Reviews (page 14 of 14)

Who thought that I had to listen to an album of elevator music before I died?

do not like jazz

This music reminds of all the boring parties I had to attend with my parents as a little boy.

I need some lyrics man

I'm getting a bit fed up with the jazz on here. It's all the same. Its easy listening and not unpleasant, but so dated and boring it beyond belief. The compiler seems to be of the opinion that it has to be brass or woodwind lead. Even the Soft Machine album they used was like that, instead of using Bundles or Softs. They need to show how it has been expanded rather than just repeating the same old tripe.

'Do, do do, do, do do, dah d dah'. Yawn. How did I manage to keep my concentration on this? I didn't. I've decided to book an appointment with the doctor to see if I have ADHD. I'm bound to have it. I refuse to take accountability for my behaviour. In this day and age it can't be any other reason. Twenty years ago I could have got away with saying it was just shit.

It’s jazz, I don’t really like jazz.

elevator music

Me aburrió, quizás no estaba en el mood

no, just jazzy jazz

non mi piace il jazz

Boring

A scant few sleepy, uninteresting bossa nova and samba jazz tracks. Reminiscent of the Rick and Morty "Human Music" bit and would play well as window dressing in a mediocre Mediterranean restaurant. My primary intent for listening to music is to feel and connect to a piece of art, hopefully it has something to say. When I listen to this, the experience I get is devoid of substance or interest. It's inoffensive and bland. Not for me.

no thanks, the minute the drum brush starts Im out.

The second samba jazz album on this list is music for playing in the background at restaurants.

Förbjud bossan! Hur klanderfritt spelat det än är, blir det aldrig mer än såsig salongsmusik. Vi får vara tacksamma för att vi åtminstone slipper Girl from Ipanema.

Not a fab

Not a huge fan of jazz

Я потерял дилдо

BORING

I asked chat gpt to write me some elevator music and the results were (a) dull and (b) indistinguishable from this album. I'm sure some of the musicians are talented, but i don't get any sense of breakthrough, originality, and certainly no thrills. An hour life that i will never get back. Helps to convince me that jazz and me are not made for each other

Track 1 thoughts: I tend not to love Jazz or Samba… but maybe I like JazzSamba! Track 2 thoughts: well maybe I don’t? The rest: This is spiraling me into a poisonous foul mood and I have no idea why.

more background music

How the fuck did Stan Getz get 3 albums on this list SO FAR? I'm only at like 160 and I have had 3 of these elevator music albums come my way already. I got the gist of it after 2 songs from the first one.

You know I hate jazz, but at least this had a beat and somewhat of a melody. It wasn’t discordant notes all over the place and the songs didn’t last a million years.

1/5 not for me

2 - TERRIBLE

Best Song: O Pato This is really not my thing at all. I am sure it is fine if you are into it but I'm not. 1/5.

Just not my thing - shit's got me sleepy at my desk ): 1/5 stars.

Hated it. To me this was the worst kind of musak hold music played whilst waiting for a dental appointment. Bland, limited dynamism and just all so corny. One of the first that I’ve listened to that I couldn’t wait to finish which was blissfully relatively short.

I won’t suffer through one more fucking jazz album.

It's just elevator music, every song sounds the same.

Anything jazz can get in the bin.

🐣🤡

- Bah. = < Sims 2 intro - 0 nummers toegevoegd aan MMMM

Jazz samba = shit merda

How does someone judge what is good Jazz and what is bad? I honestly cannot tell the difference and no amount of albums is able to either. To me it all sounds the same, awful.

Jazz Samba is not a genre of interest.

No, this music isn't for me. It may be great if you enjoy ballroom dancing.

I was wondering when these two titans were finally going to clash. No, not Getz and Byrd - jazz and samba! On the one hand, jazz has been one of the lowest ranking genres in my lineup; whereas samba has been THE highest (mostly because I've only had two albums and gave them both a passing 4). And the winner (or loser, as it were) is jazz. It's like the two had a baby called Bossa Nova and, while it did inherit some of the pleasantries of its mother, Samba, the boring drone of its pointless father, Jazz, doomed it to dumpster life. I might have mercifully given this a 2, but I'm pissed at the algorithm for giving me garbage for two weeks straight now.

Nope. Can I opt out to another string of nonstop jazz albums?

Not my thing

I've been on hold all weekend listening to Jizz Samba waiting to get to a more worthy album

Ersatz Musak. At its best, hotel lobby music, at its worst, hotel elevator music.

Not sure why I need to listen to this cheese, when If I wanted to be bored by such awful music, I could just call a utility company and be placed on hold for 30 minutes.

Jazzzzzz

Standout Songs: … Yeah I’m sorry, this album was NOT for me. It made me feel like I was in a hotel lobby, just… waiting. There were no words in this whole album, I prefer music with words, gives the music something to grasp on to. This is just a flat out jazz album. It may be someone’s taste but it ain’t mine. Next please.

Another background album for a cantina or dentist office. Mr. Getz gets another one on the list purely for being credited with starting a bossa nova movement in the US. For the time, I'm sure this was exciting and exotic compared with the standard big band jazz. Don't need any more jazz but I'm afraid we ain't done...0.95 stars.

Not for me 👎

Awful. Had to stop after first song. Reminded me of Cosby Show

Yeah nah

ZZZZZZZZZZ! 1 Star or F-.

2 day´s, 2 records both Jazz, why! what have I done to deserve this. Is this 1001 jazz albums that you have to listen to. I think I can live just fine with out them. Hope the 3 record is something that I can listen to.

Competently played background music is still background music

Dull I'm afraid. Not much better than lift music 1/5

elevator musik / 10

Can't bear jazz

Not my bag at all... So monotonous - music for lifts and shopping centres.

Jazz and samba. Not a choice I would make willingly.

4 songs in and I'm mentally checking out. They play this in Whole Foods and Days Inn elevators

Intensely boring and the sound of the samba shakers nearly drove me insane on some songs

Did not listen

Not for me at all

Jazzetyjazzetyjazz

Piece of shit

Supermarket compatible jazzy Bar Blues.

if you love sax...

I’m not a fan of jazz

Stan Getz, thumbs up; Charlie Byrd, thumbs down.

Background music.

Jazz saxophone. Not my kind of thing. Not bad though. Most likely will not listen again

Not horrible, but very boring. 2/10

Te eentonig

all songs sound the same, like elevator music, kinda a vibe sometimes

Lempeää - myös vihamielisille korville. 1,5.

Didn't make it all the way through, didn't enjoy it

This is so utterly utterly utterly boring music. The sun is shining, we are lying on the beach and are listening to this no-brainer music. Gets me crazy like e.g. the Red Red Wine of UB40.

Absolutely not for me.

It's not bad at all but no way am I choosing to listen to this on my own time.

Listening to this I suddenly had an urge to stick celery in cream cheese and have another Manhattan. Can something be too smooth? This is music to clean your kitchen by, give you a little kick on to make sure you sweep the floor properly. This is jazz's version of the Rock and Roll's Bobbies, Darin/Rydell et al, the inoffensive lightweights that came after the fury of the first wave. Interesting that this is a year before Coltrane's masterpiece with Johnny Hartman, which took standards and turned them into starkly emotive pieces, an augur for what was coming from Coltrane and jazz. Stan is working within a very specific paradigm here for a very specific audience (and market), whereas Charlie Byrd is nurdling round like a banjo player who forgot his banjo. I'm sure Don Draper happily used this as the background to his next move on the brunette of his choice but from the lofty heights of the 21st century this is not good, I mean it man.

nei heismusikk + tortur = dette

Smoooooth and harmonic. Sadly this makes it that the music moves into the background for me. Some of the songs are a bit more memorable. For me it’s the ones that show more characteristics of classic latin music. Like “Samba Triste”. You have the rhythm of samba with the smooth almost yearning saxophone on top. Favorite Songs: “Samba Triste”

Jazz sucks

too slow for me, not my favourite. reminds me of music i would hear in vintage shops or local cafes.

Annoying/basic jazz. Like playing Sims or in a lift.

Lift music not for me

Samba? This is horrible.

Missed the mark for me. Competent but uninteresting.

I Dont Do JAZZ

no jazz

Jazz. Nope.

It’s jazz innit. That’s all. Not my thing.

I've never been that interested in Jazz, but I'll keep an open mind as I listen. Update: I didn't like it that much. But it was a little bit vibey.

there's no singing bruh 1 star

Trop ascenseur ! L'ambiance jazz doit être plus sympa dans un bar à Jazz!

not my type

listened to this
