.
This felt familiar, and I was surprised that I hadn't heard this band before. Enjoyed it.
It's people like Bob Dylan who lead me to believe that people with very little talent can succeed in life. Not a fan.
As if having two Bob Dylan albums on this list were bad enough, to put them back-to-back is sadistic. However, this album wasn't as terrible as the last one. I think that he might have had time to take lessons and improve his overall musical quality. Still better than Everything but the Girl.
Never listened to this band before, but had seen the Riff Raff inspired album artwork and was curious. Enjoyed this one.
This was fine, but nothing special.
This was pretty decent background music.
Enjoyed this. Really like the guitar sound that he used in this and would love to see someone play like this IRL.
This was fine as background music.
About halfway through this album I was enjoying it, but by the end, I was ready for it to be over. It felt very repetitive.
Enjoyed this one.
This was fun, and was a great way to start the week. Felt myself moving in my chair.
Not the worst album on here, but definitely not the best. I found that I was able to get through it without getting irrationally angry.
Not really a fan of this, but didn't actively hate it.
Well, you've managed to surprise me once again with how terrible this band is. I had almost forgotten. I have no idea how they managed to get on this list, let alone twice. I feel like we're all being punk'd. Please, for the love of god, do not let them be on here a third time.
Honestly, I have no recollection of ever having listened to this, even though I know that I did on Friday. Apparently it wasn't that memorable, either in a good or bad way.
Always enjoy a good Sonic Youth album. Also, just found out that Kim Gordon is 70 years old. That makes me feel so old.
Enjoyed this. Also, the Making Believe song - had no idea that the Social Distortion version was a cover. Really like that song.
This was fine and was decent as background music.
Such an influential album with so many great tracks. Earth People, 3000, Blue Flowers, and my fav halfsharkalligatorhalfman.
Really liked this. Been a fan of hers for a while and enjoyed the beats.
Always enjoy a Dolls album. There have been some good albums back to back in this list, so my guess is that the next one will be Everything but the Girl.
Getting some Phish vibes on this one, especially Soldier Blue. This felt all over the place as far as style was concerned. Some songs missed the mark for me, but others were pretty good.
Fun album that felt all over the place. Enjoyed the samples and scratches.
This was fine, but nothing special. It faded into the background.
Dancing Choose was pretty good, but the rest of the album was just fine.
This wasn't terrible, but it all felt the same.
This was fine, but I wasn't super into it.
Enjoyed this. I have a few of their albums in my library, but not this one. I don't think that I'd actively seek it out again.
Didn't hate this, and found it quite enjoyable as background music to get my day started.
Recognized Genius of Love from the X-Ecutioners. Really enjoy their versions, but this wasn't bad.
Never been a fan of U2, but this was tolerable.
For a band called Massive Attack, I didn't expect such a snooze-fest. This was really really bad. I was almost longing for Everything but the Girl - it was that terrible... almost. I just can't get over how bad this was.
Love this album. I remember first seeing the music video for "Thing Called Love" and being so intrigued and weirded out at the same time.
After listening to the first few songs, I was really enjoying this album... then gigantic came on and I remembered why I never got into this band. Still going to give them a three star review because the first part of the album was great.
This was fun, but felt a little repetitive.
Kept waiting for "I do it for you" to play, but realized the next day that this wasn't Bryan, but instead the knockoff Ryan. It wasn't terrible though.
This album feels like the late 90s. I had a neighbor in the dorms that would play Song #2 on repeat for hours. Fun times. I do like "I'm just a killer for your love"
How is this guy so popular? I just don't get it. I'm really considering abandoning this list project.
Such a statement album. I was always a bigger fan of Dookie, but over the years, this one has grown on me.
This was fine. No complaints, but nothing Earth shattering.
Not the best Nirvana album, but still solid.
We've had a few great albums in a row, I can't wait to see what's next. Hopefully no more Massive Attack or Everything but the Girl.
This wasn't terrible, but I really wanted it to end. Every song felt the same as the last and makes me wonder why these artists get added to this list in the first place.
Meh, not a fan.
Didn't care for this.
Didn't really care for this. I didn't hate it, but there was something about it that just didn't click.
This was fine, but wasn't great.
Not my favorite Hüsker Dü album, or Bob Mould fronted band, but enjoyed this nevertheless.
This was ok, but felt very one-note.
Enjoyed this one. The Dead Milkmen covered the Fascist Groove Thang and the original is just as good.
This was fine as background music, but nothing special.
Enjoyed this. Not my favorite Ice Cube album, but great nevertheless.
Always enjoy PJ Harvey.
Why did every song sound like American Pie? Did he even try to make anything else? Also, the Me First and the Gimme Gimmes cover of Vincent is better than the original.
Enjoyed this more than I expected.
Largely forgettable, but not terrible. Felt like I was listening to some rando band's homemade demo tape they made on a casio tapedeck.
Not my favorite Bowie album, but not bad.
Don't think that I've ever heard any of these songs before. They weren't terrible, but they weren't great.
Never listened to this album all the way through, but enjoyed it.
I've always liked Frank Black, and enjoyed this album.
This was fine, but so so so long. At least it wasn't 3.5 hours of Everything but the Girl or Massive Attack.
This was fine, but nothing great.
This was fine, and better than the Airport ambiance album.
I enjoyed this. Reminded me a little of M.I.A. but not as fun.
This was fine, but nothing special.
This was fine, but didn't feel original.
This was fine until "Has Anybody Here Seen Hank?" where they channeled one of the worst sounds - Bob Dylan.
Never been a fan of this band. Don't really like the singer's voice.
This was fine, but largely forgettable. Was ok as background music.
Actually enjoyed this. I've never listened before to this band, and it wasn't at all what I expected.
This wasn't bad.
This was pretty wild and unexpected. The songs sounded like they were reversed giving this an other-worldly sound.
This wasn't terrible. I've never been a fan of AC/DC, but enjoyed it enough.
Liked this one more than the other Pixies albums on here - mainly because Kim Deal didn't do too many vocals.
This sounds like the terribly generic music that plays in a suburban dental office. Not a fan. I was thinking about how bad this was and was comparing it to Massive Attack - but unlike Massive Attack, this didn't have a band name like Massive Attack that was pretending to be something that it wasn't. The name of this band felt more suited to the horrible music they were making.
Not my favorite My Bloody Valentine album, but enjoyed it.
Enjoyed this way more than I thought I would.
Liked this way more than I expected. Not at all like the songs that I've heard by this band before.
I wanted to like this way more than I did.
This was ok.
This started out way better than it ended.
This was fine, but other than Come on Eileen, was meh.
Not really that great.
Such a classic album.
Not a fan of Hole.
I've listened to Breaking the Law before, but hadn't listened to really anything else by Judas Priest. It was ok, but nothing that I'd actively seek out again.
This wasn't bad. I hadn't listened to them before, but probably wouldn't again.
I've already forgotten all about this album after less than 24 hours. That probably speaks volumes.
Not at all what I expected from the Bee Gees. This was fine, but I'm more of a disco Bee Gees fan.
This was ok. The first note that she hit was fire.
This wasn't as terrible as I was expecting.
This was fine.
This was ok, but didn't feel like anything special.
Didn't really care for this.
I enjoyed this. Not my favorite.
Enjoyed this psychedelic way to start the day.
This was fine, but definitely not my favorite Beatles album.
Enjoyed this. Not my favorite album of theirs, but still good.
This was ok. I didn't hate it, and it worked well as background music.
Enjoyed this earlier MJ album. Fun to hear the disco roots on some of these songs.
Enjoyed this one. Such a unique sounding voice.
Not really my jam, but I didn't hate this.
I have no idea why "the boss" gets so many albums on this list. He's pretty terrible... but not as bad as Bob Dylan or Everything But the Girl or Massive Attack. I just don't get the appeal.
OK - Free Form Guitar - ROCKS! I wasn't so sure about this album at first, but this track saved the entire album.
Enjoyed this one.
Despite his recent problems, I still liked this album. It's sometimes hard to separate the person from the music, but he's thrived in controversy from the beginning.
This was really bad. I wanted to like it at first, but then I really wanted to turn it off after the first song or two. Ultimately I decided that if I could get through Massive Attack that I could get through this. Wouldn't recommend.
This was fine and not really what I expected from the band name.
Had never heard this band before, but feel like it's one that I would listen to again.
Never been a big fan, but this wasn't terrible.
This was fine, but didn't have any standout tracks.
Not really a fan, but didn't hate this.
Of course Take On Me was great. Enjoyed The Sun Always Shines on T.V.. Other than that, it was ok.
This was fun, and I'll probably listen to more of this band. I only knew of them from They Might Be Giants song XTC vs Adam Ant.
This was good. I listened at the end of the day and it was a great way to unwind.
Enjoyed this one. Not my favorite King Crimson album, but still great.
No "big" hits, but still a great album.
Surprised by how many of these songs I knew. Didn't hate this, but would never actively listen to it again.
This was fine.
This felt like it would never end... in a bad way. Not a fan.
I think that I enjoyed this at the time (yesterday) but 24 hours later, I have no recollection of what it even sounded like. That probably says it all.
This was ok, but nothing that I'd ever actively listen to again.
Enjoyed this.
Didn't care for this at all.
After Licensed to Ill, this is my second favorite Beastie album.
Enjoyed this. Not my favorite Sonic Youth album, but still good. Honestly surprised how many of their albums are on this list.
This was interesting. Didn't hate it, but wasn't a fan.
Enjoyed this. I've never really gotten too deep into Kendrick Lamar's music. I feel like it's not made for me, so I have a hard time relating to it. I do enjoy listening to it, but sometimes feel like I shouldn't be.
Easily my second favorite Slayer album. So pumped to see Kerry King next month - early setlists show him playing Raining Blood - and I can't wait.
Every song sounded exactly the same. Not a fan.
Enjoyed this.
This wasn't terrible, but I really don't understand how this was number 1 on the Apple all time best album list?
Really love John Zorn's chaotic music.
Didn't really care for this. Probably should have liked the "talking" singing since I like William Shatner's stuff, but this guy didn't impress.
This was decent. I didn't find myself looking to see how much time was left because I was hating it, so that's a plus.
If the singer never sung, this would have been great. Not a fan of his voice at all.
This was not what I expected from a band called Sister Sledge. I didn't dislike the music, but wanted something way heavier.
Kinda meh.
Enjoyed this one. Good way to start the week.
This was ok, but nothing great. I did like the radio hit "Radio Free Europe".
Even though this felt like something that would play on an alternative rock radio station, I didn't hate it.
This guy sounded like he was either really wasted or really old. Either way, I had no idea what he was saying. Wouldn't listen again, but also didn't completely hate it.
Great album.
Not my jam, but I didn't find myself constantly looking to see when it would be over. Just a few times.
This was pretty terrible.
Had never listened to his solo stuff before. It was fine. I prefer his collab with Sunn O))) way more.
If this guy wasn't a terrible person, this would have been a good album. I just can't support him.
RIP Lemmy.
This was ok. Never been a big fan of B.B. King.
Not really a fan, but surprised at how many of these songs I knew.
Not really my jam, but didn't hate it. It felt really long though - probably because every song sounded the same.
I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the name of the band, and I knew the song Lowrider - this was fine, but felt like it took forever to get through.
This was really terrible.
Not really a fan of this.
Never really liked this band, but had never really listened to them. Now at least I understand why I don't like them.
Great album.
This guy is a little whiny, but tolerable at times.
Pretty decent way to start the day without getting too hyped up or worked up.
Enjoyed this one.
Not as bad as I was expecting.
Could have gone the rest of my life never having listened to this and been completely fine. Another album that I'm not sure why it's on this list.
Never listened to this band before, but it wasn't terrible. Wouldn't actively seek them out again though.
Enjoyed the song Monster, but still have a hard time getting past who this guy is.
Way better than I expected. Might listen to them again.
Not as bad as I was expecting.
As soon as Apple Music compared the lead singer of this band to Dylan, I knew it was going to be terrible. It sure was disappointing.
Meh. Not really into this.
Not really a fan of this, but didn't actively hate it. Felt like I was in the car with my mom.
Loved this. So many classic punk songs on one album.
Tainted love was great, the rest was... weird. Sex dwarf? for real?
This was better than I expected. Found it didn't feel like it took forever to get through.
Didn't hate this, but also found it kinda boring.
Enjoyed this one.
This wasn't my favorite, but wasn't bad.
I always thought this was a hip hop band. Didn't expect a rock sound. Didn't hate it either.
Great album, been a fan for years.
This was fine, but nothing that I'd ever want to listen to again.
So many Sonic Youth albums in this list. I never realized their impact, but have always enjoyed their music.
Felt like the first song would never end. Overall, this wasn't terrible.
Not at all what I expected this to be. Felt like it was from the 70s, but also felt repetitive.
I've listened to the radio hits before, but never this full album. The guy's voice was a little off for me, but I didn't hate this.
How Scott Walker got two albums on this list is beyond me, but good for him.
This was ok, but nothing that I'd ever want to actively listen to again.
This was fine. Never really got the appeal of this band, but felt like it could grow on me. Some of the tracks had a similar sound to the Cure, which I liked.
This was fine, but nothing that I'd ever want to listen to again.
I found that the task that I was completing while listening to this album could not have been better. This uplifted my spirits.
This was ok. Didn't really like it though.
Enjoyed this one, but wouldn't seek it out again.
This was ok, but I didn't love it.
I kinda liked this. I kept hearing thematic elements from the "Don't you want me" song throughout the album.
I really thought that I was going to hate this, but it wasn't bad. It felt long though.
I didn't hate this.
Not really what I thought this band sounded like. It was definitely better than what I had imagined, but nothing that I'd go back to.
This was ok. Not really a fan of folk music.
This was terrible. It almost felt like this guy was tricking everyone into believing that since he came from a famous band that he could do whatever he wanted and they'd eat it up.
This wasn't terrible.
Nice classic album. Loved the story about Body Count.
Surprised that I recognized the radio hit Brimful of Asha. This album certainly felt like it belongs to the late 90s. Wouldn't listen to the full album ever again, but enjoyed the nostalgia.
Love the Lemonheads. Saw them perform this album in full. Show was terrible because Evan Dando was completely wasted. Would not recommend them live.
They should never have opened this album with Seven Nation Army. It's such a banger and they had no chance of ever matching the vibe.
I could hear some different sounds in this, like Beck, but overall didn't really care for it. Most songs sounded the same.
There were what seemed to be two different singers on this album. I liked one and hated the other.
Not really a fan of this era of the Bee Gees.
Never been a big fan of Aerosmith, but this wasn't terrible.
I had previously heard of this band but had never listened to them before. I didn't hate it. But, I had also gone to a High on Fire show the night before and probably ruptured my eardrums. Why couldn't Everything But the Girl have been up next?
Enjoyed this. I like the Simon and Garfunkel super group better, but there are some great hits on this album.
This wasn't terrible, but I got a little tired of all the talking.
Always appreciate a good Elvis album. A lot of his music all sounds the same, but I have a soft spot in my heart for him.
I enjoyed listening to this. Also found one of his Christmas albums, and added that to my own list of music to listen to.
I feel like Scott Walker should have been in this band. It wasn't really what I expected, and I didn't hate it.
This was fine, but not sure why this was on this list.
I know that I listened to this, but it completely escapes my mind what I even thought about it. Must not have been memorable.
Enjoyed this one.
I liked this, but it's not my favorite Beck album.
This was fine, but nothing that I'd want to listen to again.
Enjoyed this one.
Didn't care for this at all. Felt like I was walking around J.C. Penney in the late 90s.
I like John Lee Hooker, but I didn't really like this album. I prefer him without other artists that dilute his power.
I wish that they sounded like their cover artwork implies they sound. A lot of metal bands have killer artwork, but the music just doesn't stack up. Talking to you Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.
This was fine, but felt a little generic.
I liked this, but it's not my favorite Queens album.
