3/5 no after all
Pleasant but my girlfriend asked if we were listening to elevator music
no internet
good jazz album. first track is the best.
Decent background chill music. I imagine this playing in a coffee shop or something. I'll probably put it on my studying playlist.
A nice, fun little jazz album.
This is a good example for me of how this list can be useful. I've heard the name Stan Getz before, but had no idea what his style of jazz was. After this listen, I know that when I'm looking for some cool, tight sounds to put on for relaxation or background, I can ask Alexa for a Stan Getz album.
Nothing crazy but overall enjoyable
Always a fan of jazz, little slow so far. was ok 3 stars? 2.5? somewhere around there
This was more enjoyable than i thought it would be. Great music and wouldnt mind listening to agaon one day. 3 stars
chill, didn't pay much attention though
The album title pretty much says it all. Would sound great in an elevator, maybe at a grocery store too
Chill jazz album. Was ok
I'm not a big jazz guy but this is good
It was OK. Far too jazzy for everyday listening.
I listen to my little samba songs and do my little samba dance (I do not actually know how to samba, so I just white-boy dance. You know the dance). An easy listen and one with few complaints, but a pretty shallow listen too. It mostly becomes relaxing background music, which can lead it to becoming underappreciated.
Jazz instrumentals don't usually hold me interest but I enjoyed the samba vibe. Would enjoy this in a bar with drinks please.
Good. Short. Interesting.
Some nice background jazz featuring a clarinet and a shuffling rhythm. 1RS
Upbeat jazz. Pretty fun
M'n eerste jazzplaat ooit geluisterd. Viel me niet tegen.
Sellaista perusvarmaa jatsailua. Oli tuossa kai sitten vähän sellaista keinuvaa samba-rytmiä mukana, mutta Jazziksi tämän mieltäisin eikä tanssimusiikiksi, vaikka kyllä tämän tahtiin varmaan jalalla voisi pistää koreaksi, jos osaisi. Ei kuitenkaan herättänyt erityisemmin tunteita.
good music but not really to my taste overall
false
Dinner Party at the Copa; nach der dritten Margherita und vorm Auftritt von Lenny Bruce. Good clean fun 2.5
Kauf mir gleich erstmal ne schöne Sonntags-FAZ, vielleicht nen Cappuccino dazu. 2,5.
Now that's what I call elevator music. TM. But honestly pretty soothing.
Personally, I didn't recognize much "samba" in this jazz, but I know bossa nova very much and the album is a good instrumental bossa nova versions of some good songs. Nothing special, but I think that spread this Brazilian song around the world (even in an instrumental way) deserves a place in the list of 1001 albums to listen to before die.
Jazzer greit.
I though I've never heard of Stan Getz & Charlie Byrd.... but looks like I know that Desafinado track. Top Track: Samba De Uma Nota So
Elevator music
Not a jazz fan but had some really good vibes, could imagine it as a soundtrack for any hip movie from the 60s.
Jazz...
It was fine. I liked it a lot at first but it was very one note. I really wanted to like it more than I did.
Really nice, smooth album. Bossa Nova is a fun genre of music.
2.5/4- I continue to not get Jazz, but this was pleasant enough.
Sitä itseään parhaimmillaan. Sopii tosi hyvin tietynlaisiin tilanteisiin ja varmasti tulee uudelleen kuunneltua niissä tilanteissa
Inoffensive hold music
Not for me but it was a pleasant listen.
I really can’t with jazz guitar. Bossa or no, samba or not. I would like to enjoy you Stan. It’s not you, it’s me.
Pleasant enough old jazz and mercifully short
Jazz is booringggggggggg
It bothers me that this one is on this list, and it's not even Stan's fault. Getz has helped introduce American jazz to samba, it's exciting and fresh here, and his playing is just wonderful. And yet the whole album is just him trading solos with... Charlie Byrd? I began my Getz journey with Jazz Samba Encore, the follow up to this album, with Luiz Bonfa on guitar instead of Byrd. Bonfa is just SO much better. Plus Maria Toledo on vocals. Encore is one of my fav jazz albums of all time. But this album is just literally Getz and Byrd trading solos, and Byrd is just out of his league in this genre. Most of the time he resorts to some bluesy playing (I cringe), or chordal runs (sometimes those work) - not only do I prefer Bonfa's deft touch and sense of melody, but his guitar tone is also wayyyy better than Byrd's. Anyway, over the years I haven't let this bother me, because I just rarely listened to this album and listened to Encore instead. But what pains me most is that this album has remained for over 60 years MORE popular than Encore, all the way up to this 1001 album list. Yes, I relistened to it, and yes I'm still disappointed.
I love jazz and I love samba. But I didn't love this. It sounds contrived and not organic. But it's still a good listen.
Background music. Evocative of a time. Good for a date. Not distracting but not a standout.
May be unfair, but 2 jazz albums in a 7 album stretch - ah! Interesting if you are into that, I am not.
THIS IS HOLD MUSIC
Musically accomplished and perfectly performed, this still sounds like background music in a department store. Or perhaps a humorous montage in a 1990's American comedy show. I can appreciate the musicianship and I am sure this has it's place. I wonder how much of this album was completely improvised and imagine it would be better to see and hear live. For me though, this quickly slipped into a pleasant backing track and never really reached beyond that.
Boring, but not offensive. Just didn't care about it at all.
This form of easy listening soft jazz is miles better than the abstract stuff that melts my brain. At least all these instruments still appeared to be playing the same songs at the same time. So it gets double my usual jazz points award and comes in as a massive and surprising 2 stars.
I need to educate myself more on this old traditional jazz. Not fully on board.
More samba? This is such a waste of a space. Pick one American samba album and that's it. What is the obsession with this movement that was big in the US in the late 50s/early 60s for a year or two? You're telling me, they couldn't find one Japanese artist for this list but could find space for abour 10-15 samba albums? It's competently played background music. No need. Best Tracks: Desafindo; O Pato; Samba De Uma Nota So
pleasant but unmemorable
It sounds good, but am I gonna remember this album probably not give me three days and I’ll forget that I’ve ever listened to this
I would like to be able to say I enjoyed it, but maybe it's just not my thing. It is the kind of music that would play in a shopping mall or some other public space, where the absence of lyrics and strong emotions makes it suitable for such use. When it comes to my private, own appreciation, though, I don't like how fast it can be. Maybe it's not even that... I just don't like Jazz that much, especially the trumpet.
Ehhhh. Not a bossa nova or jazz fan. This wasn't unlistenable, but nothing that I would ever listen to again willingly.
If you've got a 30 minute elevator journey, I have an album to sell you. It's okay. Nice even. I don't know, i'm not a jazz guy. It sounded good but it all blended together like a piano in a lounge bar.
not for me :(
Ei vieläkään jazz innosta.
1,7/5
Human music -- I like it!
Jazz... starts off like being in a lift. Carries on that way. Nice work on the instruments, but it's just not music to listen to, it's music to happen in the background whilst you're doing something else, maybe in the sun. 2/5, but I don't hate it.
Jazz
Pretty good for elevator music
Certainly wasn’t bad, just don’t care much for jazz
Just not a jazz fan
I appreciate the quality of the musicianship, and I really appreciate that this record is only a half hour long. It’s pleasant enough and would be nice background music at a seaside Brazilian restaurant. But beyond that it’s just sleepy and pure background.
Ahh… lots of jazz records are on the list…
Jazz has never been my thing unless it’s incorporated into something like pop or rap. 5/10
Peak elevator music. Still dont like jazz
Was folgte – Getz/Gilberto, „The Girl from Ipanema" – wäre ohne diesen Abend in Washington kaum denkbar gewesen.
Sophie - Look, I like jazz but, I think listening to this taught me that I only really like it in a live setting. I appreciate when I see the instruments being played. I find this album enjoyable but I don’t want to listen to it in my home, I want it played live or even just played out in a bar or something. I’m not sure why. Just didn’t quite do it for me and everything sort of blurs into one. 2/5
★★½
1. even though it's jazz, it's quite amusing to hear, at least for now... 2. can't really hear a difference to the first track 3-6. it all more or less sounds the same -> not really my type of music, not too bad but nothing really special. can be good background music, although its sometimes to annyoing for that. TOTAL: 3.5/10
Crikey, I don't mean to be rude, but it's just background music, I mean it might be OK while you are eating in a restaurant or something...
this was fun. wont really listen to again but i liked it as background music
Bit boring.
So background-y that it ended before I’d started listening.
The only thing this album is missing is "your call is important to us. You are currently number 125 in the queue. All of our operators are currently busy"
Really hard for me to listem. Some kind of bossa nova mixed with jazz and all instrumental. At times it felt like elevator music that I might enjoy in the background. But I wouldn't listen to It again.
Good atmospheric background music but not really my thing
Big nope. Easy listening dross. Gives jazz a bad name
As far as I know, the jazz selections on this list are all great; other people seem to enjoy them a great deal. The musicianship here is good. I did not hate this. All that said, this bored me. My brain is just not wired to enjoy jazz.
It’s easy to forget what a jazz influence Len Houmous was. 2.3 6/7 E Luxo So
its fine jazz, but nothing memorable, pretty eleveatory to me
Not bad
Boss’s Nova baby yeah! Background music. Not a lot more.
Typisk pausmusik i Spanarna.
Yawnnnn! Nice and short at least, but twas just 33 minutes of lift music.
Was a decent listen while doing a time study. Deserves more than 2 I think but not sure if I want to give it a 3
Smooth 1960s Latin jazz. Fine, but not my thing.
Not really a jazz head but this album was pleasant. I’m not discerning enough to judge its quality, so I’m just going with a noncommittal 2.
Restaurant music, made me hungry. This is just not something I would ever intentionally listen to. I can appreciate the musicianship and I’m sure it’s a quality example of what it is but it’s so out of my wheelhouse it’s hard to judge 2.2??
I've never heard of this before. However, I feel like I've heard it in countless hotels and restaurants as background music.
Nice for background music. Nothing outstanding.
Enjoyable muzak...
not my type.
Very well played and tasteful bossa nova. This is my second Stan Getz album here, and while I can appreciate the musicianship and the importance here, this doesn’t raise above the level of background music for me. Sure, this would be great playing in a nice cocktail lounge surrounded by beautiful and well-dressed people, but that’s not my scene.
There was quite decent interplay between the guitar and sax at points. With little other music existing at the time of its release I can understand its popularity, but there is now no reason for it to exist.
Elevator music
I want to like this. I feel like I should like this but it feels like Muzak and it doesn’t hold my attention
It’s fine enough, but the earth didn’t move or anything.
The epitome of easy listening smooth jazz
It was good for what it is.
Fun, upbeat background music. Something I would easily throw on for a dinner party or a lively date night at home. Not something I would put on for actual listening. 2/5
Belongs on a playlist called "ultimate elevator music."
It's a half hour of stock sounding jazz to me. Maybe that means it's good.
Some nice Jazz, great for studying, not distracting, but not too exciting either
This is such an upbeat and happy album. The uptempo drum brush beat, coupled with the understated acoustic guitar and Stan Getz saxophone right in the forefront sets a warm summery travelling mental image. It feels like the kind of album to play in a car on a summer road trip or in a bar on a warm still evening. I also feel like there is a passing resemblence of Desafinado to Fly me to the Moon in its into. The familiarity set me at ease and made this album more accessible to me. (2.450)
Not really the side of jazz I enjoy all that much. Felt like elevator music to me - nothing to engage me. Sorry
nie mój klimat raczej, albo zły nastrój
theres much better jazz samba by brazilian musicians
Well, uh, it's jazz. Felt like I was standing in an elevator. And just waiting for a change in my life. I'm sure there's some technically impressive things about this and I can appreciate its addition, but jazz ain't for me.
Jazz is such a dice roll This turns out to land on 2 end of the 5 sided dice. It's not bad but I struggle to differentiate it from the other "relaxing" (boring) jazz I've listened to. It's just not done anything interesting for 30 minutes. At least it was short. High 2/Low 3
No really my kind of thing, quite repetitive
Alright for a few minutes but not listening to an entire album.
Good for background music. Other than that, not my thing
Just not a big jazz fan
2/5 - Probably good for its genre, really not my thing though. Would work well as chill background music but I wouldn't actively listen again
I wouldn't mind if this was playing while I was on hold, but I won't choose to listen to it again.
While a fitting soundtrack for your midsummer saturday morning breakfast, it isn't the most engaging music and I can't see myself giving it a listen outside of that.
-okay legit just music -feel like im in whiplash -fine for what it is but when would i legit ever listen to this
Album was fine, it ever really caught my attention honestly. At times it reminded me of elevator music, at other times it was nice listening.
Easygoing and melodic to the point of feeling like elevator music at times, Jazz Samba still showcases the undeniable skill of its musicians.
It's well played, but it's instrumental jazz. Desafinado sounds vageuly familiar, but the rest of the album just sounds all the same. Best song: Desafinado
16. not as good as the other getz
Y'all like jazz? Calming and smooth. But it's not my jam
⭐️⭐️/⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Definitely a very well made album, a love of music comes through but just not my flavour. Reminds me of what my dad listened to when picking me up from school.
Pleasant bossa nova tracks but hardly interesting
Started out nice, but was kind of same-y and a bit cheesy.
Lekker strandmuziek
Jazz is not in my wheelhouse and most latin music is not interesting to me, so I'm a bit wary of what this one will do. I know Charlie Byrd, Stan Getz is vaguely familiar name, but other than that, I'm kind of clueless. Not ,much. Did not do much for me.
It’s jazz. I don’t really do jazz, but this wasn’t as bad as some other jazz offerings so far.
Enjoyable background type music. I should listen to this while I work.
Playful saxophone, strummy guitar, and layered percussion. The most interesting part of the album is the saxophone, as it provides most of the memorable melodies. It's nice to listen to, but not amazing. The percussion is the most Brazilian part of the album, and while I like the layers it's not too discernibly different between the tracks. The guitar has the same problem. Like a lot of softer jazz albums this would provide a nice backdrop for laid back activities, but active listening is less enjoyable for a non-jazz fan. Still, this is a pleasant listen, and easier to follow than more traditional jazz albums.
Didnt mind this in the morning
A nice enough album but must hear I’m not sure
Feel like you need to give this more time, otherwise it sounds like phone hold music
Jazzy
I want to like jazz. But I just can’t…
This be elevator or on hold music, brah
More jazz today — Jazz Samba by Charlie Byrd, to be precise. There really is a lot of jazz in this challenge! That said, this was easily the best jazz album on the list so far. It’s more upbeat and engaging than most, with shorter, punchier tracks that keep things moving. The blend of samba rhythm and jazz shuffle gives it a lively and enjoyable groove throughout. Favourite track: O Pato and Samba Triste Least favourite track: The last two tracks felt a bit dull compared to the rest. Album artwork: Cool, stylish cover that fits the vibe perfectly.
I like jazz, just not this jazz. My daughter: "what is THIS Dad !!!" Heard before ❌️ Listened this time ✅️ Revisit ❌️ Bossa No No★★☆☆☆ (3/10)
Bit of a yawn festival. Not my thing.
Couldn’t finish the album.. not my type. Don’t know why it was in 1000 album list?
My opinion is bias as I have an aversion to the Sax. I'm sure this is good and likes of Saxy people like it. Not for me.
Best Track - "O Pato"
Fahrstuhl Musik.
I made it all the way through and I was only a little bored
This is the music that gets played in bars where old white people drink cocktails prepared by a brown person (but one of the good ones) and arrange to cheat on the person they’ve been married to for forty years but hate, before going off to slowly and painfully fuck each other in grim silence. Samba deez nuts.
Just noise. Making me question the quality of this list’s compilation
Jazz… Samba… exactly as described. My mood today didn’t match. 4.0
Samba bores me I am sorry
Great genre album, great background music, but not a super amazing active listen
Pleasant, but like a lot of well-regarded jazz that is not guitar-centered, I’m not jazzy enough for this (yet?).
Mildly pleasant, but this is just jazzy background music. 2/5
Elevator music
Technically proficient, richly produced, and utterly flavorless. There’s just nothing here that makes this poignant or useful. It’s the progenitor of Muzak and hotel lobby jazz and even though it sounds great it feels incredibly hollow.
Did absolutely nothing for me, I'm afraid. Smooth jazz just isn't something I'll ever enjoy listening to, no matter how well played and composed.
not awful for a jazz album
- I like it in the background, but I wonder what it’s like live? Because I hate to say it, but it gives me mall-music vibes.
Taking as individual pieces these songs are very melodic. However as a piece, they are just mildly diverting. A lot of hipsters will chin stroke themselves into a wild frenzy over this album but its just a collection of songs, nothing more.
I recognize that this is objectively good music, I just….dont like samba lol.
I feel like Jazz Samba requires that I take a Jazz Appreciation course before I can give it the review it deserves. Subjectively, it’s a 2 for me, and that’s mostly because my jazz baseline is Kind of Blue. Where Miles Davis feels like a revelation every time, Stan Getz and Charlie Byrd just sound like a tiki-cocktail happy hour. Maybe that’s the point — this record feels like a watered-down introduction to bossa nova for American ears. In the end, I walked away more impressed by its historical footprint than by the music itself.
Elevator music Ill play on my wedding
Listening to “Jazz Samba,” I found that, aside from a fleeting interest in the opening track, the album struggled to hold my attention. Its melodies, while pleasant enough, rarely sparked excitement. The experience was neither offensive nor invigorating—, it just unfolded with a gentleness that, for me, bordered on monotony. Having now explored at least half a dozen jazz albums as part of this listening journey, I find myself accepting that jazz, simply doesn’t resonate with my personal tastes. 2 ⭐. Would I listen to this album again? No. Would I buy this album? No. 1. "Desafinado" — 2 2. "Samba Dees Days" – 2 3. "O Pato" – 2 4. "Samba Triste" – 2 5. "Samba de Uma Nota Só" – 2 6. "É Luxo Só" – 2 7. "Bahia" (aka 'Baia') – 2 Total - 14 Average - 2.00
Nothing experimental about this jazz album. Laid back ready listening
Not really my thing but it was nice enough
It's alright, don't think I'll go back to it
I was on holiday recently and this kind of music was playing by the pool in the hotel constantly and honestly, i've had enough.
It's a jazz album I'd struggle to distinguish from thousands of other jazz albums
Samba is really not particularly conducive to jazz
that shit sucked listened to pink tape by lil uzi and nettspend instead
Ok Jazz
Ya like jazz? *wink Seems like what you would play for the end credits of Monsters inc.
Not a huge fan of this type of music. The album felt somewhat repetitive. While the jazz feel of the album was great the fast paced nature of the songs felt out of place
Not a genre I'm into, but I tried to get into it. I failed
Just good elevator jazz. Not much more to say here.
Stan Getz- Jazz Samba Before listening: So far, the stuff I would find in the “World Music” section has been great. Excited to hear what happens on this album. Desafinado Samba Dees Days O Pato Samba Triste- kind of sultry, the guitar is super faint in the back Samba De Uma Nota So- a little mystery to this song. All of it sounds like it is from a sixties movie about spies. E Luxo So- a little faster than the other songs on the album- nice alto sax work, but certainly not Coltrane Baia- is this a refrain from this first song? I don't mean that in a bad way- it just seems like it would link up the album well. After listening- I try to give all these albums at least two listens, aside from the ones I have already listened to 100 times. But so far, I’m not enjoying it. It’s a classic “I respect the musicianship, but I don’t love the music.” This is the epitome of “smooth jazz” and “elevator music”. I promise I kept an open mind about it, but It just didn’t move me. Saxophones, guitars and something like a maraca do a ton of work on this album
Talented musicians but it veers too far into easy listening and it ends up kind of dull and drab. Plus by all accounts, Stan Getz was a miserable git.
I like a bit of Samba I thought, Getz/Gilberto is a favourite of mine but this didn't grab me at all really. It felt to wishy washy.
decent jazz
Would be nice as background music in a Latin bar or restaurant but not much else for me
I dunno, put it on at your next fancy party.
Different style of music for me
In a nutshell: kicking off a craze. Thought I'd like this because I liked Getz's collaboration with João Gilberto (Getz/Gilberto). I just thought it was just okay. But it would be an adequate entry point for the genre. Overall: 4/10
Felt like I was on hold in an elevator for half an hour.
Meh, jazzy backgroundmusic
Egh
It was fine
I mean it's fine, it just doesn't occupy any space in my mind. bossa nova is too agreeable for me to care
Interesting tunes, but not my style
Jazz! Jazz? Ja√z. J@§§•
Far better than any prior jazz or samba entries. That isn't saying much since the bar is set so low but I found myself actually enjoying parts of this. 30 minutes was about all that was necessary as the songs all start to sound the same after a bit. It can work as a pleasant background piece if you need something to fill the silence I guess. 1.88 stars
Reflects an atmosphere but wouldn't listen to normally.
This was definitely not my taste
But too sax
Just can't get into it
Pretty chill but also boring, each song sounds the same.
Nice chill samba-y jazzy vibes. Sometimes sounds a bit like garden centre music lol. Is this really one of the albums I MUST hear??
Can't claim to have loved this. Was not in the right environment, so it sort of began to wash over me. At it's best it sounded like a Pixar soundtrack, which is definitely a compliment. Not that eager to listen again though. 2 stars.
Jazz for White people at a Key Party.
My first entirely instrumental album. It's fine, but forgettable. I put it on and kind of just tuned it out. I wouldn't rush to turn it off, but I don't care if I never hear it again.
I guess jazz is kinda lost on me. This just hits like elevator music and I think I'd prefer silence.
Sure fine on drive home
it was just jazz
Not a fan of this album
1. dezafinado - 2.5 2. zamba - 1.5 3. pato - 1 4. trizte - 2 5. nota - 1.5 6. luzo - 1 7. bahia - 1
Sounds good. Not a huge fan of bossanova but I didn’t hate it. Don’t really have a favorite song. Wouldn’t listen to it again due to not having a vibe for that.
Track one: ooh-lah-lah. Very luxurious. Gives me fancy hotel lobby music vibes. Apparently this is a samba-jazz, bossa nova, and cool jazz album according to rym. I've known about bossa Nova for quite some time, but I've never had the chance to give it a listen, so I guess today is finally the day! Just finished listening to the album, and I'd give it a 2 out of 5. None of the tracks stood out to me, and I found it rather boring.
Not to my taste. I'm sure that the artists are very talented, but this doesn't interest me. A 2.
I was in a bit of a mood and I didn't hate this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leEQ3nz8O-I
It all sounds the same. Better than other jazz albums though.
I usually love jazz but this was soooo boring. 2 stars though, just because I can at least recognize the talent.
Desafinado
Every track sounded the same. Not my thing
Pretty sure the hold music at my work is more exciting and groundbreaking than this. It’s not terrible; it’s just boring and forgettable. My life isn’t worse for having listened to this, but it’s also not better. Definitely don’t think I need to hear this before I die.
Kinda boring aside from the Latin rhythms. Miles did it better on sketches of Spain
Well that was…OK. For lift music. There wasn’t a track on this album that couldn’t have been done better by Ska Cubano.

Jazz Samba Encore clears
Musak-jazz with very little bite. Sits in the background but does not mean to be ambient. A weak piece of cool jazz. 2/5
Ok, but not inspiring. I might re-listen later on. 2 stars.
Not bad. Jazz is just not for me.
Not for me
It was fine if you like that sort of thing.
I think it’s the perfect length for an album like this, it’s nice and concise and the playing is good. That being said it’s not for me I just feel instrumental music is much harder on attention spans than music where you can relate to the lyrics. I think for me it’s a high 2/5
Eh, jazz just isn't me
This album was released for our listening pleasure on October 15th. A great day for the Sienko family. Happy birthday, boy. Can't wait to have beer soon. Stan has a shit load of albums. Pretty impressive, but this isn't really anything I enjoy. It was decent and a helluva lot better than that phuggen Yes album. 2
2.5 Two American jazz musicians went down South, borrowed a newfound genre from the locals to bring back to the States, and did it as okay as possible. Come on guys, where’s the excitement here? I’m not really sure what their mission was with this album, but it left me without really feeling anything - it just kind of existed around me for the duration of my listening. It almost felt like I was sitting in a waiting room or on hold to speak with customer service, which is kind of a shame given how much fun samba music is known to be. Don’t have much else to say on this one - this is a really forgettable listen.

Music for guys who say 'broads'. It does make me want to plan a heist in an art deco hotel lobby.
Elevator music
I’m pretty sure this is the best bossa nova album I’ve ever listened to and I’m also pretty sure that’s a title that is never at risk of being challenged too hard.
Not much to say, it was ok, nothing wrong with Bossanova but for me it just feels like background music.
Stan Getz is too talented of a musician to receive only 2 stars, but this just isn't the type of music I like to actively listen to. In the background of a dinner party? I'm vibing. And Bahia was nice. But otherwise, not my thing.
Not my cup of tea, but the story makes it more palpable.
Great grooves that definitely wash over you. Seems perfect for a dinner party with people you don’t know very well.
Men trist.
I’ve come to realise I don’t enjoy listening to Jazz as much as I’d wanted to be
Fine but a little boring. 2/5
Latin rhythms failed to overcome the overall jazzy sound on this. Not a fan of the jazziness at all.

Felt like a 33 minute long elevator ride.
It's samba!!!!
Is it a bad listen? Not really. Doesn't feel like there is much substance. Again, it's one of those "elevator music" type albums. 2.5/5
Kinda boring favourite samba Dee’s days
Another bossa nova album - it is easy to recognize its quality and I appreciate the jazz elements, but ultimately this album is not for me.
Jazz 2/5 for me
Fine but doesn't really do anything for me. Background tunes. Listened to: at home.
It’s exactly what I expected it to be.
meh. 33 minutes is a good length for this album
Not an album I'm familiar with. I'm usually a bigger fan of more energetic jazz, and this has been very relaxed. Given it's called 'Jazz Samba' I don't expect it to pick up too much but let's see. This is decent background music but there are other jazz albums I would prefer to listen to than this. 2/5
The title of this album led me to expect something livelier. I suppose this is fine for background dinner music, but it left me wanting more.
just a jazz album
Thought it just sounded like "the" bossa nova sound, I guess this is where it comes from lol. Was surprised and unsurprised to recognize some excerpts. Big props to the musicianship from everyone. Love the title charlie byrd gave his one song: "Somba Dees Days." For being recorded in a church, it's got super clean/tight recordings and a very pleasant mix. 2 stars for musicianship and production.
Ok music
Good elevator music
It’s jazz, alright.
5/10
I usually don't like jazz, but this is bossa nova, samba-jazz and it's not too bad. The opening track "Desafinado" is a song that I've heard before, as is "Samba de Uma Nota Só" - probably in an elevator or hotel bar somewhere. After a while, all the tracks begin to sound the same to me.
Best song: Desafinado Vibes: Upbeat/offbeat Brazilian trumpet jazz
This was ok. Not bad, but not really my thing. 2/5
Fine Not my thing Will never listen again
It’s okay for elevator music
This veers from sounding like nice background restaurant music to ‘is this from arrested development’ from track to track
Fine in the background, but I wouldn't choose to listen to it
Not what I was expecting. I normally like instrumental when it’s classical or rock.
Just not my kind of thing. Suitable background music for a barbecue, if I didn't really want to pay attention to it. Other than that it's tedious
Jazz with Latin influence. Slow but not as nice a smooth jazz. I prefer more chaotic jazz. This was pretty boring. Feels more like elevator music.
Passabler Samba-Jazz für den Fahrstuhl.
meh
Is this the soundtrack to better call saul... Every song fits perfectly into a scene where Jimmy and Kim are mustering up a devious plan to destroy Howard 2.5 / 5
Pleasant but not that engaging
I'm not a fan of Jazz at all, so don't trust me here. I did find it more bearable than some Jazz, so 2 instead of 1 stars :)
Elevator music 4/10
It's fine background music, but it doesn't really do a lot for me. I mean, Samba is ridiculed by the jazzman in La La Land, so how can I, a non jazzman, take this genre seriously? Wouldn't ever mind if it's playing in the background, but I also wouldn't ever seek it out again.
I have not heard this album since I’m not very into the jazz scene. Most of the songs sounded the same so none stood out to me. I could listen again as background music but it doesn’t really do anything for me.
